ANCIENT JEWISH LITERATURE
1 ENOCH
The R. H. Charles translation, presented for historical and biblical study.
READ WITH CONTEXT
Ancient witness, clearly distinguished from Scripture
1 Enoch is an ancient Jewish apocalyptic collection that illuminates the world of Genesis 6, Jude, 2 Peter, and New Testament teaching about angels, judgement, and the Son of Man.
Jude 14–15 directly quotes the prophecy preserved in 1 Enoch 1:9. Other New Testament passages share close language and themes; where direct literary dependence is uncertain, the reader labels it as debated.
