Amen. Lord, we worship you this morning.
We exalt you, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The name of Jesus is above every name. And Lord, you are the same yesterday, today and forever. We praise you today. We worship you today. We God, we love you. We Lord, we just give you our lives and we do want to be not your sheep that hear your voice, Lord. That's what it's all about. To hear your voice, to follow you, to walk with you in a real relationship and to be led by the Holy Spirit. Lord, I pray this for everyone in this place, everyone that's watching and listening that they will they'll receive that understanding, Lord, and they will hunger and thirst and they will seek you until they are walking in that place with you. They hear your voice and follow you. I pray this today in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. You may be seated this morning. Good to have everyone here. All of you watching and listening all over the place. Visitors here this morning. Good to have you. For those of you that have not been here, just to give you a little update, the last two weeks, if if if you haven't seen the last two weeks, particularly last week, last week, if you miss last week, then you're going to need to see last week or go back and watch it to fully understand where I'm going today. Because last week I talked about the need for the baptism, the Holy Spirit, and the week before that, it was called knowing Jesus. So we talked about knowing Jesus being truly born again, truly repenting of sin and that supernatural witness that you're born again and then developing a relationship with Jesus. Last week was about the next step that every believer, I believe every believer should take a lot don't because they choose not to or because they've been in denominations that taught them wrong about it. But about the baptism, the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. And we went through acts to acts 10 acts, chapter 19, first Corinthians 13 and 14. We went through those verses about the baptism of the Holy Spirit being filled. Not that you don't have the Holy Spirit in you when you are born again, but there is more. There's always more to be filled. And then even after they were filled, in fact, we see the disciples praying and asked for after they were filled, and they said, Lord, we want you to stretch forth your hand to heal and do signs and wonders and confirm your word. And it says that they were filled again. All right. See, this is the thing, too. I've been talking about never being satisfied, never being satisfied with thinking. Well, I'm this is why we have denominations. Denominations say, well, I got I got this much, so I'm satisfied right here. And then another group comes along and they go, well, no, there's a little bit more we need to go. They read a little further in the book. Right. That's what my dad did. Remember, I shared that last week. My dad got got saved.
We got born again in the Baptist Church right down here, Northside Baptist Church, 1979 ish somewhere in that time period. And my dad made the mistake after he was born again and baptized in water. So that's where the Baptist pretty much stopped. And my dad kept reading the book, got to that book of acts, started reading about this baptism, the Holy Spirit, the gifts of tongues and prophecy and healing and miracles and things like that, visions, words of knowledge, words of wisdom. So my dad goes and asked the pastor at the time, what about this? And he got the door slammed in his face. And because he was a baby Christian, that caused him to stumble and really set his life on a bad course for the next few years. Quite a few years, actually. So this is not about me picking on denominations. Frankly, I don't care about denominations, neither does Jesus. He cares about one thing. This right here. And you either live your Christian life by this book, the Bible of Genesis to the maps, or you choose to say you choose to pick and choose. And this is again, this is why we have denominations. This is why there are many Christians that can't seem to agree with each other on things. Because they won't stick to this in its context. And that's why we have these problems. If we would all just be as as you know what the Muslims call us, people of the book, that's what we're supposed to be. Problem with Christianity is we've got Christianity that don't like much of this book, entire denominations that come against things that are in this book. But we're not going to be that way, are we? Remember, we believe the whole Bible is the inspired, infallible word of God and is profitable for doctrine, right? For instruction that the man of God or woman of God may be perfect. That word perfect means mature, grow up, quit being a child spiritually, grow up and be thoroughly furnished under all good works. So see, if you're going to really I believe if you're going to fulfill your calling, the fullness of your calling, you are going to have to pursue the fullness of the Holy Spirit. And then you're going to have to learn to discern and hear the voice of God. I've entitled this this this morning. We're going to call it knowing the voice of the Lord. We've had knowing Jesus, knowing the Holy Spirit, knowing the voice of the Lord, knowing when he's speaking to you now. I got quite a few scriptures to go through, so I hope you have your Bibles this morning. And remember something Leonard Ravenhill, I may not have the quote exact, but Leonard Ravenhill said the problem in Western Christianity, you know, and he died in 1994. He's one of the great prophets, man, just man of God.
