  1. father in heaven we worship you this morning we thank you lord we invite you here god lord as we have through these worship songs we invite you here god we invite you to come and change us we ask you lord to come and fill us we ask you god to baptize us in the holy spirit afresh and anew we ask you to give us your heart and vision for the lost people around us and lord god that we don't backslide and become like them again or we don't go back to our old lives and and and ruin our testimony and ruin our witness lord we want to move on we want to press on or we want to move on to that high calling and lord we want to move on and be obedient and holy and righteous before you lord clean lord help us overcome this world i pray this flesh that tries to bring us down the temptations of the devil help us overcome these things lord that we may walk with you in white and stand before you on judgment day and hear well done good and faithful servant all i pray for your grace and help this morning father right now i take authority and i bind every demon spirit sent here today i bind principalities and powers and rulers of darkness and wicked spirits over auburn and opal like and you demons specifically sent to hinder us today to hinder people in this service to hinder me i bind you i rebuke you and i command you demons to go from us and to go from this service loose and leave every person lord i thank you we have hearts to understand we have ears to hear and that your word will change us in jesus name we pray amen and amen you may be seated hallelujah it's good to worship the lord amen praise god hallelujah before he puts up we do have a kind of a powerpoint to go along with the message this morning but i want to share uh just a little bit about why we're going here now my wife is my witness and so could my iphone be that this is something that's been on my heart for many weeks i even started you know every now and then when i know god's gonna have me preach on something i start looking up pictures or some way to illustrate uh some things so you know it helps put it in your mind and helps you remember it better but this message this morning is a burden on my heart and one of the reasons i think it's both good for both old and young is uh listen to me parents the bombardment

  2. of sexual images and lust and things they don't start when kids become teenagers okay they start much earlier than that and now we live in a society where those images and those messages are everywhere and kids see them and kids hear about them i remember when i was in third grade people coming and talking about sexual stuff in the classroom and especially it really cranked up a notch in fourth grade but we live in a season where we have got to deal with this and and so you know where i'm going this morning because i'm going to be talking about sexual lust sex sex lust and and really um judgment day because this issue is so important this issue is going to take people down right here either you're going to overcome this or it's going to overcome you there is no other way you will be defeated by lust and sexual sin or you will defeat it and it is a battle that many men and women of god have had to fight with everything in them but there's a whole segment of christianity today that has given up the fight and given into their lust and given into to living in it and have made excuses and theological doctrines so that they don't have to fight this fight and win it we're going to look at that today i want you to turn with me though first i want us to go first to the book of second timothy and let's go to second timothy chapter three this is something that i share when i go out witnessing on the street or on the campus especially when i'm talking to men now this lust is not just a problem for men okay more so maybe than others but i want to read this right here uh this this is uh second timothy chapter three we're gonna start at verse one and read down a few verses here let's let's read this know also that in the last days perilous times shall come for men shall be lovers of their own selves covetous boasters proud blasphemers disobedient to parents unthankful unholy without natural affection truce breakers false accusers incontinent and y'all underline that one we'll talk about that in a second incontinent fierce despisers of those that are good traitors heady high-minded lovers of pleasures more than lovers of god having a form of godliness but denying

  3. the power thereof from such turn away for of this sort are they which creep into houses and lead captive silly women laden with sins and led away with divers lust ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth now this is specifically a message from paul that the holy spirit spoke to him about the last days and he said in the last days it would be dangerous times perilous okay he said as it would be and really it just shows us he said it's going to be difficult times in the last days because we are bombarded we are bombarded by the sexual images around us all the time we are bombarded by the demon spirits and the rise of the occult activity in the world the spirit of antichrist is creeping over and taking over the world and it says that literally it talks about in daniel that the spirit of antichrist wearing out the saints and you know we've talked about that before about the wearing down of the mind but the battle is in the mind but i want you to see this he said one of the things that would happen to these people in the end times would that they would be incontinent now that word incontinent there in the greek means to be powerless to have no self-control whatsoever okay now you can check me out later i didn't look up and put down all these definitions in the powerpoint but it that's what it means to be powerless to have no self-control whatsoever literally the webster's dictionary defines this word incontinent as a person who is unable to control himself sexually control the mind control the actions and this is so so very serious so he said that people would just throw off self-control but here's what's interesting in talking about these people he said these people that would be incontinent unable to have any self-control that they would be lovers of pleasures more than lovers of god didn't say they wouldn't love god you hear me says they would be lovers of pleasure more than they love god this is talking about christians and i can prove this because what does he say he says they have a form of godliness they have an outward appearance of christianity because the only thing paul would call godliness you guys is christianity there is no godliness or cl cleansing or anything else in any other religion so paul says they have a form of christianity they talk about jesus they go to church they sing in the choir but they can't keep from creeping into houses and committing sexual sin now specifically of course here this talks about men creeping into houses but guess what it takes two to tango doesn't it right takes two to tango so he says that they

