we worship you lord we worship you lord we thank you for your presence again we thank you lord for your word god lord we thank you for the written word god that's exalted above everything else but lord we thank you that the holy spirit still speaks today lord you said god that your sheep would hear your voice and they would know you and follow you lord and we just thank you god and we we thank you for the gifts of the spirit flowing this morning and we just pray for more more of of you more of your gifts more of your revelation and direction lord you said the sons and daughters of god are led by the spirit of god that is what it's about let us be filled with the holy spirit and and be led by the spirit lord especially in these last days and it's in jesus name we pray amen and amen hallelujah praise god good to worship the lord praise god you know just as we were worshiping there and we have people listening and we just uh welcome those listening by our internet radio to uh fire and grace church and i'm pastor dean odle and we're just glad to have you and we're glad for everyone here and we just uh we thank you we thank the lord for his presence because he's speaking um and i don't know maybe i'm going to be shifting the message a little bit this morning because of course last week i preached on the on the supernatural ministry of jesus and how that that ministry of jesus the supernatural ministry of jesus uh continues in his church even though there's many churches and ministers and seminaries and bible schools and bible college professors that try to say that tongues have ceased and knowledge has vanished away and you know when the bible came all that was done away with and of course that's about the most foolish thing i've ever heard in my life because we went through that last week you know hebrews 13 verse 8 there when it says that jesus christ is the same yesterday today and forever he rose from the dead and he's alive and well and if he lives if he lives in us and he lives in his church then he hasn't changed and we went through those scriptures last week that what did jesus do he went about teaching the word of god he went about casting out demons he went about healing the sick and doing miracles and that the church is to continue on with that and um and and i say that because you know there's a lot of faults out there right now and you guys know that that i believe that i'm not naive a christian here i know there's a lot of false gifts of the you know that people are saying
are the gifts of the spirit and they're operating in spirits of divination kundalini spirits there's all kinds of counterfeit out there but folks i've said it before and i'm going to say it again if there's a counterfeit dollar bill that means there had to be a real dollar bill amen and i'm not going to let the devil stop me from be being hungry and thirsty for the real just because the devil slipped in some counterfeits that would be like you saying you know you've been using money your entire life and somebody you know by accident by no intent of your own you you got a counterfeit hundred dollar bill and then you got hassled a little bit by the secret service and you went through a little problem and then they figured out well it wasn't you but you know one got slipped in there and you know that'd be like you saying well since i got a counterfeit hundred dollar bill i'm never gonna use money again i'm through with money and that's not what god wants us to do he wants us to dig in his word and know the word of god and then say okay lord what is for us let us get filled with the holy spirit let's have the real gifts of the spirit let's have real healings in jesus name let's let's see people delivered from demons because guess what people still have demonic problems and they need deliverance from them and christians are supposed to set people free the church of jesus christ is supposed to be a place where they get the truth of the word of god and they get their spiritual needs met by the supernatural ministry of jesus christ that's the way it's supposed to work amen so let's let's just i want to review a little bit before we dive into the rest of this but of course what did i base this on last week and and we based it on first of all the gospel of john chapter 14 and verse 12. go ahead and turn there because this this verse needs to sink in and i'm only going to review for a minute somebody say reviewing is good amen if you don't have this verse memorized as a christian you should because to me it's one of the most awesome things that jesus ever said and i think as as the church in the still in the world that we're still trying to figure out how to walk in this okay we need to figure out how to walk in this more and more individually and corporately as the church of jesus christ um but anyway i'm going to review a little bit i i think that's a good thing all right what the verse here john 14 and verse 12 jesus said this verily verily or truly truly i say unto you he that believeth on me the works that i do shall he do also and greater works than these shall he do because i go into my father and whatsoever ye shall ask in my name that will i do that the father may be glorified in the son if you shall ask
anything in my name i will do it now of course this has to be coupled with the verses in first john 5 when he says we ask anything according to his will problem is a lot of people don't believe it's god's will to heal so they don't ask or they don't believe for it but it is god's will to heal people jesus went about doing good healing all that were oppressed of the devil jesus healed many many people he cast out many many demons out of many many people and he said that the works that he did we shall do also let's read that again let it sink in is there any um conditions on this no the only condition is he that believes on me and the word believe there is the greek word pistus apistuo which means to rely on to trust in to cling to and to be constant in that profession in that relationship with jesus christ to trust him not only for salvation but everything provided in salvation you know i don't understand how these bible school scholars and teachers and preachers can talk about the atonement for sin like they go to isaiah 53 and they talk about the atonement for sin that he was wounded for our transgressions he was bruised for our iniquities they'll talk about that part some of them a lot of them don't talk about that anymore they'll