well i want everybody to take your bibles out and we're going to turn to the book of acts first this morning acts chapter 11. because i think there's some things that we need to clear up here and we need to teach on and it's just on my heart you know we sing that song this morning in the secret and where the the chorus is talking about i want to hear your voice um this right here should be the cry the desire the longing for every christian that's been born again that loves jesus and and you know what most people don't even realize most people people who are not saved unsaved people the reason they never find happiness in anything out there in the world not in sex drugs rock and roll oh it gives you a temporary high but they never find what they're looking for they always got to find a new high they always got to find you know a different sex partner they always got to find you know another another drink another reason to have a party you know there's always got to be something else they're trying to feel constantly fill a void and the problem is that the bible bible's very clear that we were created to have fellowship with god we were created to have intimacy with god and that means that not only do we sit and pray and talk and he never talks back but that we were to have an intimate fellowship with god almighty now jesus made it very clear i'm going to quote this verse here jesus said in john 10 verse 27 you can just write this down he made it very clear he said my sheep hear my voice and they follow me now what's very interesting about that even though there are people out there there are pastors of churches and professors and seminaries and things that will say that yes but god only speaks by the bible god only speaks by the written word he doesn't speak to individuals anymore but there's a problem with that because this verse where jesus said my sheep hear my voice this verse the verbs hear and follow are present tense greek verbs now any theologian or seminary student with any intellectual honesty knows that a present tense greek verb the definition of a present tense greek verb means ongoing continuous action
that is taking place in the present and even the bible gives us two greek words for the word of god did you know that sometimes you'll see in the bible where it's translated word of god when you see that phrase the word of god in the new testament sometimes word is translated logos and sometimes it's translated rhema two different words and i like to explain it like this the logos is what god has said what's written in this book amen now it's much more than that but that's a good way to understand it rhema is what god is saying now and what i love if you turn to the book of revelation in chapter three when he's talking in chapter two and three when he's talking to the churches i love what jesus says now you've got to remember that this was a.d 95 when jesus gave this prophetic word to the apostle john and to speak to the churches but what's interesting is what he said at the end of every one of those he said he that hath an ear let him hear what the spirit is saying to the churches not what the spirit said but what is the spirit saying to the churches now let me make it clear and i've taught this before to you guys and it's very clear when we talk about hearing the voice of god and the gifts of the holy spirit where you hear god speak to you or reveal something to you whether it be by him directly communicating words into your spirit or it's by a vision or it's by a dream or one of the gifts of the spirit we'll talk about those in a second god's never going to contradict his word his written word and he's never going to lead you into error or for that matter lead you into something that's sinful so let's just get that straight it's obvious right i i mean i've had debates recently on facebook with people who want to say that if you say you're a prophet or you say that god still speaks to people you're somehow adding to the scriptures you're somehow and i had to tell a guy i said well listen i haven't written any new books and added them to the bible you understand nobody's trying to add to the bible but let me just say how ridiculous it is to believe that we serve the most powerful being in the universe the eternal almighty god the creator of the heavens and the earth the stars and the planets and the galaxies and everything that exists how how ridiculous it is it to believe
that he can't communicate to his people individually as well as corporately in a very real way and for some reason i don't know why they think when you when you start talking about this that you're diminishing the scriptures no as a matter of fact i can just tell you this most people who do hear from god and operate in the gifts of prophecy and hear the voice of god and are led by the spirit of god most of those people are more in the word of god and know the bible better than most people so it's just a false attack it's one of those straw man arguments that makes no sense because most people that really walk with god hear his voice operate in the gifts are word people meaning they love the bible they read the bible they study the bible they meditate on god's word and because they have a good foundation of the written word they're able to discern when they're hearing the voice of god when god's spirit is speaking to them leading them guiding them so on and so forth right but i mean i have people tell me just yesterday i have people tell me a pastor tell me that he believes in the gifts of the spirit but that basically he doesn't believe that god would reveal something ahead of time to somebody that has to do with the second coming of jesus maybe as a sign that's not written in here and i said well there's a lot of things not written in here and i gave you an example i said you know god spoke to me about the japanese earthquake that happened in 2011 he god showed me in a dream very clearly that there would be a massive earthquake in the pacific ocean that it would cause a tsunami and that there would be some type of nuclear incident with it that literally i saw three nuclear bombs going off and i did not understand what they meant until a year and a half later and many of you know i shared that in church and i shared that many times before it happened and i told him i said is there any mention in the bible about nuclear reactors or nuclear bombs specifically right yeah the bible talks about earthquakes does it say japan in here does it say pacific ocean in here no you get what i'm saying i even told him i said you know when i was in washington dc in 2008 and the lord told me that the church that i was going to was going to fire me on november 30th
