morning amen and we need that we don't need to just sing a worship song we need that when we sing it we need to we need to be ready to mean it and I know a lot of us have problems and we have issues and helmets and sicknesses and troubles but you know what the Holy Ghost is bigger than those the Holy Spirit of the living God is upon me amen to bring the good news and when we worship the Lord and Spirit and in truth he moves and and we've got to look beyond those troubles and I understand coming into a house of worship and trying to worship when your heart is just heavy and full and you got stuff on it and you just can't get it off there but you know what you can worship your way out of it I'm telling you you can decide that you're going to let the Lord have his way and then he and then when you do he can move and praise God you know so let's just agree with the Holy Spirit and just sing these words like we mean them amen and he will move I mean he will it's up to him but it's up to us to don't walk to the fountain dip your heart in the stream of life let the pain and the sorrow wash the waves of his mercy Oh as deep cries out to deep we see come Lord she thirsty tip dip your heart in the streams up let the pain and the

this morning we worship Jesus King of Kings and Lord of Lords amen you know what it means to say he's holy means he's not like us that's a simple definition of it he is not like us let me say I'm gonna take a little y'all can be seated this morning welcome everyone fire and grace church I'm gonna take a line from a James Bond movie he told this guy told James Bond he was forced part of the Illuminati we told James Bond you you don't you're a kite dancing in a whirlwind and that's what we are y'all understand it is but by the grace of God that we don't die that we aren't immediately judged for our sin or stupidity whichever comes first and that's something we have to remember man at his best state is all together vanity and when we start thinking any different than that we're in trouble I'm just gonna tell you right now that's where it boils down to this this whole thing of the heart really boils down to as a man thinketh in his heart so is he right and if funny how some people that have a little more money and other people start thinking they're somehow better or some people that think they have a little more education that they're smarter than you think they're better right or you know for a long time and for a lot of people still skin color one skin color another think they're better than the other yet what does the Lord say to us we're all made out of the dirt so you're a dirtbag and just say it I am a dirtbag and no good works you do can cleanse yourself well we got quiet in here no religious works can make you clean and even after you're born again after you surrender to Jesus and you become a new creature in Christ Jesus you can still become a creature that thinks more of itself than it ought to y'all hear me this morning the heart series that we're doing here and this is part six the heart series is really a lot of this overlaps envy the idol of self pride so we're gonna talk about
today pride pride yeah there's I can't remember in Proverbs y'all can look it up real quick but he says only by pride comes contention somebody say only when the Bible says I think it's Proverbs 16 y'all find that real quick and put it up here but only by pride comes contention so every argument every disagreement that there is it's because somebody's in pride pride is operating right and what is pride pride always thinks it's right pride thinks it's right when it's not pride will fight with somebody or something over the wrong thing but let me just tell you this the reason I had old grok for make me this picture is because that's a Bible right there and really it comes down to this anything any thought any idea any belief that you have that exalts itself over the Word of God the written Word of God and I'm talking about the 66 books not any other books anything that exalts itself above this holy Bible the written manifestation of God's will of his nature of his desires of his truth anything that creeps in there to your heart or your mind and exalts itself above this word right here is pride work and it is satanic somebody say satanic you might as well be a Satanist once pride comes in there because that's where it all started folks you don't see this we're gonna go a little journey today before we do that did you find that scripture only by pride comes contention put that up here real quick and then come back there it is only by pride comes contention but with the well advised is wisdom pride when pride cometh what for what comes along with it a fall destruction but why why would God oppose or fight against the proud but give grace to the humble you know the Bible doesn't say he fights against you because you commit adultery no he says
he fights against you when your pride when you think you're all that when you're not when you think you should be doing something that somebody else is doing and you're not or you should have what they have or you should be in the place they're in and then when you start trying to exalt yourself to do that you got to climb over some people you got to step on some people whenever you start trying to exalt yourself and that's where this strife and contention comes from you notice you're not really in arguments with people who are humble and meek and quiet and mild and walk away hard argue with those folks right don't shut me down I'm preaching good all right I'll see if it'll it crumbles oh that's your prideful heart right there just a little illustration to remind you and why do I have the arrows because once you exalt self is when you go down right so let's keep going here we're gonna review this real quick well if this is gonna work Jeremiah 1710 this is the verse passage we start out with nine and ten says here the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked who can know it I the Lord search the heart I try the reins or test the reins in your heart even to give every man according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings Jeremiah 17 9 interesting little note this past week when I looked up the word heart in the Old Testament the word heart appears 666 times in the King James Version which is interesting because it lets you know that the pride the heart of pride the heart of man that is so corrupt and so easily deceived and so wicked is what ultimately leads him to the mark of the beast it started in the garden and it ends with the mark of the beast and God knew this this is no coincidence King James Version the word heart in the Old Testament 666 times just so you remember that's what your heart's all about your heart left to itself following your heart will lead to that you will worship the beast you will worship his image you will submit your knee to the system that's coming you will take the mark of the beast and you will be damned for eternity if you do this is why you
