Lord, the only thing that makes the ground holy is because you decide to visit there. Lord, we thank you that your word declares where two or three are gathered together in your name. Lord, not liars in your name, but truth, true, genuine believers gathered in your name. You said you are there in the midst. You've also commanded your angels to encamp round about those who fear you. We thank you, Lord, that there's angels all around this place. We thank you, Lord, for your presence in this place. And we just ask you, Lord, to move in our hearts. And Lord, help us all, Lord, uh, no matter how long we've been saved or how long we've been walking this thing, to stay humble, to realize that the devil is crafty in his ways and he's willing to work slowly over time. Well, good morning everyone. Also, um, Scott, how's your your sister's granddaughter? What's her name? Renley. And how is she doing? Oh, praise God. Praise God. All
right. Well, y'all keep praying for uh Renley and that is good news. All right. Well, we're going to pray the rest of it is gone in Jesus name. Amen. Well, I want you to get your Bibles out this morning. We're going to start out in Proverbs. Oh, you need some wisdom, right? So, we're going to go to Proverbs. We're gonna get some wisdom today. Proverbs 13 and verse four. We're going to start there. I've called this today spiritual laziness. Yeah. Um spiritual laziness. But this one's going to be of course it can apply in many areas. Prayer. It can apply in fasting. It can apply in uh assembling yourselves together and worshiping the Lord together or studying your Bible. Uh so it can apply to all those things. But today I'm going to apply it to the topic of deliverance. And uh I'm going to show you and explain to you that really to experience a complete and thorough deliverance from demonic strongholds in your life, you have to be a very diligent person. One of the things that I discovered for doing this now for since 1987 is that for the most part, what most people want is somebody to anoint you with oil, lay hands on you, say a five-minute prayer, and you're delivered and or you want somebody to do it all for you. And this is one of the big problems because when the Lord taught me when I went through mine and let's just put it this way, there's probably no one in this room who had a worse situation than I did. Okay? Unless you went through satanic ritualistic abuse. Now, if you did, then we're in the same boat. All right? But that's about as deep as it as it gets when you're dealing with demonic strongholds putting you as a child. Um, of course, you know, I mean, I have I can just say this that in all these years, there is nothing that I haven't seen or heard in the realm of deliverance. I've seen every fad that's come and gone. I've read every book about it. Um, I've seen the abuses of it. I've seen it not finished in people's lives and they were told they were finished. Um, I never tell anybody they're finished because I don't know. There may be stuff I don't know. There may be stuff you don't know yet about yourself that you have to find out later. Um, but I never say that because it is really, if you're going to get anything today out of this, you need to listen. Deliverance from demonic strongholds in your life that you got, you either inherited, and we're going to
talk about the doorways, or things happened to you when you were a child, or sins you committed. Um, you are not going to get free unless you are diligent. It's just that simple. Unless you're diligent. This is a process. It's a journey. And to tell you the truth, it never really ends. Because uh I don't know how many of you only clean your house one time. If you've if that's you, then I know what your house looks like right now. Right. Right. because along the way just trying to walk out this Christian life, we pick up stuff that we have to deal with. Okay? And so it is a, you know, kind of a maintenance process. Now, I know a lot of the church world out there, they don't even believe that a Christian can have a demon or need deliverance. We're past that, I hope. Okay. Now, I forgot one of the main things I wanted to bring this morning. I received a wonderful letter in the mail, like snail mail, real letter, not an email. And I don't know, it was about three pages I think, but it was somebody who listens and I can't remember where they live. I think it's out west or something, maybe in California, which hey, miracles do happen, right? But you know what they did? They said, "You know what, Pastor Dean? We started listening to your sermons and we realized that we were backsliding. We were lukewarm. And they repented and got their life right with the Lord. And then they started listening to everything else. Well, they listen to the deliverance teaching, this whole series. And and it's not just a series. There's multiple times I've taught this in this church over the years. So, it's it's it's all there. It's on the website. There's even one button on denodal.org that's just dedicated to deliverance, right? And we have a 100 question questionnaire to help you figure out where some doors might be open in your life. All right? Well, this individual, I think it was a couple, but they took this, they listened to it all, made their list of all the open doors they could think of, did what they were supposed to do, were diligent to bind those demons and cast them out in Jesus' name, and to clean out the house and ask the Lord to close the door to rebuild the wall around them, the hedge of protection. and they are talking about how their lives are transformed. Yet though I have people that still some that have sit in this church that the information has been there for you for a long time and you haven't even made a list. You hadn't gotten after it. You hadn't fasted and prayed about it. You hadn't pursued it. You haven't you haven't done what you need to do. And let me tell you, when it was for me, I wanted
