[Music] i believe the lord has given someone the interpretation don't be afraid to step out which you felt the lord begin to speak to you or say to you or show you i just want to say that was from the lord and i'll tell you why in a minute anybody else feel anything else that's something i shared with the church a few weeks ago that a church like ours it's trying to the message we're trying to put forth and the thing we're trying to do the devil is going to oppose it on every side but he will oppose it by opposing individuals the church does not do anything but what we all do and uh amen it's a battle sometimes it's a battle for me on sunday morning sunday nights sometimes i don't sleep too good believe it or not sometimes even the pastor doesn't want to come to church amen praise god y'all can be seated i'll say this about um that word um kevin had no idea and i didn't tell him before the service that my message this morning is about the glory of god and um i think it's something it's something that we need to um get a hold of that the glory of god is a different a different aspect of god and i know that in times past and i think when we were meeting at nick and karen's i talked a little bit about this but i'm just going to start off with this right here um tuesday night when um
we're going to have bible study and it seems like things have kind of changed with bible study because everybody's had something that's got to be done on tuesday nights and i understand that and we were just an experiment to see if tuesday nights would be a good night but um so we may be changing that around in the days ahead and maybe do like in every other friday get together and something like that i'm looking at something different here but um but it ended up being just this nancy and i but it ended up being awesome because we just started praying and we had on some of these songs we listened to this hill song and we had this and we just started praying and and i want to tell you sometimes when if if you'll give yourself to prayer there are times when it seems like it's work and it's difficulty but there are sometimes when the holy spirit moves on you and begins to help you pray and begins to pray through you what he wills and as we begin to pray there and i begin to pray and i begin to ask god and this is something i've been just meditating on really for about the last two years is the difference between the glory of god and even his presence the difference between the glory of god and the anointing the difference between the glory of god and even the operation of the gifts the glory of god yes is his presence but his presence is not always his glory we'll talk about that in a second but as we were praying it just came all over me to pray for the glory of god to come down and and this is not a term that i use lightly or flippantly when i talk about the glory of god because when the glory of god truly comes down upon a person or upon a church or even upon a region when the glory of god shows up it's not all nice the glory of god comes down and exposes sin the glory of god will judge things that he was but that he was tolerating for a season when his glory shows up he won't tolerate anymore and if you don't believe me you can ask ananias and sapphira you can get away with things in the presence of god that you can't get away with in the glory of god there are people who can live in sin and still operate in the anointing or the gifts of god but they will not have the glory of god and the church has made the mistake of thinking that the anointing of god or the presence of god when we get together is all we need and if that was all we need then we would see revival breaking out all over the place but we don't because you have to pay a price for the glory of god you have to pay a price of of hunger and being hungry and thirsty for more of god's glory and with a willingness for god to deal with anything in you that's that's wrong the glory of god will not come on a people who keep on compromising those same compromising people though can still operate in the gifts and the anointing you get what i'm saying
that is one of the most dangerous things in the church world to think that we can have god's presence and miss his glory and then be those people that said lord we prophesied in your name and in your name we cast out demons which takes the authority and power of jesus to do but jesus will look at us and say depart from me you lawbreakers lawbreakers don't get the glory see holiness is a requirement for glory to come god can call you and anoint you like he did samson and the anointing and the gift will keep working even while you're sleeping with the harlot see what i'm saying the gift will keep working for a while and this is the dangerous thing that we can deceive ourselves and even think in church that if we feel the breeze of the presence of god that we're okay well you know what it's wonderful to have any manifestation of god's presence in a in your prayer prayer life or in a church service or when you worship but but thinking that that somehow sticking your toe in the pool or or just sticking your toe in the river is the same as diving in the river and the same as the river filling you and flowing out of you it's a whole different revelation take your bible and i want you to just turn to this scripture this is in psalm 63 we're going to go a few places with this and but as we were praying i guess i didn't tell you again but as we were praying as i was praying for the glory of god this the spirit of god came all over me about it i mean i was in tears about it because i know that no church will be fully what god wants it to be unless the glory manifests in it i know that sinners will not fall under conviction and now i'm talking about sinners that have no intention on getting saved falling under conviction unless the glory of god comes the glory of god brings the fear of god and i'm going to prove these things in just a second but the glory of god to bring the bring the fear of god it brings the conviction but let me say this to you what you don't realize is is this is one of the reasons some of you have gone to church for years and never felt really satisfied on the inside is because most of those churches most of them don't even have the presence of god at all they have they so don't preach the truth and they so don't hunger and thirst for him and there's so much sin in the in the camp they just they don't even have a breeze of his presence but every now and then in some of those churches they might as the bible says when we if two or three are gathered together in his midst he said he will be there and the bible says when we praise the lord he will inhabit our praises and every now and then he'll
