it and come join us if you can all right everybody got their Bibles out let's go to Second Timothy chapter 3 we start there um I've entitled this today the dwelling of the wise we're going to do part three of wisdom here I I don't know this may be it may not only the Lord knows um but there were several things that just wouldn't leave my mind and then one particular verse I'm going to read uh but we're going to start here in 2 Timothy 3 now this is a passage I've read many many many times and we're going to start at verse 12 and read through verse 17 and he says yay and all that will live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer per persecution but evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse deceiving and being deceived but then Paul tells timy but you continue in the things which thou Hast learned and been assured of knowing of whom thou Hast learned them and that from a child thou H has known the holy scriptures which are able to make thee wise unto salvation somebody say Wise Wise unto salvation what's the flip side of that coin foolishness unto damnation right see you're either going to be wise or foolish there is no in between here that's called lukewarmness and that's foolishness but let's just keep reading he says from a child you have known the holy scriptures which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for Doctrine for Repro for correction for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished unto all good works basically saying that the scriptures are going to give you the wisdom and they're going to give you the power and the ability to do this that and that God has furnished you with everything you need to live a holy righteous obedient life so everything's furnished there but I remember you know when this popped in my head and it's been in my mind all week really about being wise unto Salvation And if you don't it it's not just about staying in the word of God and reading and studying but it's also about your attitude toward the word of God this is why he adds in there that all scriptures given by inspiration of God and he says you've known the scriptures since you were a child so he's talking about that foundation and then he says too about you know who you learned from Paul was saying you've been established by a me he said an apostle
in sound Doctrine he said you've known these scriptures since you were a child and then he says what he says continue in that and also watch that attitude don't ever ever take the attitude well I know the Bible says but you always take the attitude that this word right here the scriptures that God has given us is above everything else and your attitude is that it is God breath that God moved upon holy men and they wrote exactly not paraphrasing not their own thoughts not their own ideas not their own beliefs but they wrote exactly what the Holy Spirit God Almighty the Creator moved on them and if you lose that attitude if you lose that understanding if you lose that belief then you have become a fool you understand that's where your fall starts these people that say well Joshua just didn't know what we know today Moses just didn't know that the Earth's really a a sphere they didn't really know what they were talking about when they said it was like a tent or that God pressed it down flat with a seal and multiple verses that say the same thing you see here's the thing about this and this is something I'm just going to tell you the attitude we take toward the word of God what we believe about the scriptures how we approach them is going to really determine whether God gives us wisdom or we become a fool see that's why we are seeing so many dead churches that's why there's so many lukewarm Christians that's why we have you you wonder why you run into a Christian and and in a in a little while you're not getting along with them because they're not on the same page with you they think well you know the Bible yeah it's got some good stories in it and it tells us about Jesus but maybe it's not all necessarily true maybe some of it's myths made up by man if that is a thought in your heart and you are letting that thought become a seed that's planted and growing you are becoming a fool see even if you're wise in this world if you think you're wise in this world the Bible says you should become a fool and I tell you right now I become a fool for Christ I don't care how many people out there say I'm a fool for
believing what the Bible says about creation or about the gifts of the holy spirit or about repentance or about hell I don't care what they say what does he say what did Paul say in Romans by the holy spirit let God be true and every man a liar and with this creation stuff it comes down to you believe God's word you believe NASA you believe God's word or you believe the TV set you believe God's word or you believe the your high school textbooks or your college textbooks oh wait a minute those are books written by men too H that you've never met see it all comes down you have faith in something right my faith is not in the the guy swimming around in the pool with a space suit on it's not that's where not where my faith is I'm sorry the scriptures Our Truth Jesus said what would he say in and put this up John 17 well let's just turn there real quick in John 17 the Gospel of John I love this when he's praying here now I'm trying to remember which verse it's in ah here we go 17:17 where the Lord is praying for his people and not only for his disciples there but to all that would believe Hereafter he said sanctify them through thy W thy truth Thy word is truth sanctify them make them holy make them different I'm different than in the world system y'all and I don't care I saw a funny uh a funny video about you know I am Generation X right they said something about Generation X Generation Z's terrified to Generation X you know why cuz we don't care and we were raised by wolves so you better look out right our parents were not around and we are the ones that survived so and we don't care we care about the truth we we've been around long enough to to see a bunch of lies from the church World from the
