how to be sensitive to the holy spirit how to strengthen our spirit and to walk the christian life through the spirit and not the soul or the body that we may have intimacy with you that may we may have truly a spiritual life father we love you today we praise you today while i'm praying over everybody here today everybody listening through internet radio today blog talk or shout cast i just pray that everybody today god that you would give them ears to hear and hearts to understand god what's being said what's being taught from the word today i pray god that you give each one each of us lord the spirit of wisdom and revelation and the knowledge of you that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened so that we would know the hope of your calling and what you want in our lives lord i pray this today in jesus name amen and amen praise you lord you may be seated welcome those of you listening my internet today's fire and grace church we're going to revisit something that we looked at in february i think it was february january of 2013 over the next two weeks we're going to take it a little deeper some of you will remember that i taught a message or preached a word whatever you want to say but i taught on the soulish christian and even though many of you heard that and you think you got it and you think you understood it we're going to revisit this and we're going to revisit it in a lot more depth in the next two weeks um but we have to kind of refresh but today i'm going to try to kind of focus in on the difference between having revelation versus having information but before i do that let me just revisit some of this because um i know that a lot of you though you may have heard the message you probably don't remember much of it i'm never going to assume that people get truth and really assimilate it after hearing it just one time but if you're taking notes you want to turn in your bibles we're going to start in first thessalonians 5 verse 23 [Music] and just to lay a quick foundation this is a review this message is on line it's on itunes
the soulish christian so you can always go back and listen to this and get the basic uh foundation of this message but we we basically need to delve deeper into the difference between living the christian life out of your soul versus living the christian life out of your spirit there is a huge difference massive difference between living the christian life out of your spirit man versus living it out of your soul now of course a lot of people in the in christian a lot of people in the world think that the spirit and the soul are the same thing they really do you'll hear people use the term almost interchangeably they think spirit and soul is the same thing but god's word bears it out that there is a difference now let me just say very clearly well let's just read first thessalonians 5 23 says this it says in the very god of peace sanctify you wholly or completely and i pray god your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our lord jesus christ so here is a prayer inspired by the holy spirit through the apostle paul god breathed word of the living god as he's praying what the holy spirit wants him to pray and he says i pray god will sanctify that means to cleanse to purify to set apart your whole spirit which means your spirit has parts your whole soul and your whole body will be preserved blameless unto the coming of our lord jesus christ so god is is revealing to us that the human being that each human being is made of three parts of three primary parts yet one person we have a spirit we have a soul and we have a body we are three in one in that interesting because god is three in one and we were created in the image of god so just like god is he made his children he made us like him and this is the way i like to reveal it if you want to understand the trinity a little better the oneness of god yet how um there is three parts you just look at yourself you have a spirit
you have a soul and you have a body now let me define those real quick your spirit is the part of you that actually has a form like a body paul said that your spirit has a form like a body it has eyes it has ears it has a mouth has a nose has legs and and arms literally if my spirit stepped out to the side of me and you could see my spirit man you would see an outline or a form of me you would see through me but you would see me okay the soul is different the soul is your consciousness the soul is your intellect your mind your will your emotions okay the spirit man contains your conscience your intuition and the place of deep worship and communion with god so i'm gonna go back through this and of course it's obvious what the body is everybody knows what the body is our physical body the five senses now it's very important to understand the difference because god wants the christian to live the christian life out of their spirit man primarily and not out of their soul now it's very important you understand this i'm going to say this again so you'll understand the difference between the two the spirit man the spirit part of you is the part of you when you're born again when you become a christian is the part that god regenerates it is the part of you that is resurrected from the dead it is the part of you that is made alive to god it is the part of you that the holy ghost comes in and makes into a new creature i mean all of us know that our mind doesn't instantly change our soul we all know that the body doesn't change we know that day is coming at the at the resurrection and the coming of jesus so what happens what's this supernatural born-again experience about well that's when you believe the gospel and you you believe what jesus did for you on the cross and and you believe he rose from the dead and you turn from your sin and you have a revelation by the holy spirit you're convinced in your spirit and god comes into you he breathes into you the breath of life and your spirit that was dead to god and alienated from the life of god has the zoe the greek word zoe is the word for life of god god breathes back into you because you were dead in trespasses and sins it doesn't just mean physical death remember you're walking around but before you became a christian the bible says you were dead
in trespasses and sins alienated from the life of god the book of ephesians said enemies in your minds in your soul by wicked works all right that's why the unbeliever is is viewed in the scripture as the enemy of god because their mind their soul their intellect their mind emotions is against the things of god and only desires to fulfill the lust and the evil desires of the body and the spirit man in you though the spirit man is in you as a christian i mean before you're a christian you have a spirit and and it is real or you would be dead because the body without the spirit is dead you have a spirit but it is dead to the presence of god to the life of god it is separate from god okay so when you believe in jesus and you have a true born-again experience and the holy spirit comes in you your spirit is changed it is made alive the bible calls it being regenerated born again it is a supernatural experience literally your spirit is reconnected with the creator the way it was supposed to be and the way it was for adam and eve in the garden of eden your spirit is reconnected now when god does this in a christian we're still we may be born again we may be spiritually alive our spirit may be regenerated but it doesn't mean that we're strong spiritually it doesn't mean that we're mature spiritually and it doesn't mean that we yet know how to live the life of a christian through our spirit okay and that's where while we we have the term babes you know the bible uses the term babes in christ and we have young men and children terms for spiritual growth and then we have fathers or mature believers now i don't want to get too far into back into this i guess this morning but what i talked about in the message the soul is christian is how instead of living in our spirit now our conscience let's look at our spirit real quick our spirit contains our conscience our conscience is the supernatural ability that god has given us to discern right and wrong that's where we get from romans 2 that god has written his law in the heart of every man matter of fact let's look at that verse let's just break down what this is real
quick let's look at romans 2 14 15. so you can see the parts of your of your you can understand your your spirit man all right first of all contains your conscience how do we know this this verse romans 2 14 and 15 says this for when the gentiles which have not the law do by nature the things contained in the law these having not the law of the word of god are a law unto themselves which show the work of the law written in their hearts which is their spirits their conscience also bearing witness and their thoughts the meanwhile accusing or else excusing one another so the first part of your spirit man is your conscience now what's interesting is your conscience still works before you get saved everybody knows that because you knew instinctively and that's what it's talking about the gentiles who don't even know the word of god don't even know anything about god it says is revealed that god's law is written in their heart and tells you where in their spirit their heart or their and and that is their conscience the ability to know that's why tribes and you can find tribes that have never seen civilized the civilized world they've never seen a book never heard of the bible and they will have laws about adultery and murder and stealing because god's law instinctively we know what is right and wrong that's why all sinners are without excuse that's why the bible says on the day of judgment that no one will open their mouth and make excuses to the lord because he wrote his law in every heart all right the second part of your spirit man is the intuition the intuition is our ability to perceive sense and even see things in the spirit realm this is where we recognize angels demons the holy spirit of god visions dreams and even future things that god just gives us intuitive knowledge about we see this in the situation with paul when he discerned the woman who was speaking the correct words but really had a spirit of divination in acts 16 and we also see it when he was boarding the ship in acts 27 we see this perception look what it says this is acts 27 9 and 10. you don't have to turn there but he was they were putting him on a ship and this is what he said he said now when much time was spent and when sailing was now dangerous because the fast was now already passed
