[Music] [Music] praises [Applause] [Music] is [Music] [Music] you are the one [Applause] [Music] we cry [Applause] [Music] your people need you again [Music] it was kind of the theme of this of this week this weekend that we had down at the revival but we're going to get this going go ahead brother david should have been at war but instead he was on the balcony of his house watching a woman bathe he lusted over her called his people said go get her i want her he took her had sex with her and then he realizes that he's in a big mess this girl gets pregnant he's got to do something about this so uriah the hittite who is the husband of bathsheba david brings him in wants him to lay with his wife and you know sort of fix things but we try to fix stuff don't we from the very beginning we sowed fig leaves from the very beginning we try to fix our sin try to cover up our sin you can't cover it up you got to get it washed clean god's got to take care of it so you ride the hit type eventually david sends him to the front line and has the husband killed okay so now david is an adulterer and a murderer and in second samuel chapter 12 verse 1 look at this then the lord sent nathan to david prophet and he came to him and said to him this story there were two men in one city one rich and the other poor the rich man had exceedingly many flocks and herds but the poor man had nothing except one little you lamb which he had bought and nourished and it grew up
together with him and with his children it ate of his own food and drank from his own cup and lay in his bosom and it was like a daughter to him and a traveler came to the rich man who refused to take from his own flock to prepare one for the wayfaring man who had come to him but he took the poor man's lamb and prepared it for the man who had come prophet of god telling a story and the sinner listening so david's anger was greatly aroused against the man and he said to nathan as the lord lives the man who has done this shall surely die and he shall restore fourfold for the lamb because he did this thing and because he had no penny then nathan said to david you are the man thus says the lord god of israel i anointed you king over israel and i delivered you from the hand of saul i gave you your master's house and your master's wives into your keeping and gave you the house of israel and judah and if that had been too little i also would have given you much more why have you despised the commandment of the lord to do evil in his sight you have killed uriah the hittite oh i love prophets [Music] and i love preachers of righteousness i love pastors who are not afraid of their people [Music] i love pastors [Music] who are not ashamed of the whole truth i love pastors who will call sin sin [Music] even if it means losing the biggest giver in the church i love pastors dear jesus some of you are watching at home the reason you're not happy is because god's not happy the reason you're not happy and you've got all kinds of stuff but you're not happy with yourself because you've wavered and the truth has been set to the side you just give enough truth to make the people happy [Music] but you don't share the whole truth nathan as he's sharing this david could have pulled out a sword and sliced off
his head [Music] shut up nathan get out of my life this is david man of god help us jesus help us to return to the god of our fathers and steve played this and then he shared this and this is an excerpt of what he shared right after this and it's it's powerful because david responded you see the shoe fit and david in verse 13 he goes i have seen and nathan said the lord's gonna forgive you he has forgiven the iniquity of your sin but i left that out we left it out on purpose you want to know why we left it out because in america when someone is confronted they just leave the church they'll go find another church where they're not confronted is anybody paying attention you'll just find another place down the road but david responded correctly now sin is anything that jesus wouldn't do if you're here tonight and it's adultery homosexuality drug addiction alcoholism pornography internet porn whatever it is when i give this altar call in a few minutes respond don't expect tomorrow you don't have tomorrow this next one's from thursday night john kilpatrick scott's saying to us in this hour and it grieves my heart for so many people in so many christian settings that goes to church sunday after sunday and the preacher will never address what's going on he's afraid to he's afraid of the big tithe players that sits on the second row friend let me tell you something once you become afraid of the pew the pulpit has just been painted and devoured you can't be afraid of who's in the in the pew let me tell you something i i developed a saying a long time ago and i've lived by it all my life and it's this you deserve what you tolerate if you tolerate hell in the pew you're
gonna have it in your church and you deserve it every bit of it because you tolerated it if i found out there was a homosexual in the choir i couldn't rest till i got him out if i found out there's a lesbian we're on the worship team i couldn't rest so i got her out if i found out somebody in the sunday school department and somebody on the board was in adultery i couldn't rest till i dealt with them then i tried to restore them yes but i would not let it go why because i'm a custodian of the presence of god [Music] listen to me you're not just a preacher you are a custodian god has called you to be a custodian of god's presence that means if you know something's going on in the church and something threatens the presence of god and you don't deal with it god's going to hold you accountable and if that dove flies it's your i always had this consciousness in my heart when i pastored brownsville before revival during revival and after revival that god trusted revival in my care and i was not afraid of any man i wasn't afraid to deal with the rich or the poor the intelligent or the ignorant or what color their skin was i'd deal with them why because i i cared more about god's presence than i did letting somebody offend his presence and me stand idly by i tell you what friend if i don't have but 50 and a tenth down by the river and i've got god's presence so be it so be it i'd rather have 50 in a tent down by the river and have the power of god and the presence of god that have 5 000 in a cathedral downtown are you listening to me i pastored a big church and i want to tell you something it's not what it's cracked up to be it's not what it's cracked up to be i've learned one thing and it's this give me the presence of god if it's just me and the lord give me the presence of god and there's a lot of people that will make you believe they love the presence of god until it comes and they're gone and i say adios amigos maybe we'll see again maybe we won't amen i'm getting mean now i gotta hurry cause david responded and i just wanted you to hear those things because i wanted you this morning to see that uh there are men of god out there who aren't afraid to share the truth amen and i want you to know that sometimes you know i think i get accused of being hard but i'll tell you what i love people and i want people to be right with the lord you know because i know what's available to us
