glory to his name yes go ahead and give him praise Hallelujah Glory To Your Name Lord the name of Jesus we just Worship You Lord we exalt you this day we thank you Lord that we can come together Fellowship together but worship you in spirit and in truth TR Lord I just thank you for all that you have done through your precious blood that was shed on the cross Lord you made the way for everything we need everything Lord forgiveness of sins eternal life Lord I Thank you that death has no more sting that Lord we're going to live forever with you if we walk with you and walk in the light as you are in the light he says that the blood cleanses us from all sin and we are grateful for that today we thank you for that today and we pray this in Jesus name and everybody said amen amen you may be seated this morning you welcome everyone to Fire and Grace Church those here watch those watching and listening out there we Happy Father's Day to all the fathers I don't know if this is going to be a Father's Day message but Happy Father's Day I tell you one thing I will say you know Hollywood and TV shows always try to make the father looked like an idiot and he don't know what's going on but let me tell you it's no easy job to be a father to lead a family the way you're supposed to go and all the hell that comes at you trying to do that um it's it's quite the uh the job so uh you know that's why we're supposed to honor and respect you know children and wives are supposed to honor and respect their their husbands because it's really not an easy job uh really the husband's the one standing in the way of the devil uh to get the whole family so it's it's an important thing but I want you this morning we're going to cover some things but I want you to go with me to um goodness even where to start this morning let's go to First John chapter 1 first I don't even know quite how to title or direct this this morning but we'll figure it out this is something I've been studying this week meditating on this week again and it's not really something new but I think it's something we need to be remembered uh that we need to remember um you know we put a lot of pressure on ourselves sometimes to be perfect don't we some people are that way I some people are perfectionist uh some people put a lot of pressure on themselves to be the perfect Christian and uh you know after 37 plus years of doing this I found out something you
can't um you're not going to be a perfect Christian you're not going to be a sinless Christian but you do need to understand the difference because there's the other side of that Spectrum where there's a lot of people think well because of the grace of God the love of God and the blood of Jesus and I can pretty much you know no matter what I do there's always going to be forgiveness there and you can't get in an attitude where and I'm going to show you this from scripture in a second where you kind of get an arrogant attitude and think you can do whatever you want and get away with whatever you want and just ask God for forgiveness and it's automatic that somehow God's obligated to forgive you you got to remember he's not obligated to do it he says he will but what he's looking for he's looking for a genuine heart and he knows the difference between the heart that wants to live for him and hates sin and he knows the difference between the one who says they love Jesus but then just completely makes excuses and indulges sin this was the difference between King Saul and King David I mean we think about what David did committing adulter then having a man plotting to have a man murdered and then following through with it we think how horrendous and we look at King Saul's life he didn't do anything close to that at first all he did was disobey the direction of the prophet and then um stepped over out of being a king and a prophet into trying to be a priest as well and made the sacrifice before Samuel got there and Samuel says you're every it's the Lord's rejected you this day the anointing left Saul and it was it it was done he was done now why is that I believe it's because the Lord looked at the difference between not what they did the sin they committed because all been sent the difference is he looked at the heart of David versus the heart of Saul and he knew David didn't want to do what he did that he hated what he did and we're going to read that from Psalm 51 in a minute but he hated that and how David repented Saul's repentance was was not even half-hearted it was it was pathetic he just wanted the people to still look at him as king he just wanted the praise of the people and he still wanted everything to be fine he just he didn't really understand he didn't take seriously when he did fall and sin he didn't take it serious and this is this is what I believe is the big difference but I want to read this to you just kind of laying the foundation for this because it's important as Christian Chans that we have a balance in this area because we can't just indulge sin and think we're going to get away with it and even indulge it habitually and think we're
going to make it to heaven but we also got to understand that we will never be perfect we will never be without sin and so we have to be balanced in this because we don't want to beat ourselves up if we don't do everything just right you know and here's the thing if you do fall and you do sin then what are you supposed to do give up keep doing it get depressed just say oh I can't do it and heck with it and go just do whatever I want no you're to confess it and forsake it to the best of your ability and just the Lord knows deep down again if deep down in your heart there is not a hatred for sin wickedness and Rebellion to God then something's wrong with your heart it really is as the true born again Christian one of the first things you should you should have a hatred for is sin not The Sinner and not yourself but you should hate the fact that this thing lives and dwells with us and always wants to make us do what's wrong and it's a war it's a constant war and I don't care how long you walk with Jesus and I don't care how much knowledge you attain and I don't care how much anointing you get and I don't care how much of the gifts of the Spirit you operate in or how many miracles happen through through you you are still living in a flesh body and that flesh body will want to do what's wrong and sometimes you give into it even when you don't want to give into it and this is what Paul was talking about in Romans 7 Things I do do I don't want to do and there's things I don't want to do that I do and we're going to read that too in a minute but let's read this here in 1 John chapter 1 and I guess we're going to start at verse three and here's what it says that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you that ye Also may have fellow fellowship with us and truly our fellowship is with the father and with his son Jesus Christ and these things write we unto you that your joy may be full this then is the message which we have heard of him and declare unto you that God is light and in him is no Darkness at all if we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness we lie and do not the truth now let's pause right there for a second God is light and in him is no Darkness at all but if we we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness walk here in darkness this verb is what students