paul admonished them and said unto them sirs i perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage not only of the lady of the ship but also of our lives so in paul's spirit he had no outward knowledge nothing he could look at with his body or his soul his mind his intellect that said oh i i you know i know what's going to happen but the holy spirit moved in his spirit and he perceived he sensed he discerned what was going to happen okay and of course it did come to pass right and there's many examples of this in the word now the other part of the human spirit that's important for us to understand is the area of worship and this is what god is really after with us but how do we know the area of worship well everybody turn to john 4 verses 23 through 24. it's paramount here to the discussion see a truly spiritual man a truly spiritual woman will live their life primarily out of the their human spirit working in coordination with the holy spirit okay just remember that let's look at this here's the here's the third area of the human spirit right here where jesus was talking about but the hour cometh john 4 23 but the hour cometh and now is when the true worshipers shall worship the father in spirit smallest in spirit and in truth for the father seek as such to worship him god is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth so god is looking for us to worship in spirit and worship is not just about singing songs it's not just about bowing i said this the other day when i was teaching this to the to the group out of australia and africa is that in worship will our body be involved yes your body can raise hands and sing and bow and all that's good the soul can think about god and choose to think about god that is good too but true worship that god is looking for is when you move from just what your body is doing or what your mind is doing and you truly move into this place of deep communion with god through your spirit okay and that's what god was looking for and also he he made sure that he communicated to us because there are many people who
attempt to worship god even spiritually speaking buddhists try to worship god hindus try to worship god as they understand but the bottom line is they're not worshipping god in truth and jesus christ is the way the truth and the life and if you don't go through him you never find god all right you understand all right so you see the areas of the spirit you understand what i'm saying this is why paul talked about in first corinthians 14 he said when i pray in an unknown tongue or when i speak in an unknown tongue he said these words he said my spirit prayeth but my understanding is unfruitful my mind my soul doesn't know what's going on he's showing you that you can do something in the spirit that's completely separate from the soul now the soul i'm going to say again the soul is your mind your conscious mind your intellect your will where you choose to you make decisions and it is your emotions okay now listen to me your life as a christian is either going to be dominated by your own mind your own will your emotions how you feel about something emotionally or you will be dominated by your spirit as letting the holy spirit speak to you guide you direct you and teach you now truly most christians in this world most people who call themselves christians have no concept of walking in the spirit and and serving the lord from their spirit it's all in their head it's all in their emotions it's all in their own intellect it's all governed by that so many decisions in the body of christ are made and i'm talking about by christians are made not because the spirit of god communicated with your spirit is because you had a strong feeling about something you had an emotion and you had your own reasoning trying to figure it out and then you decided on based on that but that is not how a christian is supposed to live their life a christian is supposed to wait upon god be in god's presence be in prayer be in praying in the spirit be in fasting so that the spirit of god can whisper in his still small voice to your spirit so you will know what the will of god is for you in any given situation and what you should do i'm telling you even pentecostal and charismatic churches who say they are spirit filled still 99 of what goes on in the church and
decisions made between husbands and wives and what church we're going to go to and what we're going to give or not give and what we're going to to do ministry wise is all decided in the soulless realm very little of what we do is actually the holy ghost in our spirit i promise you next week you don't want to miss because you're going to get you you'll get your feelings hurt real bad see the soul is between the flesh and the spirit now as a christian if your spirit's been regenerated and made alive to god and your body paul said that in your flesh dwells no good thing and that all it wants to do is sin and wickedness guess who's caught in the middle being pulled by both side the soul and let me just say something to you you need to hear what i'm saying because god's dealing with me about this the christian who begins to drift from spending time and in the enough time in prayer in fasting in the word in quietness in time with god to quiet the soul and truly hear from god the christian who is continually neglecting prayer neglecting time meditating in the bible and reading the bible this christian may look on the outside like they're living the christian life they may sound spiritual talk spiritual they may go to church they may serve they may work they may witness they might preach they might teach but the bottom line is they're serving god out of their soul and that person is going to wear out that person is going to be up and down up one day down the next that this is why i don't feel like going to church today that's a soulish christian you understand or you know you got god's spoken to you you're supposed to teach a bible study or you're supposed to go witness to this person but you wake up and you've and and you don't feel like it or you're a little depressed or you're a little discouraged or whatever and you say oh you know i just don't feel like i'm not going to do it today well what's wrong in you is your body and your soul not the holy spirit right all right now we're going to delve into this
more next week about how do you know certain things i you know [Music] a lot of let me just say this a lot of ministry a lot of teaching and preaching and witnessing and street evangelism and a lot of things that are done in the ministry are really done out of the soul because it's about satisfying self [Music] a lot of what's done in the church god never said told anybody to do they just decided this is what we're going to do and can i just say when we decide what we're going to sacrifice what we're going to give to god we become cain and not able cain had god god had revealed by his word and by his voice that what had to happen as a sacrifice or service to him was a lamb had to be killed blood had to be spilled cain decided in his mind yeah i hear that god i i hear that word god i hear your word but i want to do this for you i want to dig in the earth and plant a garden and and grow these fruits and vegetables and that's what i want to offer to you and god looked at that as evil wickedness even though cain in his heart fully believed that he was doing a good thing he was trying to worship god he was trying to seek god he was looking toward god this is the problem y'all and frankly i'm just going to be honest many of you sitting in this room right now and listen to me you choose what you do and don't do in the kingdom of god you claim sometimes god told you nine times out of ten i bet he can tell you squat because if you don't pray and you don't fast and you don't wait and you don't listen it's you not him and a lot of what goes on in the church is we plan to do something i want to do this or i want to do that or i want to do this and then we start doing it and we start struggling and what we're doing is asking god to bless our plans instead of finding out his plan and then we get mad when he doesn't bless our plans and he's sitting up there going i never told you do that in the first place let me explain something else to you too
