Lord we love your presence Lord we love when you manifest your presence in our lives and our church we thank you for your presence for your peace Lord you bring refreshing to our spirit God you strengthen Us by your presence and bring joy by your presence Lord we are grateful today that we can experience your presence Lord through the blood of Jesus shed on that cross we thank you that we can worship you in spirit and the truth we thank you that we can know you not just know about me but we can know you we can know your presence we can know your spirit within our spirit bearing Witness that we are children of God we're thankful for that today Lord nothing better than to know that you are with us you are in us that you have saved us by your own blood that you have come in to dwell in our hearts and our lives Lord I hope everyone that doesn't know that can come to know that we pray this today in Jesus name amen you may be seated this morning Hallelujah praise be to God Amen I just sense a tremendous peace Joy from the Lord today feel like the Lord's giving me some things to say this morning they may be may seem to be all over the place but we're going to talk about the prophetic church this morning I really want to talk about different types of churches now sometimes because I'm not only a pastor called to be a pastor and a teacher but I'm also called to be a prophet sometimes I come across harsh I know that but that's part of it um sometimes I could probably say things a little nicer but it's generally not in my nature and that's okay because the body of Christ we're not all called to be the hands we're not all called to be the foot we're not all called to be the eyes or the mouth there's different parts of the body and there's different types of churches some are good some are bad some of them have good aspects some of them have bad good and bad aspects it's important to understand though what type of church you're in and what type of person you are it's important to
understand that um ultimately I tell people all the time um you don't get to pick where you go to church if you are a Christian you may think you need one type of church God may have another idea for you I mean when I remember when I was in my 20s I was uh fired up Street evangelist uh Holy Ghost Field tongue talking prophesying demon casting out maniac is that right Mike would it make sense would I ever in my own mind will her emotions desire to go to a dead Methodist Church no and when I say dead I'm being kind I'm we the nickname we had for the pastor was Darth Vader or Dr Death his favorite Sunday was Earth Day I'm not joking that's when he got fired up Earth Day he had to wonder was he a new Ager was he a Wiccan what happened to him in seminary I don't know but he didn't like the baptism of the Holy Spirit he didn't like anything that had to do with the Holy Spirit casting out demons tongues interpretation of tongues healing prophecy the second coming of Jesus Bible but none of that man no Earth Day we're fired up Earth Day but God made me go to that church that I didn't want to go to I had no desire to go to he made me go to it for two years not two weeks not two months two years and I am grateful to God to this day that I obeyed him and went where my emotions and my own choices and my own will didn't desire to go you understand what I'm saying the true Christian and that's what I'm getting the true Christians should seek to be led by the Holy Spirit and not their own mind or their own will or their own emotions that's the soulless Christian I preached that message we can be led by our own ideas we can be led by especially most Christians and even Pentecostals and charismatics that say they're led by the Holy Spirit most of them are really led by their emotions most people are led by their emotions this is how I feel you know we got song after song after song that says you know follow your heart follow your heart what they're talking about is your emotions how you feel about them what makes you feel good follow that
but no a born-again Christian should be praying every day father not my will but thine be done not what I want to do not what makes me comfortable not what I desire but what do you want me to do and that should go with anything where you go to church it should be about what you do with your money it should be about how you raise your kids it should be about uh you know everything everything that you do should be submitted to the will of God to the word of God first and foremost if it's clear in the word you just don't do it right the word says you don't do it you don't do it but when it comes to guidance we have to seek God for God there's no where I've I've said this many times there was nowhere in the Bible that I can find where it says Dean odle go leave Washington D.C go to Auburn Alabama and start a church so I didn't have scripture for that right I had to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and hear his voice to discern that it was him and not my own emotions not my own will not my own desire to fight through all of that and make sure it was God and then to obey when it was going to be difficult listen most of the time obedience is difficult you hear me usually God doesn't ask you to do anything that's tremendously easy because if it was easy you could do it in your own strength and you wouldn't need him and that's why a lot of times he asks you to do things go places say things um to do difficult things and then to ask him for the grace and the strength and the power to do it amen if you if you sit back and say you know what I can't do that I don't know if I can do that that's a pretty good place to be because then you have to ask for God's help um and this is a subject I guess within this church I've touched on a number of times because all churches are not going to be the same and that doesn't mean that they're bad I know sometimes I may give the impression that I'm trying to put down another church now some of them aren't bad they're horrible right but different is not always bad you know what I'm saying now we're going to talk about I'm going to get to the prophetic church here in a minute but the lord gave me a list and this is by no means exhaustive I I probably could write 50 of these but we don't have time for that today right well these are a few that I just felt we needed to address and you need to understand you're going to get tickled out of these things I've been in the church now since I was five years old I'm 47. going on 48. so it's been a long time
I started out in the Pentecostal Assembly of God Church went to the Baptist Church spent time in the Methodist Church went back to the Assembly of God Church went to the charismatics and I've been around the block a few times been around big churches and small churches famous preachers nobodies Africa the Indian Ocean the Middle East so what I'm saying is what I'm about to tell you today has come from over 30 years of experience and observation all right so I'm not going to try I'm not trying to hurt anybody's feelings if I name your former denomination or your present denomination or truth because we have people listening to we have people that are Baptists listening to us and methodists and Presbyterian all over the world really um so if I offend you um good you probably need to be offended all right but I'm just going to tell the truth all right let me pull up my list here okay I don't mind this do you we're going to talk about something in a minute too you might want to look this up on Wikipedia to pull this up cognitive dissonance we're going to look that up in just a second because it's really a big problem in the church I know it's a psychological term but we'll Define it in just a minute all right let me I had to email it to myself so let me go ahead here we go all right different types of churches now we're going to get to the prophetic church at the end what a prophetic church is all right Apostolic prophetic Church um but let's go through a little list of churches here I've got 16 I think let's see yes 16. the prophetic church will be the 16th church so number one type of church out there I call the Salvation only that's all they know I mean that's all they preach I went to one of those I went to this little Baptist Church when I was 11 12 years old and that's that's all they knew I mean they could preach you must be born again they can preach that Jesus died on that cross while your sins rose from the dead but you have to confess him before men to be saved they had Romans 10 9 down pat that if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus believe in your heart that God has raising from the dead you shall be saved and if you come down the aisle and pray this prayer and shake the preacher's hand you're saved once down forever I mean that's what they preach and they preach it every kind of different way they didn't preach on the baptism the Holy Spirit they didn't preach on the gifts of the Spirit they didn't preach on healing they didn't preach on uh much about the end times every now and then a little bit but that was always pre-trib raptured not to lie always but what I'm getting at was they did one thing pretty well I mean I got saved in that church when I was uh
