handy dandy actually my husband's huge print bible so i can see and not have to wear glasses because i just found out that my bible is missing about what 10 000 words and yes so i don't take that very lightly how many know that this is god's word and what's in it is important amen and what he put in here he means he means for us to know as his children he he means for us to obey um anyway so we're we're going to get into something that god said for us as his children to do and it's a subject that that most people don't even like to hear about especially women you know i have a grin on the front she knows exactly where we're going with this but i don't want you to tune me out just yet because it boils down to it's in god's word it's in god's word so we're supposed to know it learn it and do it that's what it boils down to um some of you may have seen my facebook post a few weeks ago about potty training because we have a two and a half year old and we're potty training or at least trying to and god just spoke something to me while i was while i was dealing with her because i say when she does you know that yuck in her diaper as i'm changing it i say i said faith this should have gone to into the potty but it should have gone into the potty you should have told told mommy and she says i know i know and god just god just kind of brought it to me we we know a lot of what his word says but if we don't do it we're sitting around in the same poop you know we don't get free from it we don't move on we don't go on to the next thing um so that's what i want us to god god said that we were supposed to be doers not just hearers so i want us to keep that in mind today that we take what his word says and what he's been showing me and i promise you as i always say when i get up here i don't have it this is a lesson that i'm dealing with daily if not hourly even you know i i'm not there so i'm not pointing the finger at anybody and i'm not saying and and the thing about it is this is this this sermon is about god's christian order okay what he set forth in his word for us to do and it goes both ways it goes for the man it goes for the woman and it goes for you children that are in here so i want y'all to listen to this pay attention and i want you to make an effort this week to go go back into god's word everything that i'm saying everything that i'm reading i want you to study it out and put it to practice in your life and i mean this for the kids too okay kids are looking at me this goes
for you too all right we're to obey god all right well i want to start off by reading a quote i've been reading this this book by john bevere called undercover it's a real good book talking about spiritual authority and and things like that and i really liked this this quote so i'm going to just go ahead and start us off with this because what we're going to hear today is a truth and we have an option about how to handle it he said confronted with the truth we can respond two ways we can become angry and defensive like cain adam's son and forsake the very revelation we need as he did in genesis 4 or we can hum be humble and broken like david when challenged by nathan and let the pain and repentance raise us to another level of godly character let's have the heart of david in this matter and reject the pride endeavoring to keep us from god's plan of provision and protection and i just thought that's real that that goes for any any truth that we receive it's really really easy to say we love god we love the truth we love god's word we we love god but god said if you love me obey me it's just that simple if you love me obey me so if you're not obeying then you've got work to do and like i said this goes for me um i want to also start off with y'all can turn to and my because our printer's off i'm having to look because i've got these weird squiggly lines all through my my print but psalm 133 1-3 that's the whole chapter it's on 133 okay psalm 133 it says behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity it is like the precious ointment upon the head that ran down upon the beard even aaron's beard that went down to the skirts of his garment as the dew of hermann and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of zion for their for there the lord commanded the blessing even life forevermore so unity that's what god says about unity it's like the precious ointment it's an anointing it's a blessing if you can walk in unity with people if you can walk in and i'm talking about as in your wife your husband you know children obeying your parents and walking in unity and being obedient not fussing and complaining and all that god has a promise here
in his word he says that it's going to be an anointing it's going to cover you all right unity being obedient being unified with your spouse will cover your family all right with his anointing with his blessing you know we have a lot of people who say you know the blessings are this listen to that oh preach preach preach prosperity this and that but there are things you have to do to get god's promises sometimes and this is one of them walk in unity he commands a blessing that's pretty strong when god commands something anybody know what happens it happens it happens that's right so that's how important unity is so it's a subject that we really need to focus on now i'm not talking about there's a some people out there that say you know to walk in unity you have to ignore sin and tolerate things and not speak up about you know issues and you know let people run all over that's not what i'm talking about that's not the unity that god is talking about so let's let's move on and and as i said before if you love me keep my commandments that's what that's what god jesus said in john 14 15. you can jot that down uh let's turn to ephesians five ephesians five and we're just going to jump right on into talking about family order because the thing is if you can get it right in your family the people that you deal with every day then the other areas of submission like your boss and your pastor and all of these other things they won't be as big of an issue you have to get it right in your family and and god makes that very clear you know if i'll i'll tell you what it says let's see how important is it i'll just read this real quick it's so important that god said in first timothy 3 4 5 and you don't have to turn there i'm just going to read this he says to be a bishop leader in the church says that one has to be one that ruleth well his own house having his children in subjection with all gravity for if a man know not how to rule his own house how shall he take care of the church of god all right that's how that's how important this is and he says as to be a deacon in the church let the deacons be the husbands of one wife ruling their children and their own houses well so this is a priority for god and his people he makes it clear all right so ephesians 5 and let's go to 23.
