You know, the Bible says it's about the devil, right? He's a thief. Remember John 10:10, the thief cometh not, but what? To kill, steal, and destroy. The devil loves to steal stuff.
He loves to steal it and make it his own. Right? See, he's not really a creator. He's a twister. He's a perverter. He steals things that are gods and tries to pervert them. Right? We all know this, right? And yet many of us Christians agree with him on some of these things. Think about agreeing with the with the devil. He's a thief. I want to show you something. And and before we we get to this, I want to read something. You I guess you can put up the title and then we're going to put up Go to Psalm 19. Going to revisit something this morning. The devil's tried to steal. And let me tell you, he's trying really hard to steal it. He spent over 500 years working on a lie to to steal this truth that I'm going to share with you this morning. Again, now you say, "Pastor Dean, we've heard you preach or talk about this before." Yeah, you have. But there's a lot of people that hadn't. Lot of people that hasn't. Plus, I got to ask you the question, my my folks here. Could you preach this without my PowerPoint or because you should be able to by now. Remember what Paul said to the Hebrews at the time come you ought to be teachers. You need someone teach you again. But though I'm going to throw up some slides and some definitions and things that I've used before, I just want to say I'm not going to let the devil come on steal anything in God's word, God's creation. Yes. And twist it and let that be presented as the truth when I know it's a lie. Amen. All right. And the firmament that God created, he's pretty proud of it. Spent all of day two making it. Right? And then he says this in Psalm 19. Let's read it from verse one. The heavens, notice, piece of plural here. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth his handiwork. Day and day utterth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge. There is no speech, nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle. Somebody say a tabernacle. Tabernacle for the son, which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from one end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it. And there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. Now I believe that the scriptures are inspired by God.
That the Holy Spirit moved upon David here to write exactly this every word. Remember Jes said man shall not live by bread alone but by every word. Somebody say every word. Every word. And there is no way you read this passage here in Psalm 19 that talks about the firmament and then gives you actually a picture of it tabernacle for the sun to run in a circuit from one end of heaven to the other meaning that it has an end right a limit. But what wait what do they tell you it is? It's endless, ongoing, ever expanding, right? Everything about creation pretty much they lie to you about Satan took the creation of man, God taking the dust of the earth and forming Adam and then taking Adam's rib and forming took that and nope. Nope. Millions and millions of years you came out of the primordial goo. Somehow you morphed into some little worm and then fish and then the fish started walking. And there's people who actually believe this with their whole heart. They believe evolution with their whole heart. I mean, even the Catholic Church that claims to be Christian, which I don't believe they're they are at all, but they claim to be Christian and they talk about, oh, well, well, you know, God could work through evolution. No, he didn't. Why? Because we know what the book says. The devil steals things. And look, the origin of man, right? The origin of man, the creation of man, and the creation of the heavens and the earth, these are not up for debate when it comes to Christian. They really are not. The only reason there's any debate at all about any of this stuff is because the devil has created his perverted versions. And there are so-called Christians who've decided to believe it. That's it. That's all there is to it. I was supposed to do a bait the debate this Friday on a radio station, series of radio station. I guess they're on all over now with the internet, but these were uh the one, you know, I recently did an interview on and uh these were two Christian apologists that go to some university there in South Carolina and they were going to debate me on air live. I was like, "Yeah, let's do it." They backed out. And you know, they didn't give a reason they backed out. But I'll say this. I said, you know, I I told uh my friend Mike Zwick, who was going to do the interview slashdebate. I said, well, they probably went and looked at the debate with Greg Lockach, and they probably didn't want to be pushed in the corner of either believing
in the divine inspiration of scripture or not, because that's exactly where I was going to push him. right into that corner, Christian. Um, and here's the thing. Remember Jesus said, "He that is ashamed of me and ashamed of my words, of him will I be ashamed in the day." Now, I had somebody on, I think the Dino Europe page comment, and this guy is just he's like uh that woman that created the Facebook page against me years ago. He's just I it it wouldn't matter if I cured cancer or whatever, I would be doing something bad. All right. So anyway, but this guy comes on there and he talks about how I'm basically making this a salvation issue. No, but let me explain something. You don't have to believe this to be saved because I was saying before I understood the truth about creation where Satan had stolen it and perverted it. But I was living in a place of ignorance. Okay? There's difference between living in a place of ignorance and then it being told you and shown to you and then you saying no. or it's been laid out to you line by line, precept upon precept, and you still say no. Or you say, "Well, they just didn't understand that." Mo Moses and Joshua just didn't understand the nature of creation. David didn't understand it. That's the only places you have to go. And I'm just going to tell you this guy right here is not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Meaning any part of that message which I have defined the gospel of Jesus Christ as everything that he said and did from Genesis to Revelation because he's the creator. He's God manifested in the flesh. So if we want to talk about Jesus, we don't talk about Jesus just a teacher or just a prophet or whatever. He is God Almighty, the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Uh the word made flesh who dwelt among us, right? The one who created everything. Right? Now, when it says the heavens declare the glory of God, the heavens and the firmament showeth his handiwork. When it says that, think about that. Think about God talking about the heavens, which I'm going to show you in Genesis 1 just a second. But the heavens, the first heaven, our atmosphere created by the second heaven, the solid firmament, crystalline dome. And then the third heaven Paul talked about is where God dwells. Right? So when he talks about the heavens, hamim, which is Hebrews plural, anytime you have the im in Hebrew is plural. So he's talking about multiple heavens. He said, "Declare the glory of God." Now think about this. If the devil is trying to steal the truth about any of these, what is he trying to steal?