and that when they fired me i was to go to auburn and alabama and start a church where in this book is it written dean they're going to fire you on november 30th and when they do go to auburn and start a church you have to understand that god can do whatever he wants he can speak to whomever he wants whenever he wants however he wants that ought to make somebody stand up almost dance a jig right there i don't understand these people who limit god oh he'll only speak by what's written in the bible or he'll only speak a certain way to certain people no i love what paul said he said i pray that you may all prophesy one by one first corinthians 4 oh my goodness i mean all the everybody could prophesy yes it's possible all of god's children why could all prophesy because all of god's children should they don't but they should hear his voice they should be able to discern when the holy spirit is speaking to them and trying to lead them and guide them into something the problem in the church and among christians is not that god is not speaking to them it's that you are not either close enough to hear or you are not listening or something is blocking something has been stuffed in your ears and that's why repentance from sin that's why fasting and prayer that's why i'm meditating on the written word and studying the written word those things unclog the spiritual ears they open the spiritual eyes and when god sees you being faithful with the written word and faithful with prayer and faithful in in fasting he can take the plugs out he can take off you know what's blocking your vision he can take off what's blocking your hearing and you can become what you're supposed to become and that is a spirit led spirit inspired christian see they think that most of the church world things that if you say you hear the voice of god you prophesy god shows you things before they're going to happen but they think that we are abnormal no no no new testament christianity what i'm talking about visions dreams prophetic words revelation from god hearing god's voice being led by the spirit seeing supernatural direction coming to your life that's normal they're not normal and most of them are like that because they've been taught wrong or because
they're afraid they're afraid to get out there on the water and make a mistake bottom line it takes a little bit of a pioneer spirit a little bit of a risk taker to say you know what your bunch of slappies can sit in the boat i'm going out there and walk on the water with jesus right remember i pre i think i preached a sermon that i stole it from an old preacher but the old saying he used to have i can't remember the guy's name now but i'd rather be a wet water walker than a dry boat rider right and boy the ones in the boat they love to talk about how we get out there and if we make a mistake how we get out there and mess up and they love to talk about that but they're still in the boat ah and guess what they never saw a miracle they never got to walk on the water but peter did right that's what i'm talking about is there a hunger in you for the supernatural is there a hunger in you to know the will of god for your life is there a hunger in you to do what the bible says and to covet to prophesy to want to prophesy why should you want to prophesy well the bible says that prophesying edifies the church literally you're helping strengthen and build the church and it says sometimes that you can reveal the secrets of a sinner's heart and they'll fall down and say we know that god is in you of a truth there's nothing like walking in the supernatural being a true spirit-led christian that has enough intimacy with god that you can hear his voice and flow in the gifts this is so important you guys now of course i'm going to say this you know i've already said it's the first and foremost thing it's very important that you're truly born again right we got to start at the starting place right because really until you truly have repented of sin and really made jesus lord and had the witness of the holy spirit come in and you felt the power of regeneration of being born again and you have the witness and you know that you're born again you don't know how to recognize the holy spirit witness from then on because the same spirit that came upon you and touched you when you were born again when you were saved is the same spirit that will come and touch you and let you know when he's speaking to you he will confirm it by his presence by his peace by his witness when you hear words or you have a dream or you have a vision from god he will confirm it by his presence in some way his peace his touch see this is what i'm getting at they think it's strange that we talk about feeling the presence of god or the touch of god or the anointing of god i think it's strange if you call yourself a christian and you don't
you know only dead bodies feel nothing dead bodies or drugged ones something's wrong right but if you're alive in christ come on now if you're alive in jesus christ if you're born again by the blood of the lamb and the witness of the holy spirit has made it clear to you that you are born again then you're living your living creature your spirit's been made alive your soul is alive you're even your flesh is revival everything is touched because jesus christ and the whole his holy spirit has come to dwell in you and that means you're living and a living being should feel things a living being should experience things it should see things it should hear things and listen to me paul was very clear in first corinthians 15 he said there is a spiritual body and there is a physical body and just like you have physical eyes and physical ears and physical sense of feel you have spiritual eyes and spiritual ears and a spiritual sense of feel oh don't shout me down when i'm preaching goodness they say the whole pentecostal saying right it's normal it's normal to sense and to feel when god is moving when god is speaking boy i wouldn't want a part of any christianity that had nothing but written words because what is that i love the bible don't get me wrong i thank god for it it is our guide it is our anchor in the storm it is everything it is our foundation it is everything but but we are also to have with the knowledge of the word of god the written word we're to have a knowledge of an intimacy with a real relationship with the living god so i said acts chapter 11. didn't i y'all thought i forgot y'all know i have to introduce things right there's so much that can be said about this you could preach for months on this right but let me show you something listen we need to get some understanding of new what new testament prophets and and the gift of prophecy we need to understand this especially because this ministry is a prophetic ministry right so we need to understand it because there's a bunch of confusion out there and and i'm saying this too because not