got to get your heart right this is why you've got to allow the Lord to search you and try you and to see if there be any wicked way in you and you have to beg him to root it out of you because if you don't it will deceive you pride will deceive you and it will lead you to this it will always lead you to Satan it will always lead you to sin to Satan to Satan's plan away from God's plan for you can y'all believe that 666 times that blew my mind I was like well there you go and see and I believe God's hand was in the translation in King James Bible I believe God's hand was upon it the numbers don't lie it's too many coincidences it's impossible for these type of things to happen they happen over and over and over and over again but this is to let you know something somebody say I will not follow my heart trust my heart it's deceitful it leads you to Satan as though the Lord be high yet he hath respect unto the lowly the proud he knoweth afar off some of you say well I feel like the Lord's a million miles away well maybe it's cuz you pride in your heart maybe it's cuz you think you're something when you're nothing maybe it's cuz you're striving to be something that God didn't call you to be maybe you can't be satisfied and content with what he's giving you you just want something else always wanting something else mm-hmm getting quite as quiet in here this morning we missing a lot of folks but it's still too quiet Psalm 138 six now here's what Jesus said now think about this right here I made me I made him look like they said after the charade of turin there I wanted to see what they came up with but you said this in Matthew 11 22 30 said come unto me all you that labored are heavy laden and I will give you rest take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am meek and lowly in heart now think about this for a minute Jesus being God in the flesh never sin never sin meaning he was never ever in pride he was lowly of heart because that is how he is now does that mean he was a wimp does that mean Jesus was soft yeah so when Jesus was throwing tables over he was being humble and lonely and hard whoa now that doesn't seem right that doesn't match up no I'm gonna explain something I'm
gonna show you again but here's the deal you were only walking in humility and lowliness of heart when you are walking in obedience to the word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit period for Jesus that day was throwing over tables right for Jesus one day it was looking on the Pharisees it said with anger he was angry at them and one day he called them blind fools thieves whitewashed tubes full of dead men's bones all that was lowliness and meekness of heart because he was doing exactly what the Holy Spirit wanting to do see some of y'all I've had people leave the church they think I mean because I get rid of some problems and some problem people in the church I got three words of that I don't care because I don't answer you oh wait a minute Dean we're in America well I'm sorry that's the form of government we have in this in the in the world not in church I don't answer you I answer to God and when I know what God wants me to do I do it if I waited on you to approve of it would I be pleasing you or pleasing God it's gonna get more quiet in here in a minute but Jesus said I am meek and lowly in heart you shall find rest unto your souls for my yoke is easy my bird and light now this right here I just want you to notice he's talking about his heart think about that the human side of him so see this is not about trying to make men soft or make Christians weak and passive no but do you obey this do you respect this what God said in his book here is 66 books and do you respect what he's saying and do you respect authority we're gonna get into that a little bit too now here's some of the words of course you look up the word meek and what do you end up with humble right I love this because this was explained a little deeper in the Thayer here but it says that in the Old Testament the meek are those holy or completely relying on God rather than their own strength to defend against injustice think about that gentleness or meekness is the opposite of self-assertiveness and self-interest the gentle person is not occupied with
itself at all the gentle person wants to do God's will period what does God say about it what does the Bible say what does the Holy Spirit saying and that's it our opinions are irrelevant our arguments are irrelevant our contending striving pushing our discontentment all that's irrelevant are you doing what God said to do do you believe it do you trust him see a lot of the errors within the church world particularly even the charismatic and Pentecostal were a lot of the demonic faults gifts and miracles and signs and wonders all the the counterfeit demonic is because people refused to be patient and wait on God they wanted those things more than they wanted God's will and they got them oh my don't shout me down pretty good here we go here's what it says meek and lowly of heart miss a means of low degree right deferring to others again being what humble oh yeah now the word pride here if you go to Obadiah 3 and we're gonna I'm gonna show you that in a minute but Obadiah 3 he says this to him just give you a little ahead of time he says the pride of thine heart has deceived you all right the word pride there's this word here Zadon and or Zaldon and it means what arrogance presumptuously proud proud man insolence presumptuous you see that here in the brown driver Briggs lexicon exhibited in disobedience to a priest or judge someone in authority on God's delegated authority but also just simply obedient disobedience to God is a manifestation of pride somebody say that with me disobedience to God is a manifestation of pride let it sink in now let's look at what presumptuously means here presumptuous it means a person or their behavior failing to observe the limits of what is permitted or appropriate God's word has limits boundaries standard right and it has instructions on what is appropriate what's not appropriate so to move past that in any way or to think it unimportant or to