The glory of God. The glory of God. The truth of God. Are we supposed to as Christians sit back and let just let that happen because we are afraid to stand up against the whole world system? See, it must have been strange to the people of the world in the days of Noah when he started talking about water coming from heaven to flood the earth when it had never even rained. He probably sounded like a complete weirdo, right? Who is this freak who is talking about water falling from heaven when it has never fallen from heaven? And he's building a boat on the land, a big boat. He can't drag it to the water. This guy is crazy. And get this, Noah had zero converts for 120 years. We don't even know if his family was fully with him. Think about that. And yet the Bible calls him a preacher of righteousness. Why was why did he believe these things that had never happened? He never had seen before. because he knew God was telling him the truth and he probably didn't understand how it was all going to how it was all going to happen. But the Lord said, "You better get prepared. Build the boat." And it he's in he's listed in the Hebrews 11 hall of faith, right? Why? Because he believed the word of God over what he had not even seen. Think about that. See, I've never seen with my two eyes the firmament, but I believe it because I can see it described in the Bible throughout the Bible. And there's a lot of descriptions of it. And therefore, I know what it is, and I believe what it is. I'll have to see it. Right now, let's go to um Psalm 108. Now, this is something this is a little bit new here that I'm going to give you because the word firmament here in um Psalm 19, of course, is raia from the Greek word raqa. We're going to cover that in a minute. It means to it actually means to expand and beat out something that's solid into a shape, right? uh and that's why the Greeks when they translated the Old Testament from Hebrew to Greek the Septuagent version they used the word stereoma we're going to go there which denotes something firm solid not uh a thin vapor expanse but what's
interesting one of the reasons I think that um they they get into this it's a thin vapor expanser talking about that is because of this and I'm going to show show you something. Uh, let's go to Psalm. Yeah, I said Psalm 108. Let me get there myself. Maybe if I just use my orange and blue markers there, I find myself. All right. Psalm 108, I want you to just go, we'll go to verse one. He says, "Oh God, my heart is fixed." That means established and stable. I will sing and give praise even with my glory. Which I found interesting. I was just reading and studying this the other day. And then this really got me. I I was reading this and I got to verse four. Well, verse three says, 'I will praise thee, oh Lord, among the people. I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. Why? For thy mercy is great above the heavens, and thy truth reaches unto the clouds. And I thought, clouds, that's not very high, is it? There's stuff much higher. Does the truth go higher than the clouds in our atmosphere? And so I decided to look that word up. And then of course he goes on to say uh be thou exalted, oh God above the heavens and thy glory above all the earth. But I want to go to this word in the clouds. [snorts] So and I'm hopefully I'm going to pronounce this correctly. Hold on. Let's see. Um maybe we'll let if I have it pulled up here. I think it's Shak. All right. There you go. But this is this is interesting because it's a different word. Let's put that up. Just go back to the PowerPoint. I guess I need the clicker, don't I? We can turn it on. [sighs] All right. Let's see here. All right. So, let's look at this word real quick because this is something I came across this and I was like, okay. So, it's it's translated cloud 11 times. sky seven times, heaven two times, small dust one time. Now, this is one of those words that depends on the context. Um, and sometimes when the translators were picking these words, right, to translate, they didn't always pick the best one for the verse. Like I've told y'all about, you know, choros horse, the green horse of Revelation. and they picked the word pale because the definition of the word was pale green or just green, right? And the translators are trying to give you the best description that they can. So they're sitting there going, there's no such thing as a green horse, right? So they go, "Well, pale, so we we'll just go with pale." Well, because of that choice, it's not technically wrong. It's just not the best word to describe it. But now that we've moved further and we understand what the green horse is
now that has authority over one quarter of the earth, Islam, which we're going to get into that I had forgotten the better choice would have been saying green instead of pale. So we have this sometimes whenever you're translating from another language to, you know, you just have not always the best description. But what I found interesting is this word shak, right? It says here a powder as beaten small which remember the word rock or rocka means to beat something out thinner and to spread it out by beating it. Okay, like they do with metals like how they make swords. Okay. Um and then it says a thin vapor and then it says by extension the firmament. And they went hey wait a minute here. This would make more sense when it says, "Thy mercy is great above the heavens, and thy truth reaches to the firmament." Why? Because we know by Ezekiel 1 that God's throne sits upon the actual firmament. So, you get what I'm saying? This is, and I'm I'm doing this for a reason because I want you to understand this is how you study the Bible. This