TERMS OF SERVICE

Agreement with the operator

These Terms are an agreement between you and the individual who operates Watchman 33 in the State of Texas, United States. In these Terms, "Watchman 33," "we," and "us" refer to that individual operator.

Using the service

Watchman 33 provides Scripture, music, sermons, teachings, research, and personal Bible-study tools. You may use the public website without an account. Some features require a free membership account.

You must be at least 13 to create an account. If you have not reached the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the service only with permission and involvement from a parent or legal guardian. You may not use the service where doing so would violate applicable law.

Free membership

Free members receive all current member study features, including the ability to save passages, organize them by Topic, create highlights and private notes, and synchronize study information across supported devices. We do not promise that every feature will remain unchanged or be available at all times, but financial support does not unlock a different level of membership or special content.

Your account

Provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable security. You may not share, sell, transfer, automate access to, or create accounts fraudulently or for another person without authority.

Your private study content

You retain ownership of notes and other original content you create in the member tools. You give Watchman 33 and its service providers a limited license to host, copy, transmit, back up, and process that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service, comply with law, and honor your requests. Private study content is not intended for public posting through the service.

Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Online services can experience errors, interruptions, or data loss, and the study tools are not a permanent archival service.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the website; interfere with its operation or security; attempt unauthorized access; scrape, crawl, or overload it contrary to published instructions; upload malicious code; impersonate others; infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; or use the service for unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or harmful activity.

Ministry and educational content

The website presents religious, educational, historical, and editorial material for study and discussion. It is not legal, medical, financial, mental-health, or other professional advice. Scripture links, citations, summaries, transcripts, historical claims, interpretations, and external-source descriptions should be examined in their full context. We may correct, revise, add, or remove content at any time.

Optional monthly support

Financial support is voluntary and is not required for membership access. Available options currently include Watchman Friend at $1 USD per month, Wall Builder at $10 USD per month, and a custom whole-dollar monthly amount selected by you, subject to the limits shown at checkout.

By starting monthly support, you authorize Stripe to charge your selected payment method at checkout and automatically each month at the amount shown until canceled. Stripe's checkout page controls the final transaction details. Applicable taxes, if any, will be disclosed before payment.

You may manage or cancel through the billing portal available from the Membership & Support page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current paid billing period and stops future renewals. Except where required by law, completed monthly charges are nonrefundable and we do not provide prorated refunds or credits for a partial billing period.

We may change or discontinue support options. If we change the recurring price for an existing supporter, we will provide any notice and obtain any consent required by law before the new amount is charged.

Watchman 33 is not currently a registered tax-exempt nonprofit. Monthly support is not a tax-deductible charitable contribution, and supporters will not receive a charitable-donation receipt.

Third-party services

The service relies on third parties, including Auth0 for authentication, Neon for application data, Stripe for billing, and Vercel for hosting and delivery. It may also link to media, sources, and services operated by others. Their terms and privacy practices apply to your use of their services, and Watchman 33 is not responsible for third-party content or availability.

Ownership

Except for your original private study content and material owned by third parties, the website, branding, design, software, compilations, and original content belong to Watchman 33 or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive right to use the service for personal, noncommercial purposes; they do not transfer ownership.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the service or others, address unlawful or material violations of these Terms, respond to legal requirements, or discontinue the service. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to export or delete private study content. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, permanent storage, or that all content will be complete, current, or suitable for every purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Watchman 33 and those involved in providing the service will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunity arising from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes, disputes, and contact

We may update these Terms as the service changes. The revised Terms will be posted here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects members, we may provide additional notice or ask for renewed acceptance. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles and without limiting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
