They didn't take your life, Lord. You laid it down willingly and then you rose from the dead. You are the King of Kings. You promised also that you would return in like manner. The day is coming you will return. Lord, we ask for strength, wisdom, discernment, guidance. Lord, we live in an age of deception and evil. Lord, even you told us it would be unprecedented time of evil and deception. Lord, we just want to walk in the truth. Want to be led by the Holy Spirit. So lead us and guide us into all truth. Lord, give us understanding of your word. Let us hear your voice. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Thank you. God bless. Go ahead and give the Lord praise this morning. Yeah. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Glory to God. Good to see everybody this morning. Welcome everybody to Fire and Grace Church. Those watching and listening.

  7. And boy, I tell you what, we never know who's watching and listening. You'd be surprised sometimes what we find out who's watching and listening. Um, I want everybody to take your Bibles this morning. We got to go through a few verses uh today before I get into a a list of definitions, but we're going to we're going to get into the word. But I've simply entitled this today, and you guys can start it up there, and I'll take control later on when we get back to the PowerPoint because I have them put up quite a few scriptures, but I just entitled this today, Loving Jesus. Uh, you know, we think we know what that means, don't we? And just remember, everything in your flesh nature, your carnal nature wants to take you away from this. The whole world system is designed to try to take you away from this. Um, even now it's easy with all the things going on in the world to get our eyes on those things and let this slip away. You know, I'm going to quote James 4 verse 7 and 8. Y'all can put that up. James 4:7 and 8. I've quoted this many times and something I've said many times as well. It's never a question of God loving us. The question is always, do we love him? But this passage, this these two scriptures have always been two of my favorite. Submit yourselves therefore to God. That means 100%. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. A lot of people like to just quote that part. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. But if you don't get the first part right, you're not going to be able to do the second part. And then he says this, "Draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh to you." Now, what does that look like right there? Does that look like his responsibility first or your responsibility first? Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. I'm going to tell you this right. He didn't say draw near to all the news that's going on. You hear me? He said, "Draw near to God and he will draw near to you." Now, everybody knows when Jesus laid down the first two commandments, and what are they? Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Right? And then love your neighbor as yourself. And we're going to talk about that a little bit, but I want you to go with me now to Luke 22. Luke chapter 22. And we're going to go down to

  8. we're going to start in verse 22. Now Jesus had just they just had the last supper. He had just explained to them the bread representing his body that was broken for them and the blood of the new testament of the new covenant. And verse well actually we back up to verse 21 and he says but behold the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table and truly the son of man goeth as it was determined. But woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed. And they began to acquire among themselves which of them it was uh that should do this thing. And there was also a strife among them uh which would be accounted the greatest. Now I want to jump down to verse 31. Now the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have you that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not, and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee both into prison and to death. And Jesus said to him, I tell thee, Peter, the shall not crow this day, before thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me. Then what's interesting is they had the discussion about the script and the swords. And let's read that. And it says, "And when he said unto them, when I sent you without purse and script, and shoes, lack ye anything, and they said nothing. Then said he un them, but now he that hath a purse, let him take it. And likewise his script, and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me." And he was reckoned among the transgressors, for the things concerning me have an end. And they said, 'Lord, behold, here are two swords.' He said to them, "It is enough." Now, I find it interesting. The disciples were carrying swords. Right? People have problem that I talk about we should carry guns, but uh they were carrying the best weapon of the day at that time. And I want you I'm giving you the context of this because you have to understand Jesus just told them, "Somebody's going to be betraying me." Well, that's not good news. Then he had actually told them that he was going to be taken, captured, he was going to be killed, all those things when you put the gospels together. So all of this is rolling around in their head and then Peter's like, "Lord, I'm I'm ready to go with you to the death." And the Lord goes, "No." But if you remember when they came to get Jesus, Peter pulled the sword out and was ready to fight. He was a fisherman, not a soldier.

  9. And I believe he was swinging at the guy's head and just got caught his ear. Now, you have to understand with Peter, and I'm bringing this to you because of this reason. I have no doubt that Peter's intentions were right. I have no doubt that Peter loved Jesus and I have no doubt that Peter was willing to die for Jesus right then and there. He had already left everything to follow him. But let me tell you why this had to happen the way it had to happen. Because with us, we can be born again. We can know we are saved and we can anybody ask us we would say yeah we love Jesus but a lot of times we do love the Lord but it's it's there's a lot of other things crowded in there. You get what I'm saying? We got kind of a cluttered room we'd say. And the Lord doesn't like that cluttered room. He wants it cleaned out and we just love him. And you know, sometimes again, it's easy to go, well, you know, we love the Lord for maybe what he's done for us. Well, that's good. Or we love the Lord for what he can do to help us. And what he's trying to do is sift all that out of there so that we just love him because we love him. Whether or not things go the way we think they ought to go. Can you imagine Jesus looking at you and going, "No, you think you're ready for all this, but you're going to deny you even know me." I wonder what Peter was thinking about that. But here's what's wild. He was warned that it was going to happen and couldn't stop it. You know why? Because it was in him. And this is what I want to say before we get into this deeper today is what the why the Lord laid this on my heart is because just like that time of crisis that Peter came into. I just gave all of my life. I've gave over three years of my life to this. I have followed this man all over the country. Our lives are in danger now. He's telling me that he's going to be captured. He's going to be killed. and we're just supposed to let this happen. Now, you got to understand he was in a he was in a full crisis because they didn't understand what Jesus was doing allowing this to happen so that he could go to the cross for us. They didn't

  10. understand that. They didn't understand that he would rise from the dead. They didn't understand what we know now, right? But here's what this reveals or should reveal to us. that no matter how much we think we love Jesus, when the room's full of a lot of other things, the moment the crisis hits, we find out where we really are. We find out we're not all that in the bag of chips, right? Because really, they were arguing among themselves about who was going to be the greatest. All that revealed was they were a bunch of prideful maniacs that didn't have their priorities straight. And some people say that everybody thinks that Peter won the argument of who would be the greatest among them. And you think about that they're doing all this while Jesus is trying to explain to them, "Hey guys, somebody tonight's going to betray me. I'm going to be captured. I'm going to be killed. You're all going to be scattered like sheep. You would think that arguing about who would be the greatest would not be the priority of the evening. But what this shows you is that those group of men that did love Jesus still had a lot of junk in their lives that was crowding out pure love for Jesus. And let me tell you this, I learned this years ago that even ministry doing ministry doesn't mean you love Jesus doesn't mean that the room's not crowded with other things instead of just loving him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. A lot of times, again, people are doing ministry not for the Lord or for others. They're doing it for themselves. That's just a fact. And really, to tell you the truth, I've discovered that it's good for any young minister at some point to have everything stripped from them. I had it all stripped from me years ago. And to tell you the truth, I wouldn't have learned this lesson because if somebody would have told me, "Hey, Pastor Dean, you're going to lose everything and you're going to be out of the ministry for several years and you're going to wrestle with heaviness and depression and discouragement beyond what you could even imagine. And you know, actually the Lord did tell me this. You know, I started writing a book in 1999 and then I wrote a little more of it in

  11. 2004. Then I wrote a little more in 2000. I've never finished it. Got about 16 chapters in a spiritual warfare deliverance book. But what blew my mind, I looked at it again a few months ago, and I happened to read the beginning of it, which I wrote in 1999. Okay. And I had forgotten that the Lord told me in 1999, "The next 10 years of your life are going to be extremely difficult." I wrote that down. That's not a word you want. And let me tell you, it was 10 years exactly to the point that God began to restore everything that I had lost. And that 10 years You want to talk about finding out everything that was in the room with me that didn't need to be in the room? Because when Satan gets a hold of you and the Lord lets him and he starts sifting, you know what sifting is, right? We're going to find out what's in there. Every bad thing, we're going to shake it out. We're going to find out what's in there. We're going to But we're going to There's some good in there, too, right? I remember my grandma always used to sift the flour before she made biscuits every time. And you would think, "Oh, that flour's fine." Oh, she'd sift it. She'd find crap in it, right? Every time she'd sift the bad stuff out. And this is why the Lord allows these periods where he says, you know, Satan's desire to have you, Peter, that he might sift you his wheat. I think, oh boy. Nobody wants to hear Satan's going to have you for a little bit. Going to allow him to do these things to you because we got to shake all this bad stuff out of the room. It has to happen. You think, why do I why do I go from one trial to the next or one difficulty to the next or one struggle to the next? Because the Lord's trying to shake all the bad stuff out, all the stuff that's distractions, all the stuff that can be idols. Why? Because just like they had their moment of crisis when Jesus went through the whole being arrested and beaten and crucified and we're going to have our own crisis or I should say crisis, right? But there's a big one coming. There's a big one coming from the for the whole world. And the Bible says that this big tribulation that's coming really means a testing. He said it's going to try the whole world.