is how you interpret even some of these definitions. We have to interpret the definition sometimes because again people giving these definitions were doing the best they could. They're still human. So you have to look at how we have to look is how is this word used in the Bible because that really determines what it means. Okay. So when it says his mercy and his truth reaches to the firmament where his throne sits, that would make sense, right? because that it would end with him, not our clouds in our atmosphere. It doesn't go very high. I've been above our clouds. Okay? But all I want to tell you another thing, there's two sets of clouds. There's the clouds in our firm in in our atmosphere beneath the firmament and then there's the dark clouds that are either in the firmament itself built within it or right above it because it talks about the Lord talks about he surrounds himself with the dark clouds. Those are what we see here as nebula. They even call them clouds. All right. But I believe the Lord's saying beyond that that this one is talking about the firmament. All right. And so that was the Strongs. This is the uh the Brown Driver Briggs Hebrew and English lexicon. And if you'll notice, it says down here, this is what got me. It says the heavens, the sky, and it says Job 37:18. I'm like, whoa, wait a minute. That's the same word used in Job 37:18. The Justinia says the same thing right down here. Job 37 or no I'm
talking the firmament of heaven. This word shak and this is job says hast thou with him spread out the sky. Here's what's interesting. Spread out raqa to beat out. All right. The sky, the word sky here is shak. The firmament which is strong as a molten looking glass. Okay. So just this word itself not just rakia but this word shak means in depending on the context and here we have the context we have the holy spirit through scripture revealing to us that the raqa the verb the threeletter verb right to beat out where the word rakia comes from the shak the firmament which is strong, solid, like molten looking glass. Right? Now, this is what the Bible says now. Let's go back to this. Now, then this is why this is so important. Again, Genesis 1 gives us it gives us the hint. It gives us the the first what you say the first uh clear revelation that this is something solid. And this is what the Hebrews believed for millennia. Yet we have people like Danny Falner and some of these peoples like answer in Genesis and some of these places that are simply liars. They will actually say that the Hebrew prophets, men and women of God, didn't believe this, right? I I've heard them say it that they didn't teach this. a flat dome covered three- tiered system. But let's look at this. In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. The earth was without form and void. Darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the waters. And God said, "Let there be light." And there was light. Is that literal? Did that literally happen? Yes. Absolutely. That's right. God saw the light that it was good, divided light from the darkness. He called the light day, the darkness night, and the evening morning were the first day. God said secondly, "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament, and the waters which were above the firmament. It was so. And God called the firmament heaven. It's interesting, capital H. I wonder why they did that. And the evening and the morning were the second day. Now, can you fathom, right, that these creation ministries out here say that all this word firmament means is an empty expanse, right?
Because the firmament, someone say, "Well, the firmament is shows God's handiwork because of the the stars and the nebula and the galaxies and but wait a minute, he didn't create any of that till day four. How could this just be an empty expanse? Yet, it shows the glory of God and his great handiwork. You know what? What do we learn? What do we learn in architecture? Anybody take architecture? What do we learn? Drafting class. I had drafting in seventh grade. All right. Arch. Strongest structure there is. Right. God built a big structure that day on the second day. And I believe too [clears throat] as we're going to see itself that just that structure was absolutely stunning, beautiful beyond words. Okay? And it went over the whole of the earth. All right? Now, let's keep going here. And then then God said, "Okay, here's day four." We got the the third day. And then we said God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night. And let there them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years. And let them be for lights in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth." So the lights he made, the sun, moon, and stars were after the fact. After the firm, somebody say completely separate. Completely separate. Uhhuh. Now you're starting to get something here. Now let's keep going. See if I can get this to go. All right. Now, let's listen because you know I'm somebody asked me about this the other day and I said I have it I just so you know too um I have the entire lecture. I don't have just excerpts of this lecture from uh Dr. Michael Heiser, but it's good to hear him say it here himself. Israelite cosmology has three tiers. This is the ten commandments passage. You shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that is in the earth beneath or that is in the water under the earth three levels. New Testament is the same. Philippians 2:8 10. So that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth. What? Like the worms? No, we're we're going to see what they were thinking here. Revelation five, heaven, earth, under the earth. It's a three- tiered cosmology.