somebody Rebecca Brown. In fact, Dr. Rebecca Brown, the Lord told me when everything started surfacing back in my life, all the beach balls I was still holding under water that I didn't even realize I was still holding underwater, all them demonic beach balls. When they all began to surface, uh, he told me to call her. Now, let me just go and tell you right now, she didn't say, "Oh, you poor pitiful soul." Because I mean, I was having full manifestations. Couldn't open my mouth sometime. I mean, demons were taking over. She didn't She didn't say, "Oh, let me pray for you and fix everything for you." She said, "Have you made your list? Have you been thorough? Everything that you know of from your childhood on up?" Well, uh uh uh let me tell you something. She blessed me out for the next few minutes. And guess what I did? I went and made my list. Took me about three hours, four, whatever. Prayed over everything on it. And that was when mine really began. And over the next say couple of years there were other things that would come up the Lord would show me and it you know I learned how to deal with it. But that initial one where I got diligent and busy with dealing with everything methodically thoroughly that's where the deliverance true freedom began in my life. But had I been a lazy person and wanted somebody to do it for me, let me just go and tell you right now there's a lot of people doing deliverance. Now in 1987, you know how many people are doing deliverance out there? Not very many. A handful of people. So guess what? They couldn't handle the level of need that was there versus the number of people who were doing it. There was no way that it was going to be handled that way. So what did they do? God began to teach us and I'm going to show you today. It's biblical for you to do 95% of your deliverance to n to 100% yourself. There's only certain situations where you may need help. And that's going to be the that's going to be the small part. There may be bigger things from your past that you need help with. And really, let me just tell you this. We see Jesus casting demons out of people and the apostles usually when there was an open evident manifestation. Now, we do have the one situation with Mary Magdalene, Luke 8, where it talks about she had seven devils that went out of her. I believe that the reason that the disciples were able to recognize there were seven demons that went out there because Jesus sat down with her
and went through a kind of methodic process. I wish that was recorded in the Bible. But I think too, and let me just say this, there are deliverance ministries out there that are complete whackadoodle. I mean, got pulling octopuses out of people's heads and the tooth of the octopus and um got people up on stage wearing octopus hat to illustrate. Oh, it's insane. Um talking about Oh. Oh. Talking about telling a demon to cast out another demon. Yeah. Oh, I've got I've seen it all. I've seen, you know, the people that pull out the crosses and touch people on the head. That Roman Catholic nonsense, superstitions, exorcism techniques. Like I said, there is nothing, I'm telling you, there's nothing that I haven't seen. Now, I'm not saying someone won't won't in invent some more unbiblical um whackadoodle stuff because it's going to happen and they're out there. But also, there are other ones out there. There's good, sincere Christians. And they may not do everything the way I do it. And I and and that's fine. As long as they're sticking to the Bible, and as long as they're getting people free, that's fine. I mean, we're not all going to do things exactly the same way. But I'm just telling you, this is not, again, not something that I, you know, I started last week. So, um, I've seen full-on demon possessed, out of their minds, throwing it. I've seen people lifted up and thrown across the room by demons. I've heard them talk in all kind of different voices and come out of people. Um, and then I've been in deliverances where there was no manifestation whatsoever, but the person's life was transformed. So, I say all that because I want to get this down in you. We're going to go through this, but we're going to talk about spiritual laziness today. Because I was thinking, remember last week I mentioned that, you know, I got a bunch of you that I probably need to sit down with. And the Lord was like, "No, you don't sit down with them until they do their job." And he reminded me of that because he told me this a while back. He's like, "If they won't be diligent to do their part, you don't need to be sitting down with them." Because the problem is what that you're doing with that is you're enabling a lazy person. And I'm not going to enable laziness. All right? Um I I it's funny when I ask people a lot of times, and it's not just in this church, but people who contact us about deliverance, I'm like, "Well, have you done this, this, this, and this? Have you watched the videos? Have you studied them? Have you gotten the scriptures down in you? Are you controlling your thought life and casting down imaginations? Have you repented of all sin? Have you forgiven
everybody? Well, then what are you wasting my time for? Because if you come with those things, see, and see, here's the dangerous thing. If you lie about those things or you don't tell the truth, then what happens is somebody might sit down and pray with you and wonder why we're not getting anywhere. And you're wasting their time, energy, and strength. You're wasting your time, energy, and strength. And you're probably going to make yourself seven times worse by playing these little games. You have to, this is something you better be serious about doing and completing. I can tell you this much. I can tell you that there have been people who came here who heard this truth. We taught it again. We had a we even in 21 we did the seminar. Ted shared his testimony. on this the deliverance seminar um in Skyfalls. We've had mass deliverance. The Lord told me to start doing that as a beginning in some people's life. Not the not that we were doing it all, but maybe to help them kickstart something, but still they were needing to do the rest. Um but there are so many people that are not ready for this. They haven't learned how to fight. But you know before