  12. Everyone's going to be tested and sifted and pressed beyond what you can even imagine now. And you sit here and you might think, "Oh, I love Jesus and I'm ready for that. I will stand firm. I will not falter, fall, trip, do anything. I'm going to stand for Jesus even if they put my head in guillotine." Really? Do you know that? Let me tell you the attitude. You better take You better recognize that your human nature, your carnal nature is against you and may fully arise and betray you and get you to do the very thing that you don't want to do. I believe Peter did not want to deny the Lord, but he couldn't help himself. He couldn't stop it. And the Lord was going to allow it. And if Peter humbles himself and admits it, then guess what? He can be converted again, meaning brought back. But how many of you know that that incident changed Peter forever? He found out he better watch his cocky mouth. He better watch his prideful attitude. And he better make sure that there's not a bunch of other motives and things in the room clouding his relationship with Jesus. Y'all hear me? This is the battle of every true born again Christian we're going to have because the devil will make sure that the room gets crowded with stuff and then just life happens. difficulties, work, children, relationships, all this stuff happens. And it's all designed to make you not love Jesus with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. That's it. Go with me now to John, the Gospel of John, chapter 21. I talked about this a few weeks ago, this part, this story here. After Jesus rose from the dead and he appeared to them in Galilee. We can go back to my title page real quick.

  13. They were fishing because they didn't know what else to do. See, at this point, they didn't know what to do. They knew Jesus had risen from the dead. He'd appeared to them. They knew some things, but they were just like, "We don't know what to do now. So, I don't know if it's Peter Williams." Said, "Let's just go fishing. It's what we know to do. So, we'll go fishing." And they went fishing, and Jesus appeared on the beach. And of course, when they come to shore, Peter's the first one to shore. But let's go to verse 15. This is John 21:15. Well, verse 14. It says, "Now this is the third time that Jesus showed himself to his disciples after that he was risen from the dead. And so when they had died, Jesus said, saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonah, lovest thou me more than these?" And he saith unto him, "Yay, you Lord, thou knowest that I love thee." And he saith unto him, "Feed my lambs." And of course, Jesus asks as asked him this three times. Now, I'm not going to read it again, but last time I focused on feeding the sheep, but this time I want to focus on the question Jesus asked him, "Do you love me?" Three times. Now, we know why he asked him three times. Because how many times did Peter deny him? Right. What's interesting is if you look at the Greek words, he uses agape. Do you agape me? And the Lord says, "Yes, Lord. You know I do." Okay. Ask him again, "Do you agape me?" And then he asked him, "Do you fileo?" Which is even a less kind of love. It's more of a friendship kind of love. It's not the total God kind of love. And he asked me, "Do you even love me that way?" And by this time since Peter, Peter was like, "Lord, you know, you know." So he tells him, "Feed my lambs." Now go with me to First John chapter 2. 1 John 2. And I was asking the Lord back there during worship, Lord, is there a word you have for our church today, not just the message you've given me, but like a word and the Lord brought this passage to my mind. So the Lord added this a minute ago, but this is verse 15 where he says this, "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the father is not in him. For all that is in the world is the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. These are not of the father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof, but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.

  14. Everybody see that? Now, I'm going to tell you, this ought to be preached in every church in America over and over and over again. Love not the world. What is he talking about there? The world system, the money, the finances, the accolades, the praise of men, the whole system, the entertainment, the whole n. He's like, don't love that. Now the word agape is used here when it says love not meaning like that's your total heart. You understand that's when the room is crowded and it's so crowded with with the world. Remember when he talked about the ser who swed the seed and he said one of them is swed among thorns and it began to grow. But it says the lust of other things, the deceitfulness of riches. Bible tells us as to be good soldiers to not be what? Completely tied up with the things of this life. Right? This is something again where everything else everything has to be examined in my life. Are these idols? Are these interferences with my relationship with Jesus? Do I love the world and the lust of the eyes and the lust of the f flesh and the pride of this life? Do I love those things? You know, that's why, you know, you know, you want to kill some religious pride, just start preaching biblical cosmology, right? You're not looking for the accolades of the world system or mankind or even most of Christianity. Just preaching the truth of creation. You understand? This is why it's interesting that he he puts in here, love not the world, neither the things that are in the world, lust of the flesh, lust of the highest pride of life. Then he says what? But he that doeth the will of God abides forever. This is again what he told Peter. All right, Peter, do you love me? Yes, I do, Lord. Well, then your job, Peter, is feed my sheep and feed my lambs. Do my will. You don't get to do your will anymore about anything. Right? And what we see about Peter is we see a life after this because we can look at the book of Acts. We can look at church history and we can see that Peter no longer lived for himself ever. He did the will of God. He wasn't perfect, but he did the will of God for his life. To the point. Now, this is

  15. what I want to get to. Let's go to first I'm sorry, not first but second Peter chapter 1. And this is where we're going to park for a minute. I bring you through this little story here, this little introduction of Peter because by the time he writes second Peter, second Peter is when he's writing his last words, when he knows his life is about to be over. here on this earth. His ministry, he's about to die. He tells you in this, "I know I'm about to to die. He was crucified in Rome by the Roman Emperor. But this is after many years. This is after decades of ministry, after decades of walking with Jesus, after decades of being faithful of loving Jesus and doing his will. Here's what Peter instructs all of us. Y'all ready for this? After this, after we read the these beginning verses, get ready for the definitions we're going to go through. I got about 19 screenshots of definitions we're going to go through because it's important. I want you to see this. But let's go to verse uh second Peter 1 verse one. Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our savior Jesus Christ. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature. Boy, that right there is good stuff. Might be though. Somebody say might be. Might be. Well, pay attention to those might and maze, right? He said, "Having escaped the corruption of the world is through lust." And he says, "Beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith." Somebody say, "Add to my faith." Add to my faith. Virtue to virtue knowledge and to knowledge temperance. And to temperance, patience. And to patience, godliness. and to godliness brotherly kindness and to brotherly kindness charity. For if Jordan, if these things be in you, and not just be in you, abound, if these things be in you and abound, they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  16. But he that lackth these things is blind, this is spiritual blindness, and cannot see a far off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Now, what does that mean? He has drifted away from the place of understanding how glorious it was to have the sins forgiven. Think about that right there. I remember when I first came got saved, I was so, you know, I just came out of a bunch of sin. So when you come out of it, right, because you've been convicted and because you've realized what it was doing to you and you find out Jesus just forgave you of all that and washed it away, took it away from you. Boy, let me tell you something. I was happy about that. Amen. But then you walk with Jesus for 30 years, 40 years. And if you're not careful, you forget about those beginning days. Let's keep reading. He says, "Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure. For if For if you do these things, you shall never fall. For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And then he says, "Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though you know them and be established in the present truth. Yay, I think it meat or right as long as I am in this tabernacle to stir you up by putting you in remembrance, knowing that shortly I must put off this tabernacle, talking about his body, even as the Lord Jesus Christ has showed me. Moreover, I will endeavor that you may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. So, you know, a man that knows he's about to die is really careful with his last words. Now, understand this. Now, I want you to see, we're going to look at these right here because I want you to understand this. He said, if if he says, "If these things be in you and abound, you're getting in to the everlasting kingdom. But if you lack these things, you're blind. You cannot see a far off. You've left your first love. But don't let that happen. Make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, and the word do is a present tense Greek verb. Ongoing continuous action taking place in the pres. if you do these things, you're going to make it.

  17. And he says, I know I'm about to die, but I'm going to make sure that you have these things so you will be remembered of this after I die. So, let's see this. He says, "Add to faith." You have faith. You were born again. You repented of your sin. You believe Jesus died for your sins and rose from the dead. You believe he's God in the flesh. You believe the gospel. You believe the word of God. He says this. What? Maybe I need to turn it on. He says, "Add to your faith what?" Virtue. Maybe we get here. So virtue and you know I look these up again and you know if I would have uh just done this by memory I remembered that this word um arete or however you say it arete me moral excellence. Somebody say moral excellence. First thing you're supposed to add to your faith, moral excellence. That means get the sin out of your life. That means get the immorality out of your life, sexual immorality, and everything else. But what's interesting is that this word also means manliness in the sense of valor. And I looked this up here because I thought that's interesting because we live in an age where manliness is hated. But notice what valor means here. Great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle. So you have to understand, we can back up real quick. Let me back up to that one right there. Moral excellence is more than just getting the sin out of your life. You have to be morally excellent because the battle that we're in is over morality. The battle that we're in, the world is headed into wickedness. Everything's okay in the world system from homosexual. I know they're trying to make pedophilia okay, but everything in the world system is fine. But we have to have the courage, the strength, the manliness to step it up and to not care what the whole system thinks. See, they can think I'm crazy. They can call me a homophobe, an Islamophobe. They can call me every name in the book.