talk about the part of isaiah 53 and the atonement of jesus christ when he shed his blood they'll talk about he was bruised you know for our iniquities the chastisement of our peace was upon him but they don't want to talk about in the same verses there in in isaiah 53 5 it says very clearly and by his stripes we are healed so jesus shed his blood by taking the the whipping upon his back for our healing and people say well that's just spiritual healing well is that all that jesus did in the new testament no if that was all he did in the new testament he never healed anybody physically then we could say that but we cannot say that and listen if the if your church out there or your pastor or your bible school or your seminary if they say that jesus doesn't heal people anymore then they're saying that jesus christ has changed and that is a false doctrine it's a false teaching and as a matter of fact paul told timothy if you hear that nonsense to turn away from it and run as fast as you can all right let's turn to that let's turn to that i this was one we looked at last week but i want to look at it again and this is second timothy but isn't that amazing why you're turning that amazing she said the works that i do you shall do also and greater works than these you know just this week you know i
preached that last sunday tell this little story while you're turning to ii timothy but just just last sunday i preached the first part of this message you know the supernatural ministry of jesus and how it continues or should is supposed to continue the church today for those who will believe it and step out in it and talked about how peter stepped out on the water you know and and even though he got out on the water and sank and and messed up a little bit he cried out to jesus to save him but how i talked about i'd rather be a wet water walker than a dry boat rider amen all right so we we we learned that sometimes stepping out into this realm and trying to to step out in faith for for jesus to heal people and to set people free we're not going to do it perfect because we're not jesus okay he did it perfectly because he was god in the flesh and had the holy spirit in him without measure we're just kind of trying to limp along in this and learn and do the best we can so we're not going to do it perfect just like peter jesus was out walking on the water did it perfectly peter got out there and walked on the water for a little while just like jesus did the same work jesus was doing the same miracle but then he got his eyes off jesus a little bit started sinking and and uh got a little scared that's normal you get out here in this realm and start trying to pray for people that are sick and dying and and you know what people are doubting and people are fighting you and people are you know giving you false teaching and you know and people in you know in traditional churches are giving you grief over over stepping out into this realm and so you can get your eyes off jesus and start doubting or start fearing what people think and you start sinking in this and you can you cannot do it ever again you can step out and not do it ever again and just to give you an example i mean sunday i preach on this monday we're on the job in phoenix city where we're doing an addition on a house and the the homeowner's little girl that's about two and a half to three years old somewhere in that range burning up with a fever 104.8 i've been burning up all day they were trying to give her you know the advil the tylenol it wasn't even making a dent which i believe that that shows that there was some kind of spiritual attack going on in that situation but kevin and patrick were inside working and they knew about it i was outside working i didn't even know and so they talked to the mom about you know you need to you know you need to uh ask the pastor to come in and lay hands on this child and jesus will heal this baby and touch this baby you gotta you gotta remember this is kind of a divided house because some you know they got the grandparents there and and some of them believe and some of them don't and uh you know some of them are not living for jesus more you know so you gotta you got a little different you know thing and so she was a little hesitant the mom was just because you know she'd seen some of the counterfeits and the extreme people that are on tv and she's like i
don't want people jumping in here and you know getting weird with my you know my little girl and so but that's that's not what it was about so um anyway went in there uh of course you know i've seen enough children with high fevers to know this little child was burning up she was burned up so bad that she didn't want her mama touching her but anyway i said well did you want us to pray for your for your baby she kind of hesitated but she finally said yes so all i did was simply lay my hand on the little girl's back while she was holding her very calmly very quietly they said lord lord jesus in in jesus name i rebuked this fever i command it to go and any infection or anything any causing it i command it to go in jesus name that was it and they just bowed their heads i don't know i'm sure kevin and patrick prayed too i didn't really hear but we were very quiet about it i mean she heard me turn around and i turned around walked out not what 10 minutes later 15 minutes later that child was up running around playing like nothing was wrong with her she didn't even want to get out of the bed before and they took her temperature their temperature was gone and it never came back amen and we were there the next day and so on and so um and they were actually supposed to come to church this morning because it so touched them okay but this is what i'm talking about jesus is real these things are still for today but let's look at what peter's i mean uh paul told timothy about the last days he said there'd be an attitude against the supernatural power of jesus and the supernatural ministry of jesus in the church in the last days it'd be a bad attitude and this is this is what he said let's just read from a little bit read verse one it says this know also than the last days perilous times shall come for men shall be lovers of them old selves covetous boasters proud boasters rather proud blasphemers disobedient to parents unthankful unholy without natural affection truth breakers false accusers incontinent fierce despisers of those that are good traitors heady high-minded lovers of pleasures more than lovers of god and he talks about all these crazy sins and everybody thinks he's talking about unsaved people because then he says this they will be having a form of godliness an outward appearance of christianity but they will deny the power thereof the word deny means also in the greek it could mean to reject or refuse abnegate look it up for yourself it says that they will have a form an outward form of godliness but deny or