just because there's some confusion out there but but i believe the lord wanted me to teach on this and preach on this because the lord wants you each of you to be sharpened to your faith to be built up and for you to to get to the place where literally you understand it's okay to covet earnestly desire listen to this covet earnestly desire lust for the gifts of the holy spirit and particularly he said to prophesy amen all of you should be i know i know some of you already do some of you already do in church and i praise god for it but there's more we can go deeper amen i want everybody hearing god's voice prophesying desiring to to flow in the gifts of the holy spirit and positioning yourself so you can it's something you have to want i don't understand i just don't understand people who settle for things now let's look there are people now again we're going to start off with here who tell me and let me just say this before i say what that little part of the conversation yesterday um but there's all christians can hear god's voice and all christians may prophesy that doesn't mean you're a prophet just because you prophesy okay i can dive off a diving board but that doesn't make me an olympic diver you understand all right so we have ministry gifts and we have spiritual gifts or the gifts of the holy spirit now ministry gifts are different but i had yesterday you know somebody tell me that basically that they don't believe new testament prophets are the are the same or operate the same as old testament prophets now where they get this stuff i don't even know sometimes i'm just like why where where do you find that in the bible where's that verse new testament prophets are different than old i don't know where it is exist it must be in some apocryphal book or something right must be in some book of pope francis i don't know right but where do they come up with this stuff but here's the thing what do we see in old testament prophets what do we see dreams right visions right god speaking to them personally
sometimes even god appearing to them and speaking to them right sometimes angels were sent to speak to them work right here in it funny new testament sometimes god appeared like he did to jesus did at the saul of tarsus and spoke to him on the road to damascus sometimes it was visions like peter in acts chapter 2. oh and ananias who wasn't an apostle in acts chapter 9 right sometimes it was by disdirect words right or like paul on the ship when god he said an angel stood beside me and told me these things in it interesting that the same way god spoke to the prophets in the old testament he spoke to the apostles and prophets and here's an amazing thing normal what we would call normal lay people in the new testament right somebody just say this with me god has not changed why can't we get that simple truth down in us he has not changed the only thing he did was that's any different at all is that under the old covenant he had an animal sacrificial system that pointed to a day when jesus would come and become our sacrifice and when that day took place when jesus came and became that perfect sacrifice he made a better covenant with better promises but the the way god operates and who he is and how he works has not changed he doesn't change he doesn't change right i am the lord thy god he said and i change not is what malachi says right lord help us all right so let's look at i want you to look at at ax let's just settle it once and for all all right because we got charismaniacs out here who basically say you know first corinthians 14 3 says that prophecy is for edification exhortation and comfort and they basically say that the gift of prophecy or the ministry of prophets is only for encouragement okay that is really not in the new testament it's not a predictive thing of predicting future events or even of exposing sin or exposing false teachers or things of that nature and so uh again wrong wrong wrong and that got real popular in the 80s and the in the 90s and the charismatic movement and and really let me tell you what it did that idea that the the new testament gift of
prophecy is only to be sweet and encouraging that idea just neutered prophetic ministry in many people who were called to it because there was such social cultural pressure within the church world even among spirit-filled churches that believed in prophecy that it had to be a certain way that that god only worked a certain way and that that the gift of prophecy was only for edification exhortation and comfort mind you they didn't bother to define that exhortation means to call someone near to christ and if you have to call someone near to christ you have to get things out of the way that would cause them to not be able to get near christ but you know i'll just leave on that one but i said you know yesterday i was having to say well okay what about agabus the prophet if if god didn't speak if new testament prophecy was not about predictive things and why do i say this because for some of you i believe god's going to increase the gift of prophecy may even call some of you to a prophetic office and calling and here's the thing you need to understand what what are the new testament perimeters of prophecy what what how do i know that i'm hearing how do i know that i'm hearing correctly and i'm operating correctly okay um so again let's just deal with it acts chapter 11. this is what i love about this because you know of course you got the academia people the you know the seminarians um that um you know go well it was only for the 12 and for paul but you know that was it there's no more need for prophetic gifts or prophetic ministry i thought well what's this dude against doing then because he wasn't one of the twelve can somebody say amen amen god i love god because god gives us plenty of examples so agaves is not one of the twelve but let's look at what agabus did here let's skip on down 11 let's see oh let's go down verse 27 this is acts 11 verse 27. it says and in these days came prophets i love that plural from jerusalem to antioch and there stood up one of them named agabus and signified by the spirit that there should be a great dearth or a great famine throughout all the world and i love this semicolon i mean colon rather which came to pass in the days of claudius caesar then the disciples every man according