11 years old powerfully touched by God when I went down that altar to walk down to that altar to get saved so I'm not putting them down I'm just telling you that's the type of church that is exact is out there they'll they'll they'll talk about salvation they'll find a hundred million ways to talk about getting saved because they have to do it every Sunday and every Wednesday and some of them every Sunday night and they amaze me and people do get saved in their church now they do make some false convert right and here's the negative side I mean the positive side of the Salvation only churches at least you might be able to get saved there like I do but you will not grow much past that huh you'll get planted in the pot and you'll Sprout up your little you'll be a little sprout but you're not going to grow much because there's more to Christianity than just being born again I praise God for any church that preaches that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven and that you must be born again that you must you must believe in his death he's atoning death on the cross and his resurrection from the dead and you must commit your life to him and you must confess him as Lord I praise God for that I really do I praise God for that little Baptist Church that made an impact on my life when I was very young but they also made a negative impact on my father who was trying to grow Beyond just salvation so if you're in a Salvation only church hey praise God for that church if God God says for you to stay in that church you stay in that church and you be a blessing in that church and you try to help them I tried to help that little Methodist Church I went through moved a little further but they didn't want to so they asked me to leave and I did I'm surprised they took them two years to ask me to leave but they just couldn't hand me hand me standing up and prophesying in church anymore or calling out sin or praying for people in on the back row and then getting healed of cancer it couldn't take any more of that so they gave me as Kennedy Hagen be saved the left foot of Fellowship I would literally ask by the pastor to leave the church standing at the threshold of the door you know what I did exactly what he said to do I picked my shoes up I didn't wipe the best of them all and in fact I said thank you I'm free now yeah but you're not so you have the Salvation only all right those tend to be basically your Baptist Churches can be some Methodist some independent non-denominational that still are bad just because they believe everything they just decided they didn't want to be in the denomination but they still believe all the same things number two type of church out there is the daycare center
the daycare center now Bay care centers are needful they're good um daycare center usual daycare center they want to get as many kids as they can because that's more dollar bills but then you got a problem is because you've got to figure out activities to keep all these different little children happy they're not really focused daycare centers are not really focused on going deep in doctrinal things or deep into truth and preaching Bible preaching they just they're big on activities they're big on programs they're big on you know we've got to herd the cats and their mentality really is if we if we if we you know we if we keep making if we got fun activities for everybody and everything maybe some of them will stay and that's fine and dandy let me tell you some churches that are like that that's what some people need some people are more social animals than others and so there are some people some Christians that need a lot of social activities a lot of cookouts and a lot of barbecues and a lot of marshmallows and lots of this and a lot of that and again that's fine and dandy that'll work for a while but again in a daycare center once you get pretty old they don't want you coming back and I found that out with Hunter sometimes a lot of these churches that are really really focused their focus is programs and activities and things of that nature the people who want to grow and go deeper begin to get more and more dissatisfied and so what happens to a lot of these program daycare center oriented churches a lot of people don't grow and mature and the ones that do finally just they they either get pushed out because they're they're coming too mature or they finally say I've got to find somewhere that I can grow up because listen activities fellowships social things they're great they're great for a moment but they're not going to really make you grow spiritually they're not going to deal with your issues they're not going to get the demons out of you they're not going to get you to deal with your sin they're not going to get you they're going to fulfill a social need that you have a fellowship but they're not really going to fulfill what I believe is the main purpose of the church I'll get to that in a minute the primary purpose of the church but again even those churches some of them are good and and mean well and have good people in them some of them are not some of them are so program oriented they're they're Perpetual youth groups is what they are they're a constant Consular party pizza party and you just don't grow
it's fun but it's not about spiritual growth and depth and conviction okay that's not their focus so that's number two the daycare center number three the foster parent the foster parents you know foster parents are there and they're really a good thing we need foster parents foster parents meet a need in society because you have children out there younger children that lose their parents for some reason they they die they get killed in a car accident they they just or they get into you know bad lifestyle of drugs or whatever and and so the children need someone to step in and to be that parent to care for them and to protect them and so on so being a foster parent's a good thing and especially for people that lose you know children that lose their parents and then foster parents also try to take care of troubled teens who like to run away and may be on drugs themselves alcohol got in trouble getting out of you know Juvenile Detention and things like that so there's a good side of churches that really focus in on being there for someone in crisis you know and I when we when we move that over to the church world I'm talking about like like we came here actually we came here and we kind of fulfilled that for a little while because the church that you guys were in the pastor ended up in an affair with multiple women and the church began to fall apart and basically you kind of lost your spiritual parents and and so when we came here there was kind of a group wondering around around is kind of like spiritual orphans and they liked a lot of things about their former church but it was all gone down the tubes and so we came here and a number of those people that came out of that church came to our church and we had a lot of you know healing and you know re-working of some things and dealing with that issue and dealing with you know so there's there's a good side of that but the bad side is you know you can have bad foster parents and a foster parent situation too is not usually not all the times but usually not to be permanent right and so there are some churches that are really just geared to helping people in there in a crisis moment but they're not really good again at getting you to grow up spiritually they can only kind of deal with you for a time and once you get healed they don't know what to do with you once they get you over the crisis they don't know what to do with you anymore they don't know how to get you filled with the Holy Spirit or they don't know how to get you delivered from demons or