probably one of the biggest hindrances within the church world and this is what we're going to get into today one of the biggest hindrances in your christian walk in your christian life is having knowledge and not revelation oh see we live in the information age now you can google anything yahoo search right we got a bunch of people who think they know a bunch of stuff you can go to website after website and i've said this before but there is a massive difference between having information even biblical information and having supernatural revelation imparted to you of that information by the holy ghost and here's the thing i'm going to tell you right now a lot of you in this church you've heard a lot of good preaching from me from kevin from paul from billy from nancy and other people you've heard a lot of good information a lot of good biblical teaching a lot of sound teaching a lot of sound doctrine a lot of things about living the christian life and being spiritual and being and all these things you have a lot of information but i'm going to tell you you have a symbol full of revelation how do i know that let me just say this you can be moved by temptation and by struggles and by persecution you can be moved away from information but nothing can move you from revelation i'm going to explain that a little bit let's go to this passage let's go to matthew chapter 16. and i guarantee you this too a lot of people automatically already think they know what revelation is oh oh i never saw that before i got that no you know [Music] can i just say that revelation is not you figuring out something by thinking hard see much of our bible study listen to me you guys much of our bible study much of what goes on in our bible schools and seminaries much of what we do is simply an exercise of intellect even with the word of god instead of it being something that you pray and ask god to reveal and impart to you by the holy ghost so that it becomes part of you it
becomes real it becomes unveiled uncovered it becomes an experience with god not just information you've heard about god i i can tell you i can watch you i can find out i just watch you for a little while and i know what is revelation and i know what is just information to you and can i say this having spirit even having genuine spiritual experiences does not make you spiritual yet and what i'm talking about when i say spiritual i'm talking about spiritually mature christian who lives their life out of their spirit not out of their soul or body baby christians have spiritual experiences i was a baby christian when i had an open vision of jesus standing at the right hand of the glory and i saw the holy spirit descend and hover over him and the glory of god was so powerful i thought jesus was coming at that moment that was a spiritual experience that was my spirit man seeing into the spirit realm that was a powerful encounter with god that was spiritual it did not make me a mature christian that takes years and i still got a long way to go but see this is something you're going to have to in your mind first of all the first the first thing an addict must do is admit they're an addict and i'm just going to say your soul addicts flesh addicts you love your soul you love your emotions you love your own intellect you love your own ideas and your own thoughts you actually in your brain think you're pretty awesome sometimes and then of course we know we love our bodies because we sure pay for them we wash them almost every day especially in america and powder them up and perfume them up and right we do all this stuff for our body we do all this stuff for our soul you know we like things that entertain our minds and our you know right but really the spirit man is what's neglected he's hidden away he's like pushed in the back room no the soul is more fun i like feeling excited i like new stuff
but the spirit let's read something i'm going to show you i'll show you this let me grab my i didn't bring them in did i uh pointless to bring them huh all right sorry matthew 16. let's read verse 13. and when jesus came into the coast of caesarea philippi he asked his disciples saying whom do men say that i the son of man am and they said some say that thou art john the baptist and some elijah and others jeremiah one of the prophets and he saith in them but whom say ye that i am and simon peter answered and said thou art the christ the son of the living god and jesus answered and said unto him blessed art thou simon barjona for flesh and blood did not reveal this to you but my father which is in heaven now let's just stop right there for a second now you have to understand that as they were walking this walk with jesus jesus had told them that he was the messiah john 4 he plainly said it right they heard john the baptist remember the disciples especially peter and andrew and james and john were disciples of john the baptist and were there the day that jesus stepped up and they heard john the baptist saying one is coming after me who's mightier than me whose shoes i'm not even worthy to unloose and then the day jesus steps forward he says behold the lamb of god that takes away the sin of the world so they knew by john the baptist preaching that the messiah was about to appear and they believed it in their heart because the anointing and glory of god was on john and they repented of their sins they accepted the message of john they repented of their sins they were baptized in the river jordan and when jesus appeared they were able to believe and to recognize that this is the man this is the one that john the baptist is talking about and they begin following him this is to us what i would say is the beginning of a christian walk it's when you begin to receive the message you repent of your sin you're baptized and you begin to get recognized jesus is the lamb of god he's the one who died on the cross for my sin he rose from the dead he is the one who washes sin away he is the way of salvation i'm going to begin to follow him okay and jesus began to do miracles and it says in john chapter 2 when jesus did his first miracle at galilee that jesus when it says he manifested his glory to his disciples by turning the water into line they saw the miracle [Music] and it said they believed now this is where it's going to get real
interesting here can i just tell you that believing is pretty much an act of the soul the intellect your mind is convinced of something because you see it you hear it okay but i want to tell you right now believing the gospel believing the word of god is where you start if you don't go from information believing just believing information to having revelation knowledge of that you will fall away or at best you will stay a baby christian an immature christian an emotionally led christian a christian when somebody comes in with doubts and questions and and fears and all these things you waver back and forth you're like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed driven about by every wind of doctrine because you've believed information you've believed the gospel so i'm going to show you we'll come back to matthew in a second i want to show you someone who believed the gospel but didn't have revelation of it and because of that they ended up falling away and they began to became one of the greatest enemies of the church of the early church turn to acts chapter 8. oh don't shout me down hey i hadn't quite got this pentecostal church to be pentecostal yet we will one day we'll get there one day we got too many bad old baptists and methodists we got a long way to go i love my baptists and methodists don't get me wrong listen us charismatic pentecostals we got as many problems as you do so don't don't think i'm being mean where'd i tell you the turn good job let me turn there acts 8. [Music] okay this is when the persecution began and persecution was psalm we're going to go to verse 4. therefore they that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word then philip went down to the city of samaria and preached christ unto them and the people with one accord gave heed into the things which philip spake hearing and seeing the miracles which he did so people started paying attention to the gospel of that philip was preaching because they saw and heard the miracles that he did this is all taking place
with the body's five senses and with the soul the intellect and the mind the mind will and emotions right so they begin to pay attention that's a good place to start nothing wrong with that god gets our attention either through the information of the gospel the message the word of god begins to get our attention we see a miracle or we see god move and do something and we go wow god is real you know god's touching me or god's doing something in that person's life that's amazing you know what i'm saying that's good nothing wrong with that god works with our body and he works with our soul too i'm not saying that but there's a problem is that's as deep as it goes okay let's keep reading we'll back up and read he says he went down to samaria and preached christ unto them so he's preaching jesus christ the gospel and the people with one accord gave heed in those things which philip spake hearing and seeing the miracles which he did for unclean spirits crying with loud voice came out of many that were possessed with them and many taken with palsies and that were lame were healed and there was great joy in that city so boom the gospel is being preached people are receiving the information they are seeing and hearing the miracle power of god that jesus is is driving out demons healing the sick and because of what they're hearing and seeing there's joy in that city still let me let me just tell you joy is in the emotions it's still in the soulish realm okay now let's keep reading but there was a certain man called simon which before time in the same city used sorcery and which the people of samaria giving out that himself was some great one to whom they all gave heed from the least to the greatest saying this man is the great power of god now so we have this man who was in samaria before philip came who was a sorcerer a witch a magician but he was so powerful in his demonic manifestations that the people believed that this man must be the power of god again you see these people in samaria are being led by what just by what they see and by what they hear and one minute they're swayed toward this man is a man of god next minute they're swayed or this man is a man of god right but then simon himself is blown away by what he sees and here's philip do right he can't do this so let's keep reading verse 13 then simon himself believed also and when he was baptized he continued with philip and wondered in amazement beholding the miracles and signs which