media World from the government World from the scientific world I mean these same people telling you again that there's billions of light years away and all this stuff those are the people that told you you know something was safe effective keep believing them keep putting your faith in them and I'm going to tell you where you're going to end up in the in the trash being of foolishness and then of course if you don't repent and get wise under salvation you're going to end up in Hell see this world system they lie just about everything and then they'll you know the Lord will make them tell the truth and then people still don't want to believe it even when they admit it I could preach on that a while well he says the scriptures make us wise right the scriptures are the truth the scriptures are going to sanctify us the scriptures are going to do that why what is what is Hebrews put up Hebrews 4:12 for me everybody all know this but I'm going somewhere with this today this is just an introduction the word of God is what somebody say quick which means the Old English word means alive somebody say alive alive and Powerful the word of God why is the word of God like that because the anointing of the holy spirit is upon this word y'all understand that the anointing and power of the holy spirit's on this word and that's why God has chosen the foolishness of preaching to save those he's chosen the Declaration of his word his truth is what he uses as the two-edged sword to pierce the hearts and it is foolishness like I said last week or the week before I can't remember it's it's it's it's a strange thing but here what I'm saying right here let's go to a few verses now we're going to go through these quick you guys so go to Proverbs we're going to read a few because this is the problem in the church world people are not wise because they do not fear God and they don't fear God enough to to depart from Evil and it's as simple as that let's read it it says verse uh Proverbs 9:10 we're going to read that first because we're going to interweave this all inter interweave together the fear of the Lord
wisdom and the wisdom that will save you and he says here the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding I know I read that last week or the week before but this is an important verse you need to again it is the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom Proverbs 3:7 he says be not wise in thine own eyes fear the lord and depart from Evil now what do you think he's talking about there what he saying is nobody cares about your opinions nobody cares about your your your self-made theology justifications excuses I mean this is where we get we end up with false doctrines like once you're saved you're always saved no matter how you live we you end up with that stuff because people are being coming up with their own using their own wisdom and he says that's why he says be not wise in your own eyes it's real simple fear the lord and depart from Evil everybody see that you know I had a good fear of my dad when I was a little boy and I remember when he told me it was real close C do not bring home a sea okay now I had some choices to make because I like to Goof Off in school but was the goofing off in school worth what was going to happen if I brought home a sea and I promise you you didn't want to come home to my dad with a sea all right now I say that to say this and this is true I know my Dad loved me but I also had a healthy fear of my dad and I will say this probably he you know he went a little too far sometimes but I understand that you that's the respect we we're supposed to have for God that he means what he says the punishment that he says will come if we do something that he says not he it's going to come right but I know he loves me and he wants me to make it and he's merciful and
patient when hearts are in the right place when he and he knows if your heart's in the right place this is why he says be not wise in th own I stop making excuses for your sin for your Rebellion for your own theology he says it's simple fear the lord and depart from Evil now let's go to Proverbs 15:33 and you'll see how this is interwoven together wisdom and the fear of the Lord he says here Proverbs 15:33 the fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom and before honor is humility the fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom again it's the other verse it's the beginning of wisdom it's the instruction how many people I know how mean look there's entire denominations that have been taught against the fear of God they've even changed the definition of the word fear so they could teach a different do Doctrine about it well what do you think they've done to their entire congregations they have dumbed them down and made them fools and that's why they run around thinking Oh Daddy God loves me and I do whatever I want no you SPO brat you've deceived yourself you're wise in your own eyes you don't fear the lord because if you did you would depart from Evil it's pretty simple isn't it it's Amen or oh me amen Proverbs 88:13 here here hear this right here somebody better hear this the fear of the Lord is to hate evil can we stop there for a second the fear of the Lord is to hate evil now I don't know about y'all but I hate snakes especially the poisonous kind that'll kill you water moccasins rattlesnakes Timber Rattlers you know Coop copperheads all those that stuff you know black mambas thank God we don't have those in the United States right but here here's the thing I hate them and I know they're dangerous so guess what I don't do I don't play with them I keep my distance and then if I have to I kill
