  1. what do you ever think about that do you ever think about the way life was before you know the devil will try to make you think about some of the fun in the world you know something steve hill said this week he'll he'll always remind you of some of the fun he doesn't remind you when you woke up so depressed and in darkness that you didn't want to live he doesn't remind you of hanging over the toilet you'd never drink again [Music] he didn't remind you when you wrecked your car [Music] or when your paycheck went to pay all those speeding people now he didn't have to remind you of those things but he'll remind you of all that other stuff it's good to be remembered isn't it you remember hey i don't want to be like that anymore i can tell you right now this this guy does not want to go back to that old guy i was not at all somebody ought to say amen right there all right you may be seated hallelujah thank you jesus awesome okay thank you lord hold on it's going to take us a little second here to get straightened out up here i'm wondering why i'm looking at nemo but [Music] i'm looking at nemo [Laughter] praise the lord we do have some prayer requests we're going to take care of that at the end don't let me forget that um because i want to get into this i want you to take your bibles this morning and i want you to turn first of all to psalm 27 psalm 27 it's going to take me just a second here to get set up psalm 27. now there's so much here but this has kind of been on my mind for some time probably one of the best studies that i did as a young christian was a book by kevin j connor entitled the tabernacle of moses if you've never studied the tabernacle of moses and understood everything that god was trying to say there i want to tell you it is a study that will enrich your life um we're going to have some some illustrations up here today to kind of help you but what i want to talk to you about today is about the secret of his tabernacle

  2. and this is something that we need to learn because the ultimate goal of god is to dwell among his people do you understand that that's his ultimate goal that's what he wanted that's what he did when he created us he wanted us to want to be able to dwell with his people and you know i've talked to you some about the glory of god and the presence of god and all these things but we're going to see some things i want you to see as we go through this about the tabernacle of moses everything that god did in the old testament were types and shadows of spiritual things in heaven and of things that he was trying to teach us the tabernacle of moses and of course solomon's temple and of course david's uh tabernacle before that they all had different aspects and different things about them but this one right here is probably the key it's the foundation to so many things there's so many things in this tabernacle about jesus long before jesus ever came a matter of fact jesus spoke about this and he declared himself to be each part of this as we'll get into it in just a second but i want to read this in psalm 27 are you there you're there and guess who's not psalm 27 let me find it here yes i tell you to turn there and then i'm slow and see i want to tell you this is i guess you might say too that the tabernacle one of the reasons god did this is to show us the path to the glory of god to the power of god to the presence of god that this that really the church longs for but the world longs for just as much the world wants to know god's real i mean we uh witness it on the job you know one of the things uh one of the guys said one time was you know if if i just saw something if i just experienced something if i just had an encounter i'd believe well we've got to get the glory of god to manifest not just in the church but in the world and this thing right here this tabernacle there's a secret the secret to get there is in here is in this tabernacle of moses psalm 27 we're going to start reading in verse 1. he says here david says the lord is my light and my salvation whom shall i fear the lord is the strength of my life of whom shall i be afraid when the wicked even my enemies and my foes come upon me they eat up my flesh they stumbled and fell though a host should encamp against me my heart shall not fear the war should rise against me and this will i be confident one thing i have i desired of the lord that i may seek after that i may dwell in the house of the lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the lord and to inquire in his temple