were done oh boy let's stop right there for a second the word believed here is the greek word pistus that means he had faith in the christ that philip was preaching he had faith in the messiah he believed it he exercised saving faith in the lord and was even baptized in water to publicly demonstrate i have accepted the lord jesus christ as my savior wow we would all dance a jig and go the town which the town warlock the town sorcerer the demon possessed demon manifesting false miracle dude just got saved we'd have him on tvn and cbn and given his testimony all over the land this has happened by the way in modern times but we have a problem because simon's depth of faith has only been to the level of information that he's heard and the miracles that he has seen okay now let's keep reading we find out that oh he's still got a big heart problem and a big sin problem and this would define most christians today they believe they have faith in the gospel in the lord jesus and we'll put them up preaching and teaching just about anywhere but the problem is is they're about as deep as a puddle on the asphalt i've watched this this is why the bible says don't put novices or ones newly come to the faith in positions of leadership because we don't yet know when that information becomes revelation and then turns into spiritual maturity over time oh not pleasant in it we want we want instant grits americans want microwave christianity right we want it all now right the scariest thing god can do is give you great miracles in the beginning of your walk because then you think you're somebody all right i know this i was a young believer at one point who saw the dead raised in the crippled walk and the death here you start thinking
that you're all that listen seeing miracles even doing miracles in jesus name even operating in the gifts of the holy spirit do it doesn't even mean that you even understand yet what it means to be a spiritually mature christian it doesn't mean that you have any depth any real discernment any real abilities or anything oh boy all right let's keep reading about simon this new believing christian all right we know the church of christ would say he was saved because he got baptized right but if you don't like this i'm sorry a lot of people would say oh simon was never saved well the bible says differently if he exercised believing faith in the lord jesus and what philip was preaching enough to be publicly baptized listen to me the bible says he believed he had saving faith because that's the definition of the word so i don't care what anybody else says simon got saved right party time all right let's let's keep reading here where are we 14. now when the apostles which were at jerusalem heard that samaria had received the word of god they sent unto them peter and john who when they were come down prayed for them that they might receive the holy ghost for as yet he was followed upon none of them only they were baptized in the name of the lord jesus so again here we got the picture of a second that getting saved doesn't mean you're baptizing the holy spirit it's a second experience all right it also shows that god will use men in authority to lead you into the baptism holy spirit why couldn't philip do it don't know the apostles needed to come down and do that but anyway we'll talk about that later but it says then lay day their hands on them and they received the holy ghost and we know they spoke in tongues doesn't say it here but we know they did because that's how they always knew and obviously something happened because simon saw and it says when simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles hands the holy ghost was given he offered them money saying give me also this power that on whomsoever i lay hands he may receive the holy ghost now here's the thing he was wanting something good he wanted to lay hands on people to receive the holy spirit but let me explain to you what was going on here this is a man who had been operating in demonic power now he wants the power of god but it's still all about bringing attention to himself the man lived in his soul the soul wants vain glory the son wants the
glory of god the soul wants to be admired and praised and and and looked up to and that's what this man wanted so the desire in his soul was what was evil wanting people to be filled with the holy spirit it's not evil but what revealed was he what he didn't understand you got to grow up you you don't get saved and become an apostle overnight you get what i'm saying here and so peter being full of the holy ghost being discerning out of his spirit saw right through the soulish christianity of simon saw right through it let's keep reading where were we 21. so peter well let's back up verse 19 saying give me simon said give me this power then on whomsoever i lay hands he may receive the holy ghost but peter said unto him your money perish with thee because you have thought that the gift of god may be purchased with money thou has neither part nor lot in this matter for thy heart is not right in the sight of god repent therefore of this wickedness and pray god if perhaps the thought your soul what's going on in your mind one of the emotions your thoughts of your heart may be forgiven thee for i perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity wait a minute now simon just believed in jesus and was baptized simon just had saving faith well we'd say oh no no no no he's he's under grace he's forgiven he's good what are you doing condemning him like that peter oh no no no no this is what the church is full of we're full assignments full of simon believers they've believed the gospel they've been baptized in water they've even seen some miracles they and then they begin to get a job i want to do that i want to preach i want to teach i want to lay hands on people i want to operate the gifts i want that but they want to do it immediately they want to do it out of their soul they want to do it because they want attention and the motives are completely wrong and off they haven't had time to grow and have their soul brought under control of the holy spirit to have their flesh brought under control of the holy spirit they want everything now well i know plenty of christians like this
a lot of them will get in church and they'll give a lot of money and they'll cozy up to the pastor they'll do all these things because they're going to teach a sunday school class or they want to do this they want to do that i've watched it for years or like a lot of them do sit in the pew or the chair or the congregation and go man i could preach a better sermon than that they should turn me loose mm-hmm let me tell you something until that soulish sin of vain of desiring attention and glory is killed in you i'll never be a great preacher [Music] paul was one of the most brilliant most educated men in religion that the world ever produced the apostle paul and yet god took him out into the wilderness into the deserts of arabia for three years and when he came back now remember he got saved before this and he shared his testimony but then god took him away and when he came back you know what he said in the book of galatians he said the gospel that i preach was not taught to me or given to me i didn't receive it from men but i received it by revelation of the holy ghost and that's why he could say i count all the things that i had before all of my education all of my pedigree all of everything that i had i count that doe because i now i knew religion i knew information i knew the scriptures but i didn't know the god of the scriptures i didn't have revelation of the scriptures i knew the scriptures of the coming messiah but i couldn't even recognize him or his people [Music] i was killing christians and putting them in prison and i said i knew the scriptures and i knew who the messiah would be and i was willing the messiah to come and i didn't even know the messiah had come you see the difference listen we see it in the scriptures we see the people who walk with jesus we see the people who jesus preached to and talked to and they and we saw people healed and delivered from demons and all those things and they followed him multitudes followed him and the pharisees and the scribes and the chief priests they saw the miracles they heard the testimonies they heard his teaching too but there were a few people in that
