Welcome you here today. Holy Spirit, we need you right now. Lord, we just, I pray for freedom in this place to worship you, give you glory, Lord, to have our hearts, Lord Jesus.
We're gonna do one more song. But I just wanna say this today, as Hannah was finishing that, and she is definitely anointed to do that. The anointing is here. The presence of the Lord is here. And I just wanna encourage you to believe, everything in the kingdom of God operates by faith. And faith means you believe it before you see it. I mean, you totally believe it before you see it. I just wanna say that today and tomorrow, many of you that came in here with heaviness and demonic strongholds and maybe some issues and even some physical infirmities, the Lord began to tell me over there, there's gonna be some folks get healed today. They're gonna get healed. All right. The spirit of infirmity is gonna leave this place this weekend, amen. It's one of those spirits we're gonna get rid of this weekend. The spirit of infirmity is one of them. But you have to believe it. You have to believe it not because it's me. I am nothing. But in the name of Jesus, we have authority. And when we do what the word of God says to do, when we believe it and act upon it, God moves, God works. And that's all you have to know is that when I believe God's word and act upon it in faith, things will change. If you doubt they will change, guess what? They will not change. You have to believe when you bind the demons and command them to leave in the name of Jesus, you have to believe that they have to go. You understand? They cannot stay. Cannot stay. When we resist the devil, he must flee from us. Amen, and he will today, I'm telling you. He will, but we have so many new people here today and we're gonna have new people watching and everything. We are going to cover some of the basics and we're gonna get into some of the deeper stuff. Like I said, some children might have to walk out because we're gonna have to deal with some things. But let's do this song and then we'll get started in the teaching on deliverance. All right. On the road that bridges lift burning. A lot of dead and learning. I don't wanna cause I built a trap out of the way I'm living. I don't wanna be a prisoner. I don't wanna be a prince.
All right, go ahead and praise the Lord. Y'all pray against this crazy demon that's trying to mess with our sound equipment here this morning. I wanna play something for you because, and you can be seated this morning. We're gonna get into the word now, but I'm gonna share something. I wanna share, I did this with our students in our graduations last three years. We're going into the fourth year of the School of Ministry. And so we couldn't find it, but I have it on my phone. So I'm gonna play it on my phone here. But this is a prophecy over me in November of 1989. 1989, November 19th, 1989. Let's see if you can hear it. Hallelujah. Lord, I thank you for this brother. And I thank you for the commitment. You know, brother, this is what I see. I see you before God. And I see you kneeling there before the Lord in an absolute contrition, absolute dedication unto Him, just putting your life there, saying, God, it's yours. And God's taking you up on it. God's placed a calling up in your life. God's gonna have you teach. There's a teaching anointing that's going to come upon you that will be very powerful in the body of Christ. God says a teacher in my fivefold ministry, you will be the cause of the things that I'm stirring inside of you. This is not a day of release, but this is a day of preparation for you. But there'll be a day of release when I will launch you and I'll push you forth, says the Lord. And you will walk forth in my anointing and my power. And you shall teach, but there shall not be the things that all would expect, but they will be the things of God that will set the captives free and liberate my body to be what I've called it to be. For you will train many others that will go forth and they too shall teach. And they shall break the strongholds of the enemy by that taught word, says the Lord. Hallelujah. Now think about that. 1989, folks, go ahead and give the Lord praise there. I can tell you right now, and I just feel it very strongly that many of you are called to go forth and set the captives free. You hear me? It's not about me. It's not about Fire and Grace Church. It's not just about us. It's about you becoming the ministers of Jesus Christ you're supposed to be. And ministers of Jesus Christ not only preach the Gospel, call people to repentance and faith in Jesus,
but they lay hands on the sick and they recover. They cast out demons. They speak with new tongues. They take up serpents and we're gonna deal with that today. But that is what it's all about. That's the only way the captives are gonna get set free. You're gonna hear a couple of powerful testimonies about that in a little bit. Let's get into this this morning. I've entitled this Spiritual Warfare 101. I have modified these. These are not exactly what I've been through in the school but you'll see here. Anyway, these are just a few verses. We're gonna get into the Word. So I hope you have your Bibles with you so you can go ahead and open your Bibles this morning. Remember what the prophecy was there from Prophet Gene May back in 1989 was the taught Word. It's important to teach the Word. Jesus, just remember this, Jesus' ministry was basically three things. Jesus' ministry was teaching. His ministry was teaching. And of course, and that included all aspects of him teaching the Word, his prophetic ministry, the whole nine yards. But it was teaching, healing the sick, and casting out demons. You notice that's what Jesus did. Now Jesus said that the works that I do, ye shall do also, right? John 12. So we're supposed to do what Jesus did. So if he taught the Word and he was a teacher, he was known as a teacher, then the teaching ministry is important. The healing ministry is important. And the deliverance ministry is important. So this is why we're gonna teach the Word this morning. So your faith is not in any person. Your faith is in the Bible, the Word of God, amen? So let's look at it. Satan is always at work, isn't he? Sound system and everything. But just here's a few verses. Zechariah 3.1, and he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. Now I say the devil is always standing nearby people. The devil or his demons are standing by people. Anybody that's trying to do anything for God are called to do anything for God. He is always going to be there to resist you, to fight against you, to oppose you, to make things tedious and difficult. That's just the way it is. We are in a spiritual war. Here's another one. First Chronicles 21.1, and Satan stood up against Israel and provoked David to number Israel. Remember, God didn't want his kings numbering the people. So he provoked David to disobey and get the whole nation in trouble. But it was Satan that stood up against Israel. Look at this here. This is Luke 22, three through four. Then entered Satan into Judas, surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the 12. And he went on his way and communed with the chief priests and captains