but it's only available if we're hungry and thirsty for righteousness it's only available if we're ready and we make ourselves ready so the see you know i know this how many of you let me just ask you this how many of you in in church services that we've had how many of you really felt the presence of god in in meetings that we've had let me see your hands everybody in here now i want to tell you something right there that right there just tells me that god is hearing our prayers because more than anything i want the presence of god in our church service touching people's hearts refreshing and and dealing with believers correcting believers in their hearts and their minds um people that may be backslidden or away from the lord or not walking where they should be that that god when they come in not only do they hear me dealing with the word or preaching the word about certain things but they have the per they feel the presence of god and he's working on their hearts how many of you can say that since you've been coming to this church that that god has pushed you through his presence and through the word god has pushed you closer to himself how many of you would say that everybody in here that is the sign of of a true church and god moving in our midst and i want to tell you that if we want to keep his presence if we want to keep his presence and his glory and we want to take that presence and that glory to other people and out into the community and i want to tell you god told me that i was to go to the university and begin to preach and i'm talking about am i talking about witness one-on-one i'll do that too but god has told me to stand there and preach almost like john the baptist i am going to stand there and preach god's word and i have seen visions of the glory of god descending there i have seen visions of god moving and i just know that god's about to move outside of this church in a powerful way what we have to do god has made us now we are this church is the base a church is really not just supposed to be a blessing club right a church is supposed to be a base of operations it's a military base now i want to tell you what we've been riding on thus far we've been riding on god's grace and mercy because what god's been doing in in all of our lives is trying to get us cleaned up trying to get us hungry trying to impart the vision for more of god and revival and souls really saved and and the fear of god returning to the church into the world and and i want to tell you that i believe i believe that god has started to get that across to some of you but if we're going to take this thing to the next level there's two things that we've got to have to take this to the next level and the two things that we've got to have if we want more of the glory of god and to fulfill his plan is we've got to have holiness in our lives and we've got to have a passionate prayer life
so there's two things now i know i've been preaching on holiness and and repentance now since we've been in this church and last week i was on the subject of holiness and we're going to continue that because holiness let's just put it this way holiness and prayer these two things are these are the pathways it's the pathway to intimacy with god it's the pathway to the glory of god the church world right now has deceived itself in believing that they can approach god that they can say that they're drawing near to god and go after god and have all kinds of compromises and uncleanness in their lives and they think they're approaching god there's a difference between holy fire and between strange fire in leviticus we see that that nadab and abihu who was aaron's sons they were the priests they had been instructed clearly by the lord how to approach him but one one night they decided or one day they decided to have a few drinks they decided to have a few drinks and put fire in their sensors and go before the lord and approach the lord in a way that he had not commanded them and guess what a fire came out from god but it wasn't a holy fire it was a fire that came out and destroyed them the same fire that will purify you and make you better if you're going where you need to go with god is the same fire that'll end up destroying you if you are trying to say i'm i'm drawing near to god but you have all this compromising sin in your life holy fire is coming and god's just saying he wants his people to understand see holiness for a lot of people has just been a religious word we were talking about this last night kevin said that's the way he thought about it for a long time that holiness was just a word that that it was just a religious word and it sounded good but it really wasn't attainable and as i said last week when i talked about holiness i said holiness is not a bad word just because there are churches out there that have said you know to women you can't wear makeup and your hair's got to be all the way down to the floor and you've got to you know you've got to do this and you've got to do that and and and they've so separated themselves from all of the world that they can't impact the world that's not what i'm talking about but there is a level that we have to separate ourselves from some things and touch not the unclean thing so we're going to be on this subject and i want to i want to basically go into i want you to turn this is the scripture that i told you to turn to last week that we never got to i want you to turn to second corinthians chapter 6. and i don't know what we're going to call this message today the way the way to god the highway of holiness i don't know what we're going to call it but ii corinthians
second corinthians chapter six and i don't know about you guys but you know i i read the book of acts and i see the fire of god descending in the holy spirit descending on the 120 in the upper room i see the fire of god come down upon him so the glory so strong that it's visible they see the fire on their heads and these people are so on fire these people are so touched by the holy spirit that 120 very quickly in the glory of god and in the power of god very quickly within one day go from being 120 to 3 120. when the when we attain when we get god to step down in the glory of god to come down in fullness in a strong way the the sis the not just the church will be impacted but the world will be impacted and i don't know about you but i am hungry if there's how many of you just hungry and thirsty really deep down you want more of god in your life than you have right now then i'm telling you today what i'm about to show you this is the way it is the highway of holiness is the way to god it is the way to intimacy everything else in christianity that is not going after this glory and by the way of holiness by way of purity of heart by way of hunger and desperation for god anything that's not going that way is the same thing as nadab and aby who he's decided to approach god the wrong way we have churches all over the place that say they love jesus but they don't obey jesus we have people all the time that say i'm anointed and i'm a minister and i'm this and i'm that but then they're watching filth you know what i'm saying this is what i'm talking about we have got to quit being two different people now i think for the most part in here that that has already begun to happen in your lives but i have got to continue to show you this is this is not just what i think that's why i played this stuff this morning from steve hill and john kilpatrick these guys had a revival in a church for five years where the glory of god was present and the fear of god was present and i was there myself for many years i went once a week for a while and i know and i watched people come in sinners and backsliders and lukewarm christians and i watched them go to the altars every night by the thousands in tears and weeping and repenting i heard the messages i know what it takes to see god move and if we want a move of god a revival in auburn alabama we want to see the glory of god there's got to be a group of people that understands this word right here is holiness and purity and separation and and separation unto god and separating themselves from some things in this world so that they can draw near to god hear his voice and do what he says and walk in the power of god and be an example of who jesus is we need some people that people can look at and go he