crowd like nicodemus who began to get revelation of who he was oh the history of simon the sorcerer we find out by looking back at the early church fathers we find out that simon whose full name was simon magus that he became the father of a christian cult agnostic of gnosticism he became one of the greatest false prophets and false teachers of that time but he started out as a believer but because it never went any deeper than his soul and he never got revelation of who jesus is in the scriptures and and how to live how to die to the flesh listen paul after he became a christian could have been the christian superstar right he would have been the top on the list every church every little house church in israel and sumerian everybody would have wanted him on the on the calendar to come share his testimony of how he used to kill christians and beat christians and put christians in prison now he's saved i mean he could have been the hottest thing in christianity what did god do three years in the desert three years dying to all that dying to being proud of his education proud of his knowledge dying to all of his soulish desires to be somebody remember paul was up and coming he was gonna be paul would have probably end up being the chief priest he was so zealous he was so zealous for the religion of his fathers that i mean the bible he was zealous for the bible old covenant right paul was going to be somebody he was going to be rich he obviously either his family or somebody was paying for his education and his because he also was a roman citizen and it said at a great price was this purchased for him for a jew to be able to purchase roman citizenship was very expensive was up and coming man he was going to be a mover and shaker in the realm of religion of the day but when he had a revelation of jesus christ on the road to damascus religion died
his knowledge he had had to be all shaken up and reshifted into the truth he had to be taught by the holy spirit he had to learn to live his christianity out of his spirit and not out of his flesh and not out of his his emotions or his intellect if anybody could have lived the christian life out of intellect it would have been paul right but he's the one that said i serve god with my spirit not my soul now let me break this down a little bit let's look at revelation everybody go to first corinthians chapter two oh my prayers that you get a revelation you may sit here and go well pastor dean i i know i know jesus i know i've been born again i know that's good maybe you have a revelation there a true revelation but there's so many other things you need god to reveal to you by the spirit listen i'm going to be very very honest with you you know i have many people who hate my guts okay even pastors in town who don't like me okay that's fine and danny but i also have many people oh brother oh you're a great preacher you you know but i want to say this to you and this is the honest truth i get it from both sides bad and the good the bad and the ugly right but i can say this i am not a good preacher because i'm full of information i do have a lot of information what makes a good preacher what makes an effective witness as a christian is not what you know it's is that true revelation in your soul it has it become not just knowledge not just intellectual knowledge that you can spit back out and recite but has is it real to you is it experienced in your spirit do you have experience with the lord the reason i can preach and teach certain things even now without a lot of study is because it's not just information to me i have walked it out with god it is a real experience it is a
real revelation there is depth to it so i can preach it and preaching and teaching has got to be done from your spirit from your heart more than from your mind that's why most of the time 99 percent of the time i do not have notes because i know that god is wanting me to communicate a certain thing and i trust that the holy spirit will move on my spirit and that even when i get to speaking god will begin to communicate and work through me to speak to you about something that i couldn't plan i couldn't figure it out in my soul so what i'm saying is even true preaching and teaching has to be spiritual and not just intellectual not just soulish soulish sermons just intellectual sermons just information that is not backed by revelation and led by the holy spirit and empowered by the holy spirit will bring death even if it's the truth that's why the churches today are full of dead preachers dead people the services are dead there's no life because the holy spirit is not imparting life and revelation and understanding to what's being preached that's why most people cannot remember not even part of a sermon when they leave church there's a there's supposed to be a spiritual exchange going on can i just tell you that that is why i believe that our church is a little different as a matter of fact i love to give you information you need information information is important right but do you know that when i'm giving you a sermon where i have a lot of power points and i have a lot of information do you know that i don't really like that a whole lot i do it at times i know god wants me to do it because he wants you to have can i just say listen i'm not saying information is bad it's not i'm not saying intellect is bad i'm not saying having emotions is bad god made us with all of those things he just doesn't want us to be led and dominated by the body or the soul and until you know the difference between the two you will be dominated by your soul until you grow up and quit being lazy in certain spiritual areas see what you don't realize is listen listen to me the reason i harp on reading your bible meditating in the word praying praying in tongues praying in the spirit is because i know that's the only way fasting i know this is the only way that
you can strengthen your spirit man and truly be sensitive to what the holy spirit is saying if you neglect that part of your life the spiritual discipline that makes your spirit man strong you will be led by your own ideas and your own emotions and you will be one screwed up christian you'll end up doing the wrong things making the wrong decisions going to the wrong place you just be screwed up and if you're happy with what you know oh see i know a lot of our church oh we look you love the church because pastor dean gives you truth that's good pastor dean gives you a lot of true and good and needful information right that's good but i don't want you here just because you get good information or you get good teaching or preaching or sound doctrine i want you here because you've been in the presence of god you've been in prayer and you know by the holy spirit speaking to your spirit that this is your church home otherwise you will be swayed and moved to and fro anyway right [Music] see none of that matters to me why i'm church having a big church having a lot of people have a lot i don't really care because that's just more headaches for me i want people to grow up and if i can get our church if i can get our church to to be spiritual to truly be mature christians sensitive to the holy spirit and i'm just going to say this i just got to say this real strong i'm going to be very frank with you most of you think that you're led by the holy spirit when it's your soul and i'm just telling you every now and then every now and then he does pop you and override something and get you to be like but for the most part i'm just going to be straight up honest with you most of you are led by your own emotions your own ideas and your own knowledge and your information and how you feel that day or how you feel that week or how you feel that month or what pastor dean dieter didn't do or what somebody said it hurt your feet you see what i'm saying instead of the spiritual man the spiritual woman shuts out all that gets in the word of god and hears from god and what you hear from god what you have spiritual spirit to spirit your spirit
to god's spirit what you have spiritual revelation of you can't be moved from no one once you have and that's what i'm saying you people think well oh i understand something now i've read the word and i saw something i never saw but that's a revelation no it's not a revelation from god is such a powerful explosion of understanding that not only does he give you understanding but he get he he imprints it on your being it becomes part of you no one can shake you from that that's why no one listen people think it's not about doctrines y'all but there's certain truths that not only have i studied but i have experienced i have walked out and seen in people's lives for so many years you cannot move me with a theological intellectual argument you can argue until you turn blue and die if i know it by the word and i know it by the holy spirit through revelation and nobody can move me from it the devil could put on the biggest dog and pony show that there is and i'm gonna laugh see that's why when the alien ships show up and the big manifestations of demons and aliens and all this stuff when when independence day comes down upon us i ain't going to be moved by what i see by what i hear intellectual arguments demonic miracles and false signs and one i'm not going to be moved by that why as paul said about jesus i know in whom i have believed i know him his truth is not just in my head it's been revealed and imprinted and imparted in my spirit it listen if your christianity is just in your head and your intellect you will fall away like simon the sorcerer when things get hard your emotions will override what you believe remember if it's just a mental belief your your mind is in the same place with your emotions in the soul and the soul can be very evil and what happens is if it's just a mental belief up here the emotions can come in when people are dying or being killed or when your eyes and ears see something that contradicts what you believe in your head what will happen is your emotions will override those beliefs and