This is what it would look like. I didn't make this graphic, which is why it looks cool. Okay, somebody gave this to me because they hated honestly at Western they they hated the one I used and so they gave me this. This is a three- tiered cosmology. There's God. We're going to see in the verses I'll show you that God lives above the vault of heaven, the firmament. And in the firmament, you have windows and doors and you have the earth. We're going to see verses that talk about the ends of the round flat earth. Here underneath is shield. Shield can be both the grave and it [clears throat] can also be the underworld. Okay, it's it's not quite hell but it's sort of like hell. We can talk a little bit about it. And then underneath that we have the great deep. These are all scriptural terms that are on this map. This is what an Israelite, an Egyptian would have had different terms, but the same three- tiered level. Same with the Mesopotamians. Now, they have theologically they have dramatically different views of what's going on here. Not just who made it, but what's going on. Views of afterlife, the value of humanity. I mean, it's it's dramatically different. And I've made the comment before, Genesis is about theological messaging. And there are some dramatic differences in what Israel is saying, the Bible is saying, and anything else. So, you heard him say that. Now, what's sad is, of course, he goes on to say that he doesn't believe that and that, you know, um it's really sad. I I hate that. Um, I don't know how somebody could teach here's what the Bible says and be a Christian, be a professor, and then say, "But they just didn't know what they were writing about." Um, and let me just tell you a phrase I'm sick and tired of hearing, that the Bible's not a science book. All you're saying when you say that right there, especially in the context of discussing creation, you're saying the Bible's not right. The Bible's not the science book. No, we have another religious book called the Science Book, right? I'm telling you Christians, you think these these phrases are just we're just talking. No. No, you're not. You're disagreeing with what God's word says and you're actually degrading it, saying it's wrong, cuz we know better. firmament. In biblical cosmology, the firmament is a vast solid dome created by God on the second day to divide the primal sea called Tome into the upper and lower portion so that the dry land could appear. There it I mean, okay. Um
again, there's the biblical definition, right? Um here's where it gets interesting. the Amplified Bible. I've shared this before, but it says, "When he established the heavens, I wisdom was there. When he drew a circle upon the face of the deep, drew a circle, not a ball. When he made firm the skies above, somebody say firm." Exactly why they use that Latin phrase. And the foundation of the springs of the deep became fixed and strong. I'm going to show y'all something I discovered about this probably next week. I can't get into this about we're going we're going to go from the firmament to the oceans. And but when he set for the sea its boundary, the ice wall all the way around so that the waters would not transgress the boundaries set by his command. And when he marked out the foundations of the earth, there it is. So God marked out the foundations by what? Drawing a circle, right? He made firm the skies which is the firmament. He set them down upon it. Put up for me. I didn't put this in the PowerPoint but um give you a show you another where the best words were not chosen but um Amos 9:6 real quick. Amos 9:6 will kind of get describe this sometimes. I really didn't know for sure I was going to do this until this morning. So it Amos 9:6 says this, "It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth, and he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and pourth them out upon the face of the earth. The Lord is his name." Now, let's stop there. This is interesting because when you look up the word he builds his stories that literally means steps up to another level. Okay, there you go. Next level, right? I think this is where stairway to heaven came from the song. But it talks about him building a multilevel system and then this system that he built his stories the second the second story where he put his throne. He says here it says he hath founded his troop. Well if you look this up the word guda right I believe is how you pronounce it. But it literally is talking about how he fastened or bound right this structure he built to be his floor and our ceiling. This structure he [clears throat] built how he bound it to the earth as well.