is a true christian she is a true christian there is no compromise in their life and let me tell you something the hidden lives of christians the hidden things are about to get exposed there listen you can't only play with with sin in secret but so long before it actually it finally gets exposed in public and god's about to deal with you i i'm just going to say this it's just all over me i feel there are going to be some ministers you're going to see some ministers in the area fall you're going to see some ministers on the national scale fall because god's getting ready to show who's serving him who is approaching him in holiness and who is approaching him flippantly with compromise in their lives he's about to judge it and i'll prove this in the word here in just a second but second corinthians let's read this second corinthians chapter six just so you'll see it's new testament and i'm not making this stuff up some people will say nate have been about here that was old testament god didn't do that anymore he didn't kill anybody for approaching him wrong in his glory yeah like i said weeks ago ananias and sapphira sure did that was new testament fooling around in the glory of god to get you killed all right let's read this god loves us but he's serious about his holiness let's start reading we're going to read it verse oh we'll start reading let's see oh there's just so much good here um i'll just start it it verse 14 he says be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness and what communion has light with darkness and what concord has christ with belial now the word belial is an interesting term and i just say this i looked it up in the hebrew when there were men of belial around david and literally the word belial there i'll just give this to you means mixture in the hebrew mixture men of mixture what's that mean men who seemed like they had righteousness in their life sometimes but then had wickedness in their life mixture mixing it up okay but he says what concord has christ with below what part has he that believeth with an infidel what agreement has the temple of god with idols for you are the temple of the living god as god has said i will dwell in them and walk in them and i will be their god and they shall be my people wherefore or for that reason come out from among them and be separate saith the lord and touch not the unclean thing and i will receive you and i will be a father unto you and you shall be my sons and daughters saith the lord almighty and seven verse one he says and and of course when this was written it didn't have chapters and verses in it so it's a
continuation of the thought so he says separate yourself touch not the unclean thing and so he says having therefore these promises dearly beloved let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of god is that in your bible anybody have a different translation tell me what it says that term perfecting holiness in the fear of god somebody's read it out okay perfecting holiness out of reverence for god anybody else have a different one but actually yes sir what's it say amen bringing holiness to completion actually the word perfection to me is another word or perfecting holiness would be maturing maturing in holiness now think about this perfecting holidays and actually the word here the greek word for the fear of god is the greek word phobos or phobia where we get that from the man know what that means sound familiar it means to fear it means to have terror it means to respect beyond just reverence it means to be trembling and shaking so he says here having therefore these promises now what promises the promises he just he just told us he said don't what what is the temple of god me and you why why should we have any agreement with idols or idolatry why should we have any any agreement or fellowship with mixture of wickedness and then he says now he said god said i will be their god let's read this let's look at this real quick he said i will what the promises he made god said in verse 16 he said i will dwell in them boy that's good right there he said i will dwell in them and look at the next thing and walk in them oh my goodness see dwell in them is just god being in you and with you walking in you is god doing his works through you okay he said i will be in them and i will walk in them well that's a good promise and he says and they shall be my people i will be their god and they shall be my people for that reason for these promises come out from among them be separate touch not the unclean thing and another promise i'll receive you somebody say this with me touch not the unclean thing say it touch not the unclean thing and i will receive you there's two sides to every coin what what is the flip side of that touch the unclean thing and what i will not receive you don't you want god to receive you
well then you have to be on the road of holiness you have to be on the path of perfecting holiness in the fear of god and the word holiness itself means separation unto god it means consecration unto god it means setting yourself apart as different that there are some things that you can't do there's some places you can't go there's some things you can't look at there's some things that you change to be different you set yourself apart and consecrate yourself to god so that you can be washed and cleansed and walk in that holiness so that god can be with you and in you and walk in you and receive you and you can be his son or his daughter and you can do the work he's called you to do it cannot be done in the kingdom of god the true work of god cannot be done without holiness in your life without perfecting it in the fear of god i know right now that most christians in america do not fear god and they do not perfect holiness what they say is jesus died for me and the blood of jesus washed me i got saved when i was 11 and so i'm holy while they're continually touching the unclean things no that's why he said here paul speaking to christians dearly beloved having these promises cleanse let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and the spirit you know what that means let's put it in modern terms get rid of the pornography get rid of the nudity and get rid of the movies get rid of some of this stuff perfect holiness in the fear of god right now i've been talking about this stuff but i want you to see this this word is important now i read the definition last week right did anybody do y'all remember that i know y'all weren't here the definition of holiness i'm going to reread it before we go further here's the definition from both the strong's and the greek lexicon it is the word and and i quoted this from the verse in hebrews 12 verse 14 when it says without holiness no man will see the lord nobody so this word brother if the if the bible says without holiness no man will see the lord it's a pretty important word yet it's ignored pretty important word though holiness without holies no man will see the lord so let's go let's read the definition it is the the greek word hagiasmos it means purification the state of purity it is separation unto god the resultant state the behavior befitting those separated the sanctification resulting in abstaining from fornication there are
two other greek words which are translated as holiness but must be distinguished from this word hagiasmos and that the difference is the other words have are the attribute of holiness but this word means the state of being sanctified not a process but the result of the process boy just like i shared last week i run into one of those football players on the campus and i ask him you know are you living a holy life in the sexual area of your life he said i'm trying i said no and no such thing as trying either you're doing it or you're not doing it when it comes to holiness it's not this process when it comes to sin that will damn your soul it is you confess it and you forsake it there is no process here that's what he's saying holiness this type of holy is what we're talking about that no man will see the lord is not a process it's the result of a process that should have been dealt with a few weeks of you being saved or maybe even the same day if we truly understand salvation salvation means to turn from sin and follow jesus the problem is i don't think we've truly understood salvation so we think holiness is a process no get born again if you truly get born again and on fire for god and you've truly got born again and repented the right way that means you understand there's certain things it's got to stop they got to stop i got to get right with god i got to be right with god i got to be holy we're going to we're going to read some more scriptures but it's the result of a process not the process and listen to this here's the other part of this definition it is not only denoting the activity of god's justification in christ for the sinner but it is the result of that justification of the sinner in making him just and the sinner recognizing the rights of god on his life therefore hagiasmos means not only the activity of the holy spirit to set men apart but the also the enabling him to be holy as god is holy that is straight from the strong's and the greek lexicon so this word doesn't just mean jesus died for me and i believe in jesus and i'm holy no it means that jesus died for me i confessed my sin to him and he washed me but i am also cleansing myselves and making sure that i am obeying and walking in obedience holiness without holiness no man will see the lord and i put this you know i i recently put this on my facebook that i i said i don't understand how so many christians don't understand just basic principles of holiness you know what we don't need to be talking about our sexual escapades in the past
