i knew the lord would have me preach on it because he just kept laying it on my heart over and over because you know i have in the past talked about this subject but i think the lord wants me to cover some areas that don't usually get covered in it but i want to talk to you about about divine healing this morning about the mystery of healing healing is a mystery sometimes how many of you know god still heals amen we believe that god heals how many even though sometimes that god doesn't heal amen there's reasons at times for that but i want to i want us to look at it a little closely this morning take your bibles with me turn to isaiah 53. this ought to be a familiar passage of scripture to most everyone in here but i'm going to preach this a little bit so i don't ever turn my mic down a little bit because i feel the preach coming on this morning because i feel good about this amen god is a healer praise god but he's not only a healer i think some people in the body of christ they get so focused in on that they miss so many other important things but as christians we got to deal with this subject of sickness sickness and disease why does god allow sickness and disease why do things happen why do uh you know sometimes we tend to think well if somebody if somebody has a problem they must be in sin or there must be an open door that can be the case but then there's godly christians living godly lives that sometimes they get attacked sometimes god permits things everybody ought to know the book of job pretty well we also know paul had a thorn in the flesh we may talk about that this morning a little bit but i just want you to know something i want to read this and i want to make this statement let's read isaiah 53 of course this is the the prophecy in the old testament 700 and approximately 750 years before jesus was born that gives judaism fits because this talks about the suffering messiah and uh that he would basically be bruised for our iniquities and but let's just read it isaiah 53 verse 5 but he was wounded for our transgressions he was bruised for our iniquities the chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed you ought to underline that in your bible if you don't but you know i want to say this after reading this statement divine healing or supernatural healing of the physical body is provided for in the atonement and the atoning work of jesus i don't even know why that's even debatable i don't know where these these you know these denominations these schools of theology where they get the idea that somehow god changed and somehow that god said that in the
same verse where he said he would be wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities it also says that by his stripes we are healed so within the same verse speaking of the atonement of jesus christ and his shed blood on the cross and he shed blood being whipped and beaten and the crown of thorns and everything every every part of that every drop of blood that he shed was to deal with our sins our iniquities our sicknesses our diseases the power of the devil jesus came to deal with those things now jesus dealt with them amen jesus dealt with them on the cross he said it is finished then he rose from the dead he cast the the keys of hell and death but how many of you know we're still down here as paul said in first corinthians 13 we see through a glass darkly we don't all see it perfectly we don't all have it perfectly and we don't all minister perfectly now when i say that we know that that jesus it says here that healing is in the atonement right all right that's very clear then when jesus came to the earth and did his ministry we know that what he taught he preached he healed sick bodies he says he healed every manner of sickness and disease he worked miracles which are different than healing sometimes they go together but still they can't be different he worked miracles and he cast out demons right those are what jesus did then jesus when he died on the cross and he left that ministry transferred to the church okay jesus did he not say and i'm just going to quote some verses for you this morning because you ought to know these but mark 16 15-20 if you want to turn there you can i just know that one by heart mark 16 15-20 it says this go ye into all the world preach the gospel to every creature he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved he that believeth not shall be damned and these signs shall follow them that believe in my name they will cast out devils they will speak with new tongues they shall take up serpents that's taking authority over demons it says if they drink any deadly thing it will not hurt them they will lay hands on the sick and they shall recover jesus carried this on further when he see he he gave his apostles an anointing to go out and heal the sick and um and let's just turn let's look at a verse um sometimes i think this gets a little misunderstood go to to acts chapter 10. acts chapter 10 everybody get there for a second jesus um it's interesting somehow sometimes you just have to you have to look at something i don't know why this verse came to my mind