how that he might betray him. Notice that this is very important too. Judas was called by Jesus. So he had the calling of God on his life. Then he was given the anointing to go out and heal the sick and cast out demons, which he did. Judas was a true disciple of Jesus until he decided to betray him. But what finished everything off? It says Satan entered into him, not upon him, not oppression. Satan entered into him. And we're gonna show you today. You open the door to the devil, he can enter and he can cause great problems. Of course, everybody ought to know this verse. Ephesians 6, 12 declares that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual wickedness in high places. This is our fight. It shouldn't be strange that we have to deal with the devil. Did you know there's pastors now that won't even talk about the devil or demons or spiritual warfare. And actually deep down, I think they don't believe it. I know my brother Allen's here today. I'm glad to have him here. He spent a little time at Southeastern Theological Seminary down in Florida way, way back when. And I know him and my other buddy Craig were there and they told me that the professors there were teaching against this stuff. We're teaching against spiritual warfare in the 80s. They were teaching against it. Can you imagine what the seminaries are doing now when it comes to spiritual warfare and casting out demons? But here it is, we were told this is our battle. And wrestling is not long distance fighting. Wrestling is up close and personal, all right? So the demons are all about being up close and personal. I wanted you to see this and it talks about principalities. The Greek word is arche here. And it means chief or leader. You'll see that right there. The first place, principality, rule, magistries of angels and demons. So you have princes, you have angels that are higher in authority than other angels. You also have fallen angels that are higher in authority than other fallen angels. And then we're gonna find out what the demons are because many of you have been taught that the fallen angels are the demons. It's not true. Fallen angels are one thing, demon spirits, unclean, evil spirits are another thing. But there is a hierarchy. They are called leaders. So when he talks about principalities and powers, we see here where Daniel was praying and he was fasting for 21 days and he was praying for God to move and do his will to set the captives free from Babylon. And he says here, but the prince of the kingdom of Persia, that could be principality there. The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me.
That mean opposed me, resisted me, fought against me. And this is the angel Gabriel saying this, 20 days, but lo, Michael, one of the chief princes came to help me and I remained there with the kings of Persia. So you see there's this ongoing warfare in the spirit realm in the skies above us. Folks, it's not in hell under us. They work, and that's why Satan, one of his names is the principality and power of the air. It's out here where they're fighting, not from down there. Let's keep going here. He says thou know us that wherefore I'm come to thee now return and fight with the prince of Persia. When I'm gone forth, lo, the prince of Grisha will come. So here's Michael and Gabriel, chief angels talking about how they have to fight with other fallen angels, principalities and powers. This is going on in our world all the time and it's going on for you. There were years ago when I was doing college campus ministry back in the early and mid 90s, we went to the University of Malinvalo, which is just up the road a little bit near Birmingham. And we went there and did a meeting on Halloween and we put these flyers everywhere about witches and Satanists and everything else. Well, the witches and Satanists came to the meeting. They flooded it, filled the meeting that night. And I remember feeling the warfare. I led worship that night and then I got up and preached it. I remember feeling like this demonic push at me. And then I remember as I started preaching, I felt it push back and go out of the room. Well, one of my little ones at the time, she said, dad, you know what I saw? While you were leading praise and worship, she goes, I said, no. She said, dad, there was an angel standing beside you with a guitar just like you had a guitar. And she said, and I saw the demons in the back of the room went up to the ceiling and then a bunch of angels came up behind you and they were fighting over us. And she saw this and I felt it in the spirit. I didn't see it, but she saw it. She said, and then when you started preaching, dad, I saw the angels push the demons back out of the room. She said, then my angel sat down at a table right in front of me and was smiling at her. So this is real. I love it when little ones see stuff and tell us, you know, out of the mouth of babes, God has perfected praise, right? Now I wanna read something from the book of Enoch here. Now I believe the book of Enoch is legitimate. Only Enoch one that was found in the Dead Sea Scrolls. And of course we know that Jude quotes it. We know that first Peter, second Peter, it's quoted. We know that actually Jesus quoted, even the term son of man came from the book of Enoch. But let's read this here and I'm gonna give you the scriptures to back this up here
because the disciples were very familiar with the book of Enoch. And one of the reasons I believe it's not in our Bible is because we didn't have ancient manuscripts to prove it until 1947 when the Dead Sea Scrolls were found and now we know what's legitimate and what's not. There's some fake books of Enoch, but there's a legitimate book. So this is Enoch 15, eight through 12. And we know from Genesis six about the giants, the sons of God, the fallen angels, a group of them decided to have relations with human women and they created the race of the giants called the Nephilim, some called the Rafa'im. You had the Zamzumim, you had the, yeah, Emim's. You had a whole bunch of descendants from the giants and human women. It says here in Enoch 15, eight through 12, and now the giants who were born from body and flesh will be called evil spirits on the earth. And on the earth will be their dwelling. And evil spirits came out from their flesh because from above they were created and from the holy watchers was their origin and first foundation. Evil spirits, they will be on earth. And spirits of the evil ones, they will be called. And the dwelling of the spirits of heaven is heaven, but the dwelling of the spirits of the earth who were born on the earth is earth. And the spirits of the giants do wrong and are corrupt. They attack, fight, break on the earth and cause sorrow. They eat no food, they do not thirst