  18. Stupid, ignorant, insane, crazy. Guess what? Three words. I don't care. And I will not shut up. I will preach homosexuality is sin, an abomination. If you practice homosexuality and die in that sin, you will go to hell for all eternity. If you are in fornication, premarital sex, and you are habitually in that and you never repent and stop, you will die in your sins and go to hell. If you are an idoltor and worship Mary, the popes, the saints, and whatever else, praying to other people, dead people or whatever, if you keep doing that as an idoltor, the Bible says no idoltor will inherit the kingdom of heaven. If you die in your sins as a habitual idoltor, you will not go to heaven. And I could keep going down the list. Witchcraft, hatred, unforgiveness. You have to have moral excellence. You cannot compromise with this world system. I will never say abortion is okay. Homosexuality is okay. Transgenderism is okay. I will never say those things are okay because they're not. God has a moral standard that he has revealed to mankind. And he expects us that when we have true faith in Jesus that the next thing that better get added if we have the Holy Spirit is the desire and move in the direction of moral excit excellence and it's going to take great strength [snorts] and courage to stand up against the whole world if you have to one billion Catholics I don't care Catholicism Islam is a cult. It's a false religion. It's a system of idolatry. Islam is of the devil. Amen. It's an antichrist religion. Muhammad was a pedophile and a murderer. And a false prophet. Oh, Pastor De, you can't say those. Yes, I can. because I'm not afraid and I will never back down. God has a standard and he expects his people to pursue that, to live it, and to speak it and to not be ashamed of it in any way. Well, y'all about almost as quiet as Lutheran today. Almost.

  19. I heard an amen out there. Great courage in the face of danger. Let's go to this word. He says after he says add to your faith virtue, he says add knowledge. Nosis is the Greek word. Knowledge signifies in general intelligence and understanding the general knowledge of the Christian religion. We should say the foundational doctrines of Christianity. A deeper, more perfect and enlarged knowledge of this religion of Christianity such as belong to the more advanced uh especially understanding the things lawful and unlawful for Christians. New covenant righteousness, understanding what is expected of us, moral wisdom such as seen in right living. All right. And then he says here, let's this is interesting. The Strongs definition says knowing the act knowledge science. Can I pause for a second? Science is something you can observe that you can measure and that you can repeat the experiment. It's not theoretical. You understand? Theoretical is making crap up. But true science is what we can observe, what we can measure and then what we can repeat. No Christian is against true science, true science. There is pseudocience, false science that we're against. We didn't come from monkeys. We didn't come from a big bang. We don't live in an ever expanding universe. All the stuff you've been told, theoretical physics, astro. Oh god, the what was the latest one? Oh yeah, a planet shaped like a lemon that's made of diamonds. Yeah, they did. They know that, right? They know that. They can see it from billions of light years away and they can tell you what it is, what it's made out of. And if you believe that because it's the science, right? No, it's not the science. It's crap they make up that artists draw for you. None of those things are p pictures of anything. But you believe it because they told you so. They told you it was science and you can't question the science, right? But I thought science was what you actually that all of science was about questioning science, right? But no, remember you couldn't question the science on the vaccine. Now we know it's killing everybody. Well, we knew it back then.

  20. Oh, don't question the science. Trust the science. Trust the science. Well, problem is I don't trust you. Fouchy Jesuit globalist Bill Gates. When Bill Gates told you that they wanted 10 years ago, well, no, longer than 10 years ago, what is it? 16 years ago now, 2010, when Bill Gates said, "We're going to lower the population of the world through new vaccines." Should have got your attention. Right. And so, a new vaccine comes out and you h they've been talking about lowering the population with these things. We're finding out that the vaccine sterilizes people. It's done all kinds of stuff. The whole it was designed to lower the population of the world. Tried to tell y'all, "Oh, y'all are conspiracy theorists. Trust the science." What science? What 10-year study was safety study was done? 70, what was it? 75,000 documents from Fizer. Now, we know that they wanted to bury for 75 years. It was 55,000 documents. 75 years they wanted to bury it. wanted a judge to slap a gag order. Come and find out, guess what? Fizer knew everything that it was going to do to everybody. They even had they were you were guinea pigs if you took that. They were testing with different batches. You It was an experiment. And also to forward the eugenics lower the population agenda. Oh, but y'all trust the science. No, no. I trust real science. not satanic, luciferian, globalist science that wants to lower the population of the world. You get what I'm saying? 1:00:011 hour, 1 secondThere's science that'll help you and there's science that'll hurt you, right? 1:00:071 hour, 7 secondsOperation paperclip. We know about all that, right? All right. So, but you're going to add to your faith knowledge. 1:00:131 hour, 13 secondsWell, knowledge is gaining understanding, information, and experience with the Lord. 1:00:241 hour, 24 secondsYou got to be a student. Study to show yourself approved. 1:00:301 hour, 30 secondsThe righteous studyth to answer, it says in Proverbs, right? 1:00:361 hour, 36 secondsIf you're a Christian, you study. Oh, I thought that's your job, Pastor Dean. 1:00:451 hour, 45 secondsNo, you better know the word of God. It's the only way you're going to know whether you're being deceived or not, 1:00:511 hour, 51 secondsright? So, you add to your faith virtue and then knowledge. There's a lot of people that know a lot of stuff, but they don't live holy. 1:01:001 hour, 1 minuteSo, they getting this out of whack. 1:01:041 hour, 1 minute, 4 secondsLet's go on. It says the knowledge of things, this word knowledge, notice, the knowledge of things that which belong to God. uh the deeper, more perfect, 1:01:121 hour, 1 minute, 12 secondsenlarged knowledge of this religion such as belong to the more advanced. I want you to see that again. 1:01:201 hour, 1 minute, 20 secondsAnd let's keep going here. Here's some of the verses that it's in. He warned the lawyers, you have taken away the key of knowledge. You entered not in 1:01:291 hour, 1 minute, 29 secondsyourselves and them that were entering and you hindered. That is most of Christian churches in the world now. 1:01:371 hour, 1 minute, 37 secondsHe says, "Give knowledge and of salvation." It's why Jesus came to give knowledge of salvation unto his people and by the remission of their sins. 1:01:451 hour, 1 minute, 45 secondsAnd we could go on here. 1:01:491 hour, 1 minute, 49 secondsThen he says this, "After you add virtue, after you add knowledge, 1:01:591 hour, 1 minute, 59 secondsbecause you become a studious person, the next thing he says is temperance." 1:02:061 hour, 2 minutes, 6 secondsNow this one say well I thought that what virtue meant. 1:02:131 hour, 2 minutes, 13 secondsWell again virtue is having the right standard right. 1:02:211 hour, 2 minutes, 21 secondsTemperance is actually doing it. You understand? 1:02:271 hour, 2 minutes, 27 secondsTemperance is when your flesh, your carnal nature wants to do the sin, 1:02:341 hour, 2 minutes, 34 secondsbut you control it. And how do you control it? 1:02:381 hour, 2 minutes, 38 secondsHow do you work temperance into your life? You better have a prayer life. 1:02:471 hour, 2 minutes, 47 secondsYou hear me? 1:02:501 hour, 2 minutes, 50 secondsYou better have not just a prayer life, but you better have a fasting life. 1:02:581 hour, 2 minutes, 58 secondsYou better have a time you sit down and read the word. 1:03:031 hour, 3 minutes, 3 secondsIf you don't strengthen [snorts] the spiritual side of your life, 1:03:101 hour, 3 minutes, 10 secondsthen you will not be able to control the fleshly carnal side of your life. 1:03:171 hour, 3 minutes, 17 secondsI've used the illustration over the years. Maybe two dogs, they're going to fight each other. 