  4. would have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof now the power of course here's the greek word dutimus which means god's miraculous power his supernatural power can i just say that you're going to need every ounce of fight that's in you and every ounce of god's grace and help that you can get to overcome this battle now everybody knows i'm telling the truth here amen and then he goes on to say and this is what ought to be scary he said they leave these they go into these houses they creep at least it literally means they sneak around they sneak into these houses and they find silly or foolish women that are laid down that means just full of sin led away with divers lust but listen to this it says ever learning well they read their bibles they hear sermons ever learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth let me just tell you a little bit about why i'm on this today see this past week i got a text from someone i won't name the name but i got a text from someone a good christian who's saying that they they have this this friend or this acquaintance whose children um or i guess one of them are they're they're living with their girlfriend and this christian woman is saying that she's come to the realization that because jesus has forgiven our sins past present and future that they're okay to live together in fornication and sexual sin and that's what they've come to believe they've come to believe that they can believe in jesus have a form of godliness go to church sing in the choir but but because they have this false belief that sins are somehow automatically forgiven whether you confess and repent or not they've got this idea that they're once saved always saved no matter how they live so they've they've embraced this they've they're ever learning they're learning learning the errors of calvinism they're learning the eras of of you know baptist men or presbyterian theology they're learning these things but never able to really come to the knowledge of the truth because guess what the bible says jesus said if you continue in my word you will know the truth and the truth will make you free you see what i'm saying if you're moving into the truth you will be overcoming sexual sin and temptation and love i'm not saying you'll be perfect but you'll be overcoming it you won't be indulging it you won't be making excuses for you won't be creating doctrines and theologies that make it okay for you to live in those things but we are the church world is full full of these people who make excuses and the parents of some of these people are scared to tell them the truth

  5. and so they begin to embrace these doctrines but the bottom line is we don't help anybody by letting them just run off the cliff do we the truth is the truth so i wanted you to see this scripture um we can go to the next slide here i want you to understand and you guys all understand that there is a war going on in our minds now for guys for all guys this is an issue i don't care if a guy tells me it's not he's lying through his teeth okay all right the lust issue the images issue the mental issue it's in there um i'm even going to say this getting around you know you you can be this is what's so rough about it you can be a godly man and be trying to control your mind and control your eyes and and gone through deliverance and cleaned out stuff from the past and still get around somebody get around somebody you know and feel some weird you know you're married and then you get around some other woman and you feel this weird drawing toward them everybody knows what i'm talking about same with women all of us i mean you have no you you're not thinking about this person in that way and all of a sudden there's this weird pull there's this weird sexual just weird thing going on see and it's just constant because you know why our flesh even though we may be born again and filled with the holy spirit and love god the flesh has not been changed yet and we still have a corrupt nature that wants to sin and it is at war with our mind okay i want to prove this let's we can look at the next one let's just take the definition though of lust real quick so everybody knows what we're talking about here this is the strongest greek dictionary it's uh epithumia or epi i think yeah epithumia that's a fun word in it epithumia and it means a longing especially for what is forbidden now this word is also can be used in a good sense like when we see the word desire the spiritual gifts you know in first corinthians that means to we're longing for something that's good we're desiring for something that's good but this is said this term is usually used for something forbidden and let's just say let's just list it down what what what is forbidden what what is forbidden as christians we ought to know all that right sex outside of marriage forbidden by god both old and new testament right adultery when you're married sex outside of you being with your spouse right homosexuality men with men women with women bestiality i mean we could go on down the list