  3. for in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me and he shall set me upon a rock now i'm going to quit reading right here just because i want to show you some things he goes on to talk about prayer and god telling him to seek prayer but he says one thing have i desired and i think this is where a lot of people miss some things he says one thing have i desired and that will i seek after that i may dwell in the house of the lord forever well does that mean you go to church every day of your life 24 7 and you never leave no that's not what that means david was referring to the secret of his tabernacle and that's why he went on down to say in the time of trouble now how many of you know that a time of trouble is about to come on the world that jesus said has never the world is never seen the great tribulation is upon us it is around the corner the birth pains and the sorrows the great sorrows leading up to the coming of jesus are beginning right now he said jesus said in in matthew 24 he said the the beginning of sorrows would be terrible earthquakes and earthquakes increasing in diverse places he would said there were going to be diseases and there were going to be wars and rumors of wars and david says here it's interesting he said if war rises against me where am i going to put my trust where am i going to put where when if you know the whole world comes against me who is my shield why will i not be afraid because he said i'm going to one thing i want to do is i want to dwell in the house of the lord forever well again this thing is both this tabernacle in the wilderness of moses the spirit it was a physical place but god told moses to make it after the pattern of what he saw in heaven so this thing is both in heaven literally and then moses made it exactly everything according to the way god showed him when he was up on the mountain and these things are pictures of spiritual things that you and i are to dwell in and experience now so i want to say this you and i can dwell in the house of the lord forever if we want to as long as we do things his way that was one of the keys that god was showing israel if you want to be with me and you want me to be with you and you want me to dwell in the midst of your camp just like this that you see in this picture if you want me to be with you then here's the way you do it and god gave them a prescribed way if you notice that there's a fence all the way around that thing and there was only one way in right there in the front in front of what's called the brazen altar and we're going to look at that in that interesting god said if you're going to approach me there's a fence around this way to get to my glory to get to my presence to get to knowing me intimately and powerfully he said there's a one way though you've got to enter this door right here one way see god's not confused the world's confused

  4. satan has done his job deceiving the whole world and confusing the world and making them think that there are thousands of ways to get to god thousands of ways to know the creator or or this powerful entity no god showed us long time ago that if you want to approach me it's my way and it's one way and he gives a progression here and we're going to look at it go to the next one and we'll go to the next one and look at this i just want to show you kind of the basic setup here of the tabernacle you see that it had a it had a wall or a fence all the way around about it and there was one way to enter in well as soon as you entered in to the court it was called the outer court once you entered into the court the first thing you ran into was the object there called the brazen altar it was made of brass and it was a place where they actually god lit the fire on it to start it off with but that is the place that they offered the blood sacrifices and then burnt them with fire this place is when you walked in and here's a beautiful picture when you walked in the door your the first picture that you get of the way to god is a bloody mess bloody mess a place of death where animals were sacrificed and their blood was was spilled out and poured upon the altar and then they were laid upon the altar and burned now this is a picture of jesus said did he not say in in the gospels i am the door john 14 6 he said i am the way the truth and the life and no man comes to the father but by me he was declaring this pretty clearly but he said that unless the son of man was lifted up and that meant nailed it to a cross unless the son of man unless jesus shed his blood you could not proceed any further so let me just say this you don't go anywhere in the kingdom of god until you are born again and until you understand that nothing can wash away your sins but the blood of jesus and you have to fully accept the cross in everything that it means or you go no further let me tell you something right now what we have is a lot of people in the church world who have stepped inside the door they've seen that brazen altar where these animals are being sacrificed where this blood has been shed they see the cross they see the demands of the cross and they turn around and walk back out and say that they believe in it but they don't want to really embrace it this was a it was a terrible terrible mess right there matter of fact if you saw the pictures of it it was just you know awful and they literally would burn the fat of the animal on this brazen altar and you know some of that smells okay and some of it does it because they would burn other parts too um but the next thing after you came and brought your sacrifice the priest would

  5. take the blood now and then all the articles in the temple were sanctified or sprinkled with blood but we're gonna go to the next thing when the priest came in and again only the priest could come in here when the priest came in here to go to the next step they had to go to the next thing on that which you see is called the brazen laver now that was a big thing that had water in it okay and they had to wash before the priest had to wash in this brazen laver before they could go in to the temple and it was more of a ceremonial washing but this speaks to us right here of several things the bible says that we are washed by the water of the word we are washed by the renewing and regeneration of the holy spirit the word of god is referred to as water as well as the holy spirit this speaks of sanctification purification baptism in water baptism in the holy spirit this speaks of getting your life pure before you go in there now now it's interesting and interesting that we have two places of cleansing before we can go into the holy place and begin really to minister before the lord okay to really to really approach this thing we've got to be washed in the blood we've got to be born again we've got to embrace the cross of jesus and the sacrifice of jesus and confess our sins and let our sins be washed away but after that we have to take the next step and we have to cleanse ourselves from some things that means we got to change some behaviors we got to change some things that we do we got to change some habits we got to be willing to cut off change do anything that's necessary to be sanctified i like what the old pentecostals used to say they used to stand up and testified and they'd say i'm saved sanctified and filled with the holy ghost and to them in the old pentecostals you weren't ready to minister to do anything for god unless you were saved and then sanctified you were purified you had the purification and sanctification john wesley even taught this that there was a period in your life that after you were born again you still needed some areas where you needed to clean up some things yeah how many of you know jesus takes care of the sin we got to take care of the attitudes and the behavior and the habits and the other stuff he says let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit right we've talked about that in this church the two cleansings one that only the blood can do and the one that we are supposed to do by getting in the word by obeying the word by being baptized by being filled with the holy spirit by sanctifying our life getting the world out of our life how many of you know when you break up with the devil you should give him his stuff back right break up with him don't keep his ring don't keep his jacket you get rid of his stuff but the next thing now is you actually moved into this is all in the outer court and see this is where i mean really the church world for the most part meals around in the outer court they mill around and they don't really

