Lord we truly thank you that you said that your sheep would hear your voice and they will follow you Lord you have ordained it and called us that we should be led by the spirit and not by our own minds and reasoning and not by the flesh not by the religious doctrines of men Lord we just thank you today that we have the truth of your word and we have your Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us in it and Lord I pray that today will be the day that people will break free from some blindness demonic doctrines of men of nonsense and hunger and thirst and pursue all that you have for them we pray this today in Jesus name amen hallelujah you may be seated this morning this morning I've just entitled this the gift of tongues I've talked about over the years the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gift of tongues that ACC the baptism of the Holy Spirit many many times but it seems like the spiritual blinders are still on people and um it this is so important listen there's nine gifts of the holy spirit but this one is the most hated by the devil he despises it he speaks against it he twists people's minds and ideas all to pieces over this but let me just go ahead and tell you something right now this is in your Bible okay and I know the Baptists and the methodists and the Presbyterians and a lot of so-called truthers they don't want to deal with this but you have to ignore a lot of scriptures now let me tell you why I'm going to give you a few things I'm going to tell you why this is so important and I'm going to say this at the outset of this and I've said it nearly every time I get on this subject do you have to speak in tongues to be saved to be born again to be a Christian no no you do not you do not have to I love what one of my old pastors used to say you don't have to you get to you understand now what this gift is about we're going to find out the primary purpose of this gift is not just to speak in known languages so that you can be a better missionary did God do that in the in in the beginning in Acts chapter 2 yes he did is that the only purpose for this gift no and if anybody says that they're teaching a false Doctrine did God use it that way in Acts 2 yes but is there more in the scripture about this yes so if you ignore the rest of the scripture then you're purpose either purposely deceiving people or you're just spiritually blinded because you have some bias some Prejudice you've bought into some tradition or doctrine of men and what does tradition and doctrine of men do what Jesus say the traditions and doctrines of men make the
word of God none effect in your life if you believe the nonsense of of of men that's not biblical or we get partial doctrines where they take part of a subject but they ignore the rest of the subject then you still have a doctrine of men because it's incomplete and I had to tell somebody that this week cu the moment I brought up the gift of tongues here they come right here comes the social media keyboard Warriors trying to teach me about the gift of tongues when some of them haven't been saved but a few years so this is something we've got to understand because listen the primary purpose for the gift of tongues unknown tongues new tongues that Jesus called them new tongues Paul called them unknown we're going to get into that in the second but the primary gift is to help you in your prayer life life and to strengthen you spiritually to charge you like a battery is the terminology that is important then Paul says if he says the unknown man and we're going to cover these he said if he said let the the man that speaks in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret well when you couple the gift of tongues unknown tongues with the gift of interpretation you are hearing the voice of God you are hearing the Holy Spirit speak to you and I'm going to show you where God said in the in the book in the prophet Isaiah with stammering lips in another tongue will I speak to this people but they won't listen they don't want to hear it I have never seen a Doctrine a Biblical truth more opposed by Christians than this one people who say they believe the Bible to be the inspire ired infallible word of God I it boggles my mind but I have watched this particular subject and this gift be attacked misunderstood people be in total confusion about it people ignore what the Bible says about it and believe what their denomination or their Pastor tells them that's not correct now the first thing people want to throw out is a verse in in First Corinthians it's always bring up Tong here it comes do all speak with tongues I have to remind people in that verse in 1 Corinthians chapter 12 does it say all can't speak in tongues only a few will no just because he said do all speak with tongues implying of course not all Christians do does not mean all Christians can't don't make up stuff that's not there because you're going to find out Jesus said this he said these signs shall follow them that believe he didn't put a limit to it
the problem is people don't believe either they don't believe it's for the day they don't believe it's necessary they don't believe it's important or like some of them they want to believe it's demonic and I'm going to tell you right there those people are messed up and one of them is Mr Nathan Roberts has lost his mind and if you don't know him don't worry about it there's a lot of people that do and he even spoke out about it he thinks the tongues of angels are Latin that sounds like Catholic nonsense to me right there wouldn't they love that the tongues of angels to be Latins and just validate everything um but I want to read this I want to read this uh post I put on here because there's so many people that are anti- Pentecostal can I just say this our church is a Pentecostal church I've never hidden that from anyone we're we're non- denominational we're not part of a denomination I never will be again I don't want to play that political game I won't play that political game anymore and uh but Pentecostal let me just Define for you what Pentecostal means cuz it is it is misunderstood now are there some crazy Pentecostals and charismatics out there that are off in la la land goofiness we call them Charis Maniacs that are into the counterfeit the false the Demonic yes I wrote about this EXT extensively in the book I wrote the polluted Church from Rome to Kansas City in 2012 in fact I wrote about the calini spirit when Nathan Roberts was still going to Andy Stanley's church and still in the Baptist Church and didn't know what cundalini was so he is not the expert let's just get that out there all right um and you know right now the way Nathan Roberts and a lot of his groupies and a lot of people are today uh if if if Moses was standing in a church today and a chair started manifested burning on fire but wasn't being consumed they would scream calini and dare don't let him throw his rod down and it turned into a serpent they'd scream cundalini too cundalini means serpent power it and it comes from participating or opening the door to Eastern religions to meditation yoga visualization chanting mantras you want to open yourself up to calini now all you got to figure out is well are some Christians have they opened themselves up to this calini Spirit I'm going to cover this more in detail in the weeks ahead but yes but all you have to do is Trace back what practices are they doing and I did this in in the polluted Church book and show you how they got into Eastern meditative practices that are called uh Christians call them contemplative prayer but it's eastern mysticism and a lot of Christians have gotten into yoga and even they don't even realize that in some of them are practicing transcendental meditation and they don't
even know that they're calling upon Hindu gods when they do this so this is a completely different issue we're talking about all right so can Christians can Christians get into this stuff yes but remember what did Jesus say Jesus talked about if you are sincerely seeking the holy spirit in your life what did he say I'm not going to give you a serpent or a scorpion not going to do it now let me just say this tongues is just one of the manifestations of the gifts of the holy spirit when the power of God comes on you see we got people right now all upset because people have fallen in the floor you get prayed for and somebody falls out right they're against that that's calini that's a calini spirit I guess Jesus was operating in it then cuz when the soldiers came to get Jesus in John 18 and they said Jesus they said who do you seek and Jesus said they said Jesus of Nazareth all the Roman soldiers it said when he said I am he went backwards and fell to the ground cond stop this foolishness Daniel fell on his face and under the power of God people trembled and shook under the power of God people weep and cry under the power of God I remember that the the first time I was truly born again when I was 11 years old in that little Baptist Church the power of God came on me his love his peace that power I was crying and shaking as 11y old kid and it wasn't cine I'm so over these immature people who think they're experts why is it everybody in their 20s and 30s thinks they're an expert cuz they got the internet right they think they're an expert they got YouTube your theology better come from the scriptures and not YouTube these YouTube keyboard Warriors that sit there and don't go to church and think they're experts on everything because they watched every video it's on YouTube these questions a lot of these questions just get answered if you read your Bible and look up a definition of a word or two not really complicated and take all the scriptures on a subject together and look at them all and let them all speak and let them all show the whole picture not part of the picture but I wrote this the other day after Mr Robert spoke against Pentecostal I said being Pentecostal means that you believe and have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of unknown Supernatural
