The Gospel That Saves and Transforms
Walk through the gospel from humanity’s need to Christ’s death and resurrection, then learn how grace produces new life, repentance, faithful witness, and enduring joy. Each lesson combines a focused excerpt from Pastor Dean Odle’s preaching, guided Bible reading, Strong’s word studies, a knowledge check, prayer, and practical application.
Review edition: this plan faithfully adapts the cited sermons into a guided curriculum. Sermon excerpts are linked for context. Dean’s pastoral review and member feedback will be incorporated into a future revision.
Lessons
The Gospel—Christ Died for Our Sins and Rose Again
Begin with the gospel itself: the holy Creator acted in history to rescue sinners through the death, burial, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.
You Must Be Born Again
Discover why religious knowledge cannot produce spiritual life and how God gives new birth through His Spirit and living Word.
Grace That Saves and Changes
See salvation as God’s gift in Christ and learn why the same grace that forgives also trains believers to leave sin and live faithfully.
Redeemed by Precious Blood
Trace the Bible’s teaching on life, sacrifice, cleansing, and access to God through the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
His Righteousness, Not Ours
Learn how God justifies sinners through faith in Christ and how that gift produces humility, security, perseverance, and restoration.
Repentance and Restoration
Understand repentance as a gospel response that turns from sin toward God and bears practical fruit without becoming a payment for grace.
Explain and Defend the Gospel
Prepare to state the gospel clearly, answer sincere questions from Scripture, and speak with courage, meekness, and respect.
Joy of Salvation and a Life of Witness
Receive restored joy as a grace-rooted life of worship, endurance, obedience, and testimony rather than a demand to feel cheerful at all times.
Final project
This is a formative exercise, not a pass-or-fail doctrinal grade. Use it to identify what is clear and where you need more Scripture, prayer, or pastoral help.
- Write one paragraph that explains who Jesus is, what He accomplished through His death and resurrection, and how a person should respond.
- Prepare a three-part testimony: your life before trusting Christ, how you came to Him, and what He is changing now. Avoid exaggeration and honor the privacy of others.
- Explain in your own words how grace, faith, repentance, obedience, and good works relate to one another.
- Choose one sincere question or objection about the gospel. Answer it from Scripture with truth, gentleness, and respect.
- Choose a thirty-day practice of Scripture, prayer, repentance, fellowship, and witness that will help you continue in what you learned.