  6. enter into the place of true ministry and true power and true intimacy with god now i want you to go go to the next one let's just see where we are here i can't remember now unless you see this see there's a little picture of the brazen altar and the bloody mess that it was in the priest ministering there and the blood all over the place kind of gives you an idea go ahead and go to the next one this gives you an idea when you go into the tabernacle and today i'm not going to get into everything in here because there's some points i want to make but i want you to notice that when you entered in and this is a good illustration of when you entered in to the right is the table of showbread the table of showbread is where the priest had to prepare each sabbath six well twelve loaves and they had to be in stacks of six twelve loaves and they had to be unleavened bread and a fine flower and god gave specific instructions about that bread that was to be there also on that table would be cups and bowls and that is where the drink offering was poured out or this is the only place in the old testament where you see it says use strong wine but it was not to be the priests were not to drink it it was to be poured out as a drink offering to the lord so this is a picture here we have of the bread and the wine of the communion but it's interesting the bread also represents the word of god paul said that we shall not muzzle the ox that treads out the corn and he was speaking about the elder of the pastor of the teacher who who breaks down the corn into the little pieces so that it can be made into flour and be made into bread and so he talks about the teaching and preaching of the word and doctrine being the the corn broken down into the meal and then made into bread jesus said there i am the bread of life did he not it's interesting that there were 12 loaves yes that speaks of the 12 tribes of israel but it also speaks of the 12 apostles of jesus who laid the doctrinal foundation for the church which is interesting that their their biggest priority of the apostles is you'll notice he said when when there was the argument about them you know serving tables or not it says we cannot leave the ministry of the word of god and prayer and i mean they were serious about it and it says if you go to acts 2 it says they the the people continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and breaking of bread and prayers and fellowship doctrine is important so that represents the word of god there the bread of life the teaching of the word the thing to the left there is called the golden lampstand of the golden candlestick it wasn't candles of wax it was literally little bowls that set on top of there with oil in them and wicks in them and the priest's job was to make sure that the oil never went out another part of aaron's job and any of the other priests was to go in and when the wicks got a little off they were to trim the wicks to make sure that this gave light this was the only

  7. light that you could see now with this picture we see that the veil is pulled back so we can see the the ark of the covenant in the holy of holies but in the real tabernacle the the veil would be pulled because only the high priest could go in that next veil one time a year so the only light in there was that candlestick well let me tell you what that candlestick represents the candlestick there with the oil and the fire and giving light to the word is the holy spirit it's a representation of the holy spirit and also it's a representation of jesus as he said i am the light of the world and it's a representation of the church being the light of the world but i just want you to see get a little picture of this but if you move forward you move forward what when the veil was closed right in front of the veil was the altar of incense and it set right in front of the veil and they've got it in this picture a little to the left but it didn't sit that way it set right in the middle it's interesting if you look at an aerial view of the way the furniture is set up it's set up in a cross pattern it's also interesting that if you did an aerial view of the camp of israel the way that they camped he had a smaller number up here he had two even numbers over here and a large group down here even the camp was in the shape of a cross here you see the altar of incense and this is where the high priest and this is actually where zechariah this the father of john the baptist was doing his ministry because he was a priest and he was it was his turn to minister at the altar of incense and this is where the angel gabriel appeared to him and told him that john the baptist would be born incense speaks of prayers the prayers of the saints being lifted up to this to god now i can i'm going to go into the scriptures about this in a minute but i just wanted you to get a working knowledge of this everything in this tabernacle represented and still to this day represents to us basically spiritual disciplines i want to tell you this morning when i went to pray out you know i was like lord what what are you trying to say through this and he was trying to say you know the way into the into the glory of god to that ark of the covenant to that manifest tangible as they say chicana glory okay is spiritual disciplines and i'm just going to say to you that all of us and me included we have got to change some things in our lives we cannot say we want the glory of god and not have the spiritual disciplines in our life to spend time in the word of god spend time studying reading meditating on the word of god the table of show bread