and are not observed. So you don't see them, they don't eat, they don't do like we do, they're spirits. He says, and these spirits will rise against the sons of men and against the women because they came out of them in the days of slaughter and destruction. So we're told here that the evil spirits in the world came from the giants, the Nephilim, the evil ones that were the offspring of the angels, the fallen angels and the human women. Now how do we know this? Because the Bible tells us here, the fallen angels are chained until the end. There's only a few, I believe very few, Satan being one of them, that's been loosed. We're dealing with evil spirits primarily. And I'll show you. He says, for if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness to be reserved unto judgment. Now when did that happen? That's past tense. He's telling you that the angels that sinned, God didn't spare them. They have been cast down to hell and delivered into chains of darkness reserved to the day of judgment. This is 2 Peter 2.4. Jude 1.6, where Enoch is quoted by the half brother of Jesus, the apostle Jude. He says here, and the angels which kept not their first estate but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains
under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Can somebody say the angels that fell are chained in hell, under the earth? Here we have. The book of Revelation tells us that some of these angels, these fallen angels are going to be loosed in the last days. Why? Because they've been chained. They've been held. And the six angels sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God saying to the six angel which had the trumpet, loosed the four angels which were bound in the great river Euphrates, and the four angels were loosed which were prepared for an hour, a day, a month, and a year for it to slay the third part of men. So we see that these angels have been chained but some are going to be let loose in the last days. We see this, them coming out of the bottomless pit in earlier in chapter nine. I believe those are demons and fallen angels. A baton is a fallen angel that's gonna come out of the bottomless pit, the destroyer. But this just lets you know, we definitely have clear two classes. Fallen angels, principalities, they're the leaders, and you have these evil spirits that are from the spirits of the giants who died in the flood and in other ways. Here you see, of course, he talks about, I like this right here where he says, when it says the rulers of the darkness of this world, it says here in the Thayer's lexicon, the world rulers of this darkness. This is what we're fighting, the world rulers of this darkness. And they love to rule politicians and pastors. Now here's first Peter five, eight, nine. I want to get into this for this reason because again, this is where he tells us, we are not to be passive in our stance against these evil spirits and against these fallen angels. We're never to be passive. You're never to sit there, just let them beat on you, to let them speak to you, to let them continue to tempt you, to talk to you, torment you. You're not to sit there and go, oh, poor pitiful me. No, you're supposed to resist. You're supposed to fight. And the word resist is very strong. It means to actively fight against, do something. He says, be sober, be vigilant because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom he may devour. Meaning there's some people he can devour and destroy and there's some people he can't. I wonder who the people he can't, the people that know Jesus, the people that know the truth, the people that actively resist him. But know what devour means. I love this. Devour means that he doesn't destroy you in one whack. He's chewing you up bit by bit.
Anybody ever felt that way? That he was just destroying your life one little piece at a time? Well, that's what he does. But he says here, the devil's as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. So he's saying, look, it's not gonna be easy at times. It's going to be some suffering. There's gonna be some affliction, but still resist him, fight him. Fight the devil, fight the demons, resist them. Well, how do you resist them? First of all, everybody knows in Jesus' name, but we're gonna get more specific here in just a second. Let's read another one. Here's from the apostle Paul, 2 Timothy 4, 16 through 17. He says, at my first answer, no man stood with me, but all men forsook me. I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge, notwithstanding the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, and that by me, the preaching might be fully known and that all the Gentiles might hear, and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. I love this passage because Paul is admitting, yeah, there were times he got a hold of me. There were times that I was in his mouth, I was in jeopardy, I was in danger, I was in pain, I was in affliction, but the Lord delivered me out of the mouth of the lion. Come on now, that's good news right there. Anybody ever felt like you were in the mouth of the lion? Woo, yeah. But the Lord will deliver you, but how does he deliver? Does he deliver just by you sitting there doing nothing? No, he never said that. He never said, we're gonna sit there and do nothing. Let's keep going here. Paul made this statement, I love this, 1 Corinthians 15, 32. You know, remember, when he was in Ephesus, he had to confront people who were worshiping Diana. So he confronted this group of people, and people were into all kind of witchcraft and sorcery, it called it curious arts. They had their books and all of their paraphernalia for worshiping false gods and doing witchcraft. And so when he went to Ephesus, Paul had quite the battle. All right, that's why it was Ephesians he wrote, we wrestled not against flesh and blood. He knew what he was talking about, and he said here, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus. Now he wasn't talking about fighting real beasts, real lions and bears and those type of things. No, he's saying, I fought with beasts at Ephesus. He's talking about these principalities and powers and rulers of the darkness of this world. And he even said, I have fought with these beasts. He said, what good is it if the dead rise not? Basically saying, man, I'll be glad when this battle is over. It'll be great to be with the Lord, to be resurrected and have that new body and be with Jesus. But right now we're in a fight. I don't know about y'all, but back in the day