come in there and people will think that was great but something down on the inside is never satisfied well i want to say this the presence of god just the breeze of his presence is a good thing but the only thing that really satisfies the human spirit and the human soul is the glory of god now i want to say this in in the old testament there's two different words when you you'll see the word the presence of the lord like in psalm 16 when he says in your presence is fullness of joy y'all know about that remember that scripture psalm 16 in your presence is fullness of joy well that word presence there is the is the hebrew word panim and it means the face as the part that turns basically what that means is is the glory is so on god's face that even if you can get him to turn his face in your direction in the sense of him having favor that is the pawning that is the presence now let me tell you the presence is good i'm not trying to put down the presence of god when god turns his face towards you in favor and and that light begins to shine upon you it's a wonderful thing when you feel that peace of god wash over you anybody know what i'm talking about it's a wonderful thing when you feel your heart strangely warmed as john wesley said when he was finally born again it's a wonderful thing when like the the people on the road to emmaus when they said did not our hearts burn within us while he opened the scriptures to us that experience of the presence of god is is the reality of christianity not that you can just know about this god that we serve but that you can know him and experience him and talk to him and him talk to you that it's a real relationship so the presence of god is good the same word is used in isaiah 66 and 64 when it talks about the presence of the lord coming down in the mountains trembling i mean so i'm not trying to diminish the word presence but it is a completely different term from the word glory in the old testament when you see the word glory translated in the old testament when it is speaking about the glory of god it is the hebrew word kabald and what that means in the hebrew is it means a copiousness a heaviness an overflow of god and this is the way i've tried to to define it and i've defined it in the past is this way because one day god just hit me with all this and i was just writing it down as fast as he was he was showing it to me but a good definition of this is that the presence of god is the atmosphere around him it's when he turns his face he may be still at a dis distance but he gets close enough that some of it starts radiating off him and you feel it okay
but the glory of god is him there's a difference from the atmosphere around god that's good okay versus when god himself says i'm going to show you now part of me this is why it's so terrifying okay let me give you uh the the example before we read in psalm 63 here the example how many of you remember you know the story when the children of israel left egypt right the bible says when they left egypt you go to exodus chapter 13 you can write this down i'm just going to give you a lot of scriptures you can write them down we'll turn to some but we're not going to turn to all of them but exodus 13 when they left egypt it says that god appeared to them and led them by a pillar of a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night okay now what's interesting about that is that was god's tangible presence among them okay that was him manifesting to them i am with you okay but that was not him you get what i'm saying god made the fire it's kind of like this god built the fire and god built the pillar it represented his presence with them but it wasn't him okay how can i i can explain that well if you look at moses later on it says that there would be a pillar of a cloud by him and moses would go into the cloud and then the glory of god would appear in the cloud oh wait a minute i thought the cloud was the glory of god no the cloud was the presence of god the cloud would literally light up and then moses would go inside that thing and sometimes the glory would be so intense and so strong on that mountain on mount sinai with moses that the glory would be so strong they said it would appear like the mountain was on fire okay now let's think of something everybody may be thinking well that's moses right well second corinthians chapter 3 says that the glory of the old covenant doesn't even compare now to the glory that we should be experiencing in the new covenant what they had was under the blood of bulls and goats and lambs what we have now is through the blood of the lamb of god jesus which is far better than the blood of bulls and goats amen what we don't realize is it's kind of like we are we are poor little paupers over here and we found a penny on the ground and we're praising god and thanking god for the penny and right next to it is a ch a treasure chest that's not even locked but god says if you'll go after me after