tongues that's what it is it also means that you believe the re and you believe the rest of the gifts of the the Holy Spirit are still available for any true born again Christian today and I give the scriptures acts 219 Mark 161 15-20 1 Corinthians 12-14 I said I have news for Nathan Roberts and any other anti- Pentecostal person like no no noell Hadley and all I said all of the Apostles now remember this all of the Apostles all 120 Believers in the upper room all the new Believers in Samaria all the first Gentiles to hear the gospel at cornelius's house um the first 12 disciples to start the Church of Ephesus the entire church of Corinth we know and the Apostle Paul were all Pentecostals meaning they all spok in tongues Supernatural tongues they all believed in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and they operated in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and they believ that the baptism of the Holy Spirit was something separate or second or happened after salvation now do you receive the Holy Spirit when you are saved when you are born again yes you do you know in in John is in John 20 when Jesus after Jesus rose from the dead and he appeared to the disciples what does it say he did he said he breathed on them and said receive the Holy Spirit now what I believe that was was he gave them the touch and the impartation the first measure of the holy spirit so they could be regenerated born again after his resurrection says he breathed on them and said receive the Holy Spirit but then he tells them later you all I want all of you to go to Jerusalem and wait until you are baptized with the Holy Spirit until you are endued with power from on high so the first impartation of the holy spirit in John 20 was about salvation the second one was about power to operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and to have power to be a witness for Jesus I why anybody would think that okay if it if it was enough to just say I'm saved and I have the Holy Spirit why would Jesus tell the people he trained for over 3 years don't do anything don't go anywhere Don't Preach anything don't do anything you go to Jerusalem and you wait until you get more that's Bible folks some people got offended and said what are you saying pastor Dean I don't have enough of the Holy Spirit I said nope but see what that does is that will offend your pride but that's very biblical if you haven't received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the initial or beginning evidence of the baptism of the holy
spirit is the gift of tongues it's Bible I'm sorry if that offends the entire denominational world out there of the church but that's what happened in Acts 2 acts 10 Acts 19 that is a Biblical pattern people I one guy get bent out of shape because I said it's the initial evidence why do we say that why do Pentecostal say that the the the gift of tongues is the initial evidence because it's not the only evidence that you've been baptized in the holy spirit because once you get baptized that's just the beginning there's more there's more more more more oh come on now why anybody would not want this now I want to share this this is a testimony let me see if I can get Tamera here let me let me this is Tamara O'Neal you talking about a powerful testimon I've shared some of her testimony she came to uh Skyfall 2019 our conference in uh October 3rd through the 6th was a powerful time powerful Holy Spirit moved powerfully I didn't even know until she wrote this that she was baptized in the Holy Spirit here not just baptized in you know not just she not just saved but she I met her at the picnic first and she she was in tears because she she grew up she was a multi-generational Mormon her family went back Generations in Utah Mormon Mormonism is so demonic it is such a false religion it is a cult you know I mean there's so much we could say about that but this woman what was beautiful she began to share her testimony with me that you know Mormonism claimed to be the true church she said but there was no power in it she said she would read the Bible and she would see this about tongues and about healing and about the other gifts of the Holy Spirit the gift of Prophecy and she said none of this was in the supposed true church and she said if this was the true church then that true church would still be doing what Jesus did and this and I believe this is the holy spirit just just trying to lead her so she start Ed searching and guess what she came across this little church in Alabama Fire and Grace Church and she started hearing somebody some preachers talking about yes the power and the gifts of the holy spirit are still for today I'm going to show you those verses in a minute it's still for today you can have that you can experience that I've experienced it this church has experienced it it has not been done away with and so she started listening but she also found out what it who who Jesus was that he's God In the Flesh he is not just you know the the Mormons teach that
he's not God In the Flesh so she found that out this woman got saved she was in tears telling me how she got saved and then she comes to Skyfall right and she tells me this and this is her testimony she says prior to my baptism in Alabama at Skyfall 2019 I was fasting in preparation I sought My Savior regarding the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues before she came here she said I was weary due to the past experiences with yoga astral projection and Demon visitations I knew Satan and his power were real and I wanted no part of that I read the word of God fasted and prayed fervently I worshiped almighty God I forgave all who I was holding on to offense I repented I went through Deliverance for everything I was aware of then I prayed from Matthew 7 7- 11 which says God says if you are Desiring the Holy Spirit he's not going to give you a serpent and he says she said she goes on to say God uh that God would give me only good gifts when I seek Him in Earnest he touched my heart with the holy spirit Power felt in my belly I gave him my pride and my tongue I stepped out in faith and began speaking in an unknown language I was brought to my knees worshiping in the spirit more powerfully than my soul and native language could ever allow later throughout the entire conference I was filled with the Holy Spirit night and day I was awakened by the Holy Spirit early every morning worshiping with prayer scriptures and songs of praise on my lips um she said during Deliverance I was led by the spirit to go up for healing when Pastor Dean placed his hands on me and prayed healing o over me more Holy Spirit power than ever before poured over me and my specific life-threatening medical issue issue my uh thyroid decimated by years of autoimmune attack was actively charged with God's power I knew I would be healed I can never doubt what occurred I have not required any thyroid medication since that day I am healed by God's power as I stay connected to him actively seeking him the fire of God was called down over me and others around me and it was the good gift of God to burn out impurity to to heal to empower unto God's good works in this earth in Jesus mighty name I am thankful see she tells it just like it is she didn't give up you know I was talking to uh Robert paint tank more the other day some of you know who he is um he's on fire for Jesus he said you know the problem with a lot of people is they just say they hear about the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gift of tongues and the gifts of the Holy Spirit and they just go and they pray one time they ask and they don't get it right then and
