foreign [Music] Grace School of ministry we welcome you uh those who may be watching we never know we may sometimes we put these on Facebook and YouTube so if you happen to be just joining in class we welcome you too uh today we are week 10 and it's really Beyond week 10 because we're not counting the first week of the uh of the conference but this is actually class number 10 here on in Redemption redemption in this class just so you know the definition of this class is we we call it Redemption but it's dealing with the nature of Salvation what it means to be born again what it means uh what is necessary for us to be saved how do we continue to walk with the Lord so you know that's why we've started from the beginning talking about the blood of Jesus and the Redemption that is only through the blood and righteousness that is only through the blood of Jesus and uh of course the last couple of weeks I think or was it been just one but anyway I've had you guys on I know last week you guys uh watched a video an older video but dealing with the issue of the law versus Grace or the New Testament and Old Testament and so we're going to continue that today because we're going to look at the book of Galatians a little and the book of Hebrews and we're going to see how much we can get through what's that uh you know what I think I did not lock the door um anyway we will get into that but first I want to go to the book of Galatians this morning because we're going to continue to talk about the differences uh between the old Covenant law uh and the old Covenant requirements versus the New Covenant requirements of course many of you know there's been an ongoing debate in battle with certain Torah observant he break roots individuals leaders out there and people and it continues but uh this is something you have to be grounded in because it's not a secondary issue it's not a side issue it is a Salvation issue and that is how are we saved how do we stay in that or or keep that and abide in Christ how do we do that is it do we have to go back and keep old Covenant rights rituals ceremonies sabbaths feasts new moons all those things or do we walk in faith in obedience to a new law a new uh commandment set forth by Jesus and the apostles in the New Testament and I think that's easy to understand but as
we get into this this morning it's something I felt like we needed to as we as we move forward in this class and Redemption again this is I I guess we'll call this Redemption this is redemption class 10 part 3 on law versus Grace um our Old Testament versus new um but I want to read here because we're going to study try to study through the whole book of uh Hebrews and possibly Galatians 2 but I just want to look at the beginning of Galatians in my Bible now this is just the introduction because part of studying you might need to turn me down just there but part of studying uh the Bible or any particular book is you need to know who he's writing to especially it's in the Epistles who is this written to and why you know why is why is the holy spirit moving the Apostle to write this letter to a church or to a group of churches or to you know who who's he talking to now the book of Galatians I find it interesting because of course the Torah observers the he break roots movement out there they will tell they tell their new converts well no one understands the book of Galatians but us and I've discovered the Smoking Gun as to why and and the root of their why they think they have a completely new understanding and I'll get it more into this later but uh in what was it in the 1950s as they were digging in the uh and looking and searching the caves in qumran and the Dead Sea Scrolls there was a uh several fragments found and one of them is and you need to write this down this is the Q4 mmt because it was qumran K4 and this manuscript mmt and again there was I think there was that there was a handful of them all right and this particular one of these manly scripts that was translated um was called the precepts of the law or some people want to say it's the works of the law and so what some of these Torah teachers and people have been falsely led to believe is that what Paul was referring to in Galatians when he says we are not under the works of the law they say he was referring to this document that was discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls and that he was referring to this document which basically is all the additions the fence laws the expansions of the rabbis uh around the law that it's all the extras and so what Paul was referring to is all these extra laws for instance let's just say that I made a law and this is what we call a fence Law whatever that they the priest the
Pharisees and the Sadducees and the rabbis would do all right let's say there's a law you can't go in my backyard right but there's no fence around my backyard so to help you make sure you didn't go in my backyard the law didn't say I had to put up a fence but I put up a fence to help you keep the law right of not going in my backyard so the of course the Pharisees and the Sadducees and the rabbits they did add a lot of things a lot you know of rituals and traditions of men that they came up with to try to help people not break the laws basically here's the law I'm going to put something else in the way so that you make sure you don't break the law right so that was kind of what they're doing now what they say is that's what Paul's referring to but the problem is once again the Torah pushers the Torah observers the judaizers as we're going to see what that is in a second that want to push people back under the law of Moses the New Covenant Believers what they fail to realize is that if you go look at Galatians the context of what he's talking about is he talking about this document or is he talking about the Covenant from Sinai see Galatians 4 says he talks about Sarah and Hagar are an allegory of the two Covenants so do you see how they they'll they'll find something like this and they'll twist the entire thing out of country what's amazing is Pete they harp and harp and harp on Peter's warning in second Peter 3 about people twisting Paul's writings but they're the ones actually twisting it Paul's right because Paul's writings destroys the idea that to be a real Christian to really be righteous to really prove your love for God or even to prove you're saved that you have to go back and try to keep the Sabbath The Feast the new moons of circumcision the dietary laws the zits eats and all this other stuff they think you you you know they're they're pushing that you have to go do um Paul dealt with that in the book of Galatians the book of Hebrews it's dealt with in other letters and of course the apostles answered this question in Acts 15 we've kind of already covered that I mean the question too and how they try to dance around acts 15 I still don't know because the question was do the Gentiles do the New Testament believers that have come to Jesus outside of this thing we call Judaism do they have to be circumcised and keep the law of Moses what just circumcision do they have to be circumcised and keep the law of Moses it had nothing to do with this document The Works of the law or the precepts of the law all these fence ordinances but see this is what they do they have to reach they have to grab for these straws and they have to try to make it work but
I'm just going to read to you as we get into this this morning because I I've been meaning to do this in my Bible I have the Hebrew Greek keyword Study Bible again some of the notes and information is really good the study guides are really good it's got the Strong's Greek and Hebrew dictionaries in it it has the Greek verb tenses guide it has a lot of great study tools the introductions to the books uh kind of giving you who they're writing to the date the time period the people the circumstances all of that's really good and I'm just going to read part of this about Galatians this is the introduction to Galatians here but this is what he says about uh who Paul's writing to and why in The Book of Galatians let's look at and this is It's and I'm just going to read it to you so just listen it is generally accepted that Paul visited these Believers twice before he wrote this epistle during his absence teachers from Palestine or from Jerusalem Judea area called judaizers uh uh came from Palestine or from there called judaizers and insisted that these Gentile believers could not be true Christians until they submitted to the Jewish ordinance of circumcision furthermore they maintained that the Galatians must adhere to the law of Moses these naive galatian Christians accepted their teachings just as enthusiastically as they had Paul's the purpose of the book of Galatians is to combat this vicious heresy in which the work of Christ was considered insufficient for salvation uh the first way Paul chose to do this was to disprove the judaizer's claim that Paul was not a true Apostle and it amazing that that was the way they came at it Paul was not a true apostle they maintained that since he was not one of the 12 original Apostles he must have received his teachings in Doctrine second hand from the other Apostles Paul showed that he was equal with his uh with the original Apostles because he received his Doctrine from a revelation straight from Jesus Christ he had even rebuked the Apostle Peter when there was a dispute over whether he as a Jew should be allowed to disregard the the uh the Mosaic law and uh or not and that whole thing with the uh when they came from Jerusalem and and Peter was eating with the Gentiles then he separated himself and caused a great division because he was afraid and so even Peter's momentary slit back in trying to keep the law Paul rebuked right so that's what he's talking about there it says once he he had established his Apostolic Authority he proved that men are justified by faith in Christ atoning work rather than by The Works of the law this leads into the final topic of being led by the spirit the threat of the judaizers
came to an end at the fall of Jerusalem in 70 A.D I think they're completely wrong about that because it did continue on with certain gnostics and others in the ebionites but anyway just to give you a little background there so let's let's go over to the book of Hebrews then we'll go over to the book of Hebrews and that's where we'll start there just just showing you that you look at why so let's look at I'm gonna I'm gonna also read this um here in the book of Hebrews this is an introduction to the book of Hebrews from my Bible and um and then we're going to get into starting in chapter one um of course I'm not going to get into the debate the first paragraph of this talks about who wrote it most people believe that it was Paul um you see you CBS the father of church history I believe Paul wrote it of course origin or region or however you say his name the heretic said Paul didn't write it so I think I'll go with eusebius on that one but to tell you the truth when you read it and then you see how it ends in fact if you go to the very end chapter 13 of the book of Hebrews you see this which is almost tells you without a doubt that it was Paul because he says here um he says verse 23 well verse 22 he says I beseech you Brethren suffer the word of exhortation for I've written a letter unto you in few words know ye that our brother Timothy is at Liberty with whom if he comes shortly I will see you so the fact that it was Timothy and he was talking about there at the end I believe Paul you know it was Timothy was basically Paul's right-hand man so that's why I believe that it was clearly it was Paul all right but let's read this it says um the purpose of the Epistle of the book of Hebrews was to reassure Jewish believers that their faith in Jesus as the Messiah was Secure and legitimate also it was intended to prepare them for the impending uh disaster of the Roman destruction of Jerusalem the temple with its system of animal sacrifices the office of the high priest would soon be done away with just as Jesus had predicted the book of Hebrews explains that there's no need no more need for a priest to intercede before God on individual's behalf since Christ's death provided Believers with direct access to God's Throne furthermore the blood of Christ now continually takes away sin the book of Hebrews is divided into two major sections the first deals with doctrinal issues the second focuses on practical living in addition to this it contains several warning to Jewish Christians Listen to