this there's so much more that you can have but see we tend to shy away from the glory of god why because if we're going to have the glory of god we're going to have to deal with sin see adam and eve had the glory of god in the garden the moment they sinned and they lost that glory covering they had what'd they do they ran and hit this is what we've got to have and i'm going to show you this is something just let's look at psalm 63 and then we'll we'll turn to some others but psalm 63 has been one of my favorite this is the cry this is a prayer that you should have in your life and for your church and for your city that the glory of god would come and this is david who knew about the glory and he said verse one oh god you are my god early will i seek you my soul thirsts for you my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land where no water is for two things he said what was he saying he's about saying my soul is thirsting for you my flesh is longing for you like a like a man that's in the desert with no water to see your power and your glory to see your power and your glory you know what this represents power represents the anointing or the move of the holy spirit to do something to demonstrate something this morning when you heard the the the tongues that was a tongue to be given in a public service the interpretation that is in essence a demonstration of two gifts of the spirit that you saw this morning that really is a demonstration of the anointing or the gifts of the spirit the power but david said it's not enough to just say i want the power he said i want to see your power and your glory in the sanctuary and let's what is he says so as i have seen thee in the sanctuary i've seen you this way in the past but i'm not even satisfied to live in the past i want to see you again in your church in in the sanctuary in your power and in your glory so david said i long for this i thirst for this i want this and this word glory here is the word cabald it does it is the word that talks about the tangible when god manifests himself in a powerful way do you all see that even in the new testament even in the new testament there's two different words greek words for um for glory and for presence in the new testament the word presence is what is it proponent and it literally means the same thing as it does in the old testament it means the front or the the face or the countenance that's being turned toward you okay but doxa is the word for glory in the new
testament and that literally means the very apparent glory not from a distance not just an atmosphere but upon you and we sit back and we say you know what we we settle guys for so much less moses was up on the mountain i don't have time to go into the whole we could go through the whole book of exodus almost but moses was up on the mountain and remember the children of israel had just seen god decimate egypt with plagues and destruction right he had set them free from 400 years of slavery they see the red sea part they can see the cloud of god's presence in the fire and they saw pharaoh's army drown in the sea and they get out there and moses goes up on the mountain and and actually he takes the elders and this is in exodus 24. he takes the elders and they get to see god matter of fact hold on let's turn to that i want you to see it go to exodus 24. they get to see god and then they build a calf a golden calf i've never quite understood that exodus 24. exodus 24 let's just read this so you'll see what i'm talking about verse 1. and it says and he said unto moses come up unto the lord thou aaron nadab abahu 70 of the elders of israel and this is the 70 elders that it says god took the spirit of of moses and put on them and he said and worship ye far off and moses alone shall come near the lord but they shall not come nigh neither shall the people go up unto him and moses came and told the people all the words of the lord all the judgments and all the people answered with one voice and said all the words which the lord has said we will do and moses wrote all the words of the lord and rose up early in the morning and build an altar and under the hill 12 pillars and so on and so forth then he made the offerings of the oxen and everything but look down it says he took verse six he took half of the blood and put it in basins and he sprinkled the blood on the altar and he took the book of the covenant and read it in the audience of the people and they said all that the lord has said we will do and be obedient right and moses look at this took of the blood and sprinkled it on the people and said behold the blood of the covenant which the lord has made with you concerning all these things then went up moses and aaron and nadab and abahu the sons of aaron and the 70 of the elders and look at what it says in verse 10 and they saw the god of israel and there was under his feet as it were
a paved work of sapphire and stone and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness and the nobles of the children of israel he laid not his hand also they saw god and did eat and drink so they had this experience now let's let's he shows him now again now this is god god what's interesting here is remember when he couldn't let moses see him fully so basically it'll kill you if i let you see me fully no man could see me fully and live so he said i'm going to hide you in a rock and i'm going to cover you and i'm going to let you see my back well here god let them see his feet standing on like a sapphire pavement okay god is revealing himself to these people and they've come through the blood covenant he sprinkled the blood on them right and god reveals himself to them now look at this let's read on about this glory a little bit so you'll see and skip down to verse 12 here it says and the lord said unto moses come up to me in the mount and be there and i will give thee tables of stone and a law and the commandments which i have written that thou mayest teach them and moses rose up in his minister joshua and moses went up unto the mount of god and he said unto the elders tarry ye here for us until we come again unto you and behold aaron and her are with you and if you have any matters to do let him come unto them and moses went up into the mount now listen to this and a cloud covered the mount and the glory of the lord abode on mount sinai and the cloud covered it six days and the seventh day he called unto moses out of the midst of the cloud listen and the sight of the glory of the lord was like a devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of israel and moses went into the midst of the cloud and got him up into the mount and moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights so moses shows them they get to see not just the cloud but the glory of the lord they get to see a tangible part of god now skip on over to exodus 30 oh we'll just go to 32. exodus 32. it says that when the people saw that moses delayed to come down to the mount they gathered themselves together unto aaron and said up make us gods we shall go before us for as this moses the man that brought us up out of the land of egypt we what not what has become of him well i think he told them didn't he wait for me to come back if you have any problems take them to aaron and her they see all this and then what happens make us gods and aaron said unto them break off your golden earrings which are in your ears of your wives and your sons
