  1. You are God in heaven [music] and [singing] here am I on earth. [music] So I'll [singing] let my words be few. [music] Jesus, [music and singing] I am so in love with you. And [music] I'll stand it all on you. [singing] [music] Yes, [singing] I'll stand it all on you. [singing and music] and let my words [singing and music] be few. Jesus, [music] I am [singing] so in love with you. [music] The simplest of all love songs I [music] want to bring to you. [music] So I'll [singing] let my words [music] be few. Jesus, I am so [singing and music] in love with you. And I'll [music and singing] stand in all [singing] of you, [music] Jesus. Yes, I'll stand in all [music] [singing] of you. [music] And I let my words be [singing and music] few. Jesus, I am [music and singing] so in love with you. So I'll stand. So I'll [music and singing] stand in all [singing] of you, [music] Jesus. [music] [singing] [music] We're going to do this one again, y'all. [singing] This is a simple song. It's old song. Simple song. But we need to mean this with all of our heart because you know what? If we love the world, the Bible says the love of the father is not in us. And the commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Amen. And the world system and the devil and the darkness all tries to pull us away from that, from that simple thing. So, let's sing this one more time because you know what? You can let your words be few

  3. because this is the main thing. And we're going to keep the main thing the main thing. Let's do this again. You are God in heaven and here am I [singing and music] on earth. [music] So I'll [singing] let my words be [music] few. [music] Jesus, [singing] I am so in love with [singing] you [music] and I'll stand it [music] all [singing] on you. [music] Yes, I'll [singing] stand it all [music] on you. and let my [singing] words [music] be few. Jesus, I [singing and music] am so in love with you. [singing and music] The simplest of all love [music] songs I want to bring to you. [music] So [singing] I'll let my words be [music] few. Jesus, [music and singing] I am so in love with you. [music] And I'll stand in all [music] [singing] of you, Jesus. [singing] Yes, I'll [music] stand in all of you. [singing] [music] And I let my words be with you, [music and singing] Jesus. I am so [singing] in love [music] with you. So I'll stand. So I'll stand [music] on you, [music] [singing] Jesus. I'll [music] stand in all [singing] of you. The [music] more we see the more we love [music] in all of you.

  4. [music] I'll stand in all [music] of you. [singing] [music] And I let my words be [music and singing] Jesus. I am [singing] so in love with you, [music] Jesus. [singing] I am [music] so in love with you. I'm in love. So in [music] love with you, [music and singing] Jesus. I'm in love with you. Know I save you. [singing and music] The more I love you, Lord, I love [music] you. I know I [music] [singing] [music] stand on you. [singing] [music] Stand it all of you. Yes, I'll [singing] stand it all of you. [music] I stand in all of you. [music and singing] [music] I'll [singing] stand in all of you. [singing and music] you and I let my world [singing and music] be few. Jesus, [singing] I am so in love with [music] you. Jesus, [singing] I am so [music] in love with you. [music] [singing] [music] So I love you. [singing] [music] [singing] Glory, glory, glory. [music and singing] We love you, Lord. We praise your mighty name. We exalt the name of Jesus today. We thank you, Jesus. You You are the one and only. You're the savior, the Messiah, the redeemer, the holy one of Israel, the first and the last, God Almighty in the flesh.

  5. You love us, [snorts] and we are grateful that your love took you all the way to the cross to die for our sins. And death could not hold you. You rose from the dead on the third day and you are alive forever more. We give you glory. Thank you Lord. We worship you today. We ask you Lord to stir our hearts Lord to stir our hearts Lord to let us God rekindle the fire the Holy Ghost in our lives Lord like when we were first saved and first filled with the Holy Spirit. Lord, we pray for that rekindling of that fire, Lord, that we can find our first love and do our first works, Lord. Lord, we love you. We exalt you. Praise you this morning. We thank you, Lord, that in every situation, in all the trials that we face, in the dark days, in the difficult days, Lord, we know we can just cling to you and you will get us through. We're grateful for that, Lord. And it's in Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen. You may be seated this morning. Welcome everyone. Fire and Grace Church. Welcome to those watching and listening out there. Uh that song is so good, isn't it? I could I could have done it a third time this morning. Um I think most of you know pray for Johnny and Julie. Julie's sister is in serious condition um in ICU. Um really uh another day she would have been dead. So you need to uh just be praying. Her name is Barbara. So be praying for her. And um and I think y'all know some of the other prayer requests that are just um you know a lot of people don't I I think a lot of people don't know that just how many bad situations are going on out there. Um people going through and I'm talking about Christian folks going through really really difficult trials, painful things. Um, now before we get into the word, I want to I want to read this. I didn't plan on reading this scripture, but it keeps coming back to me. So, let's put this one up first, you guys. 1 Peter 4 and verse 12. We'll read a few verses here from verse 12. Um, but this is what the Holy Spirit inspired Peter to write to Christians who were going through trial after trial after trial and difficulties. And really, I don't think any of us fully understand what it was like to be a Christian in the first

  6. century under the Roman Empire. um and also the crazy Pharisees and Sadducees and that didn't like Christians either. So you had it they had it coming from all sides. And um but let's read what Peter wrote to to uh the Christians. He said, "Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you, but rejoice in so much as you are partakers of Christ's sufferings, that when his glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy. And if you be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye, for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you. But on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer or as a thief or as an evildoer or as a busy body in other men's matters. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God on this behalf. Now, I don't know too many Christians that have got to the point of glorifying God when they're in the midst of suffering and trials and difficulties. And this is one of the things that one of the reasons I had even back when I was a younger guy and I I learned a lot from people like Kenneth Hagen and those in the word of faith movement. They had some truth. But the problem was is they wanted to ignore this part of Christianity. the trials, the difficulties, the suffering. And a lot of what we go through, you guys, the attacks we go through are uh they're spiritual, but they affect us mentally, emotionally, physically, financially. I mean, they can affect us in every way. And those attacks of the enemy are to wear us down, to weaken us, right? to and and ultimately not just to wear us down and weaken us uh but they're to get us to become offended with people around us or offended with God himself that why haven't you answered this prayer? Why or why has this been going on so long in my life? And why does it seem like I pray pray pray and this thing doesn't go away? And [clears throat] I just want you to know, every Christian goes through that. And if they tell you they don't, they're liars. Okay? Because he said, "What? Don't think it's strange. You're going to go through these things. It's not odd. You're not unique, right? It's just like, oh, it's happening to to me and nobody else." And listen,

  7. some of the mental and emotional attacks that I get come from the devil are sometimes overwhelming. It seems, okay? And like I said, even the Bible tells us in the book of Daniel that the spirit of Antichrist in the last days and the Antichrist and the beast system, the whole purpose of that they're going to be trying to what? Wear out the saints. And if you look those words up in the Hebrew, it means mentally and emotionally. So, we are at war with all these dark forces that are waring against our minds. They're waring against our spirit, soul, and body. And it now, of course, it's not just spiritual, but they're using everything. There's electronic warfare. There's all kinds of things going on that we're we're dealing with some things that even the first century Christians didn't have to deal with. Okay, biological attacks. I mean, COVID was biological warfare. I think there's other biological things that's been released on us and there will be more. Okay, we are in warfare, period. Everybody Everybody wants is all up in arms about the the Iran thing. That's that's a that's a skirmish. That's not a war yet, right? But we're in a war. We're in a war for our families, for our souls, for our health, but mainly for our spiritual life. And I'm just going to tell you, I'm g talk to you this this morning about how the thing I found yesterday, because even after going on vacation, and we did have a good vacation, y'all, it was we got some good rest, but we even had some battles there. And I had some and we had some when we got back. And and even yesterday when I said like I'm spending the day getting in the word, praying, getting ready for today, I had to fight through this massive cloud of darkness before um before I got any peace or any breakthrough. But I'm going to share with you how I got some some breakthrough and maybe this will help you because it helped me. Um but let's go to the the PowerPoint here. here. I'm just calling this today rekindle the fire. Okay? Um and it's up to us. It really is. It's up to us to rekindle the fire. And what that means though, and if you think about it, what that means is that there had been a fire, right? So, it's not saying you hadn't had a fire, and it's not saying that your fire's completely gone out. In fact, u I've seen coals last under ashes for weeks. All right? But it can look like there's nothing there. It can look like the fires out.