  8. do you spend time in the word of god the bible says in in the book of joshua and in psalm 1 that the the man that's blessed meditates in the law of the lord both day and night he told joshua you want to make your way prosperous and have good success he said meditate in my word day and night and make sure that you observe and that you're diligent to do everything that's in that word but we got christians who do not crack the bible open all week long i'm just telling you you want the glory of god in your life you want the power of god in your life you have to spend time in his word his word is quick and alive it's powerful the word of god is what makes you it's the bread of life it's that bread we saw on that table there here's the other thing you have got to spend time with the holy spirit you have got to spend time asking god to fill you with the holy spirit making sure that your vessel is full of the oil of the holy spirit making sure that you're on fire and not lukewarm you know the bible says in the days of samuel that eli the high priest let the lamps go out in the temple that was a no-no and both he and his sons ended up dying over it this is the place that if we want we say we want god we're going to have to enter in see out in the outer court you had to bring your sacrifice and it had the blood had to be shed and then for you to proceed any further you had to clean up your life and see i think that's where our church has been the lord told me that our church the people that's been here god what he wanted to do was get us cleaned up before we could move forward and it's the perfect picture before we could move forward and really do the ministry that god's called us to do preaching of the word ministering the power of the holy spirit to people prayer and intercession moving into the glory of god man let me tell you if we want to do those things we're going to have to make sure we get sanctified cleaned up and then and then establish these spiritual disciplines in our life the word of god the holy spirit and the altar of incense hear prayer notice where prayer takes you though if you're a man or woman of prayer that gives yourself to prayer at intercession let me tell you where that takes you it takes you right up to the veil you're at the you're at the very door of moving into the glory of god see here's the thing god does things by pattern and he says i'm gonna show you a pattern of how you get close to me and how you move into the glory and he says first be washed in the blood second make sure you cleanse yourself be sanctified be holy hadn't haven't you heard that a little bit around here but it's time for us to get past that i

  9. shouldn't have to be telling you to be holy over and over and over again right you should get that fear god move on right because god wants us to minister in the power of the holy spirit he wants to be able to preach the word and minister the power lay hands on people them hit the floor lay hands on people and they be healed lay hands on people and they get filled with the holy ghost and speak in tongues this is what god wants us to take out into the world cast demons out of people out there we have got to have the word of god in us and we've got to have the oil and the anointing on us and we've got to be men and women of prayer and intercession see and his job was to take this sensor in his hand an incense was offered but it was also incense in that sensor it's a it's a beautiful picture god said this was what's going on in heaven you want me to read some of this for you so you'll see what i'm talking about go to hebrews hebrews chapter 9. i'm giving you the secret of his tabernacle let's see if they taught that these things were types and shadows and important for our lives this is new testament are y'all with me this morning how many of you have never really heard anything or taught or about the tabernacle of moses in any depth never all right i'm saying okay who has in any depth one person one two all right praise god well then obviously this was needed this is something that that and i'm gonna tell you a little secret sometimes in my prayer time god literally has me use the tabernacle as a guide in my prayer time i come through i say lord jesus i come to the brazen altar the blood i need the blood on my life the brazen ladder is there anywhere i need to be cleansed god is there anything i need to sanctify any anything i sin i need to confess or anything i need to change then i move on in there and i pray and get up there and lord lay people on my heart to pray for intercession oh man it's it's good let's go hebrews 9 though hebrews 9. we're going to start at verse 1. he says here then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service and a worldly sanctuary now it's not talking about worldly in a bad sense it means physical for there was a tabernacle made the first wherein was the candlestick and the table and the showbread which is called the sanctuary and after the second veil the tabernacle which is called the holiest of all which had the golden sensor and the ark of the