we're going to read 23 and 24. let's see well no we need to go back up i wrote down the wrong we'll go back up to um 21. it says submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of god now make a mental note of that in the fear of god wives submit yourselves unto your own husbands as unto the lord for the husband is the head of the wife even as christ is the head of the church and he is the savior of the body therefore as the church is subject unto christ so let the wise be to their own husbands in everything everything even the silly things you know even even things and that's usually where i blow it with my husband is the things that i'm like but but what does it matter you know just i told i told a story to someone here the other day it just it just happened you know we were talking about it the night before and then it came trash night right and i wanted the the recyclable plastics to go down to the street and he was like they haven't been picking them up but you know well i'm not doing it and i said well i'll do it then i'll do it i'll do it then he said no don't but babe and i start arguing all of a sudden it goes this is a little thing and i'm not obeying god and i had to admit and he said something a story that we've been talking about he said one word from the the story we've been talking about before and it was like oh i'm doing it look at this look how quickly we were talking about it and i flipped over and started doing it immediately but i recognized it and repented okay so it says so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything husbands love your wives even as christ also loved the church and gave himself for it that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of the water by the word all right let's go on over to um let's go to first corinthians and this is where it really all started for me i was reading this and god just started kind of giving me a visual because i i had nev i've never really read it like this but first corinthians if you go to first corinthians 11 okay 11. and then three all right and we're all familiar with these i mean if we've been in church at any point in
time in our life we've probably heard portions of this or or heard men say it to women or heard women say the other part to men as like a weapon and you know we've we've heard all this but i want us to really get a hold of how important this is because it's in god's word um chapter 11 first corinthians 11 3 but i would have you know that the head of every man is christ and the head of the woman is the man and that that word there is for the woman is wife and the word for man is the husband okay that because that doesn't mean a lot of i've heard of i wouldn't say a lot of but i've heard of people who get this totally out of whack and they say i'm a man so i rule over every woman in this church you know or i will rule over every woman in the world you know and get this real weird take on this it's not it's husbands and wives here okay there are other men who rule over you know women as in spiritual authority as in pastors or you know political figures or things like that but it says i would have you know that the head of every man is christ and the head of the woman is the man and the head of christ is god every man praying or prophesying having his head covered this honoreth his head but every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoreth her head for that is even all for that is even all one as if she were shaven which was totally you know you don't do that you don't shave your head unless you're my husband a man for if the woman be not covered let her also be shorn but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven let her be covered for a man indeed ought not to cover his head for as much as he is the is the image and glory of god but the woman is the glory of the man for the man is not of the woman but the ma the woman of the man neither was the man created for the woman but the woman for the man referring back you know adam and eve that's how it all went down for this cause ought the woman to have power on her head or an authority over her head because of the angels and right here it's talking about back you know before the flood what was happening was the the the bad angels the bad angels were coming down seeing that the women were pretty and they were taking them and having children with them okay so what he's saying is there needs to be a protection of covering because look you know he's referring to that and saying look what happened all right without the covering nevertheless neither is the man without the woman neither the woman without the man in the lord
um for as as the woman is of the man even so is the man also by the woman but all things of god all right now it's a lot of woman man one man had this that this so i was reading it and god just gave me it's not working okay well kevin's gonna have to do my slide for me god just gave me a visual because i work well with visuals and i you know hopefully you will too but this is the visual that god gave me and i tried to put it you know as best i could on the computer so um you have the man and the covering over his head is christ right the husband all right you have the woman her covering is the man right then you have christ and it says his covering is god isn't that interesting though since he is god okay go on um so you have man with christ is his covering what happens if it's covered with something else say right you got it before it popped up sin all right the the word here hang on just a second um when it says dishonored it means to shame or disgrace