guess what it might be present tense Greek verb right which means ongoing continuous action taking place in the present it's a habitual thing it's a lifestyle thing and it's actually going on it hasn't been confessed it hasn't been repented of it hasn't been forsaken it hasn't been stopped it's ongoing continuous and taking place in the present so what he's saying if we walk in the darkness and darkness here represents sin and false Doctrine false teaching lies deception so he's warning Us in God there is no sin and there is no lies there's no falsehood there's no error in God and he said if we say though if we say we are in fellowship with God and yet we habitually continually presently indulge sin wickedness and and darkness and error and deception we lie and do not the truth okay basically what he's saying here is that the darkness should not have dominion over you and Dominion means complete rule complete rain in your life it should not be that way but let's keep reading reading he says there again I'll read it again verse 6 if we say we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness we lie and do not the truth but if we walk in the light as he is in the light we have Fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanses us from all sin if we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us now let me just say that again because we got some people out here teaching doctrines that they don't sin anymore they don't deal with sin anymore their sins are forgiven past present and future that we should not even have a sin conscience that's I think that's like the teachings of Dan Mohler uh who else uh Joseph Prince Charles Stanley some of these people that teach what I will call hyper Grace but they actually say that the Christian shouldn't even you shouldn't even ever think about Sin because there's no sin in your life God doesn't see any sin in your life there's even there's even Christians out there teaching that you as a born- again Christian you never have to repent of sin again because it's automatically forgiven it's automatically washed away well let me say this if that was the case then nobody would have to be born again either because if it's a automatic and there's no response that we have to have to what Jesus has done for us if there's no responsibility of man then why do we need to be born again why do we even need to come to church why do we need to read the Bibles why do we need to pray why do we need to do anything why do we
need to even resist sin and see this is the great error of what's called Calvinism Calvinism is basically it's all God you can do nothing and there's no responsibility or free will of man and this is why Calvinism is such a demonic satanic heresy that doesn't need need to be in the mind of any Christian but it is but again there's people that actually believe in what's called sinless Perfection that a Christian reaches a point where they're just so holy that they just never going to sin anymore or they've stopped sinning yet the Bible says here it says this if we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves in the truth is not in us right and then he tells us if we and I love how the Bible is very clear John writing this when he says we means he's including himself he says if we confess our sins he is faithful and just forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness if we say that we have not sinned we make him a liar and his word is not in it so if we say there's no such thing as Sin you know you get into some of these Gnostic Cults and they'll say oh there's no such thing as Sin the flesh is irrelevant the material world's irrelevant it's just spiritual and knowledge is what will save you you there's no sin either way it's all about knowledge that's gnosticism right there now let's keep reading this because he goes on to explain this he says my little children these things write I unto you that you sin not and if any man sin we have an advocate with the father Jesus Christ the righteous and he is the propitiation or the sacrifice the atoning sacrifice for our sins and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world and hereby or this is how we do know that we know him if we keep his Commandments he that saith I know him and keepeth not his Commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him all right now here is an important thing again keeping his Commandments walking in the New Testament Commandments of the Lord right walking in New Testament Christianity is what this thing about being obedient and being holy but he just told us we can't say we never have any sin right he he said that we can be without it rather we can't he said so there's going to be times guess what you don't always keep his word which is why this here when it says that we must keep his word is again the present tense Greek verb this is why you got to know some grammar sometimes of these original languages you have to know it means ongoing continuous action taking place in the present again it's about habitual lifestyle versus you may you
may sin you may fall at time you may you may struggle but you don't stay there you don't live there and again the Lord knows the difference between the one who is playing games right and just trying to get away with see what they can get away with as much as they can get away with and he knows the one that hates it and doesn't want to do it then he says this verse five he says but who so keepeth his word in him verily is the love of God perfected hereby know we that we are in him he that saith he abideth in him ought himself also to walk even as he walks so our goal should be to walk as Jesus walked that's our goal all right to do the works that Jesus did Jesus said he that believeth on me the works that I do shall he do also and even greater Works than these John 14:12 but again that's our goal we don't always make that goal now let's go to Romans chapter 7 and we're going to go down to um I don't want to go through all of this but we'll just go to verse 12 we'll read from there well no we just go to verse 14 that's fine verse 14 and we'll read some of this here he says here verse 14 for we know that the law is spiritual and God's standard God's commands but I am carnal sold under sin for that which I do I allow not for what I would that do I not but what I hate that do I if then I do that which I would not I consent unto the law that is good now all that's saying is when I do something that's wrong I admit it that it's wrong I consent to the law I say I'm wrong' and God's word his standard his law is right I'm wrong a lot of people you know we' got the homosexuals and all this trying to justify themselves it's not wrong whatever but no you have to just admit it's wrong whether it be homosexuality or adultery or fornication or drunkenness you have to be able to say it's wrong you know even AA they say the first first thing you have to admit if you're an alcoholic is that you're an alcoholic right or there's no way to even begin the the process of getting free from it you have to admit that you're wrong and you have a problem so that's what Paul's doing here and then he says this in verse 17 now then is no more I
that do it but sin that dwelleth in me now for those who teach sinless Perfection within Christianity the problem this is your problem here because Paul when he said sin that dwelleth the word the verb dwelleth guess what it is even my Bible I have the Greek verb tense uh I guess you would say study a or whatever in my Bible and it's got PPT present participle beside it meaning ongoing continuous action taking place in the present so he's saying that sin dwells in my flesh continually and presently even as a born again believer because what is born again what has been regenerated and made new is your spirit man okay your soul is in the process of being renewed because you renew your mind by what the word of God and you have to constantly be renewing your mind because the devil is at war with your mind and then the flesh though is always your your enemy see I I think I think I've said it before you you've got an enemy in the camp and it's you between Spirit soul and body your physical body is your enemy and this is what Satan plays upon now he has to play upon your mind so that your mind will allow your body to do what it wants to do and that's why he attacks the mind and this is what Paul is saying he said now it is no more I that do it but sin that dwelleth in me for I know that in me that is in My Flesh dwelleth no good thing for to will is present with me but how to perform that which is good I find not so Paul is saying here my will my desire everything in me my whole plan and desire is to do what is good to do what is right to follow the lord in everything to live a holy life to obey his Commandments to be led by the Holy Spirit to love people the way the Bible says the love people and not that hippie Agape sloppy Agape type of love that's our goal but he says what for I know that in me that in my flesh dwells no good thing for to will is present with me but how to perform that which is good I find not for the good that I would I do not but the evil that I would not that I do now if I do that I would not it is no more I that do it but sin that dwelleth in me so he's saying sin dwells in me and this is another area where husbands and wives this is why we have to be quick to repent and forgive each other because I don't care