they don't know how to get you into the deeper things of the word of God and so again they're they're not not always there some of them can some of them will do good and bring some to maturity some won't you know what I'm saying so the foster parents and again when I say this I'm not trying to be bad talk bad about certain I'm just telling you these are the kind of churches that are out there these are kind of Pastors in the way they Minister the way they focus and again these can be a foster parent church can be really good or it could be really bad a daycare center can be really as good as it can be as a daycare center or it can be that um let's go to the next one and this is similar except this deals with your what I call the rehab center the rehab center we have one of those here they're focused huh not at our church but in our town they're focused on drug addicts homeless people um really trying to help people coming out of prison uh yeah I mean and again unnecessary Ministry that the church needs and not every church can do that so we need rehab centers they'll have Addiction Counseling they'll usually they might let AAA meetings in their place you know what I'm saying they will have you know licensed counselors come in and try to help people that are you know some have been sexually abused some of them have been on heroin or cocaine and and you know David wilkerson's Ministry that he started Teen Challenge was a great ministry it was a rehab Ministry okay um great ministry needful Ministry but again the problem is you can't counsel out a demon psychology doesn't get rid of demons and again with any rehab Ministry after you get the addiction broken maybe or you get them out of of a bad situation and they break away from bad influences and bad friends or you know or they transition out of prison and get a job and you know are you are you really able are you in are you strong enough in sound Doctrine and deliverance are you strong enough to really get them healed and delivered and growing up spiritually you notice how I keep coming back to that are you growing up spiritually are you maturing spiritually are you getting filled with the Holy Spirit are you getting freed from the Demonic strongholds in your past are you growing in Grace and in the knowledge of the word of God are you growing into a
mature man are you being filled and anointed are you setting other people free are you leading other people to Jesus are you are you maturing is your knowledge of the word of God expanding and growing if these Ministries can say yes that's happening for sure Deliverance Freedom healing maturity then I guess they're on the good side of this coin but that's not always the case some of these Ministries again that they they're not strong and disciplined and so troubled people living in the same places in the sexually getting involved with each other and all kind of problems and you know again if you don't if you don't cast the demons out of people you're never going to see lasting change Deliverance Ministry has got to be a huge part of any church or you're going to keep counseling demons instead of casting them out all right y'all enjoying that you learning something all right so that was number four the rehab center number five the Peace Corps social workers the Peace Corps social social worker Church these are the churches that are really really just focused in let's do something in the community let's go fix Grandma Baker's rotten wood around her Windows let's go start a soup kitchen let's go you know let's serve and again not making fun of that needful Ministry needful aspect in the church but there's a problem see I had some people in this church early on and their whole what what made them feel good was serving they wanted to serve somehow somebody they wanted to do something and it was a tremendous blessing for a while because that wanting to serve and do something I mean they wanted to go out and and help you know in a Ministry that helped uh Down syndrome and uh let me get the correct politically correct term um what's the word um handicapped is bad now mentally you don't say that anymore it's learning disabled you know they want to go out and you know play softball and and minister to you know and again not make that is wonderful but the problem is is that that was such a big thing in their life they ignored everything else
they ignored their need for marital counseling to get their marriage in order um to get some false teaching from a former church out of their lives to get a fence out of their lives and they never would follow through with going through deliverance and getting the demons from all that up they wanted to serve and they ended up leaving our church because they got mad because we confronted the problem within their marriage that needed to get in order and because also um we didn't really have a lot of opportunity for them to do something like like the kids or and so because they didn't have a place to serve and they didn't want to confront their issue and grow up they had to leave they had to go find a church where they could serve and so I called them the Peace Corps social workers and I love them but to this day they're mad at us and won't speak to us and have anything to do with even though we were very close for a while and they were a great blessing to us that's what I'm saying is you need those type of Christians you need those type of churches but again if those type of churches won't confront sin and they won't deal with the problems and they won't deal with the demons and they won't deal with the deeper things of the word of God and grow up spiritually too see they've got to have that in their lives or the social work the service the good works you want to do aren't going to cure you you didn't hear me a lot of people listen a lot of people think that in the church world if if I just get into church and become a deacon or an usher or if I can help with the children or if I can do something if I can serve some way that's going to fix me no you're helping the church and that's a blessing but it will not fix your problems if you won't confront your sin and your demons and your neglect of God's word and your neglected prayer if you want if you won't do the things you got to do to grow spiritually what you're doing is you're giving yourself a religion vaccination you're getting a little dose of religion to make you feel good about yourself oh but see a lot of people like that they think well I'm a good person I help the I help these poor children these Down syndrome children or I go and you know visit the elderly and I go to the nursing home and I go you know and they they think I'm a good person because I serve and I do these things no that's a good thing it doesn't make you a good person it doesn't make you a free person it doesn't make you a healed person it doesn't make you a spiritually mature Christian you hear what I'm saying so that's the Peace Corps social workers