  10. covenant overlaid roundabout with gold wherein was the golden pot that had manna and aaron's rod that budded and the tables of the covenant and over at the cherubims of the glory shadowing the mercy seat of which we cannot now speak particularly but now when these things were thus ordained the priest went always into the first tabernacle accomplishing the service of god but into the second with the high priest alone every year not without blood which he offered for himself and for the heirs of the people the holy ghost thus signifying that the way into the holiest of all was not made manifest while the first tabernacle was yet standing which was a figure or a type or shadow for the time then present in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices that could not make him that did the service perfect as pertaining to conscience which stood only in meats and drinks and divers washings and carnal ordinances imposed on them until the time of reformation but look at verse 11 but christ become a high priest of good things come by greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands that is to say not of this building neither by the blood of goats and calves but by his own blood entered in once into the holy place having obtained eternal redemption for us he goes and say for if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh how much more shall the blood of christ who through the eternal spirit offered himself without spot to god purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living god now we could go on and read more of this but i wanted you to see that the new testament talks of this and paul i believe who wrote hebrews is starting to show us these are examples that literally this there's a heavenly tabernacle that jesus went into look over in verse uh the saint 923 let's look over at that one he says it was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in heaven should be purified with these but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices for christ is not entered into the holy place made with hands talking about the tabernacle of moses he's not entered into the holy place made with hands which are figures of the true but into heaven itself now to appear in the presence of god nor yet that he should offer himself often as the high priest enter into the holy place every year but jesus did it once and for all so i wanted you to see that he's talking about that there is a heavenly tabernacle and that if we went back to exodus 25 you'd see where god told moses make everything according to the way that you saw it make it just the way you saw it now let's go i want you to see go to the the holy of holies

  11. folks the holy of holies the ark of the covenant this is where the literal tangible glory of god would manifest this is where you saw the pillar of fire coming out of the tabernacle this is where it originated from literally god would manifest himself and sit there and the high priest would have to come in once a year on the day of atonement which is coming up soon and he would have to enter in on the day of atonement and bring in blood and the censor of incense and he would have to sprinkle the blood on the mercy seat and that blood was to cover the sins of israel for the next year okay now that did not take away human responsibility this was dealing with sin and protecting the people for a whole year okay now i want to explain where this is right here this is something that i believe god's been saying to me over and over and over again you've heard me say it but i hope now you're getting a picture of it through the tabernacle is this is that the ultimate goal of the church of the christian is to get the glory of god to come down so we can save the world the world needs to see the glory they are blinded by satan they are blinded by deceptions and errors they are blinded by demons and forces of darkness they are held in captivity and the glory of god is what they need to bring them to jesus to melt their hearts to open their spiritually blinded eyes and to change them and bring them to jesus folks our goal has got to be to do what is necessary and to do it god's way so that the glory and the power of god will come down now we have had you know services in this you know as we've had in this church where god has moved people have come in they have felt the presence of god i remember one sunday i asked who who's felt the presence of god the in the church service at some point and everybody raised their hand i mean that is awesome most churches today i'm gonna tell you they're so dead they're so dry they're so compromised they're so uncaring about what's really important to god that there's not an anointing there there's not a tangible touch of the glory well let me tell you this just because you have a tangible touch of the glory you have a tangible anointing does not mean that the devil is not going to fight you every inch of the way and we are in a war we are in a fight right now to get to the place god told me about in the where he wanted to move in the fall but the glory of god does not come unless holy people exercise holy spiritual disciplines and go after god the way he says to go after him and this is our goal let me show you the glory turn with me to acts 9 real quick i want you to see

