hallelujah lord we worship you we worship you jesus we praise your mighty name lord you are king of kings and lord of lords and lord you are worthy of worship you are the one who who came down here took the the form of man lord you lived a sinless life you willingly lay down your life on the cross to shed your blood to wash our sins away to purchase eternal salvation for us lord you came and then you rose from the dead to prove that you are the author of life you are the resurrection and the life and there is no other way to eternal life in heaven but through jesus through faith through repentance through intimacy and lord we are grateful today that we can know you we can know you for real not just in our minds not just as a creed or a belief but we can know you intimately in our spirit in reality and i thank you for that lord and it's in jesus name we pray amen and amen hallelujah hallelujah that is not really helping good morning good morning we want to welcome those listening by blog talk radio and through shoutcast radio to fire and grace church i'm pastor dean odell and again we welcome you we're going to continue this morning we're going to continue on the the series on the soulish christian this will be part three and we may have a part four now i said we we we might only have this might be the last one but there's just so much to this and there's so much going on um but we're going to just reiterate a little bit of what we covered last week because i want these things to sink down in your hearts and in your minds i really want everyone to learn this and be able to remember it and be able to you know chew on it and get it down in your spirit and be able to work it out in your life to live it to apply it and so that's why i feel the the necessity to slow down a little bit and to keep even overlapping and reminding you of certain things but we're talking about the soulless christian and the difference between being led by the holy spirit communicating with your spirit and your spirit man being the part of you that you live your
christian life through rather than your soul your mind will and emotions now we talked about this last week of course first thessalonians chapter 5 verse 23 is kind of our foundational verse that spells out that each human being has a spirit and a soul and a body and i'm going to give you again the different parts now we all know what the body is made up of the body is our physical being five senses touch taste smell hearing seeing we have five senses and of course the bible refers to our flesh as the part of us where paul said in our flesh dwells no good thing our flesh nature has been corrupted by the sin of adam and eve passed down to us and that's why paul could say in the flesh dwell with no good thing because it will constantly desire to sin and to do the things of the evil nature okay the soul is the mind the will and the emotions your consciousness it is what makes you you i mean everybody has a body everybody has a spirit but the soul is the real you that's something you need to understand i mean when we when we die if we uh if we die before jesus comes the body's just gonna go back to dust it's gonna go back to what it was made out of the spirit again like i talked to you last week the spirit is the very breath of god it is the life of god it's what he breathed in us and that will return to him but the soul the soul is who you are the soul is the consciousness it's what makes uh dean dean what's what makes bill bill it's what makes patrick patrick it's it's just that's who you really are um it's not this physical body okay um but the soul being the mind the will and the emotions is still part of the natural man okay now we know that when jesus comes jesus says at the resurrection or when he comes that the body he said this in first thessalonians 4 we back up a little bit in first thessalonians 4 when he talked about what people call the rapture or the resurrection of the righteous he said the dead in christ will rise first and then we which are alive and remain will be called up to meet the lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the lord now paul said it this way in first corinthians 15 51 through about 53 there when he said in the moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet what we will be changed
and this corruption or this corruptible mortal body will put on incorruption all right meaning that the moment jesus comes whether we're dead in christ or whether we're still alive there's going to be a transformation of the body from a mortal body to an immortal body it'll still be a physical body remember when jesus rose from the dead he told them he said a spirit does not have flesh and bone like me he physically bodily rose from the dead and the bible is very clear first john that when we see him we shall be like him meaning the moment that he appears the moment he descends from heaven with the shout with the voice of the archangel with the trumpet of god the moment the resurrection takes place or the rapture whatever you want to call it but the moment that happens there's going to be a transformation of this body the flesh will no longer be like it is now it will be transformed into into a supernatural resurrected body but that's at the end that's at the resurrection that's at the second coming of jesus now right now the bible says for born again christians and we'll look at this and titus in a minute that if you've been born again through believing that jesus is god in the flesh that he died on the cross for your sins that he rose from the dead the third day and you believe the word of god and you've con you've confessed you're a sinner and you've repented and doing your your best to turn from sin and walk with him the bible says you will have a supernatural experience where your spirit is regenerated that's that's a new testament word that means made new and that's when we get the the second corinthians 5 17 verse he said if any man be in christ he is a new creature or a new creation all things are passed away and behold all things become new now let me tell you that becoming new is a process and what starts when you're saved when you're born again truly with true faith and true repentance in the lord jesus christ washed in his blood and walking with him when you're truly born again the process of all things becoming new happens the first thing that happens is your spirit man is completely regenerated made alive by the life of god there is a resurrection that happens in your spirit man that's been alienated and separated from the greek word the zoe life of god okay now i just told you that the body's not going to be made new until jesus returns so when is the soul made new ah the soul the mind your mind your will ability to make decisions your emotions your