He wrote in 1959, Why Revival Terries? It's still just like he wrote it yesterday. He wrote the terrifying book Sodom Had No Bible. Think about that one for a minute. And he was just a man of God. I remember David Wilkerson talking about him. He was kind of David Wilkerson's mentor. And David Wilkerson was holding a pastor's conference in there in Times Square Church in New York. And by that time, I think Leonard Ravenhill was in his 80s. And he said, you know, all the pastors were there. And and so David Wilkerson said, Hey, Lynn, do you have anything to say to the pastors? And Lynn said, Yes. And they said he slowly shuffled up there to the pulpit. He said, You come to this conference this week and I'm sure there's going to be a lot of railing on what's wrong with America and all the sin that's in America and all the morality and all the political problems that's in America. He said, I'm going to tell you what the problem is. You the pastors. And he went and set out. So just give you a little hint about Leonard Ravenhill. He didn't play games. But he he made the statement at some point to the effect that he said Christianity in the West over the last few decades has become so subpar, subnormal that in anybody dares to try to live normal Christianity, they're seeing weird or extremist or, you know, you're one of those Pentecostal holy roll holy rollers. If you want to talk about hearing God's voice or visions or dreams or prophetic words, you know, but that is normal Christianity. And I'm about to show you that about to walk you through normal Christianity. In fact, that could be another title for this, but normal Christianity because normal Christianity is loving Jesus, loving the word of God, loving holiness and righteousness, loving people enough to do what you need to do so you can be an example to them and lead them to Jesus. And sometimes to do that, you're going to have to walk in the supernatural. And that means you're going to have to know sometimes their thoughts or the secrets of their heart. And I tell you, it's and I shared this, you know, I've talked about Jesus with the woman of the well several times in these last few weeks because it's so powerful because Jesus has given us an example of witnessing to somebody using the gifts of the Holy Spirit to jar them out of their spiritual slumber and blindness because he walks up to this woman and they start talking a little bit and they're getting nowhere, really. And then Jesus tells her, go get your husband. And then she goes, I don't have a husband. He said, yes, that's true. You've had five husbands and the one you have now is not your husband.
Oh, sir, I perceive thou art a prophet. Now, all of us want to say, well, that was Jesus. So that's not us. No, Jesus said this. In fact, put this scripture. We'll start with this scripture out here, John 1412. We're going to go through a lot of scripture today. So I hope you're warm and comfortable. Not sleepy, though, but warm and comfortable. But John 1412, I promise you, you're going to have plenty of Bible today. John 1412, Jesus said this very, very I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do, shall he do also and greater works than he shall he do because I go into my father. Everybody see that? He didn't say some of them that believe on me. He didn't say just the apostles. He didn't say just pastors or five old ministries. He said, no, he that believeth and believeth there for my fire and grace school of ministry students. That is a present tense Greek verb. And what is the definition of a present tense Greek verb? Ongoing, continuous action, taking place in the present. Absolutely. So he's saying he that believeth on me. This is a present tense. So that means everybody who would believe on him. He said, the works that I do, shall you do also and greater works than these. Well, let me tell you some of the things Jesus did. What did Jesus say? He said, I always do what I see my father do. I speak what he speaks to me. And Jesus would always go pray and do what he was told. And many times it is baptism, the amount of transfiguration. Many times, not just there would be a spiritual communication with him, but sometimes the people around would hear the voice from him, the voice of the Lord from him. And I want to say this to you. This is not just remember, I tell you all the time. Yes, Jesus Christ was God Almighty manifested in the flesh. That is the great mystery of Christianity. God became a man. But when he came here and took on flesh, became a man. He didn't come here to operate his ministry as God in the flesh. He could have. He chose to operate his ministry as a man anointed by God. That's where you get asked. Go ahead and put up acts 1038. It says how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth, who went about doing good, healing all who were oppressed of the devil. I go ahead and don't put it up, John. I mean, that acts 1038, a lot of scriptures are going through today. In fact, a lot of scriptures in the book of acts. And it interesting, you know, let me just say this.
They call it the acts of the apostles, but it just it wasn't just the acts of the apostles there. It was the acts of Agabus. It was the acts of Ananias. It was the acts of many different people. Priscilla and Aquila, Apollos. There's many people that would hear what the Lord was saying and would obey. And that was normal everyday Christianity. But there it is right there. Now, if Jesus was going to operate as God in the flesh, why would he be need to be anointed? You get what I'm saying? It's not. Remember, it talks about Philippians, how he set aside, though he equal with God, set aside that and humbled himself and became a man. He operated as a man. Now, because he didn't have Adam's lineage fully from the father's side, he had the father. He could live the holy life, the sinless life supernaturally because nobody else could do that but him. But everything else he did by prayer, that's why he went and prayed. They asked him, Lord, how do you do these things? What do you do these things? And, you know, they tried to cast out demons one time this kid and they couldn't cast the demons out and they said, why couldn't we do it? He said, this only comes by prayer and fasting. See, he was showing them when he would go pray and when he would fast, he was showing this is how you do it. See, he was just being an example. He was being a good teacher, a good teacher. Doesn't just tell you, they show you, right? And that's the way he was doing now. Let's start. We're going to go to John. Let's go to John, first, 16 will be in John for a minute. Then we're going to go to Acts. I even went old school this morning and wrote me a list last night. That's the way I used to do it for years. Just write paper, actual real paper with John 16. Oh, let's see here. You all OK if we teach the Bible in church on Sunday morning? All right. Now let's go to John 16. I guess we'll go to verse five. We'll read there. Well, Jesus was talking to them about when he would go away. He was going to send the Holy Spirit. He said, But now I go my way to him that sent me, and none of you asketh me whither goest thou? But because I have said these things, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless, I tell you the truth. It is expedient or better. Think about this. Jesus is better for you than I go away, for if I go not away, the comforter will not come to you, but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he has come, he will reprove or convict or convince the world of sin,