them so they won't end up hurting somebody else right the Lord says to hate evil but it's not your definition of evil it's his definition of evil God says it's evil if you're a single person and you're not married to go have sex with somebody else that's called fornication that's called sexual immorality now the world says that's fine in fact you should live together and get to know each other before you get married really got to test drive the car right ain't that what to say that's called worldly wisdom makes no sense to do it God's way to wait on him to let him lead you to stay pure until he brings you your wife or your husband oh no that's that's we can't do that God knows how we are we're just Animals full of lust but you get what I'm saying God says homosexuality is evil an abomination to him it ain't being gay it's evil but let me just go and tell you something else Christians lying is evil sowing Strife between Brethren is evil you understand what God says is evil is evil and you should hate it not hate people that are in that or overtaken by it we don't hate people but we should hate evil and this is what you know if you go to Hebrews 1 and then Psalm 45 it says this it's speaking about Jesus it said God anointed him with the oil of gladness the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit above his fellows why because he loved righteousness and hated iniquity and if you want to have wisdom and you want to have the Holy Spirit upon on your life the anointing of the Holy Spirit then you better hate evil hate iniquity Injustice and hate all of that stuff that the world system says it's okay see I hate it why should we hate it because if we love people we should hate what destroys them I hate seeing someone addicted to drugs I hate seeing someone addicted to alcohol I hate seeing someone who won't come out of sexual sin I hate seeing someone that won't come out of their their evil and darkness because I know it's going to bring depression and destruction in their lives so I should hate that if I love
them I should hate it I see what Christians say is oh that cute little Ratt snake we just GNA cuddle up with it it's going to be sweet to me I saw one of those fools those stupid churches that handles snakes get bitten on the face by one of those rattlesnakes and died that's called being a fool right but again if he knew the word of God he would know God's not talking about playing with real snakes but again do you hate sin I mean hate it and I can tell you this if you hate it enough you'll quit doing it you'll quit wanting to do it and if you do something if you stumble and fall do something you shouldn't do that you know is evil you will feel horrible about it and hate it if your heart's in the right place if your heart's not in the right place what what are you going to do you're going to create your own wisdom about it you're going to be wise in your own you're going to start figuring out a Doctrine or an idea that makes you feel better to try to push away the conviction of the holy spirit because that's uncomfortable see this is why our church will never be huge we'll never be a mega never ever because people that want to cling to and not hate sin can't stand to sit in a church where the holy spirit is moving and saying you got to get out of it God loves you but you got to admit it and quit it confess it and forsake it get serious with God this is what wisdom is all about if you have the wisdom of God you will hate evil and then he says this you will hate evil and pride and arrogancy and the evil way and the frow word mouth he says you will hate now frow word is interesting I I think I sent you guys the definition frow word means perverse and deceit it means fraud I sent y'all stuff I don't know if y'all got it or not but but think about that pride and arrogancy the evil way the froward mouth do I hate so the Lord says I hate it and he wants us to what hate it we can go on let's go to Proverbs 166 this is one of my favorite verses in
Proverbs there it is that's the word the definition for frow word perversity foolishness deceit fraud perverse things perverse thing boy and do we live in a perverse world don't we but Proverbs 166 everybody there trying to slow down this week I went too fast last time he says by Mercy and Truth iniquity is purged and by the fear of the Lord men depart from Evil you see that mercy and truth that's how it's purged from us sin is purged but he says this if you have the fear of the Lord you what depart from evil see again what the world thinks oh it's terrible to have fear of God in your life shouldn't have fear okay there's some fear that's good it's like I'm not stepping over into a cage with a lion that hasn't eaten in a couple of weeks kind of scared of that might get eaten right when I get close I'm up on a very tall building and I get close to the edge I get a little fearful what that fear is a good fear is to keep me from Fall being stupid and falling not like these idiots that climb all this stuff and end up dying right but there's fear that's good I'm not going to go sit in the road out here and wait till someone comes by that's not paying attention to run me over so somebody say there's good fear good fear and bad fear bad fear the fear of God to respect him and to respect him enough to depart from Evil to hate evil to hate sin and depart from sin that's always a good thing right this is what he's talking about when he's saying what the wisdom that leads to Salvation and the reason I preach this and the reason I talk about this is because it is almost completely non-existent in the church world and I hear from people all the time from all kind of different backgrounds now let's put this verse