consciousness your personality is in the process of being renewed by the word of god and it is in this process where you will either through walking this out correctly your soul will be saved or it is through this process that your soul will be lost oh come on now don't shout me down when i'm preaching good i'm gonna give you some verses all right let's look at it the soul we're gonna keep establishing this everybody go let's go to romans chapter 12 first romans 12. first one you know and as i've said throughout this series at different points one of the first things we learn as a christian once we are saved and in the process of hearing the gospel and understanding the gospel the first process that we understand is that we've got to bring the flesh under control we can't let the flesh run wild and that's what the bible calls crucifying the flesh mortifying the deeds of the body as paul put it he said i bring my body under subjection i make it obey me i don't just let it do whatever it wants so we you know as christian a lot of christians here folks a lot of christians haven't even learned that lesson and that's really the first lesson that's that is the lesson that is what repentance means is that you choose to turn from sin and put to death through your faith in jesus and through the word of god you choose to cooperate with the holy spirit and put to death the deeds of the body like fornication premarital sex lust of the eyes adultery um drunkenness drug use you you the body wants to do those things right you put to death those things by saying lord forgive me i repent i don't want those things anymore give me grace give me power to walk that out and you believe in the cross what jesus did and you say and literally you come to a point where you really believe that i am crucified with christ the old man the old flesh nature you have to reckon yourselves dead to sin what does reckon mean you account it as done then you can to the point that you believe it you can say i am crucified with christ as paul said nevertheless i live i'm still alive
but the life that i now live i live by the faith of the son of god i'm not living anymore through my faith in myself i'm not living anymore in my own strength or my own desires i'm living because now i believe that jesus when he died on the cross that not only did he die there he died there to to crucify my old man the old dean was with jesus on the cross he was paying for my sins my flesh was crucified there with him when i believe that and i reckon myself dead to that that's when i choose i'm not going to live as a dead man walking i'm not going to live according to my old man anymore and until christians and and anybody that wants to be saved and go to heaven until you understand that you've got to identify yourself with the crucifixion and the resurrection of jesus to the point that you hate that old man and that you're going to walk a new life you're not saved you never can be saved i know people that say they want the presence of god and they want to feel god's glory and presence in their life but they don't want to crucify the flesh and the old man they don't want to identify with jesus christ they want to talk to buddha or meditate or chant or whatever else they want to do they want to try to be spiritual but they don't want to go through the cross of jesus christ they don't want to go through the crucifixion of the flesh they want to have spirituality without crucifixion it doesn't exist okay and a christianity that tells you you're forgiven no matter what you do or how you live that tells you that you don't have to do anything is a lie and it's always been a lie right so i told you to turn that now so we we understand that the old man was crucified with jesus and that jesus wants us to let that man stay dead the old man stay dead right how many of you know that baptism is supposed to be it's a sign that the old man is buried under the water and when you come up you're coming up to the newness of life you're coming up a new creation right old things are passed away but now here's the thing we have to put the body over here and make it obey the soul is this other part of us that we have to make obey and we have to renew all right and remember we got into a little bit we're going to get into a little bit more today
but if uh hebrews 4 12 for the word of god is quick and powerful sharper than any two-edged sword dividing asunder between the soul and the spirit and the joints and the marrow and as a discerner of the thoughts and intent of the heart what we're doing in this study is dividing between the soul and spirit what is soul what is spirit okay very important that we do this as christians all right and we'll define it again for you before we read this verse remember the soul is your consciousness your mind your will your emotions the spirit of man is different from the holy spirit that's the spirit of god but you have a spirit the spirit of man has a conscience the ability to discern right and wrong supernaturally intuition the ability to perceive sense feel experience the spirit realm and the area of worship or communion with god where jesus said they that worship god must worship him in spirit smallest and in truth all right so the spirit is where we hear god's voice it's where we discern whether something's the holy spirit or demon spirit it's where we see visions it's where dreams come from when the gifts of the holy spirit move and god gives us a word of knowledge or a word of prophecy or a tongue or interpretation and the gifts of the spirit this is where god is working he's working that in the spirit of a man or woman he's working that in our spirit and then our spirit then communicates that to our soul and that's the way it's supposed to work okay but most christians suppress ignore the spirit and the holy spirit and basically try to live the christian life out of their own intellect the knowledge they have of religious things or the bible or jesus they live the life out of just simple head knowledge intellect emotions and they make all the choices about what they do instead of hearing and surrendering to the will of god because you will either do your own will or you will do god's will right so now having said all that let's read romans chapter 12 verse 1 and maybe it'll make a little more sense to you look what it says romans 12 i beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of god that you present your bodies a living sacrifice