think something else more important is presumptuous it's pride you don't want the boundaries this is this is teenagers problems but guess what my house you better observe the limits and you better know what's permitted and what's appropriate not appropriate I'll help you know now here's one of the definitions very Webster of insolence and I think this is interesting it says disrespectful or argumentative talk given in response to a commander request insolence so when you pop off when God's told you to do something you don't like it say I'm probably in trouble I've been in trouble because I've been complaining since he told me about running for lieutenant governor I don't want to do anything I sound like a teenager but teenagers listen this when you do this to your parents you are being insolent basically you're disrespecting authority and by doing so you're attacking God's authority and you're putting yourself in a place of pride and this is why so many teenagers fall because they live in pride because for some reason when you become a teenager it seems like your mind is consumed with self some people never get out of that stage but that describes it pretty well see this is how I know when somebody starts especially a church member starts talking to me in a way they shouldn't I know oh we got a problem here they come up call me Dean and keep doing it all right not that I have to have the title I just know where your heart is do it to my wife all the time it's not Nancy it's Pastor Nancy I know some of you don't like that but it's biblical and I don't care what you like or do you don't like like we've told our students in the ministry school you do not call me Dean or call her Nancy why because it's the issue of respect and we find out where we put that little rain you know that little bridal on your heart for a second just just a little rule and you can't deal with that and I won't tell you what bugs is still out of me is when I hear younger people not don't that don't say yes sir yes ma'am no sir no ma'am and y'all might not do that in the north but down here it's expected okay it's a sign of respect somebody ordered me I'm about I turned 58 in a few days and if somebody's a little bit older than me guess what I say to them yes sir no sir yes ma'am no ma'am even if I don't like him because it's respect oh here's the Obadiah one and I want to read three through four because
I'm gonna show you we're gonna look at this I've never delved into this in preaching until today but I want you to pay close attention now the prophet Obadiah is speaking to the kingdom of Edom or the descendants of Esau and remember at one point Esau did walk with the Lord this is what everybody forgets and there was a blessing for Esau but he says this he says to Esau he says the pride of thine heart had deceived thee thou that dwell us in the clefts of the rock whose habitation is high that saith in his heart who shall bring me down to the ground though thou exalt thyself as the eagle and though they set thy nest among the stars thence will I bring thee down sayeth the Lord one of the things you see with pride in the heart that's deceived people is that they have this misplaced confidence that they're okay they're in the right spot nothing can bring them down they're in the rock they're hidden in the rock I'm in Jesus some of the worst prideful people in the world go to church every Sunday and claim to be Christians and claim to be in the rock and they say nothing's gonna bring me down and they have no idea the pride that they walk in because they refuse to hear what anything beyond what their little mega church pastor tells them in 30 minutes the Lord said no you think you're secure you think you've got a safe spot up high you think you're hidden in the rock Jesus right you think you're saved are you don't you know that I'm the one the Lord says that searches your heart I know where there's pride and rebellion in there I know exactly where it exists and he said I don't care how secure you think you are you keep walking in that I will bring you down see why did he use the eagle here because the eagle has superior eyesight they think they see you no more than everybody else the eagle has superior speed and ability to use even the wind currents and not even use his energy but to fly and with great speed attack its prey they are very strong so the Eagles got a lot going on speed strength vision he's a lot of Christians I know more than you I have more
knowledge than you oh this one gets me so much get around a bunch of Christians and when you start finding this little battle of who knows more let me just huh we'd like to flash out how much we know our knowledge don't we how much we think we see more than others but let me just say this you might see more than others you might know more than others but if you are proud about it oh the best thing I'm not it's whatever Christian says denial denial denial of what's in here he says even the eagle with his speed his strength his superior vision I'm gonna bring him down a lot of people that see these people that think these Christians think oh I'm in the rock I'm eternally secure no matter what happens you are deceived my friend keep living in sin keep playing with the devil keep living in pride let that pride stay in your heart you know what you should be instead of thinking you're eternally secure no matter how you live you ought to be trembling before the Word of God because the fear of the Lord will cause you to depart from evil the fear of the Lord says my God will I make it I'm so wicked I'm so unclean my evil heart keeps pulling me in the wrong direction I know I could end up Paul said it this way he said what would to me when I preached the gospel that I myself should be a castaway he said it's possible that everything God's done through me all the revelation all the knowledge all the miracles all the churches all the souls say the whole thing he said I could do all this stuff and not make it because Paul knew that he had a wicked heart in him which is why he said in Philippians I don't count myself to have attained anything I've got a press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus what is the high calling just making it there folks hi y'all some of you I'm gonna have a mansion I'm gonna have a crown I'm gonna have this that shows me you got a problem I'm gonna be happy if I can drag myself across the line and just get there I'm gonna be like those marathon runners that are just stumbling and falling around and you know saying I just want to make it and I know because I believe the scriptures if Paul
