- 1And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
- 2And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
- 3And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
- 4And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.
- 5And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
- 6And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
- 7The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
- 8And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
- 9And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
- 10And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
- 11And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
- 12And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
- 13And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

Revelation 8 — Watchman 33 connects the first three trumpets with World War I, World War II, and Chernobyl, while the darkening of the fourth remains unidentified.
About this illustration
This composite joins the chapter’s heavenly trumpet vision with the historical fulfillments taught by Watchman 33: World War I, World War II, and Chernobyl/Wormwood. The partially veiled sun, moon, and stars preserve the fourth trumpet as an unresolved sign rather than assigning it to a modern event.

The Fourth Seal: The Green Horse
Revelation's fourth horse is called pale in English, but the Greek chlōros is rendered green in its other KJV occurrences. Watchman 33 identifies the green horse with Islam, connecting its historic color, global reach near one-quarter of humanity, sword imagery, state beheadings, and the tactics of named Islamist extremist groups.

The Third Trumpet: Chernobyl
Revelation names a falling star called Wormwood that makes waters bitter. Watchman 33 connects the Third Trumpet with Chernobyl’s radioactive plume, contaminated waters, and the disaster’s enduring Wormwood association.

The Second Trumpet: World War II
Revelation joins a burning mountain, death in the sea, and ships destroyed. Watchman 33 identifies World War II as the most likely fulfillment because no other documented event examined combines mountain-like atomic fire, massive naval destruction, and industrial-scale marine pollution on a comparable scale.

The First Trumpet: World War I
Revelation describes hail and fire falling upon the earth and consuming trees and green grass. Watchman 33 sees the artillery, fire, gas, and scorched landscapes of World War I as a modern historical counterpart to that imagery.

Wars & Rumors of War 2024
Dean Odle revisits his watchman calling in light of intensifying global conflict, reading Ezekiel 33, Matthew 24, Ezekiel 38, and Revelation 8–9 as a connected warning. He argues that Israel’s regathering, a future Russian-led invasion, earlier trumpet judgments, and a coming nuclear sixth-trumpet war show prophecy accelerating like labor pains.

The Seven Trumpets of Revelation
Dean Odle presents a historicist interpretation of Revelation’s seven trumpets, arguing that the seals, trumpets, and bowls overlap and converge at Christ’s return instead of unfolding as one simple future sequence. He identifies the first five trumpets with World War I, World War II, Chernobyl, the Gulf War’s burning oil wells, and the 2008–2009 financial crisis.

Spiritual Warfare #2 - The Fall of Satan & His Angels
In “Spiritual Warfare #2 - The Fall of Satan & His Angels,” Pastor Dean Odle presents a Scripture-centered message about Satanic opposition, angelic messengers, eternal life and hope. Drawing especially from Isaiah 6, Genesis 6, Ezekiel 28, Isaiah 14, the teaching emphasizes that Satan’s work is described through deception, accusation, temptation, and opposition to God’s purposes. Odle connects that foundation with the conviction that angelic activity is examined within the biblical passage and its prophetic sequence.
