Lyrics

[Intro - spoken] A whole garden given. One tree forbidden. And a voice asking, “Did God really say?” Genesis three. Same lie. Different day.

[Verse 1 - measured] Before Adam worked, there was breath in his chest, Before he could earn, God had given His best. A garden, a calling, a place he could keep, Life was a gift, not a wage for the week. Dress it and keep it, enjoy what He’s grown, But the knowledge of evil? Leave that tree alone. A boundary from God wasn’t theft of their freedom, The Father gave plenty; the serpent deceived them. He questioned the warning, then contradicted, Made death sound distant, made sin look gifted. “You shall not surely die” slid into the ear, Made the word of the Lord sound less sincere. She saw it was pleasant, desired to be wise, But a beautiful branch can be dressed in a lie. They ate, then they hid, sewing leaves for the shame, The gift wasn’t earned, but rebellion brought pain.

[Hook - forceful chant] Leave the tree alone! Leave the tree alone! Don’t trade life with the Father for a lie of your own. Step back! Hands off! Let that dead fruit go! If the voice says sin is safe, that’s the snake you know. Leave the tree alone! Leave the tree alone! Grace will teach you how to walk, not to make the dark your home. Turn back! Cry out! Let the Spirit lead! Jesus gives you life; don’t let the liar feed.

[Verse 2 - building] Now the snake wears a suit, puts a mic in his hand, Says your walk doesn’t matter if you once took a stand. “God knows your heart; you can live how you please, Just believe and relax” while he points to the tree. But James chapter two says the demons believe, And a faith without action is dead, don’t be deceived. You can’t buy salvation with the deeds that you’ve done, Put your faith in the risen, crucified Son. Romans ten: believe in your heart and confess, Then follow the Savior, don’t cuddle the mess. Titus two, eleven through thirteen, read it: Grace teaches denial of the lusts that we’re feeding. Sober and righteous, godly right here, Awaiting His glory, not blessing our fear. Jude verse four warns of men creeping in, Turning grace to permission to live in our sin. That’s the garden’s old poison in a freshly poured cup, If it tells you to stay chained, don’t drink that stuff! Hebrews ten warns of willful rebellion, Don’t trample His blood while you claim His protection. Hebrews five, verse nine, hear the connection: He saves those who obey Him, not praise their rejection. Obedience ain’t payment for the blood He supplied, It’s surrender to the Savior who has opened your eyes.

[Verse 3 - double-time] “Just a little affair, just a little deceit, Just a little hidden habit, nobody will see.” That’s the hiss in the leaves, that’s the hook in the bait, Don’t negotiate a bite while you pray to escape. Leave the lies, leave the theft, leave the lust on the screen, Don’t put a Sunday label on a weekday scheme. First Thessalonians four: His will, sanctification, Honor Him with your body, refuse fornication. Self-control is fruit the Holy Spirit grows, Galatians five, let that root take hold. First Corinthians ten says God makes a way, When temptation comes knocking, you don’t have to stay. Cry, “Lord, help me!” Take the exit He gives, Stop defending the chains when He’s teaching you to live. You will serve somebody, you can’t split the throne, Matthew six: two masters can’t both own your soul. Flesh wants a driver, pride wants a crown, Take your cross up daily, lay that old self down.

[Bridge - half-time] Stay in the Word. Stay humble. Stay praying. Tune your heart to truth, hear the wrong note playing. First Timothy four: watch your life and your teaching, Stay with the doctrine, not the crowd that’s cheering. If you fall, don’t hide; don’t make shame your bed, First John one, nine: confess what you did. He’s faithful to forgive, He can cleanse that stain, Repent, get up, walk with Jesus again. A stumble isn’t reason to surrender to the snake, And forgiveness isn’t reason to plan your next mistake. Return to your first love; Revelation two is clear, The tree of life awaits; hear the Spirit, persevere.

[Final Hook - full drums] Leave the tree alone! Leave the tree alone! Don’t trade life with the Father for a lie of your own. Step back! Hands off! Let that dead fruit go! If the voice says sin is safe, that’s the snake you know. Leave the tree alone! Leave the tree alone! Choose Jesus every day, let His Word bring you home. Turn back! Cry out! Let the Spirit lead! I will follow Christ to the end, not the voice in the tree.