said it could happen to him Lord could it happen to me you know I'm just gonna tell y'all a little incident unless I'm not gonna get into details today but Lord let me tell you I even examined I bought some us some supplements just some what I thought were vitamins and minerals check the ingredients I thought I need to start taking something I'm tired of taking about 50 pills a day and rattling I'm ready for maybe you know to consolidate this down a little bit all of a sudden let me tell you I've been through two weeks of hell over this now still written check the ingredients again there's nothing necessary in the ingredients it's I can find that's anything wrong with it but it opened the door to such a demonic attack y'all that I started having chest pains again I started having every sign you can have of a heart attack even though I know the Lord's healed me I started being attacked by everything you name it it was bombarding me and let me just go on and tell you if I didn't know about deliverance and have a good wife to go you know what maybe those those minerals you're taking might somebody wrong with them read the stuff again couldn't find it but just prayed over it immediately started feeling better immediately everything started changing cast the demons out came in through that but let me just going to tell you right now something that small was about to take me out and this is what I'm talking about don't get arrogant don't get prideful your life is but a vapor it appears for a little time and then vanishes away you are fragile even as a Christian you had you are a fragile thing that's why you just got to stay up close to Jesus please God I don't think I'm all that in the bag of chips I don't think I know everything I need to know I don't see everything I need to see I'm not like the Eagle Lord I don't see everything I need to see I don't deal with things as fast as I need to deal with them please help me to see what I don't see but if you sit there thinking you're mr. or miss top Christian and you see everything and you discern everything and you're you're walking in the spirit every day and you're just on top of it get ready because the devil and your wicked deceitful heart can slip something in on you so quick you know let me just show you how weak you really are how fragile you really are how fragile this whole thing is and see when you have the right heart about this a humble lowly heart
about these type of things you go I know I could fall in a heartbeat I know I could mess everything up I don't think I'm safe in my little in my little nook up in the cliff where I look down upon everyone else this is one of the things I hate about these Republican groups some of them not all of them some of them though oh they think there's something and maybe they have a little power or maybe they know some people but they rub shoulders with people in power they don't realize they're just filthy pigs dirty rotten scoundrels but I know so and so we went to a party together you're not like me oh I can't stand it we have oh and the people the the groups that account would I have the money they're the worst and they prove it by who they keep giving their money to but that's another story let's keep going tell learn anything I love what this is why I think of this in the context of what we just saw about the eagle and he says now it's touching things offered unto idols we know that we all have knowledge somebody say we all have knowledge so Paul said everybody in the church knows idle bad worshiping idols bad right no idols we all have knowledge nobody has more knowledge about it we all know and idols anything we can put in front of Jesus right and then he says this knowledge puffs up makes you prideful that's what that word means to inflate with pride so knowledge makes me think I know I got it how many times I was trying to tell somebody something or even share a word from Lord or somebody oh I know I know I know I know when you hear that okay oh it's a bad self okay let's see what happens you don't like instruction you don't like correction you're not humble enough to hear from somebody else good luck because you're gonna need it okay knowledge puffs up but charity love what builds up it's not what you know it's not how much you know see you're either walking in pride let me just gonna tell you either walking in pride with a puffed up heart or you're walking in true

y'all recognize this place you better that's where it all started Isaiah 14 12 through 70 how are they falling from heaven Oh Lucifer son of the morning how art thou cut down to the ground which did weaken the nations for thou has said in thine heart where the devil has a heart oh that I said in thine heart I will ascend into heaven okay wait a minute people say he got cast out of heaven no he did not he wasn't in heaven he tried to ascend to heaven so where was he if he wasn't in heaven and had to ascend to heaven earth what do you have on earth throne who did he rule over other angels that were here probably a third of them before they rebelled but then he says in his heart I will ascend into heaven I will exalt my throne above the stars of God what's interesting about that comment is once you know the true cosmology the earth that you know the Bible teaches a flat motionless firmament crystalline dome covered earth in which the stars are embedded and hang from like a fig tree as Jesus said once you know that the stars are attached to the firmament the solid dome and that the only thing above that dome is the throne of God in the third heaven you understand what Satan was saying fully I'm going to go sit where God sits I want his spot ain't satisfied with my spot I want his spot yes stupid is stupid does right I want his belt but think about this this was halal Lucifer Satan this was him before he fell this was what this was the seed that became the fall he was not satisfied where God put him he was not content he was not humble he wasn't willing to take the backseat he wanted to be the front seat he wasn't willing to even have a throne given to him by God on the earth no it had to be up there where God was he wanted to have the authority the glory the worship the honor that God had you say oh pastor Dean I don't want that yes you do you steal God's glory all the time and the only reason you steal God's glory to draw attention to yourself is because you're trying to build yourself up into something you're trying to exalt your throne trying to build your kingdom