if you got the most holy Godly marriage and you two are Holy Ghost filled tongue talking fire breathing love Jesus in the word pray all the time fast I can assure you that your flesh from time to time is going to talk and it's going to act out it's going to say things and do things and this is why we have to be quick to forgive because the moment you start holding grudges and resentment and bitterness in any relationship and you don't forgive truly forgive from the heart then that's why listen all the divorces you want to know the reason for divorces number one reason of all divorce is Hardness of Heart somebody in the marriage hardens their heart and says I'm not going to do what's right I don't care I'm not going to repent anymore or I'm not going to forgive anymore hey somebody don't don't shout me down when I'm preaching good it got quiet in here for a minute but Paul says this in verse 20 22 he goes on to say say even though he says that when he wants to do good evil is present with him in verse 21 then he says this for I Delight in the law of God after the inward man I Delight in it see this is the difference between Saul and David David delighted in God's word in God's law in God's Commandments he delighted in his relationship with God he didn't want to lose that he didn't want to lose his relationship with God he didn't want to lose his anointing he didn't want to disappoint God Saul didn't really care deep down what Saul was cared about was himself remember a few weeks ago I said the biggest Idol in the Christian's life is themselves this is why we have to deny the flesh crucify the flesh put to death the Deeds of the body and don't let them re in our life look what he goes on to say I love this he says for I Delight in the law of God after the inward man but I see another law in my members that's my physical body Waring against the law of my mind and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members and then Paul says this about himself oh Wretched Man that I am who shall deliver me from the body of this death I thank God through Jesus Christ Our Lord so then with the the mind I myself serve the law of God but with the flesh the law of sin now think about that this is the Apostle Paul he was a holy godly man and he is saying that I realize I've
come to the conclusion that in my mind my intention in the deepest part of my heart I serve God with all my heart but my flesh My Flesh serves the law of sin I can't look you you can't even you can't change the Flesh in fact the flesh will not be changed until the resurrection until Jesus comes and we either see him face to face if we're alive we're going to be changed in the moment the twinkling of an eye and this Mortal body this corruptible this evil flesh of ours is going to be changed and thank God it's got to be changed it's going to be changed to be like the body that Jesus has it will no longer desire sin evil corruption lust perversion all the things that the flesh desires it will no longer do that and of course the Bible says the dead in Christ will rise first look there is going to be a Rapture y'all it's called the first resurrection really Rapture terms not in the Bible but it's not at the beginning of the tribulation I'm sorry I'm just going to tell you that right now it's at the end at the very end so meaning you might have to endure to the end or to the end of your life but you can't change and this is what Paul's saying I can't change the the flesh is the flesh basically I have to live with it and he's going to tell us in a minute that we've got to keep it under subjection but this is what he says and this is what's interesting remember when Paul originally wrote this letter there were no breaks in it he goes straight from this into chapter 8 where he says there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit now let me pause right there if your Bible leaves out that last part of that verse who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit you have a corrupted version of the Bible and you need to get a King James Bible just going to tell you that phrase is in the original Greek text and it's supposed to be there because what he's saying again is there is no condemnation to those who have made up their mind not to habitually continually arrogantly walk after the Flesh and still think they're okay see this is why the doctrine of once you're saved you're always saved no matter how you live is so damnable and and so dangerous because it doesn't leave the condition there and so what I'm saying is if you have made up your mind and you are determined and in your deepest heart you say I am going to walk after the things of the spirit I'm not going to habitually indulge the flesh I want to live for God
and you're trying your best to do that and and it's sincere and it's real it's not some some outward hypocrisy you're you're just pretending then the Lord says to you there is no condemnation to you meaning that he is not going to be condemning you or ready to Smite you you understand and if he's not condemning you then quit condemning yourself you hear me now if you're living in habitual rebellious indulgent sin yeah you you are going to be you're going to feel condemnation and you should condemn yourself and you should condemn that lifestyle and you should hate it and want to change that's called conviction of sin and if you have no conviction and you are indulging it you may actually be one of those who are get becoming a reprobate and that you don't want to do because once you become a full reprobate you no longer feel any guilt or conviction for doing what you're doing basically basically God has turned you over to do what you want to do he is no longer dealing with you to draw you convict you or or or even anything he won't even let you feel condemnation and this is where a lot of people are they have as as the Bible calls it being past feeling having the conscience seared with a hot iron and the word seared means it becomes callous well how do calluses be how do you get calluses what it's by constant work right so what he's saying is if you constantly go against your conscience you constantly Rebel you constantly sin you constantly just live in it habitually you will create that state in your heart where your heart becomes starts to not feel anymore you wonder how people can go out and just become a a mass murderer how we sit back sometimes how how did it somebody told me about a three-year-old was it you telling me last night about the three-year-old who told me that about a a lady walking up to a three-year-old coming out of a store and just stabed the three-year-old and the mother the three-year-old dies the mother is in critical condition what how does a person do that kind of evil how do these people H H how do how do grown men molest little children you you sit there and go how can they not feel horrible to the point of how not it's because they have they have continually seared their conscience to the point they can do anything and not feel it you want to talk about the ultimate
