got it on the phone I hope you know the phones one day is not going to work for you so you're going to have to have one of these a all [Laughter] right I don't know what it is I can read the Bible on the phone and I can read it like here and I just it's doesn't even compare to me about I I need the book but I want you to turn to Luke chapter 14 and and um this is going to be one of those days I'm convinced that probably about 95% of the problems in a Christian's life or in anybody's life for that matter uh in a marriage uh we say Christian marriage most any problem you want to break it down it comes down to this how surrendered are we to Jesus you see I believe this is why the church is full of people that say they believe in Jesus but they're not born again and their lives are not transformed and they don't hate sin and and love righteousness they don't hate sin and love Jesus with all their heart because let me tell you something something if you love Jesus you will look at sin like it's a rattlesnake right and only crazy people fool with rattlesnakes right and you hear what I'm saying you're supposed to love Jesus and hate sin and want to flee from it if that's not your desire one of two things is going on either you're not truly Born Again Jesus is not truly Lord of your life and you haven't had a supernatural Born Again experience or you're completely backsliding because you've been deceived by some false Doctrine out there and see this is what you don't hear in churches and what I'm about to read this is Jesus speaking here and this is you know in my Bible it's in red we're going to go down to verse 25 and it's important to notice that Jesus was speaking to the multitudes here and when he was speaking he wasn't again so this wasn't to his disciples in private this wasn't even a parable this was him letting them know the multitudes that there is no such thing as halfway with him there is no such thing as well I got I I got my church fixed or I got a little bit of Jesus and and I'm good and then you go live like the devil the rest of the week do whatever you want to do indulge sin love
sin love the things of the world um if that's true you just haven't died to yourself you haven't truly repented and you haven't truly made Jesus Lord and you're not truly a disciple of Jesus so he says this to the multitudes let's read here verse 25 and there went great multitudes with him and he turned and said unto them if any man come to and hate not his father and mother and wife and children and Brethren and sisters and yay his own life also he cannot be my disciple now I've given you the definition of hate if you look it up in the the Strong's uh Greek dictionary you'll find out it'll say on there to love less right we we sometimes we put these connotations of things in English and it's not exactly the same name in the original Greek or Hebrew but you know we go oh I don't hate anybody well but if you go by the biblical definition it means to love less than you should so what Jesus is saying here is not that you have hatred in your heart toward your father your mother your sister your wife your brethren your children he's saying You must love them less than you love me God has to be first your children can't even be first I I know Christians that worship their children they will get offended they will get all bent out of shape about their children instead of what God wants a lot of people make decisions based on their children and not what God wants but that goes too there people have made Idols out of their spouse or a girlfriend or a boyfriend and the Lord is saying you cannot love anything more than more than me and if you do it's idolatry you understand and he's saying if that so if you love if there's something you love more than me then you cannot be my disciple means it's impossible you can't truly follow Jesus and put other things in front of him you can't do it not a job not money not your own Comfort even you understand what most Christians in America just want they just want comfort and sometimes when the Lord is wanting you to do certain things to follow him it's uncomfortable let's keep reading this is verse 26 that's just the first one he said If any man come to me and hate not his father
and mother and wife and children and Brethren and sisters and yay his own life you you you got to be willing to if if it puts you in danger the Lord has led me to places to preach where my life was in danger but you know what I knew you know there's certain trips you go on if you obey the Lord sometimes you may not come back say Amen or oh me right then he says this verse 27 and whosoever does not bear his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple how many of you want to guess with the word come there after me how many you want to guess what the verb tense is there in the Greek language yeah present tense Greek verb ongoing continuous action taking place in the present the Lord says you have to come after him with all your heart soul mind and strength and you got to do that all the time you got to do that until the end of your life or to the end of this age you got to go after Jesus and what he wants for your life Holiness righteousness obedience forsaking of evil and taking up your cross meaning you're identifying with him you're willing to do remember Jesus when he came here he said the things and he did the things that the political people didn't like that the religious people didn't like and that most of your uh regular people didn't like I mean they wouldn't have crucified him if his words did not Pierce their hearts and bring conviction see the Jesus that is preached in in 99% of churches now in the world is not this Jesus that says You must forsake everything take up your cross and follow me or you cannot be my disciple they do not talk about that they say say this little prayer raise your hand and make sure you tithe because they know if they start preaching what Jesus actually said then people are going to walk out the door because people are going to get offended because everybody wants it nice and sweet and gentle and easy but when Jesus said the words take up your cross I don't even think it registered with his disciples exactly what he was saying until after his crucifixion he's saying when you follow me you're literally picking up your