this uh not to revert back to Judaism and that system of worship it was evident that these Believers were weak in their faith and that they should be they should have been teaching others but they themselves still require teaching the writer urges them to grow and not remain as babes in Christ a major theme of the book often expressed by words are better and great is the superiority and preeminence of Christ so that gives you a little bit of the background so what you had in the book of Galatians you had these Christian judaizers who believed no you couldn't really be right with God unless you went back under the law of Moses and were circumcised and kept the feast and the sabbaths and all that stuff Paul addresses that clearly now today we've got the Hebrew Roots Torah observers trying to twist that using some fragment from the Dead Sea scroll to say that's what Paul was referring to but again twisting and taking out of context because Paul was clearly talking about the two covenants one from Sinai and the and the New Covenant all right so I'm just giving you kind of an overview now the book of Hebrews was being addressed more to the Jewish Christians within you know within the Jerusalem Judea Samaria within Israel because they were under great persecution as after they accepted Jesus as a messiah they were under great persecution and and almost by coercion and force to go back to keeping the law make sure you go to the temple make sure you go get your lamb and your goats and your turtle doves and all that stuff for your sacrifices and so that's what the book of Hebrews is written to he says some of them were even beginning to believe that Jesus was not the Messiah or that he was just an angel or a messenger or just a man and and this is the same error that's happened you see this in the Hebrew Roots movement right now and among many Torah movements they they diminished their beginning many of them are beginning to move away from Jesus as God In the Flesh they don't understand the Trinity uh the Triune nature of God they begin to deny that and um I I even had a message last night I have to share this I had a message last night where a person showed me screenshots of them going back and forth with a Torah Observer saying that the Jesus that we believe in the New Testament New Covenant Jesus that we believe in is really the Antichrist this is how far this is going um I know that that he was a false Messiah because he he basically set up a new covenant and they don't they don't accept that most of a lot of them now are not even accepting the New Covenant and I have uh some videos of some of the leaders of this movement mocking the New Covenant this is this is where this goes this is this is why this is important and this is why I'm addressing it as a pastor and
as a leader but I'm addressing it in this school because you will have to confront this and deal with this here on out now it's not going away so you know you're going to have to deal with it so we're going to look at the book of Hebrews in context and then the Lord has kind of shown me some things even re-studying this recently uh that I haven't seen before but let's let's look at chapter one so we're going to start it we're gonna we're gonna do a systematic study here of the book of Hebrews all right so chapter one verse one all right look at this remember what we're dealing with they were beginning to drift these these born-again Believers were beginning to fall back under great pressure of both Jews and Christian judaizers okay so he starts this off he said God who at Sun Dry times in diverse manners spake in times past unto the fathers by the prophets hath in these last days spoken unto us by his son whom he hath the appointed heir of All Things by whom also he made the worlds who being the brightness of his glory and the express image of his person and upholding All Things by the word of his power when he had himself purged our sins set down of the right hand of the Majesty on High verse 4. being so much better than the angels as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent Name than they for under which of the Angels said he at any time Thou Art my son this day have I begotten thee and again I will beat him a father and he shall be to me a son and again when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world he saith now this and let all the angels of God worship Him worship Him does God allow us to worship anything but him so let's just remember that well keep going and of the angels He saith who maketh his angels spirits and his ministers the flame of fire but unto the son he saith now listen to this unto the son he saith thy Throne o God what thy Throne oh God the son is God you see that and this is very important point we're going to see here he says but unto the son he saith thy Throne of God is forever and ever a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom thou has loved righteousness and hated iniquity therefore God even thy God hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows and thou Lord in the beginning has laid the foundation of the Earth in the heavens or the works of thy hands they Shall Perish but thou remainest they all shall wax old as doth a garment and as a vesture Thou shalt fold them up and they shall be changed but they are at the same and thy years fell not but to which the Angels said he at any time sit on my right hand until I make thine enemies
thy footstool are not they all the Angels rather not they all ministering Spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be Heirs of salvation so as we read this in chapter one The Point he's getting across to these Hebrew Christians who are struggling who are contemplating going back or beginning to doubt that Jesus is God In the Flesh remember the teaching of the scripture the teaching of the Apostles y'all remember this the teaching of the Apostles Matthew 1 23. right what does it say Jesus Christ born of a virgin Emmanuel God With Us right that was what the apostles taught God With Us in the beginning was the word the word was with God and the Word was God John 1 1 all things were made by him so what you see here in Hebrews 1 is basically I believe again the Apostle Paul making it clear to these Hebrew Christians that Jesus is not just an angel he's not a man he's not just a messenger he's not just a prophet he is both the Son of God as a title but he is God who became flesh he is the express image of God's person all right and then he uses old Covenant Old Testament scriptures he's quoting them he says but to the son he saith thy Throne o God is forever and ever and he says let all the angels of God worship him right so what is he he's he's immediately in the first chapter he's dealing with who Jesus is this is why I've been doing this you I really for the last three years I have been pushing over and over again in sermon after sermon teaching after teaching message after message radio show after radio show that Jesus Christ according to Colossians 2 8 9 is the fullness of the godhead bodily that we go back to Isaiah 9 6 when it says the son will be given and his name will be called wonderful counselor the Mighty God the Everlasting father the Prince of Peace that yes God has three distinct parts but Jesus the the physical manifestation of God Jesus is fully God In the Flesh and anything that diminishes that anything that takes away from that is satanic it's demonic it's Error okay the moment someone just like our our Mr skiba does well he's just the right hand you just diminished it because how can the right hand my right is my right hand the fullness of Dean no it's part right and it's a part I could live with or without you could chop it off and I
could keep living but you take my spirit away from me my soul away from me my body away from me I can't continue can I no so Jesus he deals with this he's not an angel he's not just a messenger he is God In the Flesh he is the creator because he says here by whom verse 2 by whom also he made the worlds and he upholds all things by the word of his power and it much he's so much better than angels He says in verse 4 to which the angel said he had entered time Thou Art my son this day I've begotten thee and I know for some for some of us that's a hard thing to grasp how God divided himself in that way to demonstrate a father and a son relationship but again he just did it for us he did that to demonstrate the relationship he wanted to have with us um and of course having those three distinct Parts a trinity yes they can separate out and be distinct from the other but he is one God one God with three parts and Jesus is the fullness of that he is the full manifestation he he the father dwells in him fully the holy spirit in him fully uh expressing basically God expressing himself in a human body and that is that that is the doctrine clear doctrine of the prophets and of the Apostles and so anything that begins again anything that begins to draw you away from that belief and this is a big partners and I'm telling you this is a big part of the Torah Hebrew Roots movement out there they are really really it's really turning dark and satanic now that's chapter one he clears up there's a difference between Jesus and angels and that and then he even let me just add this let's go back to verse one and two he's even making a point with this and you need to listen he says God who at sun-dried times and in diverse manner spake in times past unto the fathers by the prophets it's about the old Covenant he even does this he says hath in these last days spoken to us by his son whom Heath appointed heir of all things and by whom also he made the worlds do you see that what he's saying is is guess what yes God spoke to us through the prophets through the old Covenant we don't diminish that but now we have a greater prophet we have a greater messenger we have one who brought the New Covenant to us
and his name is Jesus God In the Flesh the one whom all the Angels worship okay it's pretty awesome isn't it now having said that he knew again they were under great pressure to diminish Jesus because remember what what did Jesus one of the things that the Pharisees and I know I digress here a little bit but I know I need to move on but one of the things the Pharisees charged Jesus with was blasphemy because even though Jesus when Jesus said to them I am the Son of God or when he said before Abraham was I am to them they knew what he was saying they said he made himself equal with God or God and thus they called it blasphemy so can you imagine the pressure that new born-again Jewish Christians were under living in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria can you imagine the pressure they're under for them to say Jesus Christ Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God or the Messiah or God In the Flesh for them to say that they could be charged with blasphemy and stoned to death so they were under great pressure to say you know and and maybe just again to ease back to ease off well okay you know they're around some Jews what do you believe do you believe Jesus well well no I just believe he's you know like an angel just a messenger and Paul was like you're falling away you're being pressured into error you're being pressured into apostasy you're being pressured into some dangerous air area here you'll see him address that as very dangerous as we move forward in the book of Hebrews but let's go to chapter two so after he says God now speaks to us through his son after he says he's better than the Angels after he says he is God all the Angels worship Him and he puts that difference between them he says this let's go to chapter 2 verse one he says therefore or for that reason because Jesus is God In the Flesh Jesus is now speaking to us lest at any time we should let them slip you see how this makes sense for if the word spoken by Angels was steadfast and every transgression and Disobedience received a just recombins of reward he's talking about what under the old Covenant if if every word spoken under that old Covenant was steadfast how shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord the Lord Jesus and was confirmed to unto us by them that heard him God also bearing them witness both with signs and wonders and diverse Miracles and Gifts of the Holy Ghost according to his will
so here again he says listen you better pay attention if the old Covenant was steadfast and and a lot of that given to them by Angels who who appeared to Daniel and gave him all that stuff it was Gabriel right so he's saying even if God sent his angels sometime to give the message right they became scripture of the old time he said if God if God spoke that way and it was steadfast how are we going to escape if we begin to neglect or let slip what Jesus began to speak to us and what was confirmed to us by the fact that he opened the eyes of the Blind and raised the dead and cleanse the leper and cast out demons and proved that he wasn't just a man he did things as they said that never any man any Prophet any holy man he did Miracles that no one ever did right remember when he opened I said it's never been heard of of a man eyes being opened who was born blind right so Jesus Jesus was different and then he says this again he he reiterates verse 5 for unto the angels He hath not put subjection the world to come wherever we speak so for some reason they were lifting up oh angels right and making Jesus basically out to be an angel or just a messenger he says verse six but one in a certain place testified saying what is man that thou art mindful in or the son of man that thou visited him Thou made it to him a little lower than the Angels thou crownest him with glory and honor and did set him over the works of thy hands thou has put all things in subjection under his feet for in that he put all things in subjection under his feet he left nothing that is not put under him but now we see not yet all things put under him but we see Jesus who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death but crowned with Glory and Honor that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man for it became him for whom are are all things and by whom are all things in bringing many sons into glory to make the captain of their salvation perfect through suffering for both he that sanctifieth and they who are Sanctified are all of one for which cause he is not ashamed to call them Brethren saying I will declare thy name unto my brethren in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee and again I will put my trust in him and again behold I and the children which God hath given me so he goes on for it for as much then as the children are partakers of Flesh and Blood he also likewise took part of the same that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death that is the devil and to deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetimes subject to bondage who are verily he he took not