just I'm going to please the flesh that's pedophiles rapists Ted Bundy I remember in his testimony you know the serial killer the the serial rapist and killer I think he was from Washington State wasn't he there's a lot of serial killers from Washington State um but Bundy said he was brought up in a good Christian family he do he said I wasn't abused or molested or beaten or mistreated in any way he said but I got into pornography he said and I kept getting into it and he said and it took more and more what he'd say you know I guess radical more you know just worse and worse pornography to make him feel it to the point that he finally his conscience and mind was so seared and so past feeling that he had to go that that the pornography didn't satisfy him anymore so he has to go act it out and we're talking about pornography that gets to the point of you know snuff films where they're actually actually killing people in the films so he goes out and begins to practice and to do what he saw in that because he hardened his heart his conscience over time this is why this is why it's so dangerous that we have to be people that do not indulge the Flesh and let the flesh run wild because we can get to that point where we no longer feel bad about it we no longer feel any condemnation any conviction any guilt any shame I know that Society calls these people what uh amoral right sociopaths that's just putting a name on reprobate and Paul makes this statement what's interesting is he states that he could become a reprobate in fact let's go to 1 Corinthians chapter 9 y'all don't mind if I teach a little bit this morning do you I got some sleep last night so we can go for two or three hours today 1 Corinthians chapter nine and he says this we'll go down to verse 24 and he says know ye not that they which run in a race run all but one receiveth the price so run that you may obtain and every man that striveth for the Mastery is temperate in all things what does temperance mean self-control now they do it to obtain a corruptible Crown but we an Incorruptible I therefore so run not as uncertainty so fight I not as one that
beateth the air but I keep under my body and bring it into subjection L by any means when I have preached to others I myself should be a Castaway now this word here this Greek word is the same Greek word in Romans 1 that talks about a reprobate who has pasted feeling that God has given them over to do their wickedness to practice it this is why I'll be honest with you this is why it's hard to witness and preach to a lot of homosexuals because actually Romans 1 says that homosexuality is a sign that some of them have become that reprobate they have gone past feeling and there is no coming back now only God knows which ones have crossed that line of no return but it does exist it does exist um and that's again why if you continue to indulge that lifestyle it's dangerous but that's the same for anybody it's the same for adultery it's the same for fornication it's the same for idolatry it's the same for all these these sins if you keep practicing it there comes a point where the the Lord will say I am done trying to bring you out of it I'm done convicting you I'm done making you feel guilty I'm done putting the condemnation on you so you'll feel bad enough to change and everybody knows this I've talked about this how when I started my living in sin when I became a teenager when I started the drinking and I remember the first sexual sin I got into and I remember how dark and depressed and condemned and guilty and unclean it felt I I mean it felt like I just it was sickening and remember the world had been planning in my head through music and TV and movies and everything else how wonderful sexual sin was and here I am the first time 14 years old and I after I feel horrible but as I continued to drink and party and have more of those experiences I felt less and less of the conviction and the darkness and the depression and the uncleanness of it all to the point that I became even though I'd been born again when I was 11 and truly met Jesus and encountered the the power of the Holy Spirit I had gotten so far away from that I was I was completely blinded by Satan and my flesh to the fact that I was living a habitual lifestyle of sin and going to be damned to hell for eternity and this again this is why it's so dangerous but Paul said I keep my body look at verse 27 again he says I keep my body he's talking about the Flesh and bring it into subjection make it obey me he says lest by any means when I have
preached the others I myself should become a Castaway a reprobate boy that blows that once saved always saved doctrin out out of the water doesn't it Paul's saying that when he had preached to others he's LED others to Jesus he's established churches cast out demons healed the sick he says I could become a cast away if I let my body my flesh run wild and do whatever it wants it doesn't matter even a holy Apostle can become a reprobate somebody say I don't want to be a reprobate I want to be you know I love this go to go to John chapter 1 I don't want to be a repr probate here's what's sad and I and as you're turning there I just want to share this the Bible says Matthew 24 Jesus warned as we enter the last days he said because iniquity will or sin will abound wickedness Rebellion to God will abound he said the love of many will grow cold many will be offended and shall hate one another and betray one another right he's letting us know that one of the problems we're going to see in the end is that people are going to become reprobates who were once Christians and it's going to be a slow process that they're going to just continually they're going to become offended with God because how could God allow these things to happen think about the pre-tribulation Rapture crowd when they're not raptured out of here how many of them are going to be offended with god well my pastor told me for years that TV preacher told me I'd be out of here I was told we'd have our best life now I was told it's a it's all going to be great purpose-driven life everything's wonderful right find your purpose no John chapter 1 this is when Jesus was calling his uh disciples and let's go down to verse oh let's I guess we'll read from verse 43 here and you get that definition ready I love this right here now now remember the disciples even though Jesus called them none of them were perfect none of them were sinless none of them were you know had it all together knew everything none of them were holy you know perfectly because why all have sinned and come short of the glory of God that's why I like the doctrine in Roman Catholicism that says Mary never sinned
I mean come on we know that's a lie Mary was a normal natural human being like everybody else and the Bible says all sin so Mary sin which is why Mary took the sacrifices to the temple right gave to the priest for her sins she knew she was a sinner nobody's perfect here what this says it says the day following this verse 43 the day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee and findeth philli and saith unto him follow me now Philip was was of bethsadia the city of Andrew and Peter and Philip findeth Nathaniel and saith unto him we have found him of whom Moses in the law and the prophets did write Jesus of Nazareth the son of Joseph and Nathaniel said unto him can there any good thing come out of Nazareth and Philip saith to him come and see and Jesus saw Nathaniel coming to him and say then behold an Israelite indeed in whom there is no gu now what I love about this I mean Nathaniel just got through kind of dissing them about you know what are you talking about it didn't came can't anything good coming out of Nazareth that's a bad place but when Jesus sees him he says an Israelite indeed whom there is no gu not saying there is no sin but let's look at what this word means Gile in the original Greek this word doulos here it means look meaning to be a basically a decoy what is a decoy if you're a duck hunter and you have decoy it means fake not real but appearing to be real oh it's kind of what the Pharisees were right how many Christians are like this so-called I should say decoy trick bait right wild or crafty subtlety he's saying Within Nathaniel there was no fakeness there was no hypocrisy there was no pretending about him there was no scheming there was no agendas oh if we could have that in church you know there's a lot of schemers in church I can't stand schemers instead of just being happy with what God's doing in your life scheming trying to manipulate people trying to befriend people trying to get angles to be this trying to climb some kind of ladder within the church hierarchy or whatever all of that is foolishness it is demonic I want everybody I I want Jesus to be able to say of you and everybody else look at that Gary in whom there is no