maybe this is for somebody but you know jesus came on the earth and and he as i said he taught and he preached and he healed and he cast out demons and he did miracles but what does it say here let's look at this this is a famous uh well-known passage about jesus ministry of healing and and dealing with the devil but look what it what it says here in acts 10 38 says how god anointed jesus of nazareth with the holy ghost in power who went about doing good healing all that were oppressed with the devil for god was with him now what's interesting you know we we have to be careful sometimes when it says all that we're oppressed did jesus heal everybody in israel no but he did heal everybody he ministered to big difference if he had healed everybody in israel there would have been anybody left for the apostles to heal you know i think jesus purposefully left the lame man at the gate beautiful that was laid there every day for john and uh and peter as a witness to his resurrection as a witness to the sanhedrin that this jesus thing wasn't going away you know jesus could heal that man matter of fact it's it's pretty much believed by bible scholars and theologians that jesus walked by that man every day and didn't heal it okay because it was for another time it was for another reason all right i'll get to some of that in a minute but jesus went about doing good he was anointed of god went about doing good healing all that were oppressed with the devil so let me say this about sickness and disease sickness and disease are part of the fall it's part of the curse it's part of something that we inherited from adam and eve that got passed down to mankind of course how many of you know that before adam and eve sinned there was no sickness disease or death in the garden of eden right so that got passed down to us now as we are walking with jesus we're working out our salvation with fear and trembling is that you know what what philippians 2 says work out your own salvation with fear and trembling so salvation is a process of learning it's a process of growing it's a process of understanding we don't all get it all at one time amen i mean you get born again i believe you get saved you get regenerated you get a new spirit and all that and but we got things to learn our faith needs to grow we need to know the word we need to be in fellowship i mean there's a lot of things that we need to do but the bottom line is is that this thing is not all you know we don't have it all at one time um i am now almost 25 years into this i mean and i'm not talking about i don't even count the years when i got saved when i was young and and there was a little time there that i i walked with god as i should have but i don't even count that but i'm talking about as an adult spirit filled going after god reading the word believing in
healing believing in miracles casting out demons and and i think i know a little bit about this subject um just some of you have heard these things something not i have i have seen i've laid my hands on a deaf person and their hearing came back in jesus name i've prayed for a crippled woman who was in a wheelchair for two and a half years that had not walked and she got up and walked okay i prayed for people that the doctors said would be dead in two or three days of the cancer that had been eating their bodies up for years i'm not talking about they had months i'm talking about days and it disappeared i've seen people in a coma with brain swelling on the brain and paralyzed from falling out of a truck instantly healed and wake up out of intensive care and leave in three hours fine three babies in the womb i've seen die in the mother's womb and the doctor said they're dead you have to you have to have them removed and prayed for them and they came back to life okay this is no i i know a little bit about this i prayed i see broken bones healed instantly instantaneously on the spot a guy broke his hand uh prayed for him and just just go so i mean i've seen everything just just just about every every miracle that you can possibly see and i've believed in healing and miracles ever since i came back because i just read the word amen so so god wants us to be people of faith we should always be believing for healing and for miracles and and let me just say this real strongly sickness and disease and demonic attacks it's the enemy okay it's the enemy and should always be resisted in the name of jesus and rebuked and resisted and fought we should never be people who just accept sickness and disease or problems okay now i know sometimes some of us knew know these things and we get lazy all right now let me let me say this i have seen two over the years that if you do you know a sickness comes on you or something that comes on you it manages to get through somehow i have discovered one thing that resisting it and fighting it in the name of jesus and rebuking it can definitely shorten the length of what's going on so what i'm saying is being a warrior being a fighter resisting sickness and disease and not just saying i have to accept this you know there are people out there and this is the problem there are there are christians out there who think that