on him the nature of angels but he took on him the Seed of Abraham wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made likened to his Brethren that he might be a merciful and faithful priest in things pertaining to God to make reconciliation for the sins of the people for in that he himself have suffered being tempted he is able to sucker or to help them that are tempted so what he he again gets into here Jesus is higher than the Angels even though he took on a human body and was allowed to to die which angels Don't suffer and die in you know in in a human body he's saying yes we may be the human beings may be a little lower in the angels in the sense of glory and eternal life and just being mortal and having to suffer and die I said Jesus just took that on so that he could partake in our flesh so he could redeem us so he could reconcile us so he could partake of the Flesh and Blood and taste death for every man all right and then we're talking about not just the physical death aspect of it but the spiritual death the separation from God that's why on the cross what did he say my God my God will ask Thou forsaken me he experienced everything Spirit soul and body like you know so that we won't have to be separated from God so he goes on to say again to reiterate this in chapter 2 and talks about just it's it's kind of like you would say you know how you know how there are other leaders in the military and bosses who just sit behind the desk and tell everybody else to do everything but then you got leaders who actually go out and will get in the mud puddle with you and show you how to do whatever your job is they they'll get down there and then so when they when they step out of that you look at them as like you know yes they're the boss yes they're in charge but they're not afraid to get down here with me and be equal to me and show me how it's done and to help me and that's what Jesus did taking on a human body uh to be tempted at all points like we are yet without sin he came down here to say look I'm going to go through this with you and I'm going to do what you can't do I'm going to pay the price on the cross for you because you can't do it and so that's uh that's what he's talking about he's a he that's what this old thing is it says right here verse 14 for as much as the children are partakers of Flesh and Blood he also likewise took part of the same he didn't just stay behind the desk in heaven he came down here to walk with us to show us how and then through death he he destroyed him that had the power of death that is the devil where'd the devil get
the power of death from Adam and Eve there was no death right until Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate from the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil because God said the day you eat of it you will die but they also in the process of that when they did it they handed over the power of that Realm to the devil which is why when Moses died the the angel was arguing with Gabriel about the body I mean not Gabriel but Michael about the body of Moses because he's basically saying I have a right to him you can't take him and Michael just said the Lord rebuke you right all right now let's keep going y'all good May through chapter two so now we're going to move into chapter three and what is it what what you're seeing here is is the Holy Spirit through the writer of Hebrews what's he doing he's exalting Jesus to his proper place he's telling them don't don't don't walk away don't let this slip from you right and he continues making the point in chapter three but even stronger let's read it he goes on to say how Jesus became our our high priest he says wherefore holy Brethren partakers of the Heavenly calling consider the Apostle and high priest of our profession Christ Jesus who was faithful to him that appointed him as also Moses was faithful in all his house for this man was counted worthy of more Glory than Moses somebody in here say more Glory than Moses are you getting the point being made here to these Jewish Christians who's more important Jesus and the New Covenant or Moses and the old Covenant which is more important exactly he's making that clear let's keep reading just just want to get that in your head verse 3 for this man speaking of Jesus was counted worthy of more Glory than Moses in so much as he who hath builded the house hath more honor than the house for every house is building by some man but he that built all things is God and Moses truly was faithful in all his house as a servant for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after but Christ as a son over his own house whose house are we If We Hold Fast the confidence and rejoicing of Hope firm unto the end now this is a this is a very clear picture back up to verse 5 again and Moses was truly or verily was faithful in all his house
but Christ as a son over his own house whose house are we if we hold fast the confidence and rejoicing of Hope firm to the end he's saying Moses had a house and it was called the old Covenant that's a big important house no doubt Moses and the law pointed to the Fulfillment of it pointed to Jesus Moses in Deuteronomy foretold the Lord will raise up a prophet like unto me right and he was talking about Jesus because Jesus is both the Apostle he's a prophet he's an evangelist he's a pastor the shepherd and a teacher right he's all of it he's the high priest but notice what he says here he's again making the point that Moses had a house but Christ has a house and whose house are we whose house are we supposed to be in Moses house or Jesus's house now exactly now you gotta pick one to live in but we got people running back to Moses house everybody see that is this past today making this up or is this here in the book and he's telling them you and you're going to see again what was the purpose of the book of Hebrews they were he was writing to Born Again Jewish people who had come to Jesus as the Messiah but under great persecution and pressure to go back under the old Covenant to go back into the to the law of Moses to go back to the temple system to go back to the levitical priesthood to go back to that to depending on their salvation and begin to deny subtly slowly begin to deny who Jesus was what he had done and the significance of the transition from the old to the new and he's telling them Moses who's greater than Moses Jesus now think about telling a Jew that even a Jewish Christian I'm trying to get across to you you're starting to think Jesus just might be an angel no no no Jesus Is Not An Angel he's greater than Moses do you realize what the Torah heads will be doing right now if they were listening to this losing their minds why because they have really put Moses above Jesus that's what they're doing and they're wanting to live in Moses's house and not Jesus's house and let me tell you if you put two houses out there and Moses is over here saying all right you got to do all the law to not be a law breaker
and Jesus is over here saying hey believe in me stay with me abide in me and I am you let me lead you and the law will be fulfilled in you and I'll help you do it which house are you going in exactly and guess what you don't have to you know in Moses house you got to make sure you bring lambs and goats and turtle doves blood sacrifices burnt offerings drink offerings grain offerings Eve offerings right you got all these things you got to pay attention to new moons feasts sabbaths gotta watch that calendar watch the days of the week make sure you don't Kindle a fire you know if you Kindle a fire in your home on the Sabbath you were to die put to death right and Jesus says over here nope you're not into those things anymore I just want you to live I don't want you to live in in immorality just follow me I have fulfilled all that I'm your sacrifice I I was just thinking about this this morning and last night right before I went to bed it's just on my mind you know the the Torah observers the Hebrew Roots cult pushers it is a cult um they say you know again Jesus didn't come to destroy the law not one jot or tittle of the law will pass away and I and and then I'm like but wait a minute now the animal sacrifice is done away with it were the animal sacrifices part of Leviticus and Deuteronomy and numbers and exodus that's an important part of the law the animal sacrifice where you had to do it you didn't have a choice right all right so so I have to ask him do you believe that part's passed away or not passed away no because what happens is okay if the animal sacrifice this part is passed away then more than a jot or tittle's passed away so then when did it begin to pass away it's not at the end of time it's when Jesus said it is finished when he paid the price when the veil was rent I mean really I mean I mean here they keep pushing oh the laws not abolished it's not a it's it's the law the old Covenant law is is until not one job or tittle will pass away don't heaven and earth passes away and yet animal sacrifices passed away why Jesus see they they contradict themselves the moment the moment a Christian Hebrew Roots deceived individual says yes I believe Jesus is now the sacrifice and I don't have to sacrifice animals then they're admitting that Johnson tittles of the law passed away were done away well we believe that part but I thought well no no you don't get to do that
you can't tell me one minute the law didn't change and then tell me it changed on that part but not any other part well wait a minute now there was a levitical priesthood and a high priest that had to go make an atonement for sins and so that was a levite son of Aaron the wait a minute now do you believe Jesus is now the high priest after the order of Melchizedek because he's from the tribe of Judah yeah I believe Jesus is the high priest now so the levitical priesthood done away with oh but Pasadena it's it's q4mmt in the works of the law wait a minute now as we're going to see Hebrews 7 and 8 and 9 says what for the law made nothing perfect for if Perfection had been by the levitical priesthood there would not be talk or need or anything spoken of in the law of another priest coming after the order of Melchizedek so what I'm getting at is jots and tittles of the law not just Johnson Steelers but whole sections of it have passed away and either Jesus fulfilled them or he didn't you see what I'm saying so to start saying I I just and what you know what I Marvel at what I Marvel at is how are so many Christians sucked in by such an obvious error I mean they hang their hand on that Matthew 5 portion of the passage of scripture and it's easily proven to be fulfilled at the death and resurrection of Jesus because of the sacrifices and the levitical priesthood being done away with and I can't get it through to some of these knuckleheads they just can't get it through to them make do you hear yourself I think their Idols are I'm gonna have to make a jot and Tittle Idol I'm gonna get I'm gonna make a little jot and Tittle and a little wood Idol statue and start sending it to them here's your job until later no some stuff is past some big stuff has passed away of the law right we'll get to that in a second all right but this is just good see I was reading this other night and the Lord was like you need to just work through this slowly because we are we just read through things quickly don't we we don't a lot of them we don't just really stop and think about it truly listen to me meditating on the word of God is not closing your eyes visualize visualizing something chanting it over and over again that's that's not how you do it biblical meditation is just simply going slow
and thinking about what you're reading just the fact here when it says the term verse 3 for this man was counted worthy of more Glory than Moses think about that and then it says that Moses had a house and Jesus has a house and that Jesus house is whose house are we verse 6. now think about this let's go to verse 7. as he says this to them as he says Jesus has more Glory than that of Moses as he says Moses had a house but now Jesus has a house whose house are we if we hold the beginning of our confident steadfast and then we don't slip away from New Covenant New Testament Born Again by faith reality of fulfillment and freedom from the law he says wherefore as the Holy Ghost said today if you will hear his voice Harden not your hearts as in the provocation in the day of Temptation in the wilderness when your father tempted me and proved me and saw my Works 40 years now remember again we read this sometimes Harden not your heart right if you will hear his voice about what what's the context of that here is voice don't Harden your heart like they did in the wilderness what's the context Jesus it's Jesus now it's New Testament now we're done we're done with Moses and the law with that Covenant he's the New Covenant it's a new relationship we don't need this we don't have to do the sacrifices anymore because Jesus is our sacrifice he's our lamb we don't have to do go run to a levitical priest to check to see if we're ceremonial clean or not we're clean by the blood of Jesus he is our high priest he's made the atonement it's not Moses anymore it's not Aaron anymore my Lord why is this already and he says to them to these Hebrews what remember who's he talking to Hebrew Jewish Christians who were born again who are starting to slip back into Judaism because of pressure and persecution and false teaching and he tells them listen today if you will hear his voice don't Harden your hearts to this he's saying you're not listening to God you're not listening to what the Son of God is saying if you're going to run back under and go live in Moses house that's the context