death sentence if you really follow Jesus you will be Marked for Death and that is especially now in the time we're living in you want to talk about that time is coming quickly upon us where you will have to decide I mean there's decisions that already had to be made the devil keeps putting stuff out there you know the uh 2020 was a test and a lot of Christians failed how many took that jibid jab I wonder sometimes I mean we don't know or realize that almost all these I'd say almost all it's pretty pretty close to it all these you know V's come from a boarded fetal cell should a Christian be injecting that stuff into their body that could preach for a while right there but I'm not I'm just going to and then Jesus goes on to say this after he says whosoever does not bear his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple he said for which of you intending to build a tower sth not down first and cth the cost whether he have sufficient to finish it lest happily after he ha laid the foundation and is not able to finish it all that behold it begin to Mo him saying this man began to build but was not able to finish or what king going to make war against another king sth not down first and consulted whether he be able with 10,000 to meet him that cometh against him with 20,000 or else while the other is a great way off he sendeth ambassage and ambassadors rather and desires conditions of Peace So likewise whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath he cannot be my disciple forsake it there is a present tense Greek verb means ongoing continuous action taking place in the present so the context of this finishing the tower this context of going to war outnumbered is the context of have you decided to be a true disciple of Jesus to the end have you decided to be a disciple of Jesus if everyone forsakes you if all men hate you if your family leaves you if your husband or wife leaves you if your children Rebel and turn against you have
you made up your mind you're going to follow Jesus and live the way he wants you to live no matter what if you have it then you are a lukew halfhearted not devoted Christian you got to name Christian but a Christian a true Christian is a disciple of Jesus continually oh somebody say Amen or oh me come on now continually go to Luke chapter 9 go to verse 57 it says and it came to pass that as they went in the way a certain man said unto him Lord I will follow thee where withs soever thou goest I'll Follow You Lord wherever you go and Jesus said unto them foxes have holes and birds of the air have Nest but the son of man hath not where to lay his head so what he was telling the guy is hey if you follow me you might be sleeping out under the stars we don't know what's going to are are you willing to to be able to rough it a little bit are you going to can you handle it if you really follow me that's what he was saying to the guy and he said to another follow me but he said Lord suffer me first to go and bury my Father and Jesus said unto him let the dead bury the dead but go thou and preach the kingdom of God now now think about that for a second what he was saying there the man was saying you know what my father's old maybe he's about to die let me first go take care of that and I'll come follow you and the Lord goes Let the dead bury the dead now see if I said this people be it right people be all offended this is Jesus talking to this guy he said I because what he told him was hey you follow me that means right now pack it up let's go and what was he finding out about the guy the family situation came before following Jesus say well Pastor Dean you shouldn't we take care of prep parents let me tell you something let me tell you how you take care of everybody you're going to take care of everybody the best when you
obey the Lord and follow him because you know what you you running over here trying to fix a problem when God wants you over there and you're over here trying to fix a problem let me just tell you right now the problem is not going to be fixed but if you go do what the Lord said to do and pray and trust him then he can fix the problem that you can't fix anyway your job is to be over here in the will of God that's what we're supposed to do and I know I talked about this last week this I guess this is part two of obeying the Lord but folks I don't understand people that say oh I'm G to I want to I want Jesus to be Lord of my life but then they don't let him be Lord right it's really what they want is they want to be saved without obeying they want fire insurance but no premiums to pay and yes it's free salvation is free you can't earn it but once you receive it by faith you have to keep it come on and that's not me talking that's Jesus what did did he say to the Jews that believed on him John 8:31 to the Jews that believed on him if you continue in my word then you are my disciples indeed and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free if you continue see they believed the word there in in John 8 31 y'all can put it up and 32 the word there believe is saving faith in Jesus Christ so they believed but then what did Jesus command them to do if you continue in my word then are you my disciples indeed continue in his word means you continue to study it meditate on it pray over it and Obey it you live according to the word of God you must hate sin you got to hate fornication and adultery and drunkenness you got to hate this wickedness in this world you don't hate the people that are tied up in it but you got to hate it see you gota you got to hate it because you know this that sin and that stuff the lust of the world and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life and all that stuff that's in the world all that stuff that pulls on our flesh pornography all of that stuff all of that stuff that pulls on our flesh is trying to destroy us because it's trying to pull us away from Jesus he wants to get us away from