anybody know what I'm talking about there are churches that this is all they focus on that it's really called The Social Gospel they don't a lot of these churches that are are deeply into the social gospel only believe really that what Jesus talked about taking care of the poor feeding the hungry things of that nature they think that is salvation they think that's how you get saved basically and that becomes everything and often and really they a lot of them end up in complete error a lot of them don't believe that there's a hell they don't preach the gospel that you have to repent of sin and Jesus is the only way and but they they really believe their social gospel of good works and helping the poor um basically they're Christian communists but it's going to backfire on them because you must walk in the truth I'm going to read that here in a second all right so the Peace Corps social workers here's one of my favorites number six the mcchurch franchise the Mac Church franchise okay the mcchurch franchise they're big they're corporate they have titles like executive pastor oh CEO pastor they usually have one campus that becomes multiple campuses that all look the same some of them can be good some of them can be bad you know you can actually get a meal from McDonald's that will keep you alive for a little bit but if you eat too much of that fast food anybody saw the what was the thing the 30 days the guy did Supersize Me wasn't that it the guy that did the experiment of eating eating at McDonald's every meal for 30 days oh he had serious health issues the problem is that the focus is just like McDonald's it's to get as many customers as possible is to get as many people as possible it's to reproduce this thing the mass reproduce it and to get the little your little Happy Meals out just as fast as they can and they give you a little prize in the Happy Meal and they make you feel good before you go home and there's three songs and a 30 minute message and you're you're out you get a fast food you get a Happy Meal most of these type of churches though again the same problem you don't really get the depth you don't really get convicting of sin preaching you don't get the focus on the baptism of the Holy Spirit the gifts of the Holy Spirit you don't get the need of
Deliverance and casting out demons you don't get the things that you need because if they go deeper they're going to lose customers because the customers that come like to make Church Happy Meal a lot Christian Light they like it that way now some of these churches can be good what I call transitional churches for Baptist and methodists kind of help them out of the old traditional ways first step of freedom from like a Salvation only church you know I mean there's a lot of people that think that they have gone into the deep water at a mcchurch franchise Church simply because now they don't sing from a hymn book they think they're God they are deep Christians now right but that is a step for some that's a huge step to change to break away from tradition and from an old rut it's a big step that's kind of you that's what y'all went through it's a big step for some and that's okay again these churches have their place and their purpose if they actually preach the gospel Don't Preach complete error and heresy okay I mean you've got the Spectrum and I could just say it you've got the Spectrum I would say on on a good side like the Highlands church and then you've got the bad side of that Spectrum like Joel Osteen Lakewood Church see what I'm saying again the highlands they minister to some people they help some people but I couldn't go there it drive me crazy because I need a little more meat on the plate I don't eat at McDonald's it does not satisfy me I'd have to be dying in a desert and that was the only meal available that's how I feel about it but for some people again where they came from that's a huge step forward you get what I'm saying because we all should be growing what happens to a plant that starts out in a little pot and never moves to another pot it's going to get what's called root bound it might be alive a Happy Meal will keep you alive but you're not going to grow not a lot y'all don't mind I'm not hurting anybody's feelings am I trying to be nice and diplomatic this morning see how nice number seven they start getting worse as we go along number seven is the Hipster loose hipster loose
the Hipster loose you know they love skinny jeans 50 year old pastors wearing skinny jeans your latest designer Christian t-shirt so they can make sure you see their tattoos [Music] these churches are so cool I mean they're just cool they got their own Christian Heavenly bucks coffee shop um the service is smooth man light show perfect and Beyond in the background go with whatever's happening but these churches the reason I say hipster loose is because a lot of them have bought into both the Seeker sensitive philosophy of ministry and the hyper Grace idea and a lot of these churches they look hip they look slick they sound like a Christian church but they never really confront sin fornication I'll be rampant in the church homosexuality be rampant in the church um a good example of of a church that I would say fits this to a t would be Hillsong New York they're afraid to take a stand against homosexuality they got the Illuminati symbolism all over the place full of tattoos you never hear a clear message and if you ever do confront something that sin or Hell or you start getting on the stuff that's hard to take what do they do immediately they start talking about Grace but again their idea of Grace is that they can do what they want God to cover it that God so God so much a god of love and grace if they can do whatever they want they can get as many tattoos as they want as Devils and skulls and the symbols of the you know the symbol symbols of the god Odin people everybody thinks that that Trinity Tattoo represents the Trinity of God no it's an ancient symbol from Norse mythology of the god Odin that demanded Human Sacrifice that the Norse and the Vikings worship and as Christians got that tattoo on them this is what I'm saying hipster loose Anything Goes we're going to be so secret sensitive man you can you could come in here and do a voodoo ritual and you're welcome all are welcome Come As You Are flip-flop Sunday literally
one of the churches I'm speaking of here flip-flop Sunday well guess what I don't care any Sunday as long as you're fully clothed you want to wear flip-flops wear flip-flops who makes a big deal out of that flip-flops I think oh Jesus can you see somebody one of the Apostles saying Lord we need to have flip-flops hunting these are like I wear sandals every day all right you know we need to have Roman boots Sunday Jesus that's what we need we need to get us some Roman boots like the Roman soldiers we'll wear those on Sunday that'll get the Romans to come it's all about nickels and noses with hipster losing uh oh it's really the motivation in a lot of places nickels and noses all right because let me tell you something preaching the truth runs people off number eight I kind of covered this one kind of jumped ahead of myself but I call it contemporary transitional these are just your churches that think that it's a big thing that they don't think from the hymn book the big thing that wow they don't have Sunday night service we've taken a leap away from tradition but again good and needful for some people to take that step that's like some of these uh that's why you see most the First Methodist Church here in Auburn I hear their commercials all the time we have a traditional service we have our traditional service we have our Contemporary Service I mean all right dude I understand trying to be all things to all people do you preach the gospel that's what I want to know do you preach anything that has any depth or any meat or any conviction of sin or anything I don't think so but for some people who've been stuck in traditional religion Christian religion old-time tradition and God's trying to get them to grow sometimes that's a good thing but again sometimes that's a bad thing what do they say about people try to be the Jack of all trades master of nothing except for Kevin he's the exception there's always an exception all right number nine emotional Pentecostal