and laughing and joking about them ephesians 5 right foolish jesting filthy talking that's an issue right we don't need to be doing that i mean it's just basic things i sit back and go christians don't just don't get christians that don't mind cinemax and showtime in the house and when you flip by them see just having them there when you flip by flip flip flip it there it is the naked people there's the naked people you get what i'm saying and here's what a lot of parents don't realize you think your kids went to bed some nights the channels with the naked people no they get up and watch those things you know how i know that because i did it a lot of things that uh we think we know about kids huh holiness are y'all with me too hard this morning holiness and i'll show you the way to the glory of god go go with me to the book to the book of isaiah isaiah 35. i can feel this this morning you know this is a shame i'll tell this story as y'all are turning there when i was pastoring the church in montgomery and we'd only been we'd only been going about six months and um well maybe six seven eight months i don't know but we had we had moved from the hotel we were meeting in we had rented a building and my biggest tithers in the church were rhema these two i guess you know 50 something these two rhema graduates okay graduated from rhema bible training center knew the word should have known the word right and they had been coming to church for the whole time right right after probably by the third service they'd been coming to church and and i'll never forget this because this man went to rhema and i know what kenneth hagin believes on the once saved always saved issue and the eternal security issue and kenneth hagin believes you can be you can backslide and fall away from god and be lost forever i mean he believed that he taught he taught that and so these rhema graduates you know i preached strong i was preaching strong back then this was in 1995 1996 i hadn't changed the message okay god's changed me a lot but i hadn't changed you don't change the truth it's the same
right and i remember him coming into my office one day and well here's what happened i let him teach a sunday school class before church one sunday morning first time what does he start teaching once you're saved you're always saved no matter how you live not a good thing to do with me as pastor he knew what i believed it was in our statement of faith he knew what i preached directly went against my authority and what the church believed and i called a 50 year old man in my office when i'm 20 something and set him down and said this is not going to happen they were the biggest tithers in the church i mean big money i said it's not going to happen i said this is not the word of god it is error it is not truth and it's not going to be preached in this church you know what he told me he said people don't want to hear what you're preaching you they they you're preaching that holiness stuff you're preaching that repentance stuff you're preaching that stuff about about living right and all this stuff and this it's grace man he goes people don't want to hear what you're preaching that's from 1947 i said well i guess what i said the ones that are here do and i said if you want to do that why don't you go to the baptist church down the road and leave us alone so he left he didn't want to hear anything about holiness everybody wants to hear grace love mercy guess what it's there when you understand this when you understand this word holiness and the fear of god then god says you know what i can do with them i can give them grace and i can give them mercy why would god give grace and mercy to someone who doesn't really care to respect him no this is what we don't understand those who don't care to honor and respect god are not going to get mercy and grace they are going to get judgment and wrath the bible tells us does it not that the wrath of god abides on the children of disobedience phew the wrath of god's coming but look at this isaiah 35 isaiah 35 is a powerful talks about the path matter of fact in my bible the heading says the path of holiness and it talks about a highway and we're going to read the whole chapter here so i want you to follow along with me because i believe that this is a word from god about the end times that god wants to show his glory he wants his glory to be seen matter of fact hold that hold isaiah 35 i want you to see isaiah 60 real quick so you'll see this will set it up better isaiah 60. behold 35 coming right back to it isaiah 60. i want you i want you to see
that this is talking about the last days that we're living in powerful scripture here don't we want the glory of god to arise upon us right all right isaiah 61-5 this is a verse of scripture god gave me real strong back in 1989. he says arise shine for thy light has come and the glory of the lord is risen upon thee for behold the darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people but the lord shall arise upon thee and his glory shall be seen upon thee and the gentiles or the unsaved shall come to the light to thy light and kings to the brightness of your rising lift up your eyes round them out and see all they gather themselves together they come they come to thee your son shall come from far and your daughters will be nursed at your side then at that time you will see and flow together and your heart shall fear and be enlarged because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee and the forces of the gentiles or the resources of gentiles shall come so god's saying arise and shine get up and let the glory of god shine through you because there's darkness coming on the earth and gross darkness on the people now back in isaiah 35 he says this the wilderness and the solitary place this is verse 1 the wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them for who is he talking about the people that will arise in the glory of god he says the desert and the wilderness shall rejoice and blossom as the rose it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing the glory of lebanon shall be given unto it the excellency of carmel and sharon look at verse that into that verse they shall see the glory of the lord and the excellency of our god and this is what he tells you god's going to move in the earth before he comes back the question is are we going to be with him working with him and on his side when he's doing it god is moving and he's going to move in a greater way are we going to get on board well this is telling us how to say they will see the glory of the lord and the excellency of our god so therefore strengthen ye the weak hands and confirm the feeble knees say to them that are fearful of heart be strong fear not behold your god will come with vengeance even god with the recompense he will come and save you so he's saying god will come with vengeance god is coming to judge the earth but he will save you you see what i'm saying if you're on his side here we go let's keep going with this this is good then the eyes of the blind shall be opened and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped then shall the lame man leap as the heart and the tongue of the dumb shall sing for in the wilderness shall waters break out in streams in the desert boy if this is not a a promise of revival not just the the spiritual eyes and ears of people being opened but but