yeah god still heals but most of the time he doesn't but then there should be the way we should look at it is that god is a healer that god wants to heal that he wants us to believe him and that the exception to the rule is when he doesn't see it's just a different attitude you know the old saying the glass is the glass half empty or is it half full see i just believe that sickness is the enemy and disease is the enemy and that we should fight it and resist it and exercise our faith and if we have to fast and pray if we have to bind if we have to cast out demons whatever we got to do i mean the woman i prayed for that was crippled the reason god healed her cast out a demon i cast out a spirit of infirmity a spirit of arthritis and the moment i cast that demon out of her the lord told me to tell her tell her i said for her to rise up and walk and i said jesus told me to tell you to rise up and walk she hadn't walked in two years she got up out of that wheelchair i still have that testimony on cd about that it was awesome but here's the here's the other extreme that we see in the body of christ okay the word of faith movement came along all right brother hagin kenneth hagin you know oral roberts you know you can go all the way back there were some great healing evangelists that came along and great teachers and great ministries and look at your i love brother hagin okay but here's what happened there became an extreme in the body of christ almost in the charismatic pentecostal world when the word of faith movement came along and there was this extreme that that christians should never ever be sick or should never ever go through an attack or never ever have a problem and if they did something was wrong okay now the problem with that is it's partially true okay partially true sometimes that's the case and sometimes it's not the case did job sin to cause his problem did paul matter of fact i'm going to show you something about epaphroditus as well in the bible what about timothy godly men godly ministers of the gospel suffered through some things but god delivered them i think as one of the greatest healing evangelists of of all time one of my favorites is smith wigglesworth you want to talk about a godly man he didn't even read the newspaper he didn't read the newspaper there wasn't tv i mean the man all he did was pray read his bible witness preach fast obey god i i've probably never read of an old saint except for some in the bible that was his holy and godly as that man and the miracles that he saw confirmed
to i think 22 people he raised from the dead every manner of sickness every type of miracle every type of i mean i'm talking about in front of people he's one of the only people that i've ever heard of since peter that they laid six people in the street in san francisco and his shadow healed the sick okay but do you know that six years during that time he was seeing miracles happen and great healings that he himself was suffering with kidney stones and would pass a kidney stone and nearly nearly bleed out until he passed out he bled so much and then he would i mean during the meeting he said his underwear would be covered with blood and he'd go back six years but you know one thing god told him he said he got he said god personally told him a knife would never touch his body so he he refused to have surgery or do anything about any of it okay but finally he made it through that trial and it's a mystery sometimes you know and that's why i appreciate god giving us the book of job right i mean everybody all everybody ought to know that but we got to be careful see here here's one of the biggest things this is what we have to be careful of whenever we we can take something out of context remember when jesus healed the man in john chapter five he healed a man at the pool of bethesda who had had an infirmity 38 years right basically couldn't get up i mean he was paralyzed something was wrong it was bed fat 38 years and jesus walks up to him and says arise take up your bed and walk heals the man and then leaves the place and it says in that place was a multitude of sick people jesus heals one man i find that interesting okay jesus heals one man and then goes and hides himself you know man didn't even know who he was the man didn't even know who healed it this is how jesus sometimes would just try to keep things quiet but jesus heals the man and later on he sees him right and the man realized that jesus was the man that healed him and that is it was jesus and all of a sudden jesus said to him go and sin no more unless the worst thing come on you all right now that must mean that something had gone on maybe in his life a sin that opened the door but then later in john chapter 9 you see a man that was born blind and the disciple said lord who sinned this man or his parents that he was born blind and jesus said neither but that the glory of god would be manifested in him and yet he was 40 over 40 years old so god let a man be born blind and go through being blind for 40 something years of his life and it was not because he sinned and it was not because his parents said it wasn't generational curse
it was just god allowed it to show his glory at that time you think about the situation with lazarus here lazarus and mary and martha were jesus closest friends they were godly people do you think jesus would have stayed in their house if they weren't now he might have ate with him but i don't know if he just spent the night with him you get what i'm saying but jesus had this godly family it said that he loved they were really his closest friends apart from the apostles and jesus is away and all of a sudden what happened sickness comes into the household of mary martha and lazarus and they said he's sick he's seriously sick what does jesus do does he run over there in healing what'd he do he waited he let it get worse he let it go jesus do you hear what i'm saying jesus let it get worse jesus didn't come when he first