let me tell you a lot of preachers are going to hear this from the Lord himself you exalted your throne you built your kingdom depart from me to everlasting fire prepared for who the devil and his angels why because they weren't content either to do what I wanted them to do he said I will send it to heaven I will exalt my throne above the stars of God I will sit upon the Mount of the congregation in the sides of the north he and notice what we just read Ezekiel he had been in the Mount of the congregation the sides of the north he was up there in charge of stuff like worship what this is why so many worship leaders fall because the devil hates you because he you're doing what he used to do but this amount of the congregation in the sides of the north we know it's there at the North Pole in the Arctic we know it's there the rupus nigra we know it's there this is I don't have time to go through all this this morning but this is where Satan was standing I believe when he started saying all this in his heart and when he changed from an angel of God into an evil rebel he probably sat right there and began his beauty began to go away and let me tell you what also happened he says his wisdom was corrupted meaning the beautiful wisdom that he had from God became corrupted meaning it became false deceptive wrong he's convinced a lot of times that he knows everything that's going on he doesn't said it well think about this and said had the princes of this world the evil ones know what would have happened what was really happening when they were pushing the crowds to say crucify him it would never done it they didn't understand because their wisdom was corrupted pride had blinded them to some things so even the fallen ones the fallen angels the demons Satan himself they don't understand everything so he was I wanted Satan keep going if he knows that he's losing well does he really believe it is his wisdom so corrupted he actually thinks he's got a shot to defeat God but this congregation and the amount of the congregation the sides of the north that's where it all when he said I will ascend above the heights of the clouds I will be like the most high and what the Lord say no no yet thou shall be
brought down to hell to the sides of the pit see what's under here directly under here there's an opening here and directly under this mountain is where Eden is paradise and then there's a great gulf between the two and that is where hell is and that's why he tells them right there at the gate of hell no Satan you're not gonna you're not gonna come up here and disrupt anything you're gonna end up down there on the wrong side so listen Christian if this can happen to an angel of God you think it can't happen to you pride is so dangerous let's keep going here this is where the war began right here Merry Christmas I just want you to think about that for a minute I will ascend the Lord said oh no you're not and as he ascended I could imagine can you imagine he starts ascending above going up the mountain of God headed above the clouds trying to get to the firmament to go above the stars and Michael step that yeah you're go back down there whenever you exalt yourself you will be brought down so I'm gonna pass the Dean you're hurting me let's read this right here Solomon was the man given more wisdom than the other the other man Solomon and made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt the Lord had told the children Israel never to go back to Egypt for anything what do you think how God felt about this meaning he made a covenant made a treaty with Egypt and took Pharaoh's daughter to be one of his wives and brought her into the city of David until he had made an end of building his own house and the house of the Lord to the wall of Jerusalem only the people sacrificed in the high places because there was no house built into the name of the Lord in those days and Solomon loved the Lord now wait a minute now he's disobeying the Lord but he loves the Lord come on now this describes so many
Christians I can't even I can't even hardly deal with it oh I love the Lord uh-huh why you loving Pharaoh why you marrying Pharaoh's daughter when you were told not to why you dating unbelievers Christians mmm some of you dating folks before you even a divorce papers have even been filed we talk about the ink being not being dry it ain't even been laid down yet I mean we we counsel people all the time we battle with people Bibles clear don't be unequally yoked together with an unbeliever I've never seen more people want to try to justify and talk their way into it Christians but I love the Lord do you know it looks like you just hunting for a man or you just want a wife and you don't care what God says about it you just gonna do what you want mmm-hmm well he's got a lot of money haha I bet he does I could spend a lot of time right there but since Solomon loved the Lord walking in the statutes of David his father only he sacrificed and burning since in the high places so he was trying to live in both worlds and then God gives him God answers his prayer though when he asked for wisdom and Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night and said ask what I shall give thee this is when he asked for wisdom but I want you to see something God can give you wisdom revelation visions he can appear to you while you're in a state of compromise because God loves you in hopes that he's gonna pull you out of it and just because you have gifts of the Spirit operating in your lives just because you have look I have seen the Lord I have seen heaven I have had it opened up to me I've had open visions encounters I've had the Lord walk up to me and put his hands on me and I can still fall away Solomon this was the beginning of his problem he loved the Lord but he loved the wicked and he loved the lust and he loved the fame and he loved the game out there so I call him plays he was the player I don't know too many men accounts 700 and 300 that's a thousand women this right here though describes where the church world is but we know