the Lord brought me to the place of deliverance when I came back to the Lord in ' 87 he didn't do it immediately. Oh why do you think that he did? He waited till 1989 to allow it to manifest and then me to go through a more thorough deliverance. Why do you think he gave me two years? because he wanted me to learn how to pray, how to bind the demons and resist the devil and cast down imaginations and control my thoughts and forgive people I need to forgive and get out of sin to walk out true repentance. When you do that, you are ready for deliverance. If you're not doing that, you are not ready for deliverance. Repentance and walking with Jesus comes first. Now, there are some exceptions. There are some people that are so demonpossessed and they're manifesting and they can't do these things. And that is that's the small minority of people that you're probably going to have to con deal with if you do deliverance ministry. Okay? and you make exceptions for those type of situations, but for the most part, the born again Christian is just lazy. We want somebody else to do the work and we want to benefit from it. So, let's look at the slugard. Proverbs
13:4. And the Lord's had me look at these in a different way here. Just focus on some words. Like notice it says here the soul. Somebody say the soul. The soul of the slugard desireth. Let me stop there for a second. There's a lot of people who desire to be free from the torment or the manipulation or the control or whatever kind of affliction the demons are causing. They want relief. So they have desire. It says it says they have desire and hath nothing. Why do they hath nothing? Because they doeth nothing except desire. And just because somebody wants to be set free doesn't mean they're ready to be set free. I have people all the time, oh they're they're manifesting demons. And I'm just like, calm down. Are they born again? Let's start there. But see, there's a bunch of deliverance ministers out there. Oh, yeah. Make an appointment. Bring them on in. No. And let me just go and tell you something. Deliverance ministries that are charging money for it, beware. All right. And I don't even know but of a few. I know some. I don't look into everything out there. I just don't have time. But it says here, "The soul of the slugger desireth and hath nothing. But the soul of the diligent shall be made fat." Now that word fat there means prosperous. It means successful. It means what? The blessing of God is there. You're not going to be starving to death spiritually speaking. Right? So say this with me. I will either be the slugard or the diligent. One or the other when it comes to this and really your entire spiritual life. Here's another thing. Let's go to Proverbs 22:13. Let's put that one up. And guess what? You can look up the word slothful and sluggered in the Hebrew, in the Greek, and guess what it means? Slothful, sluggarded, lazy, somebody that doesn't want to exert much energy. Right? It says, "The slothful man saith, there is a lion without her outside, and I shall be slain in the streets." Let me tell you another thing. The lazy person has a bunch of
excuses as to why they're not doing what they need to do. This, that, the other thing. Let me tell you a little quick story about this. There was a fellow in Montgomery that I had known for several years. He was uh on staff, pastor on staff, and I may have shared about him over the years, but he he he had been molested by his uncle, I think, when he was like five or six years old. And because of that during his teenage years, he got into a homosexual lifestyle. And then he gets into his 20s and early 30s and the Lord gets a hold of him and he gets saved. He repents, gets out of that lifestyle and gets married, starts having children, uh goes through the Assembly of God Bible College, uh their online, not the online, but whatever their correspondence course back then, it was all snail mail back then. He goes through that. He becomes an ordained minister in the Assemblies of God. Um but of course, the Assemblies of God taught that a Christian can't have a demon, right? because I know because I used to preach in a lot of Assembly of God churches and I used to attend a lot of them because they were spiritfilled. They believed in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and so we did have some things in common. Um, but this is why why I had to part part ways with the Assemblies of God because over the deliverance issue and some other things. But but anyway, this guy um God God opens the door basically basically for me to be on staff at that church, be part to lead the singles ministry. Then they fire the the crooked pastor they had and uh they're about six months without a pastor. And basically I'm doing the job in this huge church of the pastor. I'm leading prayer meetings. I'm preaching on Wednesday nights. I'm doing most all the counseling. And of course I brought into that church the deliverance ministry. The truth about Christians can have a demon. Here's why. The door was open to me because I had taken a lady through deliverance who uh was crippled in a wheelchair and she was crippled because of her hatred for her ex-husband and that had opened the door for spirit infirmity which brought severe arthritis into her body as a as not I mean she was probably in her 40s and it put her in a wheelchair for two years. She could not walk and so God sent me and the lady an older lady named Mary Woodall uh who um was at this church. She was in charge of the uh uh the whole Sunday school, you know, thing in this big church. Her husband had been the pastor at Frasier United Methodist way back before John Ed and all that stuff. Um anyway, she went with me to