reject the power and that word there in the greek is dunamis which means the miraculous power of the holy spirit in the name of jesus and look what he says if he just ended there we'd be fine but now we get radical he said from such turn away oh boy from such turn away that's a command i don't see too many people do it matter of fact i don't even understand that there's been an influx of many spirit-filled tongue-talking gift believing uh christians who believe in healing believe in casting out demons who have found their ways back into these churches that that deny the power of god is still for today i don't even understand that i don't even comprehend that now don't get me wrong i know there's a lot of wacky messed up charismatic pentecostal churches that i wouldn't go to either but folks i'm not going to deny the power of god and i'm not going to sit and listen to a preacher or christians who did not i'm just not going to listen to it because it's not bible it's not good it doesn't help anybody amen and really they're hypocrites you want me to tell you why they're hypocrites because they'll stand up in the pulpit and they'll misuse first corinthians 13 to try to prove that the gifts are not for today but then they'll go to the hospital and pray for somebody come on baptist preacher what are you doing make up your mind are you going to believe in healing are you going to pretend like you believe in healing how can you say you don't believe that jesus still heals and you'll go to the hospital and pray for somebody to get better i do not understand that you cannot do that boy you want to talk about sending a confusing message to your people what are you doing and you go well you know what sometimes we just pray is it the will of god well you know what why why they don't see many people healed is because they're not in faith and we talked about that last week that how even the disciples one minute could be in faith and see great miracles and all of a sudden they they got out of faith because they didn't their prayer life got weak and they weren't fasting enough and jesus told them even though they'd been healing the sick and casting out demons they brought this other boy they couldn't do it you know the story matthew 17 and they couldn't do it they said jesus why couldn't we do this and the reason they were so shocked is because they've been doing it right they've been doing it they're like all of a sudden we can't do it and he said because of your unbelief oh you mean we can be unbelieving believers yeah yes we can you have to believe it and that means to be totally persuaded in your heart that when you pray for somebody they're going to be healed in jesus name you're stepping out there in
faith and you're not leaving it up to if it be the will of god amen you are supposed to be believing it's not up to you to decide whether something's god's will or not amen god said for us to believers to lay hands on the sick and they would recover that's what he said mark 16 right so let me just say this you're in a dead church that doesn't want to worship they don't want to believe that jesus christ is the same yesterday today and forever it's time to walk folks it's time to find some believers that are ready to step out in faith and carry on the ministry of jesus gonna teach the truth of the word of god gonna minister to people who have demonic problems and that they're gonna pray for sick people in a second listen to me especially in the days that are coming listen you're not the days that are coming if the united states just the united states economy collapses and with obamacare and all these other things trying to come in we're not going to be able to get health care what about when when it comes down to the mark of the beast and any and whoever takes the mark only those that take the mark of the beast can buy ourselves well does that mean you can participate in the health care program if you can't buy or sell or you refuse their chip in your hand or forehead no you're going to have to if you survive the war that's coming you're going to have to know how to stand there's going to be points that your kids are going to need you to lay their hands on your hands on them and heal them instead of trying to take them to the doctor because the doctor is not going to be there or you're not going to be able to see the doctor and what about the times the doctors can't do anything even now and listen i don't know about y'all but the drug commercials scare me worse than trying to believe for healing in jesus name i mean literally you know there's a thing out there for uh called embroil or something or embroil or i don't know if i'm saying it right that they use to suppress the immune system for those who have rheumatoid or psoriatic arthritis because that's coming out of an overactive immune system but if you listen to the to the side effects it says fatal events some fatal event wait a minute fatal events that means some people have died from taking this we know a man who has an incurable disease from this histoplasmosis suffered should already be dead miracle he's not dead mercy of god that he survived with this this long still in bad shape from that drug because his immune system was suppressed and he picked up that fungus what are you going to do what are you going to do when it's cancer and the doctor says there's nothing to do we pump you full of chemo chemotherapy but still no guarantee what are we going to do when we can't go