up this is one of the verses that really stood out and we're going to we're going to spend a few moments on this but Proverbs 21 20 and this is why I called this today the dwelling of the wise the dwelling of the wise from this scripture right here he says there is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise but a foolish man there's more than enough there's again the blessing of God he says there's treasure to be desired and then when he says that there's meaning that we should never be satisfied with what we have but I'm going to get to this and he says and oil oil represents what the Holy Spirit now this word desire I think I sent that to you guys it means to covet to long for to Lust For right they'll put that up in a second right here Brown driver Briggs I just pulled up one but they all say the same things but it it it literally means to desire to take pleasure in what are what in the New Testament were we told to desire to long for the gifts of the holy spirit right now think about this we have churches that say the gifts of the holy spirit don't happen anymore don't even go down that road that's of the devil you speak in tongues that's of the devil I mean that's how bad it is right when God says the very opposite what long for desire these things in fact uh put up First Corinthians 12 just so we can see this real quick because we're going to talk talk about this he says now concerning spiritual gifts Brethren I would not have you ignorant most the church is ignorant of this he says you know that you were Gentiles carried away unto these dumb Idols even as you were LED and he says wherefore I give you to understand that no man speaking by the spirit of God calleth Jesus a curse and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord but by the Holy Ghost he says now there are div diversities of gifts but the Same Spirit let's keep reading and there are differences of administrations but the same lord and there are diversities of operations but it is the same God which worketh all in all he says but the manifestation of the spirit is given to every man now when he says every man here he's not talking about every person in the world he's talking about every true born again
Christian who is fearing the Lord and departing from evil it's God's will to bring the manifestation what is the manifestation mean it means apparent it means the the uh how do I put it it's obvious that this is working through you okay that's when Theo the gifts of the Spirit work okay now he says but the manifestation of the spirit is given to every man to profit with all let's keep going for to one is given by the spirit what does he start with what's the first gift mentioned a Word of Wisdom now let's just stop right there for a second the word of wisdom and then he says to another the word of knowledge notice that that there's the word of wisdom and the word of knowledge they're two different things and I'm going to give you a definition of what I've learned in it to be over the years and I'll prove this by the scriptures we we'll we'll go to another passage but the word of wisdom the gifts of the Spirit these nine gifts we could read them all but these nine gifts are to manifest meaning they're to come upon you they're to work through you and to be evident to everyone that you're operating in this I call these supernal bursts of power that will come upon you and boom it just operates now when he starts out with the word of wisdom let me tell you what the word of wisdom is it's when God gives a supernatural Revelation about his will for either the present or the future see knowing God's will is wisdom knowing what he wants you to do knowing what he wants you to do in the future that is wisdom and that's why this gift is so necessary in the church World I'll give you an example of how it worked one Skyfall I'm praying over some people a couple they're ministers and I'm praying over them and as I laid hands on them I saw a vision of them well actually I didn't see them but I saw the vision of a traditional like Baptist Methodist Church like an old one but traditional the pews the whole thing and the Holy Spirit gave me the word of wisdom and the Lord told me to tell them that you're going to be going into traditional denominational churches to minister they were Pentecostal Full Gospel people but that the doors are going to be opening for them and they were going to be going into these type