pray with this woman. We were doing deliverance over her. We weren't getting anywhere. And finally I said, "You've got unforgiveness. Who who is it you have unforgiveness to?" And of course he comes out, "I hate my ex-husband." Boohoo. Well, I'm like, "Well, you're going to go to hell with him. If that's, you know, if he's as bad as you say he is and and he's going to hell, then you're going to go to hell because you hate him." I wasn't real popular at the moment. Truth's usually not when you want to focus on your emotions. I said, "You have to forgive him." And we went through that whole process and she did. And when she truly from her heart forgave him and repented over that, the Lord spoke to me and said, "Tell her I said for her to rise up and walk." And she's in a wheelchair. She hadn't walked. She was out of work. And it wasn't me telling her. I don't just tell people to do that, right? It's not my decision. I said to her, her name was Mary Elizabeth. I said, Mary Elizabeth, I said, "The Lord said for me to tell you that he sent for you to rise up and walk in Jesus name." And she stood up and started walking. All right? And from my knowledge, she went on walking for years. Well, because of that miracle that came through the process of doing real deliverance, the door opened to me in this church and I got to teach the deliverance teaching of how Christians can have a demon. I went through the whole thing from one, you know, I think I it was an back then, well, back then it was an hour and a half sermon, but I taught it on a Tuesday morning. It was the what they called the Tuesday morning miracle service. There was more people in that Tuesday morning service than are here today. Okay? Full big room full of people. Well, this guy who was on staff there that had been molested by his uncle, been in homosexuality, well, he was sitting right in the front row listening to every word. And I prayed. I had prayed with a friend of his who had more horrendous things in his life than this particular individual. And his friend had told him, "Man, it changed my life." So, he was listening and long story short, he knew he needed to do it, that he needed to make his list, that he needed to, you know, and I even offered to him, okay, you know, I know you got some big boys from some big issues in the past. I will meet with you and we will deal with this. Well, you know what he did? Put it off. Put it off. Put it off.
put it off. Everything else more important. Well, guess what happens if you keep those demonic strongholds? And I don't care what they are. Adultery, pornography, lust, anger, violence, drunkenness, whatever it may be, drugs. Eventually, the beach balls are going to come up. You can't hold them under water for long and they all come up. So during the Brownsville revival, this pa this friend of mine, this pastor was taking the older adults down to Pensacola. He'd drive them down to the church bus. And at first he'd go into the revival with them and then he stopped going to the revival with them. He'd drop them off and go to the gay bars down in Pensacola. He got back into that lifestyle. Well, it wasn't but a matter of time before it all came out and it was a big blow up because this guy was on staff at this church. He preached at this church. He was during the he was in the choir and the praise and worship team. Uh you know, he was involved in a little bit of everything and it was just devastation. And then even after his fall, I reached out to him and tried to get him to set up a time and set up a time and set up a time and then just long story short, he never followed through. He is still to this day living in a homosexual lifestyle, miserable, tormented, but simply will not do what he needs to do. Now, I'm sure he's got plenty of excuses. His first excuse that got in his way was, "I want my wife back." His wife left him. I said, I told him, I said, she has every right to leave you. She's she made up her mind. She wasn't living in that. She was done. That was it. She left. And basically, he made that a condition between him and God. Either his wife comes back and then if his wife comes back, he would right with the Lord. And if not, he was he wasn't going to do it. He was going to be mad at God. Bottom line, he had his excuses, but it just says, it just shows right there that really deep down, he just didn't want to do the work that it was going to take. How many people are going to wind up in hell because they were just too lazy to do what they needed to do to walk with Jesus? It's going to be a sad day.
Proverbs 21:25. Now you'll understand this one. The slothful man or the desire rather the desire of the slothful killth him. See if you have desire and no follow through it's going to kill you. It says, "The desire of the slothful killth him, for his hands refuse to labor." Now, yes, that has a normal connotation in our world. We should work. Man doesn't work, he shouldn't eat, right? Well, think about that. You want to taste and see that the Lord is good. You want to taste the freedom. You want to taste the deliverance. It's the same thing. You got to pay the price. You got to do the work. If you depending on somebody else to do it all for you, you know what? You are a Democrat. I mean a demon. See, the kingdom of God is not socialism, communism. It's not the government does it all for you. God does it all for you. Even the Lord doesn't do it all for you. He says, "What? Draw near to me and I'll draw near to you." Right? It's conditional. The desire though, I that struck me because It's like I know a lot of people that have desire for things, right? There's a bunch of folks that desire to drive a new Corvette, but they won't go out and work a job to pay for it. They'd love a government grant from USAD to go buy them a new Corvette, right? It's what they do, right? I'm just having a little fun. Proverbs 24 30 through34. This one's vitally important here too as well. Proverbs 24:30 through34. It says here 24 30-34. He says, 'I went by the field of the slothful and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding.' I think it's interesting that he calls a person who's lazy also void of understanding because if you really understand, you won't be