  8. There won't even be any smoke. There won't even be any smoldering or anything. Okay? But there's still enough there to start a new fire, to rekindle the fire, to get it back blazing like it's supposed to be. Right? I'm gonna do this again. I like my little fire. Now, let's go to this. This verse is the main verse we're going to look at at first here. And this is the one the Holy Spirit would not let me get away from. I kept trying to move on to something else and read something else and I kept coming back to this. kept coming back to my heart again and again. 2 Timothy 1:6, he says, "Wherefore, I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God which is in thee by the putting on of my hands." Now, that is a command to Timothy from Paul via the Holy Spirit. It's a command to him to do something. Say, "Timothy had to do something." Oh, that's weak, y'all. Come on. Say it again. Timothy had to do something. Now, if Timothy had to do something, that means I have to do something. Means you have to do something if you want to rekindle the fire. Right? So, he says, "Stir up this gift." And I'm just going to show you that it means to kindle up, inflame one's mind, your strength, and your zeal. And notice it says here in the Greek, and I'm not even going to try to pronounce this, anadzo po. Uh anyway, it means to re I like that. Reckindle, stir [snorts] up. Uh here's the thes. It means to uh to a new rekindle, resuscitate. I like that. Uh to kindle up, inflame one's mind, strength, or zeal. And uh again, there it is. To somebody say to gain strength. strength. So, you have to stir up something that will help you gain strength. Y'all with me? All right. I'm going somewhere with this. Now, just so you know, he says, "Stir up what? The gift of God." So, he's directly referring to this word charisma, which means an endowment of the Holy Spirit. And it accur if you read right here it says uh grace or gifts denoting extraordinary powers distinguishing certain Christians and enabling them to serve the church the reception of which is due to the power of divine grace operating on their souls by the Holy Spirit. Um this right here I like what it says here in the Strongs the spiritual endowment um miraculous faculty. All right. So, meaning you've been given something. If you're a born again Christian and you've been baptized in the Holy Spirit, you've been given something, a gift, a charisma, a miraculous faculty that is your responsibility to stir up.

  9. You hear me? Your responsibility. And if you neglect the gift of God that's in you, then what happens? All right. What happens? Uhhuh. What that is is quenching the Holy Spirit. See, you quench. Somebody say, "You quench or you stir up." Stir up. It's what you do. You quench or you stir up. Now, some of the crap you do that you shouldn't do pours water on the fire. Y'all hear me? So, what are you doing? You're pouring water on the fire. You stir it up the fire. Which one is it? Now, let me show you. Here's one of the things that if you're going to do this the right way, the first thing you have to do is repent. You have to admit it that you've been a little lukewarm. you've let the devil beat you down and for the most part you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing. So you need to just admit that. Just say, "Lord, you know what? I admit it. I've allowed myself to get cold, to get lukewarm. I've allowed my fire to get down to a smoldering embers instead of a raging inferno. So you got to repent and you got to admit it and quit it. Right? That's what repentance is. Admit it and quit it. Confess it, forsake it. So you say, "Okay, I ask God's forgiveness." That's what he told the church at Ephesus when he said, "Hey, you guys, you don't have your first love. You're not you're not in love with me like you were. You you've drawn back. something's something's water, you know, watered you down, tried to put your fire out, and you've allowed it. Sometimes it's some sin you've allowed to just continue in your life. Maybe it's unforgiveness you had. Maybe you got your little feelings hurt by somebody, probably by me. I mean, it happens, right? I admit it. I hurt people's feelings sometimes. Doesn't mean I don't love you, but I do. But it's going to be real easy when you get into that state [snorts] where the fire is not stirred up to where it needs to be. It's real easy there to get offended with people and you need to beware. I'm going to tell you this what my wife had a dream tonight. I'm not going to name the person, but it's a warning that that somebody who right now you're not offended as far as I know, but you're the the dream was you're going to get offended.

  10. Offenses come. Okay? And the devil really tries to magnify them in your mind. All right? And this is where if you're not doing what I'm about to tell you, if you're not doing this, you're going to be swept away into it. All right? Because yesterday when I realized this, the first thing I did was repented for allowing myself to get into the state I was in cuz I was pretty depressed. And I'm battling some things from my childhood, my past that seem to be getting stirred up right now for some reason. and I'm still dealing with some things. So, I'm, you know, sometimes I'm not a very happy person about certain things. All right? I'm fighting through stuff just like everybody else, trying to deal with it, taking it to the Lord and trying to deal with it and make sure number one that I don't have unforgiveness toward people that hurt me in the past. Because sometimes we can lie to ourselves and we do still have bitterness and unforgiveness in our heart towards somebody that hurt us. And we got to really, really, really examine ourselves and say, "God, show me if I do." And I mean, people that deserve, some of them deserve to go to prison for things they did, right? But you still, you don't have to say what they did's okay, and you don't have to minimize it, but you don't have to have unforgiveness in you. and bitterness in you. All right? And so, you know, I'm going through all this crazy stuff and I realized that I just allowed myself to not pray, to get a little hurt with God about some things because I wanted him to do things differently and help me through this a little better than, you know, I started wanting to give him advice about how to handle it. Right? But don't we all do that? We all get a little upset when the Lord doesn't help us through things the way we would like to be helped through them. So again, you have to repent of all that. You have to examine your heart. Make sure there's no unforgiveness, bitterness, or offense there. And then one of the things that happens to us that that that causes the fire to get a little quenched in our lives is that we whenever we get offended or we are hurt or we're going through a rough time, it seems like we all kind of draw away from spiritual warfare. It's like we get too tired and lazy to do it. I'm just tired of fighting. Well, okay. So, you're going to sit down and the devil's going to just beat on your head. You're just going to let him. And this is what happens. And this is why our thoughts

  11. run away. We We get lazy and we get tired of fighting and we just sit down and we don't bind the demons that are attacking our minds. Cast down the imaginations in the name of Jesus and resist the devil. And so, you know, I deal with probably more curses and hatred coming at me than the average Christian, right? Because I upset people all the time. You should read, you go to the Dodal Europe page and just read the comments under the videos. It's amazing. Some people just, oh, we love you, Pastor D. We love the message. And the other one's like, we can't stand you. You're just a mean bully. I mean, in the on the same message, right? You're just like, how do people go get so different reactions to the same message, right? And I was like, you know, it doesn't matter what you do, you're not going to please everybody, right? But I forget sometimes when I'm going through something, sometimes I just don't break those curses off every day and bind the demons attacking me. I don't do the spiritual warfare. Remember Jesus said first. Somebody say first. Bind the strong man. Remember Jesus only said to do things first. He used the term first twice. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. Right? Matthew 6:33. And then he said first bind the strong man. So that means those things should be priority. This do this first. So I realized after I repented that I I was just getting attacked. And I think kind of where we went reminded me of Eureka Springs. You get into the mountains and all these I don't know why the I guess it's the high places attract the witches and Satanists and all the voodoo ju guu people. Um and so there was again there was some spiritual warfare going on especially the last night we were there. It was weird night. Um, so anyway, I had to remind myself, I need to I really and I didn't feel like it at the moment, right? See, you're doing this when you don't feel like it. So I'm like, all right, I bind the demons of depression, heaviness, witchcraft, divination, all these demons coming at me. I bind them, rebuke them, command them to go for me in Jesus name. I started resisting the demons out loud in Jesus' name. I bind them and resist them and command them to go for me in Jesus' name. And then the Lord reminded me of something. And this is something I don't know why somebody like me that preaches on this all the time should remember, but for some reason over the last few