okay so if if you're if you're the husband and you have sin in your life and you're not letting christ be your head then you are you see how it's it's just distorted as wiping christ out basically it's dishonoring him in his name okay same thing can happen go ahead if he lets the woman be the cover it's still it's dishonoring it's i know the women are going you know it's dishonoring christ christ is supposed to be the head when we move ourselves in as women as wives to take that place we are shaming jesus christ who's supposed to be them and in the same way the man is supposed to make sure this doesn't happen you know it goes both ways the woman can try to make it happen but the man can stand up and put christ first and say this is what the bible says and this is what we're going to do okay so we'll go on to go ahead we have the woman so man oh no something happened here this is my coolest lineup i'm sure it'll yep it's malfunctioning anyway
it's got christ man oh there we go you see this what happens to her whenever she doesn't have christ or her husband as the head she opens herself up to attack she's uncovered and that's what this verse is saying you're uncovered if you don't have your husband as your head you are uncovered and the fiery darts of the enemy guess what they're on you and i i made this because you know what this is what happens to women all right this dark cloud that gets over them and and i say women most women all right if they step out of that covering and they start just undergoing the enemy's attacks you know notice where i put the arrows going on her head that's where we lose it here we lose the battle in our head and we get this dark cloud women fall into depression women fall into you know all of this imagining oh the speculation and the things that that we tend to do when we're not in the right order you know god did this as you could see for protection yeah a lot of women the women's lib movement was just purely satanic i mean it was just satanic and this was the purpose to get the families out of godly order all right because their whole purpose was women you have rights you should be you're equal you're this you're that and it all focused on women that's not supposed to be the relationship all right and we'll we'll move on to see that but we need to get rid of this it's my right and it's you know women this women that mindset that our society is just just pouring into us on tv on movies on you know everything the news it's just constant we need to refocus and get back into what does god's word say did a mean um control freak write the bible no and that's what a lot of women how they act it's like they just want to you know they just want to rule over me and blah blah blah blah but really what it is is god said to do it he's not a mean control freak he loves us he loves us and he wants us to prosper he wants us to be blessed he wants the he does want us to have a good life but it doesn't look the way we think it should it's not all about us for us to have a good life we have to lower ourselves and that's not an american way you know i i was asking him last night i couldn't remember who i heard that you know you hear facebook post you hear preaching you hear this and that but somebody said in the united states it's hard in a democratic society to really grasp a hold of kingdom
principles because they don't go together a kingdom is ruled by a king that's right kingdom is ruled by a king and under that king he has authority set down you know we don't go for that you know we vote no that's not god's way god's not a voting god come vote and tell me if you like what's in here and maybe i'll adjust it for you that's not the way it goes all right so we need to we really need to just trash that that mindset of you know equal rights and all of these things that have been implanted in us from women's lib and and and the men have been poisoned they have been poisoned to say you can't be this way you can't be this way you can't be that way you can't you can't get okay the big thing is angry because it's you know hateful in this or that well there are times when a man is supposed to react like a man i love my man i love the fact that he's bold i love the fact that he stands up and he's not super sensitive okay you know that doesn't bother me i want a manly man and i got him you know praise god it doesn't intimidate me you know why because he's my manly man and he's my cover and i should feel very you know safe and secure with that and not threatened he doesn't threaten me he's my cover and i want him to be a man so that's it that whole mindset is it's really been a satanic flaw on both the man and the women man be men women be women you know how god created women we are more emotional okay i don't want my man to be like that i really don't because one of me is enough to deal with in this house i don't need more emotions in this house right especially once a month it's like oh thank god only one of us is like this right so that's that's what happens when we when we trash godly order we get attacked by satan go ahead i'm trying to remember what my next slide is okay this is what will change this is what changed my view of submission because to many women submission is an ugly word okay this is jesus christ and it said go ahead it said that god is the head of christ but this is how it happened he lowered himself he came to earth he lowered himself he made himself a man he took on flesh right and he submitted that's my god is the because we have the trinity god jesus the holy spirit they are all god but it clearly says he's the head and that's why and this is what women need to understand