God and destroy us so you have to look at sin as the enemy not something you want to cuddle up with right see to me I thought you know when I came back to the Lord this was to me was Christianity 101 just basic wow I got the full Revelation my eyes was opened that if I continue to live in the Sin I was in the fornication the drugs the drinking the partying the fighting and just loving the world's entertainment and music and everything else I knew if I kept doing that in indulging and enjoying the sins and pleasures of the world that I would be lost and I knew the Holy Spirit was showing me you must turn from sin and follow me see when the Lord spoke to me you know I had the modeling career I was just had the screen test I was supposed to I was I was supposed to leave for Hollywood to be in Die Hard one that's that was what I was about to do I was about to leave Troy State University and and go to Hollywood to film to be in the movie they didn't even tell me what part I had they said we've got you a part in the movie you got to go to La and I was like Wow and obviously it was a speaking part they said because we're going to give you speech classes we got to get rid of your southern accent they were probably going to make me one of the terrorists the European terrorist it's probably going to be working for Hans grber I thank God he didn't let me go out there but when he spoke to me he said these words the first time I ever heard the Lord speak to me I'd been under conviction of my sins for three weeks the Holy Spirit just dealing with me every day because I was working with a true Born Again Spirit-filled Christian that just laid the truth on me and I was convicted about my drinking and getting drunk and the party and the drugs I was doing because I was smoking marijuana and using cocaine from time to time and I I mean I was just crazy LSD [Music] mushrooms um so wonder I didn't kill myself I I drank so much sometimes that I got alcohol poisoning and the Lord said Son you can have everything the world has to offer and go to hell or you can surrender your life to me and live forever and I knew I had a vision of two roads and I had to choose and he showed me one road I saw the alcohol bottles
and the drugs paraphernalia and it's just darkness and I knew that was the road to destruction and the road to hell that was also the road to Hollywood and then I saw another road and I saw Jesus hanging on the cross in the distance and I saw the light and glory of God there and I knew I had to pick I had to pick and that's when I made a decision and see this is the decision we have to make I made a decision I said well Lord I'm either going all the way with you or I'm not going I said I I told him I said I will not be a hypocrite and I meant it and I knew that every thing in my life that I was doing and all the plans that I had everything I knew that was over that surrender meant full surrender to God as my Lord and Savior my master the one I was going to follow and Obey no matter what and see this is why look you you want to know why so many people are are in church are just troubled and depressed and discour I going to tell you most of it yes there's demonic stuff that can oppress you or you need deliverance from of course but most of it is because there has not been full and total surrender to Jesus you're holding back something or the word that you know there's one thing you lack one thing what see I love Jesus Jesus always cut to the chest didn't he Mark 10 the Rich Young Ruler you know runs to Jesus Oh what must I do to inherit eternal life you know I've been a good boy I've kept the law I've obeyed the word I've been a moral good person what must I do to inherit eternal life and it says Jesus looking at him beholding not loved him see this wasn't about that Jesus didn't love him but Jesus knows what he knew what the man needed and Jesus says to him one thing you lack go sell everything you have give it to the poor and come and follow me that was the call to forsake everything and follow Jesus Jesus knew what his Idol was and pinpointed it and it says the man what went away sorrow F because he had many possessions but you see what would preacher somebody run into the altar today and say oh what must I do to inherit eternal life and
99.999% of preachers going to say just say this prayer sign this card join the church tithe and show up help in the nursery deliver our brownies and cookies to people make sure you serve in the coffee shop and what they should say is have you surrendered All to Jesus are you willing to give up all your sin all your own plans your entire life are you willing to lay that all down and truly f follow Jesus as your lord and savior but we don't say that see when you stand before God to give an account of your life it's not just what you prayed one time it's just it's not just about the day you were born again or you believ the gospel it's about where did you end up what did you do what did you how did you live your life where did you where did you walk so many people man so many people are deceived by this modern mega church mentality and a lot of it came from the Roman Catholic church and John Calvin and all these other Heretics out there false teachers if we just stuck with what Jesus said we'd be all right we don't need the Pope apotamus we don't need pedophile priest we don't need a confessional or a little wafer they think turns into Jesus and they worship it or marry Idols Idols Idols Idols the devil's always listen he's always going to try to set something in front of you to put it in front of Jesus you know I've I've used this illustration many times they said people people have got this shelf and they got their idols on the shelf and then they just want to add Jesus to the Shelf