  6. these are things that are forbidden guess what jesus talked about in matthew 5 what lusting with your eyes to the point that it is in your heart okay and i've shared this before but i'll say it again we can't help what we see sometimes right we can't help what passes in front of our eyes sometimes but you know that's the the old saying is you can't help a bird flying over your head but you you don't have to let it build a nest in your hair i couldn't in mine anyway right so we know what jesus is talking about now i may go to that verse in a minute but i wanted you to see this that's why pornography is so bad you know that the book of leviticus talks about not looking on another person's nakedness if you're not married to them you got no business looking at somebody else and i just want to say this you know what guys and gals you know what in that pornography that's somebody's son that's somebody's daughter i think we forget that sometimes don't we some of these movies and stuff that's on that's somebody's son somebody's daughter you know now i think god my daughters are are walking with the lord but you know if they weren't i wouldn't want y'all looking at them if they were doing something they shouldn't do you get what i'm saying we don't think about some of these things but god said these things defile they defile us they make us unclean they open the doors to demons to torment us but worse than that if we are overcome by this if we don't overcome this issue we lose our soul that's why this is so important and i didn't make this up i i'm amazed that preachers don't preach this because it just tells me that they don't love their people man if i don't want you to go to heaven if i don't want to help you in every way i can make it to heaven i don't love you i just don't get these preachers unless it's just they love themselves they love themselves they love their church denomination they love their job they love their salary whatever it is but they love something more than they love their people because this stuff is all over the bible about this issue and this is what grieves me so bad let's let's look at the next one here just so you know this is my my bible i have the hebrew greek keyword study bible and it defines this word in the in its lexicon in the back as the active and individual desire re resulting from the greek word pathos which is the disease condition of the soul out of which the various lusts spring

  7. all right remember this when you were born again there was only one part of you made new the bible says we are a spirit soul and a body the spirit was made new the soul has to be renewed the soul is the mind will and emotions the soul has to be re renewed by the word of god by training it by keeping things out of it by getting in the word by meditating the mind has to be renewed and guess what the flesh [Music] will not be changed until the rapture or until you until yeah the day the rapture is whether you die before the rapture or you're alive and caught up that's when the body is changed and we get a body like jesus it won't be less than anymore okay that won't be full of sin anymore but until then you're dragging around a body that's still that flesh that body that you had as an unsaved person and paul talks about this let's go to let's go to romans 7. now i'm going to be fair today i don't believe there's any super christians okay romans 7. because i want to make it clear here even the apostle paul admitted that he struggled with lust in his heart did y'all know that but now some people take paul of the apostle paul's admission of struggling with lust in his heart and use that this roman 7 out of context as an excuse to continue in sin but how many of you want to know why do i do things i don't want to do why is a christian who loves god with all my heart soul mind history why do i do things sometimes i don't want to do well paul explains that but he also explains and that's why we have to take the whole bible he also explains yes this is in you this lust this evil is in your flesh when you want to do good evil is present with you we're going to read that he talks about that he says i will to do what's right sometimes i don't do what i want to do and sometimes i i want to do things and i don't do he he talks about that but then he he gives us the uh the clarity of you know what he's talking about in romans eight but let's look at romans seven real quick let's go down to verse 14. because it gets a little complicated here so i'm just going to try to focus in on the main things he says for we know that the law is spiritual meaning the word of god is spiritual god's commandments but i am carnal souled under sin i live in a fleshly bodies what do you say my flesh is is bound to this sinful body