of churches well when I got finished I mean they were just tears running down their face and they said these doors are already beginning to open to us and so the Lord was showing me what he was doing presently and what he was going to do for them in the future that is a Word of Wisdom knowing the will of God now a word of knowledge is when you know something Supernatural about maybe what's going on right now or the past that you have no ability to know anything about like the Lord has had me at times I've walked up to people and he shown me things about their past guy I worked with one day I the Lord showed me he said he he his father left him when he was a young boy and he's been broken and messed up from that ever since that's a word of knowledge and I started talking to him about those things at on on the job site and I could give many examples of this but these gifts these are going to flow need to hear me where is the oil in the dwelling of the wise I shared this about the the the 10 virgins remember the 10 virgins five wise five foolish the foolish what ran out of oil meaning they had some but they ran out of it meaning at the time when Jesus came they were not ready and there was no oil in their house because they were foolish and that's why he says right here let's read the verse again there is treasur to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise but a foolish man and even Nancy and I have talked about it she it's one of the scariest parables in the Bible it really is because they fully thought that when Jesus came they were going with him how many of these people out here are in these churches are convinced oh we're ready for the r we're
Rapture Ready they got that wrong too but they're Rapture Ready and they don't even know that the oils run out there's no oil they don't even know they're foolish they think they're wise quite and see that's the deception deception means you were made to think something that's not true but the Lord begin to show me he's like the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit only going to be in the house of the wise so think about this you got anybody you got these like okay Mike Bickle and some of these that have been busted for living in sin as a Christian leader let me just tell you like Mike ble 340 Years of Living in fornication adultery sexual immorality while he's preaching and teaching and and being this Christian leader let me tell you every Supernatural manifestation that happened was the devil it was counterfeit because the the anointing of the Holy Spirit does not dwell in the house of the fool that's why they all the ones that depart from the scriptures from the truth and don't live holy lives that's why they always end up with the counterfeit demonic spirits like Todd Bentley constant sexual sin in his life committing adultery during a Revival committing adultery but see here's how here's how these things keep going like like the Lakeland Revival in 2008 it confused a lot of people because Roy Fields whom I know he was leading worship I didn't know well I didn't know Roy at the time and I didn't know Todd Bentley I'd never seen him before but when Roy would lead worship the anointing of the Holy Spirit would be all over him we did one of his songs this morning and I would feel the anoint I would just sit there and watch the HIM lead worship and tears run down my face because the anointing of the Holy Spirit was so strong on that and then this Todd Bentley guy would get up there and and the the Holy Spirit would go nope now I didn't know he was committing adultery at the time and then of course when I dug into him guess what he was into visualization astral projection all every counterfeit manifestation Supernatural manifestation you can get into he was into it I wrote about it in polluted Church in detail in that book and then I remember talking to Roy about it I said Roy what were you doing with that fool he said man I didn't know him he said I got invited by the pastors of the
church that I knew that were involved in the Revival he said that's they asked me to come lead worship I didn't know Todd Bley at all but see this is how they keep these Ministries going they hook up with people who have the anointing to ride their coattails see I had a Saul years ago I won't tell his name he was a pastor but he was a Saul he had lost the anointing and evil spirit worked through him but just like David the Lord sent me there as a young man with the anointing and he tried to ride off of my anointing to build his church he was just using me cuz he didn't have it and when the Lord showed me and told me he said he's just riding your coattails you need to go when I left the Lord sent me back there with a word about the thing crumbling and it all crumbled cu the Lord had had enough of him riding on people's coattails but these is what these people do see remember when David was anointed by Samuel says the spirit of God Came Upon him that day and what left Saul and then when Saul dies for his transgression against the Lord what did David say about him it was as though he had never been anointed let me ask you a question this is something I thought about today do you know that you're anointed no I'm not talking about just mentally oh I'm a Christian I'm filled with the Holy Spirit speaking tongues so I'm anointed ah not necessarily because the anointing comes upon you to move in the Supernatural if sometimes it's just in private time in prayer sometimes it's in worship sometimes it's when you obey and step out and talk to somebody about Jesus but do you feel the anointing of the Holy Spirit come upon you if you don't you best get to repenting see I go through Dry times and difficult times and we all going to go through those times we have to walk by faith and not by sight or any feelings but if I don't feel the anointing sometimes when I'm preaching I get a little concerned now you don't have to feel it sometimes the preacher doesn't feel the