think that's they're okay no Jesus wants everything on the Shelf destroyed thrown away and he's the only one you follow see I'm going to tell you right now my life has been a constant of 37 years of continuing to try to follow Jesus and walk with him it has been a constant will you give this up will you leave this it has been one test after another after another after another and it all boils down to do I love Jesus more than I love my children my wife my home my property whatever my dogs I love Jesus I love my family my wife knows that my daughters know that my older daughters they really know that dad's not going dad's not going to put me above Jesus and you know sometimes I'll tell you what children get offended with that they get offended when you put Jesus first but that's fine let them be offended they little rebellious brats they can be brats if they want to right like y'all can figure it out but I'm I'm walking with him so if you want to be with me let's go walk with him and then we can be in agreement that's why that's why Amos 336 can two walk together except they be agreed it's impossible you're going to have people turn on you I mean that's why Jesus said in fact let's go to go to Matthew chapter 10 I'm going to tell you I I this is for somebody today because I feel the anointing of the Holy Spirit on this right now verse 34 actually let's back up I'm sorry verse 32 here's what Jesus said he said whosoever therefore shall confess me before men him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven but whosoever shall deny me before men him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven think not that I come to send peace on Earth I came not to send peace but a sword for I am come to set a man at variance against his father and a daughter against her mother and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law and a man's foes or enemies shall be they of his own household he that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me he that loveth son or daughter more than
me is not worthy of me and he that taketh not up H taketh not his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me he that findeth his life shall lose it and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it the sword what is the sword that Jesus it is the word of God it is the truth you know there's no you know hiding this why me and my older daughter have issues because when she was 19 and finished Southern Union she comes to my house to tell me how she's going to move in with her boyfriend and live together in Chicago and when I told her that sin a fornication that you're going to live in and living in you will not go to heaven I told her the truth you cannot live this way and she calls herself a Christian and it's still so bad that she does doesn't speak to me she just got married didn't even invite me to her wedding but I don't compromise I I love Caitlyn but I don't love her more than Jesus I don't love her more than the truth and I'm going to give her the truth even though she doesn't like it like Pastor Dean you shouldn't talk about stuff like that well guess what that's life some of you there there because of what you believe following Jesus it has divided you from a brother or a sister or parents or children but Jesus is saying that's normal if you follow Jesus there will be a sword of his word of his truth and if people don't want it and you want it what do you think's going to happen but are you willing to go through that to put him first look I want to tell you it's been a painful thing in my life very painful of what has happened in that relationship but it's not ruling my life you understand it doesn't determine how I live or what I preach or my walk with the Lord I still pray for her every time I pray that God will convict her of her sin that God will deal with her heart that she will come to the knowledge of
the truth that she will find out what it means to be a real Christian and not the lukewarm believer that she is see Jesus tells us what what the reality is you're going to be hated rejected there's going to be relationships that you're going to lose if you're going to truly forsake all and follow me if you're truly going to take up your cross and be my my disciple continually and you know what's amazing there will be people in this journey that we have to go on following Jesus there will be people who will come alongside us and they'll walk with us for a while in that journey and then they will quit at some point they'll get offended it's funny one of my best friends this is hilarious best friends for years I mean prayed together studied the Bible together went out preaching on the street together traveled overseas together I mean we were best friends but it's like as God began to show me things and began to speak to me about like the particular church he was in and God began to show me what was going on in that church and I I when when I decided to confront it oh boy cuz he wanted to just keep his job he knew stuff is going on but he's willing to turn the look at the other way and from then on it just kind of went well it was even a few things before that but it just kind of went on and on that even now we are at the point now where he's really my enemy he actively works against me speaks against me fights me even though he knows that I am a born again Spirit-filled praying man who's trying to do what God called him to do yet he has turned against me and spoken against me and fought against me at every turn but we walked together for a long time that's funny one of the things we got in a big argument about years ago 2016 was about Trump and now today he's on X pushing Trump and said that he was deceived for years about Trump because of the he listened to the media and I'm like oh really I think somebody told you what the Lord said you know that's one of the things about hearing from God you always going to be a little ahead of the curve and that's another thing the sword of the the the sword here the sword of the spirit is both the you know remember
