DOCTRINE AND DISCERNMENT SERMONS

Biblical doctrine, theological testing, apologetics, and spiritual discernment.

Knowing Things to Come

Dean Odle teaches that the Holy Spirit can disclose future events in order to prepare and guide believers, while repeatedly calling the church to discernment and dependence on Scripture. He combines personal visions and economic warnings with his futurist reading of Matthew 24 and Revelation, including war, disease, coercive systems, and the mark of the beast.

Knowing the Healer

Dean Odle teaches that Jesus still heals and that healing belongs within the gospel witness, while rejecting formulas that blame every unhealed person or forbid medical care. He begins candidly by saying that he has witnessed striking miracles and answered prayer, but has also seen faithful people suffer and die. Drawing from Isaiah 53, the Gospels, Acts, and Paul’s testimony, he connects Christ’s suffering with forgiveness and healing while refusing to turn that conviction into a guarantee that every prayer will produce an immediate visible result.

Knowing Your Adversary

Dean Odle presents Satan as a subtle adversary who works through temptation, distorted Scripture, false doctrine, counterfeit spiritual experiences, and ungoverned thoughts. Beginning with the believer’s authority in Jesus and the armor of God, he argues that Christians must acknowledge spiritual conflict without becoming fascinated by it. Ephesians 6 frames the battle as a struggle against principalities rather than flesh and blood, while Jesus’ temptation in Matthew 4 shows that the devil may quote a true biblical text with a false application. Regular Scripture reading and prayer are therefore presented as essential defenses.

Flat Earth or Round Earth -

Host Mike Zwick interviews Pastor Dean Odle about biblical cosmology and Odle’s conclusion that Scripture describes a stationary, enclosed earth rather than the modern heliocentric model. Odle recounts his gradual change of view, argues that Genesis 1 should control Christian cosmology, and says that accepting secular accounts of origins has weakened confidence in the Bible. The interview is presented as advocacy for Odle’s position, not as an independent scientific assessment.

Knowing the Voice of the Lord

Dean Odle teaches that hearing the Lord is a normal part of Spirit-led Christianity, but every impression must be tested by Scripture. He places the lesson after teachings on knowing Jesus and the Holy Spirit because spiritual guidance must grow from relationship with Christ rather than from technique. Through John, Acts, and 1 Samuel, he distinguishes the Spirit’s inward witness from rare audible speech, ordinary human thoughts, emotional pressure, and manipulative claims made by other people. Samuel’s initial failure to recognize God’s voice shows that discernment can develop through repetition and mature help.

Breaking Free #2: Can a Christian Have Demons in Them?

In the second “Breaking Free” session, Pastor Dean Odle addresses the disputed question of whether a Christian can have demons. He answers yes, while distinguishing a demonic stronghold from total ownership or control of a person. Personal ministry experiences introduce his case, but he turns to Scripture to argue that believers can give the devil “place” through sin, disobedience, trauma, or ignorance and therefore may need deliverance after conversion.

Breaking Free #1: Spiritual Warfare 101

The opening session of “Breaking Free” lays out Pastor Dean Odle’s basic framework for spiritual warfare. After worship and an appeal to faith, he tells believers that Jesus’ name gives authority over demonic oppression and that Christians should expect to minister healing and deliverance rather than remain passive. He distinguishes fallen angelic rulers from the evil spirits he identifies with the dead giants of Genesis, presenting both as parts of the hostile hierarchy described in Ephesians 6.

Knowing the Holy Spirit

Dean Odle teaches that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a distinct work following conversion and that the New Testament gifts remain for the church. He identifies the Spirit as the Spirit of truth and grace, surveys Acts and 1 Corinthians, and argues that tongues, prophecy, healing, and other manifestations should be welcomed and tested rather than quenched.

Emmanuel, Salvation & Torah Deceivers

In “Emmanuel, Salvation & Torah Deceivers,” Pastor Dean Odle defends the deity of Jesus Christ and salvation by grace through faith against Torah-observant teachings that he believes diminish Christ or make Mosaic-law keeping necessary for right standing with God. He traces the meaning of Emmanuel—God with us—through prophecy and the New Testament, emphasizing that Jesus is not merely a human Messiah but God manifested in the flesh.