prayed oh you mean sometimes things have to get worse before they get better hey how about jesus let him die but what was it for it's for a greater purpose right i think about job you know we forget about job you know the thing we forget about is that you know job it says didn't sin with his mouth didn't charge god foolishly didn't do anything even god what's so beautiful is we have the picture in heaven even god's bragging on him the devil shows up up there and and the lord's like what you've been doing satan walking to and fro through the earth have you seen my servant job think about that have you seen my servant joke he loves me he hates evil a righteous man have you seen him oh yeah but the devil goes but hey you know you've blessed him he's got a hedge about everything his his his business his cattle his children his home every everything's blessed let me take it all away from him and see what happens he'll curse you to your face and the lord goes okay go ahead just don't touch him so then thieves break in and steal everything that he he has fire comes down and destroys some of his servants a wind blows and ten children die ten and you know we forget that most bible scholars and theologians they don't know how long this trial went on
i mean it sounds in the bible like it was quick but there was some delay in there we don't know how long some i've heard say nine months some say a couple of years before god came in and intervened in the situation but here's the thing we know the end of the story that job just just kept just kept standing just kept going you know what whatever his friends though came along well you must have sinned you must have done something you must open the door some way right not always job didn't but god of course comes in and heals job but i always remember this he can get those 10 children back did he he got more children but you know what more children don't ever take away the pain and i think huh you know i know i'm sure he got over it he got better over time but still i can't imagine losing 10 children i know you went through losing one i know that's tough i know it's still tough on you one think of 10. that's why i preached that message a few weeks ago about called teeth marks back there and sometimes you get in the mouth of the lion and you might have some teeth marks on you but it's all right because god can deliver you out i love what the hebrew children said when they were before they were cast in the fire what'd they say our lord can deliver us but if not be it known to you king that we will not bow to your statue see god is a healer and this is my point this one god is a healer but you know what he's looking for more than anything else he's looking for what if what if i don't heal what if i don't do the miracle what if i don't are you going to get angry are you going to get bitter are you going to are you going to bow to what the devil wants you to bow to you're going to bow to offense unbelief there's some people that prayed for healing and didn't get it that because god actually because god wanted to do it later but they got angry at god and they'll never get it there are people who prayed for healing and somebody didn't get healed or or they didn't or somebody a family member didn't get healed and so they gave up completely on believing god for healing and believing for miracles anybody know any people like this i do but listen to me and listen closely no matter what god has done or has not done or no matter what he's let come into your life for whatever reason has come into your life you should believe that
it is his will to heal and to deliver and to save and i mean to work miracles god wants us believing for great things to happen amen are y'all with me see we're all supposed to believe in healing you know what i don't care if i got a physical problem i'll still pray for you to be healed and believe it's gonna be it's gonna happen you say well how can you do that when you have a problem that's not healed guess what it's not about me it's not about whether i'm healed or not healed you don't know what god's doing with me half the time i don't know what god's doing with me anything about that amen it's about if you believe and i believe then it can be done and if it's not done today then it'll be done tomorrow or tonight or the next day we got to believe god god's looking for faith in the in the midst of suffering and trial and what are we going to do in the days ahead when we can't go to the hospital when we can't go to the doctor when we can't get some medicine when we can't we we won't be able to we're going to have to stand in faith even if we're looking at a a wound that's infected and stand in faith god in jesus name i believe your healing power and if i'm not supposed to go then i'm not going anywhere amen i'm not moved by it you know sickness is swept through our house but you know what it could have been a lot worse i mean george washington y'all know how george anybody know in here know how george washington died he was a christian i believe he was a christian do you know what he did he felt himself he i think he went out to the barn and this is a lesson here for you he went out to the barn he went outside to do something and it was cold it was coming in and he felt sort of basically strep throat coming in and he said out of his mouth this is where we get ourselves in trouble he said this sickness will kill me and it did he got strep throat and then he got worse and worse and worse and of course they didn't have the antibiotics and they didn't have the stuff and but i believe if he had believed god he might have gotten through that if he resisted maybe if he'd fall maybe not again i'm not the i'm not the lord i'm just saying we should look at sickness as the enemy amen we should look at diseases as is bad and i know you do but i think sometimes we get lazy and we're just thinking you know you guys are working work in the health field or around the health field you see it all the time it's like well this is normal no it's not supposed to be normal i mean i know this world is cursed and