lazy. And if you're diligent in studying the word and seeking God, you will have understanding. You see how that works? But he says here, "I went by the field of the slothful and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding, and lo, it was all grown over with thorns and nettles, which are thorny weeds." And it said had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down. Then I saw and considered it well, and I looked upon it, and received instruction. Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep. So shall thy poverty come as one that traveleth and thy want as an armed man or as a robber. Now let's work our way through this a little bit. Back up to verse 30. Said I went by the the field of the sloth by the vineyard of the man void of understanding. And what did he see? Grown over with thorns and with weeds had covered the face thereof. And look at this. the stone wall was broken down. See, there's this verse that I've used for years preaching about deliverance, and it's Ecclesiastes 10:8. You can put it up, but be ready to come back to that. Proverbs, he that digth a pit shall fall into it, and whosoever breakth a hedge, a serpent shall bite him. So what he's saying too here is is that if you look at the lazy their their land which is this right here covered with thorns and weeds. Well, what is that a sign of? If we go to the parable of the sewer, what do we find? We find that the person that received the seed in the thorny ground immediately grew but became what? careless, lazy, lusting for other things, lazy in their walk with Jesus, but desiring worldly things, worldly lust, the pleasures of this world, the lust of riches. What that's what he said began to choke the word and it became unfruitful. All right. But then he says, "This wall's broken down." See, deliverance is about finding where the wall's broken down and repairing that in your life. Finding where there is entrances, openings. Where did the devil get a an entrance into your life? Did somebody harm you? Did somebody traumatize you? Did you do drugs? Did you drink regular? Were you into satanic music, satanic horror movies? Some of you might be into that
now. Sexual sin always opens the door to demons. Every time. Every time. Where are the holes in the wall? Now, what he's saying is a a diligent man is going to get say, "You know what? Let's get the bricks, the mortar or the stones and the mortar. Let's get out here and get this wall built back." Cuz let me tell you what comes through the wall. Snakes, wolves, all kinds of stuff. And what are they coming to do? The thief comes to what? Steal, kill, and destroy. So if your walls got all these holes in it, the hedge is supposed to be of protection. It's supposed to be around your life. Are you being lazy to get after it about these? Let me tell you something. If I know I have one hole in my wall, I'm like, for my family, because guess what, guys? Especially husbands, you need to listen up. You think that your your open door that you have is only going to affect you. Wrong. It's always going to trickle down to your wife, to your children, to your grandchildren. It can just keep going. And some of this stuff, these openings in the wall in the hedge are life and death issues. They will determine whether you survive, whether you live the the promise that God has for us of a long life. With long life, he says, "I'll satisfy them, show them my salvation." Right? I knew and I've shared this before. I I prayed years ago with a pastor's wife, a Baptist pastor's wife who had cancer, stage four bone cancer. Her bones were breaking. She was dying. Brought her husband over and her over for dinner. It went through the scriptures about healing. Anointed her with oil. Prayed over her. She goes back to the cancer specialist in Arkansas at the cancer treatment center there and not a tumor in her body, not a weak bone, not a porous bone, but she decides several months later to get a book by a Christian. Gota watch in Christian
people about dream interpretation and it had all these things. Oh, if you see this in one of your dreams, it means this and basically giving you a list to operate in divination because only the Lord has the interpretation to a dream. And you know a school bus in my dream and a school bus in your dream could mean two completely different things. We can't have a list saying it if you have a school bus in your dream it means this that's demonic. It's divination and that'll open another door into your life. Right? But she gets this book and I didn't know about this book but this is about six months later I get word again because they had become friends of ours cancer's back. like it all came it all left not a trace of it and it's all back like it it all at once. Now you know this this illness not all illnesses are demonic but this was demonic clearly. And what did I say? I said well to the person that brought me the news I said well the curse without a cause does not come. It left. Now it's back. There has to be opening. There has to be a broken hole in the wall. Where' the wall get broken? where the heads get broken. Found out about the dream interpretation book. Tried to talk to her. Showed her where witches do the same thing and people in voodoo do the same thing. Wouldn't listen to me until cancer gets worse and worse and worse until she's at the point about to die. She finally said, "Okay, I I'm going to let go of it." So she repented, asked God to forgive her, brought her and her husband over the house again, prayed for this time, bound the demons she opened of divination through the dream interpretation book. Bound those demons in Jesus name. Cast them out. Rebuke the cancer. Rebuke the spirit of death. Cast them out in Jesus' name. She goes back to the cancer place in Arkansas. It's gone again. Completely gone. Now, these are facts. Facts, facts, facts. Right? If you have an opening, now you say, "Well, I know I've had openings in my life and that hadn't happened to me yet." Well, you need to thank God. You need to praise God because that's the mercy of God in your life. What is mercy? Undeserved kindness. Think about the road Ted went down here. The Lord could have just said, "Okay, you opened so many doors. I'm just going to let you have what what you you know, I'm going to let run through this this gap. Whatever can run through it." That's why he says, "Whoso." Somebody say, "Whoso."