we will see miracles god's saying i want to pour out miracles again i want to do great signs and wonders and he said i'm going to move and the and the eyes of the blind will be open and the ears of the deaf will hear and he says look it's just powerful he says i will i will cause what waters to break out in streams in the desert the man the river of god flowing right let's keep going verse seven he says in the parts ground shall become a pool and the thirsty land water in the habitation of dragons or devils where each lay shall be grass and reeds and rushes now look at look at verse 8 and a highway shall be there and away and it shall be called the way of holiness the unclean shall not pass over it but it shall be for those for the wayfaring men though fools shall not air therein and i gotta stop right there he said there's gonna be a highway there's going to be a way and it's a way of holiness and i love this i told this to kevin last night i said when it says there and this the king james puts it nicely that though fools shall not air therein that means you don't you know you might even be stupid you might even be a little slow or ignorant but if you have holiness in your life and you're on that way and on that road of holiness you will not stumble and truthfully we're all kind of stupid we need the wisdom of god amen we need god's help god's revelation so he says even if you don't know everything you need to know and i know some of you wrestle with that i don't know everything i need to know but god says but if you're on this road this way of holiness even if you're foolish you won't stumble boy not good one thing i remember learning that that david said this in psalm 119 he said i know more than all my teachers and all my ancients because i keep your word it's an amazing thing of how revelation and understanding and wisdom comes to you when you simply choose to be holy before god it is unreal i remember as i began to walk with god at 19 and 20 and 21 years old living a holy life separating myself from the things of the world and i remember as i studied the bible god began to open it up to me the understanding people would stand in awe when i would teach and preach sometimes they would go how in the world does a young man of 21 years of age know this stuff and i would just be it's god want the shortcut the shortcut in the kingdom is the road
the highway of holiness holiness y'all with me let's read the rest of it just to finish it off verse 8 we'll read again and the highway shall be there and the way it shall be called the way of holiness and who won't pass over it the unclean but it shall be for those the wayfaring men you know what that means people that are on a journey with god right there this place is not your home and though fools shall not air therein no lion shall be there what's the lion talking about this particular lion no lion shall be there right the devil walks about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour he says no lion shall be there or ravenous beast shall go up thereon it shall not be found there but the redeemed who shall walk there the redeemed shall walk there oh that's good right there and the ransom to the lord shall return and come to zion what does zion represent that's where david had the ark of the covenant and the glory of god was present and he says the redeemer will walk on this road of holiness and the ransom shall return and where are they headed they are headed to zion the place of the presence of god the place of the ark of god so the way of holiness is the way to the presence of god it is the way to the glory of god it is a way to to the place where there is freedom in worship you want to be free to in worship be holy be pure of heart be pure of body be pure of mind you want to be have good worship you want to have the presence of god you want to encounter the glory of god be holy and you will have more of god than you can stand i remember on october in october of 1987 after i re came back to the lord and i mean i completely turned from all of my sin the drugs the alcohol the sex the pornography i turned from all that and i gave my life to jesus and it was just a few months it went you know it was in june by october one night i was praying at two in the morning or three in the morning and the glory of god began to shine in my room visibly was one little lamp on in the corner the light was coming from this corner the power and the presence of god was so strong that i thought being a young christian that the rapture was about to take place because the glory of god was so strong and as that light began to shine in the room i could see it with both my physical and spiritual eyes i saw jesus in the midst of that glory and the holy spirit over him like a dove it was the most powerful vision and encounter with god i've ever had the power was so strong that i had to tell god to ease off all right because i felt like my body couldn't take anymore you have to back off and it lasted for i don't know 10 or 15 minutes
and i remember seeing jesus then and i knew that the glory that i saw was the father hidden behind him and i saw jesus in the midst of that glory and the holy spirit i couldn't see but i could see the wings the light was too bright all i could see was the wings of the holy spirit as a dove hovering over him you know what jesus said to me then now this is 22 years ago and he said to me in that vision he said waste no time but there's little time left to spare the power of god i want to tell you that encounter with god changed my life but it came because i decided that i was going to be holy and obedient to god and that i wasn't going to play this halfway lukewarm christian game that people are playing because when i came to jesus folks i was living in sin and i had the world in front of my feet i could have been rich and famous and i remember when the lord spoke to me and he said son you can have everything the world has to offer and go to hell this was in june of 1987. he said you can have everything the world has to offer and go to hell or you can surrender your life to me and live forever and i remember as i sat there and thought about that and had a vision of jesus hanging on the cross this way and a vision of a road going this way and that road it was a road that forked and i saw jesus hanging on the cross for me the blood everything and i saw this way and i saw the the alcohol bottles on the side in the darkness and i saw this and i knew that was the road of darkness and destruction and god said you pick you choose which road and i said to him that day and i'm in it i said lord either i'm going all the way with you or i'm not going at all i do not understand this indecision folks want the world go but quit saying you're christian you want jesus then do it his way i'm going to tell you i accepted that road that was in june that encounter with god was in october and when i came back to opelika in auburn in november in december i led my friends to the lord i led my family to jesus why because they said dean has changed you know what my friend said my friend craig rivers who's now an assembly of god pastor up in north carolina you know what he said about me when he saw me the first time after i i'd had been saved and washed and cleansed and living and had this encounter with god you know what he said when he looked at me the first time and this was my best friend in high school elementary school junior high he said when i looked into your eyes he said i can't explain it but i saw
light he said it looked like somebody it looked like you got cleaned up from the inside out he said you look completely different and they you know i went and hung out with him over at craig's house a bunch of people they were drinking beer and i just they tried to offer me no no thank you shot basketball with him and left then they heard craig heard that i was going to preach at a church and this was too much for him to take dean is going to preach in a church i have to go so billy had already gotten saved billy was one of our best friends he's now his youth pastor and billy and i and craig drove to montgomery for me to preach in the church that i preached in and craig got saved that night we drove back he heard the word he saw the glory the change in me we got back from the the message we got back from the church we me and billy talked about jesus all the way home he didn't say a word sitting in the basement we got back to billy's house and craig said i want this jesus y'all talking about and we knelt down on the floor and we led him to jesus right there this is what i'm talking about the path the way of holiness brings the glory of god on you and listen we're living guys we're living in the last of the last days of the last hours of the last days whether we have five years or 10 years or 20 years or 30 years let me tell you i don't want to go out as some lukewarm watered down unclean compromising christian with no power causing other people to stumble no i want to go out on fire for god holy on fire showing forth the power of god through my life leading people to jesus turning many to righteousness i don't want to go out of here some weak defeated sin ridden so-called christian no it isn't worth it just don't want to do it and i hope i hope you see what i'm getting at the fire of god turn to malachi chapter three we got a little bit of time last book in the old testament right before matthew when john the baptist came preaching before jesus what'd he say