this world is is in trouble and even saints are in trouble but the bottom line is god wants us to believe beyond all that doesn't matter what we see right a thousand followed your side 10 000 at your right hand but let's take it a step deeper all right let's take it a step deeper go with me to again why are some people sick again i've admitted sin can open the door for sickness and disease right playing with demonic stuff can open the door to sickness and disease your mouth can open the door to sickness and disease okay but sickness and disease also is just part of the curse that we still wrestle with okay part of the what we inherited because i don't know anybody in here don't still wrestle with some sin issues okay everybody does so that means hey we're overcoming one day we're going to overcome we're going to finish right all right what'd i tell you to turn to i didn't go to philippians chapter 2. philippians 2. see i you i used to read all i've read all of hagen's books back in the day i think you know he had hundreds of them i may have missed a few but i read most of them okay rw schambach you know some of these guys rw schambach had been the the music leader for a.a allen who had a powerful healing ministry there's so much that can be said about this issue but i want to show you something here maybe you hadn't thought of especially when it comes to godly men and women who aren't healed we need to understand some things because the faith movement tried to explain these verses away because it was their contention everybody was supposed to be healed all the time in every situation and never suffer anything and i just don't believe that and i don't believe that because i don't believe that's what the bible shows us okay you with me philippians chapter 2 this matter of fact is the same chapter where he says work out your own salvation with fear and trembling let's go down to verse 25 and he said yet i supposed it necessary to send to you epaphroditus my brother and companion and labor and fellow soldier i love those words my brother companion and labor fellow soldier but your messenger and that and he that ministered to my wants for he longed after you all and was full of heaviness because that you had heard that he had been sick for indeed he was sick not unto death
but god had mercy on him and not on him only but also on me lest i should have sorrow upon sorrow and he said and i sent him therefore the more carefully that i might see that you might see him again that you may rejoice that i may be less sorrowful and then he says look at verse 30 he says because for the work of christ he was nigh unto death did he say because he sinned sounds like to me this is a good brother paul trusts him calls him his brother his companion his fellow soldier a man who was after god and he said he was sick nigh unto death and why he was nine to death for the work of christ now look at this this is this ought to get you here he was nigh unto death not regarding his life supply your lack of service toward me [Music] what was paul telling them this man was sick and nearly died trying to take up the slack that y'all were supposed to do you know what sometimes some brothers and sisters are sick and suffering because we're supposed to be praying for them and we don't we're supposed to be fasting for them we're supposed to be ministering to them and we don't do it and so somebody else when we don't do our job somebody else has to take up the slack so that means he's doing epaphroditus was doing his work in somebody else's right pretty serious stuff isn't it but this is interesting because you know what some people would try to say here they try to say well epaphra sinned or epaphras was opened the door to the devil or he something he did something wrong says for the work of christ he was nine to death so that gives us a reason right there go with me to second corinthians now we're going gonna go a little deeper everybody all know we're going chapter 12. hope i've made myself painfully cl clear that we uh we should believe for healing no matter what amen let's look at paul said let's read this verse one and it is expedient well he said it is not expedient for me doubtless to glory and i will come to visions and revelations of the lord i knew a man in christ above 14 years ago whether in the body i cannot tell or whether out of the