and he's saying don't do it McFly right don't do it and then he says this look wherefore is the Holy Ghost saith today now right now if you will hear his voice Harden out your hearts as in the provocation in the day of Temptation of the Wilderness when your father's tempted me prove me and saw my Works 40 years wherefore or why was I grieved with that generation and said they do always air in their heart and they have not known my ways so I swear in my wrath that they shall not enter into my rest all right again he starts talking about this rest the Sabbath right we'll talk about that in a minute but look at verse 12. again talking to Hebrew Jewish Christians slipping back into the Mosaic Covenant Moses house he says take heed brethren lest there be any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the Living God but exhort one another daily while it is called today lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin for we are made partakers of Christ the Messiah God In the Flesh if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast into the end while it is said today if you will hear his voice Harden not your hearts as in the provocation listen this for some when they had heard did provoke how be it not all that came out of Egypt by Moses but with whom was he grieved 40 years was it not with them that had sinned whose carcasses fell in the wilderness and to whom he swear to whom swear he rather that they should not enter into his rest but to them that believe not so we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief so he's saying remember he was saying the ones that that had unbelief didn't get to enter into the rest what was the rest going into the promised land inheriting God's promises right that they would live in houses they didn't build and they would have land and Fields and crops they didn't plant and they would be blessed they would be in the land flowing with milk and honey that that was a picture of entering into God's rest going into the promised land but many of them didn't get to go in because they started falling under unbelief and started sinning against God and aired in their heart and he's saying now under the New Covenant you're doing just like they did under the old Covenant you're beginning to err in your heart Jesus has a rest for you to enter into it's a rest from the Mosaic Covenant it's a rest from those 613 laws it's a rest in him
there's a power there's a new covenant there's a new way to be forgiven of sins there's a new way to have access to to the throne of God there's a new way to pray there's a new way to know him and walk with him and now you won't listen you won't listen you won't enter into it oh this I mean Hebrews is is really to the Torah hits it really is he's telling them I've got this rest for you you don't have to sit around making he says look at now we move into chapter four because remember these chapter breaks weren't there the letter just continued on he says let us therefore fear phobei oh afraid Terror let us therefore fear lest the promise being left us of entering into his rest any of you should seem to come short of it wait a minute now in what context how would you come short of this rest what is he who is he talking to Jewish Hebrew Believers in Jesus Christ that have been saved going back under Moses going back into Moses house this is the context context is everything right he says For unto us was the Gospel preached as well as unto them but the word preached did not profit them not being mixed with faith in them that heard it for we which have believed listen to this for we which have believed in Jesus don't have faith in Jesus do enter into rest that's why I say Jesus is my Sabbath he's my rest all right for we which have believed do enter into rest as he said as I have sworn in my wrath if they shall enter into my rest although the works were finished from the foundation of the world for he spake in a certain place in the seventh day on this wise and God did rest the seventh day from all his works and in this place again if they shall enter into my rest seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief so he's saying they had arrest they could have had they could have found the rest by believing God and obeying that Covenant but they refused he said now we have a new covenant and you can enter into that rest by believing by faith in Jesus Christ you can enter into a new rest in a New Covenant don't be like them don't refuse to enter that rest see that's what I'm saying Jesus the moment you enter what is the Sabbath anyway it's a rest God rested on the seventh day meaning he ceased from his
works of the past six days right well guess what the law was our school master brought us to Christ now we're no longer in the school Master the Schoolmaster what were you doing in school what are you doing in school you're working you're working to learn right but once you get to where you're supposed to be what you're supposed to learn you graduate right and so he's saying the graduation from the law was Jesus not again not anti-nomianism not that you can live a deprived life but you're just not under all of those rights and rituals and ceremonies and sabbaths and days and new moons and feet is a rest from all that and that's what he's talking about they wouldn't enter into their rest the Promised Land and some of them didn't get to enter in because of their unbelief and Disobedience don't do the same thing Hebrew Christians in the New Covenant don't do it let's keep going and again he limited a certain day saying in David today after so long a time as it is said today if you will hear his voice Harden not your hearts and this verse right here when he's talking about when it says Jesus is really talking about Joshua who was going to lead them into the promised land for if Jesus or Joshua had given them rest he's talking about in the old Covenant then would not he he would not afterward have spoken of another day there remained therefore arrest to the people of God for he that is entered into his rest he also hath ceased from his own works as God did from his let us labor to enter into that rest lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief so what he's saying let's do what it takes to enter that rest what does it take to enter the New Covenant rest in Jesus faith faith I believe he is my Passover land Behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world oh they asked Jesus what do we do that we might do the works of God and what did Jesus say here's the work of God that you believe on him whom he said any immoral Works under the new covenants you cease from that's what I'm trying to get across to you guys the New Covenant is not all these demands of of you've got to do this this and this and this yeah God has a specific plan for each of us and he has you have to seek him and you have to know him and you got to find that out what it is
but under the New Covenant the moral issues like adultery fornication idolatry those are things you cease doing you rest from them he calls them the works of the flesh all right the New Covenant is arrest man say it's a good preaching now don't shout me down while I'm preaching you let's keep going he says verse 11. let us labor therefore to enter into that rest lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief for the word of God is quick or alive and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword piercing even to the dividing asunder of Soul and Spirit and then and of the joints in the Maryland discerner the thoughts and intents of the heart neither is there any creature that is not manifest or revealed in his sight but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do seeing then that we have a great high priest that has passed into the heavens Jesus the son of God let us hold fast our profession for we have not a high priest which cannot be touched of the feelings of our infirmities but was in all points tempted like we are like as we are rather yet without sin Let Us therefore come boldly into the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find Grace to help in the time of need now he goes on to he's in the first part of this chapter he's talking about don't let these things slip right enter into this rest and then he says the word of God is powerful the word of God can help you the word of God live and then he goes right back into this saying we have a high priest now who's entered into the heavens Jesus the son of God let us hold fast to this let us hold fast what what what were they not holding fast to what were they slipping back into right moves back to Moses house back to the temple back to the sacrifices as you're going to see he has to start telling them it's not the blood of bulls and goats it's not these sacrifices again and again every every year by the high priest or going to the temple well why does he have to tell them that because they were they were thinking begin to think I've got to keep doing this law of Moses they that's what everybody's telling me that's what these that's what these Jews and that's what these leaders and that's what these even some of these Christian judaizers they're telling me is I gotta I yeah I can believe in Jesus but I gotta go do these things too all right
so he again points out Jesus is the high priest now so what is that saying to them in it and whoever it was at the time whether we're talking about Caiaphas or anus ananias or whatever or whoever the new high priest is like it ain't him the guy that's uh in Jerusalem at the it's not him it's Jesus it's the high priest now okay and then he begins to explain it chapter 5 verse one about the high priest issue for every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in the things pertaining to God that he might offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins who can have compassion on the ignorant and on them that are out of the way for that he himself is also compassed with infirmity so what he's saying is this guy's just he's equal to you he says nothing special he's still a human being he says in by by reason hereof he ought asked for the people so also for himself to offer for sins and no man taketh this honor unto himself but he that is called of God as was Aaron so he's saying no man no man gets to pick himself out be a high priest this is something God chose Aaron was chosen by God he acknowledges that so also though he goes on to say so also Christ glorified not himself to be made a high priest but that he said unto him Thou Art my son today I have begotten thee and again he's quoting from Psalm 2 there and then in verse 6 he says also he saith in another place and this is Psalm 110 that he's quoting from thou art a priests Forever After the order of Melchizedek who in the days of his flesh Melchizedek when he had offered up prayers and supplication with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death and was hurting that he feared and though he were a son he had learned he obedience by the things which he suffered and being made perfect he became the author of Eternal salvation and to all those uh that obey him called of God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek now he's pointing out here Jesus is the high priest after the order of Melchizedek he's pointing out that this was prophesied in the Old Testament so what is he doing here he's using the Old Testament to prove to them that the levitical priesthood and the Aaron as the high priest descendant of Aaron is the high priest would be changed that the old Covenant foretold it would be changed there would be a and that would be the Son of God would become the new high priest after the order of Melchizedek well any Jew who knew anything about the scriptures knew that the the Messiah would be the son of
David he would be from the tribe of Judah so they knew wait a minute and he's having to explain this to him the priesthood the high priest and the priesthood guess what with Jesus down there done away with because Jesus is the high priest after the ordinal Melchizedek and then he says this now think about this here's the rebuke he says to them he said verse 11 of whom we have many things to say and hard to be uttered seeing you are dull of hearing a bunch of hard heads for when for the time you ought to be teachers you need that one teach you again which be the first principles or the basics of the Oracles of God and our become such as have need of milk and not strong meat for everyone that uses milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness for he is a babe but strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age even those who by reason of use have their senses senses exercised to discern good and evil a lot of times preachers pull this out of context and use it to talk about discernment and people who don't know the word of God really well and their babes and they think you know in in the in and they're not really where they need to be but let me just tell you what is the context ladies and gentlemen the context of this rebuke is over people trying to go back under the law of Moses to the levitical priesthood to the descendants of Aaron the high priest to the temple sacrifices these are Christians trying to go back under Moses house and he says listen you bunch of hard heads now people get onto me because I talk so blunt and plain about this but Paul frankly just says to these Christians you ought to know better by now basically it's not like you haven't heard this you've heard this why am I and and then as I've said before this issue of old Covenant and New Covenant and what's required of us now into the New Covenant I learned this when I was 19 years old simply reading the scriptures I didn't have to have someone come in and twist it up for me I understood God did things a certain way into the old Covenant once Jesus came in there were things that changed that's basic 101 that's what he's saying here these are the first principles this is basic understanding I still have I have tour heads as of yesterday Torah observers telling me God didn't change I was asking why aren't you sacrificing animals then because what they mean by
