At the appearance of the Elect One, the mountains leap like rams and the hills like lambs, closely echoing the psalm.
The earth gives back the dead entrusted to it, followed by resurrection and joy for the righteous.
The dead are raised and separated, while the faithful shine like the lights or stars of heaven.
The Son of Man or Elect One sits on a throne of glory to judge.
The chosen Son-of-Man figure judges while the earth and the realm of the dead return the dead for resurrection and judgment.
The sea, earth, and realm of the dead surrender those entrusted to them for judgment.
The language of God’s Chosen or Elect One belongs to the same Second Temple expectation represented in 1 Enoch’s chosen heavenly judge.
