The Day of the Lord's Wrath & the Pre-Tribulation Rapture Myth
About this sermon
In “The Day of the Lord's Wrath & the Pre-Tribulation Rapture Myth,” Pastor Dean Odle presents a Scripture-centered message about the authority of Scripture, divine judgment, faith. Drawing especially from John 17, John 8, Matthew 24, Luke 21, the teaching emphasizes that Scripture is presented as the standard for doctrine, discernment, and daily obedience. Odle connects that foundation with the conviction that God’s judgment is treated as righteous, certain, and a reason to repent while mercy is offered.

And good morning everyone. You're listening to a special edition of Prophecy Quake this morning. We are not having our normal Fire and Grace Church service this morning due to some unforeseen circumstances that we won't get into, but uh decided to go ahead and uh do the broadcast this morning and get into the word because there is a lot going on. So, again, we welcome you to this uh December 21st edition of Prophecy Quake Fire and Grace Church service. I'm your host, Pastor Dean Odle. Uh we're going to dig in the word a little bit this morning, talk about some different things um that uh I've been studying and that the Lord's been revealing. Um cuz we do have a number of people. Uh I don't even know. It varies who listen on Sunday morning. And then, of course, those who uh wanted to make it to church this morning can listen in as well. So, we're going to get into the word. Let's pray this morning and we're going to get just directly into the word of God and what's going on and some things that uh uh the Lord has been uh dealing with me about preaching and teaching on. So, let's pray for a moment. Father in heaven, we thank you for this day. We thank you for your mercies, Lord. We all need your mercies, your forgiveness that can be found through the blood of Jesus Christ. We thank you for the word that you've given us, your Bible, that's true, anointed, that's real. Uh Lord, it's so specific and accurate. Lord, I thank you, God, for everything that's in it, Lord. You said, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." Lord, you said that Lord, heaven and earth would pass away, but your words would not pass away, that you would fulfill every jot and tittle, every every comma, every dot, every part of the word you promised to fulfill. Lord, I ask you, Lord, you just to give us grace this morning. Give me grace and the anointing uh Lord to be led by the Holy Spirit as we delve into these uh scriptures and what's going on in the world right now. Lord, I ask you to equip my brothers and sisters with your word, your truth. Father, we thank you for it and we pray for it in Jesus name. Amen. Uh just you know, before we really get into the meat of the subject this morning, I just want to say this very clearly to everyone out there and I hope that this is um you know, very very clear. Um we have, you know, as a pastor as a minister of the gospel now, you know, 20 7 28 years and I can even go back into when I was younger being a Christian. So, we're talking about 30 years plus. I'm I'm not a novice in this and I understand the Bible talks about that we will be persecuted. Uh we will be reproached and those things. But, this has just been stirring me in the past few days because uh I you know, it's funny because I watch, you know, I

I'll go on to our ministry pages on Facebook and our website and it's just amazing the ups and downs and uh the emails I get one minute from from one person that just, you know, loves the ministry and what we're doing and then, you know, a few days later the same person doesn't like us anymore and they're gone. Uh we have a kind of a revolving door situation that goes on. But, the Lord, you know, I was thinking about that one day and I don't let it bother me that much because one thing I I've said before is that, you know, I sometimes don't even like myself. And in saying that, I want to be clear that, you know, uh all of us need to have a reality check and and realize that, you know, we all have preachers and pastors and teachers and uh ministers or whoever, people that we look at as, you know, spiritually mature or elders or our leaders and all that's fine and dandy, but just remember this and I and and this goes for me and I'm saying this for me this morning. There's no such thing as a perfect messenger. Um I I think that's what what bothers me the most is when I see Christians rejecting the truth of God's word or the truth of something that's, you know, factual that's going on in the world and um I watch them reject it because they get hung up on the messenger, either a personality issue or, you know, they get hung up on uh you know, they see the person not do something they think they ought to do or teach a particular thing in a particular way. Um just just remember this. There are no perfect messengers and including uh this one behind this microphone this morning, but the message is what is important. The message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the doctrines of Jesus Christ and the doctrines of scripture, um and what's going on with Bible prophecy, what's going on in the world. Um be sure you don't reject the message because you have an issue with a messenger, whether it be their delivery or their style or their personality or you see a flaw in them or a sin in them that they struggle with. Bottom line, there's not a perfect messenger. Uh Paul wasn't perfect. We go back and we look at him. Look at Peter uh denying Jesus. We see, you know, Abraham lying. We see David committing adultery and murder. We see uh men of God who were used as messengers were not perfect. Moses getting angry and breaking the 10 commandment that uh God had written himself in stone for uh Moses. And and we could just go down the line. Uh Samson was the lion. You know, there men of God, messengers of God uh throughout the centuries, throughout millennia. We're talking about thousands and thousands of years.

