PRIVACY POLICY

Who operates this service

Watchman 33 is operated by an individual in the State of Texas, United States. In this policy, "Watchman 33," "we," and "us" refer to that individual operator.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create or use a membership account, Auth0 processes your login credentials and authentication information. If you continue with Google, Google provides Auth0 with information permitted by that sign-in flow, such as your account identifier, email address, display name, and profile details. Watchman 33 receives and stores an Auth0 account identifier and may store your email address and display name so we can identify your account and provide member features.

Private study information. If you use the member study tools, we store the bookmarks, saved verses, topics, highlights, notes, reading position, and reader preferences you choose to create. This information is associated with your account so it can be available across your devices.

Support and billing information. If you choose monthly support, Stripe processes your payment details. We store Stripe customer, subscription, and price identifiers, subscription status, amount, and currency so we can provide and manage billing. Watchman 33 does not receive or store your full payment-card number.

Website and device information. Our hosting and security providers may process IP address, request and event logs, browser or device details, referring page, approximate region, and performance information needed to deliver, secure, diagnose, and improve the service.

Push notification information. If you enable browser notifications, we store the device-specific push endpoint, encryption keys supplied by your browser, the topics you choose, limited browser and platform details, subscription activity and its originating Watchman 33 page, delivery results, and notification clicks. The subscription may be associated with your Watchman 33 account when you are signed in. We use this information only to deliver, secure, and measure the notifications you requested.

Information you submit. If you subscribe to updates or contact us, we process the information you provide for that request. A newsletter provider, if enabled, will process subscriptions under its own privacy terms.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate members; save and synchronize private study activity; process, administer, and account for optional support; respond to requests; prevent fraud and abuse; maintain and improve the website; comply with law; and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not use private notes, highlights, bookmarks, or saved passages for targeted advertising, and we do not make them public.

Analytics and cookies

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand aggregated site use and performance. These analytics are designed without analytics cookies and may include page views, referring pages, general browser or device information, approximate geographic region, and performance measurements.

Authentication and billing services may use cookies or similar storage that are necessary to keep you signed in, protect account sessions, prevent fraud, and complete requested transactions. External media providers may set their own cookies when you play an embed or visit their service.

When information is shared

We share information only as needed with service providers that operate the website and member features, including Auth0 for authentication, Neon for private application data, Stripe for payments and subscription management, and Vercel for hosting, delivery, analytics, performance, and security. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a reorganization or transfer of the service subject to appropriate protections.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention and account deletion

We retain account and study information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Billing records may be retained as required for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Security logs and backups are retained according to operational and provider schedules.

You may ask us to delete your membership account and associated private study information. Some information may remain for a limited period in backups or where retention is required by law. Canceling optional monthly support does not by itself delete your free membership account, and deleting an account should be requested separately.

Your choices and rights

You may update certain account information through the applicable account provider and manage or delete study items within the member tools. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held by Watchman 33. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to object, restrict processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, or appeal a privacy decision. To appeal a decision on a privacy request, reply to the decision or email us with the subject "Privacy Appeal" and explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered.

You can manage or cancel monthly support through the Stripe billing portal linked from the membership page. You can unsubscribe from optional email updates using the instructions in those messages.

You can change push-notification topics or disable a device from the Notification Settings page. You can also revoke notification permission in your browser or device settings. Expired and revoked device subscriptions may be retained briefly for delivery diagnostics before deletion.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your login credentials confidential and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.

Children

The membership service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate. A minor who is permitted to use the service should do so with a parent or legal guardian's involvement.

External services and international processing

Pages may link to or embed services such as YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify, or other websites. Those providers process information under their own privacy policies. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the website, membership features, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date below. Material changes may also be presented through the website or account flow.