to his ability determined to send relief into the brethren which which dwelt in judea which they did and sent it to elders by the hands of barnabas and saul so here you see that in the early church you see a group of men in jerusalem who are not apostles they're not the twelve we know it says one of them was agabus names him by name calls him a prophet in the new covenant in the new testament in acts chapter 11 long after jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead right so we're well into the new testament now after holy ghost baptism and speaking in tongues and we see god's raised up prophets and one of them's named agabus and what's the first thing we see someone not an apostle do when they stand up to prophesy by the spirit they tell an event that's coming in the near future a famine they warn of something bad that's coming a famine why so that the people the church will get prepared isn't that amazing novel idea that prophecy and prophets should know things ahead of time right so people can prepare let me just define the word for you if you look up the word prophecy it actually takes you back to a root word for of prophets but let me just give you the definition it's very simple um the word prophet simply means an inspired speaker a foreteller so the very definition of prophecy and or of prophets is someone inspired touched influenced moved by the holy spirit and one who also will foretell events before they happen isn't that interesting is that bible is that new testament somebody look at me or not right that's new testament see i'm gonna freak y'all out in a second all right we just we're just laying in fact now let's look at this this agabus fella pops up again in acts 21 a little time later flip on over to acts 21. you all there
verse 8. stay with me now so then the next day we that were of paul's company departed and of course luke is writing this so luke is with him and the next day that we were of paul's company departed and came into caesarea and we entered into the house of philip the evangelist which was one of the seven and abode with him so here we've already seen we've got a prophet now we've got an evangelist now here's what i like says nick and the same man had four daughters virgins which did prophesy uh-oh women women prophesying women i thought women couldn't speak in church well we've that one got taken out of context didn't it a little bit here we got four daughters of an evangelist philip the evangelist who was one of the original elders the deacons in the early church who becomes an evangelist god found him faithful first as a deacon and an elder and then god made him an evangelist and then the man has four daughters and bow the holy spirit is on them obviously they're godly girls they're not sleeping around a little side note and they prophesy again the word meaning inspired by the holy ghost foretelling events now it doesn't say they were prophetesses they can be there's still folks out there that have a problem with women being ministers and preaching and prophesying and i don't have a problem with that you know why i don't have a problem because the bible doesn't have a problem with that and i'm not dumb enough to know when you're taking something out of its context and ignoring a bunch of other passages i know that's a no-no some of them baptists in church of christ folks if you're listening it's a no-no all right so he had four daughters that prophesy verse 10. and as we tarried there many days there came down from judea a certain prophet named agabus and when he was come unto us he took paul's girdle and bound his own hands and feet and said thus saith the holy ghost so shall the jews that jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle and shall deliver him into the hands of the gentiles now i'm going to stop right there we see this man twice in the bible and both times his word of prophecy is not positive right but what i like about this one the first
one the first word of prophecy was a foretelling of an event that would affect the world right and particularly the region in which they live so it was an event that had impact on a region on a nation maybe even they said the whole world but here he comes to a house of philip the evangelist with four daughters who can speak the word of the lord but then this prophet comes from judea named agabus and he doesn't know whose girdle that is he doesn't know whose clothing that is and he picks it up and he says whoever's this is this belongs and you know the spirit of god was just speaking in pick that up and the holy spirit came on he said thus saith the holy spirit being the holy spirit said words to him so shall the man he bound his hands up acting weird i mean it'd be like me coming in taking shari's coat off the thing and bowing my hands up and saying whoever coat this is they're gonna put you in jail you wouldn't like to hear that right but here he comes and what i love about this is his pr his prophetic gift his prophetic word though not positive was on a personal level for one man so here we have a picture through agabus of the ministry of a new testament prophet predictive of things in the future big world events but can be predictive and have revelation about one person now here's what's beautiful let me show this this is where people who are prophetic who are prophets or who operate in the gift of prophecy need to be careful notice that the prophet did not tell paul don't go to jerusalem he never told him what to do he just told him what's going to happen if you do right i love that because see the problem is and let me just say this when you hear from god or when you receive a word a prophetic word from a prophet or from another believer and you you know we have to test all things and to prove whether they're of the lord or not but one thing we have to be careful of you can hear god correctly you can hear exactly what he says exactly what he's revealing but you can still interpret it incorrectly i want you to see where these people around him paul didn't it didn't freak paul out because guess what paul said i already know this the holy spirit had already revealed it to paul it was just a confirmation to him what do the people around him start doing don't go to jerusalem and paul's like keeps telling them
will you stop already i have to go and here's a novel issue in christianity i have to go no matter what happens to me it is god's will for me to go even if i'm beaten even if i'm putting in chains even if they kill me it's god's will for me to go slap that joel osteen gospel right in the face all right i don't know how you have your best life now when you know you're headed to a place and they're going to put you in chains and put you in jail no it's called laying down your life for jesus it's called taking up your cross and following it's called crucifying the flesh it's called doing the will of god when it ain't easy so completely opposite of rick warren and osteen and pope francis y'all don't mind if i name names do you let's read let's let's read it i'm sorry i kind of jumped off my got off my page there what verse was that ah no no yeah okay yeah yeah here we go now my page turn on me he says and when we heard these things both we and they of that place besought him not to go up to jerusalem and then paul answered what being to weep and to break my heart for i am ready not to to be bound only but also to die at jerusalem for the name of the lord jesus and when he would not be persuaded we see saying the will of the lord be done and after those days we took up our carriages and went to jerusalem so again paul knew prophetically that god wanted him to go to jerusalem now how did paul know he was supposed to go to jerusalem was it somewhere written in an old testament passage paul go to jerusalem at this time in history no paul was a man of the word of god he loved the written word of god he studied it he probably knew it better than any of the apostles yet he was a very spirit-led man but listen to me here's what's interesting i love the fact that you see paul who started out the bible says as a teacher and a prophet and who god elevated to become apostles he didn't start out an apostle that's what people people don't get that either he started out being faithful in a church and became a teacher then god graduated him and made him a prophet and then god made him an apostle okay