  12. weeks, I've gotten away from taking time to pray in tongues. Now, I know there's a lot of people, my wife told me that we, you know, we watch the Babylon be and you know, they they're hilarious sometimes, but I don't see them all the time. She I guess she sees them more than me. She said, but they've been lately they've been mocking Pentecostals. And I can just say this right now. Yes, there's some bad people out there that claim to be Pentecostal. Paula White's one of them, right? um that embarrasses and stereotypes the rest of us that are Pentecostal. But let me just go and tell you right now, Pentecostal doesn't mean being flashy. Doesn't mean being a prosperity preacher, teacher. It doesn't mean that you uh got to get $100,000 before you going to pray for anybody. um all this crazy stuff that goes on. But for your personal life, for your prayer life, and for your personal strengthening, you need to be praying in tongues for long periods of time. Now, I'm just going to tell you that that is probably when it comes to stirring up. Notice he said, "Stir up the gift." Somebody say the gift. Your responsibility to stir up the gift. So I it dawned on me while I'm sitting there resisting the devil, binding the demons, resisting the devil and breaking off witchcraft and curses and hatred and people's mouths speaking against me and all the stuff I'd have to fight off of me. Realize, you know, I hadn't really been praying in tongues a lot. I mean I some here and there but not for 30 minutes or an hour at a time. Say pastor an hour really. Yes. Some of you spend an hour scrolling. You can spend an hour speaking in tongues. Let me show you something. Go with me to uh the book of Jude real quick. Verse 17, we'll start there. He says, "But beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, how that they told you there should be mockers in the last time." Mockers, mocking Pentecostals, mocking the gifts

  13. of the Holy Spirit. Oh, yeah. That's part of this. Um, and let me tell you, they better be careful because it's one thing to mock, say, a false prophet or teacher that pretends to be Pentecostal, but you better not mock the actual gifts of the Holy Spirit that the Bible talks about because then you're moving over into blaspheming. But he said, "How I told you that how that they told you there should be mockers in the last time who should walk after their own ungodly lust. These be they who separate themselves sensual having not the spirit." It's always people who are not baptized in the Holy Spirit that want to mock. He says, "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost." That means praying in tongues. You build up your faith praying in the Holy Ghost. Now that means that you do what? If you're building up your faith, you are strengthening yourself. Didn't we read he said when he says stir up means to what? Strengthen yourself. Say, "Well, Pastor Dean, I don't have the gift of tongues." you can should become a priority in your life after being born again and let and making Jesus Lord of your life through repentance. The next thing you should be seeking with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength is the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. That is the gift that God has given that we have the responsibility to stir up that we can choose to use. It's the only one we choose to use, to strengthen us, to build us up spiritually, to build up our faith. And I say, well, you say, "Well, Pastor Dean, I don't believe that is what that verse is talking about." Well, let's go to 1 Corinthians 14 real quick now. Somebody's thinking that out there. So, let's just go ahead and deal with it. 1 Corinthians 14:1. Follow after charity or love in action and desire spiritual gifts. Somebody say desire. That means to lust for, long for. You can you should desire spiritual gifts, but rather that you may prophesy. For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God. For no man understandeth him. How be it in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification and exhortation and comfort. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself.

  14. Nowhere does it say you shouldn't do tongues. But know this, prophecy, the gift of prophecy is primarily for the body, to edify the body of Christ. But the gift of tongues is primarily to edify yourself. It's for your private life. It's for your prayer life. It's for your worship life. And it's not a known language because if it was a known language, then some man would understand. It says here in the unknown tongue that no man's understands. Paul talked about by the Holy Spirit the tongues of men and the tongues of angels. So when you're speaking in tonesues and praying in tonesues, you are strengthening yourself. And guess what you're doing? You are actually doing what Paul told Timothy to do to stir up the gift. This is why he goes on to say what? Let's drop down to verse oh let's see here. Drop down to verse um 13. Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the understanding also. See, he's again nowhere in this is he telling people not to do this. He's just explaining how this is supposed to operate within church services. But he's telling you what Paul said, I I speak with tongues more than all of you. Yet in church, what I'd rather prophesy, right? He's not saying, he's just showing you where the that the gifts are more important. So tonesues and interpretation of tonesues and prophecy more important for the body. But then he says, "But what I pray in tonesues more than all of you." Now if Paul said, "I pray in tonesues more than all of you." Which is verse oh what is that? Is it 18? Yeah. I thank my God I speak with tongues more than ye all. Paul was southern, right? They said I speak with tongues more than you all. And then let's, you know, I mean, I don't have time to go through this whole chapter, but let's look look at how it ends. He says, um, verse 39, he ends this whole chapter here saying, "Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy and forbid not to speak with tongues." You know, there churches, whole denominations, Bible colleges that forbid the gift of tongues to operate. Now, is there a counterfeit? Is there a demonic counterfeit? Yes, there is. But because there's counterfeit money, do I throw out all my real money? No.

  15. No. No. No. I got some counterfeit bills the other day down south of Montgomery. Gave me five three $5 bills and change from my 20 gave me fake money. So, they Yeah, I think they did it on purpose. Place looks a little shady. We shouldn't have stopped there, Donnie. I'm gonna blame it on Donnie. But this is, let me tell you what, if if you are not using this gift of tongues to help yourself in prayer and in worship and to strengthen yourself spiritually, you are losing out. You are missing out. This is a tool that God has given us to have the ability to stir up the gift, to edify ourselves, to build up our faith. And so after I had resisted the devil, the Lord reminded me, you know, you hadn't been praying in tongues. Stir up the gift. So I started praying in tonesues, and I did for a while. Guess what happened after I did those three things? Repented, right? Did spiritual warfare, got out of my laziness, cast down imaginations that were coming against me, and started praying in tongues for a long time. Guess what happened? The spiritual heaviness and darkness and oppression that was on me lifted off and left the room. And then I'm like, you big dummy. What? What do you What have you been doing? And it's like the devil will block your mind from thinking about that's what you need to do because he don't want you doing that. The just remember this, the devil wants to keep you from te talking to people about Jesus. He wants to keep you from prayer. And he definitely wants to keep you from stirring up the gift of God in you by praying in tongues. He hates those things. The devil, the demons, the principalities, but they hate those things because they strengthen you. They strengthen you spiritually. And guess what? If your spirit gets strong, it sustains your body. The spirit of man, somebody uh I can't remember what proverb is. The spirit of man will sustain his infirmity. Fi find that one for me and put that up. I know it's in Proverbs, but it talks about the spirit of man. And notice that when Paul's saying this, I will pray in the spirit. I will sing in the spirit. He uses the little s there. It's talking about our human spirit that's filled with the Holy Spirit does the praying.