before I followed Jesus, I was a fighter, a real fighter. And I fought some guys that were a lot bigger than me, a lot stronger than me. But you know what they found out? They found out that I had a lot of fight in me. It's not the size of the fighter, it's the amount of the fight, right? And you can have some fight in you. But sometimes, I've had my jaw smacked a couple of times and you go, okay, now we're in a fight. Then you decide, okay, am I gonna lose or am I gonna win? And I found out it has a lot to do with sheer determination, right? I will not lose. This is how we have to be. I will not lose this fight. You gotta be that way. When Paul said that he fought with beast at Ephesus, it's interesting because the term fought with beast or fight with wild beast, the term here, and I'm not even gonna try to pronounce this Greek word, it's a fun one. And but it says here, I want you to notice this, where it says to be a beast fighter in the gladiatorial show, like a gladiator. The gladiators would get in the Roman Colosseum and they would release lions and tigers and bears and I mean, and they would fight these creatures. And Paul was referring to that. It is a fight to the death. It is about, and listen, the devil is after your, not just your physical life. He's after your spiritual life to deceive you, then to kill you and he wants to take you to hell forever. That's his goal. You can't let him as a Christian. He said, well, Pastor Dean, I thought if I was a Christian born again Christian, I couldn't be touched. Who told you that? I know that there's preachers out there that's preached this over the years, but has this been the experience of any Christian that you know? No. I remember the old Pentecostal preachers. I got the victory. And I'm not mocking them. I thank God for they had some victory, but you know what? I would find out about their personal lives and their family life and they didn't have the victory. You know why? Most of them were just good at shouting and what I call the Pentecostal pep rally, but they didn't know how to fight the devil and the devil was beating them to death in their home. And they didn't last. Many of them are out of the ministry now because they were just beat to death and their family and their children. It was just, and they would mock people like me talking about you need to bind the demons and resist the demons and get the accursed thing out of your house. And they would mock me, but I'm still here. This is for real. This battle's for real.
Matthew 10, one, when he had called unto him his 12 disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits to cast them out and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. This is normal Christianity. You understand, this is how Jesus started everything. I can't believe there are preachers that say that we're not supposed to do these things. These things passed away in the first century or no more or whatever. This is nonsense. Jesus gave power or authority to his disciples. Notice how it says against unclean spirits, comma, to cast them out, comma, and to heal. You have power or authority against unclean spirits to stop them, not always to cast them out. I will stop demons working through unsaved people. I don't cast demons out of unsaved people. This is an important point, you need to understand. You don't need to cast demons out of unsaved people. You know why? They have no means to keep the demons out. You will actually make them worse if you cast demons out of an unsaved person, which means deliverance ministry is for Christians. Yet, we've been taught that Christians can't have demons. We're gonna address that in the next session, but let's keep going. Of course, Jesus said here, Luke 10, 19, behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions that over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you. So again, this word power means authority. And I want you to notice here that this was not the group of 12 he was speaking to. This was the 70. Remember, there were 70 other disciples that were following Jesus, that he gave the anointing of the Holy Spirit to and the authority to go cast out demons and heal the sick. So this blows it out of the water that it was only for the 12 apostles, right? He gave this to the 70. How many of y'all know Luke was one of the 70, right? Luke was one of the 70, and we know he went forth. So this reveals that the power is not just given to the 12 apostles of the Lamb, but even to babes as Jesus called them. And this is the good news. If you're a baby Christian, you can be just saved yesterday or this morning, and God has given you authority over demons and devils. That is what was beautiful. A lot of this stuff I did in my early days was right after I rededicated my life to the Lord and got filled with the Holy Spirit. And I just found out in Jesus' name, I'm gonna cast out demons. In Jesus' name, I can bind demons. I just started doing it. And amazing, 19 years old, 20 years old, 21 years old, it was working. And that's why Jesus said, oh man, I had rejoiced that this was given to babes. This is for all believers to understand you have this authority and power in the name of Jesus
to cast out demons. There's the word authority, the Greek definition. You'll have two words a lot of times. The King James and English translations will translate power. Usually it's either authority, it's either exusia, authority or dunamis, meaning the miraculous power of God. But this here is exusia or exusia. And it just means the ability, the privilege, the force, the capacity. It's delegated authority from Jesus. So everybody say this. I have delegated authority from Jesus against all demons and even Satan himself. There you go. All right, let's read Mark 16, 15 through 18. Get the word in it. Mark 16, 15 through 18. Jesus said unto them, go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth in his baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe. In my name they shall cast out devils. They shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents. And this doesn't mean picking up snakes. And if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word with signs following. Again, I wanna say this whole passage right here is normal Christianity, normal Christianity. When Jehovah Witnesses used to come to my door, I would get them to turn in their screwed up, corrupted new world translation. I would get them to turn to Mark 16. You know, recently they took it out because I guess I got people doing this a lot. But I would turn and I say, do these things happen in your church in, what is it? Kingdom Hall, I couldn't think of the name. I'd say, does this happen in Kingdom Hall? And they would go, no. And you know, they would always have an experienced one and then a trainee and the trainee would be going, oh, no, you know, and looking at the other one and you know, you immediately divided them. And I say, well, they happened in my church, so why would I go to your church? I said, because I've seen, I said, I cast out demons and we see the sick heal and people speaking tongues and baptizing the Holy Spirit, like Acts chapter two, I said, so what do you have to offer me? Nothing, your church is dead, empty. And they'd be going, oh. They actually must have put me on the list because they stopped coming to my house. I hadn't had Jehovah Witnesses in years. We used to have them all the time, but yeah, they come next door and then they run.