body i cannot tell god noah such in one caught up to the third heaven and i knew such a man whether in the body or out of the body i cannot tell god knoweth how that he was called up into paradise and heard unspeakable words which are not lawful for a man to utter of such and one will i glory yet of myself i will not glory but in my infirmities for though i would desire to glory i shall not be a fool for i will say the truth but now i forbear lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be or that which he heareth me and lest i should be exalted above measure through the abundance of revelations there was given unto me a thorn in the flesh and i mean i've heard people try to explain this away it's a thorn in the flesh in the flesh it wasn't a spiritual aggravation in his mind okay matter of fact i think galatians tells us what it is i'll show you that second he says a thorn in the flesh a messenger of satan the word messenger is angel so a demonic angel of satan to buffet me afflict me lest i should be exalted above measure now this thing came against paul and look at paul's reaction which should always be our reaction okay he says for this thing i besought the lord thrice three times that it might depart from me and he said unto me my grace is sufficient for thee for my strength is made perfect in weakness most gladly therefore will i read i will rather glory in my infirmities that the power of christ may rest upon me he says therefore i take pleasure in infirmities in reproaches and necessities and persecution and distresses for christ's sake for when i am weak then i am strong he says i am become a fool and glory but you have compelled me for i ought to have been commended of you for nothing i am behind the very chiefest apostles though i be nothing he said truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience and signs and wonders and mighty deeds so what is paul paul's having his to deal with him is look paul had an infirmity in the flesh he had something wrong that god wouldn't heal him of what is it go with me to galatians chapter four the book of galatians tells us anybody know what it was huh some folks might want to you know that hear this message out there might want to argue this but i'm just going to give you what the word says you can make up your own mind so in galatians chapter four paul's talking to them and see the remember the corinthians had a little problem with paul they were kind of turning against him and the galatians loved him right let's look at this of course he he says uh let's go to verse 12.
he says brethren i beseech you be as i am for i am as you are you have not injured me at all you know how through infirmity of the flesh all right does that say infirmity of the flesh infirmity is the greek word for sickness okay or feebleness or frailty or something wrong so something wrong in his flesh he said he said you know that through infirmity of the flesh i preached the gospel unto you at first and my temptation which is just you know king james is probably a bad translation here that really should say my trial or god testing me or or this thing testing me putting me to the proof this trial i'm going through which is in my flesh you despise not nor rejected but received me as an angel of god even as christ jesus where is then this blessedness you spake up for i bear you record that if it had been possible you would have plucked out your own eyes and given them to me why did he say that i believe paul had a problem with his eyesight think about a man in that time with a serious problem with his eyesight a man called to preach the gospel over the world and write half the new testament and can you imagine him crying out to god three times now you want me to blow your mind even further again it was the messenger of satan that would not leave and god wouldn't take it why paul told you he had had so many encounters and so many revelations from god that it would have been very easy for one of two things to happen or both for other people to exalt him above measure right or for paul himself to become puffed up and prideful like he's some super being right so because of this that's what he said lest i be exalted what above measure god would not remove this thing and see you think it's any different in this day and age no boy i'm going to tell you what there's some big name preachers that need a thorn in the flesh maybe they wouldn't act like they act maybe they wouldn't demand manicurists and stakes to be flown overseas and
yeah jay lee grady just just put out an article called don't let your pulpit be defiled and this is a man that's been in the charismatic pentecostal world for 30 40 years worked for charisma for years travels all over the world he runs it he knows these big name preachers he runs into him he wrote he goes into the churches behind them and preaches and hears the horror stories of these puffed up prideful arrogant celebrity drunken of the gospel that demand limousines and a green room to be rushed in after the service so they don't have to mingle with the people the little people i'm not kidding you [Music] they have an entourage of bodyguards like god can't protect them they need a big fat thorn in the flesh they don't need a messenger of satan they need several let me tell you the greatest judgment is that god let you go on in your pride that's a terrible judgment i'd rather him do what's necessary in me or allow what's this and you know what it was beautiful if you go back i was rereading and we can't do it in church it just takes too long but reading re-reading the story of job last night and i see why god picked him that's something picked him for all that battery of satan because really i don't give a flip a man or a woman ain't been through anything and got anything to say and god knew he was the wisest one and god knew he was the most humble one and god knew he was already the leader so he's going to take the leader and let him go through hell so the other ones would listen when they found out they were wrong amen it was so amazing they all thought they were right you ever read all their they all thought they were right boy they had all this wise things to give job just told them one time if it would have been an art and he said why don't y'all just shut up that would be better if y'all would just sit here and not speak what do you think about that though sometimes i've been with people that's suffering you know preachers supposed to know what to say i don't know what to say sometimes i'm honest i don't know what to say except hug them maybe about all sometimes all you can do