that intellectual ideas and belief system and it'll override that but folks what's imprinted down in here all kind of craziness can be happening up here but what is revealed by the holy spirit in your spirit cannot will not be changed by what you see by what you hear by how you feel that day by any demon devil or principality or power nothing will move you from what has been revealed by revelation of the holy spirit that's why it's so important for you to get in the presence of god to know god to know that it's real every truth is real and not just in your head simon's faith simon's experience was in his head and in his emotions and he wanted to be somebody but when the apostle rebuked him what we find out and exposed him what we find out later is that he walked away from the apostles and he walked away from true christianity and he created his own doctrines and his own ideas in his own theology you will do the same if you allow your emotions to lead you you will be offended at the truth of god's word certain truths will offend you that's why so many christians now are moving away from from believing that people go to hell that's why so many christians are are walking away from only faith in jesus and repentance can you be saved and they're starting to say oh well muslims will go to heaven if they do good and atheists will go to heaven if they do good see what's happened is their theology their belief system is only in their soul their mind their will their emotions their own intellect and what happens is when they see an emotional event like your friend that was here describing that woman the muslim getting shot and killed the muslim woman and that emotional event of seeing somebody killed who was not a christian and knowing that they went to hell the emotion said i can't accept that i can't accept that god would send this person to hell so it's again this whole gymnastic thing is going on in the intellect and in the emotions of man and in the with the will of man and so what happens is if your belief system is only information that you believe when emotional things happen or struggles happen your will will sway and overthrow your belief system this is why so many are going to fall away because they haven't gone deeper than
information they've believed the gospel but they haven't pressed in to have it revealed to them let me read some words to you and we'll i'll try to stop i i hope i'm communicating this today here's some words all right did i tell you to turn to ephesians 1 i thought i did i'm sorry second corinthians let's read let's read first corinthians 2 then we're going to read ephesians 1 and then i'm going to read these words to you here okay these greek definitions of these words see now this will make sense to you what paul was saying here first corinthians 2 verse 1 and i brethren when i came to you came not with the excellency of speech or of wisdom declaring unto you the testimony of god i didn't come to you with great oratory i didn't come to you with just wisdom that is intellectual wisdom okay soulish wisdom he said for i determine not to know anything among you say jesus christ and him crucified and i was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling and my speech and my preaching was not with the enticing words of man's wisdom but in the demonstration of the spirit and of power that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of god see he's saying i could come to you with the excellency of speech man's wisdom man's wisdom can explain the gospel i can explain the gospel through intellectual knowledge and wisdom but what paul is saying here is i don't want that i didn't want that for you my preaching and teaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom i'm not trying to trick you see a lot of preachers now trying to trick everybody god will bless you god will give you your best life now oh your best days are yet to come everybody's trying to entice you into believing i don't want to entice you why it's beneficial for you to follow jesus i know that unless my preaching comes with the power of the holy spirit and you get revelation you get impartation something penetrates your heart and you understand it i know that you will fall away from even information you have if there's not revelation penetrating your heart so that's why i constantly pray
let's look at this first ephesians i mean ephesians chapter one and this is what something you should be praying all the time for yourself for people around you wonder why people don't accept jesus it's because they don't have a revelation in their spirit in their heart deep they're hearing words but they're not feeling the power of the holy ghost and i'm not talking about feeling the goosebumps in the tingles i'm talking about the arrow of the lord the sword of the spirit which is the word of god that is bringing an impact into their heart are you in ephesians chapter one oh let me just go on ephesians chapter one he said verse 15. he said wherefore also after i heard of your faith in the lord now look at that after i heard of your faith in the lord that you believe the word of god you believe in jesus you believe the gospel that he died for your sins and rose again after i heard of your faith in the lord jesus and love unto all saints i cease not to give thanks unto you making mention of you in my prayers and here's what paul was praying for these believers these new believers this is what he was praying he said that the god of our lord jesus christ the father of glory may give unto you the spirit smallest the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him that the eyes of your understanding would be enlightened that you may know the hope of his calling and what the riches of his glory of the inheritance in the saints and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us who believe according to the working of his mighty power which he wrought in christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his own right hand in heavenly places do you see that paul said it's not enough that you've believed the gospel that's the problem with the modern church oh you believe the gospel you're good he said i cease not to make mention of you in my prayers praying that god will give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him that you may get impartation that you may have experience of the holy ghost inside you teaching you revealing to you imprinting engraving the truth inside of you in your in your spirit so that it can't be shaken by your waivering soul and your screwed up body in your spirit
go to ephesians 3 look at this i love what paul said here ephesians 3. verse one he said for this cause i paul the prisoner of jesus christ for you gentiles if you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of god which is giving given me to you word look at what he says verse 3 how by revelation he made known unto me the mystery as i wrote unto you before in a few words whereby when you read you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of christ what he's saying is my knowledge in the mystery of christ came by supernatural revelation of the holy ghost in me not just my head knowledge which in other ages he said verse 5 was not made known unto the sons of men as it is now revealed unto the holy apostles and prophets by the spirit oh listen to me listen to me listen to me listen to me listen to me the word of god all the preaching and teaching you hear everything that you think you know has got to go from information anyway it has got to go down deep to this revelation of the mystery do you hear that and you know something when i see you say i know what the scripture says about something but you don't do it i know you just have information it hasn't really sunk down in you how important it is to do that scripture uh-oh soulless christians hear the word of god but they don't do it doesn't become practice in their lives because they really don't take it seriously they don't think it's important but when you have a revelation of the word of god when you have a revelation of that every word of god is important and that man shall not live by by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of god when you when you understand and you have a revelation that every word written word of god is is god breathed and full of life and is alive and powerful when you believe that and the word of god says something simple do this don't do that when you have a revelation you take every word seriously and try to implement it in your life because you know it's important but the christian who sits around and goes yeah well whatever i know it says that but you know i wasn't brought up that way or i didn't learn it that way or you know i know pastor dean harps on it but you know i just don't feel it's important you're soulish