1:03:261 hour, 3 minutes, 26 secondsOne you feed T-bone steaks for three weeks and the other one you do not feed. 1:03:351 hour, 3 minutes, 35 secondsYou let them fight. Who's winning? T-bone steak dog. Mhm. All day long. 1:03:431 hour, 3 minutes, 43 secondsYou see, your flesh and your spirit are going to be in a constant war. 1:03:541 hour, 3 minutes, 54 secondsAnd whichever one you feed the most is going to win when the temptation 1:04:021 hour, 4 minutes, 2 secondscomes. And let me just go and tell you the day of temptation comes to all of us. The evil day, the day it feels like 1:04:101 hour, 4 minutes, 10 secondsyou just, you know, there's a lot of days you can be going around I no problems and then all of a sudden it's like overwhelming womb hits you. 1:04:221 hour, 4 minutes, 22 secondsThat's the day of temptation. That's the evil day. What are you supposed to do in that evil day? Having done all to stand. Stand. 1:04:301 hour, 4 minutes, 30 secondsYou don't give in. You don't fall. Why can you do this? Because of self control. 1:04:401 hour, 4 minutes, 40 secondsEverything in you can be saying, "Oh, I just need to go cuss that person out right there." 1:04:471 hour, 4 minutes, 47 secondsand you go, "Jesus name, that wouldn't be right to do." Oh, no. You're not going to go cuss that person out because that wouldn't be the thing to do. 1:04:581 hour, 4 minutes, 58 secondsSo, you see, self-control. 1:05:001 hour, 5 minutesI want to slap their teeth out of their mouth. No, that's not a good thing to do. 1:05:081 hour, 5 minutes, 8 secondsJesus, help me. [laughter] Right. Self-control. 1:05:191 hour, 5 minutes, 19 secondsself-control. What it says here, the virtue of one who masters his desires and passions, especially his sensual appetites. 1:05:301 hour, 5 minutes, 30 secondsAll right. Lust. 1:05:351 hour, 5 minutes, 35 secondsI mean, you have to get your the anger, lust, all of that stuff you have to get under control. 1:05:441 hour, 5 minutes, 44 secondsThen he says this this word here. He says, "After you've added these things, you add 1:05:531 hour, 5 minutes, 53 secondspatience." Oh, patience. 1:06:001 hour, 6 minutesOh, I hit the wrong one. Patience is the is the thing. Hey, patience, they say, never ask for patience. No, you should. 1:06:111 hour, 6 minutes, 11 secondsBut let's let's figure out what it is for a second. Now, these are the outline of the biblical usage, the blue letter Bible. 1:06:191 hour, 6 minutes, 19 secondsUm, I love this A here. Of course, it means steadfastness, constancy, endurance. In the New Testament, the 1:06:281 hour, 6 minutes, 28 secondscharact characteristic of a man who is not swerved from his deliberate purpose and his loyalty to faith and piety by even the greatest trials and suffering. 1:06:401 hour, 6 minutes, 40 secondsPatience is persevering through trials and suffering. 1:06:471 hour, 6 minutes, 47 secondsHere, let me add a little something to you. Without complaining, uh, [groaning] 1:06:541 hour, 6 minutes, 54 secondsa lot of us need to add this one big time, right? 1:07:001 hour, 7 minutescuz we wouldn't think a kid like say, you know, we tell a kid, hey, we're going to go to the, you know, 1:07:071 hour, 7 minutes, 7 secondswe're going to go to the putt putt place or whatever, right? Oh, they're so excited, but we got to do this, this, 1:07:141 hour, 7 minutes, 14 secondsand this first. And they're about to bust the gut, right? They're like, just be patient, right? We're going. 1:07:231 hour, 7 minutes, 23 secondsNow, if that child or teenager complains, fusses, gripes about every stop you got to make along the way. 1:07:361 hour, 7 minutes, 36 secondsWhat do you kind of want to do? Mhm. All right. 1:07:441 hour, 7 minutes, 44 secondsPatience endures because it's after patience is the reward. And notice it says here the 1:07:531 hour, 7 minutes, 53 secondsstrong says cheerful or hopeful endurance. Somebody say cheerful. endurance. 1:08:011 hour, 8 minutes, 1 secondAfter Paul and Silas were beaten and thrown in a jail dungeon, not a nice one like we have, 1:08:091 hour, 8 minutes, 9 secondsbut a real dungeon, bleeding, beaten to a pulp. 1:08:181 hour, 8 minutes, 18 secondsThey start singing. They start worshiping God, thanking God. Acts 16, right? 1:08:261 hour, 8 minutes, 26 secondspleased God so much. The Lord's like, "Hey, let's do something fun. How about an earthquake?" And everybody's chains 1:08:331 hour, 8 minutes, 33 secondsfall off. Hey, and it says at midnight they were singing. 1:08:441 hour, 8 minutes, 44 secondsOh, some of you, if you got beaten half to death and thrown in a jail cell, you'd be like, "I'm going to sue these 1:08:521 hour, 8 minutes, 52 secondspeople. [laughter] Just let me get a hold of them. 1:08:581 hour, 8 minutes, 58 secondsOne of No, patience endures. 1:09:091 hour, 9 minutes, 9 secondsI I I had to highlight this again. I'm gonna read it again. patience in the New Testament. The characteristic of a man 1:09:181 hour, 9 minutes, 18 secondswe say or a woman who is unswerved from their deliberate purpose and loyalty to faith and piety or true 1:09:261 hour, 9 minutes, 26 secondsholiness even by even the greatest trials and suffering will not be swayed. 1:09:341 hour, 9 minutes, 34 secondsThis is going to be so important in the days ahead of us. 1:09:441 hour, 9 minutes, 44 secondsY'all know they're burning down the oil refineries, the fertilizer plants 1:09:511 hour, 9 minutes, 51 secondsjust like a a few years ago. All the food uh processing factories, we we are under Yeah. the chickens and everything. 1:09:591 hour, 9 minutes, 59 secondsWe are under attack, y'all. First thing that starts before missiles start flying into our country 1:10:081 hour, 10 minutes, 8 secondsis sabotage. And we are under globalist I believe globalist special 1:10:131 hour, 10 minutes, 13 secondsforces sabotage operations right now their whole their whole program is to 1:10:211 hour, 10 minutes, 21 secondsattack two things the food supply and the energy supply infrastructure and that is what we're going through 1:10:281 hour, 10 minutes, 28 secondsright now and uh I will just say this any final preparations you need to make 1:10:371 hour, 10 minutes, 37 secondsyou better make them But then he says after 1:10:451 hour, 10 minutes, 45 secondspatience, godliness. 1:10:501 hour, 10 minutes, 50 secondsNow it's usubia means holiness, godliness. We could say 1:10:591 hour, 10 minutes, 59 secondsit it it it's it's more than just virtue or self-control. This is this word means 1:11:061 hour, 11 minutes, 6 secondsjust by its very makeup that now you begin to become more 1:11:141 hour, 11 minutes, 14 secondslike Jesus godliness. What would God do? What would 1:11:201 hour, 11 minutes, 20 secondsJesus do in this situation? What would Jesus do if he met a leper? Heal him. 1:11:281 hour, 11 minutes, 28 secondsWhat would Jesus do if he met a demon-possessed person? Cast it out. 1:11:331 hour, 11 minutes, 33 secondsRemember Jesus said, "The works I do." John 14:12. Y'all can put this up. John 14:12. Jesus said, "He that believes on 1:11:401 hour, 11 minutes, 40 secondsme, the works that I do shall he do also and even greater works because I go to my father." Right? 1:11:521 hour, 11 minutes, 52 secondsBe like Jesus. 1:11:541 hour, 11 minutes, 54 secondsWhat would Jesus do if he sat down around a bunch of unsaved people? What do you think he would do? He would explain to them 1:12:021 hour, 12 minutes, 2 secondsthe way of salvation. I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the father but through me. 1:12:091 hour, 12 minutes, 9 secondsI am the water of life. I am the bread of life. 1:12:141 hour, 12 minutes, 14 secondsWhat would Jesus do if he came upon a beggar and they had money in the Judas 1:12:211 hour, 12 minutes, 21 secondshad the the bag? Obviously, they did this because remember when he sent Judas out when he was going to betray him, 1:12:281 hour, 12 minutes, 28 secondsthey thought he was sending Judas on a mission to give some money to the poor because guess what? A lot of people gave to Jesus' ministry. 