they go well well must not be for me wow kind of sounds like it's just not worth your time you know if you're hungry for something from God you will keep pursuing I think about you think about the women in the Bible who were Barren and how they would just desperately p pursue God and seek God and fast and pray and weep and cry and just keep running after God to give them a child until he would miraculously heal them of their barness and give them a child why have we lost that why have we lost that desire to pursue to hunger to thirst to seek until we receive to deal with I love what what Tamara said there where she said I I made sure I I didn't have unforgiveness toward anyone or offense I repented of my sins I cast off my doubt beautiful oh if all Christians would do these things the power of God would let me just say it's not just about speaking in tongues it is about humbling yourself well I don't want to be babbling and jabbering you know what's amazing about that didn't God say we should come become like little children little children do a lot of babbling and right God takes the foolish things he says to confound the wise you think you're wise religious person and you want to ignore this this is perfect the way God does things I mean he says not many mighty not many noble are going to be able to handle these things because he does stuff that goes against your you know our selfish Pride about stuff all right let me let me give you a few things real quick before we get we're going to go through a lot of scriptures and trust me we're going to be here a minute the gift of tongues first of all number one not required for salvation covered that number two not only a known language it can be a known language you never learn but it is also unknown languages brand new that's never been spoken that are Mysteries and we'll cover those scriptures in a second not for first century Christians only not only a sign for unbelievers you know I had one guy pulling that one verse out of First Corinthians 14 and that was this whole thing oh it's just a sign to unbelievers I said you need to go back and reread the whole chapter because there's a lot more to it than just that but let me just say this yes the Bible says that tongues are a sign for unbelievers but I'm going to tell you what else tongues are it's a test for Christians might be a sign for the unbelievers but it's a test for you and let me let me explain how a sign happened let me tell you I I I was Pastor in church in Montgomery years ago
and a visitor came in and I didn't know I'd never seen her before in my life and during the the message um well during the praise and worship rather at the end of Praise and Worship the Lord had me give a public tongue and someone gave an interpretation of that tongue well when I finished preaching and gave a little altar call this girl came up she was probably in her 20s she came up tears running down her face and began to tell me how she had been an alcoholic addicted addiction problems that she hadd been to many churches and she had never felt the power of God she said but and she wasn't saved she said but when you spoke in tongues the power of God went through me and she said I know God touched me and I'm free and I want Jesus that's what I'm talking about God we think I you know us preachers want to think it's our eloquent in sermons and what touched her was tongues being displayed in the public service shook her God used that power as a sign to that unbeliever that can happen but let me tell you it's a bigger test for Christians Christian will you humble yourself from your Baptist Pride your Seminary education that most of you got taught by Jesuits and Devils will you humble yourself and simply believe what God's word says and seek him for it until you receive it that's the question now let's go through some scriptures let's go to Luke 24 if we can you can put this up Luke 2446 through 53 going to have some fun now that was just the introduction we got to learn stuff got to unlearn bad things we've been taught in church and we got to relearn what does the word say in its context with the proper definitions the Luke 24 46- 53 then we're going to go to acts one so here we go let's read it Luke 24: 46-53 and this is uh Jesus speaking he said unto them thus it is written and thus it behoove Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations beginning at Jerusalem and you are witnesses of these things and behold I send the promise of the my father upon you but carry you in the city of Jerusalem until you be endued with power
from on high everybody see that until you be endued with power from on high and he led them as far as to Bethany and he lifted up his hands and blessed them and it came to pass that while he blessed them he parted from them and was carried up into heaven and they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy and they were continually in the temple praising and blessing God so Jesus said you know what I know you guys are saved it behov God to explain to them the gospel but you go to Jerusalem and wait till you receive power now I don't know about you but if Jesus tells me hey go over there and wait until you get more power from me Got You Lord that's a good idea I'm going to do that ain't it amazing that 500 it says Paul wrote above 500 people were there when Jesus ascended to heaven and only 120 were in Jerusalem in the upper room that means 380 weren't obedient and 380 didn't get baptized in the holy spirit with the evidence of tongues that day oops that's another reason why people don't get baptized in the holy spirit because you're disobedient I was looking he said he gives the Holy Spirit to those that obey him but that's another issue all right acts one we're going to go from acts 1 1 we're going to read 1- 4 and then verse 8 then we're going to go to Matthew 3 but acts one verse one and this is Luke the Beloved Physician one of the 70 he says the former treaties have I made o Theophilus of all that Jesus began both to do and teach until the day in which he was taken up after that he through the Holy Ghost had given Commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen to whom also he showed himself alive after his Passion by many infallible TR proofs being seen of them 40 days and speaking of things pertaining to the kingdom of God and being assembled together with them commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem but wait for the promise of the Father which saith he ye have heard of me for John truly baptized with water but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence in verse eight but you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you and you shall be Witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost parts of the Earth can I say if we go and we're going to read Acts 2 in a minute but if this promise of the father this baptism of the holy spirit this this power from on high is connected to the gift of tongues cuz that's what happened on that day then God is saying that I'm going to give you power and part of that power is
the gift of tongues do you see why the devil hates this why he hates this baptism of the Holy Spirit he hates this subject of the gift of tongues because it is connected to and it's the word dunamus Supernatural miraculous power from God who hates the power of God the devil and religious people that are listening to the devil all these people poin their fingers at this and say tongues is demonic kinding and saying we have a demon Spirit no you have the demon spirit because it's the demons and Satan that hate the power of God and tongues the gift of tongues is directly connected to the baptism of the holy spirit that Jesus called being filled or endued with power from on high as they say don't shout me down when I'm preaching good I don't know about you when I was 19 years old I didn't know any of I didn't know I didn't know the anti Holy Spirit and tongues people and I didn't know any Pentecost was Charisma that I really knew that I that I UND what I'm saying is that I understood I knew the I knew people on both sides but I didn't know I didn't understand the battle I didn't understand the division the but I just I was just reading my Bible God had me isolated in the mountains of Arkansas surrounded by witches and Satanist everywhere trying to kill me I'm just reading the Bible I'm like hm Holy Ghost Holy Spirit baptism power they got the gift of tongues that day hm it's all connected does not take a theologian to figure it out and I realized huh the apostles needed this and they walk with Jesus for 3 years boy do I cuz I didn't get that benefit of three years of personal training right let's look at he said they're going to be baptized so let's look at John the Baptist foretold this about baptizing with water remember this is in Acts he said acts one they baptized John baptized you with water Jesus said but there's something else coming but water baptism is all I need I got saved I got baptized I got dunked I'm good well why didn't Jesus tell them they were good Jesus said no not enough there's more so let's look at it look at what John said oh my John the Baptist just Matthew 3:11 let's just read that one verse for right for now Matthew 3:11 I want y'all to see it for yourself John the Baptist said this about Jesus he said indeed he said I indeed baptize you with water unto