of righteousness and of judgment, of sin, because they believe not on me of righteousness, because I go to my father and you see me no more and of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. And then Jesus says this to them. I have yet many things to say unto you, but you cannot bear them now. So the Lord is saying, even though I'm here in the flesh talking to you, it's better that I go and send the Holy Spirit to you. Why is that? Because Jesus in the flesh could be only in one place at one time. Right. But after he would die on the cross to pay the penalty for sin and be resurrected from the dead, then he could send his spirit to dwell in anybody washed in his blood, cleansed, regenerated, born again. He can send his spirit into a everyone that would receive. Now, think about that, how powerful that is. The Lord knew it's better if I get my Holy Spirit in all of you than for me to be here. We need to let that register in our heads because you're supposed to be doing what he did on this earth, teaching the truth, hearing the voice of the Lord and operating in the supernatural. That's what you're supposed to be doing as a Christian. If you're not doing that, then you're not fulfilling the calling and destiny and purpose of your life. And that's probably why you're depressed and discouraged and feel like I'm not doing anything. Let me tell you, if you spend enough time with the Lord and get make sure you get the sin out of your life and get the doubt out of your life and get your own will and plans out of your life and you get all that crucified and you take up your cross and start fasting and praying. I promise you, you're going to start hearing the Holy Spirit because he's got some stuff for you to do. And if you start doing that, that's when your life has purpose. That's when you feel the most joyful and satisfied as a Christian when you know you are doing the will of God for your life. There's nothing more satisfying. And two, I'm going to tell you this. Back in 21, when I was like laying there about to die and Troy was there with me, he was there before me a few months. I know one thing I was sitting there saying, Lord, you know what? I was I could say I've done what you've told me to do. I may have not done it all perfect, but I tried to hear your voice fast and pray and minister to as many people as I possibly could and not do my own will for my life. And so what I'm saying was when I thought I was about to die, which I was, the doctor told my wife, you didn't think I was going to make it. I could say this, though, I knew I had finished my course, but I said, Lord, I don't think you through with me yet.
But when you get to that point, will you be able to say, I fought a good fight? I finished what you gave me to do, Lord. You know, Leonard Ravenhill used to say, it's not what I've done that scares me. It's what I haven't done. It's also on his tombstone are the things you're living for worth Christ dying for. He's still got that finger pointing out from his tombstone at. Let's read this. Let's keep reading. Oh, we have so much now, he said, I have many things to say into you, but you cannot bear it. And now that's verse 12. Now we go to verse and he said now he said, I've many things to say to you. How be it when he the spirit of truth is calm, the Holy Spirit, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me, for he shall receive of mine and show it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine. Therefore, said I, he shall take of mine and show it unto you. You need to you need to focus in on just a few words here. He said the Holy Spirit will come and he will he will speak to you. Somebody say speak, not just the words on this page. He wants to speak to you. Like I've said many times when I was in Washington, D.C. in 2008, there's nowhere in the Bible that says, Dean, go back to Opelika and start a church. But the Holy Spirit told me that you get it. So I wouldn't have known what to do just from the scriptures. But now remember this, the Holy Spirit will never tell you anything that contradicts the scriptures, nor will he ever lead you to do anything immoral or against his law, his word, his rules. He's never going to tell you to go commit adultery. He's never going to tell you to go get drunk. He's never going to tell you to divorce your spouse without a biblical reason. You understand? He's never going to tell you to go smack somebody. He's not going to tell you to go to the casino and put it all on red or black. You understand? So there's nowhere me going to start a church is not violating the principles of scripture. Plus, I already knew that that was part of the calling upon my life was to start and plant churches. So, okay, and the Lord gave me a sign.
He spoke to me, said they're going to fire you. This is in October. They're going to fire you in November 30th. Go to Opelika. Go back to your hometown and start a church. And I've told you I got a phone call from an old friend had no idea. I hadn't told anybody didn't tell my wife about the Lord speaking this to me because I was going to pray about it for a while and a friend of mine calls me from here in Opelika said there's some people in Opelika to be interested. If you in a church, you kind of church you would start I thought wasn't that interesting? I didn't even tell them that I say a word. I didn't want to I didn't want the devil to know. Sometimes you don't need to you can keep your mouth shut. Are you just asking for trouble, right? So he will speak to you. He's going to lead you and guide you into all truths. He's going to teach you the word. How better to have the Holy Spirit helping you understand the Bible as you read it and study it. I can't tell you how many times he's helped me understand things that I had no understanding of and I couldn't find it the answers from anybody. I had to get it from him, but he said he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever. He shall hear that. Shall he speak so he's going to speak to you. He's going to guide you into all truth, but he's also going to at times show you things to come. Sometimes you need a heads up on some things. The Lord's told me some stuff ahead of time and I'm so glad he did so y'all don't know there's a little story here where there was a dream that someone had that shared with us and I knew by the witness of the Holy Spirit that it was from the Lord and what it was was that basically someone was going to come here and they said they were going to be that they that their their job was going to be a forklift operator, but they were a pedophile. So a guy shows up. This is weeks or a few months later a guy shows up, but I follow that I knew it was a prophetic dream a warning because a lot of dreams are warnings. So this guy online keeps telling me he's going to come here from across the country and he tells me he's going to come here and I tell him do not come here. I just had a bad feeling do not come here. Guess what a week later on Sunday morning. He's standing in here strike one, right? But we go to lunch with him and back then before covid we all went to these big, you know, we take 20 30 people and go to lunch and we'd always take make sure the visitors would go we could go to lunch with everybody. Well, he starts talking some crazy stuff to I think it was the sister and y'all down on the other end of the table and it became obvious that this guy was
