About this illustration

The throne’s occupant is hidden in unapproachable radiance, never bodily portrayed. The coal and a living stump combine Isaiah’s cleansing, commission, and the chapter’s holy-seed hope.

Scripture basis: Isaiah 6:1–13
  1. 1In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
  2. 2Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
  3. 3And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
  4. 4And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
  5. 5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
  6. 6Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
  7. 7And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
  8. 8Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
  9. 9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
  10. 10Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
  11. 11Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
  12. 12And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.
  13. 13 But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.

The Second Coming of Jesus Christ

In The Second Coming of Jesus Christ, Pastor Dean Odle warns against teachings that claim Christ already returned, the millennial reign has already occurred, and believers now live in Satan's 'little season.' He begins with the apostolic command to abide in the doctrine of Christ and to reject deceivers, then reads Matthew 24 as a chronological description of a future, unmistakable, worldwide return. Odle emphasizes that the sun and moon will be darkened, the stars will fall, heaven will be rolled back, the mountains and islands will be removed, every tribe will see Christ, and the elect will be gathered after the tribulation.

The Book of Enoch

In “The Book of Enoch,” Pastor Dean Odle begins a series examining whether 1 Enoch should be received as genuine prophecy. He does not argue that it must be added to the biblical canon. Instead, he proposes that its claims should be judged by the written Word and the witness of the Holy Spirit, appealing especially to Genesis 5:21-24, Hebrews 11:5-6, and Jude 14-15. Jude’s attribution of a judgment prophecy to “Enoch the seventh from Adam” is the sermon’s central biblical basis.

Love & Patience

In “Love & Patience,” Pastor Dean Odle presents a Scripture-centered message about holiness, biblical love, family discipleship. Drawing especially from 2 Corinthians 13:5, Isaiah 6, Isaiah 61:3, 1 Peter 2, the teaching emphasizes that God calls believers to reject compromise and pursue practical holiness. Odle connects that foundation with the conviction that biblical love is demonstrated through truth, patience, sacrifice, and conduct toward others.