let me tell you another little thing about about healing that's that's interesting you got to hear from god jesus only did what he heard and saw the father do i've had god tell me at times to go pray for somebody i've had god tell me at times to not go pray for somebody i've had god tell me it's not time for them to die and to believe for their healing and i've had god tell me it's time for them to die you have to know i remember and i hope you don't mind me sharing this but when shari's dad was in the hospital and he was having a bad episode and it didn't look good at all in icu and she called me and and let me know and i was on my way to the hospital and i'm praying because how's your dad now 61 or 2. i knew he was you know he you get up in your 60s and 70s it's like well lord what is this 70. i thought he was but i'm just sitting here going i don't always assume especially you know especially with older people because you know they've lived their life 70 years god promised 70 years 80 if you're strong i mean you've you made it that far you've done something in this world right and i just said lord what is this is this is this his time is this should we wha what should he and the lord just said this is an attack of the devil and so i went in there and prayed with her and i mean he wasn't even coherent i mean i'd never seen him like that i mean it was it was it was a demonic attack the devil was trying to take him out before his time and i knew that and i went in there and prayed with her and i remember praying and rebuking that enemy he was fighting the nurses he was fighting everybody it was hard to even pray for it okay and i remember praying for him but i felt the anointing and power of god come into that intensive care room but he didn't change he kept on and i'm just like i know it's done i know god's touched him and we walked we had to walk out and we went back down to the waiting room and i told her i said he's not gonna die he's gonna be okay we rebuked the devil and i felt the power of god come in that room and we're standing he's gonna be all right and he was amen but that thing could have killed him yeah when he said that when he when he started praying in the icu room i felt the presence of god also i started shaking i couldn't stop you know i just knew that the presence of god was there and when he told me that when he said he is not going to die god you know god is in control and this is an attack that's when i said okay and it just the light just went off in me and i said i stood i stood and i fought the the rest of the time and you know by myself you know i mean i stood and i
just prayed and i continued rebuking satan and i continued i went home and i just completely just gave it all up to god and continued to do it and continued standing my brothers were there and one of my brother was about to fall apart because we're all close to my dad and dean even spoke to him and that gave him peace too but but the key to that and that's what i want to say is i didn't just i didn't just assume what to say i prayed about it and i because i don't believe in just assuming or making up stuff or saying what i want to happen you know what i'm saying but lord i know lord's a healer and he's a deliverer and god is that what you want to do in this situation now if it's a younger person ain't no doubt we're gonna fight that thing amen and again there's a difference between things that are life-threatening right and that are not and i do believe once if it becomes if it's a life-threatening issue we got to deal with that thing right death is the enemy death is to be resisted sickness is to be resisted disease is to be resisted again i need to quit because this i mean this is a subject that you can go for a long time but i wanted to present this one just talk about just give a very balanced look and was it balanced look at healing and and it's a mystery sometimes job here's the job didn't know what had gone on in heaven job was a little confused and he even said in one chapter i think it's chapter eight or nine earlier he said i'm confused i know i've lived for him i know i'm i'm righteous i know i've walked with him i you know he was like i know i'm i'm i haven't done anything to break this hedge and i'm confused it seems like he's against me now anybody ever felt that way lord where are you he's with you and listen if it's a sin this causing the sickness or the problem he'll show you if you get honest say lord what is it he'll show you if it's an open door from the past he'll show you if it's just an attack and god's allowing the attack he'll show you that too see i knew i knew in 2001 my attack was coming i mean 2001 i knew it was coming a dream a word i knew it was coming i didn't know how bad it was going to be i didn't know how it was going to affect me but it was bad but i knew it was coming but god will show you things now job i don't know if he saw it coming