Now this power and this authority as we see is not for everyone. You can't just pick up the name of Jesus and start using it. If you're not really a born again child of God, you must be born again. You must know that you are saved, washed in the blood of Jesus and your spirit's been regenerated. You have to know you're saved because we see some folks that decided, well, I see what Paul's doing. He's casting out demons. Let's just go try this in Jesus name. Nope, that didn't work for them. And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul that from his body were brought into the sick handkerchiefs or aprons and diseases departed from them and evil spirits went out of them. Now this is powerful right here. Just Paul's clothing drove out demons. If your clothing's not driving out demons then you got some room to grow, right? All right. Probably need to get a little more anointed, all right. But it says then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus saying we adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches. We'll say if you want us to talk about this happening in the modern day, it happens a lot within the Catholic Church. Now don't get me wrong. I believe there's Catholics that are born again and saved that love Jesus. And some of them cast out demons and they have some success. But there are Catholics, most of them, these priests, these exorcists, you want to talk about why they get beat up, thrown across the room and some of them get killed is because of this right here. And there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jew, chief of the priests, which did so and the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know and Paul I know, but who are you? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them and overcame them and prevailed against them so that they fled out of the house naked and wounded. And that's just another thing. If you're seeing deliverance sessions where the deliverance ministers and the people are getting hurt or wounded or anything like that, something's wrong. Something's seriously wrong. One of the worst situations I had one time, I was praying for a man who had been molested when he was very young, gotten into a homosexual lifestyle because of that, got saved and filled with the Holy Spirit and became a minister of the gospel and was a minister in a church for about 10 years. I was good friends with him and but he didn't know about deliverance. And so he still had all these demonic strongholds in him because you don't just get the getting saved does not get the demons out of it. All right, there's something you're gonna learn today. What those of you have been saved and you still have demonic strongholds, it's like trying to hold beach balls underwater. You can only do it for so long. The beach balls are going to pop up. All right, so this guy, and I'm still friends with him to this day, loving, but he came to us and said, after he heard me teach on deliverance and of course he fell back into his homosexuality, he got busted, he lost his job in this big church
and his wife left him, his kids wouldn't talk to him. I mean, it was terrible. I felt, my heart just felt bad for him and I reached out to him. And finally he decided, oh, I need deliverance. But here's what the thing was. He really wasn't ready to let go of his sin. And he put a stipulation on God. He said, God, if you bring my wife back to me, then I'll serve you. Well, when he came to us with his list of doorways that he'd opened and he had quite the list, I remember starting to pray for him and I began to sense something is wrong. We weren't getting anywhere and the demons manifested. Now, sometimes they manifest, not always, but sometimes they take over the person and they start talking through and they start to usually be a different voice and they usually be their face starts contorting, they'll be growling, I mean, just weird stuff will start happening. But I remember the demons started talking through him and his whole face changed and he goes, they basically said, we're not going anywhere because he wants us here. He wants his sin. And then they took his hands, his own hands around his throat and threw him to the floor and were trying to choke him to death. He was turning purple. And I remember just again, this is not gonna happen. I commanded them to stop in Jesus name. I said, stop, you will not kill him. You will not destroy him. Stop in the name of Jesus. Now, his hands let go, took off. And I said, and I commanded them to be pushed in the background. And I talked to him, I said, brother, this is not happening, you know it. And he admitted, I said, you gotta serve Jesus whether your wife comes back to you or not. You gotta serve Jesus whether your children ever talk to you again or not. You gotta make up your mind, is Jesus gonna be number one and you're gonna hate your sin and turn away from it, then God can set you free. And this is another thing. The most important issue, and if you hear any, if you don't hear anything else I say today, you better hear this. Getting the demons out is easy. Getting people to repent and really live for Jesus, that's the hard part. Anybody that truly repents, turns away from their sin and truly makes Jesus Lord of their lives, it's gonna be easy to get them free. They just need a little knowledge, sometimes a little help, sometimes they can do it themselves. But the problem is getting people to repent. Too many people want to add Jesus to their sinful lifestyle. And you can't do that. You're gonna have to be ready to let go of the fornication, the adultery, the pornography, the hatred, the unforgiveness you have toward somebody that maybe hurt you. You know, we got a lot of people in here today.