  16. What's that, babe? 18:14. Proverbs 18:14. Our spirit man does the praying. That's why it says that when the Holy Spirit came upon them on the day of Pentecost, it says he what? He filled them and they spoke with tongues. The Holy Spirit's not speaking with tongues. And he's not going to make you do it. Anything that takes your body over and makes you do it is demonic. The spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet. So you choose to speak in tongues as the spirit gives what? The utterance. You So some of you are going to say, "Well, pastor Dean, I haven't received this." [cough] You need to. And it's simple. Make sure you've repented of your sin. Make sure Jesus is Lord of your life. Make sure he's number one. The next thing you do is, "Okay, Lord, I want to be baptized in the Holy Spirit." because it wasn't just the day of Pentecost. Sometime later, Peter goes to Cornelius's ha household in Acts chapter 10 and he starts preaching the first sermon to the Gentiles and it says the Holy Ghost fell upon them. And how did they know the Holy Ghost fell upon them and filled them? Because he said, "We heard them speak with tongues." This is how we know, right? Look at that. The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity, but a wounded spirit who can bear. So this is why, look, all of us have been wounded in our spirits. We've all been wounded by people, by situations, by things that's happened. Some of some very bad, very horrible things. And and that's why if we don't do this and we just live with a wounded spirit, we can't even sustain we can't sustain our our life, our even our health. This is important. The spirit of man will sustain his infirmity, his the weakness of his flesh. But how how is the spirit of man involved in this? Because we always want to go, ah, it's all God, right? No, it's our spirit doing what God wants it to do by our choice. He doesn't force us. That's why he told Timothy, you stir up, rekindle the fire of the gift of God that is in you by the putting on of my hands. And what do we know happened through the laying on of hands? Remember when the apostles went down after to uh where were they went? Samaria, the revival after Philip the evangelist went there and it says what? They called the apostles down to lay hands on people that they might be receive the baptism

  17. of the Holy Spirit. Right? Paul said, "I laid hands on you, Timothy, and you got the gift." Somebody say, "The gift." Some people say tongues the least of the gifts. I don't know where they get that from. But let's just say they're right. Didn't Jesus say, "The last shall be first." So even that right there, right? Well, but I don't understand, Dean, how that Babylon is is profitable. Guess what? That's why God is like God takes the the weak things and confounds the wise, the foolish things, the base things. See, people, they're just some people too noble in their own eyes to do things God's way. Part of that when Jesus said, he pulled a little child in front of him, said, "If you don't become like this little child, you will no wise enter the kingdom of God." What was he talking about? He wasn't just talking about humility and simple faith. What do children do? They usually can't speak right yet. They still learning. Tongues is a gift. So you say, "How do you receive this?" Well, you pray. But it's like Peter in the boat. And I've shared this many times and it's in my little book, Tongues of Fire. It's it's very simple. You can pray. I remember praying for my aunt Zola. My aunt Zola had been around Pentecost since 1920s. And in the 1980s, the late 80s, when I came back to Jesus and was baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, I came back expecting these Pentecostal women, both of them to be speaking in tongues. Guess what? One was and one wasn't. I'm like, how is this possible? Because this was a woman who prayed, who fasted, who lived for God. These are two of the most holy women you you could ever meet. Not perfect, but they were true blue bornagain Christians that and and my aunt Zola, I mean, she had Ian Bound's books on prayer just worn out, falling apart. She would read them and reread them. This woman would go out and every day she would go pray in the they would kneel down in the woods and pray. Yeah, the scary outdoor woods. Pastor D doesn't like the woods. I caught her out there many times kneeling down in the pine straw in her 70s, in her 80s. And I said, when I found out that she didn't have the gift of tongues operating in her life, I I said, "Uhuh." I said, "We're having a family devotion tonight." So, it was me, my two great aunts, and my great-grandmother. I said, "All right." We went through the scripture. I said, "Zola, you believe all this, right? You know all this." Oh, yes, yes, yes. I said, "All right, you we put you in the hot seat." So, we got a chair, put in the middle of the room. Sit down.

  18. I laid hands on her and started praying for her to be filled with the Holy Spirit. And the power of God came in that room. The power of the Holy Spirit came upon her so strong. She was crying. She was shaking. I mean, he was there, right? But she wouldn't open her mouth because she had it in her mind somewhere. Not from the Bible, but she had it in her mind that the Holy Spirit was going to make her mouth move, make her vocal cords move and everything and it was going to do it for her. No. And I explained that to her. I said, "You have got to open your mouth and start." See, put put up Proverbs 19 when it says not Proverbs 19, but I mean Acts 19. When Paul went to Ephesus and he found those 12 disciples and he asked him, he said, "Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?" And they said, "We've not heard about this." Paul explained it to them. He said, "He laid hands on them. The Holy Spirit came upon them and they let's let's read that. Go down to it. finding certain disciples going down. I think it's about verse. Yeah. And he said, "Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?" And they said unto him, "We have not so much heard, whether there be any Holy Ghost." Keep going. He said unto them, "What were you baptized?" He said, "Unto John's baptism, water baptism." Paul said, "John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on him which should come after him, and that is on Christ Jesus." When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. So there was a rebaptism. I guess they just knew John's and he baptized them in the name of Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came upon them or on them and they spake with tongues and prophesied. That's how the church of Ephesus began. Now think about this. The Holy Spirit came on my aunt Zola. shaking, crying. I And I would ask her, I said, "Is this the Holy Spirit upon you?" "Yes." She would say, "Yes, crying. Just shake." I say, "Okay, you just talk to me." Now, just don't talk to me and don't talk in English. Start. Step out of the boat. I know it's weird to walk on the water, but you got to step over the You got to get up and get out of the boat. She wouldn't do it. I can't tell you how many times we did this over the next few years when I'd visit. I'd be like, "All right, family devotion time, hot seat time." But during those years, too, we would do Bible studies in different people's homes. And a lot of times, that's how I got my brother baptized in the Holy Spirit, my best friend, Billy Mlennon, my best friend, one of my best friends, Craig Rivers back in the day. These these guys I led to Jesus. All right, get in the hot seat. we lay hands on you and praying for you to be filled with the Holy Spirit. And what was interesting when my two best friends

  19. that I grew up with, Billy and Craig, when I went to pray for them, the Lord told me, I came back from Arkansas one time and he said, "Go pray for Billy and Craig to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit." And I had one on this side and one on this side. And I had my hands on both of them. And I'm praying for them to be filled and baptized in the Holy Spirit. And they're agreeing. And I I remember when the Lord, this is the first time I ever prayed in tonesues in front of somebody. I was a little I didn't realize I was nervous, a little scared. And I'm praying for them and the Lord said they never heard anybody speak in tones. I heard him say, he said, "You need to pray in tonesues in front of." I'm like, "Oh Lord, here was a whole new adventure for me, right?" So I just start praying in tongues. Well, next thing I know, boom, for Craig, it was immediate. He just let loose. Billy, you know why Billy didn't? Craig had no church upbringing and Billy had been brought up Baptist, taught against it. So, it was an obstacle to him for a while. But we finally, I mean, he believed it and and said, "I know it's biblical, but he just could not take that step." But a few months later, we were in another Bible study and we were finishing the Bible study and we were all praying together and I went over to lay hands on him and pray for him again and boom, he started up. All right. It's something it's hard to explain. It's kind of like riding a bicycle. I can't explain to you in words how you're going to find your balance all you know like you I've taught a lot of children how to ride bicycles. I can't explain, but you're gonna figure it out in a minute. Now, I'm gonna help you. I'm gonna get you on the bike and get you started. And of course, the first few times, what? [clears throat] Right. Or like with little girls, you got you can't let them hit the ground. You got to run catch them before they hit the ground. I can't do that anymore. I used to have to run and catch them from hitting the ground or we would have a, you know, an international incident. Um, and I would be to blame, right? But all of a sudden, as they're keep trying, keep getting back on the bike, finally, boom, it clicks. They find it. They find the balance. And you can't really explain that. There's not really words for it. And and for for tongues, it's really not words for it. It's just like you have to start. you have to get on the bike and start. You say, "Well, if I fall over and I don't, you know, I that's fine. Just get back on the bike, try again. Get back on the bike, try again." And I I remember for me, I didn't have anybody laying hands on me because I I couldn't go to church for that first year of my life when I was in Arkansas and I I I rededicated my life to Jesus. But I was reading Acts chapter 2, chapter 10, chapter 19, and I said, 'Lord, if they needed this gift, I need this gift. I need this to help me.