  8. he says for that which i do i allow not meaning paul says there's things that i struggle with and do that i have to preach against okay that i tell others not to do right for what i would or the things that i want to do that i do not you see that how many of you want to pray sometimes and you don't he says but what i hate that do i all right now if then i do that which i would not i consent unto the law that is good so he said if i do something wrong i don't try to make excuses for it i admit the law is right see this is where homosexuals get in trouble this is why some of them will never be free because the first thing you have to do to deal with any sin or to get free from any sin or to overcome anything is you have to admit it's wrong that god is right his law is right and it is wrong if you can't admit that you're never going to get free right i've told homosexuals that until you admit that it is against the commandments of god it is wrong it is sin and it will damn you to hell until you can admit the truth you will never be free from it all right so that's what he's saying here but then he he clarified look at verse 17 he says now then it is no more i that do it but sin that dwells in me for i know that in me that is in my flesh dwells no good thing for to will or the desire to do good is present with me but how to perform that which is good i find not and so he's talking about this struggle all right now let's go on down i want to skip down to verse 22. now this is paul talking he says for i delight in the law of god after the inward man but i see another law in my members warring against the law of my mind and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members so he says here hey i delight in the law of god after the my spirit man and even my mind wants just delights in god's word wants to do what god wants more than anything else he said but i see another law in me too in my members that's in my body warring against the law of my mind and bringing me into this miserable captivity anybody ever felt miserable because you're like i mean anybody that really loves god and wants to live holy and obedient and righteous hates don't you hate it when you when you lose your temper and you and you show show your behind or you let the cuss word slip out or you you you let that you let that part of the you know you let that movie roll on a little bit longer than you should or the tv show now you don't even have to be a movie right

  9. and we hate it see but the difference is if you lie to yourself if you lie to yourself and make excuses for it and take the false beliefs that god's okay with it and that you can indulge it again and again and again and again and again and again and again and you're going to be okay you're falling into the trap because what is paul people take this in romans 7 and they go see paul struggled so you know paul paul they think well paul struggled so you know he understands and they take it this leap from a man just struggling with some lust in his heart to you know being a homosexual or being a a habitual adulterer or being a fornicator or whatever and they think well i can live with my girlfriend or i can live you know boy with my boyfriend and they think okay because paul struggled so you know god understands but you got to keep reading because he says o wretched man that i am who shall deliver me from the body of this death i thank god through jesus christ our lord so then i with my mind serve the law of god but with the flesh the law of sin therefore or there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in christ jesus and i hate the translations that take this part out who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit but just for those who those have translations that take that last line out it's repeated again in verse four but he says there is no condemnation to them who are in christ jesus born again love jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit and the word the verb walk here's present tense greek verb which means ongoing continuous action taking place in the present so he says the person who is not just indulging chasing after running after just repetitively habitually just you know they they don't really have any remorse they just have embraced it i i said they've made peace with their sin and they're just indulging it they're in the flesh and they're going to die and they're going to experience the second death in hell i'll prove that in a second but he says here there is no condemnation to those who don't habitually walk after the flesh but those who what walk after the spirit all right i'm going to show you how that works and say but look let's read a few more he said for the law of the spirit of life in christ jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death for what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh god sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and foreseen condemned sin in the flesh that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit for they that are after the flesh do mine continually the things of the flesh but they that are after the spirit the things of the spirit for to be carnally minded is death

  10. but to be spiritually minded is life and peace it boils down to this what are you chasing after what are you indulging what are you making excuses for what are you doing over and over and over again turn with me to uh i got to do this let's go to leave this slide up here we're going to come back to these but go to first first john chapter two i also had a debate with some calvinist on facebook this this week is calvinism one day i'll just destroy it on a sunday morning but calvinism to me is the most miserable progressions of false doctrines ever created by man um and i can prove it it's just it's just hellish it's just from hell because it's so fatalistic god chose some to go to heaven chose some to go to hell you know if you're chosen you cannot be lost oh here's the most blasphemous doctrine of calvinism jesus didn't die for everyone only the elect so that jesus didn't shed his blood for every person's that so that every person could be saved basically they teach it's not god's will that everyone be saved and yet the bible says god desires all men to be saved i mean it's just a damnable heresy from hell and there are people just following these guys but see what you believe ends up showing up in your actions if you believe you're chosen and eternally secured no matter how you live your life when temptation comes and when the flesh rises up you will break because your belief system is flawed if you don't believe this book the only thing that that has held me at times of great testing and temptation is that i believe this book and fear god amen first john let's look at first john chapter two this is one of the things i had to quote to him i want you to see what he says here all right verse 1 my little children these things i write unto you that you sin not and if any man sin we have an advocate with the father jesus christ the righteous and he is the propitiation for our sins and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world and hereby we do know that we know him if we keep his commandments he that saith i know him and keepeth not his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him but whoso keepeth his word in him verily is the love of god perfected and this is how we know that we are in him he that saith he abideth in him ought himself to walk