we got books Christian books coming out the wazoo we got lexicons we got encyclopedias we got books on archaeology Hebrew language Greek language we live in the time that Daniel foretold where he said knowledge would increase and many will run to and fro we live in what's called the information age we have more access to knowledge wisdom understanding of things than any other generation that's ever lived think about that and yet we can't let go of Pharaoh's daughter we love the world we love the wickedness we love the pomp and circumstance we love it all and here's what it says later on in the scriptures it says that Solomon's wives turned his heart away from the Lord fully to the point he was not just in a high place maybe compromising a little bit he was worshiping Molech and Chemos human sacrifice was going on the highest level of sin and wickedness and evil and here's a man that God appeared to twice gave you more wisdom than he'd ever given any man and he corrupted him his pride corrupted him and what was his pride I can I'm the king I can get away with this come here Pharaoh's daughter come here pagan women I'm being God we're good how many Christians y'all heard that from home I'm good with the man upstairs even a man upstairs he's the Lord God Almighty the Creator the judge of heaven and earth I'm preaching this that scares me my first Corinthians 10 12 says yes wherefore let him to think if he stand it take heed lest he fall oh how pride can slip in so subtle just a little seed just a little and it becomes a poisonous weed like kudzu in Alabama they should have never brought it here it's taking over it's why a little leaven leavens a whole lump now let's read this from first Corinthians 13 though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and have not charity I become a sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal and
though I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge and have all faith so that I could remove mountains and have not charity I am nothing though I be so all my goods to feed the poor though I give my body to be burned and have not charity or true love for God and for people it profits me nothing he said charity suffer as long as the kind cherry envy if not cherry does not boast itself it's not puffed up in pride the reason that you can love your neighbor properly is when you understand you are no better than they are they might be homeless and you have a home does that make you better than them or just so happens that you just got blessed and you're not does the situation is not flipped around but let me tell you circumstances can come to you so fast that you trade places with that person there's a lot of people in America because of where the economy is going and where all this whole thing is going that are going to be homeless that never have been homeless before and a lot of it's because in their heart they look down upon those people having no idea what they have been through and they're about to experience it themselves somebody I brought this up though because look gift of prophecy understand all mystery anybody in this room understand all mysteries no then Jesus said this he said the meanwhile here his disciples prayed him saying master eat but he said to them I have meat to eat that you know not of therefore said it the disciples one to another hath any man brought ought to eat have brought him all to eat and she said that my meat is to do the will of him that sent me and to what finishes work that's it your meat oh I won't pastor my pastor doesn't feed me meat you don't need any meat find the will of God from the scriptures until you grow to a place you hear from God and know his will for you that is your meat I could sit here and give you vast orations of hermeneutical excellence but it means nothing if you don't do the will of God and that is your meat that is your life that is your breath I really care nothing about anything else this is why our counseling method around here is pray about it or what does the Bible say right scary it's scary to me that I'm gonna give an accounts an account
for you so my meat is to do the will of him that sent me not your will not anybody else's will my whole goal in this life is to finish the work he gave me not the one I wanted not the one I planned but the one he gave me which means sometimes suffering difficulty persecution lack being apart from family it's denying self and taking up the cross so he says let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God but made himself of no reputation and took upon him the form of the servant was made in the likeness of men and being found in fashion as a man he humbled himself and became obedient somebody said it with me he humbled himself and became obedient period the world the the the Israelites who loved him they wanted to come and take him by force and make him king nope had to slip away because that was not the plan of God the will of God for that time for that moment so many people are gonna stand before but God I'm with the church I sang in the choir a tie that gave offerings I helped the poor needy I gave everything I had when there was a hurricane all this stuff and he's gonna say but you never listen to me I had plans for you I had something that you had to do I had my will for your life but you never did it you just played with religion you never took up your cross and followed me for me for my plan that's all that matters see Jesus humbled himself and became obedient unto death even the death of the cross wherefore God is also highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven things in earth things under the earth he humbled himself became obedient humility is simply humbling yourself to do the will of God I remember any time you disobey his pride it's it's your own preservation of self in some way oh but if I go do that I'm gonna lose my job if I go prophesied of that church they're gonna kick me out of it oh I had that one the Methodist Church I got the left foot of fellowship and I knew I was gonna get it and I and the Lord told me one Sunday to stand up it was very simple prophecy I've shared is forgive this word of prophecy in this church very biblical very solid it was a repentance word and