  12. the church getting hold of the glory of god changes some stuff i want you to see the glory of god manifesting and i've read this before but i just feel like we need to do it again acts chapter 9 the conversion of saul of tarsus but let's look at it a little closer the church got the glory right let me tell you a little tidbit of information you know this was the tabernacle of moses and then there was a tent david set up in his backyard for a number of years but when god finally allowed them and directed them to build the temple of solomon god gave david the complete pattern of everything that was to be built in the temple of solomon it's interesting in the temple of solomon that the bread in this tabernacle there were 12. in the temple of solomon there were 10 tables of 12 120. how many were in the upper room 120 people in the upper room and what happened to those 120 people they got the glory what were they doing though before they got the glory they were in that holy place doing what praying alter of incense that got right up to the glory see what i'm saying they got the glory of god to come down guess what happened when the glory of god came down thousands of people came to jesus you hear me say this with me the glory of god is for the world that's why we have to have the glory of god when i say revival when i say a move of god when i say the loss being saved i'm talking about this glory coming down to they can't stand it anymore these are the kind of conversions that were taking place all around the early church saul of tarsus was their number one enemy he was bound in the religion of the day he thought he was right he was trained at the feet of gamel he called himself a pharisee of pharisees being more zealous for the religion of his fathers than anybody else he was a young fired up religious zealous nut for judaism so much so that he could not stand christianity hated it with a passion wanted to put every christian he could in jail wanting to kill every christian he could this man

  13. epitomizes what is in the world jesus said the world will hate you it will love its own right there is a world out there right now that hates the church that hates christianity that hates jesus and some of them aren't going to be one to jesus by saying jesus loves you and has a plan for your life they're going to look at you and go get out of my face i've heard that i've read the four spiritual laws like steve hill said that he said you brought you if you brought the four spiritual laws little track up to saul of tarsus after he got through tearing it into little pieces he would either have killed you or put you in jail saul of tarsus needed the glory of god to hit him let's read this so you see that god manifested his glory even in the new testament and saul yet breathing out threatenings this is verse one chapter nine verse one and saw yet breathing out threats he was threatening slaughter against the disciples of the lord and went to the high priest and desired of him letters to damascus to the synagogues that if he found any of this way whether they were men or women he might bring them bound to jerusalem and as he journeyed he came near damascus now look at this and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven and he fell to the earth and heard a voice saying saul saul why do you persecute me say this with me a light shine from heaven and knocked saul to the ground [Music] does that sound nice and pretty why do you think that god manifested his glory and did that to saul just because saul had some divine call on his life no there was a holy praying church that knew that jesus had said to pray for your enemies and to bless those who curse you and they took that serious and saul was the number one enemy so guess who was number one on the prayer list of the church and because this church was washed in the blood because they were holy because they were sanctified because they were in the holy place hungering for the word of god wanting all of the god wanting the holy spirit in their life praying like nobody even really we still don't know how much they prayed how powerfully they pray we know sometimes they got together and prayed and the building shook man and this is what we've got to get in our heads we can be like them

  14. we can do what they did jesus said he who believes on me the works that i do shall he do also i'm not looking to be emerging or help i'm not looking to repackage christianity into some slick media presentation i am looking to be like they were in acts and that's what you ought to be looking for god answered the prayers of his people and he said you know what i'm gonna do i'm going to let the glory come down on salt of tarsus and the azusa street revival you know this is a well-known fact i read the book years ago by frank bartleman who was the main intercessor prayer warrior that brought in the great azusa street revival in 1906. i went down to we went to steve hill's meetings this week and i bought the book where it's a reprint of the azusa street newsletters from 1906 to 1908 every month and i started reading some of those testimonies but one of the testimonies of azusa street is when the glory of god came down on that building at 312 azusa street that literally that people thought the building was on fire and called the fire department because they could see the fire burning on the building and when the fire department got there they realized that it wasn't a natural fire but yet it could be seen people came to that church to that little meeting place for three and a half years every day of the week thousands came it is said that the glory of god was so strong upon that building at times that people would fall out in the street two blocks away in the holy ghost and then get up and go what is going on here and find their way to this building but let me tell you the la daily news hated them oh they hated them they mocked them and derided them and just said you know just put them down but i'm going to tell you they had the glory of god people got saved by the thousands people came there and got right with god and got filled with the holy ghost and spread this thing all over america and the world to this day every pentecostal and charismatic church in america and most around the world can trace their tongue talking healing believing demon casting out faith trace it all the way back to somebody that had been in azusa street my little aunts 1935 talked about some little pentecostals