and your daughters and bring them unto me and all the people broke off the golden earrings which was in their ears and brought them to aaron and he received them at their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool after he'd made a molten calf and they said these be thy gods o israel which brought thee up out of the land of egypt and when aaron saw it he built an altar before it aaron made a proclamation he said tomorrow is a feast to the lord now i'm going to stop there tomorrow is a feast of the lord moses tells them to wait the glory of god is revealed instead they don't wait they make a calf they worship it but say it's a feast to the lord this sounds about like the confusion in the church world but i wanted you to see this because i want you to see something the glory of god was up on the mountain at that time with moses now the cloud and the pillar of fire was still in the camp god's presence was in the camp his glory was up on the mountain okay in god's presence you can make a golden calf and think you're getting away with it and say we got the presence of the lord we'll sacrifice we'll make we'll feast to it you know what that is doing things your own way and you know what these people did not only did they have a nice little feast that god didn't tell them to have it says they rose up to play i mean a bunch of them got into fornication basically they had a big orgy and aaron made the calf aaron the high priest right they didn't quite get it yet you know why they knew of god's presence but really only moses understood his glory and his nature it's one thing to know the acts of god to speak in tongues to prophesy to pray for healing it's another thing to respect and honor the holiness and glory of god but the people who will honor and respect the character and nature of god will get his glory and see here's the thing what we don't realize if we get the glory of god we get everything else you don't have to struggle for anointing when you're in the glory you understand what i'm talking about when you're struggling down the side of the bank of that river to dip your toe in
it's different when you jump in and let the current take you you don't even have to struggle and swim you can let the river take you down the glory of god is the river we dip our toe in it sometimes most of the time we have a picnic next to it and think we're having church right when god's been saying all along get in get in do whatever you must do and see this is where most christians in most churches really miss it they settle for camping by the river they can smell it they can hear it they're in the atmosphere of the river but they don't jump into it you know why they don't jump into it it's scary in there where is it going to take me i'm out i will be out of control god will be in control of my life and interesting when you're in a russian river you don't control where you go it takes you right babe but see if it's the river of the glory of god it's going to take you where god wants to go let me say this about the glory of god when the glory of god comes down people get saved and i want to look into the new testament real quick i want to show you something this about the glory of god appearing didn't just happen in the old testament turn with me to um oh let's go to acts chapter 9 first acts chapter 9. y'all with me this morning y'all kind of quiet back there i need to hear a little woot sometime i want you to see this because listen folks the mission of the church is basically several things first of all it is to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry it is to bring people into maturity we're doing that we're dealing with we're doing counseling all the time we're we're teaching people about deliverance and inner healing and things and i believe our church is getting stronger and i believe it's going to get stronger but the other mission of the church is to preach the gospel to every creature in the world to do the evangelist the evangelism thing and to try to win the lost i mean the early church
it wasn't just about fellowship and breaking bread and getting together and praying but it was about winning the lost okay people that you work with your family your friends your neighbors but folks want to say this we can go preach the gospel with the glory or we can go and preach the gospel without the glory and i can tell you this it's much harder without the glory of god coming down when the glory of god comes down people get saved who had no intention on getting saved when the glory of god comes down they're so convicted and the fear of god comes over and the realities of heaven and hell are made so clear to them that when you say the truth when you speak the truth to them when you say it's time to give your heart to jesus it's time to give up that sin it's time to let jesus be lord it's time to be ready to die and be ready for eternal life then with the glory of god's already been working on them for a few weeks you see what i'm saying you will see conversions the bible says clearly that no man can come unless the father draws him he draws them by his glory by his very presence the the very fact of conviction of sin do you know that the first work of god in your life to awaken you to the fact that you're a sinner and that you are lost and that you are on your way to hell that enlightenment that revelation that conviction is a manifestation of the holy spirit and of his of the glory of god why do you think it says all have sinned and come short of what the glory but the gift of god is eternal life