  20. And I was I was literally in a closet pray. I was in my prayer closet. I had a closet. And the Lord was like, I'm not going to make you do it. You have to cooperate. And I just knew that. And I took a step of faith out and just didn't speak in English. I just started. And and it says they spoke with tongues as the Holy Spirit gave them utterance. So you start and he comes behind. And then after that, what's beautiful about it's just like a bicycle. Once you get it, you got it right. And you can ch you can choose to get on the bike and ride it or choose not to get on the bike and ride. But you've got it. You've you found the balance. So from then on, whenever you want to speak in tongues, you just get on the bike and start. And it's spiritual exercise. It's how you strengthen yourself. It's how you edify yourself. In fact, I remember the the old guard used to call it when it says edifying yourself was charging yourself up like a battery. You you you get your spiritual batteries run low. Y'all understand how these phones work? The batteries run low and you have to recharge them. How do we do that? We hook them up to a power source, right? Tongues. The gift of tongues is your power cord. It's your recharging cable. It's your rekindling the fire cable. And if you neglect it, you neglect the gift, what you're doing is quenching the Holy Spirit. 1:00:011 hour, 1 secondSee what's beautiful is if you will pray in tonesues for extended periods of time and also while you're praying in 1:00:081 hour, 8 secondstonesues ask for the interpretation of those tongues. 1:00:141 hour, 14 secondsAt times the Lord will give you a word an interpretation of what you're praying about or what the main theme of what he wants to say to you. And it may be one 1:00:221 hour, 22 secondssimple word. It may be one simple sentence. You just he just gives you something and it's going to be something you need or something that you need to 1:00:311 hour, 31 secondsshare with somebody. It's going to help somebody else cuz tongues and interpretation of tongues together is equivalent to the gift of prophecy. 1:00:401 hour, 40 secondsProphecy is what does it mean? Speaking by inspiration, something that God supernaturally gives. 1:00:471 hour, 47 secondsWell, prophecy is just something God supernaturally gives without the tongues. 1:00:521 hour, 52 secondsHe just gives it. But tongues and interpretation is another way to get a prophetic utterance. So why does that 1:00:591 hour, 59 secondsWell, remember remember when Elisha was with the three kings and they were like, "Oh, we're going to die out here in the desert." 1:01:081 hour, 1 minute, 8 secondsAnd he said, "You know, if Jehoshaphat wasn't here, I wouldn't even look at y'all." Right? But there were two wicked kings with him, Ahab and somebody else. 1:01:161 hour, 1 minute, 16 secondsI can't remember. 1:01:181 hour, 1 minute, 18 secondsBut basically because of that compromise that was there and the wickedness that was there, Elisha was hindered from 1:01:251 hour, 1 minute, 25 secondsoperating in the gift. He said, "Call me a minstrel." Right? So someone came who 1:01:321 hour, 1 minute, 32 secondswas anointed to play an instrument who was a worship person and they started playing and it says the Holy Spirit came upon him. Right? 1:01:411 hour, 1 minute, 41 secondsAnd what he prophesied, tongues is like that minstrel. 1:01:501 hour, 1 minute, 50 secondsIt will help you overcome the obstacles to hearing what God is saying. 1:01:581 hour, 1 minute, 58 secondsYou know, we we joke about the over the hedge, you know, the gateway to the good life. That's my we watched that little 1:02:051 hour, 2 minutes, 5 secondskid's cart. What is it? A animated movie, Over the Hedge, but he said the gateway to the good life. with the gateway to the to the gifts. You want to 1:02:131 hour, 2 minutes, 13 secondsbe sensitive to the Holy Spirit, have your spirit strong, and operate in the other gifts of the Holy Spirit, then you tongues is the gateway. 1:02:231 hour, 2 minutes, 23 secondsNow, it doesn't always have to be, but I've just found if you do that, 1:02:301 hour, 2 minutes, 30 secondsyou're going to be sensitive enough to move with the others as God begins to move on you. 1:02:391 hour, 2 minutes, 39 secondsYou hear me? And this is how you rekindle the fire. 1:02:471 hour, 2 minutes, 47 secondsAnd this is what we need to be. You know, this is one of my prayers for our church is that our church 1:02:561 hour, 2 minutes, 56 secondstends to get into apathetic little ruts. 1:03:021 hour, 3 minutes, 2 secondsI don't know why it is. Maybe it's just because we're Americans. I don't know. 1:03:071 hour, 3 minutes, 7 secondsMost of us, some people are from Washington State. 1:03:121 hour, 3 minutes, 12 secondsUm, but we need we need this. 1:03:261 hour, 3 minutes, 26 secondsWe need to make sure as a as a church, if we did this as a whole, if everybody in in our church did this, it would change everything. 1:03:401 hour, 3 minutes, 40 secondsAnd see, I want to see you guys flowing and moving in the Holy Spirit in the gifts 1:03:491 hour, 3 minutes, 49 secondsmore frequently, more often, edifying the body. 1:03:571 hour, 3 minutes, 57 secondsI want that. 1:04:001 hour, 4 minutesAnd I've done I've lived long enough now walking with the Lord to know that you just you go through seasons 1:04:071 hour, 4 minutes, 7 secondswhere it seems like things are just flowing like a river and then the next minute you're up on the bank wondering 1:04:151 hour, 4 minutes, 15 secondswhat happened. Like you're not in the river. 1:04:201 hour, 4 minutes, 20 secondsWell, I want to get us all get in the river at the same time. 1:04:241 hour, 4 minutes, 24 secondsAnd that's one thing about a river is that once you're in it, you don't have to 1:04:311 hour, 4 minutes, 31 secondsfight. You just let it flow. You just go with it. 1:04:371 hour, 4 minutes, 37 secondsYou don't try to swim against it. You just And that's what the Holy Spirit wants us to do. He's He wants to take us places. And here the thing is too, we 1:04:461 hour, 4 minutes, 46 secondscan say all day long we want revival. 1:04:541 hour, 4 minutes, 54 secondsBut if you can't stir up your own fire, how you going to how you going to have a a church fire? 1:05:051 hour, 5 minutes, 5 secondsI mean, people won't say they want revival and they can't make it to church once a week. How can we have revival all week long? 1:05:121 hour, 5 minutes, 12 secondsWouldn't nobody be there, right? 1:05:171 hour, 5 minutes, 17 secondsHuh? A few of us would. Yeah. You get what I'm saying? Revival is work, y'all. 1:05:241 hour, 5 minutes, 24 secondsGod starts moving and you start having services seven days a week. And usually revival start out there seven days a week. 1:05:321 hour, 5 minutes, 32 secondsEvery day. Every night. Brownsville kicked off. It was seven days a week. 1:05:381 hour, 5 minutes, 38 secondsThey would have services starting at about people start coming in about 6 sometimes. Well, I mean, once it got 1:05:461 hour, 5 minutes, 46 secondscrowded and there was a line out there, people would be there all day to get in. 1:05:501 hour, 5 minutes, 50 secondsBut let's say it they opened the doors at 6:00, service started at 7. Most of the time the services didn't end till midnight or after. 1:05:591 hour, 5 minutes, 59 secondsAnd then they would get up the next day and do it again. 1:06:031 hour, 6 minutes, 3 secondsFor months it went seven days a week and then they realized we need a day of rest. So Monday became their day off. 1:06:141 hour, 6 minutes, 14 secondsBut that's work. I remember the people. 1:06:161 hour, 6 minutes, 16 secondsThink about the people at that church that were ushers. 1:06:221 hour, 6 minutes, 22 secondsThey went from about 2500 people a week to tens of thousands. 