G right Chad in whom there is no gu There's No Agenda there's no aess there's no deceit there's no craftiness wild no scheming going on I'm here to serve the Lord and Obey him you know and I'm I'm gonna be honest with you I I get sick and tired i' I've listened to this stuff for the last 37 years and probably heard it before that but you know how in the charismatic Pentecostal Church world it's all about your destiny you're going to be this you're going to be that maybe you're to be nobody maybe you're to be nothing but a church member and be faithful ain't everybody supposed to be an apostle I don't care I know that they think everybody can be an apostle now but not everybody's an apostle sorry and you shouldn't want to be that if you're not called to be that and a lot of this preaching out there within the charismatic pent about you going to do this and you going to do that and you going to be this and all of that is nothing but flattery and manipulation of a crow proud see cuz I can sit here and say some of you going to be martyrs some of you your name will never be known some of you you will never be in a pull pit you won't be known in public and that's okay as long as you're faithful to Jesus and do what he has called you to do with your life and you should be happy with that instead of i g to do this and I'm gonna do that you're going to be this great thing you going to be that great thing manipulation I and I'm I'm going to tell you I get tired I could name some names right now some names are coming to mind you'll notice their Ministry is always talking about your destiny you going to be this you going to be that and and what's amazing is you need them to be that you need them to impart something to you you need them to lay hands on you anoint you you need them no you need to do what God's called you to do even if it's in obscurity for your whole life this trying to be somebody in the kingdom of God this this desire let me tell you and this it's it's still in this church too you got to crucify this the desire of the flesh to be seen to be looked up to to be respected in some way to be praised by men in some way you that has got to Die the death cuz there's a stench upon it and a lot of people again it starts out innocent of and it can always be Mass with I just want to serve the Lord I just want to do this I just want to I just want to help win souls and it can become it sounds all nice and good but it's a it's a decoy and the Lord wants to root that out of us I you know praise and worship
teams over the years I have seen you want to talk about the battles who's going to be the leader who's going to sing this who's going to sing that y'all know they were in a big church watching all of it happen and all of that is just demonic it's satanic it's the flesh you know what does the what does the Bible say what Jesus said when you come into a situation a church a praise and worship team whatever it may be what take the back seat let them call let the leaders call you up to the front seat don't try to put yourself in the front seat cuz if you try to put yourself in the front seat you probably going to end up in the back seat if the holy spirit's leading anything in that church and all this striving and I love this about Nathaniel it was like you know they told him we we it said we found the Messiah he goes yeah right yeah sure that's why say come and see and that's why I believe Jesus gave him a word of knowledge just like that I saw you under the Fig Tree talking about me what when did you see me I love that but be Christians with no Gile y'all no deceit No fakeness No Agenda see this is why too I spend time I spend time telling you guys about my struggles because I don't want it to look like that I'm somehow up here and y'all are down here it's not the way it works I still have every kind of struggle that anybody else say even though I'm called to be in the public Ministry and I'm called as a leader in the body of Christ and really to tell you the truth all that means is I have more responsibility and more burden upon me it's not something I look at in fact I ask the Lord many times can I retire is it possible there's a retirement plan y'all don't understand I'd love to just go lay on the beach somewhere fish play golf you know not have to worry about the responsibility of not just you guys in here but thousands of people that listen now knowing and I you know know knowing that I'm responsible and if I teach them wrong it's on me if I lead them the wrong direction or if I become a bad example that's on me if I make if I make little one stumble that's on me so this is why I take it seriously people say all the time why you preach like you do it's like because I feel the weight of the
responsibility but the Lord knows if the Lord told me today was my last day to be a pastor to preach in public it would be my last day because it's not it's not my life some of these guys they would lose their minds if they lost a few uh view you know a few followers on social media and what what irritates me is a lot of them are just using certain things to manipulate algorithms so that they can gain followers and they don't even believe this stuff they don't believe some of the stuff they're talking about they just do it to and again what is that that's being fake being fake so don't be don't be the fake duck in the pool right don't be the decoy let's be the real thing amen I want you to go with me to this go to Psalm 19 because just like I call this the Romans 7 of the Old Testament here because David said and we're going to go to Psalm 19 let's go down to verse 9 here in Psalm 19 you know we talk a lot about psalm 19 the first part of it about the firmament about the Sun moving in its circuit into the Tabernacle which is the firmament tent and we use this a lot in talking about biblical cosmology and creation but I love that he gets into this and he says this look at verse n he says the fear of the Lord is clean enduring forever the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether more to be desired than gold yay than than much fine gold sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb moreover by them thy is thy servant warned and in keeping of them is great reward and then he says this what's interesting he's talking about keeping the Commandments of God obeying God fearing God all great stuff and those who fear God depart from Evil right if you truly fear God you will not live in habitual sin you will hate it you will have respect to the Lord you know he will do what he says he's going to do but then he says this David says who can understand his errors the word errors in the Hebrew is a means a moral mistake so he said who can understand their moral mistakes he says cleanse thou me from Secret faults and all he's saying there is things hidden things that people don't see my private Life Cleanse me from Secret