see what are we talking about what's the body supposed to do what's the sacrifice happens is it dies right it's given up it's sacrificed so you can live this life we don't live the christian life indulging the flesh it's just not the way it's supposed to be right so he says i beseech you therefore brother and by the mercies of god that you present your bodies a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to god which is your reasonable service so god is saying very clearly to get your flesh under control to not live according to the dictates of your flesh is reasonable service it's not unreasonable it's not legalistic it's not law it's not you know undermining grace god says here present your body a living sacrifice guess what if you want to live in adultery you want to live in fornication pre-marital sex you want to live in drunkenness and drug use you want to indulge the flesh and live lifestyles as a homosexual or whatever a witch a sorcerer you want to live and indulge that life you're not presenting your body to god as a living sacrifice and you're not saved and you're not headed to heaven and if you think you are you're deceived by your own mind and by the devil and by doctrines of demons and theologians who really don't know this book or don't believe it okay then he says in verse 2 [Music] be not conformed to this world what does that mean do not allow this world system the way they think what they believe is right and wrong what they think is acceptable what they think you should be and what you should say and what you should do don't let yourself be pressed and conformed to this world system of sin and compromise and and ideas of morality that are against god's word don't be conformed to this world don't be like the world so he says it again don't be like the unsaved the world don't have their same ideas that's why it's such an amazing thing when we're starting to see christians and i'm gonna show you this morning we're starting to see christian pastors and christian bands who've been christian in the christian ministry for years and years and years are changing their views on homosexuality and accepting it now all right and saying it's okay to be gay it's okay for gay marriage it's okay for
these things jars of clay lead singer just came out we we remember not too long ago another christian singer jennifer uh knapp um we a vineyard pastor just came out world vision just came out and of course they caught so much flack they retracted it but the problem is if you're going to say that you're already we your your heart mind is screwed up but don't be conformed to this world i don't care that if the whole world wants to say that it's okay for men to have sex with men and women to have sex with women if they want to say it's okay that's the world system god never said it was okay it's an abomination it's it's god even calls it just vile affections okay he said it's even against nature right so i don't care how many people want to be conformed how many christians want to be conformed to this world god said you will conform to the world or you will conform to him and his word it's really that simple let's keep reading but he says how you do it and be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed uh-oh got to stop right there transformed the greek word metamorpho you know what this word is a picture of it is a picture of the um caterpillar going into its cocoon and coming out a little while later completely transformed into this beautiful butterfly before it had to inch along and crawl along the ground and was always in danger of being bird food but all of a sudden it comes out this beautiful creature with wings that can fly on the currents of the air it's completely transformed it doesn't even any part of it even look like it used to look and he says don't be conformed to this world but be metamorphized right be completely transformed how by the renewing of your mind or your soul and the word renewing there is an interesting word kevin and patrick and i can appreciate it is the word renovate and it literally means something that's old messed up torn up trashed ruined it means you know if if this house needed to be renovated it was
messed up we would have to come in here and rip everything out rip out all the old and how many times have we done this in a house rip out everything except the frame almost and put back all new that's renovate he said rip out all your old thinking all your old ideas all your old beliefs all of your emotionally led part of you that's always been ruled by how you feel emotionally rip all that out but how do you put the new back in well here's why here's why it's such christians are so robbing themselves when they don't spend time in the word of god and in prayer because those are the two ways the only two ways that you put the new back in it's the only way you figure out what is old and wrong and what new you need to put back see remember he says be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind your soul why that you may be able to prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of god oh come on now right so how do we do how do we put back new ideas new thinking new stuff how do we let our soul our mind be renewed well let's look at let's go first before we go to uh james let's go look at ephesians real quick ephesians chapter four i almost want to dance a jig this morning because folks this is as practical living out christianity as it gets today all right everybody in ephesians 4 now listen to this now that you understand what the soul and the spirit is the difference between the two when you read the scriptures when you really get this down in you and you read the scriptures you'll see okay he's talking about the soul here he's talking about the spirit here talking about the flesh the body here but look at this ephesians 4 verse 17. now he's speaking to christians he says this i say therefore and testify in the lord that she