probably some kind of MK ultra person, but we won't get into that right now, but long story short, he was talking about coming back here. He was camping. I think he was camping at Tuskegee National Park or whatever, but it got so heavy and then we found out that he was going to take a job as a forklift operator here and then I found out because he you know, it's weird. Some people get around us. I don't care if they're agents or infiltrators or whatever they might be it's almost like because they get around the Holy Spirit. It's like truth serum. They say stuff that I'm just like I can't believe you just confess that but he started talking about to just having having fantasies about killing a bunch of people. Yeah, and then he let that out and then he let it out that he couldn't see his children and I was like, so he said he was going to come back Wednesday night. Well, I got such a feeling of from the Lord a warning deal with this now. So I called him on the phone before Wednesday. I called him on the phone and said look, here's the deal. There was a prophetic dream about you before you got here and said you were forklift operator. It just happens to be what you do. I said, let me ask you a question. I still have the recording and my wife was sitting next to so she can tell you this is true. I said, why can you not see your children and he just spit it out because he had molested them when they were young and I told him you pack your stuff and you move on now that was again, this is this is this is giving you kind of an inside look at kind of some of the stuff I deal with that y'all don't even know about I could y'all don't know half the stories of the crap that happens and the people that come around. And so trust me. Let me let me just say this those of you if you ever see me send somebody down the road. There is a good reason. All right, so I want everybody to come but don't come with all that stuff and there are warnings and this is and this is going to be important for you because in the days ahead the Lord is going to want to warn you about some things. There's going to be some times where you're going to have to really know the voice of the Lord because you're going to he's going to say don't go there today or the woman that had to dream about Walmart. There's going to be a day. You can't go to Walmart. I don't go there now. Anyway, I don't like it, but they're going to use
Walmart's they're going to use Walmart's to vaccinate you and stamp you with the mark of the beast. You mark it down. It's coming but they're going to do it at the mega churches and they'll be they'll be they'll be lining people up to get the mark. They'll be Christians thinking they're supposed to get it. What did you see that now? Let's go to this John 10 quickly back up to John 10 man. That's that's only the introduction. We got a long way to go. You say Pastor Dean as you turn to John 10, how do you how do you hear his voice? Well, how do you know? All right, remember Elijah talked about God speaking in a still small voice. Okay, so when I'm talking about hearing the voice of the Lord, it's it's rarely going to be audible where your natural ears here like you hear me right now rarely ever but he speaks in a still small voice where his thoughts come in to you and override your thoughts. The devil does the same stuff to you. I can prove it right now. If you have like hideous horrible terrible gruesome evil thoughts come in your head, you're like, I wasn't thinking about nothing like that. I wasn't watching anything like that. I wasn't listening to anything like that. Let me tell you what that is. That's demons putting those thoughts overriding your thoughts trying to make you accept them as your thoughts. But the Lord can speak to you the Holy Spirit can come in and speak to you and override your thoughts and it's just like sometimes it's so strong. You just you know, it's like no question and then when the Holy Spirit overrides your thoughts with his thoughts and is telling you something or revealing to you something there are times where he will also witness that by his presence touching that peace that sense of God's presence and power will just just sometimes just gently touch you when you hear that and so you're getting two witnesses. All right now granted a lot of times people think they're hearing from the Lord and it's their own thoughts and they're not they haven't really matured and learned enough how to scrutinize between the two and you have to be this is something you have to be very careful with don't play games with this. This is not a toy to play around with but God wants you to begin to discern his voice and hear his voice like I was working with this guy one time. You remember the boxer from from Rhode Island and the Holy Spirit we're working and the Holy Spirit told me said this guy didn't have a father in his life and that's why he is the way he is and I was going to talk to him about it and
it never worked out for us to talk because he moved off the job or something and but I ended up getting invited to his child's birthday party before he left here and sat down in his living room and he showed me his life. He's a professional boxer for a while and he was pretty good at it and he told me he said yeah he said I never had my dad just left us abandon us and and you could tell he was still hurt and angry by that and I was able to I and I talked to him about Jesus through that now and I told the Lord it's like I wished I had told him this before he told me it had a lot more impact on him but it was like the opportunity never really really for me to talk to him but these are things that I'm telling you the Lord can speak to you about things the Lord's told me at times during church service. He is pointed someone out and said the spirit of suicide is working on their mind and on their heart and sure enough I'll say it there's someone in here struggling with suicidal thoughts and I've had people come up and confess that yeah that was me and it would be people you would never ever think would have been struggling with such a thing. That's why Jesus many times Jesus said when he was talking to the Pharisees and sometimes when he was preaching to a crowd it said when Jesus knew their thoughts