repentance but he that cometh after me is mightier than I whose shoes I am not worthy to Bear he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire well seeing that the people didn't have third deegree Burns obviously this is a spiritual fire from heaven or is this condal but he said I'm going to bapti Holy Ghost and Fire I don't understand why people don't understand that there's different manifestations of the Holy Spirit and that God Likens his Spirit to a fire to oil the anointing oil to the dove that represents peace to water the River of Life why is this so hard for some people to get a hold of that there's literal fire that will burn you and send you to the burn center and then there's Holy Ghost Fire I mean basically this attack on the fire of the holy spirit is ridiculous and really it's inspired by demons but that's what happens when you listen to Kanye Kanye Jordan sent me the best meme Kanye lini I'd be more concerned with Kanye lini than Kini right now I trust me Kanye is operating in Kini all right but that's another sermon now let's go to acts two so so John the Baptist said Jesus is going to baptize you in the Holy Ghost in fire Jesus tells them to go wait we're going to go to 2 1- 4 actually we're going to read 1- 4 we're going to stay in Acts 2 for a minute so let's go to the day it happened all this was foretelling it but then there was the day that this happened so 120 people were in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost it says they were all in one mind and one Accord so let's read this Acts 2 1-4 and when the day of Pentecost was fully come they were all with one Accord in one place and suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing Mighty Wind let me stop there for a second remember when John 20 I know we didn't turn there but John 20 when Jesus first appeared to the apostles and he says he breathed on them and said receive the holy spirit let me tell you is it is is a breath different than a rushing Mighty Wind and these were two separate events you you guys been in a hurricane re recently there's a difference between a breeze and a
hurricane that's what we're talking about here when we get saved we receive the breeze when you get baptized in the Holy Spirit you receive the hurricane you receive the power all right so says and suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing Mighty Wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting and there appeared unto them close in tongues like as of fire and sat upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance now is that in your Bible did that happen yeah so he says and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost so clo and tongues like as fire so let me let me just break it down we're going to read some more of the chapter here in a second but let's just break it down so Jesus talked about this day you're going to be baptized in the Holy Spirit Paul John said you're GNA he's going to baptize you in the Holy Ghost in fire right Jesus said in Mark 16 we'll read it a minute they're going to speak my the people who believe in me they're going to speak with new tongues so all of this was foretold so the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit manifest himself as a rushing Mighty Wind Fire that appeared like the burning bush fire and the gift of tongues was given to all 100 so that day you could say that that church that all spoke in tongues that day now think about if that happened in a church today there would be a bunch of Pharisees and Nathan Roberts type individuals standing in the back going come to leing you're out of order that's of the devil all 120 we're speaking in tongues at the same time imagine that scene that was the first church service the first real New Testament New Covenant holy spirit filled church service and it looked like chaos cuz you know what everybody start everybody wants to put God in a box I got your own little religious box don't you just when you think you got him the Pharisees had their box and he just did everything outside of that box didn't he we're out of that box let me tell you the holy spirit's moved out of these boxes of denominations he's mov out of he's moving beyond them he's looking for people that just going to believe his word I mean haven't we learned this about the the creation issue God's looking for people that believe him
period not men not doctrines of men not what they think it is but what God says it is I want to show you this too verse four and it says and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance I want to say this the Holy Spirit does not speak in tongues you do you hear me you speak as he gives the utterance he will not force your vocal cords your tongue your mouth to move will not do it you cooperate yield to him he gives it as you step out in faith it's the whole stepping out of the boat thing you sit in the boat and do nothing you're not walking on the water Tamara said remember she yielded her tongue She began to speak but not her known language and it began to flow and I don't know how everybody has to figure that out between them and the Lord there's no formula but I know this if you sat there with your lips ain't nothing happening everything in the kingdom of God is about cooperating with the Holy Spirit you're not going to cast demons out if you don't ever go pray for somebody and bind the demon and command them to leave them you will never cast demon you have to do something you you will never lead somebody to Jesus if you don't preach the gospel to them or share your testimony with them or lead them in prayer you will never see anything happen unless you do something that's the way it works God wants us to to to have actions with our faith that's what makes it complete so did they in this particular instance was this where God used the gift of tongues to be known languages in the world yes let's keep reading verse five and there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews devout men out of every nation under heaven and now when this was noised abroad multitude the multitude came together went confounded because every man heard them speak in his own language and they were all amazed and marveled saying one to another behold are not all these which speak galileans and how we hear every man in our own tongue wherein we were born parthians mes elamites dwellers of Mesopotamia and in Judea caposa ponus Asia FIA pamilia Egypt parts of Libya about sirene strangers of Rome Jews and prelit cits and Arabians we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God and they were all amazed and were in doubt saying one to another what meaneth this I love that others mocking said these men are full of new wine now this is when Peter stands up and says what God's going to pour out his Spirit on All Flesh your sons and your daughters are going to prophesy so here Peter gets up quotes Joel and starts
talking about this is not the only thing you're going to see here this gift of tongues this is Supernatural tongu it's just the beginning you're going to your young your young men are going to see Visions your old men are going to dream dreams handmaidens and my daughters yes your women are going to prophesy and wait a minute prophecy is for the edification of the church so if women prophesy then then it's supposed to prophecy is supposed to be for the church oh that's right so they obviously can't speak in church and obviously you don't know what the heck you're talking about bunch of anti-women people out there another doctrine of men but that's another day so some people say I ignore the fact that this was known languages in Acts 2 no listen I was in Israel this is back in in 1988 and we had a me and my brother went and we had an Arab Taxi Driver Muslim who was trying to jip us and take us all over Creation in the Middle East so he could get more money out of us and he acted like he couldn't speak English so that was his game right so the Holy Spirit inspired me you just need to speak in tongues I don't know Arabic I don't know maybe now I know a word or two back then I knew nothing but the Lord said speak in tongues I'm sitting in the backseat of this taxi I just went speaking in tongues waving my hands at him like I don't know what I said but let me tell you he took us straight to where we were supposed to go right then and there no more took what money I gave him and left now you say well you need just thought you a crazy person maybe so or maybe I was telling him what he did last night and what sins he committed because you know what I don't know maybe I was speak speaking the hidden things the mysteries of God to him and it freaked him out or maybe I spoke in Arabic something that he could not believe someone would say who knows but he took us where we were supposed to go immediately and he took the 15 shekels I gave him without arguing sheckles I have had shekels real shekel all right now let's keep reading this Peter preaches this sermon and I want to go down cuz because the the next thing you always hear well this gift was only because when the apostles were around or this was only for the first century church but listen to this Peter preaches this sermon to everybody that's gathered around you killed the Prince of Life the Messiah God's raised him from the dead so he said these 3,000 people that are sitting there listening into this sermon they say men and brother what shall we do so drop down to verse oh we'll read from verse