anointing and the holy spirit's hitting everybody in the place and you just don't know because the Lord has to make us walk by faith sometimes but like last week and even now last week was even stronger I could feel the anointing of the Holy Spirit the whole time and that just I just thank God every because I pray for the anointing and it's the anointing of the holy spirit that makes what you do for him effectual it makes what you do for him consequential it it pierces through Satan's power his smoke screens the blindness he puts on people that's what penetrates through and you have to long for it you have to desire it you have to ask God and seek God to have the anointing do you do that do you say Lord fill me anoint me again I need the anointing of the Holy Spirit see a lot of people we they hadn't even taken the first step and asked for the baptism of the Holy Spirit that's the first step now if you ashamed of the baptism of the Holy Spirit evidence of speaking in other tongues because you've been taught nonsense in a denomination you better get rid of that attitude and believe the word of God and not your denomination period because you can't read the Bible the gospels and the book of Acts and the Book of Corinthians 1 and second you can't read that and come away going there's no such thing as tongues unknown tongues Supernatural tongues interpretation of tongues Pro you can't go it didn't operate in the church and then when you really look at church history John Wesley said it he was a student of church history he went to Oxford he had the whole church history before he said the gifts of the holy spirit never ended in the church all those centuries leading up to now I'm going to tell you right now the greatest fools you should not listen to is anybody who says that the baptism of the holy spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues is not for today or it's demonic you need to run from that person because they do not know this they do not respect this and they do not fear the lord period say Pastor Dean that's just hard preaching man wake up Acts chapter 2 they were all filled with the Holy Spirit began to speak with other tongues the spirit gave them utterance Acts 19 very clear Paul laid hands on 12 disciples in Ephesus and said they all spoke with tongues Holy Spirit came upon them they all spoke with tongues and prophesy Peter goes to preach to the house of corneus the first message to the Gentiles Acts chapter 10 and it says before he was even finished preaching the Holy Spirit fell on them and what he said they were baptized just
like we were for they heard them what speak with tongues then Paul says I would to God that all of you speak with tongues I speak with tongues more than all of you he says if a man speaks in an unknown tongue he edifies himself he said when you speak in tongues pray that you may interpret this is what the Bible says but we got people say ah no not for today I'm saying you're on one side of the other because this book teaches it clear and then after it happened in Acts two it says this real clearly it says this promise is unto you and to your children and to all those that are a far off and then Jesus said these signs shall follow them that believe he said in my name they will cast out Devils they will speak with new tongues neverbe known that don't exist Paul said you will speak with unknown tongues you will speak Mysteries he said you'll speak in tongues that no man understands so it's not just a known language for missionary work I've heard that excuse and how many times have people done that said that I'm I mean I've done it I scared an Arab taxi driver to death I don't know what I said to him but he he got on the ball and wanted us out of his car soon as he could do it I'm just having fun today I don't know about y'all it's not even 12 yet so I can't let y'all go Ephesians five go there please are you filled with the Holy Spirit do the gifts of the holy spirit work in you do you feel the anointing upon your life when you pray when you witness if not I would question whether you're becoming wise or you're becoming a fool cuz you're becoming one of the other Ephesians 5:17 through 21 now this this verse is so amazing because everything I just said to you everything I just preached to you for the last 50 minutes or so is all contained in this one passage right here listen to what he says here in in fact well let's back up to verse 16 no 15 no 14 all right let's start right there 14 he says wherefore he saith awake thou that sleepest and arise from the dead and Christ shall give thee light see then that you walk circumspectly not as fools but what as