the gift is to reveal to you the glory again and the glory nobody really gets saved unless they're first convinced that they are a sinner and lost and deserved to go to hell nobody gets saved until that reality is there there are a lot of people that that that pray and accept jesus because they think jesus make their life better and when things don't get better all of a sudden or when they go through difficulty they don't make it but the person that's truly been convicted of sin and realizes i am an accr i'm a criminal in god's court i have broken the law of god i deserve judgment and wrath and hell when i when you realize i deserve that then you understand the price that was paid on the cross for your sins that's why this is just a completely different mindset this cotton candy christianity out here that offers people a carnival and cotton candy and jesus will make your life better and he's three points to do it to deal with stress at work that's not getting anybody saved that's getting people to accept jesus and put him on a shelf with all their other gods
no the jesus we serve brother and he's about it's me and me only right amen somebody ought to say amen or me but look at this the glory of god in the new testament right saul was breathing out verse acts 9 verse 1 he says he was breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the lord went to the high priest desired of him letters to damascus to the synagogue that if he found any of this way that means any christians whether they be men or women that he might bring them bound to jerusalem and as he journeyed he came near damascus and look at this suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven the glory of god shine down do you know why the glory of god shined down because you know the early church they were obeying the holy spirit and one of the commands of jesus was to pray for your enemies right who was the greatest enemy of the church at this time this man right here saul of tarsus the church was praying for him and you know what the church had the glory of god so you know what happened a man that had no intention on getting saved he was not on his way to church he was on his way to kill christians to bind them to put them in prison on his way to persecute christians hating jesus hating this new sect the glory of god came down on him a light from heaven it was tangible it was visible it was so bright that we find out that it knocks saul down to the ground and blinded him but here's the man who hated christianity he hated christians he thought it was a he thought it was a cult and a terrible perversion of his religion he hated him says all of a sudden he went from that to falling to the earth saying and hearing god speak to him saul why do you persecute me and he said who art thou lord he said i am jesus whom you persecute it is hard for you to kick against the prince so god reveals himself personally to saul tells him his sin basically you're kicking against me you're fighting me and look what it says he trembling that means in terror in fear and astonish said lord what will you have me to do boy was that a transformation of a sinner in a moment do you see a preacher present do you see a long theological argument or a long presentation of apologetics no the glory of god shown from heaven convicted this man brought this man down on his face broke him showed him you are a sinner and you are fighting against god
and this man went from going to kill christians to saying what will you have me do lord and he became one of the greatest christians ever but i want to tell you it was connected to prayer i know it doesn't say this here but i know that the christians in the early church were obeying the command of jesus to pray for those who persecute you right let's go to one more at least might be two more acts 12. i want you to see it's in the new testament we need the glory of god to come down folks maybe i can communicate it and i hope it i hope it'll sink down in your heart and your mind if we as christians don't get right with god and get a hold of god for the glory of god to come down there are people who won't be saved it's just that simple who on the other hand if we get a hold of god and get the glory of god to come down there'll be people who we don't have to argue with for the next two or three years they'll get saved this has been proven in revivals you know what revivals have been whales azusa street the hebrides brownsville you know what they've been a group of people sometimes as small as this saying you know what god we're not settling for anything less than your glory because people need to be saved a bunch of young people in their 20s and teens got a hold of god in the welsh revival and a hundred thousand people got saved in 12 months i mean converted i mean cussing gin drinking coal miners okay revival history is full of groups of people that got a hold of god and said we're not letting you go until you do this because we don't want to see our community go to hell i don't want to see my neighbor die and go in the flames of hell i don't want to see my sister i don't want to see my co-worker i don't want to see my boss i don't want to see him go to hell in acts chapter 12. persecution is continuing verse one it says now about the time herod the king stretched forth his hand to vex certain of the church and look at this he killed james the brother of john with the sword now let's just stop right there for a second james the brother of john