go ahead it's not that we aren't equal in god's eyes it's that he expects us as the wife to humble ourselves that's a tough job it really is i'm a very headstrong woman i am very hesitant my head's very headstrong you know bless fate's heart she got two headstrong parents you know so we're really having to having to take care of some two-year-old issues but this is what we have to do we have to choose it's our choosing we can choose not to you're you know we can but that's not godly order and i'll tell you i'm going to read something from this book that just really illustrates the point of what happens when we don't choose to do it god's way and like i said it is our choosing we can we can choose either way um and this is a story about john bevere and his wife he says and i know that that pastor dean read this at one point time but i think most of our congregation was out that day so it'll probably be new to most people he says in the mid 1980s my wife and i fell into an erroneous teaching we were told the new testament was written by some chauvinistic men and we should not adhere to their words when it came to authority between a husband and a wife we were told jesus provided equal redemption for all this is most definitely true but redemption does not negate authority for years we had no peace in our home we were in a constant struggle for leadership after years of turmoil one day i told my wife god has made me the head of this home and i'm going to lead whether you follow me or not things started turning around for me but not for my wife the lord had shown me that as a leader i was never to force those under me to follow jesus does not do this with us if those under our authority don't follow they suffer i entered into a divine rest in peace however lisa continued to carry all the pressures of the home she was convinced i was an irresponsible leader i was young and had many flaws so many of her concerns appeared justifiable but by reason of my past mistakes sometimes her fears became so extreme she'd wake up in the middle of the night to remind me i was not carrying my load and she was doing much more than her share i simply suggested giving all the care to god and i went back to sleep while she lay wide awake beside me dreading the worst the burden increased for lisa worry constantly plagued her her mind was never at rest but always scrambling as she mentally ran the spectrum of every imaginable crisis our family could face
right here can i get any women amen have any of us done this i know i have before before i learned to rest a short while later the tension she carried became almost unbearable she had to take long showers or baths to try to alleviate the pressure one night in one of those showers while she was complaining about me god spoke to her lisa do you think john is a good leader she quickly responded no i don't i don't trust him at least she's honest lisa you don't have to trust john he replied you have to trust only me you don't think john is doing a very good job as the head of this home you feel that you can do better the tension and unrest you're experiencing are the weight and pressure of being the head of a household it is a yoke to you but a mantle to your husband lay it down lisa immediately saw it god not not a power hungry man was the one who said she was to submit to her husband the leadership of our home was oppressive to her because it was not her position to feel god had allowed her to experience the load of responsibility without the anointing or grace to carry it which he gives the husband she came out of that shower weeping and asking forgiveness she entered the peace and rest i had entered a few months earlier and our home for the first time in years experienced true harmony the holy spirit's dealing with her that night helped her realize that god didn't say submit only if you agree or like what your husband chooses or decides she realized if she submitted to god's command then his protection would be hers have i made mistakes since then absolutely plenty of them however god has protected lisa through my mistakes and given her peace when she is submitted his protection is her hers no matter what unwise decisions her husband makes and that's i think a lot of us you know as women i think a lot of reactions come from past experience or hurts or you know even maybe even not with the husband we're with or whatever we're doing but we have we see everything and filter it through you know our perspective is through what has happened to us and that's natural but what we're supposed to be doing is focusing on god and going through his perspective not ours we're supposed to be focusing on god and obeying his his word not what we feel all right so we're gonna real quick let's see i don't remember if i got a oh yeah one more slide i think yeah you don't have to touch it