wise tells you don't walk like fools walk like wise people then he says Redeeming the time because the days are evil so don't be wasting time wherefore be not unwise but understanding what the will of the Lord is let's pause right there for be not unwise but understanding what the will of the Lord is so if you don't understand what the will of God is from the scriptures and from hearing his voice and knowing him for your life then you're a fool I'm sorry say Pastor Dean you hurt me today you're hurting me I promise you it's in love it's like when General Patton slapped that Soldier and saved his life delivered him from Fear the man was terrified and he slapped him was be a man sometimes you need a good slap across the face spiritually speaking I think everybody in here can witness I have not struck anyone in here yes I said Pastor Troy said yet behave and you in the front row too so behave that's what we always say well just act right then yep right let's keep he said be wherefore be not unwise but understanding with the will of the Lord is so the Lord wants you to know his will he wants you to be filled with the knowledge of his will amen and like I've said before there's nowhere in the Bible it says Dean go back from DC Washington DC go to opik and start a church so I had to hear what the holy spirit is saying I had to know I had to have the witness of the spirit upon what he told me to do and I can't stress this enough I preach this all the time but it really comes down to it's not wise to not know say well past I don't know well then you better get to seeking God you better get to fasting you better get to in the word you better get to a place where you are filled with the Holy Spirit and hear his voice and know his will for your life husbands you better know God's will for your family no excuse you're supposed to be the leader you better know what God wants you you to do where he wants you to go to church where he wants you to work where he wants you to live you better know and you and your wife your wife should be hearing from the Lord too and you should be a team not always going to agree that's why there's a leader but I can't tell you how many times I don't have to I I have a wife that wants to do God's will no matter what it is and we both pray for God's will to be revealed to us and so when there's a step to take
99 times out of 100 we agree we already know we both know from the Lord do you know what the will of God is for your life see right now I know it's to run for lieutenant governor of Alabama do I want to do that no it'd be much easier just sticking to pastoring I know that job it'd be much easier to just go play golf you understand but I know the will of God for me God spoke to me about it for the last two years this is what you're going to do I tried talk him out of it for two years but no he didn't change his mind but see even though sometimes God's will is difficult I going to tell you right now the best place to be safest place to be the most joyful place to be is when you know you're in God's Will and don't get impatient when he puts you somewhere when he do he's doing something if he's not telling you something else then guess what keep doing what he already showed you to do and just keep doing it be this is where this thing about being faithful comes in don't start getting sketchy flaky right see God say me I can't believe it's been 16 years doing this church this is a longest out of all my years of walking with the Lord that I've been in one place doing the same Ministry but that's okay it's good it shows what faithfulness stability knowing the will of God and doing that amen and because we have known the will of God since Nancy and I got married in 2008 we have known the will of God and we have obeyed and done it stepped out in faith to do it thousands upon thousands upon thousands of people have heard the truth from Genesis to Revelation that they would have never heard and I hear it all time Pastor Dean we can't find a preacher like you that tells the truth about all this stuff I wish there were thousands of preachers telling the truth
about the whole thing but there's not anymore wherefore be not unwise but understanding what the will of the Lord is and verse 18 and be not drunk with wine wherein is excess but be what filled with the spirit notice in the context of talking about being wise understanding the will of God what does he say be filled with the Holy Spirit and this is to a church to the Ephesus that was already baptized in the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues operating in the gift he was saying you need to in the word filled here is a present tense Greek verb which means ongoing continuous taking place in the present so what he was saying is you need to keep being filled with the spirit never ever stop seeking for more and more and more of the holy spirit in your life which means if you're going to make more room for him there's going to be less room for me right what what did John the Baptist say he said I must what decrease so he can increase having the anointing of the Holy Spirit more and more yourself be gets buried what what self wants because that really has to die so you can do what God wants this is why Paul said I Die daily Paul was a very smart man he could have done anything very educated man Roman citizen all of that stuff he could have been one of the great philosophers but he said what Saul's gone Saul of Tarsus was so gone that he changed his name to Paul you know what Saul means Destroyer Paul means little one he knew what he was that's why he said I'm not even worthy to be called an apostle cuz I persecuted the Church of God persecuted Christians he said but God had mercy upon me and he was always saying pray for me that I might have what unction what is unction that's another word for the anointing power of the spirit I need the power of the spirit on me to do what I need to do and and Paul was constantly dying to