henceforth from now on what he said you walk not as other gentiles walk oh hold on a second let me moonwalk you don't walk as other gentiles walk you don't you're not conformed to the world you're not like the world he says you don't walk as other gentiles walk in what the vanity of their mind do you know what the word vanity means there it means in the useless nonsense that's in their brain you don't walk like that anymore they say homosexuality is okay you don't walk that way anymore they say oh it's okay for boyfriends and girlfriends and engaged couples to shack up and have sex before they get married no we don't live that way we don't live like the gentile the unsaved is what this is reversed we don't live by those who are outside of relationship with god we don't walk like they walk we don't think like they think we don't act like they act we're supposed to be transforming look he keeps on in the vanity of their minds or we could say in their souls in their mind will and emotions their ideas this is what god's saying the vanity of their mind he's saying their ideas their beliefs that are against god that are immoral that are lustful that are evil he's saying all of that is useless oh boy come on now look where to get let's go therefore he says this i say therefore and testify in the lord that she henceforth walk not at as other gentiles walk in the vanity of their mind having their understanding darkened y'all know what that is it doesn't just mean their mental understanding it means their spirit man is darkened they live in darkness they can't comprehend spiritual things and it says being alienated from the life of god the very power and intimacy of god through the ignorance that is in them and this ignorance doesn't mean they just don't know this ignorance is deeper that they have not encountered or perceived the presence and truth of god in jesus christ because and the reason they haven't perceived fully perceived and
encountered and felt the life of god is because of the blindness of their heart oh boy here we go it's going to get even worse he said who being past feeling what is he talking about there their conscience their spirit is past feeling meaning that their conscience no longer really alerts them to right and wrong because they've gone against it so much that their conscience has become hardened and seared that's their human spirit see here's the danger if you sin and keep on sinning if you can keep indulging the lust of the flesh and the desires of the wicked mind the wicked soul part of you if you keep indulging and practicing unrighteousness practicing wickedness your spirit all that is left in you will become hard callous and unfeeling and we say why do people get to the point that they can take a knife out and kill their whole family including their children how could someone be so so void of love and affection how could they be so void of any morality it's because if you keep going against your conscience it will finally be past feeling and you will be given over to evil to work all manner of evil without even feeling bad about it and he says who being past feeling have given themselves over to lasciviousness which is just a complete licentious indulging lifestyle do whatever i want whenever i want however i want with whomever i want sound like the world who being past feeling have given themselves over to lasciviousness to work all uncleanness with greediness meaning they can't get enough of uncleanness and foulness and see you know what the rolling stones were right you keep going down that road all you're going to be saying is i can't get no satisfaction no matter how much you've sinned no matter how much you indulge in the flesh you never get satisfaction you never find it and that's why they got to have more and more more that's why a little bit of drugs a little bit of alcohol leads to more drugs and more alcohol that's why a little bit of sexual immorality or leaves more sexual immorality it's always going to be more more more because it doesn't satisfy the soul it's killing the soul it's in its deafening the spirit and it's cutting you off from the life of god and so what you're experiencing if you cut yourself off from the life of god and you're killing your soul and you're killing your your spirit you're beginning to
experience death you're dying and that's why so many people are in depression and despair because they're walking in spiritual death and spiritual death is misery and here's something that's even more scary jude the apostle jude the half-brother of jesus said this in his book he said these people there are people who are twice dead plucked up by the roots oh what's that mean got news for you there's only one way to be twice dead and still be walking around you talk about physical death because he was talking about people that were still living who were deceived and false teachers and false prophets and this is what he said twice did well the bible says this before we are saved and born again in jesus that we are dead in trespasses and sins that's what ephesians 2 says we are dead spiritually dead in trespasses and sins but then the bible says when you have faith in jesus when you believe that jesus christ is lord god almighty died on the cross for your sin and you realize i'm a sinner and i'm headed to hell and i need a savior i need my sins washed away i need to get right with god and the bible says you come and you have faith and you pray that prayer and you're baptized and you you're washed and your sins away and you're born again your dead spirit comes alive again but what most people don't believe because of false teachers that