You know, the old statistics were one in four girls were sexually molested when they were young and one in six boys. You imagine in this room, there's probably some we don't even know about. And so I wanna tell you that right now. I know some of you may be struggling, but the most important thing for you to do is confess your sins, repent, let Jesus wash your sins away and start walking with him as a disciple. Even if you're struggling, even if you're stumbling around, if you're serious about making Jesus Lord and being a disciple, then you can get the demons out. Amen? All right. And you won't be like these people, the sons of skewer. Let's keep going here. And this is just a good verse for that. John 1.12. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. So you gotta be a son or daughter of God through being saved. Now, here in Matthew 8.16, how do we resist the devil? I'm bringing this one out just to bring out the principle of, you have to speak to them. You have to speak out loud. Sometimes if you don't wanna seem crazy to a bunch of your family members, you might have to go in the bathroom and do it quietly, especially at Thanksgiving. But it works just the same. But this is, it's by speaking. When the evening was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils and he cast out the spirits with his word and healed all that were sick. So it's speaking. You have to speak to them. Now, it says here, of course, submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. Again, how do you resist? By speaking. This verse is gonna come up even again later. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. You have to speak. Again, I'm so also, I know my brother probably gonna get tired of me referring to him, but we had a powerful incident. I've shared this, and many of you have heard this. In 1987, when I came back from Arkansas on fire for Jesus, and we were, you know, we were hanging out. I came back for Christmas time. And of course, I'd already moved out of the house. I wasn't living at home, but I was staying at mom's house. Allen was still in high school and I was staying at mom's house and mom and my stepdad decided to go out. You know, this was right after Christmas. They decided to go out and drink it and party in as they would do. And Allen and I just stayed home. We were watching preaching on TV and they came in. I don't know if it was 11 o'clock or midnight, but they came in,
you know, a little on the drunk side and just lost it on us. I mean, chaos, yelling, screaming, cussing. I'm like, you know, back when we were smoking dope and doing drugs and drinking, this never happened. I'm like, what in the world is going on? And so, you know, we were trying to talk, it got so bad that my stepdad actually went and pulled a gun on me. Yeah, it was getting real up in there, right? We're about to have some domestic violence. And I remember, I don't remember how he ended up going to his room and finally passing out and mom was still just, mom was just, and if you knew my mom, you'd go, you saw her before she passed away, you'd be like, no way. This lady was cussing people out, her own sons. No way. Yeah, way. She was doing it. And I remember, Alan was in the kitchen with her and I was instilling the den. I guess I had kind of, I don't know, I kind of went into the other room and then I came back, but Alan was in there and mom was just, just yelling. Finally, Alan got sick and tired of it and just said, I bind the demons in you. I rebuke them in the name of Jesus. And let me tell you, she shut up and sat down. True story. And we were able to sit down at the table together and have a serious conversation and tell her about Jesus. And that was on a Saturday night. The next morning, my stepdad, which was weird, why he ended up having to go to work on Saturday. I'm a Sunday morning. He went to work. I told Alan and Jennifer, my sister, brothers, y'all go ahead and go to church. Cause I felt like I was supposed to stay home and talk to mom. And I stayed home and my mom, we had a great conversation and led her to Jesus that day. That was the day my mom was born again. And I asked my mom right before she died, I was with her in the hospital. And I thought, everybody in the South takes us about three or four times to get saved, right? Right. And I asked mom though, when she was in the hospital, I said, mom, I said, when was the first time you were ever really just born again? Cause I thought maybe she went to church or when she was younger and everything. And she said, that day when I prayed with you, I was like, wow, I didn't even know that. I mean, so the demons, remember Satan blinds the minds of those who don't believe. And a lot of times we're seeing people coming at us and they're cussing us and they're fighting us and they're resisting us and they're not listening to us. And sometimes you just need to bind and rebuke the demons in there. We've seen this with other family members that were losing their minds on us. My wife on one, there was a heated argument and my wife was on the porch and I'm out in the yard arguing with this family member
cause she cussed out some of my church members. And my wife's on the porch real quietly, she said, I bind the demons in her in Jesus name. Her feet flew out from under, nobody was around her. Her feet flew out from under, she hit the ground, her mouth stopped and she walked off of our property and come back for six months. This is how powerful this is. We're dealing with demons in people. When people are attacking you and it's like, this is stupid. What is happening here? When it's just, you better start addressing that in them. All right, and the power of your words. Now I was gonna go back to this. Remember when it said take up serpents? Remember I said that I was gonna get back to that. Jesus called demons and devils, serpents and scorpions. Those are symbolic terms for demons, for unclean spirits. If you look up the word there, what says take up serpents, the take up is the word Iero here. And I like what it says here because it says to raise the voice, to keep in suspense. And I tell you, there's two things you need to know. There's binding demons and there's casting out demons. These are two different things. Binding a demon, and I'm gonna give you the definition if you're writing, binding a demon is a temporary suspense of their activity. This is to be used in people or in situations where you're not really, people are not really prepared to have them cast out of them, but you have to stop their activity against you. Now this can be through another person's coming at you, like I just shared with my mom. And that other relative, or it can just be you getting attacked. Y'all know what I'm talking about. You can be sitting there minding your own business. You might even just finish praying and fasting for a week. And here comes the devil with this load of nonsense. It could be filth, lust, it could be anger, you could be trying to stir you up to be mad at somebody and you'll have this flood of thoughts and feelings. You better bind those demons in Jesus name and rebuke them. I'm gonna explain why I keep saying this term, bind them. Because guess what? It's what Jesus said to do. It's kind of simple. But again, this is not about taking up serpents. It's about that temporary suspense. For instance, our army rangers I've heard, I think this is at Fort Benning, but our army rangers are trained. They'll throw them in a pit and they'll throw some snakes in there. Because if they're in the bush, if they're hiding and a snake comes up upon them, they can't make a lot of racket, can't be freaking out. So if you have to deal with a rattlesnake and Jesse, this does not go for you anymore. You're done with that.
