- 1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
- 2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
- 3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
- 4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
- 5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
- 6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
- 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
- 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
- 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
- 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

About this illustration
The house gathering joins eyewitness testimony, fellowship, light, and cleansing in one scene. The basin is understated visual shorthand for cleansing; it is not presented as a sacramental reenactment, and God is not depicted bodily.

The Garden and the Deceiver
Pastor Dean Odle uses the Garden of Eden to warn that the deceiver’s oldest lie still promises that sin carries no final consequence. Moving through Genesis 3, Titus 2, Hebrews 10, Jude, and other passages, he argues that salvation is God’s unearned gift while believers remain responsible to obey Christ, reject habitual sin, and continue in sound doctrine. He contrasts the Spirit’s transforming grace with teachings that excuse lawlessness, addresses contemporary religious deception and disputed end-times claims, and urges listeners to stay in Scripture, prayer, humility, and fellowship with Jesus. The message closes with a call to step away from the tree of sin, repent when one falls, and keep choosing Christ to the end.

The Great Whore (Part 2)
In The Great Whore (Part 2), Pastor Dean Odle argues that Jesus Christ is sufficient as Savior, high priest, intercessor, and the one mediator between God and humanity. Beginning with his own struggle, weakness, and need for grace, he contrasts biblical faith in Christ's blood with religious systems that, in his view, place Mary, saints, priests, sacraments, images, relics, or church tradition between the believer and Christ. First Timothy 2:5-6, Romans 3 and 5, Exodus 20, and Colossians 2 form the message's principal biblical foundation.

The Power of the Word of God
In “The Power of the Word of God,” Pastor Dean Odle teaches that Scripture is living, powerful, and intended for active use. Beginning with Hebrews 4:12 and Hebrews 5:14, he connects spiritual maturity and discernment with repeated obedience to the Word. Jesus’ temptation in Luke 4 supplies the central pattern: Christ answers the devil by speaking Scripture accurately and in context. Odle therefore calls believers to read the Bible aloud, resist the devil steadfastly, remove spiritual footholds, and judge supernatural claims by Scripture rather than emotion or spectacle.

Come Honestly
A Scripture-rich gospel appeal to come to Jesus without pretense: confessing sin, trusting His crucifixion and resurrection, receiving salvation by grace through faith, and following Him in repentance and new life.

Leave the Tree Alone
A forceful Christian hip-hop warning rooted in Eden’s forbidden tree: reject the serpent’s lie that sin is safe, receive salvation as God’s gift, and walk in repentance, obedience, and the Spirit rather than turning grace into permission to rebel.

Turn, Turn
A direct call to repentance from Galatians 5 and 1 Corinthians 6, naming the works of the flesh without partiality and pointing sinners to the cleansing, freedom, and Spirit-shaped life found in Jesus Christ.

Don't Paint Him In Your Image
A sober call to reject a culturally edited Jesus and receive Christ as Scripture reveals Him—Savior, Lord, Judge, and King. The song tests profession, preaching, repentance, and worship against the whole counsel of God.