1:06:311 hour, 6 minutes, 31 seconds5 million people walked in those doors, wore the the the the hinges out on the doors, wore the carpet out. 1:06:421 hour, 6 minutes, 42 secondsThink about the people that had to replace the toilet paper. 1:06:471 hour, 6 minutes, 47 secondsY'all laugh, but they had to find a new, you know, probably a new supplier of toilet paper. 1:06:571 hour, 6 minutes, 57 secondsThe fire marshall was constantly there making sure they weren't violating fire code. 1:07:071 hour, 7 minutes, 7 secondsBut I thought about I thought about the people that led praise praise and worship. And I'm not talking about the paid worship leaders. I'm talking about the people who came to back them up like 1:07:141 hour, 7 minutes, 14 secondsthe guitar players and the drummers and the other people, the singers, the backup singers there every night. Every 1:07:221 hour, 7 minutes, 22 secondsnight they all they had regular jobs. They had children. They had home. They had things 1:07:301 hour, 7 minutes, 30 secondsthey had to do. But they were at church every night. 1:07:351 hour, 7 minutes, 35 secondsThat was what made me in awe as a pastor going there because I saw people who were doing the 1:07:451 hour, 7 minutes, 45 secondsstuff that if they didn't do it, everything falls apart. 1:07:501 hour, 7 minutes, 50 secondsY'all think the toilet paper's funny, but no toilet paper. Things get weird. 1:08:011 hour, 8 minutes, 1 secondNo ushers. I remember there was one usher because I mean at at by June of of 96 it started in the summer night by 1:08:101 hour, 8 minutes, 10 secondsJune thousands of people were lining up outside but they wouldn't make anybody at that time nobody got in a line and I remember when they were you were going 1:08:191 hour, 8 minutes, 19 secondsto go in the doors I mean people were about to get trampled so they got an usher out there with a bullhorn single 1:08:261 hour, 8 minutes, 26 secondsfile line had two lines you didn't get in unless you were single file line. 1:08:371 hour, 8 minutes, 37 secondsYou think, "Well, that's no big deal." No, that kept somebody from getting hurt. 1:08:441 hour, 8 minutes, 44 secondsThat kept the door hinges from uh helped them last a little longer, right? 1:08:511 hour, 8 minutes, 51 secondsBut again, we we can't do these little things, stirring up our own fire, being faithful. 1:08:591 hour, 8 minutes, 59 secondsCan't come to church once a week. You're not going to go to church for revival. Sorry. 1:09:091 hour, 9 minutes, 9 secondsThat's why it talks about faithful in little. He is faithful in little is faithful in much. That's why you got to stir up the gift. 1:09:181 hour, 9 minutes, 18 secondsYou got to stir up your own private life. 1:09:241 hour, 9 minutes, 24 secondsSo people start well church should do this and church should do that and pastor should do this and pastor should do that. Okay. 1:09:331 hour, 9 minutes, 33 secondsWhat has a little girl taught us? Worry about yourself. 1:09:401 hour, 9 minutes, 40 secondsWhat are you doing? 1:09:431 hour, 9 minutes, 43 secondsRemember that guy that used to come to NY's church when she was younger? Dave Robersonson. Robersonson is that thing. 1:09:531 hour, 9 minutes, 53 secondsBut he God called him to ministry and he didn't know what to do. Didn't know what to do. Said, "I have no idea." The Lord told him to quit his job. Well, he said 1:10:011 hour, 10 minutes, 1 secondhe figured, well, I worked for eight hours a day and the Lord now wants me to work for him. I get and I don't know what to do. So, he said he would go. He said, "I'm going to give God eight hours." And he didn't know what to do. 1:10:101 hour, 10 minutes, 10 secondsHe said, "I would run out of what to say or what to pray." And finally, the Lord was like, "Pray in tonesues." And he 1:10:181 hour, 10 minutes, 18 secondsstarted praying in tonesues for eight hours a day. And this went on for weeks. 1:10:221 hour, 10 minutes, 22 secondsAnd the next thing you know, he walks into I can't remember was a bas was a Baptist church or Methodist church, but it was a it was one of those churches 1:10:301 hour, 10 minutes, 30 secondsthat did not have the gifts. Did not want the gifts. 1:10:351 hour, 10 minutes, 35 secondsDid not want anybody to come in with the gifts. 1:10:391 hour, 10 minutes, 39 secondsBut he went and sat down in the sanctuary and during the service and God started giving him words of knowledge about people that needed to be healed. 1:10:471 hour, 10 minutes, 47 secondsJust the gifts began to operate and he started praying for people and and the lady was healed. was one of the old ladies in the church completely healed and started testifying. Oh Lord, here we go. Right. 1:11:001 hour, 11 minutesBut he kindled up a fire 1:11:071 hour, 11 minutes, 7 secondsand then you you never know when that fire is going to explode in the church and you're going to have revival. 1:11:161 hour, 11 minutes, 16 secondsBut we need everybody that. 1:11:201 hour, 11 minutes, 20 secondsAnd it'll help you get free from depression. 1:11:241 hour, 11 minutes, 24 secondsIt'll help you get free from lust. It'll help you get free from all kinds of crap that we deal with. You hear me? All right. 1:11:401 hour, 11 minutes, 40 secondsLet's stand. Stirring them up. Are we having a lot of anti? 1:11:531 hour, 11 minutes, 53 secondsI know. Let me just say this and this is another This is Here we go. Not everybody has a gift. And they'll try to quote 1:12:021 hour, 12 minutes, 2 seconds12. 1 Corinthians 12. Let me just go and explain this while y'all are standing. 1:12:101 hour, 12 minutes, 10 secondsThere's a there's a ministry gift of tongues that's for the public worship service. Not everyone will be called or 1:12:181 hour, 12 minutes, 18 secondsled by God to do the tongues and interpretation thing in public. 1:12:251 hour, 12 minutes, 25 secondsBut Jesus said this, and I'm just going to be plain. Mark 16, right? 17. Let's put put that up there, please. 1:12:361 hour, 12 minutes, 36 secondsVerse 17. So he said, "These signs shall follow them that believe." He didn't say, "Some of them." 1:12:431 hour, 12 minutes, 43 secondsHe said, "These signs shall follow them that believe." Now, you have to believe it. Now, if you start believing that it's not for me, then guess what? You're not going to believe. You're not going 1:12:511 hour, 12 minutes, 51 secondsto receive it because you have to operate by faith in this. These signs shall follow them that believe in my name. They shall cast out devils. They 1:13:001 hour, 13 minutesshall speak with new tongues. New means never known before. Brand new, supernatural, 1:13:061 hour, 13 minutes, 6 secondsnot Chinese, not Spanish, unknown tongues, new tongues. Now, think 1:13:151 hour, 13 minutes, 15 secondsabout this. I want to compare these two real quick. 1:13:191 hour, 13 minutes, 19 secondsHe said, "In my name, first they shall cast out demons." That's something you have to choose to do. 1:13:261 hour, 13 minutes, 26 secondsYou have to step out of the boat and pray for somebody, bind the demons, and command them to leave somebody. It's something you have to actively participate in in the name of Jesus. 1:13:361 hour, 13 minutes, 36 secondsWell, tongues is the same way. 1:13:391 hour, 13 minutes, 39 secondsYou sit back and go, "Well, I just don't have that gift." You never will. Yeah. And that really is a copout. 1:13:491 hour, 13 minutes, 49 secondsAnd you can get mad at me if you want to. I don't care because it's Yeah. 1:13:551 hour, 13 minutes, 55 secondsMost of the time, again, the block is not from God. It's from your own mind, your own teaching, your wrong teaching 1:14:041 hour, 14 minutes, 4 secondsyou've received, the anti-gift teaching you've received. 