well this is just supernatural and God can speak to you and show you what somebody's thinking or what they're what they're troubled with what's what's tormenting them or hurting them and this is powerful when you can walk up to them and tell them and they know I tell you what I've seen people just break down in tears because that at that moment they realize God does care about me. He cared enough about me to tell this person so they come up and talk to me. So I would know that it wasn't me that it was really God speaking to me. This is again this is Bible. Now it was John 10. Let's look at this verse 1. Let's read this. There's so much I want to read. I just can't I'm not going to get to it all day but verily verily he said I say unto you he that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold but climb it up some other way the same as a thief and a robber but he that enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep to him the porter openeth and the sheep hear his voice and he calleth his own sheep by name and leadeth them out and when he put it forth his own sheep he goeth before them and the sheep follow him for they know his voice now let's pause right there the sheep follow him because they know his voice now folks a lot of people just think oh that just means the Bible just the Scriptures know the word voice is not
the written word you hear me phone a is the Greek word it's not logos. It's not Rhema. It's phone a it's completely different. It means sound the hearing of sound. It means you hear something you perceive it you discern it see a lot of folks let me tell you where a lot of Christians are everybody know the story we're gonna we're gonna come back hold your spot in John 10 put up first Samuel 3 verse 1 here's where a lot of Christians are my show you we went for two hours last week we may not go that long but close we're not the seeker sensitive 30-minute 20-minute sermon Church okay never will be you're in class all right here we go in the child Samuel minister to the Lord remember Samuel he was the miracle child Hannah couldn't have she just prayed said I'll dedicate this child to you when the when Samuel reached what was it 12 years old think she said delivered him to the temple to serve be a servant so he was being trained to be a priest but God was good had other plans for him to be a prophet now says the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli Eli was the high priest and the word of the Lord was precious in those days and there was no open vision now let's look at this word well we'll keep reading first and it says and it came to keep going and it came to pass at that time when Eli was laid down in his place and his eyes began to wax them that he could not see keep going and air the lamp of God went out in the temple of the Lord where the Ark of God was and Samuel was laid down to sleep that the Lord called Samuel and he answered here am I keep going and he ran into Eli and said here am I for that is called me and he said I called not lie down again and he went and lay down again and the Lord called Samuel again now this went on a couple of times and then he realized this is the Lord speaking to me and the Lord gave him a word that was not good for Eli and his sons because they were evil they were wicked they were not doing the Lord's work righteously and honestly but here's where a lot of Christians are and go back to the first verse they're serving the Lord but they are yet to truly discern and hear the voice of the Lord and this is something you have to ask for and you have to desire what what inspired me as of course reading the Bible studying the Bible first and foremost but I remember hearing ministers way back we know right when I I rededicated
my life in 87 people like David Wilkerson Leonard Ravenhill at the time Jimmy Swaggart before his fall and horrible stuff it went on there but other people like Larry Lee I remember ministers that would talk about I was praying and the Lord spoke to me and this is what he said as if it's this is the normal way it's supposed to be and I'm like huh and then you read the Bible and of course the Bible confirms that this is the way it's supposed to be they're supposed to be seasons and times that you hear Jesus the Shepherd you're supposed to hear his voice so you can follow him right and I love this about salmon now it says in those days there were no open vision I want you to see this this is this is important you got those definitions of open first the word open here in Hebrew is this word per us but it's interesting because it means breakthrough go to the next one show this I think I gave you several there you go to be broken through broken down burst open keep going there you go there's the brown driver Briggs lexicon breakthrough I find this interesting and then let's go to the word for the definition of vision has on and it is vision but I like what it says here vision Oracle prophecy somebody say divine communication so what he's saying there was no divine communication that would give us breakthrough now think about that for a minute you have got to hear from the Lord to be able to move forward and again yeah there's nowhere in the in the written word that says Dean Odell Mary Nancy do little so we both had to have some divine communication because both of us were done with that whole marriage thing we already had been through enough bad stuff of that we were like nope no more both of us were at the same but no more not doing that again so the Lord had to break through to us with some divine communication and that's how we knew

offered to me bigger than that and the Lord said that's not for you I've had jobs offered to me it's like no it's not what you're supposed to do now I remember when I was 23 man let me tell you something when I was 23 I was benching 300 pounds I could spin back he's been in heel kick seven feet in the air I wouldn't be toyed with all right and I got a call from Governor Bob James they wanted me to be be part of a private security team because they were they were having trouble trusting the state police at the time and I was like wow this would be awesome and at the time I was looking at becoming doing the ministry but also being a police officer my job was I was going to I had all kind of plans and I was even accepted into the Montgomery Police Department because of the mayor said I was the end I was honest on the the form I said I did drugs into my teenage years and they kicked me out and then I had a judge friend who talked to the mayor Emory Falmer at the time and said you're in if you want to be in and then I get the call from the governor's office do you want to be part of his private security and back then man you want about toting a gun and being able to whoop somebody's butt if I want if I needed to oh yeah that sounded great to me like wow this is right up my alley here all right but I remember saying no I have to go pray now what a cool job that would have been right private security for the governor nope the Lord said that's not my plan for you son and that you know that 23 year old Dean's like oh that would have been fun but I couldn't have done what he wanted me to do and at that time well you know what he wanted me to do was start a church in Montgomery Alabama and see that was in like 94 I think it was somewhere around the 94 and the Lord had me start the church in 95 and I couldn't have done everything I and to at the time I had to travel and then the Brownsville revival started and he wanted me going down there and then I started the church in Georgia so it wouldn't have been I couldn't have done that job and do what God called me to do you see and I look back on that now and go thank God I listen because you know what I needed those years those next seven years to learn how to pastor how to plant