I'm well acquainted with these folks I used to call their services Pentecostal pep rallies now I love my Pentecostal brothers and sisters I am Pentecostal I am not ashamed of it I'm proud of it it is biblical to be Pentecostal but there are Pentecostals out there who are driven by their emotions and they're so driven by their emotions and they're so driven by their own traditions for instance I've been in churches where it was just traditional I mean for when the music Started everybody ran to the altar to dance around now I don't have a problem with that but I just don't feel like that the Lord was motivating all the same people to do the same thing every same Sunday you know every Sunday the altar calls were usually exactly the same every Sunday emotional weeping please I'm sorry it's okay to weep and it's okay to have any emotional service but I don't know how you manufacture that every Sunday I've had I've seen it man come on stop the same people doing the same stuff every Sunday and they leave the Altar and they go back to sleep with their boyfriend or girlfriend the fornication you adopted the pornography the alcohol but they're at the altar and if the preacher preaches the same way I tell you God he if that's the way it's happening every Sunday something is being manufactured emotional y'all know what about y'all laughing out here but you know what I'm talking about there's no way I mean you got a preacher if he's doing that every time he preaches he is a Showman hey I've been around the block a few times I can't help it and someone can do is you can do the chickens chicken head come on now I've seen him walk the tops of the pew there was a guy named brother Leon anybody remember brother Leon from around here you remember brother Leon now that joker was Pentecostal all the time Pentecost they asked him to preach at Pine Grove United Methodist Church one time and poor up poor people one time because old brother Leon he ran I remember he ran he started he said the

individuals doctorate in Divinity theology eschatology missiology they're so educated it's frightening right nothing wrong with education if it's correct but these are the ones who really don't have the Holy Spirit they're not open to the baptism of the Holy Spirit they have philosified him away is not being not not being relevant so they don't really go into the deeper things they've got their set things but they love to get up and and speak and use words that most people do not understand you have you know a good side of this I mean there's people like Ravi Zacharias who appeal and minister to people who are very intellectual and very educated uh people like C.S Lewis who ministered to atheists and intellectuals but they're not even Ravi Zacharias and and C.S Lewis were not without their problem I mean they become so brain oriented so academic oriented there's no Spirit Led Ministry there and a lot of these academic philosophers really don't believe the Bible is the inspired word of God they bought into the biblical criticism of the late 1800s and early 1900s and the wrong translations and of the Bible and they just bought it a lot of them don't believe there's a there's a hell they don't some of them don't even believe there's a heaven some of them are universalists um but they're philosophy they're Plato is the way they get their jollies from people in and on over their big words and their education and their degrees but they're empty shelves most of them not all but most of them are not full of the Holy Ghost and Fire I love what was said about Peter in John Acts chapter 5. to when the Pharisees recognized that they were unlearned men like Mark they marveled at their boldness they marveled they marveled at Jesus knowledge of the scriptures which Jesus hadn't been to their schools Jesus didn't have their their doctoral of divinity degrees but Jesus knew the Bible Jesus knew the scriptures because Jesus had the Holy Spirit without measure Jesus was was preaching at 12 years old he was confounding these academic philosophers Pharisees and Sadducees he was confounding them at 12 years old why because he had the Holy
Ghost let me tell you something education is fine but when you have the author of the book living in you with fullness and fire and power he can reveal to you teach you and speak through you anything that's in that book and he can take you into the deeper things of God and you can have the knowledge of God and the knowledge of the scriptures I don't want education without the Holy Ghost I don't want information without power behind it anointing behind it you can hear these guys talk and most of us even those of us who went to college sit there and go what are they talking about I read a book recently like that I'm like Lord you don't have to take this up to doctoral level and make it almost inaccessible a majority of people who would like to read your book and understand what you're saying well Paul talked about the trumpet must give a clear sound so people understand that's why some of the greatest preachers and evangelists and Ministers of all time were the ones who made it the most simple made the truth of the Bible the most simple the most easy to understand they were the most effective people grew people got saved people got filled with the Holy Spirit people got delivered people got changed under their teaching and preaching because they made it where people could understand and they would seek God in prayer and have the anointing and they would have the Holy Spirit on them so people would grow believe me we are going to turn to a scripture in just a second this is unusual for me number 13. look at second round three but I bring up that because of all you're turning there apostles the apostles let me tell you what makes an apostle different from a prophet or an evangelist or a pastor or teacher you may have a man or a woman called to be a teacher and called to be a prophet you're going to have sometimes you have multiple you have mixes sometimes a person's just a pure evangelist sometimes they're just a pure pastor that's their gift but an apostle was different because an apostle apostle was like he's like the contractor had to know everything he wasn't a subcontract see the profits pastors evangelists teachers they're kind of like the subcontractors but the apostle Paul said it he was a wise master builder I mean he was an architect of the church he's one of the Architects to help lay the foundation write out the blueprint now that's that was for the original apocryph a lot of people say well the the gift of apostle ended with them no it didn't but the difference between the only difference with even a modern day Apostle is an apostle is also all of the others an apostle is everything he's a prophet he's an evangelist he's a pastor he's a teacher he's a church planner but the focus of a an apostle and a prophet is to hear from God to lay down sound Doctrine and to keep you from being deceased that's what we're we're supposed to be about all right now I read that I just quoted that but Ephesians 4 he said the apostles prophets Advanced pastors teachers so that you will not be children tossed to and fro you won't stay in daycare you won't stay a little baby you won't keep sucking milk you won't keep hunting entertainment emotional Christianity that you will finally grow up and not not be children anymore who have to be entertained or teenagers who can't can't keep their attention on anything but a video game you hear what I'm saying people who grow up spiritually become responsible you know what I'm saying a prophetic Church an Apostolic prophetic Church is going to be concerned with the truth that you'll be no more children tossed to and fro with every wind of Doctrine now in the Epistle of second John he says this now John was both an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ and a prophet he gave us the Book of Revelation a prophetic revelation of the second coming of Jesus but this is what he said The Second Epistle of John verse 1 chapter 1 verse one he said the Elder