faults meaning David did even want the sins that other people didn't see in his life think about that a lot of people only concerned about what you see on the outside David was like Hey nobody knows about these things I struggle with he said but I don't even want them in my life cleanse me from secret secret sin secret faults and then he says keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins now the word this means presumptuous sins means an arrogant uh attitude in your sin that's the kind of people that are like God knows I can't help myself I know what the word of God says but there are no butts right these are the people who come up with theological gymnastics and excuses instead of just hating their sin and wanting to be free from it and wanting to live a more obedient and holy life they make excuses they make lies they create doctrines and they have an attitude about it think about it you confront some of these folks you just confront I I mean I I years ago I said something I said something in a group of people about lukewarm Christians and these people got all offended at me I mean Super offended stayed offended for years and then went to a big Revival meeting and went forward this is years after this a few years after I I pointed it out to them and they go to a Big Revival meeting and go up and repent being lukewarm just exactly what told them and then they go oh yes oh boy you know God moved and I repented of being lukewarm but they got offended with me I guess cuz I was early right no don't be arrogant arrogant presumptuous sins where you just say you just get stubborn and bullheaded and I'm just going to keep doing it and the and he says and this this is what David says here he says keep back thy servant from these kind of sins let them not have dominion over me then I shall be upright and I shall be innocent from the great transgression now what is the great transgression that's when you completely depart from God see what he's what he's spelling out here is a progression
that you better hate these things and cry out to God for his help to overcome these things and you better hate them with all of your heart because if not you will eventually become the reprobate who commits the great transgression these are the people that say I'm done with God I'm done with Christianity I'm done with church I'm done with the Bible I'm done with I'm not I'm not doing this anymore and they walk away and they follow him no more that's the great transgression the word transgression here means a rebellion a Revolt it actually means if you look it up I looked it up in the in the strongs and in the jinius and these lexicons the Hebrew lexicons one of the words uh defining this was not just rebellion and Revolt but defection and what is the definition of defection it's when you become you you leave your country and become loyal to one who was your enemy this is what the Bible talks about apostasy when it says in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 that there's going to be a falling away an apostasia apostasy means you were once loyal and you become disloyal and become an enemy of you defect remember during the Cold War we'd have Russian agents defect to the United States and tell us everything guess what we had American agents that defected to the Soviet Union and told them everything and now we got Christians defecting what do they call it now deconstruction deconstructing deconstructing no it's called apostasy it's called becoming a reprobate it's called the Great transgression let me tell you another great transgression will be taken the mark of the beast it's that I am going to become loyal to the Beast Antichrist Kingdom and not stay loyal to the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ oh y'all are quiet as Lutheran today go to Hebrews chapter 1 show you something else here I've mentioned this verse many times over the years this little truth about Jesus but it's it applies to us as
well let's go to oh we'll just start reading y'all okay if we start reading at verse one chapter 1 verse one all right I think this will be our last passage probably I never promise verse one God who had suned times and in diverse manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets hath in these last days spoken to us by his son whom he hath appointed heir of All Things by whom also he made the worlds who being the brightness of his glory and the express image of his person and upholding All Things by the word of his power when he had by himself purged our sin sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high being M being made so much better than the angels as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent Name than they for un which of the Angels said he at any time Thou Art my son this day I have begotten thee and again I will be to him a father and he shall be to me a son and again when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world he sayith let all the angels of God worship Him and of the angels He saith who maketh his angels spirits and his ministers a flame of fire but Unto the Sun he saith thy Throne oh God so the son is called God th unto the son he says thy Throne oh God is forever and ever a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom thou Hast loved righteousness and hated iniquity therefore God even thy God hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows now let's just stop right there see Jesus came God the mystery of godliness this mystery of this Trinity triun nature of god father son Holy Spirit but we know the B any that any of the the flesh since Adam and sin nature there because he was conceived by the holy spirit so there's no sin nature in Jesus there's that's why he said the devil has no no part in me there's no he has no nothing to put his little claws his little hooks into me but Jesus was tempted in all points like we are yet without sin right and it says because he loved righteousness somebody say because because he loved righteousness and hated iniquity he was anointed oh see this is the good stuff here you don't need the latest Apostle to lay hands on you to get the anointing amen you don't need a$1 th000 seed in a prophecy right if you love righteousness and you hate sin and that's how you want to live your life and there's no deceit in your heart about it there's no gu there you will be
Anointed The anointing of the holy spirit will be on your life the glory of God will be on your life the power of God will be on your life but if you have the other attitude that you think I can live however I want to live and God's obligated to forgive me and Grace covers it no matter how I live and all these other if you got all these ideas about how you can live in sin and God's okay with it you will never have the anointing you wonder why see I get more emails messages comments to me Pastor Dean why is it when I walk in these churches I feel nothing God is not there I hear these sermons and there's no anointing or power on them there's no nothing that touches my heart when I hear them preach even though I hear some scriptures from them I hear some of the word why is it I never feel the anointing the Holy Ghost conviction the fear of the Lord why do I never experience that in church why do I never feel uncomfortable because let me tell you if you're in sin and you come to church you should feel uncomfortable at times why is it I don't feel that because they don't hate sin because the goal is not to love righteousness and hate sin the goal is to build a big church and actually their God is money and numbers and that's why they Don't Preach like this and they don't tell people you can't live in adultery or homosexuality or whatever they don't tell people you can't live in it habitually because they know that most of their congregation does and we can't have them leav cuz then we can't pay the multi-million dollar mortgage anymore say Amen or owe me see this is this is the thing about it the Lord knows the whole motive of the heart and the whole motive of the heart will determine everything it will determine how you live it will determine whether you have the anointing of the Holy Spirit or not and here's what's so here's what's so bad about most of the charismatic and I'm charismatic Pentecostal I am not ashamed of that I believe in the gifts of the holy spirit for today flow with them operate and believe it the real gifts of the holy spirit are real but I can tell you right now that most of the charismatic Pentecostal Church World they don't have a hat for sin they tolerate it they allow it to go on I mean just look at the latest scandal with with Hillsong Brian Houston the fact that he knew he knew his father