so when woman has man who has christ as the head then guess what she's got the best of both worlds and she has protection against satan starts i know it's just a it's just a visual but i was like that's it that's it we have an umbrella when we do it god's way and it doesn't matter if it's a single mom it doesn't matter if it's a married couple when we do it god's way we're under his umbrella of protection and his peace and his blessing does it mean that we don't get frazzled and and go through stuff no no we will always have things that we go through but it means that he's there with his protection and we can trust and rely on it okay let's go to a couple of examples about about doing this all right how about adam and eve that's the perfect examples of all of this isn't it if we go to uh uh-huh if we go to genesis all right genesis 2 verse 16. and i'll just i'll read this real quick while y'all are turning there first timothy 2 says in in like manner also that women adorn themselves in modest apparel it goes through and it talks about how women are supposed to behave christian women god's children god's daughters are supposed to behave and it says it ends up saying because i suffer are not a woman to teach nor to usurp authority over the man all right and what that means and and wives us wives are often do that is to dominate we're not to dominate the man all right and and that word usurp authentio in the greek to act of oneself that's where we get off when we're focused on ourselves we really get off if you if you find yourself as a man or woman saying i want this i want that i i i or you don't do this for me you really got your focus off because it's about you and it's never supposed to be about you if you're living for god all right all right in genesis 2 216 it says god commanded adam notice he commanded adam and the lord god commanded the man saying of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it for in the day that thou eat us thereof thou shalt surely die and
the lord said it was not good for the man that man should be alone and i will make it help me so god gives him this very important command life and death command and he hadn't even made woman yet right so he entrust this command to the man now that doesn't mean he never said it to the woman when she came along but just notice what the chain of authority was here he first spoke to the man about it and then later on in genesis 2 20 22-24 is when god creates the woman all right and therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh here's another area where marriages have problems when you don't do this command when you get married you leave your parents and you cleave to your wife right you join with your wife doesn't mean you don't love and honor and respect your parents but your wife is now your priority all right well god and your wife and your family um so he creates woman here well then what happens you go on down it says now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the lord god had made and he said unto the woman yea hath god said which is is the lie he always really is that true did god really say that you shall not eat of every tree of the garden and the woman said unto the serpent we may we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden god hath said ye shall not eat of it neither shall you touch it lest she die so she knew all right kind of like my daughter knows where her stuff is supposed to go in the potty she knew right she knew the command she knew what she was supposed to do and then the serpent said unto the woman you shall not surely die for god doth know that in the day you eat thereof then your eyes shall be opened and you shall be as gods so so basically she's she's sitting here reasoning with satan letting him put seeds into her thoughts into her well did god really say that well did he mean that well did god say i have to submit but he doesn't understand my husband just reasoning it out in our minds that's where we go wrong like i said before get control of this mind and submit it to the authority of god and the authorities he's placed in your life we're ruled by she saw the fruit she was moved by the fruit she was moved oh but the serpent is so sweet and kind and look he's just wanting me to be a better person and so she was moved by her emotions and her feelings and her you know her senses all right that's why god made a man the way he is you know i i've often said and this gets
me in trouble with some women but i've often said i will not vote for a woman president because i'm sorry but they they every woman that i've ever met does get moved by their emotions and feelings they do i want a person who's not going to have a monthly issue and push a button and blow up a country you know not that it would go that far but you see what i'm saying men are made a certain way women are made a certain way women are nurturing i do things with faith that my husband doesn't he throws her up in the air and does some things that i wouldn't do right because we're made differently and it's it's a godly order and it's god ordained okay so she she listens to satan and what happens she eats it and then what does she do gabe also unto her husband with her and he did eat okay so he he did it he knew what god said god said it to him first and he knew he was the one that was told not to do this so we move on to genesis 3 16 16 and it says it gives the punishment god of course he's our father he had to punish their disobedience it says unto the woman he said i will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception in thy conception in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children and thy desire and that word there means stretching out after and longing shall be to thy husband and he shall rule over thee and unto adam he said because thou hast hearken unto the voice of thy wife all right and has eaten of the tree of which i commanded these saying and so he goes on with the punishment for the man but why did he get punished because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife all right doesn't mean a man should never listen to his wife my husband listens to me all the time probably more than he pretends that he you know wants to but it doesn't mean they don't listen but this word hearken it means to hear intelligently off with implication of attention or obedience you see that was backwards he wasn't supposed to obey his wife he was supposed to obey god no matter what she said um john bevere said it this way adam disobeyed because his wife had already eaten and she wanted him to do the same he chose her over submitting to the authority of god the sin as the as a result of adam's disobedience many were made sinners or we can say it like this many were made lawless or disobedient to the authority of god because adam