one of the sons of thunder that jesus named one of the 12 he's killed wake up call to the church the devil is after your leadership wake up call right and because he saw it please the jews he proceeded further to take peter then there were the days of unleavened bread and when he had apprehended him he put him in prison and delivered him to four quadrants of soldiers to keep him intending after after easter after passover rather to bring him forth to the people and peter therefore was kept in prison but look at this but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto god for him they understood you know what this crazy herod just killed james he's going after peter what say he's going to stop you know what peter represents here an apostolic ministry do you know what apostolic ministry represents the authority and power from god to affect thousands of people in the region this is what the devil was after so he's going to kill peter and he said would herod would have brought him forth the same night peter was sleeping between two soldiers bound with two chains and the keepers before the door kept the prison and look at this and behold the angel of the lord came upon him and look what it says and a light shined in the prison the glory of god manifested in the prison and he smote peter on the side and raised him up saying arise quickly and his chains fell off his hand and the angel said gird thyself and bind on thy sandals and he did he said cast thy garment about me and follow me and he went out and followed him and went through and he didn't know what what was true that was done by the angel but he thought he saw a vision and when they were passed the first and the second ward they came into the iron gate that leads unto the city which opened to them of his own accord the door even opened up for and we know that peter went on and went back to the church and went on to preach and see thousands of people saved and healed but folks the church got a hold of this issue we have got to pray or we're going to lose stuff we're going to lose leaders we're going to lose people we have got to pray and get a hold of the glory the glory of god when they got a hold of god the glory of god came into that prison the light shining the prison god sent an angel god will knock off chains listen folks this is why we got to pray this is why we got to pray and fast and be hungry and thirsty for god's glory and his presence to come now this is why people are in bondage even good people peter's locked up here this is this is also another picture to show you there are there are people in this city who used to serve the lord with all their
heart but they're bound by addictions they're bound by demons they're bound by all this junk and the church needs to get a hold of god and get the glory of god to come down so the chains will be broken off of them and they'll be set free and they can fulfill their ministry and help people you get somebody really free in the glory of god and they will help others get free i can't say it enough this is connected to prayer the glory of god is always connected to the amount of hunger and thirst that you want you know the children of israel you know they could they could build a calf with the presence of god but when the glory of god comes even isaiah a holy prophet when the glory of god appeared to him he said i am undone i am unclean and i dwell among unclean people the glory of god will change you amen turn turn with me to isaiah 6. i want you to see these things this this will be it i promise the glory of god there is so much that can be said about this but i think you're getting the point we need him amen and if we get right with him we get the sin out we get the compromise out we get the lukewarmness that we get all the and we truly get hungry and thirsty and we get in prayer and we get a hold of god he will not let us down this is the thing you might understand but you're not faking him if it's not true hunger he is not faked off by our little prayers that we throw up in the car as we're running down the road and calling that our prayer time yeah he's like yeah that's nice she prayed while you're running to work i'm glad you did but you know how about some real time with me you know he's not fooled by that we fool ourselves with that don't we still good to pray in the car riding to work not saying that all of you know there's a difference with real time with god right so one thing he said a praying man and i said this in the bible study we've been talking about prayer i said praying man and i think i don't know if it was uh i don't know if leonard ravenhill said it or embounds i think it was ian bounds wrote a lot on prayer but he said a praying man will stop sinning
and a sinning man will stop praying so let's let's read this look look at what it does to you now isaiah what already's ministry had already been started he was already walking with god he was already hearing god and then his his king dies that he was close to godly king you know a bit of a tragedy in his life look what happens says in the year that king uzziah died i saw also the lord sitting upon a throne high and lifted up and his train filled the temple so he sees the lord he sees his glory filling the temple above it stood the cherubims and each had six wings and with twain he covered his face and with twain he covered his feet with twain he did fly and one cried unto another saying holy holy holy is the lord of hosts the whole earth is full of his glory and this caused the post of the door moved at the voice of him that cried and the house was filled with smoke now look at this he hear the glory of god to a man that's already a prophet he's already moving in the gifts of the spirit he's already hearing from god and yet he has this experience with the glory of god and what does he say first thing he says woe is me for i am undone and that word there means you know what he's saying he says woe is me i am cut off man he realizes i am not where i need to be he thought he was before this though oh how we lie and deceive ourselves about where we really are sometimes sometimes you just need to admit i'm lukewarm i'm apathetic i'm not praying fervently i'm not hungry for god i'm not thirsty for god i'm not brokenhearted and crying tears over some people that are lost i am dry and dead just admit it and say god forgive me god fill me again god help me knock my bible off over here amen woe is me he says i am undone right i'm cut off let me tell you the glory of god will make you feel like you're not saved sometimes even when you are i remember being at brownsville in some of those services there when the glory of god would come in and the fear of god would come in so strong and they would give the altar call for people to repent and get saved and i was right with god and i'd feel like i needed to go down there i'd be like i'm not living i'm okay but the glory of god was there i mean when the glory's there it exposes everything that's why we run from it that's why we shy away from it that's why we don't really hunger and thirst for it because it's going to start exposing every every little bit of pride