prepare the way of the lord jesus is coming he was saying the messiah is coming you better prepare him what did he say make your path straight right make your path straight repent why he said because he's coming to baptize you with the holy ghost and fire now how many of us want to see jesus really come to his church in power right guess what the promise is in the last days that before he comes physically he is going to come in power in a mighty revival across the world now there are people that say right now in the church world charismatic pentecostal church world baptist methodist they say they want revival i heard somebody told me they visited lakeview the other day and there's rumblings and people talking about revival well i hope so i hope they want it there's a question do you really want because it's not what you think sometimes some people get in their minds we're just gonna have a big party and a bunch of people are gonna join our club and that's revival now when the presence of god comes things can get uncomfortable malachi chapter 3 look what he says verse 1 behold i will send my messenger and he shall prepare the way before me now before i read this let me say this we have a prophecy in malachi 4 that god says before the coming of jesus there will be elijah will come again when jesus came the first time it says that before the messiah would come elijah would have to come and the pharisees argued about this but jesus spoke to his disciples and said john the baptist came in the spirit and power of elijah so before jesus comes his second time he said i'm going to raise up another and i believe it's not just one elijah i believe it is a group of elijahs okay we can talk about that another time but the point is is that these these prophecies have dual meanings because they speak of his first coming and his second coming they speak of what happens before he came the first time and before he's coming the second time we'll just leave it at that for now but let's read it says behold i will send my messenger and he shall prepare the way before me and the lord whom you seek shall suddenly come to his temple even the messenger of the covenant who you delight in and he shall come saith the lord of host now he's saying yeah jesus is going to come to his temple jesus is going to visit his church with fire and with glory before he comes back and he says even the even the one you delight in you say you delight in jesus right but who
verse two who may abide the day of his coming who will stand when he appears for he is like a refiner's fire like a fuller soap and he will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver he shall purify the sons of levi the ministers and purge them as gold and silver that they may offer unto the lord an offering in righteousness then shall the offering of judah and jerusalem be pleasant unto the lord as in the days of old as in the former years and look at this verse 5 and i will come near to you to judgment and i will be a swift witness against the sorcerers against the adulterers against the false swears against those that oppress the hireling in his wages those who oppress the widow and the fatherless that turn aside the stranger from his right and those who do not fear me so god says pretty plainly here you say you want god to come we want jesus to come and visit in a move and he's in a manifest presence and the lord is saying yeah that's good but who will be able to stand when he comes when jesus really comes when there's really revival jesus comes with fire that purifies and those in that move of god will either humble themselves and submit to god and be purified and made holy or they will resist and jesus will have to be a swift witness against them and bring judgment on the sorcerers and the adulterers and the liars and those who don't fear god anymore psalm 36 says a man sin tells me one thing that he has no fear of god before his eyes the fire are you getting more holy holiness is not a bad word yo purity is not a bad word see i didn't say one more scripture did i or did i let's read one more thing first peter chapter one i promise y'all close on this holiness is good thank god for his blood amen but we don't stop there we don't stop at salvation if that was true jesus ought to save you and kill you right get you saved at that moment so you're washed you're cleaned up ready to go that much boom kill you did that was true see we wouldn't have to
talk about this word right but because we have a free will because we're constantly tempted because there's this society of ours is constantly vexing our souls our righteous souls and trying to make us unclean god's finding a and let me tell you something you know what temptation is about temptation and all this stuff that's around us it's really god will you say why does god allow some of this stuff to go on he allows it to find out who's going to stand up for him you know why that parable about those who worked all day and then he went at the 11th hour and he called the people to work for him remember that and he paid them that worked that one hour the last hour the same that he paid the people worked all day you know why because the people living in that last hour got a lot more hell to deal with people living long time ago the days of of knowing everything they didn't have tv in the internet you know what i'm saying some of them would probably have some of them had to travel you know by camel and on foot you know for two or three days to actually see a naked belly dancer somewhere but no we can just click and change the channel we got a lot more hell around us now you stand for god now get the same reward those who stood for god centuries ago amen first peter first peter oh somebody else say it's good preaching thank you pastor dean for not being afraid of us amen i love y'all but i'm not afraid of you i ran off the big you know when in my church before i ran off the two biggest tithers we had you know that one of them made a racial comment one time to me and you know we had a we had blacks and whites in our church and they made a racial comment to me and said something about i know they'll be in heaven but and i said straight up to him right in front of everybody i said you won't i said you won't unless you get rid of that racism and prejudice in your heart they quit coming to church suited me just fine man and keep their filthy prejudice money all right let's read on