to a doctor and we fall and our arms snapped into better start believing god for miracles amen see americans we've gotten too small we don't have to we can just run to the dock and i don't have a problem with doctors i've been to the doctor i've had cast i've had surgeries i've been healed too amen i'm not against doctors there's some crazy you know pentecostal and healing people out there that you know won't go to a doctor i'm not saying that i'm just saying you know what jesus hasn't changed he just wants us to believe that amen he's the creator he made the human body he's able to fix it and if he doesn't fix it the first time you pray keep believing keep standing and pray again find somebody that might be believing it more than you and get them to lay hands on you you might get healed amen let me just read before we go any further let's read that verse i love this passage um mark chapter 16. y'all don't mind a little review do you [Music] mark 16 15-20 and like i said if you've got a bible that says it has a footnote says this shouldn't be in there i wasn't in some of the manuscripts you've got a lion messed up version of the bible we just read john 14 verse 12. jesus said he that believes on me the works that i do shall he do also in greater works than these i mean just for those listening and i mean those of you here already know this but we may have some listening that that doesn't i i'm not just talking about something that's theory in my life after almost 26 years of walking in in what i would call full gospel spirit-filled ministry as a spirit-filled christian operating in the gifts of the holy spirit i've seen jesus do these miracles the crippled walk the death here the dead rage yes i've seen that i can't even tell you the number of people i've seen delivered from demons how that number is gone uh one healing service that i was in that i didn't even know i was going to conduct a healing service in nigeria in uh 2002 i got up one morning i was preaching two or three times a day for a month when that was over i couldn't talk but one morning i got up and i went to the seminary school where i was teaching the
seminary students in the morning and then usually go preach somewhere in the afternoon and then preach somewhere at night every now and then i got the afternoons off right they work you so anyway that mor they said you know after i taught the seminary students oh by the way you're going over to a church across on the other side of town i was in abba nigeria a town of about 6 million people and so you're going to the other side of town there's a church over there and they've been fasting and praying and you're going to do a healing service okay thanks for the heads up on that right that's what it calls me ready now i was one tired fella i'd already been there quite a while several weeks and i was tired but i'm like all right let's go and so you know what i did that was one of the rare occasions that while i was there i had to have an interpreter preach for me i'd preach and then he would interpret what i was saying but at 10 o'clock on a wednesday morning in abba nigeria a church exceeded about 500 people had 700 people they were packed in that place every seat was taken they were standing outside the walls the walls were open kind of it was unreal gave my message on healing and shared testimonies of miracles i'd seen over the years when i gave the altar call and i'm preaching in a suit and it's 90 degrees and humid and no ac i give the altar call i still have pictures of this when i gave the altar call i think all 700 people came forward for healing yeah i was there a while but i laid hands on every single one of them and prayed for every single one of them and i remember that morning laying my hands and mamas with babies in their arms couldn't go to a doctor they couldn't afford a doctor if they could find one and i'm sitting there about to cry my eyeballs out because i felt as weak and helpless as a person could feel the only thing i had was i believed jesus would do it for them amen amen and one thing it was amazing in africa there's this verse and there's a verse in matthew 10 verse 40. it says they who those who receive a prophet in a in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward and because they received me the way they received me in africa they treated me like a rock star and i'm not even a famous preacher here and but they were just amazing people respectful um just humble um but they came and heard this american preacher you know i had when i was there i had i had african
men and women come up to me and say they'd never seen a white man in person think about that it was just an awesome experience but i went through that crowd praying for people and i mean i could feel the power of god sometimes and sometimes i felt as dry and dead as you could possibly feel but i remember laying hands on children that were just burning up i mean little babies just my hand felt like they almost burned my hand and so the next day you know you don't know what happens you just go through i couldn't even communicate with some of the people because this particular group didn't speak english most of them oh ebu was the language and so the next day i asked the bishop what happened you know bishop como said i was there with he said he said man he said everybody everybody got healed everybody was healed he said it was powerful and i'm like i didn't even know i didn't even know all and like i said i was weak i was tired i didn't feel like i was but i just believed it i believed god's word and you know what this verse was true right here this passage is true i don't care what seminarian tells you it's not let's read it mark 15 and he said unto them go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved but he that believeth not shall be damned and these signs shall follow them that believe in my name they shall cast out devils they shall speak with new tongues they shall take up serpents and that means take authority over demon spirits and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them and they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover this is in the red part of the bible this conflicts with nothing else that jesus said this as a matter of fact goes right along with what jesus said in john 12 i mean john 14 12 that he that believeth on me the works that i do shall he do also amen so are we going to believe god's word are we going to believe the theologians amen god's word is true and i love that scripture in numbers it says let god be true and every man a liar amen god is true amen now i want to show you something i want you to just see this is this is the heart of jesus all right we're going to look at the heart of jesus here for a second go to acts chapter 10. so we've already established that the