maybe he did maybe he didn't he did say the thing i feared it's come upon me but how many of you know we all we don't want bad things to happen to our families or us right we live in a dangerous world we got the devil against us we got the nature of adam and eve against us we got demons against us we got people speaking against us we got all we have witches against it we got all kind of stuff and and at times we're our own worst enemy but sometimes god steps back you didn't do anything god just steps back and goes i'll let this happen we'll let the devil do this thing and that thing will either make you a stronger man or woman of god or you'll fall one or two job stood amen here's the good thing about god if you fall down in the midst of it you can get back up amen god forgives that's right righteous man what falls seven times but gets up again wicked falls and what once they fall not getting back up all right maybe we'll delve more into this next week i never know it's been on my heart god heals amen hebrews 13 8 jesus christ the same yesterday today and forever he hasn't changed john 14 12 jesus that he that believeth on me the works i do he shall do also guess what i believe i can heal the sick raise the dead open blind eyes open deaf ears cast out demons i believe i can do all those things because the bible says i can do them amen i'm going to step out and try to do more and more so should you but you know what i think of david hogan down there in mexico you know they've had several hundred people raised from the dead and every kind of miracle that that you can imagine but they've also had i don't know how many now probably dozens of their pastors martyred as well he said you know what we've had three or four thousand dead people that we've laid hands on and only three or four hundred have gotten up guess what i'd take the three or four hundred that got up leaving in the hands of god the the three or four thousand that didn't who cares life and death's not in our hands anyway sometimes i think we forget god just wants us doing the stuff he just wants us you know what sometimes i think people won't lay hands on somebody and pray for somebody god's leading you to
lay hands on somebody at work or or go pray for a family member and and get vicious with the thing and the thing that comes in and stops us is fear well what if they don't get healed well what if they do that's up that's between the lord the lord wants you operating in faith the lord wants you being bold the lord wants you going and laying hands on them and rebuking that thing and believing god the results are in his hands amen and if you think well maybe i didn't fast enough or maybe i didn't pray well maybe you didn't it's okay fast and pray more next time right if they're still living you can fast and pray and go back again right warriors soldiers don't let fear though keep you don't let fear keep you from praying for somebody going to lay hands and and one more thing i have found with sickness and disease and with devils okay the more bold you get the more effective you are i don't know why that is but it's like the more loud the more bold the more confident the more you get the more forceful you get against that thing is the more success that you have and i'm talking about dealing with the devil dealing with sickness i mean i'll tell you i'll tell you this story i got to tell you this story just to give you an example this is this boldness this was this was boldness that that god gave me in the face of feeling terror at the same time okay i shared this a minute ago but this happened in 1989 in valley i was going to evangel temple in valley david copeland was a youth pastor i was there involved in helping him in the youth we had known each other since 87 at that point and we were we were just radical i mean we're going out on the streets all the time uh we were having prayer meetings all the time you know we were just uh a bunch of single youth you know college age high school age there's just a bunch of us you know just on fire for god and and and so we would meet in the mornings for prayer we'd meet at night for prayer i mean we just we're going after god and i remember that um there were there were four of us and this is funny it was me my brother alan and a girl named julie can't remember her last name and a satanist trying to fake us off that he wasn't a satanist but we knew he was all right but he always tried to hang out with us so we'd love it just come on come on the prayer meeting i mean he'd go out and throw up blood and we'd be rebuking the devil and and come back and get him he's just poor guy you know he had a hard time but he wanted to be around so we let him i mean he came in my house one time he i remember i was in the back room praying and he came in my house when i lived in
valley and and an angel clotheslined him knocked him on the ground because he's going to interfere with my prayer time i mean just he was i heard that kaboom i came out of the he's like he's like what are you doing in there i'm like i'm praying i said what are you doing out here he goes i don't know but i think an angel just knocked me to the ground i was like