1:12:361 hour, 12 minutes, 36 secondsSo much so, he had to have a treasurer. 1:12:391 hour, 12 minutes, 39 secondsAlways got to watch those treasurers though. 1:12:441 hour, 12 minutes, 44 secondsYou have to have a treasurer and a treasure watcher. 1:12:541 hour, 12 minutes, 54 secondsBut you get what I'm saying? Y'all understand what I'm saying? Be godliness means to be like God. Do what God would do in the situation. 1:13:041 hour, 13 minutes, 4 secondsWhat would God do? Now, sometimes it's a rebuke. It's correction. 1:13:121 hour, 13 minutes, 12 secondsIt's not always got to be pretty and nice. Sometimes it has to be firm and strong cuz Jesus did that too. He threw tables over. 1:13:221 hour, 13 minutes, 22 secondsHe called them hypocrites, snakes, vipers. He called them a brood of vipers. 1:13:311 hour, 13 minutes, 31 secondsHe called them fools. Blind fools. Oh, Jesus wouldn't call anybody names. 1:13:381 hour, 13 minutes, 38 secondsOh, yes, he would. 1:13:401 hour, 13 minutes, 40 secondsBut you want him to call you a name that he likes? like sons of thunder. 1:13:471 hour, 13 minutes, 47 secondsNot hypocrite and blind fool. 1:13:531 hour, 13 minutes, 53 secondsYeah. Whitewashed tomb full of dead men's bones. You don't want those things. 1:13:591 hour, 13 minutes, 59 secondsBut this is what would Jesus do. Now let's go back. 1:14:031 hour, 14 minutes, 3 secondsSo he says godliness. And then he adds this. 1:14:081 hour, 14 minutes, 8 secondsOh, I like this too. I'm sorry. This yubia also means this is the Greek lex. The doctrine that promotes godliness. Woohoo. 1:14:161 hour, 14 minutes, 16 secondsThat'll preach for a minute. But the grace of God, Titus chapter 2, the grace of God teaches us what? 1:14:231 hour, 14 minutes, 23 secondsThat we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age. 1:14:301 hour, 14 minutes, 30 secondsThat whole the whole false doctrine, once you're saved, you're always saved no matter how you live. That is not a doctrine that promotes godliness. 1:14:421 hour, 14 minutes, 42 secondsI'll leave that one there. Let's keep going. Then he says you're to add brotherly kindness. Now this is the Greek word Philadelphia. 1:14:551 hour, 14 minutes, 55 secondsAll right. That's the city of brotherly love. We got a lot. We know folks. We got people that have been watching for years and years and years living in 1:15:031 hour, 15 minutes, 3 secondsPhiladelphia. been to Philadelphia. I don't know how much love is in Philadelphia for your brothers and 1:15:121 hour, 15 minutes, 12 secondsthere's a lot of bad stuff going on there. A lot of But there's good people there. But here's the thing. This what this is about is loving the people 1:15:201 hour, 15 minutes, 20 secondsaround you, your brothers and sisters in Christ, and loving them 1:15:271 hour, 15 minutes, 27 secondswith a pure heart fervently. loving them with the unconditional love that God's put in you. 1:15:361 hour, 15 minutes, 36 secondsAnd that means if you love somebody, you pray for them. You care about them. You understand? 1:15:441 hour, 15 minutes, 44 secondsAnd God wants that. He said they'll know you're my disciples. Jesus said, if by your love for one another, right? 1:15:531 hour, 15 minutes, 53 secondsYou don't love each other if you got grudges. If you don't deal with issues, if you don't confront misunderstandings, 1:16:021 hour, 16 minutes, 2 secondsI mean, a church family that's going to have brotherly love in it is going to be messy sometimes. 1:16:111 hour, 16 minutes, 11 secondsBut that's what a family is. A family is messy. The best families are messy, but that's how good 1:16:191 hour, 16 minutes, 19 secondsrelationships are built. I don't want a fake relationship with you. You act fake to me, I act fake to you. And what do we have? 1:16:301 hour, 16 minutes, 30 secondsWe don't have brotherly love. 1:16:351 hour, 16 minutes, 35 secondsThat's why sometimes it has to be broken down by just becoming frank and honest and blunt about some things. Get it on 1:16:421 hour, 16 minutes, 42 secondsthe table and work it out because that's what families have to do, right? 1:16:501 hour, 16 minutes, 50 secondsBut this is a choice right here. If you know your brother has a heart against you, what are you supposed to do? You're supposed to go talk to them. 1:16:591 hour, 16 minutes, 59 secondsIf you have an issue with somebody, you thought they did something or said something that hurt your feelings or might have been misunderstood, instead 1:17:061 hour, 17 minutes, 6 secondsof letting it fester and grow into something it shouldn't be, go talk to them. Ask them about it. Usually, it's a 1:17:141 hour, 17 minutes, 14 secondsstupid misunderstanding that's growing into a a thing that's dividing you. 1:17:221 hour, 17 minutes, 22 secondsThis takes work. This takes understanding again. What do the scriptures say to do about this? How do I love my brother and sister? Forgive each other quickly. 1:17:341 hour, 17 minutes, 34 secondsDeal with your issues with each other quickly. 1:17:381 hour, 17 minutes, 38 secondsWell, I'm afraid. I don't want to go talk to them. What? 1:17:451 hour, 17 minutes, 45 secondsStop being afraid. 1:17:491 hour, 17 minutes, 49 secondsany any relationship you have with anybody has to be built on honesty 1:17:581 hour, 17 minutes, 58 secondssometimes and sometimes the truth hurts a little bit. Hey, hey, you know what? You hurt my feelings when you did this. Guess what? You need to straighten up. 1:18:051 hour, 18 minutes, 5 secondsYou need to change that. 1:18:071 hour, 18 minutes, 7 secondsOh man, you're judging me. No. Loving you. Trying to help you. trying to make sure that we love each other and we 1:18:161 hour, 18 minutes, 16 secondsdon't have an offense, strife, division between us. This what did he say? If 1:18:231 hour, 18 minutes, 23 secondsthese things be in you and abound, see this doesn't just happen one time. 1:18:301 hour, 18 minutes, 30 secondsThis is not a one. Oh yeah, I fixed that problem. I'm I'm done. I've got this one checked off the list. 1:18:381 hour, 18 minutes, 38 secondsNo, guess what? 1:18:411 hour, 18 minutes, 41 secondsSomebody's gonna I, you know, I probably got some people that are offended with me right now and I could tell you I could actually name the names. 1:18:511 hour, 18 minutes, 51 secondsThey should come talk to me. I'm just waiting. We'll see. 1:18:581 hour, 18 minutes, 58 secondsAll right. 1:19:011 hour, 19 minutes, 1 secondThen he ends this. He says, "And to brotherly kindness," what do you say? 1:19:071 hour, 19 minutes, 7 secondsCharity or agape. 1:19:111 hour, 19 minutes, 11 secondsNow, brotherly kindness is different than this agape here. Philadelphia, 1:19:171 hour, 19 minutes, 17 secondsfileo, Greek word, brotherly love is really more of a human affection, human loves. I think 1:19:251 hour, 19 minutes, 25 secondsit's something we choose to do. This one is different. 1:19:301 hour, 19 minutes, 30 secondsThis one right here is what the Holy Spirit gave us. This one right here does what's best. 1:19:371 hour, 19 minutes, 37 secondsAnd I love this. the definition in my keyword Hebrew Greek study Bible lexicon combination of all lexicons in the back. 1:19:481 hour, 19 minutes, 48 secondsI love what it says about the word agape. It says that this is the kind of love that does what's best for the other 1:19:551 hour, 19 minutes, 55 secondsperson even if they think it's not best for them. 1:20:021 hour, 20 minutes, 2 secondsOh, this is showing what love by doing what's best even if you know they're going to hate you for it. 1:20:161 hour, 20 minutes, 16 secondsSee, this is not usually defined in this word. You just hear this is the God kind of love, right? Unconditional love. 1:20:271 hour, 20 minutes, 27 secondsNowhere does it say that. 1:20:311 hour, 20 minutes, 31 secondsBut this is and it uses the word benevolence here. 1:20:351 hour, 20 minutes, 35 secondsIt literally means you act on this. You act on the God kind of 1:20:431 hour, 20 minutes, 43 secondslove. And what is God? God loves us. But God's going to do what's best for us even if we don't like it. 1:20:501 hour, 20 minutes, 50 secondsRight? 