works that jesus did we shall do also we've already established he that can believe it and walk out in faith can lay hands on the sick and they will recover and cast out demons and i believe do any miracle that jesus did if we believe it now of course sometimes we've got to get the other folks that we're praying for to believe it too but this this morning this message is not about the issue of faith as much as it just is the heart of jesus toward people and the heart we're supposed to have so i told you where acts 10 right verse 38. look on down there acts 10 38 [Music] let me know when you get there [Music] you there yet so this is when peter went to cornelius's household he went to the gentiles many years later all right and i love this if the gifts of the holy spirit the power of god was only for the apostles i wonder why that cornelius's household the gentiles there his whole household and everybody that was in there when peter preached got baptized in the holy spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and started prophesying i don't know i just think about those kind of things i guess i'm weird right but let's read this one peter was preaching and in his message he made this statement about jesus well let's back up to verse 36 and read it he says the word which god sent unto the children of israel preaching peace by jesus christ he is lord of all that word i say you know which was published throughout all judea and began from galilee after the baptism which john preached how god anointed jesus of nazareth with the holy ghost and with power who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil for god was with him so let's just see that right there in the midst of this sermon that peter is preaching the first real sermon to the gentiles he brings up that jesus christ lord of all went about doing good healing all that were oppressed of the devil for god was with him this is part of the gospel message folks that jesus wants to save you from from sin by getting you to repent and believe that he is the messiah the lord the king of kings that his blood will wash you and cleanse you and that he rose from the dead and that if you'll confess your sins and turn away from them that he will give you the power to become a son or daughter of god you can be born again if you can ever understand repentance and faith in jesus
christ so that's his first mission is to be savior but he's also the healer he also wants to heal us spiritually emotionally mentally and physically even he is a healer he has not changed amen and we've made it clear through the scriptures not through commentaries of theologians we've made it clear through scripture that it is still the ministry of the church of christians of believers to lay hands on the sick and see them healed and recovering and to cast out demons to set the captives free that is part of it okay so we see jesus went about doing it and listen jesus healed a lot of people who didn't even choose to follow him that's his mercy isn't that amazing you know i can well i can tell you some stories about that i've seen more unsaved i've seen tremendous healings when i go and minister to unsaved people or in an unsaved household because god just wants to show them that he loves them that he's real that he's there now granted he still wants them to repent they still have to repent turn from sin and start following jesus to be saved but god sometimes will do a miracle even in a situation that we think you know you know we think it's got to be in church and they got to be a christian to be healed or for a miracle to happen and listen it's not amen matter of fact you probably will see more healings when you go out there and pray for the unsaved then you will praying for the saved the unsaved we don't have to unteach wrong religious beliefs they've been taught amen they're like wow jesus wants to heal me yeah can i pray for you i prayed for a satanist one time he got healed amen god showed him i love you i want i want to work in your life if you let me uh go to matthew chapter 9. y'all stay with me a few more minutes matthew chapter 9 to show you jesus the heart of jesus here [Music]
matthew 9 all right let's start reading oh let's see oh verse 32 just for fun and as they went out behold they brought unto him that is they brought unto jesus a dumb man possessed with the devil and when the devil was cast out the dumb spake and the multitude marveled saying it was never so seen in israel but the pharisees said he casteth out devils through the prince of the devils the religious crowd is always going to come against this all right they always got some excuse right but jesus just went on it says and jesus went about all the cities and villages teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every disease among the people why because he was moved when he saw the multitude he was moved with compassion on them because they fainted and were scattered abroad as sheep having no shepherd now i can almost hear in my spirit an objection that comes well i've prayed for people and they didn't get healed or i've prayed and prayed and prayed about a situation or about a problem that i have and i didn't get healed maybe the lord and listen closely maybe the lord's just allowing that to linger to see what kind of attitude you'll get because one thing i found out is true about god he does not work in our time amen the issue is what if i pray for somebody or what if i'm praying for myself or i get somebody to pray for me i've got a physical problem and i'm not healed yet well are you going to give up and start doubting well i guess it's just not god's will to heal me or you know maybe healing's not for today or are you going to start doubting are you going to believe you know what i believe i'm healed i believe jesus paid for it i believe it's part of the atonement i believe that believers lay hands on the sick and they recover i believe in jesus name that i will recover from this that this will leave me that this infirmity will leave me and you know what i believe you know i might have laid hands on a person before and they didn't get healed but i believe the next one i lay hands on is going to get healed they're going to receive it you know there's just things in people's life you don't have to know everything i remember i've seen people healed of cancer on their death beds in their hospital you know in the hospital dying and healed of cancer but i've also seen them die and i pray i mean there was one girl i was praying for for days and days and days fasting and praying and she had cancer she'd die and i didn't understand why and i was so confused because i said god we believed we believed we prayed we believe you know god was gracious in that situation he doesn't have to show us why but later he showed me because i happened to be riding in her car