36 the end of Peter's sermon you can read the whole chapter later therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made that same Jesus whom ye crucified both Lord and Christ now when they heard this they were pricked in their heart and said unto Peter and to the rest of the Apostles men and Brethren what shall we do then said Peter un to them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost if there's true repentance the next step after your sins are forgiven should be you should be receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit then he says this to to deal with any future confusion on the matter Peter says by the Holy Spirit speaking through him for the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are a far off even as many as the Lord Our God shall call Crystal Clear this is for everyone that the Lord will call Un to himself even those that are a far off meaning those in the future and we've got entire seminaries and denominations that say this stopped with the apostles or this stopped in the first century or this stopped when the cannon of the New Testament was finished doctrines of men lies demons talking to keep you from the power of the Holy Spirit that's what it is and I don't care how big their buildings are how big their seminaries are or how big their bank accounts are they have kept Christians from the power of the Holy Spirit by the doctrines of men woo somebody no more no more I will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ or of anything that he said or he taught and whether he taught it directly or he taught it through his Apostles and Prophets I will not be ashamed really a lot of people are ashamed oh and while we're bringing that up so acts two let's just do this Acts 2 says they all these people the 120 spoken known languages that they hadn't learned supernaturally people were marveling that's one aspect of it let's put up 1 Corinthians 13:1 quickly the Apostle Paul wrote by the Holy Spirit though I speak with the tongues of
men and of angels and have not charity I become a sounding brass or a tinkling symbol now see I believe what Jesus taught that every men shall not live by bread alone but by every word we actually had a Christian the other day that insulted my wife called her a jezebel one of Nathan Robert's buddies what was his name Scott Morrison devil demon-possessed calvinist fool called my wife of Jezebel I tell you what good thing you didn't do that in my face um it have been a different kind of fire let me tell you he said basically here God didn't mean what he said he was just using uh you know metaphor or uh hyperbole see this is what these these demon filled doctrines of men filled people do oh past you're supposed to call people no he not supposed to call a brother a fool this guy is a foolish virgin this guy is a fo and of course Solomon here's your fool here's your wise man so y'all Mark that down now is there hope for fool praise God there's hope for fool cuz we all all been fools at one point or another but I'm just going to speak it like it is the stuff is foolishness it's demonically inspired and it's really hate filled the way he spoke to my wife hate that's hate you don't have the Holy Spirit in you I assure you doing that M that fell is another he's another problem I'm me tell you these let me just say this these people that think they're going to get away with speaking against speaking against the Holy Spirit speaking against the gifts of the Spirit they think they're going to get away with this calling the power of God cundalini now Jesus warned in Matthew 12 he was casting demons out and the Pharisees says he does this by bills above the prince of the demons and you said whoa whoa whoa whoa wait a minute you can talk against me and it could be forgiven you but you start talking about the Holy Spirit this way and you're blaspheming and it will not be forgiven you not in this life or the next you see the problem is if you let your pride keep you from just reading the Bible and accepting what it says you're going to end up in trouble you're going to end up in big trouble hey Pastor Dean what is blaspheming the holy spirit let me tell you this is where you start down the road road to it and that's a road you don't want to get on you hear me I don't want a part of
any sins that Jesus said you can't be forgiven one of them's taking the mark of the beast you take the mark of the beast that's it there's no forgiveness no coming back from that and yet we got preachers saying we we got John MacArthur the most famous calvinist preacher out there on TV grace to you no demonic doctrines to you is what it should be he says you can take the mark of the beast and still go to heaven I have the the clip the audio clip of him saying it on the radio why because he's a calvinist he believes you're once saved always saved no matter what or you were or you were chosen so it doesn't matter there's nothing you can do to lose your salvation go ahead and believe that that liar and take the mark of the beast and find out what happens on Judgment Day your name will be blotted out of the book of life meaning it was in and then it gets removed there is no once saved always saved no matter how you live your life that's another demonic doctrine of men you can quench the Holy Spirit grieve the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit will leave you not a game I I don't even understand people I'd be scared to death to speak against one of the gifts of the holy spirit in the Bible or anything he that the Holy Spirit does I'd be scared to death even start down that road but most people don't don't don't have the fear of God anymore that's big part of the problem but here he says though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels so he clearly puts a distinction there are the tongues of men meaning all the languages of men that God himself gave at the Tower of Babel and then there's the tongues of angels obviously putting there's two different types isin't it interesting 1 Corinthians 12 calls the gift of tongues diverse kinds or different kinds so there's human tongues Angelic tongues Heavenly tongues this is Bible so this guy says you're not he told my wife when she brought this verse up that she was not keeping it in context I said you tell him that in the very next chapter he explains what he's talking about there is no you can't put your own interpretation on it because Paul explains it in the very next chapter so let's look at that so let's go to First Corinthians 14 the very next chapter starting at verse one say Pastor D why why are you fired up about this cuz I'm tired of Christians getting robbed I'm tired of you getting robbed of what you're all you're supposed to
have you're getting Short Change you're getting a weak neutered version of Christianity but let's read this y'all okay with this you learning something this morning all right let's look at it so Paul talks about the tongues of men and of angels and then he starts talking about what tongues is for primarily and what it is and then he he he introduces this term unknown tongue okay so let's read a little bit here 1 Corinthians 14:1 follow after charity or Love and Desire the word desire there means to earnestly Lust For so you're you're you're permitted to desire lust earnestly long for spiritual gifts so follow after Love and Desire spiritual gifts but rather that you may prophesy for he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men but unto God for no man understandeth him how be it in the spirit he speaketh Mysteries so here the Apostle Paul who went and spent three years in the deserts of Arabia and got Revelation direct from heaven and then at one point said he was called up to the Third third heaven and there's things he can't even talk about to us that he knows begins to reveal what tongues are really for on the day of Pentecost God wanted all those people there that spoke different languages to hear the gospel and to see this as a sign and to hear things they understood that's one use but the other use here he says he that speaks in an unknown tongue the different kind meaning the word unknown here means never known before not known by man never spoken before and he says and and and if you think that's crazy what does he say he says he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men but unto God for no man somebody say this with me no man no no man no understandeth him now if it was a known language in the world somebody would understand it right but he says this particular kind of tongue this unknown tongue this tongue of angels no man can understand he says how be it when a man is praying a man or woman is praying in an unknown tongue he says there are praying and speaking Mysteries between them and God what are Mysteries either things that you haven't seen yet you don't know things that God wants to reveal remember Paul said his job was to make known the Mysteries Jesus even said when he started speaking The Parables he said these things are hidden from the wise and prudent these are Mysteries hid from the foundation of the world but now and Mysteries just means hidden