unto the elect lady that's to the church and her children whom I love in the truth and not I only also all they that have known the truth for the truth sake which dwelleth in us shall be with us forever Grace be with you mercy and peace from God the father and from the Lord Jesus Christ the son of the father in Truth and Love look what he said in verse 4 I Rejoice greatly that I found of thy children walking present tense Greek verb continuous ongoing presently walking in the truth as we received a commandment from the father now we beseech thee lady not as though I wrote a new commandment unto you but that which we have had from the beginning that you love one another and this is love that we walk after his commandment notice he didn't say just the Commandment is love he said love is to walk after God's Commandments God's word to walk in the truth of God's word sound Doctrine it's so important to this Apostle this Prophet John he said I Rejoice greatly when I see the church and her children walking in the truth continually walking in the truth that's what brought joy to him that's what brought peace to him that's what made him feel like Hey we're getting we're getting the job done when you're walking in the truth when you're walking in sound Doctrine when you're walking and Discerning the good from the evil and the faults from the real when you're growing up and you don't need a pastor to be your babysitter or your daycare worker and trust me if you go to this church you ain't getting that I am not a babysitter and I am not a daycare worker I'm going to feed you and you better grow up are you hitting the street all right that's the way it is but anyway he said he Rejoice greatly and then he goes on to say why did he Rejoice greatly that he saw his children and the the children of the church walking in the truth he said for many deceivers verse seven many deceivers are entered into the world and confess not that Jesus Christ Has Come In the Flesh this is a deceiver and an antichrist he says here he gives them the instruction look to yourselves or pay attention to what you do that you lose not the things which you have brought in that you receive a full reward now listen to what he said whosoever transgresses and abide is not in the doctrine of Christ hath not God he that abideth and the doctrine of Christ have both the father and the son if therefore or if there come any unto you and bring not this Doctrine receive him not into your house neither bid him God's speed for he that bideth him God's speed is partaker of his evil Deeds now here's a prophet saying I rejoice greatly that you're walking in the truth and the truth is that you walk after his commandment and if you're walking in love meaning you're walking after God's
commandment don't tell me you're walking in love but you don't want to obey God's word no no you're not walking in love because you're being a bad example and you're causing other people to stumble so don't tell me you're walking in love if you don't obey God's word all right because you're not but he says here that Doctrine is such an important issue that if anybody comes to you claiming to be a Christian claiming to be a pastor a teacher a minister but they do not bring the doctrine or the teaching of Jesus Christ the pure teaching of the scripture when I and until when I say Jesus it's not just Jesus is not just New Testament folks Jesus is the word he's the Eternal Word of God he is the low God he is the Eternal Word before he became incarnate in a human body he's always been the word and that means Old Testament and New Testament and that's why the word of God is living and Powerful it's alive it's breathing it's God breathes it's so intertwined with Jesus both Old Testament knew you can't separate him from you can't separate Jesus from the written word of God but he says here if anybody comes to you and they do not bring the pure doctrine of this book do not even let them in your house and do not bless their work I don't care if they got Baptists across their name or Methodist or Pentecostal or charismatic or Roman Catholic if they're bringing to you something that God taught against in his word or they're bringing to you something that Jesus didn't teach if they say there's no hell you're not supposed to even let them in your house if they say you can pray to Mary you're not even supposed to let them in your house oh bless the pope no I don't bless the Pope he's a devil a deceiver a false prophet comes in the Name of Christ but he does not bring the doctrine of Christ that means he does not have God he doesn't even know God at all for if he knew God he would rejoice and he would only want the children of God to walk in the truth of God's word the Catholic Church doesn't even want people to read God's word a lot of your churches around here don't want you to read it either because they'll you'll figure them you'll figure them out you know I'm working on an article right now about the pre-trib Rapture Doctrine and I state I was doing a dangerous thing back in the early I mean the late 1980s very dangerous I was fasting all the time and studying
the Bible eight nine ten hours a day that's why I don't fit in most of those churches that I made because I read the book and I studied the book and I studied history and Archeology and prophecy and I studied their foolish doctrines and their foolish beliefs and I compared them to what the Bible said and I found out most of them do not bring the doctrine of Christ the truth the sound doctrine of the word of God to you I know that sounds harsh Jesus said you'll be baptized with the Holy Ghost and when the 120 were baptized in the Holy Ghost they spoke in tongues and prophesied if some man says that's not true that's not for today that didn't happen or it's not going to happen for you is that the doctrine of Jesus Christ ouch now God's merciful a lot of us weren't walking in the truth and God had to keep nudging us along and there's some of those people that God is going to nudge along and bring them out of that deception and error and bring them out of these dead churches and day care centers and everything else but is that in the book see we don't like this stuff out here I'll talk to Jehovah Witnesses Mormons I should see Joel Osteen said you know when Mitt Romney was running for president that the Mormons were Christians now that boy yes I said boy because he ain't a man he might be one biologically but mentally and spiritually something is wrong because if you sit there and you say that Mormon's a Christian Mormons do not believe there is a hell they do not believe Jesus Christ is God In the Flesh they believe Jesus and God I mean Jesus and Lucifer are brothers that's blasphemy you hear what I'm saying I will talk to them when they knock on my door I've had them knock on my door many times Mormon and Jehovah Witnesses do I ever invite him in my house when I make them mad and they leave do I say bless you yeah matter of fact I told them I do not bless you in what you're doing because you're deceivers but I will speak the truth to them but Focus not only the Mormons and the Jehovah Witnesses and the Roman

teach you on Sunday to walk in the truth than to be there every time you want me to kiss your boo-boos and pray for your hangnail I can't always do it and let me just say this the Apostle Paul started churches I started churches for many years if you want a pastor that's going to have it you know children's programs and youth services and and then you better come up with a whole lot more money because I have to work another job too you know what I'm saying but that's that's I'm not against those things we're going to do some of those things in fact the Lord told me this morning praying that we're going to start a Friday night communion and prayer service we're going to have communion we're going to pray and then whatever the Lord says to do if it turns into a Bible study if it turns into praying for each other but we're going to start I don't know if it's going to be every Friday or every other Friday or something like that but the Lord told me so we're going we're going to do something we're going to fix this room real soon and get all the guys together and we can get in here and fix this room but hear what I'm saying we are and I don't mean this in any prideful manner we are a prophetic Church we're not Mac Church we're not the rehab Church we're not the daycare center and they all have their place but so do we you understand where the rehab Church may be the hand we're the I excuse me or as Kevin said the fist the hand and the clothing the hammer but that's doesn't listen to me that's what God has called us to be that's the church you're in and I just wanted to remind you of that we're not a program oriented Church we're not a we're never going to be that because that's not our Focus our our focus is John the best and I love it you know what I think it was the first time was it did the Lord tell you that or did remember one of the first time when you said you were trying to tell some of your family or Paul's family who who was it that said it wasn't you stop yeah and that was the Holy Spirit showing you what kind of ministry what kind of church I mean