Remember he had the the oceans, right? He said let the dry land appear, the earth, right? And then when he fitted it, he bound it to the earth. Okay? So the firmament is actually part two of the earth system. All right? I just wanted you to see that. Now you understand, go back to that slide, please. The the one there in Proverbs chapter 8. You see, and again, this is how the Bible is these puzzle pieces and we put them together. But God built this thing all of day two of creation, y'all. See, again, we let the Bible be true and every man a liar, right? The flood was around 2500 BC and yet by the Holy Spirit, King David wrote, "Praise him, ye heavens of heavens." What What's the heavens of heavens? Praise him, you heavens of heavens, right? and ye waters that be above the heaven. And then he wrote about this. He hath made darkness his secret place. His pavilion round about him. The right here. I love that pavilion about him uh were dark waters and thick clouds of the
shak thick clouds of the firmament. That's the nebula. But notice he's talking about this. This was written about 1,00 BC by now. So here what I'm saying men, Christian men have had a theory. Dr. uh Ba, one of the creation science guys out of Texas, uh what's his name? The baldheaded guy. Um I can't think of him now. But he, you know, again, they try to mix, again, secular, I'm going to say it, satanic cosmology with God's word, and it doesn't mix. Anyway, the word is true. The Holy Spirit wouldn't be talking about the waters still above the heavens if they were gone in the days of Noah. So either God's word is true or these bunch of men out here with all their theories. Let God be true and every man a liar. Now here we go. Just so you see it. This is what the Bible teaches. Now here's the word Rocky. I wanted you just to see this again. Rakia basically is this root word with just adding in one letter. Most Hebrew words that are more than three letters have a threeletter root word. Okay? So raqa means to beat out, to spread out, to stamp, to press down. Rocka means that thing that was beat out and spread out. Okay? But it's a solid. It's physical. Um, and that's why I said firmament does not mean empty expanse. [snorts] Literally, it says here an expansion of plates. Now, this is a lexicon that I have put together by 40 different theologians across the world back probably in the 80s. I think I still I have it in my office. It's a two volume set I have. Okay. Literally. Somebody say literally. not an expand. No, notice it says the NASB, the New American Standard Version renders it more. No, there's nothing more correct about the New American Standard Version. Let's just get that out of the way. But these are the guys again, these guys doing these things trying to throw in the theories of men, the definitions of men instead of just letting it be what it's supposed to be. But notice it adds, it throws in, oh, it's just an expans. No, literally, here's what it means. An expansion of plates. Now, how can an expansion of plates be just an expanse? You understand? This is the foolishness we deal with in these arguments against the word of God. Uh it goes on to say,
Raqqa acquires the sense of beating out precious metals and of spreading uh that results to spread over overlay. Okay, these are what the words Rockia and Raqqa mean. Period. No debate about it. Now, as we look at the definitions of words, we see this what we see raia, raqa, shak mean the same thing. And they're giving us the definition of these things. Spread out. There it is. And remember Jesus said when the firmament is rolled back like a scroll at his second coming right it reveals it shows it reveals him and they say oh hide us from the wrath of the lamb and that's when too the all the stars fall. Why? Because he is rattling the firmament. Now he says Jesus says that the stars are somehow attached to the firmament like figs are attached to a fig tree. Now, I don't know what that means. It could be attached by some electromagnetic force. Um, we don't know. We don't know, but they're attached. But it does say when God begins to shake the firmament and roll it back like a scroll, open it up, it's going to appear a pretty violent thing. Powers of heaven firmament shall be shaken, right? And then the stars fall like figs. This says here um and he will destroy in this mountain
the face of the covering cast over all people and the veil that is spread over all nations. All right. He will swallow up death and victory. And the Lord will wipe away tears from off all faces and rebuke his pe uh the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth. And the Lord hath spoken it. So we know the context is when when does Jesus say that all tears are going to be wiped away? When he returns. So this is referring to the return. And all a sudden he's talking about this veil that's over a covering that's over all nations is going to be removed. Wait a minute. I thought it was just an empty expan. How do you remove emptiness? How do you remove nothing? I don't know. How does nothing roll back like a scroll? How does nothing shake and stars fall from it? Y'all understand? Professing themselves to be wise. They become fools. You just accept the word of God. It makes sense, right? And this is, think about this. This is a lot of explanation from the Lord about you can just go through verse after verse after verse. A veil here, a pouring over, a fusion of metal, a cast image, a molten image. So this word means a cast image, a molten image. Oh, what does that sound like? The sky is strong like a molten looking glass. Y'all see it? And massacre sounds like massacre. Massa, we're massacring. They were massacring the heliocentric version of the universe. But there's a veil over. And look, isn't it interesting that Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 13, for now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face. When is when do we see Jesus face to face? When he breaks open that glass veil, the barrier between us, every eye will see him. And it's not on CNN. Every eye will see him when this veil is removed. The veil that's over all the nations. And see, I believe God constructed this the way the stars are, the way the the dark clouds, the nebula are, and how the the ether is thick. This and it's I don't think it's fully understood by mankind. And so, we don't know how light moves through it. And therefore, God said, I will put a stumbling block
before them. If they want to choose to not believe in me, in me and my words, I'm going to make it possible. I'm going to give them what they want, their scenario. I'm going to give them their quail till they vomited out of their noses, right? But this veil ma is going to be what? And I just love this molten image, something cast. It's beautiful.
