Manifest Glory
About this sermon
In “Manifest Glory,” Pastor Dean Odle presents a Scripture-centered message about prayer, the glory of God, God’s commandments. Drawing especially from Isaiah 64, Psalm 63, Matthew 5, John 15, the teaching emphasizes that prayer expresses dependence on God and prepares believers to hear and obey Him. Odle connects that foundation with the conviction that God’s glory exposes sin, deepens reverence, and changes those who seek His presence.

that the mountains may melt at your presence that your enemies may run at your presence i think i'm just going to go with this this morning because i feel something strong this that we need to be praying for god for god's glory to fill us to fill this place to fill [Music] to fill our our city to touch people nobody can be saved listen the bible is clear that no one can come to jesus unless the father draws them and that drawing of course is not always comfortable because the bible says the holy spirit comes to convict the world of sin of righteousness of judgment to come it's uncomfortable i mean god when jesus appeared to to saul of tarsus on the road to damascus he said how is it that you kick against the pricks and what he was saying there's how is it that you are resisting the drawing of the holy spirit on your conscience on your heart i mean god was touching him and god was convicting him and god was drawing him you know i think probably the final straw was when when saul stood there and watched stephen stone to death and it says the glory of god he said his his face lit up and that he he he cried out he saw the son of man he saw jesus standing at the right hand of the father and and then he says words like father forgive them they don't know what they're doing can you imagine what that did to saul's heart when he heard those words from a man that he was having put to death i mean saul was standing there holding the man's clothes as they stoned him and killed him and the man is saying lord don't lay this sin to their charge and that's that's the kind of stuff that saul was resisting but let me tell you the early church they remembered the prayer of jesus pray for your enemies bless those that curse you they knew that prayer it was fresh on them right and saul was one of the worst persecutors of the church he admitted that later as paul he admitted i persecuted the church of god and wasted it he said in galatians wasted it i mean he he just was zealous about putting men and women in prison in christian men and women in prison he hated this new this new thing god was doing he just hated it because it was going against all the the traditions of the old covenant and the law and it was just it was it was it upset the apple cart right but what did it take for saul of tarsus to get saved not just god pricking his heart that was the beginning god was drawing him and he was resisting how many of you we have a free will any man or woman can resist the holy ghost they can quench the holy ghost even in stephen's sermon stephen's sermon that that saul was sitting there listening to he said he said to them and this was is what made them so angry he pointed at the pharisees and the religious leaders

and he said you do always resist the holy ghost as your fathers did so to you and it just said they it just cut them to the heart and that's when they they decided to kill him but what did it take god was convicting him god was drawing him god was was hearing the prayers of saints that were praying for him but it took a manifestation here what i'm saying it took a manifestation of the glory of god the power of god an encounter with god's power to knock saul down on the ground blind him and get his attention and i know i've shared this before he wasn't on his way to church y'all i mean yeah to drag some people to prison but he wasn't going there to worship he wasn't going there is curious he wasn't a seeker and god wasn't seeker friendly either was he blinded the man knocked him on the ground how is it that you persecute me i think if paul at that point if saul would have resisted god and said i don't want you i believe you struck him dead right then and there it's my opinion but i believe it why because the glory had manifested you think about this this thing about glory of the glory of god see all i'm saying about about we need glory is i'm just saying i'm saying that we need god to manifest himself we need god to show up and do some things and granted he is doing some things but oh how much more we need and i said we need god to really manifest the fullness of his glory one more time time is running out we don't have much more time one more time one more time one more revival one more real glorious move of god before this thing wraps up and and it's over with but there's something about the glory of god that that you have to pull on it you have to want that more than anything else and a group of people to get that have to really really really desire that i'll show you just let me show you this right here i go to psalm psalm 63 this is one of my favorite passages about the glory of god psalm 63 [Music] and this is a psalm of david and in my bible here it says a psalm of david when he was in the wilderness of judah meaning when he was running for his life in the wilderness from saul king saul and look what he says here this was david's longing his desire literally the heading over my psalm 63 here says yearning for god and he says oh god you are my god early will

i seek thee my soul thirsts for thee my flesh longs for thee in a dry and thirsty land where no water is to see your power and your glory so as i have seen you in the sanctuary because your loving kindness is better than life my lips will praise you i want you to see that right there though he said early will i seek you and that doesn't just mean early in the morning in the hebrew probably in some of your translations it says earnestly or diligently lord i want you and what is he saying lord i i long for you i thirst for you in a dry and thirsty land where no water is this is a man that was running for his life in the wilderness who understood thirst remember how he missed and later on in his life how when he was king and he he said oh that i had some water from the well that is in bethlehem and his mighty men broke through the philistines and got him a a glass of water i mean this is a man and one thing i've been to israel you spent a little time there you understand thirst the climate is so dry and it is so it's a weird dustiness in the air and you just get so thirsty but listen to me y'all every now and then i believe god like like trying to get a a you know a one-year-old or a you know a baby to walk is what do you do you hold them up you help them get started but you gotta back awake you gotta let them you got to let them try and so many times with god you know he'll he'll pick us up he'll be right there we'll feel his presence we'll feel his glory in our life but then there are seasons that he hides himself he backs away and he backs away so that we will what hunger and thirst for him it's a testing time are we going to fill that void that we feel with things of the world or the lust of the flesh or sins or just you know being lazy or are we going to hunger and thirst after him and what did what did david say here he said i hunger i'm a man that's my soul is thirsty for you god he said my soul is thirsty for you my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land where no one is and what what to see your power and your glory to see your power and your glory how many of you want to see the power and the glory of god see i want to see i have seen it and he says this he says so as i have seen in the sanctuary meaning i have seen god's power and glory before but i'm not satisfied with what i had before i'm not satisfied with the past i want more of god now i want to see the glory of god now i want to see the power of god now i want to see god i want my soul to be satisfied with the glory of god with with with with