was a pedophile and instead of stopping the man so that he wouldn't molest another child he covered it up and lied for him for years allowing his pedophile father to continue to Millen children now how could you ever say that you love righteousness and hate iniquity and allow that to continue as a pastor but this is how sick the church world has become how anybody after we're not talking about a scandal here or there but we're talking about a systemic problem in the Roman Catholic Church of pedophilia how could anybody still go to that church not to mention all the other problems it has doctrinally but how do you go to a church that has a history of pedophilia and abusing children and we know that Bishops and Cardinals and popes covered up for other Bishops Cardinals priests and popes that were doing it and sometimes they would be they would be serial molesters in an area and instead of of of exposing them removing them having them go to prison as they should they sent them to another area another church another parish as they call it to keep doing it and you sit back and you go that's why I know there is no anointing power of the holy spirit in the Roman Catholic Church he left a long time ago he left back really tell around the second century he left the Church of Rome and it's been nothing but the cage of every evil and unclean spirit that exist but you think that's the only one mega church Christianity in America is so corrupt and this is why when Jesus said you can't let love God and money it can't be if money is the deciding factor on anything I preached this a few weeks ago if money is is the deciding factor on what you're going to do or not do for God then who God is either your God or money is your god you can't have it both ways and and then so and then two I Marvel that so many Christians don't see the obvious manipulation for money and big buildings and that that's the motivation I saw I have a series on C set tape I did in 98 still have it on the the church growth cult the Seeker sensitive philosophy and when that came in when it and caught hold it
really came in in the late 70s caught hold in the 80s exploded in the 90s but that whole mentality of let's water it down let's give the sinner the Seeker what they want out of church let's go take a survey Bill hibl did it uh Willow Creek Community Church Chicago let's go out into the community take a survey let's see what the Sinners want for church to be like and then we're going to craft a church that way because the goal was to have the biggest church in town not to preach the gospel which includes repentance and Holiness and obedience and the fear of the Lord no no no we leave all that out and the Sinners told them we want shorter sermons we want this and that and programs for this and for that we don't really want to see crosses because that's not something we want to see and so Bill HBL creates a church that basically has nothing that new testament Christianity demands and guess what next thing you know is 10,000 members 15,000 MERS what and here here's what so sad so huge Church takes place and he what did y'all do to make this church like what did y'all do to make such a big church and and then everybody tries to he writes a book tells them how you do it has conferences and then you got all these pastors whose goal is not to do what the Lord wants them to do not to preach what he's called them to preach but to build a big Ministry build a big church that becomes the motivation and the anointing of the Holy Spirit leaves them and here's what's so bad they've built Big churches without him he is nowhere around and what's so sad is is remember the five foolish virgins when they ran out of the oil meaning the Holy Spirit left he said they didn't know it they didn't realize it they just like wait wait oh wait oh we ran out of oil give us some of your oil guess what I can't give you what I have doesn't that fly in the face of all this stuff I'm gonna give you a double portion what are you talking about you can't give nothing double portion I'm so sick of hearing that I can't stand it I just now the Holy Spirit he anoints those who love righteousness and hate iniquity those who will take a stand for righteousness if everybody walks out the
door he anoints those who take a stand for righteousness if everybody quits giving see I'm going to tell you why the anointing Z means CU I never let money rule biggest tithers in my I remember the biggest tithers in my church when I pastored among me the biggest tithers that I had ever had I mean and I'm not mean just tithers but givers I'm talking about thousands and thousands of dollars I remember them making a racist comment to me after a church service one day I'm the wrong person to do that to wrong person CU they made a racist comment about a black family in our church and I just flat told him and said if you don't get that that out of your heart you will not be going to heaven they didn't come back again you know what I said good riddance this is not a game but I know a lot of pastors that would have just kept their mouth shut turn around and walk the other way because they didn't wouldn't have wanted them to leave because their God is money see and I I I think about that the Holy Spirit left Saul you know somebody said a long time ago and I can't remember who it was but the Holy Spirit comes in when he comes in and fills your life he's like a like a lion but when he leaves you won't even know it because when he leaves there's a element of deception there like Samson when the anointing left him he said I will rise and shake myself and fight the Philistines like I used to they're wrong no you're not this time your eyes are getting gouged out and you're becoming a slave see what I want what I cry out for is the anointing anointing and what you should want in your life is the anointing that is the tangible real presence of the power of the Holy Spirit of Jesus in your life again regardless of whether you're ever a preacher in a pull pit in public let me tell you I would be in prayer for hours and fasting and crying out for God to anoint me and fill me so I could go on the street and Lead somebody to Jesus Jesus that's what I did for years y'all long before I got in a pull pit I said that last week I told y'all that I'd rather see you with the anointing of the Holy Spirit on you and you go into your neighbor or to your
coworker or across the street and Lead somebody to True repentance and faith in Jesus Christ and I would see you preaching at the big conference the biggest conference in America Pastor Dean God's opened the door for me really okay but are you anointed do you love righteousness and do you hate iniquity is there no scheming left there's a lot of scheming oh let me let me brush shoulders with the right one and I might get invited to this conference and then my followers will go from 10,000 to 100,000 and and then I can charge for deliverance training I know I'm hurting some feelings now I'm sick of it man and you should be too but again we don't just point the finger out there we make sure we deal with it right here amen all right that's enough even though I could keep going with this it's all about this attitude in our heart and I don't want you know Paul made the statement he said I I I don't want people thinking more of me than they ought to think you shouldn't want that either and you know here's the thing we we we got a weakness in us especially those of us that maybe had parents that didn't encourage us enough or praise us enough or help us enough and so we end up constantly striving for acceptance and praise and respect in the world and that that I understand that's a a wound that's kind of hard to get rid of but when you see that in yourself that's when you need to say you know what Lord I need you to help me be satisfied with what you're doing in my life and not that I have to have the praise of this person or I've got to attain some position so that everybody will respect me and look up to me or all this stuff it it it really is part of the the flesh the wounded flesh side to want to strive for that and for men it's a really an issue if your father never encouraged you and and instilled in you that that you have what it takes to be a man and there's a lot of men that continually strive their entire lives because they never they never feel like they measure up to being a a true