  11. even as he walked now let's stop let's back up see this is why i mean of course this is in my book but and so it's almost i've preached this so many times i don't even have to look anymore but my bible actually has the abbreviations a little little tells you what the verb tenses are and y'all have heard me say this before there's arrows tense greek verbs there's present tense greek verbs and there's perfect tense greek verbs an heiress tense greek verb is something an action that happened and it's completed and it's not repeating and continuing in the present okay a perfect tense greek verb is something that happens and the results of it but the results continue okay but the present tense greek verb is an ongoing continuous action taking place in the present so having said that look at when he says right here he says my little children i write these things unto you that you sin not eris tense greek verb meaning not even one time see i love how god's like nope we can't even make an excuse for one right this is he said not even something that's repeating you know did jesus say to the woman caught in adultery go and sin less okay god to be god and to be holy and perfect he has to demand us to be the same yet he knows we won't but he has to demand it or he would not be he would not be the holy perfect god he has to demand perfect holiness right so he says here go and sin no more so here he says little children i write to you that you don't sin and let me just say this you don't have to commit adultery you don't have to commit homosexuality you don't have to look at pornography you don't have to you see what i'm saying you can avoid it it says with every temptation god provides a way to escape a lot of times we just don't find the way of escape because we don't look for it we don't wait or we don't press toward the way of escape right but god says with every temptation there is a way of escape right so he says my little children these things are writing that you sin not heiress tense verb sin not even one time he says but if any man's sin heiress tense not a repeating ongoing thing that's that's continuing this is what the church world does not understand because preachers have preached error for so long what he's saying there if somebody is in a sin that they are repeating over and over and over again and they're doing it right now guess what there is no propitiation for that there is no automatic forgiveness for sins past present and future no matter what you do it's one of the biggest lies satan has ever told you know that that that is the earliest lie of satan god says to adam and eve don't eat this tree you eat of it you die

  12. and the devil comes along and says oh no you can eat of it and you won't die same lie it's been going on forever you can disobey god and still still live still go to heaven still have eternal life and the bible teaches from genesis to revelation no that is not the case that voice is always i don't care if it's doctor divinity you hear me that voice that says you can do what you want you can you're eternally secure nothing you can do can take you away you can't be lost all that is the voice of satan every single time i call it the oldest trick in the book because it is the oldest trick in the book that's why solomon said there's nothing new under the sun okay so he says i write unto you that you sin not if any man sin that means he doesn't continue doing it he confesses his sin he repents he does everything in his power to stop that and turn to god then jesus steps in as the propediation for that sin and it's cleansed and washed away okay but what does he say he makes it clear this is how look at verse 3 this is how we know we know him if we keep his command obedience okay now some people when you start preaching like this they start going oh it's you're talking about you're talking about salvation by works no no no no no no you know why because salvation by works means i would have to be teaching you well if you don't go witnessing five times next week and if you don't come to church ten times you see what i'm saying then i'm giving you works now what i'm telling you is that you have to stay in relationship with jesus christ whatever that means to you first according to this word and secondly what he tells you to do amen see the bible says and this just really throws off these calvinist and these reformed freaks and all these people out here that worship luther and calvin and all this stuff and you know luther did some good things but he also did some bad things we don't follow a man off the cliff just because he did something good okay but the bottom line is is that james says that we were justified he talks about he says was not our father abraham justified by works oh that goes against everything you know this grace alone you hear what i'm saying the whole reformed theology he says was not our father abraham justified by works when he offered up isaac and he used that example and here's the difference see what why did why did that work justify abraham