churches I it was it was on the job training it was a lot of learning and I wouldn't be the pastor of the teacher that I am today if I hadn't have gone through all that and I hadn't learned all that so what I'm saying is you've got to be able to win something that looks all glittery glitter and gold and wonderful and everything and it may be handed to you on a silver platter and the Lord's like no no see that's why I dropped the modeling career and the movies and all that it was like no when the Lord got a hold of me when I was 19 he was like you walk away from all that I knew I didn't he did I didn't even have asked I knew I knew there wasn't no way I'm gonna be in diehard one I had I had to say nope can't be in that I mean I don't know what part I could have done it would have been Christian I mean I was gonna be one of the terrorists or I promise not but I remember that I did the screen test for all my all my children one life to live you know all those soap operas I didn't know I first got signed my contract and I did the screen test and there that's how I got the part and diehard they saw the the screen test they're like you're in man you're in and I remember when the Lord got a hold of me just a few months later it was like dropped it like a hot potato because I knew that wasn't God just showed me that was not his wheel for my life and I walked away from it I was people were already having me sign autographs that's where it was already going I was having to sign autographs and I hadn't been in the movie yet and I know now had I not listened and gone that direction I would be a dead man I'd be in hell right now because the old Dean only knew how to party at one speed Mary Lou knows let's keep going Jesus stands at the door now I think about that whole time it would bother me I would be troubled if I wasn't hearing from the Lord about things and and listen this doesn't mean I hear something every day or every time I go to pray let me let me make sure I don't care the most spiritual people are not going to be hearing stuff every day if you are it's probably not God somebody's got a prophecy every day mmm no it's not the way it works in fact let me blow your mind a little bit more Psalm 32 the

the glory of God in Hebrew is kabald and it means heaviness like heavy not heaviness as in sadness but weightiness and his glory I mean I'm gonna tell you it felt like the best thing in the world just to the point that I was there for an hour there's thousands of people walk it all around I mean this was a Saturday night so it's like one in the morning they start flipping the lights on and off like y'all got to get out now by this time I had sat there and laid in the presence of God the manifest glory of God on me for an hour to the point now I was literally drunk in the spirit meaning I couldn't get up because it felt like I'd had you know several shots of of alcohol there because he says my love is better than why and it is I remember the night the day the Lord told me that she was my wife and we were walking around stinky park and in Georgia and Bradford pear trees they stink and it was and we're walking around this park and and I'm walking with her and the presence of God comes on me see this is again how did I know I was scared to get married again and here the Lord's telling me as I'm walking with her and we're talking about other things we're just talking along but the Holy Spirit saw me and he's getting stronger stronger stronger and then I don't know what laugh we had been around she was a walker that man and the Lord told me she was my wife and I mean let me tell you I was drunk in the spirit and the Lord brought that verse to me your love is better than wine and and it was that that strong presence and witness of the Holy Spirit with his voice because he knew I needed to know for sure about getting married and then the Lord did similar with her so what I'm saying is is that God as Christians God wants us to live and walk this way all the time we shouldn't decide who we're going to marry on our own we shouldn't decide where we're going to work we shouldn't decide where we're going to go to church we shouldn't decide we should be seeking God about everything that's why you guys you know I know the Bible says and the multitude of counselors their safety and there is and it's good to get counsel but ultimately every individual person is responsible to make sure you hear the Lord yourself and you check it by the scriptures and sometimes you have to put those things you hear on the back burner and let God confirm them miss things I think the
Lord's telling me now for me to do in the future but I'm like ah that one's going on the back burner and said it don't simmer we're gonna wait and see and you know what the Lord's good about if if if it's him he will confirm it multiple ways he'll bring people to confirm it he'll give you a dream and what I'm saying he'll heal he will let you know so that you can be sure you're not doing it of your own mind and your own thoughts or your own desires and I'll tell you a good thing you know it's like usually when you don't want to do something at all and the Lord's like this is what I wanted you to do pretty good sign but if it's something that you might want to do you better check yourself before you wreck yourself right better make sure and there's things I said on the back burner I made I made a mistake one time let me tell you I made a mistake because I felt like the Lord I felt like I was supposed to go back to Africa in 2006 but there was there was so much turmoil at that time in my life and I remember when I was on the phone this is my second trip to Nigeria that I almost didn't make it back from and I remember on the phone when I'm buying the ticket and I remember talking to the travel agent and I was talking to the people in Nigeria and I was buying the ticket I had that heavy feeling come on me like not time to go and sure enough I almost didn't come home from that one because I got there airports and turmoil Muslims taking trying to take over the north of Nigeria Nigeria is like two countries north and south and I was supposed to go the south but you got to fly into the north and it's dangerous and that's when I got taken and held in a little jail cell for 12 hours pulled out crisp hundred-dollar bills to bribe them just let me through no they wouldn't even look at me like oh this that's not good because one US dollars 134 there's back then and I remember going now where am I doing God got me out of there I mean you know they marched me out in the darkness with ak-47s and I thought well this could be it three soldiers they're their officer their commander two soldiers with ak-47s marching me out into the darkness we're going out and empty hangers out in the Legos International Airport it's dark and ain't nobody out there and it was nighttime as midnight and then the door opens and I see a KLM Dutch airplane out there I'm like I hope