that's the way it works but paul was faithful in the church but i just love this how paul was humble enough and this is something i don't care how long you've been saved if you're some big fancy apostle or prophet or evangelist or pastor or teacher god will use very ordinary simple people sometimes to give you prophetic words prophetic confirmation i love the kingdom of god about that and somebody said you know i love how these people too they'll tell me well well god could have just spoken it like this well you know what this is what i found out about god nancy and i talked about this yesterday he can tell you plainly i want you to go down this road like he told anna knight go to the street called straight inquired the house and told him what house of who and where you're going to find saul of tarsus he's praying he's seen a vision of a man named ananias coming in and praying for that's pretty specific right god just speaks and gives you great details but then sometimes like with paul we see in acts chapter 16 where paul tried to go to one place and preach the gospel and the holy spirit said no and he tried to go into another place and the holy spirit said no and he tried to go nothing no so he said okay i give up lay down with sleep that night he has a dream he says he and he wakes up and he says i had a dream that we saw a man of macedonia saying come over here and help us now why didn't god just say to paul go to macedonia because god does it the way he wants to do it and he doesn't always make it crystal clear sometimes he wants you to trust him sometimes it's a matter of faith sometimes you have to interpret what you're seeing and what you hear notice in the dream it doesn't say that the man said i'm a man of macedonia come to macedonia and help me didn't say anything about that in the dream he recognized this man he recognizes the ethnicity that he's a man from macedonia and he goes he was saying come over so they said when he woke up he said immediately we gathered that we should go to macedonia of course that's he went there and macedonia was the chief city of what philippi was the chief city there and he went there and a great church was started matter of fact such a great church was started that it became one of the only churches that supported paul's ministry even though he planted many many other a bunch of rebel heathens that wouldn't support him but that church did right oh you mean christians can be rebel heathens yes they can amen amen right i don't know why listen god's going to increase i believe he's
going to increase to those that are hungry and those that are thirsty and those that want it god's going to increase prophetic revelation it's not always going to come the way you think it should come and this is something you need to listen to me this is why i harp on as a pastor and a teacher part of me harps on read the word study the word know the word of god get it down in you because i know this that if you don't have a solid foundation in the written word you don't have a strong knowledge of it as strong as you can get it's more easily for you to be deceived by the devil or to misinterpret what god is saying to you now i'll give you an example anybody can misinterpret i remember when you know back a year before pope benedict resigned i had a dream where i saw in the dream it was it was technicolor man it was in hd it was so crystal clear and vivid it was like i was watching a movie and i saw this towering figure that was looked like he was seven or eight feet tall except and he and he was he was death warmed over i mean it just looked like a skeleton with that you know how the the roman catholics keep these corpses around for centuries and they're just look dried leathery skin on them but they look you know and but he was seven or eight feet tall he's huge but he had on this red robe with the ordinate gold embroidery and all this stuff on it and and he was walking and he was having to have two and i saw two priests shorter smaller but two roman catholic priests try holding him up by each arm okay and this dream was so crystal clear and i'm going to tell you man you want to talk about walking skeletor death right i mean but he was alive but he was walking death right so i wake up from this dream and i'm just like what in the world and get up get ready go to work me and kevin are working together that day and i'm telling him about this dream and i'm like what in the world what's that about and i'm sitting there going it had to be and as i stood there thinking about it i'm like that towering figure that larger than life figure was the pope and then i said the priests were having to hold him up and then i just jumped to this conclusion oh that must mean he's the pope's going to die so when i initially wrote down what i think i said
i think the pope is going to die soon i think that's what the lord was showing me because right after that there was a video of him going into the saint peter's basilica to do something some service or mass or something they were going to have and two priests were on each side of him having to escort him and is exactly what i saw because he was so feeble he couldn't walk without assistance and so it was exactly what i saw in the dream but i jumped to conclusions and what later i had to realize and i went back and i changed it before now before any of this happened i went back and i changed it and i said you know what my dream in my dream he wasn't dead yet so i kind of jumped the gun see in my own my interpretation of what i saw now the dream the prophetic dream speaks for itself right he was so feeble he needed assistance what i got from the dream was he wouldn't be pope much longer but i assumed he would die you see what i'm saying how easy it is to misinterpret but i did go back and i said he will either die or he will resign i'm not sure what that part means but in my dream he was still alive and so of course what ended up happening a year following that was that he did resign i mean he was so feeble he said he felt like he couldn't do the job i know there were other underlying reasons i think he was about to be indicted for the child molestation cases so he went into hiding in the exile in the vatican where he would never leave or he'll be arrested but he was feeble and he did step down the first time a pope did that in 600 years but i had a guy recently tell me that that wasn't specific enough prophecy i said well hmm god shows me a pope's either going to die or step down and that the stepping down part if it hadn't happened in 600 years i guess that's not specific enough for you right but you get what i'm saying i use as an example be careful i know i saw a pastor one time great guy good pastor loved him uh sincere genuine but his assembly of god background blocked him from accepting the teaching that a christian can have a demon and need deliverance from the demon and he he just was hung up in his old teaching in old theology and he even came against me we were friends but he even came against me publicly um over because back then this was back in the early 90s and i was teaching on deliverance not in his church mind you i was in a church in montgomery but so many people from his church and people that we both knew would you know and we were doing deliverance and so you know i was you know christians were having problems and demons would start