with her brother and i happened to open the glove box of her car and i'm not going to say what i found in there but let's just put it this way she had no intentions on following jesus and i remember what the lord spoke to me and it was she was evil she was doing things that i had warned her about and warned her about and basically her death was judgment for her evil god wasn't healing her okay and i can't go into all the details but just suffice it to say i understood why some people some people there there are reasons we don't know that's not our job to know all the reasons why or to figure out anything our job is to believe the word of god and to step out there and try to minister to people and get them to believe and lay hands on the sick and cast out demons and raise the dead yes and pray for the deaf and pray for the crippled and pray for the blind and and just believe jesus to do the work through us amen step out it's another powerful tool of evangelism actually and can i say this the whole goal of all of jesus's miracles and healings and should be of the church of jesus christ today should be the same goal some people get get on healing in the supernatural and that's all they focus on there's ministries out there that's all they talk about all they focus on they talk about healing healing healing healing healing healing healing you know prophecy prophecy prophecy prophecy but they never really preached the gospel of jesus christ of repentance of holiness of obedience of walking with god of discipleship of enduring trials enduring through suffering enduring to the end they never really focus on so they they get people believing in healing all right but they never really get people to make jesus lord of their lives or and become disciples and so god doesn't whatever the message of healing or the message of divine healing or the supernatural or the gifts of the spirit to overshadow the purpose of it all and the purpose of it all is to bring people to know jesus christ as their savior and lord and that can only happen if you get people to repent of their sin amen so i think a lot of the reasons why a good part of the body of christ and especially in america and the charismatic and pentecostal realm has fallen off into deception is because they've forsaken the message of the cross of taking up your cross and following jesus of being a disciple of forsaking worldliness and lust and sin and they've they've forsaken that message and want to talk about anointing and healing and goosebumps and glory
bumps and and visiting the third heaven it will and all this foolishness that's crap in because they've forsaken the whole point of it all amen that's one thing i will say i believe in healing that jesus still heals that i'm supposed to cast demons out of those that are oppressed that i'm to believe god for great miracles but that's not the emphasis of this ministry of this church it never will be the emphasis is jesus christ and him crucified and following him and making it to heaven amen okay as long as we're clear on that and let me just show you that too i want to show you jesus never even though he healed many people and even though he did great miracles in it and he would and obviously he healed thousands and thousands of people i want to show you something in matthew 11. as we just read matthew 9 i want you to look at matthew 11 that jesus got a little angry about something a little perturbed okay and this just approved what i just got through saying about the message of repentance turning from sin living a holy christian life being obedient to god that that's the primary that's what jesus wants everything that he does whether it's whether it's prophecies or end time prophecies or the gifts of the spirit or supernatural miracles or everything he wants to bring into our lives the presence of god and and the truth of the holy spirit about repentance and obedience and walking in a holy obedient relationship with god i'm going to show you jesus talks to three cities here where he said he did most of his miracles and he was upset about something let's read it well before we read that i want you to get the context so i want to back up and look at matthew 11 let's look at verse one this is what jesus said he said it came to pass when jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples he departed dance to teach and preach in their cities now when john had heard in prison the works of christ he sent two of his disciples and he said unto him art thou he that should come or do we look for another so even john the baptist had his moment of doubt okay something about sitting in a prison cell waiting to be beheaded that might get you a little down right but this is what jesus said go tell him he answered said unto them go and show john again those things which you do see and hear the blind receive their sight and the lame walk and the lepers are cleansed and the death here and the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached unto them blessed is he whosoever shall not be offended in me
so jesus was plainly saying look i do these things i heal the sick i cleanse the leper i raise the dead the crippled walk blessed is the person who does not stumble or become offended with me over these things because look what was he saying to john why did he say blessed is he is not offended in me because here's jesus out here healing the healing the sick raising the dead cleansing the lepers giving sight to the blind all these great miracles and john the baptist is locked up in prison about to have his head cut off about to be martyred he's not getting to see any of it and what jesus is telling him don't be offended john this is your part this is your part you have to play and this is a good example here what if things aren't working out for you right now don't quit believing jesus christ is the same yesterday today and forever it doesn't matter how it's working in your life right now keep believing the truth don't be offended at jesus don't stumble that it might not be working out just the way you want it to right now he's still a healer he's still the the baptism the baptizer in the holy ghost he's still the deliverer he's still the soon-coming king he's still the one that can protect us and deliver us from evil men and he's the one that can allow us yes to even be martyred one day