chapter one just want to read a few verses here oh we'll start at verse six he says speaking of the faith that we're in he says wherein you rejoice though now for a season if need be you are in heaviness through manifold temptations that the trial of your faith being much more precious than of gold that perishes though it might be tried with fire might be found unto the praise and honor and glory at the appearing of jesus christ whom having not seen you love in whom though now you see him not yet believing you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory so he's talking about the glory again he says receiving the end of your faith even the salvation of your souls of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you searching what or what manner of time the spirit of christ which was in them did signify when it testified beforehand the sufferings of christ and the glory that should follow just think about this the sufferings of christ and the glory that should follow you know where we are we're in that jesus has already suffered we're supposed to be in the glory that follows right let's read on verse 12 unto whom it was revealed that not unto themselves but unto us that they ministered the things talking about the prophets ministered these things to us which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the holy ghost sent down from heaven which things are so awesome that angels desire to look into them now look at verse 13 here's what he says he's talking about this wonderful faith that we have that jesus has given to us look what he says wherefore for that reason gird up the lords of your mind and be sober and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of jesus christ as obedient children not fashioning yourselves according to your former lust in your ignorance but as he which has called you is holy so be holy in all manner of conversation or behavior because it is written be ye holy for i am holy is that in your bibles god said be ye holy as i am holy now if god tells you to do something can you do it in jesus name amen you can do it you see what i mean the world lies to you and here's the thing if you don't believe that you can perfect holiness in the fear of god that you can mature in holiness that you can be pure and walk in purity of heart and mind and that i mean i'm not talking about never do anything wrong but i'm talking about the big stuff y'all i'm talking about not not letting something become a lifestyle
right so i'm not talking about that that we can get some sinless perfection i want that to be known real clearly but you can be pure man he said be holy for i am holy knowing if you keep reading i'm just going to shorten this a little bit but he goes on to say knowing that you are not redeemed with corruptable things of silver and gold but with the precious blood of christ now there's another verse i want to read right here drop down to verse 22 and look at it seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the spirit unto unfeigned love of the brother and see that you love one another fervently with a pure heart fervently being born again not of corruptable seed but incorruptible by the word of god which lives and abides forever but underline you ought to underline this this phrase here seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the spirit who obeying the truth how do you purify your soul brother and what's that verse say though obeying what obeying that's all right obeying that verse says seeing that you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the spirit and that good jesus washes you in his blood but you're walking with him is you purifying continually to purify your soul by obeying the truth and walking in the spirit that's holiness and when the world tries to creep in on you you recognize it and you cut it off right it's not easy to know the people who want more of god in their life you will see them cutting some things off and not just so the preacher can see it because you know what the person you really are is the person you are when you're all by yourself see god tells me some things about you sometimes but he didn't tell me everything you know why wear me out some things i don't want to know sometimes i get too much information right but sometimes he tells me certain things
because he wants me to help you but ultimately even though god talks to me sometimes it doesn't mean i know everything going on in your life but just remember that character is who you are when you're alone not who you are in a church service not who you are in front of the pastor who you are when you're alone so don't deceive yourselves and listen i want to say this in closing about this issue of holiness i know that some people have been wounded by stuff that happened to them there's women that's been raped there's children and that are now adults that are been sexually abused and things of that nature and there are things that people people have things that have happened that have caused weaknesses and things and i'm not saying that anybody and that's why this church i believe is balanced it's one thing to preach on holiness but don't help anybody but that's why we believe in deliverance and and healing and inner healing of emotions and spiritual things because you know what sometimes you need some help i just want to say there's help in jesus there's help in in in your church but some some you know something like some sexual issue or pornography issue or drinking or there's there's christians that abuse prescription drugs and keep deceiving themselves thinking that i'm not abusing it the doctor's writing a prescription but they do i've sat down with people i've sat down and counseled with some people that aren't even in our church and and i i have been amazed at what's going on in some christians lives hidden away and they need they need a couple of things and you understand holiness in the fear of god they understand that there's help if they got something that they can't seem to quit there is help jesus will help amen so that's the good news this morning but ultimately what we're all responsible and i'll tell you if this church and i close with this if this church will be holy and we'll begin to pray for god to do what he wants to do in this city we're about to see a great move of the holy spirit that i know the welsh revival it may just be a few of us here but the relish revival started with just about 19 people 19 people got on fire for god and prayed it down and 100 000 people got saved in one year right nothing is impossible with our god nothing is too hard for god
with every temptation there's a way of escape i'm going to ask you i'm going to ask you to be praying like you've never prayed i want to say this too your prayer life your time alone with god determines everything see god god has spoken to me that right now that the majority of us really aren't praying as we ought to be praying not enough not long enough not passionate enough there's still some lukewarmness and some laziness that god's got to get out of us and that's what i meant earlier when i said we've been cruising a little bit as a church on grace and now it's time to heat up the fire that's why i named this that's why i believe god gave me the name fire and grace years ago his grace our fire we choose to be passionate we choose you know to turn off the tv and go spend an hour in prayer we choose to take some time and read the word and meditate on it we choose to say no to some things i'm just going to ask you be praying for revival tonight we're going to be meeting at our house i sent the text out to everybody i think i got to get your cell number i don't have it in my phone and um but we're going to be meeting at our house at what time did i say six and we're going to share some more of these some excerpts of some things that and pray for revival in auburn and i want you to come if you can let's pray heavenly father we just come to you this morning we thank you god for everything that you are doing and what you're about to do lord i thank you and i praise you and i believe god that you want us now to just according to your word to be holy as you are holy lord you said in john that if we really were looking if we are looking for jesus return that we would purify ourselves even as he is pure if we had the hope in us of the second coming we would purify ourselves even as he is pure god putting your people a hunger and thirst for purity god we know you wash us in the blood but we know also we make choices to walk in agreement with that or not god make us choose or help us choose rather the path of the way of holiness and then lord help us lord deliverance freedom and help us pray help us pray down a move of god