you're lazy you're rebellious and you're you're you're about as deep as that puddle on the asphalt that i talked about and when the storms come to you you will waver you will fall down i love this let's keep reading ephesians 3 i just love this go on down he says verse 8 unto me whom less than the least of all saints is this grace given that i should preach among the gentiles the unsearchable riches of christ and to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery from the beginning of the world that has been hid in god who created all things by jesus christ i mean just we could just keep reading that i'm gonna give you these words we gotta quit let's understand some things i'm gonna give them to you quickly if you want these if you want these uh this note i've typed it out i can email it to you but here it is i'm going to give you the definition in the greek of the word revelation remember we just read it he said i pray that god will give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation the word revelation is the greek word apocalypses so everybody thinks apocalypse is a bad word we've made it into a bad word but that's not what it means it doesn't mean the end of the world the destruction right the greek word apocalypse's this is what it means the strong's greek dictionary disclosure appearing coming to lighten or shine light on a situation that's in darkness a manifestation to be revealed the hebrew greek keyword lexicon says this revelation is the uncovering the unveiling the disclosure one of the three words referring to the second coming of jesus christ you know that there's three different greek words to the coming of jesus and i'm going to give them to you one is epiphania where we get our word epiphany from what is an epiphany when we finally something dawns upon us right we finally get something an epiphania that is the word appearing in first timothy 6 14. then there's the word parasia okay perisia is the word in second thessalonians 2 1 for presence of god or his coming his presence at his coming now apocalypses though is a grander
and more comprehensive word it includes not merely the thing shown and seeing but the interpretation and the unveiling of the thing see the apocalypse is different than just seeing something what he's saying is apocalypses is not just seeing it apocalypses is fully understanding it fully having it revealed disclosed uncovered in all of its glory see here's something you may not know the first coming of jesus was called an epiphany which means that he appeared but it wasn't a full revelation oh don't shout me down remember remember the reason we know it wasn't a full revelation of all that he is and all that he was going to do is because we know he's got to come back a second time right the first time he came as a little baby in a manger he hid among us as a human he took on a body and he hid among us and that's why many people couldn't comprehend and couldn't understand and couldn't see they didn't understand it was just an epiphany it was an appearing of christ the word apocalypses means when jesus returns the second time it is going to be a full revealing of him it is going to be a full manifestation of his glory his glory will be seen as far as the east is to the west it will be so strong and so powerful it says that the kings of the earth and the rich men and the rulers and the mighty men are going to flee and try to hide themselves in the rocks and the caves from the glory and power of the coming king this is the difference this is what i'm talking about there's an epiphany or an apocalypse in your life many of you have had the epiphania you've had an appearing of jesus in your life you've had a you you've had an encounter you have a belief system because you felt the wind of the spirit of the touch of the spirit and the or the truth of some truth of the gospels penetrated in your life and you've believed it and you've been born again that's the epiphania epiphany you've received the appearing the first coming of jesus but there is a greater understanding there is a greater revelation that you can have in your life and it's called the apocalypses and let me just say this there's a lot i'm skipping one of the words but the parasia you have the epiphany just is seeing you have the pair the pelucia that is the presence and then you have the apocalypse that is the complete revealing and impartation there's nothing hidden anymore this is the way it is with every truth in the word of god that you need do you hear me at first it will be it will appear to
you you will see it epiphania then if you keep digging and seeking god he'll manifest his presence and confirm it to you the holy spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are children of god right that's a peril see of the presence the touch of god i know many christians who've had the epiphania and they've had the perisia they've had the the appearing they've had the encounter they've had a touch of his presence but they still don't have revelation they still don't have the apocalypse and the apocalypse this is when you've grasped the fullness of his glory in your life it's so imprinted in your spirit no one can move you from it no one can shake you from it a thousand false prophets a million false teachers could come a million signs and wonders could happen to the contrary from the devil and you would go no i know i know that these are words about the second coming of jesus and about the first coming of jesus but hear what i'm saying to you is not jesus the word of god don't hear me stay with me i know i know this is a little on but stay with me just a little bit on this jesus is the word of god he is the logos okay jesus said this in john 6 the words that i speak unto you they are spirit and they are life so jesus himself is the logos the word of god when he speaks he says these words are spirit right now he's the word of god then he said i am the way the truth and the life right so what he's saying there is guess what it's the word you've got to have it's the word and that's why it says in hebrews 4 the word hebrews 4 12 for the word of god is quick alive and powerful piercing even to the dividing of sunder of soul and spirit it is the logos it is the rhema it is the voice of god it is the written word of god and the voice of god that comes in that's alive and will show you the difference between what is soul and what is spirit it says it's a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart god wants you to figure it out what is soul and spirit but you see what i'm saying
this you you can experience the epiphania you can experience the perisia the presence of god in your life but the apocalypse comes with maturity and growth and time with him and crying out for apocalypses you got you know what a lot of people what did james say you have not because you asked not every word of god every scripture everything god said in the word everything that he's saying prophetically everything has to go from epiphania to apocalypses in your life it's got to go from soul intellect knowledge just knowledge it's got to go to revelation in your spirit and you have to ask god for that you have to seek for that it's not something pastor dean can give you it's not something that some other preacher can give you we can preach to you we can teach to you we can we can point you in the right direction but you have got to cry out for a revelation of jesus christ in your life you've got to cry out for a revelation of every scripture you should be reading the scriptures and praying god give me revelation give me an apocalypse of this picture of this truth imprinted any great in my spirit not just in my mind if it ever gets to revelation you will live it whatever gets in your spirit and becomes revelation you will live whatever truth becomes reveled you will live and can i say that the faith true faith comes from this revelation that's why peter couldn't be shaken remember i'm gonna close with this right here remember when the disciples came up and jesus was talking that stuff in john 6 and he was talking about eating my flesh and drinking my blood and they were thinking that he was talking about really eating their body like the roman catholics think they really eat the body and blood of jesus and jesus goes no no you don't get it the words that i speak unto you they are spirit and they are life you need a revelation of communion you need a revelation of what it means to take my body and my blood you need a revelation this is a spiritual revelation it ain't a priest doing hocus pocus and turning a cookie into the blood of the body of jesus this is ridiculous ridiculous what religion does right and jesus was telling you you need a revelation well jesus was preaching this about you need to understand this is spiritual this is spirit they were trying to