but i trust him no matter what amen see that's the the word of faith movement had a lot of good truth about faith and healing but they got over into that thing that where you know what if you're a believer nothing bad's supposed to happen to you you're not supposed to suffer things aren't supposed to go wrong sometimes and that's where they got off it was prosperity prosperity prosperity all the time and i'm sorry it wasn't prosperity for john the baptist right then at that time right so that's the context jesus is not speaking against miracles he says go tell john what you see in here don't be offended in me but then he has to rebuke these cities over something let's listen close verse 20 skip on down to verse 20. it says then began he to upgrade i love the nice words in the king james i believe he began to rebuke and basically let's put it in modern american english for a second go off on the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done why did he go off in this against the cities where most of his works were done it says here real plainly because they repented not oh boy see miracles are wonderful they're no guarantee though anybody's going to repent even if they see one judas saw everything
though he got into sin and never came back amen he saw every miracle jesus did can you imagine that miracles are no guarantee seeing miracles and healings are no guarantee you're getting into heaven and jesus looks at these cities and these are the cities that said where he did most of his mighty work so most of his great miracles most of his healings were in these three cities and listen what he says to them he says and he says he's angry about this because he did these great mighty works but they didn't repent of their sin they didn't turn to him they didn't make him lord they didn't follow him with all their heart and he says woe unto thee corazon woe unto thee beth say to you for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done entirely in sidon they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes but i say unto you it shall be more tolerable for tyrion sidon at the day of judgment than for you and thou capernaum now listen capernaum was the city where when jesus left nazareth he had a house and he lived in capernaum so jesus lived and everybody knew him and then he did his great mighty works and miracles in capernaum and look what he says he says you capernaum which are exalted unto heaven shall be brought down to hell for if the mighty works had been done in thee had been done in sodom which were done in thee it would have remained unto this day but i say unto you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of sodom in the day of judgment than for you so what is jesus plainly saying that y'all didn't get it the goal of my supernatural ministry in the church is to show you i love you to show you i care about you to show you i care about every part of your being but my goal is to get you to repent and turn from your sins and make jesus lord of your lives that's the goal of it all because that's the way you make it to heaven and you're not cast down to hell amen boy there's a lot of charismatic pentecostals that have their priorities completely messed up out there amen that's why i believe the brownsville revival went for so many years because their focus was on the message of the gospel of jesus christ and calling sinners both unsaved and backslidden christians to repentance and to a to a new and holy walk an obedient walk with jesus christ and god so blessed that with the with the power of god that yeah there were many people came there for healing and got healed but that was never the focus matter of fact you rarely heard about the healings that happened at brownsville because that was never their focus i mean they had tremendous miracles
steve hill was sharing one the other other day on the sid roth program tremendous miracles but that that wasn't the focus part of it but not the focus let's find out you with me all right i just want to share a couple more verses go to acts chapter 3 this will be our last one acts 3. i'll take that back we got to look at two i'm sorry look at luke 5 and then we're going to go to acts 3. luke 5 because you need to see this because they go together luke 5 i promise not much commentary on this and we'll go to acts three all right by luke 5. verse 17. are you there yet i'm going to show you something it says and it came to pass on a certain day as he was teaching jesus he was teaching that there were pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by which will come out of every town of galilee in judea and jerusalem now listen to this and the power of the lord was present to heal them oh boy the power of the lord was present to heal them now i'm not going to go and read jesus heals a a man with palsy here but i wanted you to see that said the power of the lord was present to heal god wants us to understand that it takes the power of his presence to see healing and so how do we get the power of his presence go to acts 3. this right here could be a sermon in itself how do we get the power of his presence acts three here's the main way here's the first and foremost primary why i'm gonna give you one romans 1 16 preach the gospel don't be ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of god isn't that good romans 1 16 so preach the gospel the true gospel not the watered down weak version but the gospel it demands repentance and i'm going to show you that here's what he says peter's preaching they just healed the lame man at the gate tremendous miracle man had never walked he was over 40 years old he never walked he heals them and then peter starts preaching again and he tells them