manifesting we cast them out and you know and finally he just said you know i don't want you he even called us in so i don't want you doing this in your church i said i never have i said i don't know what you're talking about i said but i never have done it in your church i would never disrespect your authority and he went huh it was like it just didn't dawn on him i said i go to church in montgomery alabama that's where we do the deliverances he's like oh okay then he takes you know dr rebecca brown's book at the time he came and said the captain's free that taught on deliverance and spiritual warfare and in front of everybody he threw that book on the floor and he goes he goes uh now this is i don't believe this is just nonsense well when everybody left it was just me and him he goes i believe she's got some revelation i just don't i just don't get it you know something like that for that effect here's what's funny i visited his church a few months later right and i'm sitting in the congregation and he talked about he had to drive to atlanta and so he was about you know had about a two three hour drive one time and he said he was praying in tongues the entire way and this man was a praying man he was a godly man he's praying in tongues the whole way and let me just tell you when you pray in tongues for a long time and you pray like the bible says and you pray for the interpretation god's gonna speak to you because you're building up your spirit and uh it's important to pray in tongues and pray that god will give you the interpretation of those tongues you'll start hearing god speak he'll start giving you revelation so anyway he's praying in tongues all the way you know two three hour trip he's praying in tongues to atlanta and he said from the pulpit i'm sitting there on like the second or third row and and he says that the lord spoke to him while he's driving and said son you have some open doors and i'm sitting there going yeah you do you got a whole heap of them from that path to yours buddy boy and you need deliverance from him you know what his interpretation of that was he didn't understand it but at the end of the service he said we just all need to pray close we need to close some doors lord we ask you to close some doors we closed them he knew what he was doing the lord was communicating to him no you have some open doors to the demonic you need deliverance you need to listen to what dean's been telling you and some of these others have been telling you but he couldn't interpret he was hearing god correctly but his theology and his own mindset blocked him from understanding it this is for somebody today be very very careful in this regard sometimes it's better to wait be very patient and let god confirm it or clarify it before you jump
right i have the lord telling me something right now but i'm having to wade through a swampy mess to let it kind of work its way out and figure it out okay i love what paul said first corinthians 13 in the middle of the two chapters about the gifts he says this he said for now we see through a glass darkly but then when jesus comes we'll see him face to face and we'll know everything clearly but now we have to see bits and pieces and parts first corinthians 13 toward the end of the chapter there look at this go go back to numbers i love this numbers chapter 12. can i just say that christianity gets fun or shall we say interesting when you start hearing from god and doing what he tells you it won't always be easy it'll shake things up sometimes but it's a whole lot better than just sitting on the on the pew or on the chair every sunday morning and doing nothing amen oh let me see what i say numbers chapter 12 i need to get there i tell y'all turn somewhere and then i i get to talking again oh numbers chapter 12. all right let's leave let's read this i love this and mariam and aaron spake against moses because of the ethiopian woman whom he had married for he had married an ethiopian woman now here i find this funny because of course it didn't bother god that he married an ethiopian woman because he was married to her before god called him to go deliver the children of israel from egypt so obviously didn't bother god but all of a sudden now after the red sea and miracles and all that stuff folks get all in an uproar about weird things right happens in church all the time and they said hath the lord indeed spoken only by moses has he not spoken by us also and the lord heard it now before i go any further let me just say this when god starts speaking to you or you start operating in the gifts the biggest danger the next biggest danger besides being deceived or making a mistake is pride oh god's talking to me i don't need to go to church anymore and listen to pastor dean or i don't need to i don't need to do that anymore i got this
there's a lot of people out there i don't need church i don't need a pastor i don't need elders i don't a lot of people don't go to church anymore i got me and god i got this god doesn't only speak to that leader he speaks to me too so i don't need church well you're disobeying god so have fun with that that little spirit of rebellion you live in you're going to get all kind of deceiving spirits talking to you right but verse 3 says now the man moses was very meek above all the men on the face of the earth and the lord spake suddenly unto moses and aaron unto miriam come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation and the three came out you know i wonder if the humility hit them when the lord comes down and says you three come here you know when the glory cloud comes down and says oh i ain't here to make you feel good come over here it's time for a weapon it says then the lord came down in the pillar of the cloud and stood at the door of the tabernacle and called aaron and miriam and they both came forth and he said hear now my words if there be a prophet among you if i love how