figure it out in their heads right in their soul and so what happened it says from this is john 6 verse 66 they said this is a this a hard saying a hard saying who can bear you know why it was a hard saying because they couldn't figure it out in their minds and their souls and their emotions couldn't handle it so what happens when you when you can't figure it out in your mind and your emotions or your emotions can't handle the truth of scripture some truth what happens is it said right after that it said they said this is a hard thing who can bear it and it says from that time many of his disciples went back and walked no more with him if you live the christian life out of your soul you will be offended you will get confused you will get upset you will you will you will not understand something you will think something's too hard or too mean or doesn't make sense and you will end up being offended with god and you will walk away from him it will happen you hear me oh but what did jesus do after all those people turned away from jesus because their souls their mind will and emotions their intellect couldn't handle what he was preaching and teaching they couldn't get it in the spirit he turned to the twelve and he said will you also go away and peter because peter had a revelation of the christ the son of the lord peter didn't just have an epiphany he didn't just have a periscope he saw the miracles and felt the presence he had an apocalypse the father had revealed to him that jesus was the messiah the christ the son of the living god the only salvation the salvation of israel he had a revelation so when jesus turned to the twelve and said will you also go away he said where do we go lord you have the words of eternal life there's no other way there's no other place to go there's nobody else to go to he had a revelation he couldn't be moved he didn't understand what jesus was preaching and teaching about the the body and the blood he didn't he saw all the people walk away i don't know there's a lot of people that have gotten offended with our church because our church doesn't grow i don't care be offended by what you see and what you hear be offended walk away it's a long walk away go see how that works out there go and find out for yourself because if you don't know in the spirit you'll go away how many people listen my wife marvels at how many people she's seen healed delivered from demons healed by the
power of jesus touched by the present god come into church here and cry their eyeballs out because the presence of god is touching them and dealing with them never come back or never even visit church period i understand people are psychos because they're led by their emotions and their own intellect and their own ideas and their own plans and their own will instead of ever getting deep enough in their christian walk to be led by the holy spirit consistently and let me tell you something being spiritual and being led by the holy spirit most of the time 99 of the time goes against what your brain is telling you to do oh boy why do you think the bible says in proverbs what trust in the lord with all your heart spirit lean not to your own understanding soul commit your way to him don't decide what you're going to do soul and he will direct your path by the holy spirit speaking to your spirit well we could we could we could spend some some time on it do you see how all the scriptures put a difference between what is soul and what is spirit i love what david said he would speak to his soul why aren't i cast down o my soul why are you disquieted within me david was a man of worship david was a man of prayer he understood there's a difference in the spirit over here and the soul now you know when he sinned with bathsheba and he he committed murder and he he sinned grievously god lifted his spirit listen what david and so psalm 51 what's david saying he starts saying take not your holy spirit from me restore unto me the joy of thyself create in me a clean heart o god and renew a right spirit within me don't take your presence away from me hear what i'm about to say to you if you keep living the christian life only in your soul in your mind will and emotions and your intellect
if you keep living christianity like that your spirit man will grow so weak and your soul will destroy you you will lose your soul to your self-life your flesh life and to the devil the holy spirit in you and your spirit being strong is the only thing that saves your soul see this is why the bible says that we must renew our minds our souls must be renewed the soul for the most part y'all and this is what i love watchmene talks about this in his book the spiritual man but he says this about the soul we forget that the body and the soul are the two parts that are creation oh come on we'll get a little deep here on you are created the spirit is the breath of god in us remember god formed adam it says out of the dust he formed a body out of the dust of the earth it said he breathed in adam that was the spirit he breathed into adam god's breath and adam became a living soul you hear what i'm saying the soul god formed adam's body from dirt he breathed when god imparted his spirit into adam adam became a living soul the spirit god's breath created his soul and he had already created his body but the body and the soul or creation the spirit is the breath of god see that's why you understand another scripture in ecclesiastes says when we die the spirit will return to god who gave it the soul is what dies if you if you go to hell it says your soul goes to die a second death which is eternal torment and suffering you see
see literally the new agers in the in the buddhist in the hindus got one thing right only one that the life of god the creator and they don't even know who he is fully but they know that there's part of him in all of us they tap into that through demonic power bypassing jesus and the blood of jesus as their messiah and therefore they are cain seed bypassing the blood bypassing the way and trying to connect with god or connect with their spirit side without jesus that's sorcery and witchcraft whenever you try to connect with the spirit side spiritual things outside of jesus and the word the written word of god you are into witchcraft you may find spiritual things and you may have spiritual experiences but you're into witchcraft sorcery and you're dealing with demons the folks is amazing how god has made us we are truly fearfully and wonderfully made now think about this the reality your spirit soul of body and the spirit part of you is literally god's breath god's life god's god's part living in you to take that part that god has given you and go sin with it or kill it committing spiritual suicide by living in sin well this just keeps going did y'all learn something today next week your feelings are really going to get hurt so i hope you still come to church i'm telling you there's no way to do that what this message in just one minute in one sermon but i got to ask you a question and you don't have to answer me well maybe i'll just tell you but here it is if you don't decide that you're going to become a christian who lives the life the christian life from your spirit from your conscience your intuition to be truly spiritual to grow up and you keep living it out of your soul you're in big trouble you will go down the plane will crash and burn
you hear me let's pray father we thank you that you are teaching us your word god we all have so much to learn so much growth and maturity we need in our spirits god help us to lord develop our spirit and not just our soul and our body lord i pray in the name of jesus that we'll take your words seriously both the written words and the true prophetic words that come and let them divide between what is soul and what is spirit god show us if we're just a soulish immature carnally minded christian that's dominated by our thoughts our own thoughts and our own emotions are that we are truly spirit dominated holy spirit in our spirit word of god living words dominated we will be one of the other i pray god that you will help us by giving us revelation of every truth in the scriptures that every truth will go from intellectual knowledge to revelation knowledge and that we will grow up father i pray this for everyone here everyone listening it's time to be a spiritual man a spiritual woman and that means much more than being able to talk spiritual or have a spiritual experience here or there it becomes a life i like the way paul put it in galatians john if we live in the spirit or if we walk in the spirit let us also live in the spirit wait a minute now taking a walk and living your life is a whole different thing in it many people take walks in the spirit they might operate in the gifts here and there but do they live as a spiritual truly spiritual person that doesn't mean knowledge head knowledge it doesn't mean good works means truly having intimacy and communication spirit to spirit with god's spirit and being led by the spirit and not your own mind your own emotions well i hope this sinks in this is such an important truth for the christian walk in life here's what's sad many buddhists and hindus and new agers are more in touch with their spirit than
christians are but they're just in they're not in they may be in spirit smallest but they're not in truth christians have the truth the forces they're dealing with are demons the force we have is the one true god his holy spirit and yet we neglect and neglect and neglect and neglect and neglect and we depend on our soul it's all about our what's in our thoughts it's all about our ideas it's all about our opinions it's all about our feelings our emotional feelings and we just we're driven and we're pushed and that's just how we live and we think that's acceptable to god can i say to you that god looks at your soulish self-life self-willed emotionally controlled life he looks at that soulish dominated mind and life as much sinful and evil as living in adultery or homosexuality it is just as evil because it is contrary to the will of god remember the tree the knowledge of good and evil there's a good side to the tree oh i want to go preach on the streets every weekend that's good did god tell you to do that did the holy spirit tell you to do that oh but it's written in the scripture oh it tells us to go out into the highways and the hedges yes it does but when you grow up sonny you'll learn that maybe god wanted you that night sitting in your prayer closet praying for those sinners on the street or maybe there was a person a christian he wanted you to go talk to it isn't about our desires even for good things amen the ministry is an idol for many many a preacher many a christian it is a big fat idol