was lawless and and that's something that really hit me when i was reading this is disobedience not obeying god's law what he says in here no matter what it is it's lawlessness it's not submitting to his authority it's not keeping his law it's lawlessness and that's a serious thing all right that's a serious thing when you know what you're supposed to do and you don't do it ignorance is one thing you still answer for it but violating god's laws knowingly which i just tell you now you all know because i'm preaching on it this morning it's a serious thing that we'll get into in just a little bit we're going to take another example let me if i can find it in here let's go to genesis 12. while you're doing that i'm just going to read real quick in first peter 3 it talks about it says like likewise you wise be in subjection to your own husbands that if any obey not the word they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives so this is even talking about unsaved so you can't use that as an excuse if you had an unsaved husband well but he's not saved so i don't have to submit to him that's not that's not what god said while they behold your chaste which means innocent clean and pure conversation or or behavior coupled with fear whose adorning and then it goes on talks about the hair and the gold but then it says but let it be the hidden man of the heart in that which is not corruptable even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit which is in the sight of god a great price a meek and quiet spirit does that mean that we never talk i'm a very bold and talky person does that mean i have to change my entire personality no it means that that although you know at our husband and all of these things that that i hello i'm so guilty of this because my flesh takes over um it means that that needs to stop you know it talks about a woman being able to win her her husband to the lord just by her her behavior all right her her goodness the goodness of god coming through her all right just think about how homes could change if if we both did these things the man would feel respected he would be more at rest in his home instead of on
guard all the time what she coming at with me you know at me with now the woman would feel more loved all right because that's the thing men want to be respected women want love and the devil is always getting us to fight against those two things that we need he's always trying to have the woman disrespect her her husband which makes the husband withdraw or react in a way that makes the wife feel unloved i mean it's just a setup is all it is and it's all because we don't submit to god all right and then i was going to say it says for after this manner in the old time the holy women also who trusted in god adorned themselves being in subjection unto their own husbands even as sarah obeyed adam and it goes on there you can read that that's first peter 3 1-7 but you notice what it says it says for after this manner they trusted god these women trusted god it's just like what john bevere said in his book it's it's not that your husband's perfect it's not that your wife is perfect it's it's that you trust god and you want to live pleasing to him all right so genesis 12. and i you know what i didn't turn there so i bet i better that would help because my sheets all messed up here but genesis 12 this this is so funny because you get both examples with abraham and sarah well it was sarai and abram at that time but you get both examples and yet in the new testament abraham is used as a great father of faith and you just heard me read sarah was sarah was used as one who trusted her husband and obeyed him okay but they weren't perfect so genesis 12 verse 11. and it came to pass when he was come near to enter into egypt he said unto sarah his wife behold now i know that thou art a fair woman to look upon it and that's sweet he's saying yeah i know you're so beautiful babe therefore it shall come to pass when the egyptians shall see thee that they shall say this is his wife and they shall kill me but they will say save thee alive say i pray thee thou art my sister that it may be well with me for thy sake and my soul shall live because of thee and it came to pass that when abram was coming to egypt the egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair the princes also of the pharaoh saw her and commended her before the pharaoh and the woman was taken into pharaoh's house and he entreated abram well for her sake and