1:14:091 hour, 14 minutes, 9 secondsThat's why it's easier to lead someone into the baptism of the Holy Spirit that's never been in church than one 1:14:171 hour, 14 minutes, 17 secondsthat's lived in churches that's taught against it, or taught incorrectly. 1:14:241 hour, 14 minutes, 24 secondsRight. 1:14:261 hour, 14 minutes, 26 secondsBottom line is Jesus said, "These signs shall follow them that believe." Not some of them. 1:14:351 hour, 14 minutes, 35 secondsPaul said, "I would or I wish or I desire that you all spake with tongues." 1:14:431 hour, 14 minutes, 43 secondsNow, he knew some wouldn't because of this very thing. this attitude, this attitude of well, I I've tried and 1:14:511 hour, 14 minutes, 51 secondswell, what's happened is you you fell over and skinned your knee on the bike and you don't want to get hurt again. You don't want to try to ride it again. 1:14:591 hour, 14 minutes, 59 secondsGet over yourself and your offense and your wrong teaching because God does not give some gifts to 1:15:071 hour, 15 minutes, 7 secondshelp some of his children and won't give it to others. This is ridiculous. 1:15:141 hour, 15 minutes, 14 secondsBut everything that we receive from God or that we operate in that is of God has to be through faith. And faith without 1:15:231 hour, 15 minutes, 23 secondsworks is dead being alone. Meaning you have to put some action in with it. You have to believe it in your heart, speak 1:15:301 hour, 15 minutes, 30 secondsit with your mouth, and then act upon whatever God's action that he wants you to act upon. That's how things work. 1:15:401 hour, 15 minutes, 40 secondsYou can sit there and go, "Well, I I don't I don't have the gift to cast out demons." No, you've never actually stepped out of the boat and done it. 1:15:491 hour, 15 minutes, 49 secondsIt's It's not a gift that God makes you do or you don't you know, some Christians have and don't have. No, every born again believer can cast 1:15:561 hour, 15 minutes, 56 secondsdemons out of somebody if they choose to actually do it 1:16:031 hour, 16 minutes, 3 secondsto help somebody. Well, guess what? It's in the same sentence here. semicolon. 1:16:091 hour, 16 minutes, 9 secondsThey shall speak with new tongues. 1:16:151 hour, 16 minutes, 15 secondsI don't want to hear your false teachings from your Baptist background, your Presbyterian background, your Methodist background. I don't want to 1:16:231 hour, 16 minutes, 23 secondshear it. I don't care. It's the word of God. Period. 1:16:301 hour, 16 minutes, 30 secondsBreak free from that denominational nonsense. Yes. 1:16:411 hour, 16 minutes, 41 secondsOkay, somebody said the question, how do you know if you're just talking gibberish or it's the truth? First of all, the witness of the Holy Spirit, the 1:16:501 hour, 16 minutes, 50 secondssame witness that you receive when you got saved. 1:16:551 hour, 16 minutes, 55 secondsBecause if you didn't receive the witness of the spirit, then you're not born again, right? The spirit himself 1:17:031 hour, 17 minutes, 3 secondsbears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. Romans 8, right? I think verse 14 down. 1:17:121 hour, 17 minutes, 12 secondsIf you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit will come upon you. He will bear witness to it. You will know 1:17:191 hour, 17 minutes, 19 secondsit's him. Like my my little great aunt, Holy Spirit came on. She knew. I'd ask her, "Is this the Holy Spirit?" "Yes." 1:17:261 hour, 17 minutes, 26 seconds"Okay, then you're safe. Go ahead. Step out of the boat. Remember when Jesus came walking on the water to them, they were first what? Afraid. 1:17:381 hour, 17 minutes, 38 secondsBut what did they say? What did Peter say? Lord, if it's you, invite me out there. Right? It's okay. 1:17:461 hour, 17 minutes, 46 secondsTest the spirits. You should, right? But once you know it's the same witness of the Holy Spirit, the same Holy Spirit that you felt when you were 1:17:541 hour, 17 minutes, 54 secondsborn again and you're praying that he'd fill you. 1:17:591 hour, 17 minutes, 59 secondsBible says if you're a child and you're asking for the Holy Spirit, he's not going to give you a serpent or a scorpion. Right? 1:18:091 hour, 18 minutes, 9 secondsThey say, "Well, Pastor Dean, this is just too hard to say." Yeah, I know. 1:18:131 hour, 18 minutes, 13 secondsBut what'll happen is when you step out and you find that like the bicycle when you you're going to come running you're going to come running back to me go oh I 1:18:221 hour, 18 minutes, 22 secondsknow now I know what you're talking about. It's something you have to experience. It's something you have to choose to do. 1:18:301 hour, 18 minutes, 30 secondsThis is like Christians who stepped out for the first time to cast demons out of people. 1:18:361 hour, 18 minutes, 36 secondsMan, what an experience. It was my first time doing that. 1:18:401 hour, 18 minutes, 40 secondswhen you know when you got a a a exsatanist in front of you that you led to Jesus start growling a little little 1:18:491 hour, 18 minutes, 49 seconds16-year-old girl starts growling and talking like a man and you know so loud that you're nearly blows your eyeballs out. 1:19:011 hour, 19 minutes, 1 secondYou got to choose to do something. I could have walked away and not helped her. 1:19:061 hour, 19 minutes, 6 secondsBut I believe in Jesus' name. I have the power and the authority to cast out demons. So what did I start doing? In 1:19:131 hour, 19 minutes, 13 secondsthe name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I command these demons to leave her. Now they didn't leave at first. Oh, we got a little wrestling match on our hands. 1:19:241 hour, 19 minutes, 24 secondsOkay. All I knew was Jesus asked them what's their name when they didn't leave. So I said, "What is your name?" And that thing yelled at me, "My name is 1:19:311 hour, 19 minutes, 31 secondsLegion." I thought, "Oh, thank you. bound legion and commanded to come out. 1:19:391 hour, 19 minutes, 39 secondsSo I mean thousands of demons. 1:19:421 hour, 19 minutes, 42 secondsNow I had to step out and do something I'd never done before to help somebody. The gift of tongues is 1:19:521 hour, 19 minutes, 52 secondssaying you have to step out and do something. 1:19:551 hour, 19 minutes, 55 secondsYou got to start moving that mouth and the Holy Spirit will bear witness with your spirit. 1:20:031 hour, 20 minutes, 3 secondsAnd sometimes it's going to be in your private prayer time by yourself. You be all alone for some people. Some people need somebody that's baptized in the 1:20:101 hour, 20 minutes, 10 secondsHoly Spirit. lay hands on them. God does it different ways. 1:20:141 hour, 20 minutes, 14 secondsBut don't dare say is not for me because I can assure you it won't be by your own mouth. You will have what you say. 1:20:261 hour, 20 minutes, 26 secondsYou'll have what you believe when it comes to this. Not for me. That's for other Christians. 1:20:361 hour, 20 minutes, 36 secondsYou will never have this gift that God wants you to have, this tool, this weapon. You will never be able to stir 1:20:421 hour, 20 minutes, 42 secondsup the fire the way it needs to be stirred up. 1:20:471 hour, 20 minutes, 47 secondsAnd I'm just telling you, this is Bible the way it is. 1:20:541 hour, 20 minutes, 54 secondsIt's not the Baptist way. It's not the Methodist way. It's not the Presbyterian way. 1:20:591 hour, 20 minutes, 59 secondsI'm not ashamed that I am Pentecostal because I believe that these gifts are 1:21:061 hour, 21 minutes, 6 secondsfor today for any believer that can believe from the heart and speak it with the mouth. Remember what Jesus said about getting saved. 1:21:161 hour, 21 minutes, 16 secondsHe said you must believe it in your heart. Man believeth unto righteousness. 