specific sins I listed even pedophilia was one of them and the pedophile got caught in that church in fact he was standing right in front of me when I was pointing and giving the word but the first time the Lord told me to give the word in that church I was like okay Methodist Church let me just say there's no room made for the gifts operate right and I didn't do it Oh three weeks me and the Lord had a little time apart the proud he north afar off right everything my spiritual life dried up he was like I told you do you didn't do it and there was circumstances that came about and it was gonna be three weeks before I could get back to that church and obey but let me tell you I didn't want to do it I had friends in that church family in that church I had you know I knew it was gonna cause a big stink it was gonna cause me problems and I and me didn't want problems well guess what that's pride when you say no God I don't want to do this because it's gonna cost me but let me tell you when I humbled myself and became obedient let me tell you what happened right after that Sunday and I'm talking about the next week I went and gave that word I got the left foot of fellowship from pastor death Darth Vader I dusted my feet off right and I right in the doorway and said thank you I'm out his house burned down not long after that I wouldn't me well let me tell you when I obeyed the Lord then told me he said go over to your friend's house Craig's house get a group together I want you to go to the mall and preach guess what I did after that little experience of not obeying I went to Craig's house got a little group together we prayed we went out to the mall village mall and started preaching the gospel that night ten young people gave their lives to the Lord in tears the power of God fell the power of God he moves his grace his Holy Spirit moves when you do what he wants not you what you want quit trying to preserve your your own reputation you think you have quit trying to preserve relationships I'm afraid to say this cuz I the gospel of Jesus Christ the truth of Jesus Christ the truth of the Word of God is a sword that causes division that does and if you won't speak it especially when he's pushing you to speak it you're in trouble let's read a few more of these verses and this I'm almost through I promise for the Lord shall cut off all flattering lips and the tongue that speaketh proud things blessed is a man that maketh the Lord
his trust is respected not the proud nor such as turn aside the lies who so privileged slander with his neighbor him will I cut off him that hath a high look and a proud heart will I will not I suffer a proud look boy I've seen that look in people's eyes oh you better get that off of you a lot of that in Montgomery y'all know what I'm talking about the proud have forged a lie against me but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart everyone that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord might ought to put that one on your make a little ticker tape thing and put it on the front cover of your Bible that means the people that won't obey the people that won't submit the people to think they're better than everybody else think their first Baptist country club over here is all that in a bag of chips I tell you what I don't care oh the people that have died and gone to hell because of their proud heart a high look and a proud heart and the plowing of the wicked is sin he that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife but he that put it his trust in the Lord shall be made fat Jeremiah the Prophet said hear you and give ear be not proud for the Lord has spoken and this here right here first Peter 5 5 likewise you younger submit yourselves into the elder yay all of you be subject one to another and be clothed with humility for God resists that the proud it gives grace to the humble I want you to put that watch my knee picture I sent you watch my knee and his book spiritual authority makes a very interesting teaching a revelation and they'll get it I can read it off my phone but y'all need to see it I'm gonna read it there it is this is in chapter 1 he says in serving God we must not violate authorities because to do so as a principle of Satan how can we preach Christ according to Satan's principle yet it is possible in our work to stand with Christ in doctrine while at the same time stand with Satan in principle how very wicked for us to assume that we are doing the work of the Lord think about that Solomon oh I love the Lord come give me a kiss Pharaoh's daughter this is what he's talking about here and this room when this rebellions in the heart and what he's
talking about here when he's talking about when in serving God we must not violate authorities and he's talking about God's delegated authorities in God's delegated authorities in the church and then the fivefold ministry apostles prophets evangelist pastors and teachers those are delegated by God after that the fivefold ministry of that church or ministry they ordain and delegate other authorities but let me just tell you the way God looks at it when God delegates an authority the way you treat that one is the way you're treating God if I delegate an authority the way you treat that authority is how you're treating me and God okay and this is not a game he said but I love Jesus while you resist authority while you don't listen to clear directives here's what we believe here's what we are going to teach from this church here's what we're not these people like Sal and Daniela they've had some battles I delegated them gave them authority over to have the Bible study and there are people that will come in and argue and fuss with them and try to push their their beliefs their opinions their ideas now see some of these people wouldn't dare do that to me because they're scared of me but when they do it to you whom I have delegated they're doing it to me you understand and the God looks at it like that whosoever receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophets reward right a lot of people don't know how to recognize you better recognize when God has sent a delegated authority into your life you better respect that and you better understand how you treat that person is how you are treating God and it can reveal a lot of times us Americans it's built into us to like to resist authority it's kind of built in so I understand why we all have problems with that all right I'm not saying you just blindly obey anybody or you blindly submit or you blindly receive you're not supposed to receive false prophets but if you receive what he's talking about when Jesus said that is a true prophet once you've discerned a person is a true man or woman of God and called to a place of authority you better be careful well they don't know what I know oh that knowledge is puffing up you understand I when I was younger I went to a lot of churches where I knew more things about the Bible or certain doctrinal issues than the pastor did but do you think I would stand up in church service and argue