for our community we pray this in jesus name now what we're going to do real quick we're going to take up the offering but as we get ready to do that we're going to listen to one more thing one more thing all right this is a prophetic word that that god gave in the revival during the brownsville revival that i believe i've listened to it several times now and then as we've been working together i've been listening to it several times i believe it is a prophetic word for now and while you get your offering ready we're going to listen to this i want you to uh can you skip forward just to steve's part okay that'll shorten it a bit we into central america he's not coming back it's a word he gave there just had the witness of the holy spirit that [Music] i is the uncertainties of life i'm extremely unstart somewhere [Music] over the last few days there has been a restlessness in my spirit i mentioned to pastor that i feel very unsettled i feel like the ground underneath me is shifting i feel as if something is about to change now the lord knows i love change i thrive on the unknown i enjoy the uncertainties of life i'm extremely uncomfortable when everything is cookie cutter predictable when the earth begins to shift when i hear roots being pulled up out of the ground when i feel the wind on my face blowing in a new direction i like that over the last several days something has been stirring i can't stop moving around there is something on the horizon [Music] something big i can't touch it yet i can't gaze upon it with my eyes but i can feel it it's there and it's moving closer my spirit man is speaking loud and clear he has overridden my carnal nature and is raising his voice the first time i heard my spirit man was 22 years ago he told me when i got saved that i was a child of god my spirit bore witness with god's spirit
that i was god's child now the spirit of the lord is telling this child of god that something's up the lord would say to everyone in this place live unsettled [Music] the lord would say to everyone in this place live unsettled don't sink too deep into the soil of this earth keep your head up and your feet moving stay alert be sober this morning early the lord spoke clearly these two words i'm coming the day of my return is at hand loose yourself loose yourself of any ties that bind if you don't lose yourself i'll help loose you prepare the way in your own heart and then help prepare the way in others i want no obstacles i will have no obstructions i will return for a pilgrim people he said to me let the church know that the day is approaching warn them don't whine and dine them tell them clearly don't mix words my word my water is pure don't taint it make it clear let my people know it's about to happen what is about to occur will change world history nothing will remain the same let the unbelievers let the skeptics let the religious ones know that what they fear the most is about to happen [Music] i'm going to say that again nothing will remain the same let the unbelievers let the skeptics let the religious ones know that what they fear the most is about to happen every fear no demand will be swallowed by the terror of the day ahead fear will overcome fear dread will overcome dread the violence will be overcome by the more violent my final work is at hand my spirit's brewing is about to seize no one will grieve me anymore no one will quench my spirit anymore no one will resist me anymore their days are over let them know my warm season of grace and mercy will soon turn to a chilling winter of judgment and wrath the warm days of my wooing will be exchanged for the fiery days of my vengeance my pleading for the souls of man the passionate cry of the faithful harvesters the unselfish servants of my holy servants all their labor all the
charity all the pain all the suffering it will be over i have heard says the lord the groans of nature i have heard the midnight cry my church has been begging my return my bride has been longing to be with me the plan of the ages has almost reached fruition the tree has borne forth its fruit the fertile soil has yielded the harvest the planting will stop the laborers will leave the sickle will rust it's almost over i'm coming back i will not delay my coming to you so don't delay you're coming to me [Music] jesus we hear you [Music] [Applause] we hear [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you when i say something right now to this group of people everyone within the sound of my voice if you knew what we knew about the rumblings out there there's a rumbling there's a there's a rumbling across the world right now we get the calls we get the emails we get the faxes of what's happening out there it's at the infancy stages at the very beginning and you may marvel but what two years three years that's incredible friend in god's sight he is beginning something right now that's going to culminate in his second coming he's beginning something right now he's getting his bride ready take a look at the church across the world we're not anywhere close to being ready this has got a sweep all over it's gotta sweep from coast to coast it's gotta sweep the finland in germany and japan and australia and russia it's gotta go into south africa south america into central america it's gonna touch every continent in this world [Music] and what he's saying to me and what he's saying to you [Music] this could go on and on we all know that but you need to live as if he's coming back tonight now he's not coming back for a week to church he's not coming back for a helpless church he's not coming back for a stain spotted he's not coming back for a church in adultery he's coming back for a church that's anticipating they're looking they're anticipating his return a bride that's looking up to heaven jesus miranda maradona come back come back come quickly lord come twinkly lord [Music]
anyway something's coming it is coming big there were prophecies about brownsville long before the revival came that a move of god would come pastor young he cho the pastor of the largest church in the history of the world seoul korea god told him in 1991 he had a burden for america and told him to take out a map of the united states and close his eyes and point so he closed his eyes and he pointed and his finger landed on pensacola florida the lord spoke to him and said i'm going to send a revival to the seaside city of pensacola that will be a fire until all of america is consumed by it in 1993 he came to speak at an assembly of god convention and they asked dr cho we've heard a rumor that you said a revival will start in pensacola florida and he said 2000's and i quote no rumor revival will come the revival came in 1995. but the word came that there would be two waves of the brownsville revival there would be two waves of revival that would hit america the first wave hit in 1995 and kind of you know how wave hits and then finally comes to its completion and backs back out but there's another wave coming and i firmly believe that it has something to do with alabama that's why john moved and after traveling around for a season pastor john felt the holy spirit's word was him to be in the state of alabama and so i'm just saying that i believe that a move of god's coming that will dwarf the brownsville revival the question is do we want it bad enough i believe there will be places in the in the united states that will have a mighty move of god and that will be places that will have judgment we saw that didn't we 911 katrina those were just little warnings everything's going to change god did speak to me in december of 2007 and told me five years five years before a major change would hit the united states and it would never be the same again that's before i knew anything about all this 2012 talk and all this crazy stuff with the mayan calendar they were led by demons the mayans were but i do believe that the lord spoke very clearly to me and some other people that i know that five years there would be a major judgment hit the united states that would change our nation forever i don't believe it's the end i don't i it may be the beginning of it but i know that it's going to change america america will be judged for its sin the sins of abortion pornography adultery murder
the homosexuality the homosexual marriage the church accepting homosexuals we're at the final stages of judgment but the good news is that god's going to move before the full outpouring of that why does he do that why does god want to move it's mercy before he strikes down in his wrath so let us be praying the second coming of jesus is upon us the judgment on the church is upon us the judgment of the world is upon us and god's the last i believe harvest is also upon us you will be found on one side of the other so be found on the right side amen [Music] [Music] you are the one to [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] your people need you again [Music] and cleanse [Music]