  13. well that work justified him because abraham had a relationship with god he heard god's voice and he did what god told him to do so that walk of faith in a relationship with god that obedience that's combined with relationship is what brought justification and god's righteousness into his life but had abraham just decided in his own mind i'm gonna go sacrifice isaac to show god how much i love him he has created himself a religious work whereby he thinks he's being righteous see there's a difference between good works and fruit that comes from abiding in the vine fruit and works aren't the same thing sometimes they look like the same thing but they're not the same thing if you abide in the vine you will bear fruit amen if you if you obey god and you your you stay in relationship with him then you can hear him and do these things okay now paul called it a war this this thing with the flesh paul called it a war in romans 7. peter called it a war look at first peter 2 11 real quick come on y'all stay with me now we're going to finish this thing [Music] found out this morning just this month kevin showed me that we've had what 30 30 32 downloads of the podcast in the united states but also from we've had downloaded from great britain costa rica canada south america south africa um pretty interesting people are listening so that's why sometimes i know you guys know some of this but i go ahead and cover it anyway all right what did i say first peter 2 11 i know it anyway i don't have to turn there what does he say dearly beloved who's he talking to yes he is dearly beloved i beseech you as strangers and pilgrims meaning this is not our home y'all i beseech you as strangers abstain keep yourself from fleshly lust that war against the soul keep yourself from these things but he calls it a war again now i want you to turn with me to first corinthians chapter nine because paul called this a fist fight you know i remember a preacher years ago [Music] when paul said you know i fought a good fight and i've kept the faith what's a good fight

  14. it's when you win exactly listen i was a fighter and uh [Music] you know i made the mistake one time trying to fight five guys by myself i lost that was not a good fight amen but when you win it's a good fight guy pulled a knife on me one night was going to stab me in the back i took it away from him and knocked him unconscious that was a good fight amen i lived i'm here preaching right so the idea is to win but see this fight listen to me this fight is for your soul eternal soul all right and i'm gonna prove it right here first corinthians nine go down to verse 24. now paul starts telling me he says know ye not that they which run in a race run all but one receives the prize so run that you may obtain or run to win we're not running to lose he says every man that strives for the mastery is temperate or self-controlled in all things and he was talking about you know people that want to win a race go out and what train and watch what they eat they're self-control because they want to win all right he says now they do it to obtain a corruptable crown but we an incorruptible and then he says i therefore so run not as uncertainly so fight i not is one that beats the air i'm fighting something but i'm not i'm not shadow boxing here this is a real fight this is a real war and he says but i keep under or keep my body under control and bring it into subjection lest by any means when i have preached to others i myself should be a castaway oh let's go to the next slide here castaway what was paul saying the greek word of dokim adokimos love these greek words don't you here's what he says paul plainly taught does this sound like paul's teaching he's eternally secured no matter how he lives his life he says here and i'm gonna prove it he says that he could become a castaway if he didn't keep his fleshly body under control he says and that means to be unapproved rejected by implication worthless castaway rejected reprobate now if you have any question whether this means he could be lost in romans 1 when it talks about homosexuals and and lesbians that god finally gives them over to a reprobate mind is the same greek word and god gives up on them listen i'm going to tell you right now

  15. that's why so many some of the homosexuals are so adamantly fight everything christian some of them not i'm not god i don't know which ones but some of them god has just given them over and i'm done and god turns them over to a reprobate mine and they're done that's why it's like talking to a wall sometimes but you talk to them anyway because you don't know which ones are done and which ones may come on in and get saved amen but reprobate so let's look paul said he could if he didn't keep his body under control he would be a reprobate go to galatians chapter 5. you all have heard these verses many times galatians 5. again i'm just sticking with paul's writings here because you know peter warned in second peter chapter 3 that there would be people who would twist paul's writings to their own destruction and that's what you got going on now and what did i just say which one oh yeah galatians 5 19. now if we have any questions about what the works of the flesh are what does he say and you can go to the next one brother you can see this is what either we overcome lust and sexual sin or those sins overcome us and we lose our eternal soul and here here is the scriptures and i'm going to go give you a few the same apostle who talked about grace and faith and being justified by faith how many of you know faith without works is dead faith without corresponding actions right they leave that one out a lot of times but here he says here's what the flesh the works of the flesh are manifest which are these this is galatians 5 19. now the works of the flesh are manifest or revealed which are these adultery fornication the greek word pornia sound familiar uncleanness lasciviousness that's licentiousness idolatry witchcraft hatred variance emulations wrath strife sedition heresies endings murders drunkenness and revelings and the such like of which i have i tell you before as i have also told you in time past that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of god is that in your bible did he say some of those who do those things no he said if you do the greek word for