every little bit of lust every little bit of anger every little bit of unforgiveness every it's going to expose everything and you know what sometimes you just don't it's just overwhelming you don't want to deal with it you like i liked it better when i went to a church that sang you know the two hymns preached about earth day and we all could go home at noon never going to happen around here let's go on never never never the day we get home at noon you'll know something is wrong all right let's let's finish this he says i am undone so the first thing he noticed was his own sin all right the second thing he noticed he said i'm a man he said because i'm a man of unclean lips i dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips for my eyes have seen the king the lord of hosts wow so he recognized you know what if i'm in this shape there's a lot of people around me in this shape all right but notice he didn't he didn't condemn he didn't do anything he goes on he says look i've seen the king then flew one of the seraphims unto me having a live coal in his hand and he'd taken from the tongues of the altar and he laid it upon my mouth and he said lo this has touched thy lips and thine iniquity is taken away and thy sin is purged now why did isaiah get purged his sin purged away by the fire of god here from off this altar because he humbled himself and reckons i even i even though i'm a prophet i am unclean that humility of i got to get some things right and then he recognized boy there are people all around me just like me that maybe i can we you know the glory of god and the holiness of god well we're in trouble it's that understanding that god's going to judge sin when the glory of god comes in we know oh god he's serious about this stuff his very nature manifesting reveals i have to judge sin because i am holy strong stuff but look what it does to him once he is purged his sin is cleansed he heard the voice of the lord saying who shall i send and who will go for us and what does isaiah say
god needs people who will go to the world who will go to the lost who will go to his people that have fallen away and god says who will go for us and here look at what isaiah says here i am send me here i am send me god see what the glory does to you the glory comes down to make you get right with god but the glory also give you a true concern a true love a true burden for lost people for backslidden people and then god gave him a strong message for him though didn't he he went on to say these are the people that that uh he said go tell this people here you hear ye indeed but understand not you see indeed but you don't perceive and he went on to tell them their hearts are heavy and their eyes are blind not a not a real nice message sometimes we have to go preach let's get hungry not just for the anointing not just for the gifts though as good as they are not just for the presence of god as good as that is but for his glory it's got to become like david cried out in psalm 63 it's got to become your your flesh your soul has got to thirst and hunger what did god say about the hungry blessed are they that do hunger thirst for righteousness they will be filled he will not let us down that's why the word kevin had no idea what i was going to preach on sometimes i don't even have an idea what i'm going to preach but he said the glory will be here this week tuesday night i'm praying for revive i'm praying see the the vision the vision and the purpose of this church is not just part of it is to establish and it's in our vision to establish a church a new testament church in east alabama that's it it is to establish a church but the church is only a place to facilitate a move of god so you will hear this from me all the time it is not enough to just i don't want just a good church i i hundred a hundred people two hundred people three a thousand you know a good church that's not the the main purpose i want a move of god i want people being falling down on their face like paul convicted and whether they come to our church or not they're saved they're born again
i'm tired of these prophetic ministries out here talking about that you know some oil came out of somebody's hand or some gold dust or a raindrop was in the building i'm so sick of that how about somebody getting out of a wheelchair how about the blind eye is seeing how about deaf ears being open quit quit talking to me about your little goosebump miracles apparitions of mary and stupid stuff no the blind the deaf the crippled how about the amputee getting a new limb you know i they used to say this at brownsville and i loved it they say you know what until your shadow's healing the sick you might have room for a little more of god in your life right instead of this lukewarm laodicean spirit that says i got it enough i'm good enough we're good we got this no we don't we're running out of time folks we need the glory of god if we get the glory we'll get the souls we'll get the miracles we'll get the gifts but if we run after just the gifts and compromise we'll never get the glory of god and we'll never have the revival but see i believe that word he gave the revival will come because you know what i believe and this is this is the truth i believe that this little church will do it see i believe you'll do it i'll say this right now my church before i knew even though i preached about it talked about it cried about it i knew they weren't going to do it stubborn stiff-necked people but i know you all will i know it completely different group completely different time now is the time the summer is going to be more preparation i really believe some things are really going to break through in the fall but it's going to be because not not by accident it's like what mark said a minute ago it's a it's a battle it doesn't come without a fight amen so pray hunger for the glory of god let's stand this morning