that is God didn't change any of his laws saying God didn't change and saying he doesn't change his laws or his covenants is ridiculous when they say God hadn't changed what they're saying is oh he had changed anything well wait a minute well then you you sacrifice a lamb for your sins no oh you changed that see it's ridiculous and that's what Paul said this is Elementary this is what he's telling these guys you are babes you lack skill in the word of God if if you're falling back under the law if you're a tour Observer or you're into the Hebrew Roots movement and you think you got to do those things to be right with God in any sense of the way or to prove you love God and to prove anything if that's what you think then you are unskillful in the word of righteousness in the word of God this is a basic principle Foundation you're not even getting right and he says you you lack discernment it's just real simple you you just and and I I mean I I even this morning after I prayed got up and prayed I pick up my phone after praying for over an hour and I see some goofball going you need to you need to do some more study because I looked up the word I looked up a word and I said huh I said I said oh okay so let's see 31 years of studying the subject um researching and writing a book about it in 1998 I said and it's been in the last three years looking at it again in more depth oh yeah gee why didn't I think of that looking at that word I told her I said obviously you have no clue whatsoever I said if you still think New Covenant Believers have to do these things under the old Covenant law I said then you're clueless you're you're a babe you're unskillful in the word of writing you don't know what you're talking about you really are unskillful in the word of righteous you're a babe you need someone teaching you the first basic principles of the difference between the old Covenant that's why I said three years ago when I started back on this I can't even believe I got to address this again I've never heard of it I know it I never thought people this many people would actually go down this road no but that's what Paul's saying here all right now let's continue on into chapter six this is where it gets really interesting this is something the Lord really opened back up to me again um and and not that what I thought about it before was wrong but just a a greater clarification on this passage because
this is for a lot of people this is one of the most confusing passages in Hebrews right here that we're about to read so from uh Hebrews 6 to verse 6. from one one to six so let's go on so what he says here is he says therefore leaving the principles or the or the very basic foundational principles of the doctrine of Christ and he's talking about the doctrine of Crisis New Covenant what what Jesus has fulfilled we move on with the New Covenant let us go on unto Perfection or maturity look at this not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead Works underline that right there I want everybody to underline dead works this is something the Lord made me look at if you take this passage out of its context and preach this you're thinking dead work repentance from dead works is sin actually it's not now you can take it to mean that and that's not wrong but it's not the context of this passage the dead Works he's talking about is going back to the law those are the dead works think about think about this okay what he's saying and I'm going to prove this I'm going to prove it because he uses the same words over in uh it's in the chapter Hebrews 9 and 10 when we get there you'll see you'll see you're here you're going to hear again the phrase dead Works what it is is remember what were these Hebrew Christians going back to do they were going back to try to take their sack their animal sacrifices to the temple their ritual cleansings to get you know remember when Jesus healed the lepers and he said go show yourselves to the priest a lot of people just say well see Jesus was keeping the law yeah well Jesus was still the Jesus had not died on the cross he had not yet fulfilled the law yeah he was telling them to go see do you think Jesus would cleanse the leper now and say go find your levitical priest make sure you're you're clean no you see this is this is where the land of ridiculousness this stuff goes to but but so all those different things right he said they were they were going back and doing that and he says you're going back to dead works if you look up the word dead works it just means vain empty worthless works that are not anything if Jesus has become this the perfect sacrifice for our sins and you go back and you're offering a lamb or a turtle dove or a goat or whatever for your sin then that's a dead work because it's it's it's it's pointless you're doing something you don't need to do because it's already been done for you and that's what they were doing their dead Works was going back to
practice the law of Moses and all the cleansings and the rituals and the ceremonies and all that stuff to and the sacrifices and to make them and he's saying you need to repent a foundational principle of Christ of the doctrine of Christ is because of Jesus Christ becoming our sacrifice becoming our high priest becoming our rest our Sabbath rest because of him becoming these things to go back and do those things are dead works you should repent of dead Works meaning you turn away from them and you don't do them anymore there's no need for it it's a waste of time and it's also as you're going to see if you if you as a Believer say well I still have to go do these things in Moses's house to be right you're blaspheming you're blaspheming and you are making you're basically crucifying Jesus afresh is what it says I'm gonna show you because you're basically saying what he did is not sufficient for me I need something I need to go back to Moses Moses was pointing to him everything in the old Covenant all the sacrifices all the rituals all the feasts all this all of that were Shadows pointing to him do you think for one second Moses would say no no come back here and follow me you know Moses would be just like John the Baptist I must decrease he must increase follow him you know what you know why Jesus said John the Baptist was one of the greatest of all the prophets because he was able to say my Ministry is over now because all my job was to do was to announce him and point to him and now you follow him and that's why it says in the Book of Luke the law was until John until until what does until mean until yeah exactly the law was until John look that one up for me it's in Luke I think 16. the law was until John what's that Luke 10 7-8 00 Jordan for those of you couldn't hear Jordan he said he liked the Luke 10 what seven through eight when Jesus sent out the
the 70 and the apostles and said whatever the people set before you eat it [Music] yeah as he said they could have had cheese and bacon wrapped shrimp right but the law was until John so everybody getting this I hope y'all are getting this and y'all enjoying our little Cruise our little journey through the book of Hebrews and then eat when you slow down and not just I'm you know a lot of times it's listen y'all I know we all do this I just want to read real fast so I can say I read the whole book and sometimes it's not about reading fast so you can say I read all the Hebrews or I read 13 chapters or 14 chapters or 10 chapters it's about am I really getting what I'm reading am I really thinking about what I'm reading am I keeping in context what I'm reading right well there's the verse right there yeah I was right Luke 16 verse 16. the law and the prophets were until John since that time the kingdom of God is preached and every man presses into it until yeah it means until yeah I know I actually looked it up I said well there's no point in share it is because it means until until means until and it really does mean like if you look up all the root words it does mean like it's come to an end right now not that the law and the prophets are not important that we can't still learn from them as it pertains to that why how they point to Christ but they point to him right they're Shadows their types and shadows item I'm not a shadow hugger I'm I'm clinging to the the one who made the shadow right I'm not clinging to the Shadows shadow people that's what I'm gonna call it is a horror movie it's a train wreck man yeah you know somebody said to me the other day you know that there was a lot of good that happened at the Flat Earth conference in Denver and I said yeah I said well for instance I said a train wreck can have good things happen if everyone doesn't dies that's some good things that happen it's still a train wreck right you know thank God everyone didn't die right that's good Hallelujah there was something good came out of the train wreck everybody didn't die but it's still a train wreck so let's not forget that part right I'm not being mean just telling the truth all right let's go and keep going through this we got time foreign
so going back to to verse one we're talking about just remember the phrase dead Works everything I just said I'm gonna prove it to you we get over in chapter chapters nine and ten if we get there therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ let us go on unto Perfection maturity not laying again the foundation of repentance from of dead works and of Faith toward God so he's talking about leaving the dead works and moving into the Walk of faith he says of the doctrine of baptisms and of laying on of hands and the resurrection of the Dead Eternal judgment and this we will do if God permit so we say we should move forward go on learn about faith learn about the that the doctrine of baptism baptism of water baptism in the Holy Spirit baptism of fire laying hands on people praying for sick people casting out demons training and ordaining Elders that's the ministry of laying on hands learning about the resurrection of the Dead the Rapture or the first resurrection and the second resurrection that the great white Throne judgment a thousand years after Jesus returned let's go on and learn all this he said this we will do if God permit all right and then he says this now remember he's who's he talking to Jewish Hebrew Christians starting to fall away from the faith because of persecution pressure false doctrine of judaizers and people trying to push them back under the law of Moses and the rituals and the sacrifices and the ceremonies and everything else and he says this to them now this is even stronger rebuke and he makes it clear he says for it is impossible for those who were once enlightened and have tasted of the Heavenly gift and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the world to come if they shall fall away to renew them again to repentance seeing they crucify to themselves the son of God afresh and put him to an open shame now this ought to scare the living Daylights out of people right here okay because he's telling them and these are the conditions he said if you were once enlightening mean the Holy Spirit came upon you and the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ the word enlightened shut the light of God shined in you and then that's second Corinthians 4 if our gospel is hid it said to them the whom that are lost and whom the God of this world is blinded their minds lest the light of the Glorious gospel of Christ who is the image of God shall shined in them so what he's saying is for it is impossible those who were once enlightened the gospel the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ shine in your minds he said and then you tasted of the Heavenly gift who's the Heavenly gift God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son Jesus is the gift right the gift of Salvation the gift of righteousness it's a gift