he had sheep and oxen and asses and men servant and maidservants and girl donkeys and camels and the lord plagued pharaoh and his house with great plagues because sarah abram's wife and the pharaoh called abram and basically he said what is up with this you know what have you done to me and what does he do he sends him and his wife away doesn't kill him as abram had imagined doesn't kill him and sends them on with more than they came with all right so they end up getting a blessing but you know what's incredible here this woman went along with what her husband was doing and it was messed up i mean it was wrong he was not looking at god's promises god said what he was going to do with this man god gave him promises very awesome promises but he got into fear you know fear is the opposite of faith right it fights against it so he gets into fear and he totally disregards god's promises even though he's a godly man and loves the lord and he gives his wife away he walks out of the deal she submits to this crazy plan he walks out of the deal they both walk out of the deal with more than they came into it blessed right and safe protection and prosperity that's a great example for us you know doesn't matter what husbands have done we trust in the lord if we're living for god we need to get to the point where we trust him over everything else even if there are mistakes people are people since when do we think that our husbands have to meet this high standard that nobody else in the world can you know people are people so then but then we have another another example with them for this couple they're probably a lot like all they were a lot like all of us just up and down and back forth um and god had promised what did he promise him you're gonna have children you're gonna be the father of many nations right so that's a promise from god almighty if you go on you read in genesis 16 talks about what does sarah decide sarah decide well it's not happening like god said so i'm going to take it into my own hands i'm going to deal with this all right because we're getting old and she starts what does she start doing re reasoning in her head well god said this but this is how it needs to come about all right so what does she do sixteen verse one
now sarah abram's wife bare him no children and she had a handmaid an egyptian whose name was hagar and sarah said unto abram behold now the lord hath restrained me from bearing i pray thee go into my hand my maid it may be that i may obtain children by her and abram what did he do hearkened to the voice of sarah do we remember what happened to adam when this happened let's learn some lessons from these stories right from these like these accounts of of what happened he hearkened to the voice of his wife and and sarah abram's wife took hagar her maid and um and the egyptian after abram had dwelt ten years in elena kane and gave her to her husband abram to be his wife and so they go on she conceives and what happens chaos right sarah gets jealous uh hagar gets a little bit attitude like ha ha look at me i've had a yeah i'm burying his child and you can't you've been with him all this time she gets an attitude women can really go at it right they can they can go at it and so she ends up sending her away treating her badly there's just all of this chaos in their family and why because he hearkened into the voice of his wife right instead of focusing on god's promises and god's commands god never told him to do this we need to check our moving forward with god if we're his children we hear his voice we're his sheep we hear his voice we need to check our moving forward with god and not reason that it's the best thing right so what what comes out of this i just think this is very profound out of that disobedience because that's what it was they birthed ishmael now who is ishmael exactly father of the arab nations what's going on in the world now all right we've just got chaos and craziness and aggression and people trying to you know basically wipe out god's people and it was birthed out of this act of disobedience between a husband and a wife you can't tell me this isn't an important issue you know he put it in his word it's an important issue all right um let's see all right i'm going over here we'll just go ahead and close out with a few other things it'll only be about another hour just kidding um this was an interesting way of looking at it you know i i said that about unity and that's what god wants for our families um the prefix die as in d.i means two right
putting it together with division this means two visions why are so many churches and homes dividing today there is more than one vision which means one is not submitted to god's ordained authority god ordains set men or leaders because any two-headed organization is doomed for division right um this other scripture and i said that this is for the kids too so let's go to colossians kids are y'all awake paying attention kids kids and teenagers all right all right it's just this simple it comes down to three commands here and i mean you know there's a lot of commands but for our families kids listen up it's it says wives submit yourselves unto your own husbands all right we'll stop here let's oh i'm sorry colossians 3 18. so why submit yourselves unto your own husbands as is at is as it is fit in the lord right step submit yourselves in the greek it's h-u-p-o-t-a-s-s-o yeah you know what it means i i read this and i realized wow i'm so far from submission it just breaks my heart it means to subordinate to reflexively to obey so like a reflex your husband says something you go okay i'm not there yet i'm trying you know i keep submitting myself to my husband and my lord and and i know he's gonna work it in me more and more every day but it says reflexively means automatically instinctively without thinking so automatically instinctively without thinking to obey that's what that means women yeah that's tough but you know god doesn't give us anything to do that he doesn't empower us to do through his spirit right so then it says husbands love your wives and be not bitter against them to say that he means he probably knows that there's going to be times when they're you're really going to get irritated and want to be bitter against them because we're people and we live