It's not Jose. So that means anybody Christian or not. But he talks about what? The slugard, the slothful, their walls broken down. The Lord's given us the tools. I'm going to give you this verse. This is a verse that I focus on. If you want to put a little mark beside one of the verses today, this is the one to do it. highlight in your Bible. Get you a phone cover that has this verse on it. Keychains, the works. Let's go to 2 Corinthians 7:1. Y'all ought to know this one by heart. I can't tell you how many times I've preached this verse in 38 years. But I want to point out something. Who's he talking to first? Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us. Somebody say let us. If we say us or we, who are we talking about? Right? So, see, I believe that Paul was talking about himself and about the Christians at Corinth. And we know that they had problems with the wall being broken down because these folks were still compromising with pagan rituals. They were still compromising with sexual sin and immorality. And they had all kind of stuff. And Paul said, "These things aren't even supposed to be happening in the church." What is going on? Put the guy in incest out of the church until he repents. I mean, he's trying he's trying to keep the whole church from completely corrupting itself. And then he tells them this, "Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Let us cleanse ourselves. Let me read it again. It says, "Let us call for Pastor Dean to come do all this for me." So, is that what it says? No. I'm too old now. I'm too tired. Y'all now see y'all g most of y'all at least have gone from babies to teenagers. Y'all gonna start cleaning up your own room, wiping your own butt and all that
stuff. You're a little rebellious looking for what's fun. I'm like Sabin in that commercial. No fun. we deal with the if if we're not dealing with what's important. Cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh. And that's the works of the flesh. It's not taking a bath, of course. And spirit. Somebody say spirit. Small s. What is spiritual uncleanness? What did the Bible call evil spirits? What What's one of their names? Anybody take a guess? Unclean. That's it. That's right. Unclean spirits. So, Christians can have these doorways. They can have doorways from their past. They can have doorways that they've opened like the church of Corinth. And Paul is getting on to them. Let us cleanse [Music] ourselves. You know what that you know what that verse could say on it right there? We could just put at the top a nice little title and say the selfd deliverance verse. No, I want somebody to do it for me. I don't mind helping you, but I better see some work involved. You better have told me I've done everything I know to do. And then guess what? There are times you may do everything you know to do. And we even sit down and do what we know to do. And there's still just it's just not the it's not the time for a certain thing to be revealed. Remember Jesus said to his disciples, I believe this is in John 15, I think somewhere around verse, I don't know, 12 or somewhere, verse eight, something like that. But he said, I have many things to say unto you, but you cannot bear them now. meaning there's certain things I need to tell you. It's just not time to tell you. You couldn't handle it right now. There have been people that I have known, God has shown me at times that they have had sexual molestation in their past from a certain relative. I mean, sometimes the Lord shows me very specific things. Certain relative, this happened or it was satanic related. this happened. But the Lord's like, "If you tell them now, they will not hear it." And what I have to do is wait and
pray for them until they hear it from the Lord. He begins to show them. And then when they come to me and say, "I feel like this is what the Lord's showing me." I can go, "Yeah, he showed it to me, too." And that's called patience. not jumping on a deliverance. Just because there's a need does not mean you need to jump into it. And this is for those of you who I believe, tell you the truth, I'm be honest with you. I believe everybody's called to do this. All Christians are called to cast demons out of other people. So, at some point, you're going to do this or you should. And you need to know how to be patient. And just because you might be think you have some knowledge and you're excited about it doesn't mean you're supposed to jump into every situation immediately that comes your way. I got one coming my way right now that I'm like I mean it's huge, right? It's as deep as it gets. Satanic ritual abuse. Do I know how to deal with that? Yes. But there's a lot that comes with that. And there are also people that come around faking that they want deliverance. Oh, they've been into that. But they're also now part of the covenant and operating with the covenant. And they come to me wanting me to do deliverance. So I waste my time, energy, and strength on them. And I'm not saying this situation that's come to me, but I got to pray about it, right? There's other situations. I remember there was one young lady I've talked about before that had been through satanic ritualistic abuse severe by her own father. He was a Satanist. He took her to satanic meetings when she was young up until the point she was 8 years old. She was sexually molested. She was ritualistic, violently traumatized. But she had her memory had blocked it out. So she couldn't tell me that was her problem. Yet she lived in this incredible torment and fear and panic attacks. Couldn't sleep. Miserable. And I've shared it before, but she started dating one of my friends. It's for the new folks. She started dating one of my friends and he told me about her situation. I'm just like, and this girl lived for Jesus. And you're like, what the heck is going on? She she hadn't been in any sexual sin. She had she didn't drink. She didn't do drugs. She went to church. I'm like, "This girl's life and what's going on with her spiritually speaking. This doesn't match." And she was just begging me to do her deliverance. And I made her write out a list and it was about four things. And I'm like, none of this is even deliverance necessary right here.