the lord does that y'all think you hear from me i can in that right quick like right if there's a prophet among you i the lord jehovah will make myself known unto him in a vision and i will speak unto him in a dream my servant moses is not so who is faithful in all my house with him i will speak mouth to mouth even apparently and not in dark speeches and the similitude of the lord shall he behold wherefore then were you not afraid to speak against my servant moses and the anger of the lord was kindled against them and he departed and of course we know miriam was struck with leprosy and the cloud departed off the tabernacle god stepped back so pride and arrogance you start hearing from god you start operating in the gifts you start growing spiritually and becoming more sensitive to the lord be careful because the next attack is going to be pride the next attacks i don't need elders i don't need leaders i don't need church i don't need praise and worship i don't need this i don't need that i'm good an attitude toward leader true leadership and an attitude toward the church already shows something is wrong wrong wrong in your heart right now let's just do this go with me go to john 16 we're gonna go two more passages at least notice i said at least
john 16. are you there i love what jesus says to his disciples but of course you know of course there are people say oh that was only to them not to us but all scripture is given by inspiration of god and is profitable for doctrine right all scripture all right here's what he says jesus speaking verse 12 he said i have yet many things to say unto you but you cannot bear them now now that if you look that up he says i have many things to say but you can't grasp them now can i just tell you that there's many many things that god wants to say to you and show you and do with your life there are things that he wants you to operate in but he's like you can't grasp them now because some of you will not get in prayer you will not get in the word you will not feed your soul and your spirit the the word of god and the things you need and god's sitting there saying i want to do greater things in you i want to speak and reveal and work in you in greater measure he said but you can't grasp him now but listen what he said here's here's here's the good part of it how be it when he the spirit of truth is come he will guide you into all truth for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak and he will show you things to come wow here's what he's saying he tells his disciples i have many things i want to say to you many things i want to reveal to you but i can't right now because you just can't get it maybe you just you know maybe some things for a day ahead when you're a little more mature but he says this here's what it takes but when the spirit of god comes upon you then when you let him have his way when you cry out to be filled when you cry out to be anointed when you cry to be baptized in the holy ghost with evidence of speaking in other tongues when you cry out say god let me prophesy god let me interpret my tongues when you get hungry and you covet the gifts and desire the gifts and desire intimacy with him and to hear his voice and to be led by the spirit meaning i'll do whatever you want me to do i'll go wherever you want me to go i'll say whatever you want me to say even if it's difficult
he says when the spirit comes on you he will guide you into truth praise god praise god i can tell you a 26-year testimony god keeps leading me into more and more truth of his word and what's going on in the world and what he's about to do still learning still growing still being led into truth by the holy spirit nothing better than that amen if he left us alone we'd be deceived and in the air if we walk away from his spirit his word we're going to be deceived in an error but if you stick with him he will be faithful he will guide you into all truth he'll lead you away from air and deception false prophets and false teachers if you'll just stick with the word of god and you'll stick with the holy spirit and you'll continue to cry out to be filled and led into truth i mean one of the prayers i pray all the time i say lord speak to me open my eyes let me see the truth of everything in front of me open my eyes let me behold wonderful things out of your give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge that the eyes of my understanding will be enlightened i pray that prayer all the time and have for years and god is so faithful to show me what i need to see and sometimes he shows it to me directly from me and him in the word and him talking to me but sometimes he uses some other preacher or some other christian that's what i'm saying you got to be humble god will bring prophetic word revelation and truth to you sometimes directly but sometimes through somebody else sometimes through somebody else that you may not even like and then while i'm saying that and before i go any further here let me just say this you want your mind blown this is where christians especially now a bunch of goofballs god can speak through somebody not even saying can you hear him if he speaks to you through a pagan he said what are you talking about pastor dean see that's part of we had a yeah y'all need to go on to you know ministries we had a what 50 comment almost discussion all about this rabbi recently in the last few years this rabbi named yitzhak kaduri he lived to be 108 years old i think he died in 2007 i think it was 269 something like that 2008 maybe but he was 108 years old he was one of the most revered rabbis in israel okay now he was a pagan y'all understand he was into the kabbalah he was a he was a mystic all right he was an occultic
mystic the kabbalah is the same thing as a christian getting into the new age movement okay and being jewish and being a rabbi right he did not believe that jesus christ was the jewish messiah he did not believe it he rejected it his entire life he taught against it yet he taught that there would be a messiah would come a jewish messiah to save israel he taught about a messiah but that teaching was all convoluted and was really setting people up to receive the coming false messiah the antichrist right so his whole life he believed the wrong thing he taught the wrong thing he dabbled in the occult world but he was the most loved one of the most he was a he was a a teacher he was a what they call a master i mean he uh was was revered look when 250 000 people show up at your funeral on the streets in a very small country you're pretty well-known dude you're pretty respected individual right now would i go to this man he was into all kind of occultic practices would i have gone to this man no but here's what happened all right world worldnetdaily has put out a book on this they're one of the most credible news agencies and christian news agencies too in the world they put out a book they put out a movie but this is what happened [Music] right before rabbi katuri died they said he was in prayer and when he came out of prayer or came out of this season of being in prayer he told everyone that the messiah had appeared to him and that the that the messiah had appeared to men revealed his name to him and he said he the messiah told him that he was coming soon and he said the messiah also told him that it would be after prime minister ariel sharon had died but when this rabbi after that he wouldn't tell anyone and i believe that the spirit of god that that this thing happened but he he said he wrote the name secretly he wrote the name of the messiah on a piece of paper in his handwriting sealed it in an envelope and told his followers and his family do not open this until a year after i'm passed away so right after he says this that the messiah had appeared to him the messiah revealed his name that the messiah had said after ariel sharon dies that's after that's when i'll i'll be coming