  16. do there is praso p-r-a-s-s-o and it means to practice habitually so the habitual adulterer the habitual fornicator the habitual pornography viewer the habitual homosexual the habitual you get what i'm saying that practices it they live in it it's a lifestyle it's repeated over and over and over and over and over there's no confession of it as sin there's no repentance there's no turning away there's no fighting it trying to overcome it it's just indulged it's a practice it's a lifestyle see that means if if you're a christian and you fall back into this stuff and you're overcome by means that it becomes a lifestyle again and it has defeated you the word overcome means to defeat or to get the victory over or the mastery over it's actually a military term so to overcome so he says here if you practice these things you will not inherit the kingdom of god right paul said it in ephesians he said it in first corinthians ephesians 5 first corinthians 5 right this is how serious this is now go with me to to revelation revelation chapter 21. who i do this because i love you i don't want you to be deceived by anybody or anything i want you to go to heaven revelation 21 starting at verse 6. i'm gonna i'm gonna back up to verse five i love this because this is straight from the throne of god amen and he that sat upon the throne said behold i make all things new and he said unto me john talking here he said unto me right for these words are true and faithful and he said unto me it is done i am alpha and omega the beginning and the end and i give unto him that is a thirst of the fountain of the water of life freely he that overcometh he that overcomes shall inherit all things and i will be his god and he shall be my son but the fearful and the unbelieving and the abominable and murderers and whoremongers and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone which is the second death he that overcomes do you see that he that conquers he that fights this fight and wins this fight

  17. right but look what he says there he gives a little list fearful unbelieving think about that for a second the abominable that means things god hates one of which is homosexuality murders which would include abortion whoremongers let's just stop right there for a second you know what a whoremonger is one of the definitions in the greek is the libertine anybody know what a libertine means it's a person that throws off all morality [Music] what's right they throw off everything that's right and it's like i can do what i want to do whenever i want to do it and god's okay with it god's winking my sins are forgiven past present and future lies lies lies well i believe in jesus don't all i have to do is believe no sorry god's coming back for those and those are entering and who obey the gospel not just believe the gospel believing's the first step see preachers they quit preaching that you have to repent okay now let me let me end with this let's go back to first john chapter chapter one we'll end with this because i'm not trying to make anybody feel condemned here okay because we all even as christians who want to do the right things sometimes we don't what do you do about that do you give up and just give in when you fall when you struggle better not lord here's here's the thing let's read this first john 1. uh let's just start at verse 8. he says if we say and and he says we and this is the apostle john so he's including himself so i believe he's speaking to christians and he says if we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us so anybody walks around going down i don't struggle ever i don't know sin i'm victory overcome i'm you know never a lustful thought never uh never a slip up liar liar pants on fire right all right if we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves but if does that say if in your bible in that

  18. next verse so your sins aren't automatically forgiven past present and future right baptist preachers out there my god where did if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness if first we must confess if we say that we have not sinned we make him a liar and his word is not in us amen so i know every one of you at one time or another has struggled don't ever think that that's abnormal but don't ever for one second think that you can give into it again and again and again and again and it's gonna be okay and i and i i have to go to one more verse i'm sorry one more passage because there's some skeptics who'll be listening to this second peter too since we're talking about overcoming this is probably the most damning passage of scripture besides hebrews 10 against once saved always saved and this runaway grace false teaching that's out there the second peter chapter two i just you gotta read verse 18 because it's talking about false teachers the whole chapter you talk about false teachers and false prophets and then he gets down to explaining what they what they teach how they talk to you and verse 18 he says for when they speak great swelling words of vanity like your sins are forgiven past present and future and then that sound lofty and religious all right for when they speak great swelling words of vanity they allure through the lust of the flesh and through much wantedness those that were clean who were they who who are people luring into lust and uncleanness with their swelling words of vanity those who were clean the devil's got to unsave people folks he's after you you understand if you can't fall away and be lost why is he after you why is he so determined to make it happen you see what i'm saying well let's just let's go on he says while they promise them liberty they themselves are servants of corruption for of whom a man is overcome of the same he is brought into bondage now look at this for if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the lord and