they're either about to shoot me in the head or put me on that airplane I don't know which one it is and we walked up to that airplane they said all they said to me the whole 12 hours go and that's when I went up and sat down in first class on a Dutch airline and flew back through the Amsterdam Atlanta but that right there I should have never went but God had mercy on my stupidity not listening I'll tell you that that right there that witness I know this right here let the peace of God rule your hearts this scripture the word rule there is the gives the idea and the Greek language of an umpire that calls something safe or out and Paul had this when the woman with divination came and remember she was saying these men are servants of the Most High God in Acts 16 and it said Paul being grieved in his spirit because she had done this many days there's this in your spirit right here you'll feel it it's not your physical heart but you will feel right here sometimes a heavy bad almost pressing crush it's not a heart attack but you'll just feel this like heaviness come over you and a pressing and it's like it's your spirit being grieved and it's warning you and it's that umpire saying this situation or this person or this thing you're about to do is not good and then but then if the if you're about to do something you're praying about God's will and in this peace from God comes over you I call it the red light green light some people call it the wit just the simple witness of the Holy Spirit and say he don't have to say words to you every time I've listened to that yes or no it's been right every time I have it listen and went ahead when I got warned bad every time but God wants us to be like that he don't have it's just like you know sometimes parents with children don't we say this to our children especially after they grow up a little bit I'm tired of saying the same thing over and over over again I'm tired of talking to you you should just know by the look on my face now my girls did know by the look of my face ain't no hiding here I remember looking at them my older girls one time who they knew Danny playing y'all me tell you one more let me tell you one more see this is this is how powerful this is how clear and powerful the Lord wants you hearing from me my my oldest daughter Caitlin and I don't mind telling this story because she's still a rebel but this is what God tried to do to bring her out of
it 2012 she's graduates from Southern Union she's dating a guy that went to Auburn Joe Joe came to Thanksgiving that year and that's all I had to do was meet him one time and I had this whole I knew so I'm thinking praying for my daughter she'll figure this guy out but she didn't takes after the other side I'm not being mean I'm just telling you she comes to me this is my she was 19 at the time she comes to me and tells me she is moving to Chicago to live with this guy not to marry him but to live in sin with this guy and the Holy Spirit comes all over me and I said well I have something to tell you I said and this is the Lord I told I said number one he doesn't love you number two he doesn't want to have children and number three he is a closet homosexual this is what the Holy Spirit told my daughter was so angry with me she cussed me using the effort now I told her at that time I said if you were 19 year old boy you'd be picking yourself up off the ground so she rebels she moves to Chicago to live with this guy and I think it was two three years she was there now this is sad she still hadn't learned her lesson but this is sad but everything happened she got there she found out he didn't love oh and I told yeah he didn't love her wouldn't marry her she thought she they were gonna get married he didn't marry her said I don't want to get married then as they're living together for a while don't want to have children and then the final straw she finally she catches him in his homosexual activities with his buddies now does she call dad and say dad you heard from the Lord Jesus let me come home from the pig pen mm-hmm she tells my middle daughter Bethany the whole story and says these words don't tell dad because dad will say he hears from God and warned you she still will not talk to me because the last time I text her we had a little tiff I reminded her I said you're still angry about that and that was the Lord
supernaturally speaking to you through me and telling you everything that was going to happen to protect you and I said it was to protect you from all of that hurt and pain that brought into your life and all of that darkness it brought into your life still to this day she will will not discuss it well you got to be stubborn that's what we should have named her shouldn't have been Caitlin should be stubborn now I love I love them I'm praying for both of them but that's how that's how God wants us to be he wants us to be discerning and listen speaking the truth to somebody is not always going to be what's nice and sweet and comfortable sometimes it's going to be here's what's going to happen and you're not going to like this I've told some people the Lord's had me tell some people if you don't repent if you don't fix this if you don't deal with this this is going to happen to you and it's happened to them I mean exactly in detail because it was from the Lord so some of what you're going to hear sometimes is a warning for people God didn't want her going to Chicago God didn't want her living with that creep and I want to tell you what there are people there are people going to hear from Lord and just like that they're going to still be stubborn and then there's people though who are going to hear and they're going to know it's the Lord and they're going to melt and give their lives to Jesus just like the woman at the well what I could tell you again I could tell you story after story about it but you need to ask yourself this do I hear his voice am I truly surrendered to the will of God above everything else have I been filled with the Holy Spirit baptized in holy but do the gifts of the Holy Spirit operate in my life if not then you're settling you know pastor Dean you may say well I've prayed for that but it didn't happen you better keep praying you see sometimes the Lord says you know what I'm going to see if they're serious about this so he holds back he doesn't always answer immediately he doesn't always give us what we want when we want sometimes he wants to see how bad we want it and that's why back in my younger days I remember back in my younger days when I was like all I want to do is be led by the Holy Spirit here and do your will for my life and so I would fast 21 days when that no food 21 day I fasted 14 days I fasted seven day I fasted myself down to 160 pounds I'm not saying