But sometimes they would teach them how to grab ahold of them. And if you grab ahold of them right, like Steve Irwin, you grab ahold of them right and don't let behind their head, they can't get you. And you pick them up, you're suspending their ability to do what they would do. Now, some of them are pretty stout and tough, as we know. But this is what you do. And this is what you would see people that hunt snakes and they're into all that, they have to get ahold of them. They get them in a tube or something, or they get ahold of their head, but they suspend their ability to strike you and poison you. This is what binding is about. Binding demons, taking up serpents. This is what this is about. This is a tool that you must use frequently a weapon or you're gonna be in trouble. Now, here's where Jesus first taught this. This is Matthew 16, 13 through 19. Says, when Jesus came into the coast of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples saying, who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am? And they said, some say thou art John the Baptist, some Elias or Elijah and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. And he said unto them, but whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answers to thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto them, blessed art thou Simon Barjona, for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. I say also unto thee that thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell should not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Can everybody say the keys of the kingdom of heaven? Say, I have the keys. All right, hold on a second. Where are my keys? Oh, I'll put them in there. Somebody give me some keys real quick. All right, here's the keys. Is that the key to your car? All right, key to your car. Now, see this keys, I can give you the keys, right? Here's your keys back. You have the keys. Now, will that car ever go anywhere if you don't use those keys? No. If you wanna go anywhere in the kingdom of God, you better understand you have the keys to bind and to loose. We bind demons, we loose people. There's a teaching in the charismatic church that you loose demons, that's witchcraft. You don't loose demons, ever. You hear me, ever. You never say demon, I loose you. Never, never ever in any situation. You bind the demons, you loose people. But he says that I will build my church, the gates of hell will not prevail against it. So the context of this passage is spiritual warfare
against Satan, the demons, the gates of hell. He says, I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven in the spirit realm, and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Now there are things we loose. I tell the demons to loose money. That's why I don't ask y'all for it. Because the devil's what's holding back is he's holding back by talking to people. So when I tell him to loose what we need to do something, it gets loosed, right? When I tell him to let go of certain things, he's gotta let go. I tell him to loose people that are supposed to come to meetings. Because the devil tries to keep people from church like all the time, in creative ways. But these keys of the kingdom binding and loosing. Now I wanna show you this. This is Matthew chapter 12. We're almost to the end of this session. We're gonna take a little break and then we're gonna come back for kinda Christian have a demon. I say this all the time, the Christian can have whatever they want. The two of you agree it shall be done. You agree with the devil, you got it. All right? But here's what Jesus was teaching in Matthew 12, verse 22 through 28. Then was brought unto him one possessed with the devil. Now I'm gonna deal with this in a little bit, but the word possessed in English, we think it means total control. That's not what it means in Greek. It means more about being afflicted, tormented, vexed, and those are degrees. You can get to the point of total possession, but most of us are not there. But you may have a stronghold in one little area of your life. Well that's enough though to cause you a lot of problems. It doesn't mean you're totally controlled. You're not Linda Blair with your head spinning around spitting out pea soup, all right? But you still are being tormented and vexed in the area. Anybody feel like they got an area they're tormented and vexed in? It's okay. It's okay because guess what? I know the rest of you, the ones that raised your hand telling the truth, the rest of you liars, but you'll get free from that. It's all right. There's a lying spirit in the Bible. We'll get rid of it in a minute. All right? But says there was brought unto him one possessed with the devil blind and dumb and he healed him in so much that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. And all the people were amazed and said, it's not this, the son of David. But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, this fellow did not cast out devils, but by Beals above, the prince of the devils. And Jesus knew their thoughts and said unto them, every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand. And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself. How shall then his kingdom stand? Which again, you see a ministry that focuses on casting demons out of people. They're on our side, all right?
And he says here, if I by Beals above cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. But if I cast out devils by the spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. This is what I love about this. Jesus is saying if I'm casting devils out, then the kingdom of God is near. Kingdom of God is there. What is he saying? This is part of it. This is supposed to be a big part of it. Because people are, you know the scripture where it says he came, Luke 4 says he came to set the captives free, right? He came to preach deliverance to the captives. The word captive there means prisoner of war. Well, guess what? That means you're on the right side. If the devil's taking you and you're his prisoner of war, you're on the right side. You're just a prisoner of war. And the Lord wants you free from that. He wants to break you free from being a prisoner of war. And this is how it's done. This is what the kingdom of God is all about, setting people free. And then verse 29 is the key here of this passage right here. I hope you all get this one. Jesus said, or else how can one enter into a strong man's house and spoil his goods except he first bind the strong man and then he will spoil his house. So speaking about the enemy, remember, Jesus just cast demons out of a deaf and dumb person and he cast out a deaf and dumb spirit. It's not complicated. He cast that out and they were healed. And he said, but how do you get the strong man out of the house and set the house free? How do you get him out? First, bind the strong man. Do you know Jesus only said to do two things first? Matthew 6.33 said, seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. And then all these things will be added to you. And then he said, first, bind the strong man. That's how important it is. Now, how do you do that, Pastor Dean? Say the words, I bind the strong man of lust in the name of Jesus. I'm gonna show you this. You're gonna like my little illustration here. Found a little lust demon, all right? All right, here's the strong man would be the spirit of Hordums. The Bible mentions the spirit of Hordums. What is Hordums? Lust, sexual lust, perversion. So in this area of sexual sin and immorality, you would have a strong man. So you got the strong man, the spirit of Hordums, and then their house, lust, fornication, adultery, homosexuality, pedophilia, incest, voyeurism, pornography, bestiality, sexual rape, violence, transgenderism.