1:21:221 hour, 21 minutes, 22 secondsWith the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 1:21:271 hour, 21 minutes, 27 secondsAnd then because you said you've confessed the Lord Jesus, meaning you're surrendering to him, then your life, the 1:21:351 hour, 21 minutes, 35 secondsrepentance and the following of Jesus is the action of that belief in the heart, confession of the mouth. And that action 1:21:441 hour, 21 minutes, 44 secondsis what brings the witness of the Holy Spirit that you are saved. And then it says in Colossians 2, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk 1:21:531 hour, 21 minutes, 53 secondsye in him. Meaning everything else works the same way. I believe in my heart the word of God says I can cast out demons 1:22:001 hour, 22 minutesin Jesus name. Therefore, I'm going to speak it with my mouth. Come out in Jesus' name. And I'm going to step out and pray for somebody and do it. 1:22:101 hour, 22 minutes, 10 secondsAnd then what? The Lord moves. It's the same way with the gift of tongues. I'm going to believe it's for me. I'm going 1:22:171 hour, 22 minutes, 17 secondsto step out of the boat and I'm going to start speaking and trust him to give me the utterance. 1:22:271 hour, 22 minutes, 27 secondsand you shall have it. 1:22:301 hour, 22 minutes, 30 secondsSo get free. Get free from the Baptist nonsense. 1:22:351 hour, 22 minutes, 35 secondsThe Bible was clear. I read it earlier last verses in 1 Corinthians 14. 1:22:421 hour, 22 minutes, 42 secondsWherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy and forbid not to speak with tongues. 1:22:491 hour, 22 minutes, 49 secondsDon't forbid yourself. That's not for me. You're forbidding yourself. 1:23:001 hour, 23 minutesI one of the worst things in the world is bad teaching in a religious setting is 1:23:071 hour, 23 minutes, 7 secondsfor some reason gets in people ingrained in them and it's like trying to break through rocks and and metal bars, prison bars to get them to come out of it. 1:23:201 hour, 23 minutes, 20 secondsTrust the word of God. believe it in your heart and step out and put actions with it. Amen. You can say, "I believe 1:23:301 hour, 23 minutes, 30 secondswe're supposed to lead people to Jesus." But guess what? 1:23:331 hour, 23 minutes, 33 secondsIf you don't believe that in your heart enough to step out and go preach the gospel to somebody and then to actually lead them in prayer 1:23:421 hour, 23 minutes, 42 secondsto accept Jesus, then it's not going to happen. You have to believe it, speak it, put actions to what you do. That is 1:23:501 hour, 23 minutes, 50 secondsfaith. If you want the definition of faith, that is faith. You believe it in your heart what the word of God says. 1:23:561 hour, 23 minutes, 56 secondsYou speak it out with your mouth and then you act upon it. That is faith. There anything else is is not of faith. 1:24:051 hour, 24 minutes, 5 secondsIt's unbelief. And unbelief will block you in the gifts of the spirit or doing anything supernatural because it's all a step of faith. 1:24:171 hour, 24 minutes, 17 secondslaying hands on the sick, casting out demons, speaking in tongues, binding and resisting the demons. That's 1:24:251 hour, 24 minutes, 25 secondswhat taking up serpents means, binding and resisting the demons. 1:24:321 hour, 24 minutes, 32 secondsYeah, Pastor Troy brought up Mark 6 that Jesus, it says Jesus could not do any 1:24:401 hour, 24 minutes, 40 secondsmighty works in his hometown of Nazareth because of their unbelief. Unbelief blocks. What does unbelief say? 1:24:491 hour, 24 minutes, 49 secondsNot for me. 1:24:511 hour, 24 minutes, 51 secondsBible says it is. But your Baptist pastor told you what? Well, I'm sorry. He's wrong. Oh, Pastor Dean, you're just a bully. 1:24:591 hour, 24 minutes, 59 secondsNo, I'm just going to tell you the truth. 1:25:021 hour, 25 minutes, 2 secondsI've walked in this now for almost 40 years. It's not something I I've read in a book. You know, I just made up myself. 1:25:101 hour, 25 minutes, 10 secondsIt's in the Bible and I've seen the real and I've seen the counterfeit and I like 1:25:181 hour, 25 minutes, 18 secondsthe real and I'm not going to not teach about the 1:25:251 hour, 25 minutes, 25 secondsreal because of counterfeits or bad teaching. I'm sorry. 1:25:331 hour, 25 minutes, 33 secondsAnd I know I know I you know people say well the first Corinthians 13 says tongues will be done away with and it was done and and here's their 1:25:421 hour, 25 minutes, 42 secondshere's their story. Tongues was done away with when the when the Bible was finished when the cannon of scripture was finished. And that's not in the 1:25:491 hour, 25 minutes, 49 secondsBible. That's that's not that's a doctrine taught in Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, your your denominational churches against the gifts. But it says 1:25:571 hour, 25 minutes, 57 secondsthat tongues will cease and prophecies and all that will cease. What? When we see him face to face, when we see 1:26:061 hour, 26 minutes, 6 secondsJesus, when he returns, see, when we see him, it says we shall be like him. We shall be changed. We will we will go from being mortal to immortal, from 1:26:151 hour, 26 minutes, 15 secondscorruptible to incorruptible. We will be one with Jesus. We will have the mind of Christ fully. We will have no need 1:26:231 hour, 26 minutes, 23 secondsof tongues or prophecy. We will know what he knows. Isn't that something to think about? 1:26:301 hour, 26 minutes, 30 secondsI mean, we're going to be one with him fully. 1:26:371 hour, 26 minutes, 37 secondsSo there's no that's when it it says those things are to cease. Yeah, they will cease one day. 1:26:451 hour, 26 minutes, 45 secondsBe no need for tongues. Why you you going to need tongues to edify yourself when you're immortal, incorruptible, made like Jesus, and one with him? 1:26:561 hour, 26 minutes, 56 secondsI won't need to speak in tongues. 1:26:581 hour, 26 minutes, 58 secondsMatter of fact, I'll speak every language that ever existed. 1:27:061 hour, 27 minutes, 6 secondsActually, I believe we're going to go to one language anyway. 1:27:111 hour, 27 minutes, 11 secondsBut the Bible tells us, one language eventually. Can somebody say amen? Amen. 1:27:181 hour, 27 minutes, 18 secondsI want to do that. I want to do that verse, that song again before we go. And I want anybody in here, 1:27:261 hour, 27 minutes, 26 secondsyou say, I feel like I need prayer for this. I want you to just come. We're gonna do that song two or three times. We have to this morning. 1:27:351 hour, 27 minutes, 35 secondsBut anybody that wants prayer, laid hands on for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you come up here. But let me tell you right now, 1:27:421 hour, 27 minutes, 42 secondsif you don't take the step and speak and open your mouth, it's not going to happen. 1:27:501 hour, 27 minutes, 50 secondsYou get you the Holy Spirit come all over you. You can be shaking, crying, snotting, rolling on the floor, all that. 1:27:591 hour, 27 minutes, 59 secondsAnd uh be the Holy Spirit all over you. 1:28:021 hour, 28 minutes, 2 secondsBut if you don't open your mouth and start, not in English, not in a known language, just start. Give the Lord something to work with. 1:28:131 hour, 28 minutes, 13 secondsIt'll happen. Amen. 1:28:161 hour, 28 minutes, 16 secondsSo, if you need prayer for this, as this song starts, y'all come on down. 1:28:271 hour, 28 minutes, 27 seconds[singing and music] 1:28:331 hour, 28 minutes, 33 seconds[music] 1:28:341 hour, 28 minutes, 34 secondsYou are God in heaven and here [singing] am I [music] on earth. 1:28:451 hour, 28 minutes, 45 secondsSo I let [singing] you need prayer.