  15. coming over to casita and setting up a little brush arbor and singing with such passion and such zeal that they they were drawn to the meetings and that's where my great-grandfather noah jackson jones got saved that's where my two aunts got saved and they they all got baptized in the holy spirit my great-grandmother and these are the people who prayed for me every day of their lives these are the ones that took me when i was five years old into a pentecostal church and i sat there and i heard tongues for the first time and as a five-year-old knew it was from god as a five-year-old i would sit there and not move because the glory of god was in that church back then we can trace it let's let's read on here come on now y'all are quiet sooner or later we're going to turn you all in some pentecostals verse four i'm gonna go back verse three and he as he journeyed he came near damascus and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven and he fell to the earth and heard a voice saying saul saul why persecutest thou me and he said who are you lord and the lord said i am jesus whom you persecute it is hard for you to kick against the pricks now look at verse six closely and he trembling and astonished said lord what will you have me to do and the lord said unto him arise and go into the city and it shall be totally what you must do and the men which journeyed with him stood speechless hearing a voice but seeing no man and saul arose from the earth and when his eyes were opened he saw no man but they led him by the hand and brought him to damascus i want you to see trembling and astonished the word trembling there means to tremble in terror and fear totally astonished amazed in all it doesn't say just trembling it says trembling and astonished how many of you know that a conversion took place here from threatening to slaughter christians to lord what will you have me to do because the glory of god hit him and knocked him to the ground and jesus spoke to him folks that is new testament christianity is what we should be praying for and believing for that god will touch anybody that comes in this church that god will touch anybody that we go witness to the glory of god will touch them but listen the glory of god is not going to touch them he's not going to move through your life or mine if we don't have those spiritual disciplines in our life to enter in by the blood to sanctify ourselves to cleanse ourselves to to spend time in

  16. the word to spend time with the holy spirit to spend time and intercession and prayer for them we will not move into the glory unless we move through the progression of the tabernacle it is the secret of his tabernacle the secret of the tabernacle is the way to the glory of god the way to the power of god i could spend a sermon or two at least on each piece of this furniture the word of god is rich and powerful with things that it's trying to teach us go with me y'all all right i want to show you something go back to exodus i may have to find it this is just off the top of my head exodus 25 somewhere in that range exodus genesis exodus second book of the bible somebody say glory you can read about all this in exodus 25. i want to back up a second here let me see stay in 25 24 25 there you there i'm gonna have to look it up in a second but i want you to go back to this i want you to see the glory the glory of god 24. exodus 24. we're going to read starting from about verse 12 and the lord said to moses come up unto me into the mount and be there and i will give thee tables of stone and a law and commandments which i have written that thou mayest teach them and moses rose up in his minister joshua and moses went up into the mount of god then he said unto the elders tarry ye here for us until we come again behold aaron and her are with you if you have any matters to do let them come unto them and moses went up into the mount and a cloud covered the mount y'all just get picture this now okay cloud covered the mount and the glory of the lord abode upon mount sinai and the cloud covered it six days and the seventh day he called into moses out of the midst of the cloud and the sight of the glory of