1:20:531 hour, 20 minutes, 53 secondsSometimes me as, you know, well, as parents, because we love our children, we have to do things and make them do 1:21:001 hour, 21 minutesthings that they don't like, but because we know it's best for them, right? But they don't like it. They get mad at us. 1:21:101 hour, 21 minutes, 10 secondsStomp off, pout. 1:21:181 hour, 21 minutes, 18 secondsYou know, I've had two year olds. My my little Bethany, she's she now 1:21:251 hour, 21 minutes, 25 seconds29. Turns 29 in June. I remember little I called her the little cruiser cuz she was just once she hit the feet hit the ground, she was going somewhere. 1:21:371 hour, 21 minutes, 37 secondsI'm like, where's she going? She just leaving us in the dust. Like we like I'd be looking at like where do you think you're going? She'd be headed to the 1:21:441 hour, 21 minutes, 44 secondsroad. She'd be headed to just, you know, and I would go and pick her up, you 1:21:521 hour, 21 minutes, 52 secondsknow, she she'd be headed toward the highway. No, you're not going there. 1:21:571 hour, 21 minutes, 57 seconds[screaming] 1:21:591 hour, 21 minutes, 59 secondsNot be happy about that. 1:22:021 hour, 22 minutes, 2 secondsBut I had to do what's best for her, even if she didn't understand why I was doing it. 1:22:111 hour, 22 minutes, 11 secondsMany times you cannot comprehend what God is doing, why he's doing it. This is 1:22:191 hour, 22 minutes, 19 secondswhere you trust him. But this is where we're supposed to be with people. You do what's best for your brother, sister in 1:22:261 hour, 22 minutes, 26 secondsChrist, even sometimes if you know it's going to upset them. I've had to have very difficult conversations with 1:22:351 hour, 22 minutes, 35 secondsbrothers and sisters where I thought, you know, I'm going to have this conversation and and they may get mad and our our relationship may end. They 1:22:431 hour, 22 minutes, 43 secondsmay walk away, but I have to do it because if I ignore this problem, it's going to hurt them. It's going to hurt 1:22:521 hour, 22 minutes, 52 secondsthe church. It's going to hurt more people in the long run. I have to act to fix this if I love them. 1:23:021 hour, 23 minutes, 2 secondsI've had to root some people out of this church so that they didn't destroy the rest of you. 1:23:111 hour, 23 minutes, 11 secondsAnd I lost some because I've done that. 1:23:141 hour, 23 minutes, 14 secondsIt's part of But see, one day I'm going to stand to 1:23:201 hour, 23 minutes, 20 secondsgive an account. Did I love you enough to do the right thing even if I knew you would turn against me, hate me, leave, whatever. 1:23:341 hour, 23 minutes, 34 secondsSee, this is the love. This is the kind of love that does the right thing knowing it could lose. 1:23:421 hour, 23 minutes, 42 secondsThat's why this is a different kind of love. You understand? 1:23:491 hour, 23 minutes, 49 secondsThis is the love that you tell your child the truth. They may never speak to you again. 1:23:571 hour, 23 minutes, 57 secondsIt's what you do. You understand? 1:24:071 hour, 24 minutes, 7 secondsThere's parents, there's Christian parents that have children that got into the homosexual lifestyle. And instead of 1:24:141 hour, 24 minutes, 14 secondstelling them the homosexual lifestyle is sin, it's an abomination. you have to come out of it instead of loving them enough to tell 1:24:231 hour, 24 minutes, 23 secondsthe truth and possibly lose the relationship forever. 1:24:281 hour, 24 minutes, 28 secondsThere are parents who have allowed their moral standard and the biblical standard to be pushed 1:24:351 hour, 24 minutes, 35 secondsaside because they think that this love means unconditional. You do you just accept everybody the way they are blah blah. 1:24:441 hour, 24 minutes, 44 secondsNo, we don't. 1:24:471 hour, 24 minutes, 47 secondsGod accepts us the way we are. No, he doesn't. See, you've been told a bunch of lies. 1:24:541 hour, 24 minutes, 54 secondsGod does not accept you the way you are. 1:24:571 hour, 24 minutes, 57 secondsHe expects you to confess your sins and repent. He expects you to believe the gospel and to repent. He's given you the 1:25:061 hour, 25 minutes, 6 secondsgrace and ability to repent. He expects you to change when you come to him. 1:25:141 hour, 25 minutes, 14 secondsThe child that left their father's house and went to the pig pin had to figure it out themselves. Come to their senses and 1:25:221 hour, 25 minutes, 22 secondsget out of the pig pin themselves and walk back home themselves before the father said, "Hey, you're 1:25:311 hour, 25 minutes, 31 secondsback." The father was not out in the pig pin going, "I accept you the way you are 1:25:391 hour, 25 minutes, 39 secondsright here." Just come and love me with the slop. 1:25:441 hour, 25 minutes, 44 secondsGive me some slop on me. Give me some mud on me. We'll just hang out here, son. 1:25:521 hour, 25 minutes, 52 secondsI'll hang out here with you in the bar in the gay bar. No. 1:25:581 hour, 25 minutes, 58 secondsI'll have some beers with you, son. No. 1:26:021 hour, 26 minutes, 2 secondsCome on, son. We'll drink some whiskey and smoke some cigars with No. 1:26:081 hour, 26 minutes, 8 secondsNo, son. You need to give your life to Jesus. 1:26:111 hour, 26 minutes, 11 secondsWhen you come out of that, that's the only way you're going to have eternal life. It's the only way you're going to find the blessing of God. 1:26:201 hour, 26 minutes, 20 secondsYou see, you have to do what's right, even if you're going to lose. 1:26:251 hour, 26 minutes, 25 secondsI've lost in my life, y'all. I've lost friends. 1:26:301 hour, 26 minutes, 30 secondsI've lost a daughter, grandson I've never seen. 1:26:371 hour, 26 minutes, 37 secondsBut I'm not ashamed of what I did. I had to do what was right. I had to tell her the truth because I loved her. 1:26:501 hour, 26 minutes, 50 secondsSee, God's love for us cost him something. 1:27:031 hour, 27 minutes, 3 secondsAnd and you know what? He died for all, but all will not come to him. So meaning 1:27:101 hour, 27 minutes, 10 secondshe's going to lose some by giving us free will, by allowing us to choose our own path. 1:27:221 hour, 27 minutes, 22 secondsHe's going to lose some. But see, that's love. 1:27:281 hour, 27 minutes, 28 secondsThat's love. That's the agape kind of love. And this is this is the place that's hard. 1:27:381 hour, 27 minutes, 38 secondsThis is usually the place that only the mature Christians can handle 1:27:471 hour, 27 minutes, 47 secondsbecause it is just too hard. It's too painful sometimes. 1:27:581 hour, 27 minutes, 58 secondsI think about testimonies I've seen people in Hollywood. You know, I could have been there. I could have been exactly would have been one of them. 1:28:101 hour, 28 minutes, 10 secondsThank God he got a hold of me before that. But I think about these people in Hollywood that talk about how oh, you know, I grew up in a Christian home. 1:28:201 hour, 28 minutes, 20 secondsMy parents loved me. They loved God, but it was just too strict. 1:28:271 hour, 28 minutes, 27 secondsIt's too strict. And you know, they were about holiness. 1:28:361 hour, 28 minutes, 36 secondsThey didn't just love me the way I was. 1:28:391 hour, 28 minutes, 39 secondsNo, they loved you. How? This is what the kids never get. They just don't get. 1:28:451 hour, 28 minutes, 45 secondsYou love them the moment you know that they're in the womb. 1:28:531 hour, 28 minutes, 53 secondsAnd the moment they come out and you hold them, I every time I had one, it just I sat there and cried. 1:29:031 hour, 29 minutes, 3 secondsI mean, if you're a normal human being, I know we have some without natural affection, but 1:29:101 hour, 29 minutes, 10 secondsand I love all of my daughters the same. I really do. But I don't have the same relationship with all of them. 1:29:231 hour, 29 minutes, 23 secondsAnd again, what was the question? 1:29:261 hour, 29 minutes, 26 secondsThe question is not if I love them. I love them. Even now, even with the situations, I would do anything to help him. 1:29:381 hour, 29 minutes, 38 secondsWould I let them come and live in my home and live in sin and bring that into my home? No. Would not. 1:29:461 hour, 29 minutes, 46 secondsI draw a line. This is right. This is wrong. 1:29:521 hour, 29 minutes, 52 secondsYou got to come out of the pig pin. You got to repent. 