I mean, that's not even an exhaustive list. This is showing you there's your strong man and there's the house. When I pray for somebody who's going through lust problems, of course, I look at the doorways and see what doors they've opened to let these things in and we deal with it that way. But when I start going through sexual sin and sexual demons in somebody, the first thing I do is in Jesus' name, I bind the spirit of Hordums in them in Jesus' name. I bind the strong man. I tear down his strongholds. I spoil his house now in Jesus' name. And then I start commanding. I command the spirit of Hordums to go in Jesus' name. I command the spirits of lust and perversion to go in Jesus' name. I command fornication. If that sin's been committed and that doorway's open, you have a spirit of fornication. I command the spirit of fornication to go in Jesus' name and on down the list, I bind those demons and command them to go, but I first bind the strong man, then I start spoiling the house and tearing down that stronghold in that person's life. And that's how you pray. That's how you do it. You can do it for yourself. You can do it for other people, but this is how you do it. Why is this how you do it? Because Jesus said to do it this way. First bind the strong man, then you spoil his house. Don't come up with another way. People got all these words. Well, I renounce this and I renounce. Stop it. Where is that? Bind it. Do what Jesus said. Do it the way he taught. We do it with our words. We do it with speaking it. So it's not something that you, you can't take a chain and walk up and wrap a demon up. You say in the name of Jesus, I bind the strong man, the spirit of Hortons in this person, and I command it to leave now in Jesus name. This is how you deal with this stuff. Specific. You know, I've had people that were molested. I've prayed for many who were molested when they were children. And I bind, when I start through this, I say I bind the spirit of molestation and rape and violence. I bind these demons in them and I command them to go. And people get free from them. These tormenting, horrible spirits. So this is the strong man and a house. And so your house could have, your house has many rooms. That's why I got on the side, like the attic there is the spirit, the second level is the soul, and then you have the body. Demons can be in any one of these areas. There's teachings out there that actually believe in deliverance. And I say, well, a demon couldn't be in your spirit part of you. Oh, yes it can. How do I know that? Well, I know that 1 Thessalonians 5 verse 23 says this, I pray God that your whole spirit, soul, and body be served blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. You have different, your spirit, soul, and body is like this. And then we're gonna take our break. I'm only five minutes behind. But your spirit, soul, and body is like this. Your spirit is the area where your conscience is.
That's your ability to discern right and wrong. It's the area of your intuition where you perceive things in the spirit world. It's the area of your unconscious mind, your subconscious mind. It's the area where you worship. It's the area where the gift of tongues and the gifts of the spirit operate and flow from. But there are people who fool around with, say, Eastern meditation or different things like that. You can open your spirit up to a demon spirit. Now, does that mean you're totally controlled in that area? No. You're starting to defile and taint the house, that room. Your soul is your mind, will, and emotions. It is the place where you make decisions. It is your conscious mind, where you're alert and aware. Your consciousness, your personality, it's you. This is what Satan is after more than anything else. And everybody knows a demon can be in the body. The spirit of infirmity in the woman, in Luke. It was just afflicting her with arthritis, severe crippling arthritis. And Jesus cast the spirit of infirmity out of her body, and she was healed. So this is, again, what the scriptures say. So what we're gonna do, let's pray real quick. I wanna pray over this. I cannot stress to you enough though, start binding the demons that are attacking you. If you're struggling with lust, you gotta get in the fight. You gotta start binding the demons of lust that are attacking you. If you're being tempted to come into adultery, you need to start binding the spirits of adultery that are attacking you. If you feel you're getting heavy and oppressed, you bind the spirits of heaviness and sorrow and depression. Bind the demons and command them to go from you because you are being attacked from the outside, this oppression. I remember the first time I learned this, I was going through, all of a sudden, I mean, I'm on fire for Jesus, filled with the Holy Ghost, just joy leading people to the Lord on the street. And all of a sudden, this dark cloud comes on me. I'm just depressed beyond, for no reason. Nothing bad had happened. And I'm all this depression and I can't shake it. I go in and pray. I go, I read my Bible. I've put on praise in worship music and it still feel this dark, heavy. I mean, just so heavy, it felt like it was crushing my spirit. And I remember reading, one of the first things I read about this was Kenneth Hagin's little series on dealing with demons. And whether you like him or not, let me tell you, he had some good stuff. But I remember him saying, you gotta speak to him and speak to him and rebuke them and command them to go. And I remember going, what have I been doing? I mean, but I was a baby Christian. I was just learning. I remember I went to my prayer place and I did that. And it was like this huge weight lifted off of me. Everything cleared in my mind and my spirit. I was like, what? How did I not know this? How did I not know how to do this? But I specifically said, I bind the spirit of heaviness, depression, sorrow,
despair, these spirits. I bind you and come and just shut your mouth and go for me in the name of Jesus. This is how you fight. This is how you resist. Binding and loosing. These are the keys of the kingdom. You wanna walk in the kingdom of God? These are the keys. You will never let go of these keys. You will use these keys until Jesus comes and sets it up. So let's pray. Father, thank you for this session. Lord, help us become fighters, warriors, resistors, to Satan and his demonic forces on every side. No matter how they attack us, no matter how they attack our family, help us, Lord, to fight. I pray this, Lord, right now, in Jesus' name, bless your people. Jesus' name we pray, amen.