teach what you're saying you're always saying no matter how you live what they don't understand is that the only way to be twice dead plucked up by the roots is that you have been dead in trespasses and sins born again made alive by god and then you go back to living in trespasses and sins until you die again spiritually and then at the judgment or when you die you're not you're pumped up by the roots what roots you had in the ground of the kingdom of god is ripped up because you chose to go back practicing iniquity and sin and lust and you've died you begin to die in the spirit begin to wither and die and the soul begins to wither and die the wages of sin is death and it starts out remember when god said to adam and eve if you eat of this tree you will die well the first aspect of that death was not physical they didn't die physically their spirit man was cut off from the life of god so they began to die spiritually and then their soul began to be affected and they passed it on to us oh boy let's keep going my pages keep flipping who being past feeling have given themselves over to lasciviousness to work all uncleanness with greediness now look what he says in
verse 20 but you have not so learned christ if so be that you have heard him and have been taught by him as the truth is in jesus that you put off concerning the former conversation or behavior the old man which is corrupt according to deceitful lust here we go look at verse 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind now literally what this means you be renewed through i love this through your spirit to your soul your mind i look these words up be renewed through your spirit in your mind oh boy how do we do that well let's read a little bit of this further be renewed you got to start renewing your mind and that you put on the new man which after god is created in righteousness and true holiness and a lot of people think well well it's all by grace i don't have to do anything but surf no no keanu you're wrong because he goes on to say you put on the new man and he says he gets real practical real practical about repentance he says wherefore putting away lying speak every man the truth with his neighbor huh marvel that if you're a liar quit lying hmm interesting verse 26 be angry and sin not not a sin to get angry but most of time when we get angry we sin right verse 27 neither give place to the devil oh here's here's a hard one to figure out let him that stole steal no more but rather let him labor get a job and work with his hands which is good that means he may have to give them to him that needeth that that has need oh here's another one here's one they don't like you know listen to joseph prince and some of these false teachers out here what i'm reading straight from the bible to you they say is legalism they're devils devil preachers verse 29 he says let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth if you're a foul mouth cursing four-letter word sexual lust immoral talking fool means you quit doing that
right huh was the madagascar penguin saying riddle me that huh it's not hard is it is this mysterious or something if you're a liar quit lying you're a thief quit stealing if you're a foul-mouthed foul spoken individual you quit doing it oh my the preacher then went to medlin right and let's keep going let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth but that which is good to the use of edifying that it may minister grace into the hears and grieve not the holy spirit of god whereby ye are sealed into the day of redemption let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and evil speaking be put away from you with all malice and be kind one to another tenderhearted forgiving one another even as god for christ's sake has forgiven you and you know what i just got to keep reading this because it goes into five let's read chapter five be therefore followers of god is dear children and walk in love as christ also has loved us and have given himself an offering and a sacrifice to god for a sweet smelling savor then he says this but fornication that's premarital sex and all sexual immorality outside of marriage between a man and a woman all uncleanness immorality filthiness or covetousness let it not be once named among you as becometh saints not once am i reading the bible here neither filthiness nor foolish talking nor jesting or foul this is foul joking which are not convenient but rather the giving of thanks for this you know that no whoremonger what's a whoremonger somebody chases horse and is constantly after a and we know what a is right and then she know that no whoremonger nor unclean person nor covetous man who is an idolater hath any inheritance in the kingdom of christ and of god none meaning if you live this way if you indulge these things if you're still living according to the world's ways and systems don't let any man deceive you and come along and tell you you're okay because you have zero not any nothing not a zip inheritance in the kingdom of god you will not go to heaven when you die somebody says preaching this bible right here right
now let's get back to our subject here so he said be renewed right in the spirit of your mind so let's go to the book of james go to james chapter one oh i'm having a good time today james chapter one i'm looking from the water could you grab me a water brother thank you everybody james chapter 1 yet ain't it a shame we got to study the bible in church what's that mean pastor d it means you should be studying this yourself right but it's okay to study the bible church i'm just messing with you all right here we go james chapter one everybody there right oh this is so much of this is so good but we're going to start down you can read the whole chapter later but let's start reading at verse 19. wherefore my beloved brethren let every man be swift to hear so to speak i'd save a lot of people from sin right there and slow to wrath thank you for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of god wherefore lay apart or lay away from you all filthiness and superfluity and that is a fancy word for meaning super abundance of naughtiness look at this and receive with meekness or humility the engrafted word which is able to save your souls but be doers of the word and not heroes only deceiving your own selves so here's where we start to see how do you renew your mind it says receive with humility the engrafted or in the greek the implanted word of god hear what i'm about to tell you the word of god to be saved and notice he says receive with meekness the engrafted word let me let the word of god be implanted in your spirit so that it will save your soul you cannot be saved you cannot have a renewed soul unless you receive the word of god and