right he said so you've you your mind was in like the light of the Gospel shines and you pushed the darkness of Satan out and you understood the gospel and then you tasted the Heavenly believed you received Jesus as your lord and savior when he's talking to Christians Jewish Christian he said you receive Jesus as the Messiah you receive the truth of the word that the apostles taught when he said about who he is as the Son of God and God In the Flesh and the sacrifice for our sins right the Lamb of God you receive you and then you tasted it what is it what is like you know I I can tell you all about my rib eye steaks but you don't really understand until you taste it right I made one for the prodigal that came home last week that's it it was delicious okay somebody said oh you're terrible meat eater you I said I love animals they're delicious like Jordan said it makes me want to be a problem we killed the fat and calf for the prodigal right they came home last week all right but let me tell you tasting it means you've experienced it yourself right this is not just something you you heard about you you didn't just hear about Pastor Deans you know inch inch and a half ribeye you tasted it and now you know by experience so he said you've tasted the Heavenly gift and so if there's any question about it whether you were saved or not he said and we're made partakers of the Holy Ghost guess what you can't have the Holy Spirit in you unless you are born again through faith in Jesus Christ in his death and his resurrection who he is as the Messiah as God In the Flesh who lived a sinless life and then died for our sins born of the Virgin Mary you believed all that and then it says you tasted that of the Heavenly gift and the Holy Spirit came in you to confirm you are a child of God Romans 8 14. you know the Holy Spirit the spirit of God Bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God so he said you're a partaker you you your mind was enlightened with the light of the Gospel you didn't just hear about Jesus you tasted of Jesus the Heavenly gift taste and see that the Lord is good he says right then it says you were made partakers of the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit came in you you were regenerated you were born again you were saved then he takes it even a step further he said you have tasted the good word of God meaning you've been taught the truth you've had time to think about it to study it to hear it preach to hear it talk to meditate on it to read it yourself you learned the word of God so he's saying you're not you're not
ignorant of this it's what he's saying to him you're not you're not ignorant of the scriptures about this you're choosing to go back right then he says this and you have tasted not only of the word of God and the powers of the world to come meaning not only were you saved and received the spirit of salvation but you were baptized in the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit the powers of the world to come the dunamis power of God tongues interpretation of tongues prophecy Gifts of healing work of the Miracles those things begin to operate in you you saw them you experienced them and now you go back to the the dead works of the law that's passed that Jesus fulfilled listen to what he says to that he says if you do that it's impossible he says if they shall fall away it's impossible to renew them again to repentance seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh and put him to an open shame the verb crucify there to themselves and the verb put him to an open shame as a present tense Greek verse which means they are continually crucifying the Son of God of fresh how would you do that constantly going back and saying here's my lamb here's my turtle doves here's my goats I got to go back and do these things you keep going back to the dead works and it's a continuous ongoing action he said it's taking place in the present think about it think about I have I know right now that there are a bunch of Hebrew roots Torah Observers that cannot be brought back to repentance because in their minds their minds have been made up and they are continually trying to trying to do their own dead Works under the law and there and thus they are continually putting Jesus to an open shame because by doing that they are continually saying what his sacrifice and him is my high priest and him is my Sabbath is not enough it's not good enough and that's why they put him to an open shape People Like Us that say you know what he fulfilled it he's my perfect sacrifice he's my perfect high priest he's my perfect Sabbath he's all the the feast he fulfilled them all he's everything I need it's not my works it's not me trying to do it in Moses house it's me just
abiding with him and his house that's good enough who's glorifying Jesus and who's glorifying the dead works of the law you see some of them as this is why they're they're it's just like there's I believe this I'm gonna be honest with you I believe there's a certain group of homosexuals that are are gone that they will never be one because they've been given over to a reprobate mine now only God knows I believe there's some homosexuals who still haven't crossed that line and can repent come out of that and be saved and delivered and only God knows who they are because he's the one that does the the judging and the delivering them over right he knows he knows about anybody when they cross the line all right but I feel the same way now after reading this again and studying this out again about people who are going back under the law of Moses and again I'm not talking excluding the moral law that's still carried over into the New Testament what I'm talking about going back to the sabbaths and the feast and the new you know and all that stuff they're trying to do I I think that there's some of them there's a big group of these uh Torah observant Hebrew Roots people that um you just can't you can't bring them to repentance because they actually believe that Christianity they've said this I've seen them they see that Christianity is the great deception uh Rob skiba and his two buddies that just did the video Saturday night said that people who are not following the Torah like them going back are are part of the Great deception of second Thessalonians 2 of the people who will be damned that's what they said I've got the I actually screenshotted saved all that video this is how far they they really believe that they are walking in the truth and we're walking in the deception those people they're they're gone man and some of them I don't know now I'm not saying Robin is two hipster buddies or gone I don't know but I'm saying some of them they're gone that far can we renew them to repentance and bring them out of their dead works and trying to live in Moses house I don't know I don't think so some of them just seem they just don't want to let go but this this doesn't this bring it really into focus when you consider the context of this book and who it was written to this is not to your average Joe New Testament Christian you know I'm saying this is not your John Doe New Covenant Christian out here I mean there's passages that deal with with you know becoming a prodigal Falling Away becoming lukewarm Christian
in fact the the Torah observers in the Hebrew Roots people say that if you're not trying to keep the Sabbath The Feast the new moons the dietary laws the zeats eats and all that you've left your first love well my God is that what I did to get saved that my first love was when I was born again so did all of a sudden I just all of a sudden keep the the feasts the new moons the sabbaths the circumcision the dietary laws that it is that my first love how I was first born again and fell in love with Jesus as My Savior and Lord Redeemer no see how ridiculous it is My First Love was simple faith My First Love was a simple encounter with him believing that he died for my sins that he became My Sacrifice that he is the way the truth and the life that he washes me of all my sins and cleanses me that he makes me a new creature that he is it I mean you think about it my first love was very simple Faith very simple receiving him as Lord I didn't know all these debates and they want to say all right if you're not going to keep an eye of the law of Moses you left your first love you bunch of heathens the Hebrew Roots Torah observant is the most ridiculous belief system that a Christian can embrace and then they keep throwing up the strongman well I'm talking about these won't nobody good hell he said so bad he's criticizing me because I want to obey God no I'm criticizing you because you want to live under an old Covenant when we have a new one you're just an idiot brutish I'm sorry King James brutish ignorant hard-headed dull of hearing I mean I'm sorry to be so blunt but if you're a Christian Paul was saying to them and that's what he said you should know better by now Hebrew Christians he's the high priest Christ has a house Moses had a house I'm living in Christ's house now help me Jesus and they I mean I mean I'm called everything in the book I hear people I hate Dino I mean I've I hate it he's of the devil just for saying that we're under a New Covenant now Jesus is my high priest so Aaron's not Jesus is my lamb My Sacrifice I know I guess because it's not in the
law somewhere they don't get it all right let's keep going so where were we I love it so after he says so let's just read verse 4 for it is impossible for those who were once enlightened and have tasted of the Heavenly gift and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the world to come if they shall fall away to renew them again and and it's interesting let me go back to this to the to the word fall away because I have it written in my Bible it's in the Greek dictionary Strong's Greek dictionary 3895 is the number and it's uh par let's see how do you say that part part pipto I believe or something like that anyway it's definition in the Strong's Dictionary is those who Fall Away inadvertently that is without willful meaning the step out of line they Drift Away do you hear that pretty close huh I couldn't hardly read my own handwriting in my Bible so that was the part of the problem right I so what he's saying here is how do these Christians how would did it happen overnight with them no but again these Hebrew Christians he even the definition of this word if they shall fall away shows that it was a gradual drift that it was not intentional for some of them that their intention was good they're in their mind see their mind was flipped because their intention was I want to do the right thing and then somebody comes along and says well the right thing is still to follow Moses two and he says they fall away they drift away they Slide Away into this they're deceived into it and I know that's what's happened to a lot of them but let's keep going so it says if they should fall away verse 6 to renew them again to repentance seeing that they crucified of themselves the son of God afresh and put him to an open shame for the Earth which drinketh in the rain they cometh offone it and bringeth forth herbs meat for them by whom it is dressed receiveth blessing from God but that which bear thorns and Briars is rejected whose end is nigh unto cursing whose end is to be burned but beloved we are persuaded better things of you and things that accompany salvation though we thus speak for it is not unrighteous God for God rather is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love which you have showed toward his name in that ye have ministered to the Saints and do minister and we desire that every one of you to show the same diligence to the full Assurance of Hope unto the end and that you be not slothful but followers of them who who through faith and patient inherit the promises for when God made promise to Abraham because he could swear by no greater oath he swear by himself saying surely blessing I Will Bless thee and multiplying I will multiply thee and so after he had patiently endured he
obtained the promise he said for men verily swear by a greater by the greater in an oath for them is a confirmation uh is to them of the end of all Strife wherein God willing more abundantly to show unto The Heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel confirmed it by an oath that by two immutable things in which it was impossible for God to lie we might have a strong consolation who have fled for Refuge to lay hold on the Hope set before us which hope we have as an anchor of the Soul both sure and steadfast look at what he says here which entereth into that within the Veil whether the Forerunner is entered to us us entered rather even Jesus made a high priest Forever After the order of Melchizedek now let me stop right there of course a lot of big words but what is he what's what is the point he's trying to make here don't fall back don't lay hold on this hope he says again and again this has been confirmed we have an anchor of the Soul sure and steadfast and then he says which enters into the veil what's he saying there Our Hope has entered through the veil the veil was torn when Jesus died on the cross it was torn meaning the way now into the holy of holies the way into the very presence and glory of God the way to approach the throne that we all now can have access it's not blocked off anymore so the point again he's making is through Jesus that system that had the veil has been set aside we have direct access to God to his presence To His Glory by the blood of Jesus and because Jesus is our high priest who went in to that Veil beyond that Veil and put his own blood there okay as a high priest after the order melchized and again pointing out we have a new high priest how many times he's going to say this in this book quite a bit we have a new because again what is he saying stay away from going back to the old in fact in chapter 8 you're going to see at the end he says that which is old is about to Decay and be destroyed he was he was prophesying the temple the whole system is about to be gone but he was telling them you don't need it anymore oh man we're gonna put this on YouTube today too let's keep going chapter chapter seven I don't know if we're gonna get through it all we may get through we're going to try to get through at least eight nine here for this Melchizedek king of Salem priest of the most high God who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the Kings and blessed him to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all first being interpretation king of righteousness and after that also king of Salem which is king of peace without father without mother without dissent having neither beginning of days