anybody should do that I'm just telling you that's where I was I was like Lord I'm gonna fast and pray I want to be a person that hears your voice I want to see people healed and delivered from demons I want to see the real Christianity in and through my life and you know what man I came out of that 21 day fast and walked up to a deaf woman and prayed for her and knew her hearing was coming back and it did I pray for a crippled woman in Montgomery Mary Elizabeth crippled for two years in a wheelchair and this I'll tell you this what's different anybody can walk up to somebody and say rise up and walk in the name of Jesus it may or may not happen but I can tell you this when the Lord tells you to lay hands on somebody and say tell them I said for them to rise up and walk in the name of Jesus that's what happened I was praying for her and the Holy Spirit spoke to me the Lord said tell her I said for her not you saying tell her I said for her to rise up and more I said Jesus tells me to tell you he said not me he said for you to rise up and walk and she stood up and her knees completely healed instantly and she's walking to this day the the that miracle went all over Montgomery that's why Tom Parker started coming to my Bible study back in 1993 because he heard about that but it wasn't me it was because I could you could bring 15 20 people in here in a wheelchair and I could just pray over them but I can't do anything unless God moves but if God starts speaking he's gonna start moving and it happened at Skyfall with that woman who was on her deathbed they were I mean she could hardly walk and I remember praying for her and I the Lord told me cast two demons out of her and she's testified to you right now she was about at death's door had to lay down on the seats couldn't even walk up to the altar and I remember the Lord said cast two demons out of her cast out of her the spirit of addiction and the spirit of death and I bound those demons and commanded them come out and then I heard the Lord say tell her to rise up healed tell her I said for her to rise up and I said the Lord said to you for you to rise up healed in Jesus name and I'm gonna tell you what she was laying on the seats boop popped up like a jack-in-the-box that's like kind of startled me and then I said this is a woman that could not hardly stand up I said can you stand stood right up I said well can you walk with me she took my walk back to the back of the room and then she just took off and left me and she'll tell you to stay her her I mean she was dying from
years of alcohol and drug addiction she said she she talked she sent me a message of the day she said even my skin is cleared up she's like I'm an I'm a completely different person so see the Lord can do anything it's about and then sometimes it's about us hearing what do I need to change in my life maybe the Lord wants you to change something so he can do something else in your life I remember the Lord told me when I had to deal with unforgiveness you want to talk about something that'll get in your way oh and it may be legitimate hurt you were wronged and you were legitimately hurt they hurt you they wronged you the Lord said you must forgive from the heart and not hold it against them and not be desiring ill will and revenge and bad things that happen to them the Lord to get them sometimes you're not gonna get anything unless you you deal with unforgiveness and sometimes it can be from parents that hurt you sibling your best friend well let me tell you I've been stabbed in the back by people I considered my closest friends I mean stabbed and twisted you got to forgive them right it doesn't mean you have to turn you back to them again but you got to forgive them your homework read a book of Acts before next Sunday it's only 28 chapters come on do that in a week all right you'll you'll be ready for next for part two or is this part four let's stand we're gonna do this song and this song is I wanted to do it last week but it's I think it's more appropriate this week but this should be your prayer right here remember Jesus said my sheep hear my voice and they follow me God willing in the creek don't rise we'll go through some things I wanted to point out and acts next week but just know if you are born again and you love Jesus and you're walking with Jesus and you're hungry and thirsty to be filled and to be led by Jesus and to have the gifts of the Spirit so you can you can walk in this supernatural walk see I can I

and hearts to understand Lord God you said through Apostle Paul he prayed for the Christians at Ephesus he said I pray that the eyes of your understanding be enlightened that you'd be given the spirit of wisdom and revelation or you want us to be filled with the knowledge of your will God you want us to be sheep that hear your voice and follow you and you have things for us to do Lord that now we can't pull out of the scriptures about where to work or go to church or like you have to reveal those things speak those things confirm those things yes warnings you're gonna give us about things in the days ahead and we need to heed those warnings and we pray this in Jesus name amen y'all me tell you a warning one time I didn't heed I got the evidence of it I went to a certain dentist in Montgomery back in the day and I I was like I had this horrible feeling like don't go here should have listened cuz that woman drilled down too far in a tooth and killed the tooth but then just covered up her error so it took several years before we found out that it was dead and right before I went to Africa actually the first time had to have a root canal and they said he said had you gone to Africa with this you would be in the middle of a big infection and I was like I didn't listen so it's that important on small things you hear me when when after I took all the vaccines to go to Africa in 2002 and came back with the autoimmune psoriatic arthritis I remember they prescribed for me Vioxx and Celebrex and the Holy Spirit said do not take these and it wasn't but about a year later they had to be pulled off the market about a year or two later because they were causing strokes and heart attacks in fact Vioxx is one of the biggest pharmaceutical disasters in history they paid billions over that one but I mean think I think how rare it is for them have to pull one off the market and I was about to be pumping it down so you got to listen you got to listen on everything amen all right everybody stay here because I got a little announcement to make but we can say bye to our audience out there y'all hug some necks before you leave y'all know that rule I said it children I've had children cuz if I don't say that the kids get upset so love y'all God bless