I'm just saying we're not the literal John the Baptist or Elijah or anything like that it's not what I'm saying that's just the type or the style that's the focus and you know no sugar going yeah and so that's what I want to say to you is again Beware of the devil making you dissatisfied now if God ever calls you speaks to you and says you're to go somewhere else I understand God moves his people sometimes I'm fine with that if it's the Lord but if it's just your emotions or it's just your need for something just make sure you hear from God I thought you mean even you you need to be sure okay that's why I mean I know it's inevitable every church is going to have people transferred from one Church to another and actually some of that is that healthy in the church world you know why I love the verse Psalm 92 . turn to that this will be the last one I promise oh yeah well my wife reminded me just you can read Psalm 92 the verse I can't remember which verse it is in the psalm but he says those that be planted in the house of the Lord will flourish and the courts the Hebrew word there is shavao and it means to be literally in the Hebrew it it means to be transplanted and it does mean sometimes God where he places us in one place and we grow there and then he transplants us to another but it has to be the Lord he's the gardener not me not you he's the gardener all right so I said those that be planted or transplanted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God they shall still bring forth fruit in old age they shall be fat and flourishing the word fact there is they'll be Anointed with oil so I'm just saying don't take changing churches lightly that's what I thought just be now let me go to this let me let me go back to cognitive dissonance because this applies this this is wine let me understand I know a lot of you have invited people to come to church or maybe they've listened to Sunday morning or they've heard certain things and they're scared to death you wonder why you have such a hard time getting people to come to a prophetic church that's not a charismatiac church or whatever you got that definition
most of our society particularly American society and American Church world are suffering from this psychological mental problem called cognitive dissonance okay and what this is it says in Psychology cognitive dissonance is the mental stress or discomfort experienced by an individual who holds two or more contradictory beliefs ideas or values at the same time or they are confronted by new information that conflicts with existing beliefs Leon festinger's theory of cognitive dissonance focus on how humans strive for internal consistency an individual who experiences inconsistency dissonance tends to become psychologically uncomfortable and is motivated to try to reduce this dissonance or this uncomfortable problem as well as activity to avoid situations and to avoid information likely to increase it see a prophetic church as Marlene put there's no sugar coating it and in this church and in a prophetic church just like with John the Baptist and others you get information that contradicts former beliefs like when I started teaching you about Christians can have demons or you're not once saved always saved no matter how you live or yes the baptism of the holy spirit's for today and for everyone these some of you have belief systems internal belief system that have been confronted with the truth of scripture and what you initially experienced is this cognitive dissonance this mental stress or discomfort when your new information comes in and it conflicts with your old information and most people as this says will not overcome that they will run from that I think about the Pharisees came out to meet John the Baptist and it says they were not baptized by him they did not receive him but all the people took it so there were people who received John the Baptist message but the ones who had strong belief systems that were wrong but religious belief systems they couldn't let go of it and see this is why you know I know and in the end of days ahead there's going to be more and more shocking information come to you there's going to be more and more uncomfortable information I mean how many of you felt or and even still feel uncomfortable when you when you hear about what's going on in the Middle East with ISIS killing and beheading and raping Christian both children and adults I
mean does that make you feel knowing that those people are in our country and flooding into our country but see that's true now that truth may make you cause you mental stress and and discomfort but that's what cognitive dissonance is now the Christian has to overcome this because we are supposed to be Seekers of the truth whatever the truth is you get what I'm saying so to be in a prophetic Church you need to realize and recognize when you begin to have cognitive dissonance or discomfort because of new and disturbing information that's the truth Seeker sensitive churches churches focused on programs and entertainment they seek also to make sure that you're not made uncomfortable I was like Kevin for instance I won't name the church but he called a particular Church in our area just to find out what they believe on the once they've always saved doctors they would not answer his question they would not give a clear-cut answer yes we believe this or no we don't and the reason is they have trained themselves that might cause they may not say it in these words but that might cause this caller we don't know who you know they didn't know who Kevin was so he says they might it might cause this caller some some some problems we don't know which side he's on we don't know what to say and if we say the opposite of what he believes then it's going to cost him some discomfort and he may not come to our church so they avoid this discomfort problem you see the sad thing about it is you cannot be a prophetic Church and yet try to avoid making people uncomfortable the two that's why I've spoken so clearly over the years about the secret sensitive philosophy of ministry is diametrically opposed to the true Ministry of the church because our goal is not to see how many people how many nickels and noses we can get Under One Roof the goal is to speak the truth no matter how discomfortable or disconcerting or uncomfortable it may be because what I'm finding out listen the more truth that this ministry continues to speak I'm finding out the people who are overcoming this cognitive dissonance who are hungry for the truth that want to know the truth so that they can learn to trust God and get strong in the Lord
are hungry so just remember that true Christian Ministry Church Ministry preaching teaching the goal of the church to comfort The Afflicted afflict yes and how many of you know a doctor sometimes he can't bring healing in your body until he cuts on you so he's got to inflict some pain to fix the problem but his goal is to heal you and that's what I'm saying the prophetic Church doesn't ignore the tumor we will cut the tumor out and then we'll sew you up and we'll pray for you to be healed amen a lot of these other places a lot of these other churches they don't want to cut you they want to Pat the tumor they want to Hope it'll go away they don't want to cause you any discomfort no pain no stitches but that is not a prophetic Church amen now in the days ahead I do believe this a lot of churches these that I named some of them are on the fence and they're going to be forced to move one way or the other they will be forced by by surely by what's happening that they will be forced to pick which way they're going they will they will the pressure about homosexuality will become so great they will choose to either take their stand or they will choose to compromise and only and then that's on everything the mark of the beast everything that's coming now I got to share this real quick somebody text me a word and then we'll close this is from Patrick he said this came to me as you were preaching this word and it's from The Book of Revelation this is it's just a scripture he said the Lord really gave us to him and impressed this upon so we're going to read this and he says here I testify unto every man to Hearth the words of the prophecy of this book If any man shall add unto these things God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book and if any man shall take away the words of the book of this prophecy God shall take away his part out of the book of life and out of the holy city and from the things which are written in this book revelation 22 18-19