i'm talking about the written word of god and the prophetic word of god the sword of the spirit which is the word of god is a short two-edged sword there is the word of god that is written in the bible and then there is the other edge the word that god speaks to you and speaks to you whether it be directly to you or through you by his holy spirit you hear what i'm saying so many people reject what the word of god says about something or they choose not to obey what the word of god says about something and immediately they move into deception everybody say this with me my soul is not yet saved i must renew it by receiving the word of god oh notice he says let's read this again wherefore lay apart turn away from all filthiness and super abundance of naughtiness and receive with meekness the engrafted word which is able to save your soul oh boy listen on the subject of homosexuality god's word will never change i love how the one of the re the there's a vineyard pastor up in michigan who just said that jesus nudged him to change his view on homosexuality after you know counseling and and hearing the stories of people who have children that are homosexuals folks people have children that are drug addicts and fornicators and adulterers and murderers and gang members and does that mean we just say everything's okay why then do we all of a sudden want to say homosexuality is okay we might as well say pedophilia is okay and child molestation is okay and right and you know shooting your neighbor in the head right where does it stop but this pastor said jesus nudged him i got a word for him the apostle paul was very clear in romans 1
about this subject as a matter of fact let's just read something in romans 1. i'm going to tell you something about these christians that are now accepting homosexuality jars of gay now they call that somebody tweeted that that wasn't my original there that was on twitter they are now jars of gay all right everybody turn to romans chapter one and remember the bible is clear all scripture is given by inspiration of god and is profitable for doctrine for reproof for correction for instruction in righteousness but here's what's amazing about the writings of the apostle paul even the apostle peter in in second peter chapter three said the writings of paul were scriptures meaning peter acknowledged that paul's writings were divinely inspired god's instruction god's revelation now we have people out here in the world system and even christians now are saying that god didn't say anything about homosexuality in the new testament i'm saying what kind of crack rock are they smoking have they not read romans chapter one i mean it doesn't even use the term homosexual it just describes the acts so you don't miss it so in case they change words and phrases we still understand what it is look what he said romans chapter 1 we're going to start reading verse 18. it says for the wrath of god is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness because that which may be known of god is manifest in them for god has shown it to them now what god's talking about here is is that god said in he says it in romans 2 that god's written his law in the heart of every man and romans 3 says that at the judgment seat man will be silent he will not be able to speak because he will be without excuse because god has made what is right and wrong he's put it in our hearts all everyone saved and unsaved the law of god is written in your hearts you know what is right and wrong and then he says verse 20 for the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made even his eternal power in godhead so that they are without excuse because that when they knew god okay now hold on a second who are the folks who know god

out of you you got to get the carnal soulish mindset out of you there are so many people who are christians they've been saved but but through difficulties through persecution through offense through all kind of different problems they are really longing to go back to egypt carnally minded you watch tv all the time you don't read your bible you don't pray carnally minded you're constantly lusting with the eyes carnally minded you hear what i'm saying the soul is being dominated by something friends are more important to you than being a friend of god carnally minded what people think is more important to you than obeying and believing and speaking the scriptures and what you're worried about persecution or rejection you're carnally minded you're after the things of the soul and listen let me tell you something one of the things about the soulish christian is whether they ever say it everything is about them even doing something in church for them is to be seen or to make them feel good about themselves so much of what is even done in church it's a little religious drug addict fix so you can say oh i gave my tithes or oh i sang a good song in the choir today or oh i ushered today or oh i taught sunday school today or oh i kept the children so i put me a check in the good box for god but truth be told you'd rather be playing golf or you'd rather be watching football or you'd rather be um on the playboy channel and that's really what your mind is on and that's what your mind is after you're carnally minded that's why it doesn't take me long to know if you're if if you're walking with god or you're lukewarm see hear what i'm saying to you the only way you can defeat your flesh and your carnal mind from destroying you and keeping you away from god is you have to put the word of god in there and you have to receive with meekness god's truth god's written word god's word he speaks logos and rhema the two edges of the sword what god has said in the bible and what