together and then it says children children obey your parents in all things for this is well pleasing unto the lord it doesn't say question what they say it doesn't say whine about it go in your room throw things grumble and complain as a matter of fact god's word says not to grumble and complain all right it says to do it children obey your parents in all things for this is well pleasing unto the lord the only time that these don't these don't apply is if the person that you're submitting to is going against god's word if they're saying for you to cause bodily harm to yourself or do something that that is terribly wrong and clearly goes against god's word then you don't do something that would cause harm that's important so we're all supposed to submit and obey to somebody right how how serious is this we're gonna close with with this point here if i can get to it somewhere in my notes that i've shuffled all around not submitting is lawlessness right so go to matthew 7. matthew 7 verse 21. all right well there god said to submit it to authority that's his rules that's his law not doing that is disobedience it's it's lawlessness matthew 7 21 it says not every one that sayeth unto me and this is jesus not everyone that sayeth unto me lord lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven many will say to me in that day lord lord have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name have cast out devils and in thy name done one many wonderful works and then i will profess unto them i never knew you depart from me you work that work iniquity and that's also lawlessness you that work lawlessness violation of the law does that mean every time we mess up we're not going to go to heaven no no but if we practice this in our homes lawlessness not following god's ordained order
it just hit me last night and i you know probably got white as a sheet i'm like this is serious this is a serious matter for god obeying his commands right go back through and see what happens when people don't obey all right they don't get blessed they don't live you know always come out of now they can repent but if we as women as husbands husbands man up not saying that you're not i'm just saying that's a phrase man up be the man that god said you're supposed to be in his word doesn't mean you beat down your wife and say you're not and that's what a lot of people go back out of sermons you remember what that preacher said you're not doing that no that means you obey his word you follow his word you do what it says and like in john bevere's situation his story you let god deal with the other that doesn't mean you neglect your duty as the leader in the head like he told her i am the leader and i'm going to lead but it means that you get your section in order and then you pray for your wife you pray for your husband and you pray for your family god's will be done right that means that not ours that means it's not going to always and usually agree with our will and what we think is best all right so that's a serious that's a serious note to leave on but that's how serious lawlessness is jesus said he turned him away and in john bevere's book towards the end he talks about a vision that he had god gave him a vision and it really just sunk into him he saw multitudes of people at the gates of heaven multitudes he said i couldn't even begin to count how many they were and they were saying this thing and they were turned away and they were like he said the the looks on their faces it was just heart-wrenching because they knew that they were christians and they knew they were entering in and they were turned away because of lawlessness we've got to obey his word and the first thing we do is get our families in order all right um psalm 139 i think probably almost every time i preach it's probably one that i i close out with search me oh god and know my heart try me and know my thoughts and see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting psalm 139 23-24 that's that's what i i want us all to walk away with this i started to just do this at our ladies bible study and we've been praying about it and you know there are things we have to get ourselves in order we're so close to the end
i mean so close to the end i don't want to see y'all turned away it's a serious matter let's get our houses in order people at this church and everybody that's listening all right let's pray father i thank you for your word lord god i thank you lord that you have given us this word you have given us your commands because you love us and you want the best for us lord god and i just pray right now in jesus name that every person in this place and every person listening to the the podcast or the cds lord god lord that they would hearken unto your word lord god and they would be obedient to your word lord they would not just hear and go about their business but they would lay down their lives and follow you with all of their hearts lord i pray right now in jesus name for a spirit of repentance to come and do your work lord god lord i pray in jesus name that you would show us the places that we are off the places that do not please you lord god lord i pray in jesus name that as we go about our weeks holy spirit you would convict us like never before when we step out of your godly christian order lord lord we want to be pleasing to you lord i pray that you would just pour out your anointing in your spirit lord and and just help us to move in your direction lord god instead of in our own in jesus name i just want anybody who who needs prayer about this issue or to come up and