things things you don't know maybe people don't know yet he says you're speaking Mysteries to God he says for no man understand and how be it in the spirit he speaks Mysteries and then he says but he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification exhortation and comfort so he's comparing the two he's not saying one's bad and the other's not or you know one's bad and others okay he's just saying there's a purpose the unknown tongue is not for primarily to help the the church service or the public worship or teaching service that's not primarily what it's for he said I would rather that you prophesy in church meaning speak with super the word prophesy means to speak by inspiration of the Holy Spirit to foretell events that's the definition of the word so he's saying that someone who speaks in their known language in the church and and and speaks either foretelling events or they're speaking supernaturally divine inspiration is going to edify strengthen and build up the body but he says tongues and he going to tell you right here listen to this verse four he that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself but he that that prophesieth edifieth the church the word edify to build to strengthen to charge like a battery can I can I ask you something Christian do you want to be spiritually strong or spiritually weak so here he says if you pray in an unknown tongue you are strengthening and building up yourself how is that bad how is that not needful for the Christian how how many Christians do we know that just struggle struggle struggle struggle weak weak weak weak all the time this is something to help you not hurt you amen there are people ask me all the time Pastor Dean how in the world do you do what you do how do you come up with the sermons The teaching how do you do how do you do this stuff and I tell them all the time it's not me I assure you I am beyond exhausted most of the time I am attacked on every side relentlessly physically mentally emotionally I am constantly barage I feel physically weak and so many times spiritually dry dead empty I want to crawl under a rock somewhere but you know how I get through it many many many many times this morning I drove we drove
yesterday three and a half hours there three and a half hours back after going through Thanksgiving after being up here all day trying to get books shipped out after constant attacks all week long and and we get back last night I'm so exhausted my my mind and body is crying for bed and I got to get ready for church and I'm like totally like Lord I am spent empty what do I do you know what I do after I pray in my known language for a while I started praying in tongues for a while and I prayed in tongues for a good while and all of a sudden I could feel the peace of God the strength no some ecstasy no just strengthening edifying clarifying where I can hear the Lord say do this that's not a bad thing I can't tell you how many times over the years sometimes I prayed in in tongues in the spirit for an hour until I felt the heaviness of the devil's attack lift off and then I pray I always pray for the interpretation so I ask God to tell me what I was praying about and he'll tell me part of it don't always tell me all of it but he'll tell me part of it this is Christianity and this is why Paul goes on he that prays in an unknown tongue edifies himself but had some nut on their Facebook arguing that this was bad edifying yourself is bad he's probably still smoking marijuana I mean you want you want to talk about the substitute I don't need marijuana cuz I have the Holy Ghost oh don't need the Cannabis need Jesus don't have enough Jesus you go to the Cannabis don't send me hate Ma I'll just delete you B Block Move Along making a point here why let's let's let's do this go to um I quoted this verse a minute ago Isaiah 28 behold your spot in 1 Corinthians 14 because we're coming right back to it all right here's the prophecy of the gift of tongues and what another definition what it's supposed to do how do we know it is because Paul we're going to go back to 1 Corinthians 14 and Paul quotes this verse from Isaiah 28 talking about tongues for with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people to whom he said this is the rest wherewith you may cause the weary to rest and this is the refreshing yet they would not
hear he's saying this is where you're going to get rest and refreshing and where God's going to speak to you and it's connected to stammering lips in another tongue he said but what did he say he he he prophesied that most of the church Church most people would not hear this they would not accept this with stammering lips in another tongue let me ask you something stammering lips now I've seen the tongues people get the stammering lips with the lips just just kind of nothing comes out real distinguished or strong but just almost like they're they're quivering but a little sound coming out how is that a known language that's in the world it's not so God even showing you here that some of it's going to be understood by man some of it won't be and frankly sometimes you don't want the devil knowing what you're praying about CU that's when he starts moving to interfere so it's uh you say well Pastor Dean if I'm praying about stuff I don't know what I'm praying about how is that helping me trust me it's helping you if you're praying between you and the God and God Mysteries and you're praying what you need to be praying and the holy spirit's helping you pray do you really have to know what it's about or can you just trust him to be doing what's best for you you just trust him see that's why let me tell you something this is why this builds Faith because Jude talked about praying in the Holy Spirit building up your faith why it builds faith is because you're not leaning to your own understanding you're not trusting your own understanding and reasoning you're trusting the Holy Spirit to work through you and pray through you and worship through you and strengthen you you're trusting the gift that he's given you to work and do what it's supposed to do without you having to understand everything how many times people have told me over the years I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard I I've prayed all I know to pray but I know that in my heart I need to pray more but I don't know what to say I don't have the words to say anymore but I know I need to pray more because the burden had lifted it's because you need to pray in tongues you need to pray in the spirit you need to pray with those groanings that cannot be uttered with intelligible known speech this is the rest in the refresh let's go back to 1 Corinthians 14 got to finish this up this morning and you know something what's amazing is you have to even if you're in a Pentecostal or a charismatic church that believes this stuff and and say let's say everybody in the place has
received the baptism the Holy Spirit and the gift of tongues what's amazing is the Christians who have received this gift who begin to neglect it and don't do it and they they they get back into the habit of Leaning constantly praying in their known language for us English and they get into depending again they're depending on themselves depending on their own mind and reasoning I mean it's just like fasting folks fasting does not feel good the flesh hates fasting it's against everything we know and feel we like to eat we're made to eat we have to eat to survive so fasting goes to against all that and can make you feel horrible especially for a few days and yet we have to believe what God's word said about that there's beneficial not just not just physical things but he said but Jesus when Jesus they brought the boy to the disciples and they they couldn't cast the demons out of the boy and they said Jesus why couldn't we do it they'd been doing it but what happened is they ran out they ran out of Power and Jesus said this kind comes not out but only by prayer and fasting and so if you went by your feelings how your flesh feels and sometimes even your mind when you're fasting you would never fast but what are you doing when you're fasting you're trusting God's words that says it's going to give you the power and the ability and the anointing you need to get done what you need to get done maybe sometimes against the devil in spiritual warfare so it God does these things prayer how many times do we get down to pray we don't feel anything and and you you have to pray in faith what does faith mean it doesn't matter what I see doesn't matter how I feel I know that God is hearing me even if I feel like the worst wret and most miserable weak anemic person that exists prayer is always building your faith fasting is building your faith but praying in tongues also builds your faith why would you not want this Jude 1:20 building up yourselves on your Most Holy Faith praying in the Holy Ghost see Paul talked about let's keep reading let's go back to 1 Corinthians 14 I'll try to button this up continue next week I'm going to talk about calini going show the difference between the two God's word is powerful all right here we go 1ans 14 let's go