1:29:581 hour, 29 minutes, 58 secondsSo see even with me the question is not do I love my daughters is this the question is do they really love me and if they really love me then they will 1:30:051 hour, 30 minutes, 5 secondsrespect me they will honor me they would show a desire to be with me 1:30:131 hour, 30 minutes, 13 secondsto talk to me to learn from me you understand 1:30:221 hour, 30 minutes, 22 secondsthe question with God is he loves But he's still going to do what's right. 1:30:341 hour, 30 minutes, 34 secondsI used this illustration years ago, but let's just say who who should I use as my example? 1:30:451 hour, 30 minutes, 45 secondsLet's just say, Isaac, that you were the worst serial killer Oregon 1:30:521 hour, 30 minutes, 52 secondsand Northwest ever had. And they had you on video. Okay. 1:31:031 hour, 31 minutes, 3 secondsBut your dad, who loved you with all of his heart, was the only judge there. 1:31:111 hour, 31 minutes, 11 secondsAnd you had to come stand before him as a habitual unrepentant serial killer. 1:31:221 hour, 31 minutes, 22 secondsAnd he had to judge you according to what was written. 1:31:311 hour, 31 minutes, 31 secondsHe had no choice. Does that mean he sentences you say to the electric chair or whatever they do 1:31:381 hour, 31 minutes, 38 secondsover there? They probably don't kill anybody. They probably give them flowers and TV set and everything else. Um 1:31:481 hour, 31 minutes, 48 secondsbut in the real in the normal world, you get sentenced to to life. He has to sentence you. 1:31:571 hour, 31 minutes, 57 secondsAgain, it doesn't mean that he didn't love you. And I tell people this all the time. 1:32:051 hour, 32 minutes, 5 secondsGod will love you all the way to hell. 1:32:121 hour, 32 minutes, 12 secondsAs you paddle your canoe there away from him, he will love you the whole way. He will try to talk you out of it the whole 1:32:191 hour, 32 minutes, 19 secondsway. He will send people to get in your way, to try to stop you from going. 1:32:251 hour, 32 minutes, 25 secondsBut ultimately you will decide your destination. 1:32:331 hour, 32 minutes, 33 secondsThat's why he says God is not willing or he does not desire any to perish but that all should come to repentance. 1:32:421 hour, 32 minutes, 42 secondsSee that's the God kind of love. 1:32:451 hour, 32 minutes, 45 secondsHe cannot will not force you to do what's right to choose him to love him. 1:32:541 hour, 32 minutes, 54 secondsBut the question is, just like what came to the prodigal son in the pigman, what came to him was, you know what? I'm I'm 1:33:011 hour, 33 minutes, 1 secondI'm in a pig pin eating rotten food to survive. 1:33:111 hour, 33 minutes, 11 secondsIn my father's house, there was food to spare. 1:33:151 hour, 33 minutes, 15 secondsNo one cares for me here. He cared for me. He loved me. He treated me like royalty. 1:33:251 hour, 33 minutes, 25 secondsFinally, the wakeup came. 1:33:281 hour, 33 minutes, 28 secondsI'll go to my father and I'll say, "I have sinned against you, against heaven. 1:33:361 hour, 33 minutes, 36 secondsLet me just be a servant in the house. I don't have to be the prince anymore. 1:33:481 hour, 33 minutes, 48 secondsThis is all God wants." You understand? 1:33:541 hour, 33 minutes, 54 secondsLove him. I hope all of us in here and those most of us sinned enough to find out what it did. 1:34:041 hour, 34 minutes, 4 secondsHe was eating the slot, man. Living in the stench. 1:34:131 hour, 34 minutes, 13 secondsWaking up smelling like vomit and whiskey. It's not nice. 1:34:281 hour, 34 minutes, 28 secondsSo it's the question, do you love Jesus? 1:34:371 hour, 34 minutes, 37 secondsDo you love Jesus enough for it to cost you something? 1:34:431 hour, 34 minutes, 43 secondsWhat has it cost you to love Jesus? 1:34:561 hour, 34 minutes, 56 secondsSee, I love Jesus. He's first. 1:35:001 hour, 35 minutesI remember when the Lord told me my daughters couldn't be couldn't be idols in my life. 1:35:061 hour, 35 minutes, 6 secondsOh, for some parents, children have become their idols. 1:35:111 hour, 35 minutes, 11 secondsThey bend and break the rules and love their children over God. 1:35:201 hour, 35 minutes, 20 secondslet their children get away with murder sometimes, literally. 1:35:261 hour, 35 minutes, 26 secondsWonder why we got a lot of spoiled brats out here in the world. Why? 1:35:351 hour, 35 minutes, 35 secondsGod kind of love. 1:35:401 hour, 35 minutes, 40 secondsGod kind of love put a put the rod on the on the child's butt, right? 1:35:461 hour, 35 minutes, 46 secondsWhere was the world say? Oh, don't spank your kids. 1:35:521 hour, 35 minutes, 52 secondsYou'll ruin their little emotional psyche. 1:35:571 hour, 35 minutes, 57 secondsIt's already ruined cuz they were born in sin. 1:36:051 hour, 36 minutes, 5 secondsFoolishness is bound up in the heart of child, but the rod of correction drives it far from him. Let me tell you, there's no child that likes the rod of 1:36:121 hour, 36 minutes, 12 secondscorrection. But guess what? There's a lot of parents that don't want to give the child a spanking. 1:36:191 hour, 36 minutes, 19 secondsAnd yet the Bible says if you don't discipline and spank your child, you don't love them. Why? Because you care about what is going to happen. They need 1:36:281 hour, 36 minutes, 28 secondsto know there's consequences to behavior. 1:36:371 hour, 36 minutes, 37 secondsI remember I had four rules in my house for my kids growing up. Number one, 1:36:461 hour, 36 minutes, 46 secondsdisobedience. After you've been warned, you get a spanking with the belt, the spoon, the paddle, whatever was within reach. 1:36:571 hour, 36 minutes, 57 secondsBut we went and sat down and talked about it. It wasn't out of anger. I'd always say, "What did you just What'd you do? I disobeyed. 1:37:051 hour, 37 minutes, 5 secondsAll right, I'll meet you in your room. 1:37:091 hour, 37 minutes, 9 secondsNumber two, if you lie to me, that's automatic. Your butt's getting whipped. 1:37:151 hour, 37 minutes, 15 secondsBetter to tell the truth and suffer whatever consequences may come there. 1:37:191 hour, 37 minutes, 19 secondsThe truth will set you free, though. But if you lie and keep lying, I'm going to keep whipping that butt until the truth comes out. 1:37:281 hour, 37 minutes, 28 secondsOkay. 1:37:301 hour, 37 minutes, 30 secondsNumber three, any disrespectful talk to me or your mother, your butt will be worn out and stuff will be taken away. 1:37:411 hour, 37 minutes, 41 secondsAnd number four, as I had all girls, I'd say, "You hit your sister, I hit you." Now, I remember when Caitlyn was born, 1:37:491 hour, 37 minutes, 49 secondsshe had an older sister at the time. So, Caitlyn was about one, just starting to walk. 1:37:561 hour, 37 minutes, 56 secondsAnd so Lindsay, the real stubborn one, was about six or seven. 1:38:051 hour, 38 minutes, 5 secondsAnd I remember watching. You got to watch kids. Y'all know that, right? 1:38:141 hour, 38 minutes, 14 secondsChildren left to themselves. 1:38:171 hour, 38 minutes, 17 secondsI'm watching her, though, and she's getting a little irritated. She was jealous of the baby, right? This happens with kids. They get jealous of the new ones that come along. 1:38:271 hour, 38 minutes, 27 secondsAnd I don't know, something happened. 1:38:281 hour, 38 minutes, 28 secondsBut at seven versus one, there's a big size difference, right? 1:38:341 hour, 38 minutes, 34 secondsAnd she rared back. I mean, she was going to give the baby a hay maker, right? 1:38:441 hour, 38 minutes, 44 secondsThat's when you bring it from like downtown. Woo! All the way around. 1:38:511 hour, 38 minutes, 51 secondsAnd I saw her about do and she had on shorts and I was laying on the ground within reach though. 1:39:011 hour, 39 minutes, 1 secondAnd as her hand went back and started forward, my hand was faster. 1:39:071 hour, 39 minutes, 7 secondsAnd this hand lit that leg up. 1:39:141 hour, 39 minutes, 14 seconds[laughter] 1:39:151 hour, 39 minutes, 15 secondsYou know that kind of slap that feels like fire. It feels like gasoline. And in a match before, 1:39:271 hour, 39 minutes, 27 secondsshe screamed, l turned around, looked at me. I said, "I saw what you're about to do." 1:39:331 hour, 39 minutes, 33 secondsI said, "Don't you ever think about doing that, not only to your sister or anyone else, especially when 1:39:411 hour, 39 minutes, 41 secondsyou are four or five times their size." Let me tell you, 1:39:501 hour, 39 minutes, 50 secondsshe never ever tried to hit the baby again. 