nor end of life but made like into the Son of God abideth the priest continually now I believe just going to say real short this is we're not going to do an in-depth study on Melchizedek yet but I believe that Jesus was appearing beforehand as Melchizedek to Abraham a long time ago now he appeared he took tithes from him he he says they sat down and had uh Bread and Wine there's a scripture where the Bible says that that Abraham had the gospel preached to him I wonder who preached the Gospel of Jesus to Abraham hmm maybe this character who was the king of righteousness who would that be the king of peace who doesn't have without father mother without beginning of days or end of life who's eternal who would that be Jesus appearing before he became a man to die on the cross for our sins now consider how great a man this was even unto whom the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of his spoils now listen to this and verily or truly they that are the sons of Levi who receive the office of the priesthood have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law that is of their brethren though they come out of the loins of Abraham but he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham and blessed him that had the promises and without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better and here men that die receive tithes but they're receiveth them but there there he receiveth them of whom it is witness that he liveth and as I may all also as I may say so rather Levi also who received tithes paid tithes in Abraham for he was yet in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him now look at this verse number 11. remember how they try to use the Q4 mmt document you know fragments to say that the works of the law are just this the you know the fence laws the additions the expansions of the rabbis that's what it's talking about when it says we're not under the law how could it be more clear here he says in verse 11. if therefore Perfection whereby the levitical priesthood for under it people received the law under the political what law did they receive defense laws that the rabbis did centuries later or are they talking about the law of Moses in the wilderness that's what they're talking about here if therefore perfection were by the levitical priesthood for under it the people received the law what further need was there that another priest should arise after the order of Melchizedek and not be called
after the order of Aaron making the point I made earlier if if the law of Moses the levitical priesthood and that's everything there because through through the levitical priesthood came the law all the cleansings all the rituals all the ceremonies and sacrifices everything the high priest listen to this he says verse 12 for the priesthood being changed there is made of necessity a change also of the law now these people running around saying that the law didn't change but here it says talking about how big a part of the law of Moses or the old Covenant law how big a part would you think the levitical priesthood played in that more than a jot or a tittle eh it's for my Canadian friend for the priesthood look at this being changed you see that being there being changed that verb uh present tense ongoing continuously chain presently it's changed it ain't the same as it used to be and how is it continual how's this change continue it's continual because the one who died and rose from the dead the Eternal one is the high priest now it's forever and continuous ongoing presently the priesthood being changed there was made also of everybody say these two words of necessity of necessity a change also of the law for he of whom these things are spoken pertaining to another tribe of which no man gave attendance at the altar for it is evident that our Lord speaking of our Lord Jesus Christ praying out of Judah of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning the priesthood Moses spake nothing of this new priesthood that would come you can't even find the Melchizedek priesthood in the Mosaic law from Sinai in that Covenant and it is yet far more evident that after the similitude of Melchizedek there arises another priest who is made not after the law of a carnal commandment but after the power of an endless life wait a minute Aaron was made high priest by a carnal commandment hmm wow
the Tory heads somebody some tour head that just spun around and spit pea soup out right there right who is made not after the law of a carnal commandment but after the power of an endless life for he testified thou art a priests Forever After the order of Melchizedek here comes a painful verse for him for there is verily or truly a disannulling of the Commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof disknowling of what commandment of the Commandment to establish a levitical priesthood and a high priest he said that is there was a disannulling going before meaning there was a warning in the law in the in the prophets that there was going to be a disannulling of this commandment before the New Covenant came that was there's going to be a priest Forever After the order of Melchizedek which came in the Psalms later by David psalm 110. so he says here for the verily for there's verily a disannulling of the Commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof the Commandment was weakened and profitable for the law made nothing perfect what law what did he just say back over let's go back to verse 11. if therefore Perfection were by the levitical priesthood what's the context what are we talking about are we talking about Q4 mmt fragment of some rabbinical nonsense and additions to the law no we're talking about the levitical priesthood we're talking about the actual law of Moses the Torah right that's what we're talking about and he says it did not bring Perfection and then he says this again verse 19 for the law made nothing perfect but the bringing in of a better hope did what made things perfect if the law didn't make things perfect what made things perfect Jesus right but how did Jesus make things perfect if if the blood of bulls or goats in the levitical priesthood and the high priest of Aaron was not perfect and made nothing perfect and was the after a carnal commandment who made it perfect Jesus and those things were made perfect once Jesus shed his blood and rose from the dead and applied his blood to The Mercy Seat in heaven that's when they were made perfect that's why that's when it was finished that was when it was fulfilled that was when at that moment then Johnson tittles of the logs start passing away yeah the blood of bulls and goats again just covered the sin is what Kevin said of the blood of Jesus so so what the law couldn't do it didn't wash away sin but Jesus came and when he did he made
it perfect so let me ask you if Jesus made it perfect why would I go back to Moses house I don't need to go back to Moses house Moses house was pointing to the day Jesus house would come it's not it's not a versus here this is what they don't get you know let me let me show you something I played quarterback right I played quarterback from Peewee to high school and was going to play in college and let me just go ahead and tell you what's the object of the game is the football right the the football all right now let's say I'm the quarterback I'm Mo I'm I'm Moses now a quarterback can run with the football he's important right but as the quarterback I can take the football and I can hand it to somebody who's bigger and faster than me see what I'm saying now I'm not against him me handing the football to him and letting him run with it doesn't mean I'm against him we're on the same team but am I going to chase him down and Tackle him and take the football back no I want him to run all the way to the touchdown and when he runs all the way to the touchdown I'm blessed I'm not jealous I'm not mad that was what the whole thing was designed to do was to take the football for a while I the quarterback takes the football for a little while he hands it or pitches it to the next guy and then it's his job to run with it and I'm happy when he succeeds because we're on the same team Moses took the football and he ran with guess what it's been tossed to Jesus Jesus is the one that took it to the goal line Jesus won the game right they're not combating with each other one's a quarterback one's a running back and they want to make it out like us saying that Jesus ran for the touchdown and Jesus completed the game and Jesus fulfilled the game think we want to make it out like we're saying that Moses was a bad guy because he pitched the ball to it and that they're somehow opposite teams I've seen Torah people put up basically means that are blasphemous about Jesus and Moses mocking Jesus it's been passed folks let's go back to
our verse 19. for the law made nothing perfect but the bringing in of a better hope did what's the better hope the new Co the New Testament in the blood of Jesus by which we draw near to God and in so much is not without an oath he was made a priest for those priests were made without an oath but this with an oath by him that said unto him thou the Lord swear will not repent thou art a priest Forever After the order of Melchizedek by so much was Jesus made a surety of a better Testament and they truly were many priests because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death so what he's saying is there had to be many high priests they just had you had to keep having high priests because they would die he said but this man speaking of Jesus because he continueth forever hath an unchangeable priesthood wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him seeing that he ever liveth to make intercession for them for such a high priest became us who is Holy harmless undefiled separate from Sinners and made higher than the heavens now listen to verse 27 who needeth not daily as those High priests to offer up sacrifice first for his own sins and then for the peoples for this he did once when he offered up himself for the law maketh me and high priests which have infirmity but the word of the oath which was since the law make it the son who is consecrated forevermore so he's saying the law made weak men high priest but the oath God swore about a new high priest a new priesthood God made the oath himself and because it is the Son of God guess what it's perfect and it's forever it's eternal let's go into verse 8. now of the things which we have spoken this is the psalm basically everything I've been saying let me give you let me sum it up for you here the writer said let me sum it up we have such a high priest who is set on the right hand of the Throne of the Majesty in the heavens a minister of the sanctuary of the true Tabernacle which the Lord pitched not man now think about that right there the Tabernacle in the wilderness the Tabernacle of Moses that was pitched in the wilderness was part of the law it was ordered by God Exodus I mean it's laid out right they said but that was done by man ouch but he said there's a true Sanctuary a true Tabernacle which the Lord pitched and then he says in verse 3 for every high priest is ordained to offer gifts
and sacrifices wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer for if he were on Earth he should not be a priest seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law who serve unto the example and Shadow of heavenly things as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the Tabernacle foresee saith he that thou make all things according to the pattern showed thee in the mount but now hathy obtained a more excellent Ministry he's talking about Jesus but now Jesus is obtained a more excellent Ministry than Moses by how much more he is the mediator of a better Covenant which was established upon better promises let that one sink in for a minute he's talking about Moses and the whole Tabernacle in the wilderness thing pretty much a big part of the law right he says flat out but he speaking of Jesus verse 6 has obtained a more excellent Ministry again saying Moses is here and Jesus is here right not the other way around now let's keep reading verse 7 for if that first Covenant had been faultless then should no place have been sought for the second now of course the word covenant here is in italics meaning it's not in the original it was added there to give Clarity but it's clearly talking about the first in the Covenant and the second Covenant because that's the context if you keep reading the chapter of course that's Torah people teachers deceivers like to point that out and twist it but for if that first Covenant had been faultless there should no place have been sought for the second see that irritates them because when it says the fir if the first Covenant was faultless there would be no need for the sin they can't because they think the first Covenant is the ticket they think it's faultless perfect but but the the writer here the Apostle Paul I believe but regardless one of the Apostles made it very clear that the first Covenant was not faultless otherwise there had been no need for the second the second was the first was to lead to the second for finding fault with them he saith behold the days come saith the Lord and I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah not according to the Covenant that I made with their fathers now let's just Paul's right there for a second I'm going to make a new he's quoting from Jeremiah and he says there Jeremiah 31 30 31-34 he says I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel not according to the Covenant that I made with their fathers now now if I say that term we'll make a new covenant not according to the old one you had before