with him or go into a Bible study and argue with him no that was not my place my place if I want to talk to him about something was to go privately and treat him as a father not as an enemy but if like Paul and Barnabas if the dissension became so strong guess what we need to part ways and I'll go do my thing over here and you go do your thing all right and we got to be careful that we're not letting plot pride slip in and our own agenda slip in and and let me just tell you this if there is pride in your heart discontent it is very easy for someone to come along and flatter you to manipulate the pride that is in your heart very easy this is how some of the people that left here they started hearing other voices right and that's what happened again they they they got flattered oh and you'll find out every false prophet really false prophecy is all about how you're gonna prosper how you're gonna do this how you're gonna be wonderful who you can be all this in a bag of chips and if you're not careful a lot of that some of it it's God some of it can be God telling you about what you're called to do a lot of what we call prophecy today is flattery and it is appealing to the idols within our heart to the pride within our hearts and we are we don't even know we're being manipulated around by Satan through those things there's not many prophecies anymore like to Simon I perceive that you are in the gall of bitterness in the bond of iniquity that's a prophecy not what we want to get right to the rich area there's one thing you lack you have an idol called money one thing that's not a prophecy won't want go get your husband I don't have a husband oh that's right you've had five and the one you're with now is not your husband oh that's a prophecy sir I perceived our order profit Jesus good way and you are right I love how Jesus said if you only knew who was sitting here talking to you see pride will blind you it will deceive you and it will allow other people to manipulate you and control you this is why it's so dangerous that you must say God reveal every hidden little nook and cranny and recess in my heart where pride may be hiding expose it and help me rip it out
amen Jesus said whoever humbles himself and becomes like a little child not a PhD in theology I got a PhD but here's the PhD you should have past having doubts I'm past I have no doubts about God's word is true from Genesis to Revelation nothing will be exalted above this book in my life God's word is true and everybody else contrary to that is a liar this is why it says in second Corinthians 10 3 through 6 when it says that we are to cast down in imaginations and every high thing so I say high thing means prideful thing that exalts itself above the knowledge of God we're to cast that down but I want to date so-and-so who's not saved cast it down well if I tell this if I tell the truth about what happened to work I'm gonna lose my jobs but if I lie the person next to me is gonna lose my job lose their job so it's just a little white line that person loses their job because you lied and then they go kill themselves how you feel about that I guess I'll stop Merry Christmas happy new year all right folks these are things that we can hide from people that no one can see but that actually rule and guide our lives instead of the Holy Spirit and I hope this series I don't know if we're done I don't think we are probably about three or four more but I hope let me ask you a question has this series about the heart so far made you take a another look at where your heart really is has it exposed some things for you because see the preaching of the word especially to the Christians supposed to shine light in the dark places those hidden places so we cannot be on the inside whitewashed tombs full of dead men's bone on the outside just look pretty to everybody right I know y'all are pretty remember that got him in trouble too that beauty thing let's stand I love the Word of God you know over the years I realize I'm
nothing I am nothing without this word right here everything that I've been blessed with in my life is because God's grace and mercy through this book it's why the longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119 because it's all about what I love your word I love your word I love your word I will keep your commandments I love your word I love your word more than I love life itself Father in heaven I ask you to move upon this today I don't even feel like God I did this justice fully trying to reveal all the little ways that pride can hide in different forms of pride can hide in our hearts and take rule of our lives religious pride or reveal it all expose it all shine your light on every bit of it let us be people that don't come in the room and run to be in the chief place let us be the ones that take the backseat and then are asked to move forward we don't want to be ones pushing forward where we're not supposed to be exalting ourselves thinking more of ourselves than we ought to doing our own plans Father help us root all that out and truly become humble ourselves and become obedient take up our cross and do your will your plan according to your written word and what you speak that is not in contradiction to your written word I pray over every person here those watching and listening those who will watch and listen in the days ahead that they will realize that Satan's power the most powerful aspect of his evil is the pride self exaltation the resistance to do things God's way make that real to each and every person God rooted out of us young and old teenagers and stubborn old folks rooted out expose it Jesus name I pray amen all right I'm not gonna keep you any longer Merry Christmas to all and to all good night hugs up next