and I got another one for you Revelation 19 says this and I believe it's verse 10. think about this the testimony of Jesus meaning the true presentation speaking evidence of Jesus Christ look up that word testimony he says the testimony of Jesus Christ if you're speaking about him in truth is the spirit of Prophecy again you cannot separate prophecy the prophetic nature the prophetic whatever you want to say flavor you can't separate that from Jesus how many of you remember he's called The Prophet Jesus is the apostle and high priest of our profession right he was the prophet a prophet he even said of his own self a prophet is not when he went to Nazareth the prophet is not received in his own house and among his own they called him the great teacher the greatest of all teachers so he was a teacher they called him the shepherd right and of course he was the Evangelist because he is the one that brought us the gospel to save us amen Jesus fulfilled all five he's the apostles the prophet the evangelists the pastor the teacher and the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of Prophecy the folks let me tell you a prophetic Church may not meet all your needs may not give you all your wants but they give you what you need how many of you told your children I'm not going to give you everything you want but I I will provide for you what you need amen all right let's pray hallelujah thank you Father father we come to you today and we thank you for your word and we thank you for your truth and we thank you Lord for the body of Christ Lord we know there are many out there they're different they have different Focus different callings but Lord we're all called to be prophetic in nature I pray a lot of the churches that have been leaning toward the world and towards secret sensitive and entertainment and just trying to fulfill emotional needs we'll begin to understand that they need to hear from God they need to hear from you Lord and they need to give the truth even if it causes discomfort Lord we're praying that there will be a great harvest of souls a great harvest of people that are hungry for the truth and Lord we know you're about to push things in the world
in a way that will bring people to make a decision let us be ready father I thank you for those listening touch everyone here touch everyone listen in Jesus name and and the Lord did give me one more word and this is I don't know this is not for everyone but this is for someone he told me this this morning and it may be connected it may not be I don't know but he just said for me to say this second Kings chapter six the end of Second Kings in the in chapter seven um I'm just going to give you the story real quick but he said that was where Elisha was sitting with the elders and and Elisha was had been a prophet to the king of Samaria and the king of Samaria was a wicked man he was an idolater and yet God still had mercy sent a prophet to him and helped him many times the prophet God had the prophet Elisha helped the king of Samaria the king of Israel of the north even though he was wicked he was an idol after God sent him many times and because he listened to the prophet God would help him at some point he must have just kept on rebelling and sinning and Elisha spoke about a famine and about The Siege and the reason I know this is because he was angry at Elisha over the sea but anyway the syrians came and besieged the City of Samaria which was the capital of the Northern Kingdom of Israel at the time and they besieged it so bad and so long meaning they they camped around it the armies camped around didn't let any food in and water in anything out and eventually the people of Israel inside the city of Samaria began to starve and the famine and the problems again that that women even began to eat their own children that's how bad the famine was and so the king of Israel was so angry with Elisha he sent a man to go find him so they could kill it that I'm going to take his head off and then like him taking heads off in the Middle East for a long time problem there they got issues but this man goes and as he's sitting there Elijah goes Elisha news the Lord told him he's coming he said look this son of a murderer is sending somebody to take my head off he said when it comes you guys grab a hold of him and hold him fast that means by force you're going to take hold of him and he said this Elisha got a word from the Lord I think about this they've been in Siege who knows months so long that all the food and water was gone and Elisha speaks this word he says you go tell the king they held the messenger you go tell the King by this time tomorrow
by this time tomorrow there's going to be plenty plenty of water it's going to be so much and abundance is going to be cheap and one man heard this who was a friend of the king he goes if the Lord would open windows in heaven how could this be and he goes you'll see it but you won't taste of it and then the story goes on how God moves some four lepers and how God moves and caused the Syrian Army to leave and leave all of their food and all of their stuff overnight and the Lord wanted me to say this to somebody this is for some someone and or or some people that you've been in a long long long trial that seems to only get worse and you you've let discouragement and depression and for some people it's been it's it's health problems for some people it's Financial struggles for some people it struggles with your children I mean I mean it could be any number of things but it's just been long it just you you've come to the point of hopelessness and you just think that it's never going to change because it's just been the same way for so long even though you prayed even though you've gone to church you tried to do the right thing but the Lord wanted me to tell you today no matter how bad it looks or how long it's been there's a word for you in one day one 24-hour period can change God can change all of it you hear what I'm saying bring you out of it you can wake up one morning your kids are on dope they're hating your guts they won't speak to you it's been going on for years and years and years and all of a sudden you wake up one morning you get a call and it's those children crying their eyeballs out going Daddy I gave my life to Jesus I'm saved I'm walking with God now I'm free from drugs I'm free from alcohol in one day everything can change what trial has been going on for years and years and years some of you have health problems I even have something I wanted Lord has been going on for years and years and years but in one day he can change it all make it all go away so what I'm here to tell you is the Lord wants you to believe him that one day your day is coming you see it came because what when the king even though the King was angry at the prophet when he ripped his clothes he had on sackcloth underneath means he was humbling himself and he was repenting and even though he was still angry at the prophet he was still mad and confused and he was still they were
still in the midst of it he was still seeking God and that's what I want to tell you no matter how long the child's been no matter how long the difficulty no matter how long it seems like God has not answered your prayers keep yourself humble keep yourself in faith keep yourself saying God I'm not letting go of you you're going to touch my situation one day one day one day you go to bed and all the problems are there and the next day you can wake up and God could have fixed every single bit of it so do not give up the Lord told me this in the beginning of last year or the end of last year November right before Thanksgiving he said this was a year to not give up on people that you've been praying for tough hard cases don't give up there will be breakthroughs go read that story Second Kings six and seven you'll read it