what does that mean I want to make a New Covenant it's not like the one before there's gonna it's gonna be different 31 30 it's Jeremiah chapter 31 verses 31-34 he says for this is the Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days saith the Lord I will put my laws into their mind and write them in their hearts and they will be I will be to them a God and they shall be my people now of course they try to say now he again the law dogs the Torah observersy see he put their laws in their hearts all right but again you can't take it out of context he just got through saying we're done with the levitical priesthood we're done with the Aaron high priest system we're done with the sacrificial system so you can't just say oh that means all the laws what's he going to put in our hearts the moral laws in our heart because we have that in context again you can't take things out of context verse 11 and they shall not teach every man his neighbor and every man his brother saying know the Lord For All Shall know me from the least to the greatest for all will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their iniquities I will remember no more and look what he says in verse 13. in that he saith a New Covenant he hath made the first old now that which decadeth and waxes old is ready to vanish away this was the prophecy he's made a New Covenant he was warning these Hebrew Christians the Day's coming you forget what Jesus said what did he say to them when he was standing before the temple in Matthew 23 I mean Matthew 24 the first few verses there he says not one stone will be left upon another of this Temple that's their whole system it's going to be wiped out but the writer of Hebrews here is showing you very clearly that God made a New Covenant and the old is decaying and about to be passed away complete all right now let's keep going because this is really what I want to get to we we may stop here with this we'll see but chapter nine we've done pretty good he says then verily the first Covenant had also ordinances of divine service and a worldly sanctuary for there was a tabernacle made the first word was the Candlestick and the table and the showbread which is called The Sanctuary after the second Veil The Tabernacle which is called the holiest of all which had the golden sensor and the Ark of the Covenant overlaid roundabout with gold wherein was the golden pot that had Manna and Aaron's Rod that budded and the tables of the Covenant
and over at the cherubims of the glory shadowing The Mercy Seat of which we cannot now speak particularly now when these things were thus ordained the priests went always into the first Tabernacle accomplishing the service of God but into the second went the high priest alone once every year not without blood which he offered for himself and for The Heirs of the people the Holy Ghost this signifying that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest while the first Tabernacle was yet standing meaning the way for all of us to enter into that the glory and presence of God was not available it was for one man he said so the Holy Spirit was showing the way hadn't been made yet for all of us and then verse 9 he says which was a figure for the time then present in which we're offered both gifts and sacrifices that could not make him that did the service perfect as pertaining to the conscience listen this which stood only in meats and drinks what you eat what you don't eat what you drink what you don't drink and divers Washings and carnal ordinances imposed on them until the time of reformation until he's not talking about the Q4 mmt written thousands of years later he's talking about the true law of Moses in Exodus Leviticus Numbers Deuteronomy and he says these things stood and gifts and sacrifices but guess what let's read it again verse 9 which was a figure for the time then present talking about the Tabernacle of Moses the actual things within the law were offered gifts and sacrifices that could not make him that did the service perfect the law could not make you perfect mature clean holy righteous as pertaining to the conscience look at verse 11 though but Christ being come a high priest of good things to come by a greater and more perfect Tabernacle not made with hands that is to say not of this building neither by the blood of goats and calves and but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy Place having obtained Eternal Redemption for us for if the blood of bulls and goats in the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctify at the purifying of the flesh how much more shall the blood of Christ who through the eternal spirit offered himself without spot to purge your conscience from what dad works to serve the Living God we're going to
come back to that in just a second and for this cause he is the mediator of the New Testament that by means of death for the Redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament they which are called might receive the promise of Eternal inheritance for where the Testament is there must also of a necessity be the death of the tester and I'm going to stop reading right there for a second I want to go back to this though I want to back up because what does it say here verse 13 for if the blood of bulls and goats in the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctify it to the purifying of the flesh how much more shall the blood of Christ who through the eternal spirit offered himself without spot to God Purge your conscience from dead Works to serve the Living God who was he writing to Hebrew Jewish Christians being persecuted pushed manipulated lied to deceived to go back under the law of Moses and he said that's dead works you're going back to the you're going back to the temple you're going back to the levitical priesthood you're going back to the high priest you're going back for the divers Washington cleansings you're going back to the sacrifices you're trying to go back to the law and look to that as you're as your righteousness as you're cleansing as your access to God as you're right standing with God you you you're going back to that he said it's dead works dead Works remember how we read in six chapter six he says not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works I mean this should be foundational the dead works are going back under the law that's the context of this book I don't know how much more clear I can make this it is the context of this book now I know we're gonna we're skipping a little bit we'll have to come back and finish this later but just jump over in chapter 10 real quick verse 1 he said for the law having a shadow of good things to come and not the very image of the things can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers there do perfect for then would they not have ceased to be offered because that the worshipers once Purge should have no more conscience of sins but in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year for it is not possible that the blood of bulls and a goats should take away sins now listen to this closely because he starts quoting an Old Testament passage here in verse 5 it's from Psalm 40 in psalm 50. he says this listen to this wherefore when he cometh into the world he saith listen to this sacrifice and offering thou what is not but a body hast thou prepared me in burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin
thou Hast had no pleasure they keep you know these Torah people keep hounding how perfect and loving and wonderful and awesome the law was they just oh they exalted and God was saying again and again I have no pleasure in these things you know what he was saying there look why as you say Well then why did he do it because he was trying to teach them and prepare them for the coming of Christ remember the law was our school Master to teach us to bring us to Christ but you know what he's he's basically saying I had no pleasure in those things I would really rather not have to do all that but I know how stubborn and hard-headed and dull of hearing that you human beings are so I made a whole system to point to one man to one that would come that I would prepare a body for because remember Amos 5 I'm tired of your Feasts your new moons your solemn assemblies it is a stench in my nostrils God began to reveal how he felt about the whole system okay but now it's all about Jesus y'all I mean that's just that's the good news and he says here let's read on verse 7. then said I lo I come and the volume of the book it is written of me to do thy will God above when he said sacrifice and offerings and burnt offerings and offerings for sin thou what is not neither has pleasure therein which are offered by the law look at it God wasn't having pleasure of things being offered by the law oh my word I can hear them pulling the Torah heads screaming blasphemy pulling their hair out wearing sackcloth and Ashes casting dust in the air then he say lo I come to do thy will of God he taketh away the first that he may establish the second by the which will we are Sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all and every PR every priest standing daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices which can never take away sins now I'm going to stop there because we we've gone long today but the point of this the point of Galatians the point of the book of Hebrews was to warn of the danger of believing that going
back and trying to keep the Sabbath's fee ceremonies rights rituals cleansings dietary loss all of that stuff under the old Covenant was dangerous because it it basically states that Jesus his sacrifice faith in him walking with him is not enough and it is an affront to him it is an offense to him he was already fed up with it with the old Covenant and their sacrifices and feasts and Solomon said he was fed up with all that anyway so he's handed the ball off Moses handed it all of course now it's leather big come on this cowhide not Pig but anyway they do call it the pig skin don't they it's because it's a slick little thing Man it gets away from from you kind of easy anyway I hope you guys learned something today because you know what it's important to understand salvation the cleansing the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus it comes to us through believing you know that's this is Romans 10 9-10 that if that will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus believe in your heart that God has raising from the dead Thou shalt be saved for the mouth I don't know for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness with the mouth confession is made unto salvation um It Is by grace through faith that we are saved that is salvation now does faith say you can live in adultery or fornication or idolatry and just because of Grace no that's error there's there's two ditches on this road we're on deep dark Cavern ditches on each side one is going back to any aspects of the law of Moses and thinking that makes you more right with God than just trusting the blood of Jesus Christ and walking with him and then there's the the true you know libertarian licentious lascivious turning the grace of God into a license to do whatever you want hyper Grace antinomian nonsense that says you can be an adulterer a fornicator an idolater you know you can live in drunkenness and partying and reveling and habitual lifestyle of homosexuality and still be saved because just because you believe those are both errors they're both ditches keep the car in the road don't go to one side or the other amen all right well I promised Kelsey that I was going to pray and I'm going
to do it after the class so let's pray heavenly father I thank you Lord for these students I thank you for those who may watch these classes sneak peeks for them into our school I ask you lord to bless and touch your people touch these students spiritually mentally emotionally physically Lord I ask you to strengthen them by by with your might and Power by your spirit and their Inner Man in the mighty name of Jesus Lord that their faith Stands Strong in the blood of Jesus in this new covenant that's a better Covenant with better promises Lord and that you fill them with the spirit of wisdom and Revelation and understanding God so that they can rise up and be the preachers and teachers and Ministers of the Gospel that you've called them to be and and Lord not be deceived by false teachers and not be led astray but that they they stand for the pure gospel and preach the pure gospel then stay in the New Covenant relationship with you Lord and we're so grateful for it we're so grateful for the New Covenant we don't hate the old but we thank you for the new Lord I didn't hate my old car but I like my new car Lord I Thank you for it and Lord we ask you to bless your people and we pray that those that can be saved out of this era and these extremes on both sides of the of the road these ditches of hyper Grace and getting it back into the law of Moses that Lord that the people will come out of that deception in there and get back on the straight and narrow of walking in a faith relationship with you and living a moral life according to the New Covenant and I pray this over everyone in Jesus name amen all right class dismissed