You know, I mean, it was just what's going on. And so she was so desperate because she was being so tormented by fear and demons just in her house and everything, stuff moving around and all kinds of stuff. And so finally I said, "All right, all right." You know, I was giving in. I'll sit down and pray with you. And then the Lord spoke to me and he said, "Son, if you don't fast for seven days for her, you're going to miss some things." He said, "You're going to miss some big things." And I was I mean, I heard it just like if you were talking to me. And I So, I had to make the phone call to tell her, "We got to wait for a week." Now, this is a person who was like in desperation, like I feel like I'm going to die of a panic attack or these things are going to kill me. And I'm like, you got to chill. I got to obey the Lord. And that was seven days. No food. See, that's a real fast. I didn't do a Daniel fast. No food. I don't even know what a Daniel fast is because fast means do not eat. Y'all make up stuff so y'all can have megaurch fast, right? Seven days, no food, fasted and prayed and still had no word about it. Sit down to pray with her. Start praying over what little bit. You know, sometimes you just have to start in the dark. You just don't even know where you're going. I I was just like, I don't even know where where this is going. But when you fast, let me just tell you something about this is why you have to fast. You have to fast. Not because fasting gives you power. Because if this was a matter of sheer power, it can God can drop that on you anytime. You have to fast so you can hear from God. Fasting quiets the noise of your carnal mind so you can hear the Lord. Very that still small voice that it that will be very subtle but very specific. And what happened was as I was praying for her, I had my hands on her head. Another lady in the room with me. I wasn't married at the time. I started seeing it. I saw her father taking her. Now he passed away when she was 8 years old. And I said, you know, she well, she told me I said, "Well, what happened when you were eight?" Because she had no memory up until eight. That's right. She She had no memory up until 8 years old. I said,
"That's not normal. What happened when you're eight?" She said, "Well, my father died and I started living with my grandmother and we started going to church and I got saved." So she remembers nothing from birth to 8 years old. And I said, "Okay." And that's when I prayed again. And the Lord just showed me. I saw her father taking her to satanic meetings. I saw the pentagrams. I saw it like it was a movie being played. And the Lord told me, "I killed him for his sin, his wickedness." And then the Lord said to me, "Name every occult ritual that you know about." And I started going down the list. Destruction rituals, blood sacrifice rituals, rape rituals, rebirthing ceremonies, bride of Satan rituals. I mean, going down the lists as I started each one, the screams that came out of her, the voices that came out of her. 10 hours later, we were done. 10 hours later and we didn't go have take a break for dinner. All right. Now, why do I bring that up? Because you got to be able to hear the Lord about this fasting issue. If you don't fast and pray, you're not going to hear. Therefore, you're not going to know what to do. And if you don't know what to do, then you're just feeling around in the dark and you're not really going to help anybody. And let me tell you, most of the time there are hidden things that nobody knows about and that the people themselves who need deliverance can't remember. And if you sit there and you know, you got a formula and you run through the formula and say you're delivered now and they go off and they're still struggling and they're they're going to be more discouraged than ever before. This is why you don't tell people we got everything. I don't know. I don't know. Maybe they don't know. This is why it makes it so difficult. It's one of the most difficult ministries to do, which is why few do it. But it's vitally important. It's vitally needed. Now, are we going to be lazy people? Are
we? And let me just tell you, if you go through the process you need to go through to get true freedom, deliverance, and healing in your life, if you're willing to do that work, here's what's beautiful. This is why God set it up this way. Because by going through that work, that process, you will understand how to tell others to go through that process. You will have a personal testimony to say this is what I did and this is what worked. You cannot be lazy. You cannot be slothful. You know, um I I spoke Rebecca Brown, Dr. Rebecca Brown, as I shared with you, that was in ' 89 when she rebuked me soundly, corrected me, and I needed it. But when I was pastoring and had her come, her and her husband come minister for a week, me and another pastor in Montgomery, we had her come. And one day I I was uh hanging out with her in between services and I said, "So, where's Elaine? What's happened to Elaine?" And she said, "Ela is tormented again. She is sick all the time. Cancer is back. I mean, she just And I said, "Why? What's going on?" And she said these words to me. Elaine is lazy. Elaine wants me to do everything for her. And I finally told her, "It's time for her to grow up, move out of my house, get your own house and deal with this. You know how to do it. You You've learned how. You've been given the tools. Jesus has provided everything we need. Here's the tools. Fix the problem. But again, she wanted Rebecca to do it all for her. And it really God's God came in and when God gave Dr. Rebecca Brown her husband Daniel and I got to know him too when they were there when it her it was time for her life to go on to move on from Elaine. She waited till she was in her 40s to get married. It was it was her time for the two of them to have a marriage and have a ministry together, not to keep babysitting Elaine. See, a lot of people don't know that story because I hadn't told that one. And I don't know what ever happened to her after that series of meetings. I never asked her again about Elaine because that wasn't her real name