man and it just deep down because your your father's supposed to for a man your father is supposed to make you understand not just not just to discipline you you not just to be that firm hand in your life but also to let you know that he believes in you and knows that that you have in you what it means to become a true a true godly man and so a lot of us I you know I went through this too CU my my dad didn't even come to Jesus fully until you know I was grown so you have this in you where you you know I remember being a young man in the ministry and and wanting thinking that I needed to be successful or what it appeared to be successful in the ministry to be a man to to to be respected or to uh feel like I had attained something so that people would look at me like say you you know you have what it takes obviously because you have done this thing and I'm actually glad that the Lord didn't give me a lot of the stuff I wanted when I was a young man because I couldn't number one I couldn't have handled it and number two it would have been for the wrong reasons and the Lord has to root that out of us but I'm going to tell you right now and I don't say this to to men right now I say this to you right now if you love Jesus you love righteousness you hate iniquity you have what it takes to be a man of God a real man a strong man you don't have to be known you don't have to be rich you don't have to be a big public Ministry or church you can be at peace knowing that you're a Godly Man to a wife and to children and to people around you and that you are good enough you understand and that goes for women women y'all beat yourselves up worse than men do y'all are the list people and if I don't accomplish my list or my own set of Standards I'm not good enough I'm a failure you're not and that's another point of this message today stop it if you don't measure up to your list stop it guess what the Bible told you you'll never measure up to that list or anybody else's list and that's okay as long as you don't become a schemer you hear me but Pastor Dean I let a cuss word slip out of my mouth the other day
so do you cuss every day 24 hours a day seven days a week no then don't beat yourself up repent and move on Pastor Dean I got angry for no reason at my husband or my wife repent and move on Welcome to the flesh the flesh exists oh Pastor Dean I didn't I didn't sing the song exactly correct so I'd rather the song be mistakes in the song and the anointing be on it then it to be perfect and no anointing you hear me let's stand thank you Jesus say this with me if I love God if I love God if I love righteousness love and hate iniquity haity hate sin don't want it in my life don't want it to have dominion in me then say through Jesus Jesus I'm good enough I'm good enough I'm accepted in his eyes I'm accepted in his he loves me and he's going to help me all I have to make sure sure of all is I don't walk away and quit don't and amen amen isn't that good news yes see that's good news right there somebody don't say Amen see in America here we talking about it's Father's day but see that's he that's him being he's a good father he's patient father he's loving father he really wants it's why it says he's not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance he wants everybody to make it he has no desire he says I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked that's not his desire for anybody I tell people all the time he's not put anybody ends up in Hell he's not putting them there they will paddle Their Own Canoe there with him trying to stop them from paddling there almost the whole way sometimes the whole way so he's a good father so listen guys if you didn't have a good father he's been good to you and he believes in you and you don't have to be something in the eyes of the world if you just walk with him and are right with him in his eyes that's all it matters amen am let's pray Lord I Thank you for this
day and I thank you Lord for your word that's true and I thank you Lord that you've given us the scriptures to show us the balance Lord between knowing we can't be perfect but knowing we can't just be a full Rebel and indulging wickedness and we're grateful that there is mercy and forgiveness with you through the cleansing blood of Jesus we can be washed we can be made clean Lord you provided Deliverance for us and healing and everything's there so that we can overcome and not let the flesh have dominion over us and I pray that whether male or female whoever is listening today will recognize that they don't there's no way for them to be perfect but they must love righteousness and hate iniquity and I pray God for the anointing to just fill the hearts of your people that are hungry for your righteousness and your truth and to live for you not with an agenda not with a scheme but just to live for you and be satisfied be content with what you're doing in their lives and where they are Lord I pray this over this church over those watching and listening I pray this in Jesus name somebody say Amen what was that not the last song but the next the last song we did huh let's do this song I know it's hot in here I'm sweating I don't know about y'all it's hot and we ran the air conditioners all night so this is as good as it gets when it's like 100 degrees outside right and what 70% humidity or something we're at now um but let's let's worship one song and then we'll we'll be dismissed all right can we do that all right let's do [Music] my life is yours my hope is in you only and my heart you hold cuz you made this in holy and [Music] [Music] holy your glory is so

yeah go ahead and give him praise thank you Lord thank you Lord just give him praise thank him he has been good to us even when we were not good ain't that good news Hallelujah well I'm going to say it again Happy Father's Day to all you fathers here and out there we thank God for you it's not an easy job like I said uh but you give it to the Lord and He will help you he will give you all the help you need to be the best man the best father you can be uh um I think of my life if if if Dino didn't have the Lord I would be horrible so amen we got to have Jesus amen all right just a few announcements uh creeping closer and closer to uh August the 1st so if you want to be in Fire and Grace School of ministry you get those applications in ASAP I would prefer you get them in before August 1st so you can and uh not be rushed at you know getting everything done that needs to get done because you have to send in a video and then there's all kinds of other stuff that has to be done so get those in ASAP and remember tuition is optional so you can pay or not pay we don't care right um and also uh Skyfall Hallelujah Skyfall 2024 so that's October 25th through the 27th uh we want to pray that there's going to be early fall weather this year right now we usually what's amazing is by the end of October it's usually cooling off the first of October can still be 100 degrees here but by the end of October it's usually cooling off so uh but uh We're still praying on the details about all that but anyway make your start making your plans for that and uh how's that yeah it will be outside side Tent Event of some kind we unless uh there's like a miracle happens like a big one I don't suspect to building will be up by then so uh some type of structure but it should be nice out there but we got a lot of work to do to get it ready even for a tent we have a lot of work left to do um anyway but that's the announcements that I have is there anything I'm forgetting babe yeah for travel information go to Skyfall conference conf .org we we keep that that uh URL web address we keep year round so it's Skyfall conference.org that'll tell you the hotels nearby the best ones uh uh the airport of course closest airport will be um well Montgomery Birmingham Atlanta but I would advise you to just fly into Atlanta it's going to be cheaper that way um but anyway I guess that's it all right y'all