mothers oh god would have stood like behind a tree and heard that conversation 11 years old 12 years old and that was in the 1970s where are we today there are kids regularly watching porn on their phones now that are in junior high we didn't have that back then thank god we were bad enough so parents don't think they don't know about they know they know more than you think they know right i think one of our problems is because we hadn't talked about these things in church explicitly enough and there's more i would say if they weren't in here i get even more explicit about some things but i just i fear for our our not now it's not even the american culture anymore it's the american church and now they're okay with it all they've come up with theological lies and doctrines and ideas and it's all dominated by the carnal mind and they and they and they use the word grace to excuse it all it funny that the apostle jude warned us that there would be men creep in to the body of christ who would turn the grace of god into lasciviousness or a license to do whatever you want oh they can say that what they always say preachers can say oh that we don't mean that but when you tell a person they're saying no matter how they live that's exactly what you're telling them that's why these preachers are saying now you'll be able to take the mark of the beast and still go to heaven john macarthur brandon house jimmy young said on international i mean international national radio program that you can take the mark of the beast and still go to heaven now think about that revelation 13 and 14 says it ain't gonna happen if you take the mark of the beast there is no forgiveness you will be eternally damned the smoke of your torment and hell will go up forever and
ever you see the difference one is out of their own intellect out of their own emotions because they their their pride tells them they've got a theology that they've taught all these years and guess what i always knew this listen over 20 years ago i said the once saved always saved doctrine will eventually be used to justify taking the mark of the beast and that christians will take the mark of the beast i said that 25 years ago and here we have nationally internationally known ministries like john mcarthur and jimmy d young who are known all over the world who have television and radio shows that go to millions upon millions of people saying you can take the mark of the beast if you're a christian you can take the mark of the beast and you're eternally secure you will go to heaven when you die you see the difference what happens you got a theology a doctrine of men you've got emotionally charged because oh no a christian can't go to hell so you've got this emotionally demonically inspired soulless christianity but the sword of the spirit which is the word of god revelation 13 and 14 comes in and divides between what is soul and spirit and you will pick sides john mcarthur jimmy young joel osteen joseph prince pastor in michigan jars of gay lead singer their soul was christians and they're headed to hell and they're going to the sad thing is they're going to change the minds of a lot of christians who are on the fence and they're going to lead them to hell like the pied piper and there's blood going to be on all kind of hands judgment day is going to be a rude rude awakening oh i was a christian singer lord i loved the homosexuals i told them they were good they were good with god they were okay i loved i told them it was grace man and god's going to say depart from me you cursed it in everlasting fire it's not love to lead people from truth it's not love to lead people away from the word of god that will endure forever jesus made it very clear he said if you are ashamed of me and my words the day of judgment i will be ashamed of you
you cannot separate christianity from the bible the moment you do you have a cult you have a false religion the moment you try to separate jesus from the bible or christianity from the bible the moment the bible says we go this way and you say no i'm going to go this way and still be a christian you're a soulish christian you're led by your own intellect your own imaginations your own emotions and you're headed to hell and you're going to take people with you you always take people with you by the way you either take them with you to heaven or you take them with you to hell but you're going to take people with you let's pray father in heaven i ask you lord to let this word be implanted in everybody's heart let it be engrafted let it be implanted and i pray that it is received with humility and meekness so that it is able to save souls lord i pray in the name of jesus christ lord holy spirit breathe life breathe conviction let go forth and draw people to the truth of the word father i pray today that people will receive the engrafted word of the gospel and the written scriptures that they'll receive the engrafted word which is able to save their souls from the lies and the doctrines of men and the doctrines of demons lord i pray in the name of jesus that many homosexuals will come to know jesus will come out of that lie and that deception and out of all the justifications and all the stupid theological argument arguments of soulish men and women lord i pray in the name of jesus that people will come out of sexual immorality and drunkenness and drug use and they'll come to the to the cross of jesus and and let their sins be washed away and that they will turn and repent and crucify the deeds of the body and begin to walk anew and newness of life father i pray for true salvation to come in the lives of people who are listening to this today here and on the radio and people who will listen to the recorded messages father touch life god all the way to africa and australia and europe and all over the place the truth of the word of god the final judgment i'm praying that souls will be saved praying that lukewarm christians will come home the prodigals will leave the pig pen and come home god i thank you that you're merciful and while we're still breathing you will give us chance after chance after chance lord i pray for people jesus name amen