  17. the lord was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of israel and moses went into the midst of the cloud and got him up into the mount and moses was in the mount forty days and 40 nights now he went up there now think about this what's god give him when he's up there two things god gives him the commandments and god gives him the pattern for this tabernacle how many of you think those two things might be important let's read on he comes down from the mountain verse chapter 25 and the lord spake unto moses saying speak unto the children of israel that they bring me an offering of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart and you shall take my offering and this is the offering which ye shall take of them gold and silver and brass and blue and purple and scarlet and fine linen and goat's hair and ram skins dyed red and badger skins and shedium wood and and oil for the for the light and spices for anointing oil for sweet incense onyx stones and stones to be set in the ephod and in the breastplate and let them make me a sanctuary that i may dwell among them according to all that i show thee after the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all the instruments there have even so shall you make it now i don't i i'm just gonna tell you this i want to tell you this how many of you believe you know moses went up there several times and walked into this cloud and walked into this glory right i can't find it right this second because i really didn't plan to go this far with this but when they completed the tabernacle and this may be in exodus 40 or something but when they completed the tabernacle when they made everything just the way god said and they did it just the way god said the bible says that the glory of god came so strong on this tabernacle that even moses could not enter into it 40 what is it 40 34. yeah turn let's read that 40 34 and then we're going to turn to one more in the new testament i'm going to show you something we're going to close 40 34. thank you sweet wife all right let's go to verse 31 though and read this and moses and aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet and when they went into the tent of the congregation and they came near unto the altar they washed as the lord commanded moses and he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar and

  18. set up the hangings of the court gate so moses finished the work you hear that moses finished the work verse 34 then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation and the glory of the lord filled the tabernacle and moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation because the cloud abode thereon and the glory of the lord filled the tabernacle that blows my mind right there that god came so strong didn't it sound like it was strong up on that mountain it was so strong with moses up there 40 days and 40 nights that he didn't have to eat that he came down and his face was glowing now think about that this glory's so strong he can't even walk into it now turn to second corinthians chapter three new testament he's talking about glory here the glory of moses in the tabernacle now let's look at look at this speaking of the law he calls it the ministration of death look at verse seven but if the ministration of death written and engraven in stones was glorious so that the children of israel could not steadfastly behold the face of moses for the glory of his countenance listen to this which glory was to be done away how shall not the ministration of the spirit speaking new testament glory life and power how shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather or more glorious for if the ministration of condemnation be glory how much more does the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory for even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect by the reason of the glory that excels for if that which is done away was glorious much more that which remains he says seeing that we have such hope we use great plainness of speech and not as moses which put a veil over his face that the children of israel cannot steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished but their minds were blinded for until this day remains the veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament which veil is done away in christ but even unto this day when moses is read the veil is upon their heart now let's keep reading nevertheless when it the heart shall turn to the lord the

  19. veil shall be taken away now this the lord is that spirit and where the spirit of the lord is there is liberty but we all with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the lord are changed into the same image from glory to glory even by the spirit of the lord so let me paraphrase this i want to read it but i want to paraphrase this he's saying very clearly the glory of this new testament we're supposed to have is greater than even the glory they had it's to me it's hard to comprehend isn't it y'all okay over there the glory is greater right but what does it say changes us that glory will change us that glory will change the world amen i can't even comprehend seeing greater glory come down than what moses had on that mountain or what happened in that tabernacle and yet the new testament church had it you could say this all of the go the goal of the new testament church ought to be to restore the glory of god to the church into the world to be a place where he can dwell among us in fullness and see what i'm just trying to preach to you about this the reason for this is that it's possible we sell ourselves short we we get to thinking you know what i pray a little bit i read a little bit i go to church a little bit i got a little bit how many people i don't know going out on the campus and witnessing at different times oh i'm good i know jesus i'm good nope the lukewarm church said i'm rich i'm increased with goods i have need of nothing no we need something amen let's pray heavenly father we thank you lord that you show us in your word the patterns you show us what we're supposed to do the way we're supposed to go lord but it's up to us if we want to go where you want to go it's up to us if you want to do lord if we if we'll do what you want us to do we want you to come lord we want you to move we want you to fill us we want you to touch our community lord as we go forth as i go forth this week lord at auburn high school as we go

  20. forth to auburn university as we go forward to the city around us as we go out into the streets and begin to preach the gospel boldly as we begin to share the word with people as we beginning and cur lord let the glory come down let the glory come down god friday morning at auburn high school holy fear holy conviction holy revelation like saul of tarsus had i pray god that everyone in the sound of my voice on that day whether not saved or backslidden or lukewarm lord that they'll be shaken by the glory and power of god i pray lord that you'll do this in all of our lives lord anoint us to be soul winners to bring change into people's lives father i pray this in jesus name hallelujah um we're gonna have communion now you