back to verse four again well let's just read from verse one again this is this is you need to get it down in you follow after charity and desire spiritual gifts but rather that you may prophesy for he that speak speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men but unto God for no man understandeth him how beit in the spirit he speaketh Mysteries but he that prophesy speaketh unto men to edification and exhortation and comfort he that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself but he that prophesieth edifieth the church so the the dude that said this is bad he's like oh you're just building up self if you pray in Tong next verse I would that you all spake with tones well if it's bad why would Paul said I wish you all would do it idiocy out there that I would that you all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied for greater is he that prophesied than he that speaketh with tongues except he interpret that the church may receive edifying so he's saying if you have tongues in church and interpretation guess what that equals the gift of Prophecy so again tongues is tongues being cast aside is something bad here no all Paul is doing here is explaining two things he's explaining how tongues the purpose of tongues the gift of tongues in the private life of the believer and how it's supposed to work in a public church service he's only showing you the difference he is not hating on tongues this this this nonsense men have taken that and taken this P this chapter and twisted it into something it's not I'm sorry but it's the truth let's keep reading he said now Brethren if I come to you speaking with tongues what shall I profit you except I speak to you either by Revelation or by knowledge or by prophesying or by Doctrine and even things without Life Giving sound or the pipe or harp except they give a distinction in the sounds uh he says how shall it be known what is piped or heart for if the trumpet give an uncertain sound who shall prepare himself to battle so likewise except you utter by the Tongue words easy to be understood how shall it be known what is spoken for you shall speak into the air and so he's he's telling them look in church when we get together there's going to be people there baby Christians there's going to be non-christians there's going to be struggling Christians we need to be speaking things easy to be understood so that they will get stronger the purpose is not to come together every meeting everybody to speak in tongues for an hour and we go home that's not supposed to be what that's what he's addressing as the let me tell you the Corinthians were a bunch of wild maniacs okay and he was having to tone them down a bit but he wasn't throwing the baby out with the bath water let's go on there are maybe so
many kinds of voices in the world and none of them is without distinction therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian and he shall he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me even so ye for as much as you are zealous of spiritual gifts seek that you may excel to the edifying of the church verse 13 wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret for if I pray in an unknown tongue my spirit prayeth but my understanding is unfruitful what is it then I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the understanding also I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the understanding also so again here Paul says look I'm going to do both I'm going to pray with my understanding and I'm going to pray in the spirit or pray in unknown tongues as well I'm going to do both I'm going to sing in the spirit in unknown tongues and I'm going to sing in my understanding let me tell you there wasn't anybody more Pentecostal than the Apostle Paul who wrote half the new test he was Pentecostal Holy Ghost filled tongue talking prophesying man of God unashamed and told the whole church here's how it works here's the purpose of it you should do both oh my but they won't teach this at First Baptist you won't hear it verse 16 else when thou shalt bless with the spirit how shall he that occupy the room of the unlearned say Amen at the giving of thanks seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest for thou verily givest thanks so Paul says if if let's say somebody I asked somebody stand up and pray this morning to lead it in prayer and they prayed in tongues everybody else in there going go what did they just pray we don't know what they pray but Paul said but you indeed did pray and give thanks so he's not slaming he said you did pray but the other people didn't get the benefit of what you prayed still not slamming either way to show in the differences and the purpose and he says verse 17 for for thou verily giveth thanks well but the other is not edified Verse 18 I thank my God I speak with tongues more than ye all Paul just said he spoke with tongues more than the Corinthian Church obviously Paul used this gift a lot in his prayer life in his worship life and his devotional life between him and the Lord this was important to him this was powerful to him he is letting you know I speak in tongues more than all of you but when I come that's what
he's saying when I come to you in public it's more important that I teach you or that I prophesy to you or that I edify you in some way but what prepared Paul to be able to edify the church is because he had been in private edify himself can't give what you don't have you can't teach what you don't know and you can't lead where you won't go these folks out here that don't speak in tongues should not even open their mouth about it you know nothing oh I'm goingon to get some hate meal I don't care bring it you know Jesus said he said you know we we've gone through a time in these last couple of months since the conference God God moved so powerfully and man let me tell you we have had more people betray us abandon us leave us forsake us come against us that we friends church family you wouldn't believe it but Jesus said he said in Matthew 24 he said in the last days he said the love of many is going to grow cold the word love he used there is agape love that means only the Christians can have that one he said that love is going to grow cold and he said they're going to be offended and betray one another and hate one another Christians hating one another yeah I am hated mostly by Christians with a passion because I say the things they don't want to hear I teach the things that they don't want to believe and that's okay going to do it till Jesus comes or I go be with him so as my daughter says buckle up buttercup I think she might have a little bit of me in her a little bit my wife says a lot so let's keep reading here I got to finish this he says Verse 18 I than my God I speak with tongues more than yall yet in the church I had rather speak five words than my understanding that by my voice I might teach others also than 10,000 words in an unknown tongue Breen be not children in understanding what's that right there grow up Bunch lunatics grow up why are you children in understanding this is not hard brother be not children and in understanding how be it in in Malice be ye children but in understanding be ye men he says verse 21 here's where he quotes Isaiah
28:11 he says in the law it is written with men of other tongues and the word men of the two words there are actually not in the original Greek so really what it should say here is with other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people and yet for all that they will not hear me sayeth the Lord then he then he lets you know what he's talking about tongues to the very next verse he says tongues are for a sign not to them that believe but to them that believe not but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not but for them which believe if therefore the whole church become come together in one place and all speak with tongues and there come in those that are unlearned or unbelievers will they not say that you are mad but if all prophesy and there come in one that beli with not or one that is unlearned he is convinced or convicted of all and he is judged of all and thus the secrets of his heart are made manifest and so falling down to his face he will worship God and report that God is in you of a truth so here he even defines prophecy for if Prophecy in the church is when the secrets of your heart are revealed and there there whole denomination the Baptists say preaching is prophesying and no not the same thing Paul talks about teaching and Doctrine being one thing and prophesying being another prophesying is when the secrets of your heart start getting revealed like when people tell me Pastor Dean you said exactly what I was asking the Lord about this morning or I tell you what you've been doing that you shouldn't have been doing and the Lord does that and so what he's saying here is prophesying also includes words of wisdom words of knowledge Discerning of spirits right oh me so he goes on to say if the whole church be come together verse 23 and you all speak with tongues they coming unlearned unbelievers will not see you mad but if all prophesy or come in one that believeth not convinced secrets of his heart are revealed now go to verse 26 how is it then Brethren when you come together so he's now he's talking about when we do come together as a church Public Service how is it then Brethren when you come together every one of you hath a Psalm hath a Doctrine hath a tongue does this look like tongues are forbidden in the public service no hath a revelation hath an interpretation let all things be done unto edifying If any man speak in an unknown tongue Let It Be by two or by the most by three and by course let one interpret if there be no interpreter let him keep silence in the church and let him speak to himself and to God let the prophets speak two or three and let the others judge if anything be revealed to another that sth by let the first hold his peace for you may all prophesy one by one that all may learn and be comforted and the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets meaning God doesn't Force us to do operating the gifts we have to choose to yield and so we can also control ourselves for proper times if there's uncontrollable