1:40:001 hour, 40 minutesDid I do that because I didn't like Lindsay? This was my stepdaughter at the time. 1:40:061 hour, 40 minutes, 6 secondsDid I do it because I didn't? No, I loved Lindsay with all my heart. Loved her. She needed discipline in her life. 1:40:151 hour, 40 minutes, 15 secondsNow, she is a wild one, man. 1:40:191 hour, 40 minutes, 19 secondsA lot of things I had you do have to do as a dad, as a mom, as a pastor. 1:40:251 hour, 40 minutes, 25 secondsReal love does not let sin go unpunished. It does not let correction go out the window. 1:40:371 hour, 40 minutes, 37 secondsThis is what I'm talking about. 1:40:411 hour, 40 minutes, 41 secondsSo, do you love Jesus enough to do what you're supposed to do? 1:40:481 hour, 40 minutes, 48 secondsYou know, I tell you the truth, just on this spanking, I hated spanking kids. I I told them, too. I said, "I hate having to sit down and do this." 1:40:551 hour, 40 minutes, 55 secondsAnd I would tell them, the Bible says, "If I don't do this, I don't love you." They're like, 1:41:031 hour, 41 minutes, 3 seconds"I don't understand this. I know you don't understand, but I have to tell you, one day you'll understand because one day you'll have your own children. 1:41:181 hour, 41 minutes, 18 secondsBut this is the way God has to deal with us. Sometimes we will not understand why he allows the trials, 1:41:251 hour, 41 minutes, 25 secondsthe temptations, the tests, the struggles, the pain, the suffering to come into our life. 1:41:331 hour, 41 minutes, 33 secondsBut just know this. I remember John Kilpatrick. He was the pastor at the Brownsville Assembly of God. And he's pastor down in Daphne, Alabama now. 1:41:421 hour, 41 minutes, 42 secondsHe used to say this all the time. He said, "Everything that comes to you as a child of God is father filtered." 1:41:501 hour, 41 minutes, 50 secondsAnd I've never forgotten that anything if Satan's allowed to sift you, tempt you, attack you, 1:41:591 hour, 41 minutes, 59 secondsyou as a Christian start going through difficulties. 1:42:051 hour, 42 minutes, 5 secondsIt's all been passed through his hand first. It's all been permitted not to destroy you. 1:42:131 hour, 42 minutes, 13 secondsto make you stronger, to make you an overcomer, to allow you to show you love God even 1:42:231 hour, 42 minutes, 23 secondswhen he's not giving you everything you want, even when he's disciplining you. 1:42:311 hour, 42 minutes, 31 secondsYou know, the Lord disciplines those he loves, right? 1:42:371 hour, 42 minutes, 37 secondsSay discipline. Yeah, I got 10 years of it. And I know why. 1:42:471 hour, 42 minutes, 47 secondsCuz he had to break all of that religious pride out of me. 1:42:541 hour, 42 minutes, 54 secondsY'all think, "Oh, you still got work to do, honey." Yeah, you should have seen me in my 20s. 1:43:061 hour, 43 minutes, 6 secondsThere wouldn't have been much grace. You'd have gotten all fire. What's there? 1:43:241 hour, 43 minutes, 24 secondsThank you, God. You love me, Jesus. I choose to love you with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. 1:43:361 hour, 43 minutes, 36 secondsYou know, I've had personally I've had a few years now of a lot of 1:43:441 hour, 43 minutes, 44 secondsweird things happen, struggles, nearly dying from COVID. That was misery. 1:43:531 hour, 43 minutes, 53 secondsHaving four main arteries of my heart, three 100% clogged and one 90% clogged. And 1:44:011 hour, 44 minutes, 1 secondreally, I believe now looking back, I had a heart attack on the golf course. 1:44:061 hour, 44 minutes, 6 secondsAnd I think about that, how I could have died and how I've had some other health struggles over the last couple of years. 1:44:141 hour, 44 minutes, 14 secondsI think remnants of COVID and 1:44:231 hour, 44 minutes, 23 secondsyou know the vaccines I took to obey God when I went to Africa in 2002 and what that did to me, the vaccine injuries I I deal with still. 1:44:341 hour, 44 minutes, 34 secondsAnd I'm like, you know, Lord, uh, hey, been dealing with some of this for a 1:44:431 hour, 44 minutes, 43 secondslong time. I'd like to be healed. Like, you know, we prayed and, you know, I'll say this, he did heal my heart. I'm testify this, too. It's been, you know, it's a year ago. 1:44:541 hour, 44 minutes, 54 secondsAnd, uh, Lord told me to trust him and not have the quadruple bypass surgery. 1:45:021 hour, 45 minutes, 2 secondsAnd um I mean for a while there I still went through on and off having chest pains 1:45:091 hour, 45 minutes, 9 secondsand taking nitroglycerin pills when I felt it really bad and running down my arm and everything else. And uh 1:45:181 hour, 45 minutes, 18 secondsbut I was like Lord you told me to stand. I will say this I'm enjoying this faith and I faith is taking up golf now. We're playing golf together. 1:45:281 hour, 45 minutes, 28 secondsSo, one year ago where the exact same spot that I almost had a heart attack or did 1:45:361 hour, 45 minutes, 36 secondsum I'm doing the same stuff in the same, you know, in heat and you know if 1:45:441 hour, 45 minutes, 44 secondsthere's any remnants of that left. I knew, you know, we're going to find out, but I said I just know I'm healed, 1:45:511 hour, 45 minutes, 51 secondsright? So, the Lord I I we got out there the other day. We sat there for hours in the heat hitting balls, sweating, you know, just 1:46:011 hour, 46 minutes, 1 secondand then walking up the hill and carrying everything. Not one even tinge, 1:46:091 hour, 46 minutes, 9 secondsnothing. And I was talking to her. I said, "I know that God healed me of that." But uh, hey Lord, wait a minute. 1:46:171 hour, 46 minutes, 17 secondsThere's a couple other things. 1:46:191 hour, 46 minutes, 19 seconds[laughter] 1:46:221 hour, 46 minutes, 22 secondsHey, hey, let's let's not forget this. I'd like this to be gone. And um but he didn't. 1:46:321 hour, 46 minutes, 32 secondsAnd you go, God, why do you do things like that? Why do we go through things like that? 1:46:401 hour, 46 minutes, 40 secondsAnd um he just reminds me, I got you. 1:46:471 hour, 46 minutes, 47 secondsWhat does it matter to you if you go with me tomorrow or a year from now or five years from now or 10 years from now? 1:46:571 hour, 46 minutes, 57 secondsAre you ready? 1:47:011 hour, 47 minutes, 1 secondI thought, well, it's made me completely look at things differently, but also I can tell you he I'm not a spoiled brat 1:47:101 hour, 47 minutes, 10 secondscuz there's a whole lot of things I would like him to do that he ain't done yet. 1:47:151 hour, 47 minutes, 15 secondsBut guess what? That's because he's in charge. 1:47:211 hour, 47 minutes, 21 secondsHe's in charge. And sometimes you have to learn patience. 1:47:281 hour, 47 minutes, 28 secondsSee, from the vaccines, I have seriatic arthritis. So there are days that every 1:47:331 hour, 47 minutes, 33 secondsjoint in my body hurts like hurts bad. Like I don't want to leave the house bad. 1:47:451 hour, 47 minutes, 45 secondsLike I don't want to touch anything that has any weight to it. [laughter] I don't want to pick up anything. I don't want to do anything. 1:47:531 hour, 47 minutes, 53 secondsIt'd be nice for that to be gone. 1:47:581 hour, 47 minutes, 58 secondsBut I've asked him. 1:48:031 hour, 48 minutes, 3 secondsSo what do I do? Am I going to whine and complain and murmur about it? Now us old guys all most of what we have to talk 1:48:101 hour, 48 minutes, 10 secondsabout what's all right yeah but 1:48:191 hour, 48 minutes, 19 secondsyou have to go you know what I'm going to be patient I'm going to endure this 1:48:251 hour, 48 minutes, 25 secondswithout complaining whining fussing getting mad at God about it pitching a little fit All right. 1:48:381 hour, 48 minutes, 38 secondsAnd just go on. 1:48:401 hour, 48 minutes, 40 secondsAnd guess what? I went out there 320 yard drive and I smashed. I can still do it in pain. Everything up. 1:48:521 hour, 48 minutes, 52 secondsYou get what I'm saying? You just endure. 1:48:551 hour, 48 minutes, 55 secondsAnd there's things that days ahead we're going to have to endure much worse than these things we're talking about. 1:49:011 hour, 49 minutes, 1 secondPatience will endure. Let's pray. 1:49:051 hour, 49 minutes, 5 secondsFather in heaven, we thank you for the word. We love you. We appreciate you. We thank you for what you've done for us.