  19. savior jesus christ now let's stop right there how do you escape the pollutions of the world there's but one way right you must be born again through faith and repentance and the cleansing blood of jesus being applied through faith and repentance that is what cleans you from the pollutions of the world and so he says that he said for if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge and the world knowledge there means experience a full perception of the lord jesus christ and they are again entangled therein entangled in what the pollutions of the world they're again entangled therein and overcome you see the difference there are christians who fall back into things and get tangled up and mess again but in some of them repent and come out again but if you're overcome in them meaning you're defeated it becomes a lifestyle you create doctrines and theologies to to bar the doors and put a cage around you and you make it a lifestyle again drunkenness sexual sin pornography lust these things that the bible says well damn your soul he says if you are entangled again in that old lifestyle and overcome and you die in that without confession and repentance and getting out of it he says the latter end is worse with them than the beginning for it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them where are people going who have never known the way of righteousness hell hell eternal damnation in hell we read it a minute ago the second death right and he says if after they've escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the lord and they go back get tangled up in that mess again and then better overcome and stay in it die in it jesus comes and they're in it hear me the latter end is worse when then the beginning it had been better for them not to have ever known meaning clearly hell will be worse for those who knew jesus christ and return to their old lifestyle than it will be for someone who never knew him who never believed that's bible folks amen now why do i say this many of you already y'all in here have heard me teach these

  20. things before some of these verses this is a burden on my heart if your life is right in this area hallelujah it's where you're supposed to be you ought to if you've been in this church for a while anyway you ought to know all of this and be right okay but here's the thing this message this understanding how many people do you know are bound up in this that you hear this mess come out of their mouth at work at school on the street it's just sex sex sex lust lust lust perversion pervert it's all the time people just they're just eating up with it they live in it they talk about it i mean their mind and heart is so full of it and then you'll say but are you a christian oh yeah oh yeah i go to this church or oh yeah i got saved when i was 10. and you know what they might have i mean i know that there's some people that say they're saved i preached on that last week there's some people that think they're saved and they've never been born again but folks there are again christians who have gone back to their lifestyle of sin that is a fact this bible teaches it james chapter five one of my one of my favorite passages and this goes along with with with its it we have to share it with other people he says brethren if any of you do air from the truth and one convert him or bring him back let him know that he that converts the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death not physical death a soul from eternal death he says brethren if we see a brother or a sister or someone that calls themselves a christian and they're living in that lifestyle and we try to talk to them and they tell us well i'm i'm a christian jesus you know i'm saved i'm going to go to heaven you've got to say no you're not and you've got to be able to show them or else they somebody maybe they'll never know because there's plenty of churches and pastors out there that look that'll tell them they're okay in their sin and seal their damnation forever and that's why so many preachers are going to burn in hell for leading sheep into hell i hate to be so strong about it but it just grieves my heart to knowing it has for over 20 years i have watched people's lives destroyed by false teachers and dead lukewarm churches with their calvinistic theology and their lies and they so pompous about their five-point calvinism and they talk so highly swelling words of vanity sick read the bible and believe it all not just the parts

  21. that you twist and rinse out i mean literally i had this guy trying to defend calvinism say when i said that verse in in first john 2 when i said jesus died for not the bible says not for our sins only but also for the sins of the whole world and he said well there are places in the bible i'm sure that all doesn't mean all you know what i said to him do we have to stoop to the level of bill clinton and go you know it depends on what the definition of is is to defend a doctrine that is really an idolatry it's just it's just theological idolatry because you can't dare admit you're wrong oh i tell you people need they need the truth and all of us have to be voices of it and that's why you know what blesses me more than anything what blesses me more than you coming to church and not in your head and saying amen that blesses me don't get me wrong but it blesses me when i hear you sharing it with other people out there that's what really blesses me whether they ever come to church here or not but the fact that you're taking what what you're learning and what you see in the scriptures and you give it to somebody else and try to help them out of darkness and out of sin and at a deception and lead them to the road that's going to lead to heaven and not hell amen i'll quit let's pray thank you jesus god help us god the world doesn't understand sometimes that christians struggle sometimes they think we have to be perfect before we can preach to them but lord you want us to overcome these things you want us to get victory over these things you don't want us to ever lose this fight and and be overcome by lust and sin