self how many times could Paul just have walked away and retired but even as he got older I appealed to Caesar and that whole journey that led him to Rome to testify in Caesar's household to lead Caesar's household to Jesus wherefore be not unwise but understanding what the will of the Lord is be not drunk with wine where is an excess but be filled with the spirit speaking to yourselves in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord so worship giving thanks always for all things unto God and the father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ prayer and then he says this submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God wisdom three things we looked at today wisdom being filled with the Holy Spirit the will of God and the fear of God Amen four things that's it and this is simple I look back at my life now 30 almost 38 years of doing this following the Lord seriously and I all all my life has been is a series of Lord what is your will what's next and if it was wait I waited if it's it's time to do this then guess what it's time to go do this I mean I've had the Lord at times tell me oh you you you owe this person $500 you never paid them back go pay him back I mean sometimes years after the fact make it right it's all about being led by the spirit and that's how you stay filled that's how you stay anointed OED and that's how you keep that old man buried don't let him come up you don't want that zombie coming back you keep the old man buried by what living for Jesus living and walking in true faith and let's go back to to um 1 Corinthians 12 real quick to the gifts I want to read all the gifts just so we make sure we cover it before we go and it's 10 after so
y'all y'all are not quite Baptist anymore all right he says now concerning spiritual gifts Brethren I would not have you ignorant let's go on down to where we already read this go on down to what is it verse keep going yeah right here for to one is given by the spirit the word of wisdom to another the word of knowledge by The Same Spirit to another Faith by The Same Spirit to another Gifts of healing by The Same Spirit to another the working of Miracles to another prophecy to another Discerning of spirits to another diverse kinds of tongues to another the interpretation of tongues but all these worketh that one and the selfs Same Spirit dividing to every man severly as he will somebody say dividing to every man div to every severly S as he Wills meaning more than one gift should work in your life now as a pastor as a five-fold minister at one point or another I have operated in all nine of these gifts of the holy spirit over the years and I don't control them the only one we can have partial control with is that we can choose to use the gift of tongues in prayer um or we can choose this this is where the gift is subject to the prophet but you can choose to either give a a message in tongues in church or not to right but the other gifts of the holy spirit I have no control over I have people all the time I need you to give me a word Pastor Dean H it doesn't work that way I can ask for one but I don't know if I'm going to get it or not because I don't control it come on but I do know over the years I've seen things happen a little more frequently if I touch you sometimes when I touch you lay hands on you it's like it the holy spirit will move like that I don't have to because sometimes he just gives it to me without that but it's just I don't know I've seen more frequent when I'm praying for people at an altar more more of a flow of the gifts of the holy spirit but see even with that I go through some dry times and I just pray Lord uh I don't want the oil to dry up I don't want to run out of oil I'm terrified of running out of oil but I know I got to fear God depart from Evil seek God for his will and do it and pray and cry out for the anointing to be filled even if I already am baptized in the Holy Spirit and speak in other tongues I you can still give get bone dead dry you have to ask Lord anoint me I want the anointing when I
talk to people I want the power of the Holy Spirit upon me I want to make a difference in somebody's life and I know I can't do it with my own wisdom I can't do it with just words I've got to have your words that are powerful that are anointed amen amen well I hope you I hope your life your home I hope you are the the dwelling of the wise cuz the dwelling of the wise has oil the fool does not amen let's stand we pray I want to do the spirit of The Sovereign Lord again before we go now once again let me reiterate as I have to do every time I talk about this I'm not saying that you have to speak in tongues to be saved salvation is the first thing that comes and the Holy Spirit does come in you to bring about regeneration but you do not stop there you understand man this is a walk it's a journey it's going deeper and deeper never being satisfied with where you are in the sense of I want the Holy Spirit working and moving through me I you got to hunger and thirst what those who hunger and thirst are filled those who ask you have not because you ask not you have to ask I ask specifically for Stuff Lord let the word of knowledge work through me let the word of wisdom work through me amen let's pray and we're going to do this song before we go father thank you for truth I sense your anointing here today your wisdom Lord we want to be filled with the knowledge of your will for our lives we want to be holy and obedient we want to have the fear of the Lord and also understand that you love us and you're merciful and good to us Lord and you only have uh good things in mind for us you just want us to obey and Lord I pray that like Solomon will come to the full after all of the things that he experienced and learned he said that the last thing the the basic thing was to fear fear the lord and keep his commandments so Lord help us to do that to not self deceive I pray you give us your grace your wisdom in Jesus name and Lord your