anyway because in you know in in ' 86 when you wrote that book they had to use basically pin names because they were hunted by Satanists all across the country and then of course I mean it eventually got out and they've been slandered and lied about and you can find all kind of trash about them online that's just Satan has worked hard to try to destroy their reputations. But that's why I believe the Lord allowed me to meet her, to spend time with her, to I sensed when I was around her just the anointing and glory of God on her life. So nobody can tell me. I knew people that she had helped. So, but it's a battle and nobody wants to do this. and and Rebecca herself went through absolute hell doing deliverance ministry. Now, somebody I got to address this. Somebody made a comment on our page last week because I brought up Dr. Rebecca Brown. Now, her books, our students have to read her books and I recommend He Came to Set the Captives Free, Prepare for War and Becoming a Vessel of Honor, Unbroken Curses. Those four books are excellent. Um, there's a part in there talks about the werewolves. And I need to bring this up because this lady goes, "I know this book ain't true because it said the werewolves can be say obviously you don't understand what that is." Okay, just the term we're wolf that we're not saying wolf but we're wolf. Just because we're saying that term means that what we mean is lycanthropy, shapeshifting. A human being giving themselves over to such powerful demons that they can make molecular changes in their body and they morph into other shapes, usually an animal of some kind. Those who shapeshift into a wolf are called werewolves. And it's real. Not the mythical creature that comes out only on a full moon and a silver bullet kills them. All that's nonsense. But these are people in Satanism that are completely 100% sold out to the devil and they can morph into a wolf. And I've seen it. I've seen them begin to morph into a wolf. I've seen the fullsize thing. One stood this tall. Its back. Just its back. Its neck. I couldn't get my arms around. I've seen them with the blood dripping, the red eyes, the whole night. It's real. My brother was with me. He saw it, too. We saw about three or four of them that evening. I also saw angels
protecting us from them with my eyes wide open. So that's real. What she's talking about in there is not an animal getting saved. She's talking about a human being that's given themselves over to that. She says the blood of Jesus is so powerful and so uh like it says he's able to save to the uttermost. Meaning that no one, even someone that far into satanic, dark, black magic and demon possession, if they want to come to Jesus, they can come to Jesus and they can be saved. And they might pay a price. They might pay with their lives coming out of it. and they'll be martyrs, but still the Lord is able to completely save them and deliver them. Okay? So, I don't know why this person got all been out of shape about that. Now, I know there's some people out just get been out of shape and I'm talking about werewolves. Um, but you need to understand something else, too. There's not just human beings that can morph into these things. I was doing deliverance on a guy and watched he he fell in the floor and his jaw actually started growing out into the shape the snout of a wolf. And the Lord immediately showed me that he was not sincere about deliverance. That he was just wasting my time, strength, and energy. And I told him, I said, "You're a Satanist. Get up. We're done with this." His jaw went back in. He started laughing. I was like, "Get out of here." See, this is this is this is what happens. This is real life. All right. So, I've seen these things. I've seen what as you would, as you would say, what a real vampire is. Again, there's no cross going to keep them away or garlic or it has to be a wood stake. None of that. See that? What they do is they take these things from the occult world and they mix them with fantasy and myth so that nobody really believe it that it's real. But let me tell you, when Twilight came out, you got to remember this was in 89 period time period when the werewolf incidents happened. There was no such thing as the series Twilight. But when they came out with one of them, and I don't know, it wasn't the first one, but second or third, I don't know. I never saw the whole I I don't watch those, but I saw a scene of the one where the the the guys were changing into the werewolves, and they
Hollywood had it exactly what I saw in Arkansas. I'm like, somebody knows what these things really look like. Because all the other stuff, the stupid movies like that had Jack Nicholson in them playing all of that stuff, the one uh Silver Bullet, Stephen King, they don't look like that. But Twilight knew what they look like. And a lot of this stuff that they put on these movies, they're showing you they've seen the real thing and they're putting it on there. So hopefully that clarifies this stuff. Be diligent. Look up the word diligent and do a little study. You know, this morning, yesterday, last night, you know what I had to do? I had to repent because I hadn't been as diligent. I think back of how diligent I was when I was younger. It makes what I do now look like nothing and I work all the time. But then you want to talk about I guess because I had the energy. See, don't waste your youth. Don't waste it. Do everything you can for the Lord now because your body you things later on you'll want to do and your body, you're not doing it. I know you want to do it, but you shouldn't, right? Let's stand. No more spiritual laziness. personal deliverance and freedom from every stronghold to close every open door, every broken down part of the wall, the hedge of protection in our lives, God, I pray, show it to us.