he's addressing the pharisees and the in the sadducees and he's telling them how it was through the name of jesus verse 16 through the name of jesus that's made this man strong but look at verse 19 he this is the message he cries out he says repent ye therefore that means to feel the guilt of your sin i'm going to give you a breakdown of the definition feel the guilt of your sin your doubt your unbelief whatever your religious pride your anger your selfishness your jealousy your lust whatever it is feel the guilt of your sin change the way you think about it and then change the way you live he says repent ye therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the lord the times of refreshing literally the word refreshing here could also be translated times of revival but it but but revival means god's spirit coming back in you and giving you new life new breath new strength new vitality he says if we'll repent repentance is the key to getting the presence of god amen and it's the presence of god that will bring forth an atmosphere that creates an atmosphere for the gifts of the holy spirit to flow and creates an atmosphere where people can be healed and miracles can happen real ones not the counterfeit not the faith the real stuff amen so listen our church i'm going to tell you our church i believe is in a good place to move in to seeing more healings and more miracles as long as we keep the main thing the main thing amen repentance true repentance confessing our sins acknowledging them yes feeling the guilt for them but then asking god's forgiveness turning away from them letting them be blotted out so that times of refreshing times of revival times of new power times of new vitality times of new strength in the holy ghost can come from the presence of the lord and and and hear me on this i believe we are there listen i know i preach about end times a lot and there's some dark days coming but this preacher also believes these scriptures that say that in those times the people that do know their god will be strong and do exploits i do believe isaiah 60 when it says darkness will cover the earth and gross darkness the people of the lord says but i will arise upon you and my glory will be seen upon you
i do believe when the enemy comes in like a flood the scripture says the spirit of the lord will lift up a standard against him so as he comes in with as a flood with his antichrist and his persecution and everything that he's going to do i believe there's a people that are supposed to rise up and do great and mighty things for god at that time amen and script being weak doubting fearful christians no we're to rise up preach the truth boldly proclaim jesus christ as the only way to heaven the only way to be cleansed of sin the only true healer the only true deliverer the only true messiah and god will back us up amen god is about to back up his people who stand up to goliath amen so there's a good side to all this darkness that's coming i believe we're about to move into it too a greater light a greater anointing a greater glory not to run around being goofy and stupid and unbiblical and getting off into demonic manifestations but to walk in the truth of the word of god and in the true power of jesus folks dig in get in the word and believe the word step out of your boat your comfort zone and start praying for the sick start binding demons and casting them off of people when you pray for them start encouraging people to believe that jesus christ is the same yesterday today and forever and all the religious pharisees and sadducees out there that want to say it's of the devil well let them die let them keep their cancer while they mock us speaking in tongues let them keep their dead churches i don't want to i don't want them don't want to be in them don't have time to fool with them amen got too many people that want to hear the truth too many people that want a touch from god too many people that need healing that need deliverance i don't have time to fool with the pharisees and sadducees that want to argue one scripture passage that oh tons of cease no it hasn't you big dummy use some exit jesus for once in your life on everything use some hermeneutics correctly not just on what you like use it on everything in the bible yeah i know those big fancy seminary terms yes i do know the difference between hermeneutics and homiletics yes i do amen all right
we need to pray thank you jesus jesus i thank you that you are the same yesterday today and forever i thank you for every miracle i've seen but lord more than all of the great miracles and the great healings that i've seen the great deliverances people set free from terrible strongholds in their past god i am more grateful for every every soul that i see that really repents that's really born again that really sees and comes to salvation and walks it out a lot of people lord have come to altars but they're no more disciples than anybody else and the unsaved out there lord there's so many you're looking for people that are going to repent and be disciples and then step out on the water and walk with you out there in the supernatural realm in the real thing lord i pray over everyone in this room i pray over everyone listening by internet i pray over everyone that will listen to this by podcast even if you're listening in saudi arabia and pakistan and turkey and all over the world i i believe jesus christ is the same he's the one true god christians don't serve three gods our god is one god who manifests himself in three different ways father son and holy spirit but he is one god jesus christ is the fullness of the godhead bodily and he is the creator and the healer and the deliverer and the only one that can heal your depression your wounded emotions those of you that have been sexually abused or molested those that have been addicted to drugs those who have been addicted to antidepressants or alcohol because of depression jesus is the one that can truly heal you and set you free those things aren't going to fix people now are so depressed they run to sex they run into drugs they run to alcohol but lord you're the one that wants to heal the brokenhearted set the captives free heal broken bodies heal broken minds heal broken emotions you're the healer lord i pray heal people right now listen to this heal them right now they're sick in their bodies let healing power flow let the presence of the lord we have felt in this place today go forth and heal them people in this room right now just lift up your hand if you need healing we're just going to pray that the presence of the lord that today's your day let healing flow in this place that healing flow through the internet right now let healing flow through this audio message let healing flow touch those bodies from head to toe i bind satan i bind the spirits of infirmity i bind the spirits of sickness and disease i rebuke you and i command
you to go in jesus name from everyone listening and everyone here we rebuke sickness and disease and command it to go in jesus name and god we ask for your healing anointing and healing virtue to flow that virtue that came through the blood of jesus christ that was shed by that whipping let that healing flow in jesus name we pray amen