well that couldn't be from god that prophecy of ariel sharon means nothing and aeria sharon just passed away yesterday and yet me as a christian see i can look at that and i can see god talking why because i know all the other scriptures that we are close it's just another signpost don't tell me god can't god speak through a donkey if you're not listening yeah in the bible baby donkey was talking all right here let me give you another one cornelius acts chapter 10 cornelius is not a born again christian he's not saved he is a pagan roman now he starts seeking after the true god but he is not saved and yet an angel of the lord appears to him tells him to call for simon peter that he's got something to tell him so the centurion cornelius sends messengers to go get simon peter simon peter is on the rooftop having a vision from god that he doesn't understand and then these guys show up at his door and the holy spirit says go with them he still doesn't understand the vision he just had he doesn't understand this roman centurion had an angel appear to it's it's pandemonium cats and dogs living together right makes no sense he gets there he realizes that he's there to preach the gospel that an angel of god has set up a gospel meeting for he preaches jesus they all get saved before he can give an altar call they all get baptized in the holy ghost speaking in tongues before he can lay hands on him and pray for him he goes now i understand when this is the first time the gentiles are receiving the gospel and getting saved he said now i understand the vision i had listen sometimes you won't even understand the dream the vision the words you get you just step out there and let god lead you sometimes it has you have to figure it out later this is real christianity this is not something that was just for peter and paul and john james my sheep hear my voice and they follow me i am the lord and i change not amen god wants you to hear god wants you to see god wants you to discern god wants you to prophesy god wants you to know things before they happen god wants you to discern wolves in sheep's clothing god wants you to do all these things it's for you amen
i love where moses said i don't even remember where it is now probably deuteronomy about 32 33 somewhere but moses said that would to god that all his people were prophets what was he saying he had the heart of god that all of god's people would hear from him and be intimate with him isn't that good listen don't let don't let any church don't let any commentary in your bibles or theologian shake you from the word amen listen the days are coming ahead of us that is imperative that you hear what god is saying it's imperative you pay attention to your dreams it's imperative you spend time in prayer so you may have a vision or a word it's imperative that you pray in tongues so that you may build up your spirit and become sensitive there are things that will save your life in the days ahead if you listen there will things that will set you up to lead many people to to the lord if you'll listen amen miracles you know nearly every miracle i've ever seen was from hearing something that god said to do or to say and a miracle happened remember the lady was in the wheelchair that time it wasn't i could have prayed until i was blue in the face and she was still sat in that wheelchair she hadn't walked in two years crippled with arthritis crippled not able to walk and the lord spoke to me as i had my hands laid on her and this is what the lord said he said tell her that i said for her to rise up and walk it wasn't my words it wasn't from my mind and i said mary elizabeth the lord told me to tell you that he said for you to rise up and walk and she got up and walked amen the power of god comes from what you hear from him
i love what what pastor young each other i remember dr larry lee talking about that he asked youngie cho one time you know young he chose the pastor of the largest church in the history of the world about one million active members right and he said what's your secret dr cho what's your secret of success how did you build such a great church a praying church a spirit-filled church how did you build such an awesome church and chose he said he sat back in his chair south korean joker started laughing just ha ha ha ha he's like what this is crazy man dude and he said dr cho stopped and looked at he said i pray and i obey i start laughing again that's no that's it i pray i do what god tells me to do novel idea let's pray thank you jesus hallelujah father what an awesome thing that we can know you what an awesome thing that you have opened the door through jesus to give us access to the holy of holies to hear your voice to be filled with your spirit to be led by your spirit lord nothing better in this world lord i thank you for truth lord i just i stand in awe of how awesome it is to be able to know the creator to know the reason that i was created to have fellowship to know that i'm loved to know that i have a heavenly father who cares about me who wants the best for my life who has wisdom and knows what i ought to do what an awesome thing that we don't have to be comfortless and alone in this world that's for somebody right there listening you felt alone because you're not intimate with the heavenly father you felt alone because you've rebelled and resisted the heavenly father and he's got a plan for you and he wants to take care of you but it's going to be his way and as soon as you give up and surrender to his way you're going to find that he's there to comfort you you're going to find that intimacy and that peace that comes from knowing him
father we thank you for that i love what jesus said in john 17 3 that this is eternal life that they might know thee the only true god in jesus christ who now sent eternal life in heaven is about knowing you being a christian a normal christian is about hearing you and being led by you or help us do that in jesus name amen