Outburst not God right so what does he say here and and it doesn't always mean it's the devil sometimes it's just people being people right here here what he said for you all may prophesy one by one that all may learn and be comforted the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets for God is not the author of confusion but of Peace as in all churches of the Saints he says this go to verse 37 If any man think himself to be a prophet or spiritual let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the Commandments of the Lord but if any man be ignorant let him be ignorant wherefore Brethren covet to prophesy and forbid not to speak with tongues let all things be done decently in an order now there are churches that if you went into and spoke in tongues they would throw you out that certainly doesn't sound encouraging I remember a message years ago real simple one tongues encouraged or forbidden I would add these days people are more subtle encouraged or spoken against in a passive aggressive manner as this is the games people play I'm going to end on one verse here let's we're going to end with this go to Mark 16 15- 20 just want to we'll we'll end with Jesus words here if that's okay Mark 16 oh I to put these on so I can see thank you Lord you know I've never I've never a 30 y I I was baptized in the holy spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues in let's see it was June so July August so somewhere August September of 1987 shortly after I came back rededicated my life to the Lord and read it for myself in the Bible I would have never found out at the Baptist Church that I went to down the road when I was a kid I had to read it for myself I had to find it for myself um but here's what Jesus said let's read this verse 15 and he said unto them go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to Every Creature he that believeth in his baptized shall be saved but he that believeth not shall be damned and these signs shall follow them that believe in my name they shall cast out Devils they shall speak with new tongues the word
new here in the the's Greek Lexicon says this recently made recently made not old remember all the known languages of man were given at bible so not old languages not the languages of been new recently made new ones the the's Greek leg says recently made fresh recent unused unworn not old new imagine that new means new of a new kind un unprecedented and the word unprecedented means which means never done or known before uncommon unheard of given now for the first time previously non-existent wow so Jesus said these signs should follow them that believe Peter said in Acts 2 this is for everyone as many as the Lord shall call even even those that are far off so who whose report are you going to believe whose report are you going to believe God's word or First Baptist Church God's word or watered down mega church God's word or the Methodist Church God's word or the Presbyterians God's word or the calvinist God's word or John MacArthur and then you got to ask yourself am I willing to do what I need to do to get my life in order to get myself in obedience to get myself pursuing God until I'm endued with power from on high now let me say this well Pastor Dean I've had I know I the holy spirit's in me and I've had God talk to me and I've had dreams and visions and stuff and I've had gifts I've had Supernatural things happen and I hadn't been I hadn't spoken in tongues yes why the Holy Spirit can do anything through any body anytime he wants but that doesn't negate the fact that he wants us to receive this this experience this thing that's this biblical Doctrine and it's called the baptism of the Holy Spirit and we're going to cover more about but if we go we we go to acts 10 everyone he said they they receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit the gift just like we did in the middle of Peter preaching think about this everybody starts speaking in tongues as he's preaching the Gospel Holy Spirit Falls fills everyone everyone speaking in tongues in cornelius's household like I said Nathan Roberts be screaming
calini and then Peter just stops and goes hey I guess we need to baptize these in water they must be Believers now cuz they receive the gift of the Holy Spirit just like we meaning while Peter was preaching these people believe the gospel were born again and the holy spirit filled them instantly and he said how do we know this for we heard them speak with tongues it was a sign to Peter even hey hey they've been filled with the Holy Spirit just like we were same thing happened in Acts 19 obviously it happened at the church of Corinth people say you know remember when after after Saul of Tarsus got saved and he was blinded by the glory of God and he said you wait you go wait in the city I'm going to send ananas just a simple disciple didn't need an apostle but I'm going to send a a disciple they mananas he's going to lay hands on you you're going to receive your sight back and you're going to be filled with the Holy Spirit so little ananas walks in there prays for Paul his sight comes back he's filled with the Holy Spirit now in Acts nine there it doesn't say he spoke in tongues but guess what we know we know Paul spoke in tongues more than the Corinthian Church so obviously he received the same thing that the 120 received that cornelius's household received that the 12 disciples at Ephesus received I love the 12 disciples at Ephesus Paul just says have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed I mean isn't that a simple question you've believed already in Jesus you've already accepted Jesus you've believed your Disciples of Jesus have you received the Holy Ghost since you believe they go we don't even know what you're talking about and then Paul explained it to them laid hands on them and the Holy Ghost came on them and they prophesied remember this baptism is called the the baptism of the Holy Ghost and Fire and Paul laid hands on them and they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit how do we know he said they spoke in tongues and prophesied Acts 19 1-12 this is Bible Doctrine sound Doctrine it is listed in Hebrews 6 under the foundational principles of the doctrine of Christ the doctrine of baptisms plural and the laying on of hands and I'm going to deal more with that next week this is he's saying this is foundational principles yet most of the church do they do not have this down or understand this at all and yet it is Bible so my encouragement to you is quit believing men believe the word of God and pursue
God and seek God and deal with what you need to deal with until you receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit and you begin to speak in other tongues so you can have that that Grace and that help from the gift of tongues to help you in prayer in worship to strengthen you spiritually and what you're going to find out after you start doing that and you start praying for the interpretation you're going to start hearing the Lord speak to you and reveal things to you more frequently and I don't know any Christian who should not hunger and thirst for those things oh but it sounds like foolishness and God has chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise amen you're crazy no I'm right let's stand I want to do that what was that new song I want to do come alive cuz our viewers our audience out there didn't get to hear it this morning this is a great new song we're going to worship let let me just say this while they're getting that ready you any Christian this is for anyone you don't have to you get to you don't have to be perfect you have to be hungry you have to be humble you have to be willing to seek him until you receive sometimes just like in the Bible people receive the the baptism the fullness of the spirit the gift of tongues nobody prays for them nobody lays hands on them boom it just happens but also in the Bible it also happened with people laying hands on people so it can happen either way I guess some people only Jesus baptizes in the Holy spir well nobody's saying that he doesn't but sometimes he does it without somebody another believer laying hands on you and sometimes he uses somebody he did it with Paul both ways he did it with Peter so I just get I just get blown away by people uh we're going to take this one passage but we're going to ignore this one over here stop all false doctrines are created that way or we say incomplete doctrin all right we basically almost had a class this morning didn't we about that long all right let's do this song Worship the Lord this morning before we go