Uh God used many men and women who are who have flaws, who are imperfect. But what we need to look at more than that is the message. Is it according to the scriptures? Is it true? Is it really happening? Is it historically factual? Um we don't need to reject the message of truth, of God's word, and what he is saying now and doing now, and what he's revealing now. We don't want to miss that because we have an issue uh with the messenger. I know there's a lot of people I talked about it a little bit last week when we were getting into the subject uh when I preached the message or some people would call it teaching, but it's teaching and preaching. I kind of do a mixture of both on hearing God's voice. And you know, I there's a lot of people out there, a lot of Christian people. I'm mainly talking about Christians this morning. A lot of people that reject important truth uh because they disagree with the messenger on one or two points here and there. They won't listen to anything that that person has to say. And it's a shame because I can honestly say that many things that I've learned over the years, I've learned from men and women of God that I didn't agree with on every point. And uh also that I I knew that you know, had different struggles in their lives, and some of them even messed up pretty bad, but it didn't change the truth that they preached and the things that I gleaned and learned from them. I mean, I I learned a lot and gleaned things from Jimmy Swaggart. We know what happened to him. I I gleaned things from Kenneth Hagin. And there were parts where, you know, the prosperity message got off base. But you don't throw out every messenger because even they're off a little bit in an area or maybe they struggle or even they fall. Now God is able to forgive them and raise them up again and use them in a mighty way. I think of David being forgiven and continuing on as king and and doing great things and and being used to write even more Psalms and prophetic words and parts of scripture even after he fell into adultery with Bathsheba and committed murder and God that he repented deeply and God forgave him and God restored him and I think we we sometimes we forget that God is very patient and merciful. Some of us, especially that are strong in preaching uh repentance and holiness and we do have to preach a standard, God's standard, his word of truth about him and about, you know, obedience and doing the will of God and and trying to be separate from the world and live a as holy and obedient life as a Christian. We can't but the bottom line, the truth is is that uh we don't always do it right. Uh Christians don't and neither do uh Christian leaders. So we we always

have to remember there needs to be some mercy and grace. Now I'm not talking about tolerating somebody that seems habitual, you know, some preacher that might be in adultery or be in such gross error that he's leading the sheep astray. That's not what I'm talking about, but I'm just talking about you know, having uh a sense of mercy and patience and understanding with one another really and understanding that God uses uh imperfect people to bring a message of truth to you many times. So just keep that in mind um before you uh reject someone. Uh you know, when it gets to the subject of end time Bible prophecy, I mean, there are ministers that disagree with deeply on the pre-tribulation rapture doctrine. But, I've learned a lot from them. People like Jack Van Impe, people like Hal Lindsey, people like Perry Stone. I've learned a lot from them. I believe things that I needed to know in the scriptures that I needed to learn cuz I didn't reject them just because I disagreed with them. And there's other things, you know, along those lines. I I love uh some things I've learned some things from Irvin Baxter, but I disagree with him deeply about his idea that the Antichrist will not be Islamic and uh that he believes, you know, some things about that I think he believes and from what I've seen and heard, he believes that you have to speak in tongues to be saved. And even though I'm Pentecostal, speaking tongues and we don't I don't believe he's correct about that, but I don't throw out what the things other things that he teaches and and the messages of truth that he's brought. So, um I think in the body of Christ we've missed a lot of things that we needed to learn because we couldn't receive the flaw of or the disagreements some of the disagreements we have with the messengers. Um but, that just was on my heart very strong this morning as we get into the subject because I felt like that we should delve into this little bit more about uh the pre-tribulation rapture doctrine or what I call the pre-tribulation rapture myth um because I saw an advertisement in this last week and I've seen it several times. I've seen it on Facebook posted uh by the History Channel. I was watching uh one show on the History Channel about the search for the lost giant that I find very interesting. And I was watching that and I saw this um this advertisement for a series that's coming on the History Channel. I believe it's December 29th. Um but I don't know if it's 29th or 30th or whatever, something like that. It may be a 2-day thing, but it's a series on the Book of Revelation, the end of days, but uh primarily focusing on a pre-tribulation rapture. Now, I know and most people know that the History Channel and 99.99%