last week I had my sword Faith getting sword again the sword of the spirit the sword is the written word and it is the holy spirit speaking word to you so I say you want you want to talk about you upsetting people start doing what the Lord tells you to do come here pretty girl the sword of the spirit Jesus said I come to put a sword see when he's talking about that he says divide pick your side see the sword makes you pick a side see right now in the body of Christ that the sword of the truth about homosexuality pick pick your side abortion pick your side Holiness and obedience pick your side but but but Pastor Dean my wife won't go that way with me you better not worry about that you better go with Jesus Oh but Pastor D my husband won't go you better go with Jesus and let him do whatever he's going to do but he might leave me let him go it's about Jesus being Lord king of your life the sword is always going to be there he didn't promise you everything would be peaceful and easy don't wor brother it's not sharp the sword of the spirit divides and sometimes it's just something simple in the word just something simple you know we have a rule here and and and we abide by it no male and females up here unmarried single whatever not married to each other you're not hanging out alone up here at the church but guess what you shouldn't be doing that elsewhere either because it the Bible commands us to abstain from the appearance of evil right so what is that Jesus said he came to br bring the sword not peace oh but Pastor Dean he's the Prince of Peace oh he's going to come back with the sword first and then there will be peace because he's going to get rid of the ones causing the
disturbance and that's when he gets rid of all the wicked that he will establish peace on Earth in his Millennial Reign but the question is will you be there with him ah sword fell I'll get Pastor Troy just wants to touch the sword feel the [Laughter] power right you can borrow it brother if you want to yeah you know I can't believe it's only man we're just getting started but let me let me just say this when it comes to following Jesus you have to for be willing to forsake sin but you also have something else you need to do and this is something I want to stress to you and I felt when we were back there during worship that that this was part of the message is that if you're going to be a disciple of Jesus Christ if you're going to truly be able to follow him then you're going to have to spend a lot of time in the place of prayer you're going to have to seek Him you understand why do you think it says seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you Matthew 633 seek first the kingdom of God well how do you do that well what did Jesus say Matthew 7:7 seek and you'll find knock and you'll be open ask ask seek knock right I know I'm going fast here's what's amazing about that we go back to go to uh Matthew 7:7 he says ask and you shall receive seek and you will find knock and it will be open to you I just went back while I was over there during praise and worship and checked again the Greek verb tenses of these words and it does mean exactly that the verb ask the verb seek and the verb knock are all present tense Greek verbs ongoing continuous action taking place in the present so the Lord is saying you have got to seek me you've got to ask you've got to you've got to seek you've got to knock meaning what does that mean about knocking that means that there are doors that are closed that if you don't ask seek and knock they're not going to be opened this is why Jesus said in Luke 18:1 man always to pray and not to faint when Jesus went to his disciples
and he he he pulled out Peter and James and John and he goes to the Garden of Gethsemane where he's under great spiritual stress to the point he starts sweating great drops of blood and he's trying to pray through this war he's in with Satan and he says come watch and pray with me and they fall asleep and he says what could you not watch with me one hour you couldn't even hang an hour in prayer for me and with me don't you see the stress I am in and see Jesus yes he's God In the Flesh but he chose to operate as a man anointed by God so you got to see his he he was our example so he you see the spiritual struggle and it wasn't just spiritual because it was mental emotional physical but where did Jesus go when it was when there was a war going on and so he would be sure to do the will of the father where did he go to the place of prayer what would Jesus do many times what it says he would leave the multitudes and go apart and pray he was teaching us the place of prayer and seeking God and worshiping God that private time is where you're going to get your strength it's where you're going to be filled with the ability to even study the word and hear what God is saying and be able to know what you're supposed to do how many I know there are Christians right now that go days and they don't have a private prayer time oh I threw up a prayer when I was driving to the store okay well that's nice and wonderful but do you have real time with God that you seek him that you're asking and keep asking that you're seeking and you keep seeking and you're knocking and you keep knocking I think about Paul how many times he said at Romans and filimon and several places he he told them those churches I'm always what making mention of you in my prayers we forget you know the the Ephesians 6 about the armor when he ends about putting on the armor he says praying always with all prayer and supplication for all the saints let me ask you something do you pray for everybody in this church D Pastor D said yep I know and I know she does she Ain lying I think about every single one of you I name you in my prayers when I pray for you many people out there that don't even go here to the physical fire and Grace Church I pray for
them it's prayer and prayer in your prayer time you should have time you worship you should have time you read the word and meditate on it and talk to God about what you're reading say Pastor Dean I don't have time let me tell you something right now if you say you don't have time then you better make time I used to tell people back in the day now this is not so much a problem now I guess it would have to do it with the phone now this little devil right here steals a lot of your time used to be the TV set I used to tell people that say people tell me I don't have time to pray and study the Bible and I'd say write that on a 3x5 card and stick it to your TV set now y ought to get it and stick it to your phone I don't have time we got time for Candy Crush I see some guilty parties in here I just threw that one out there and I'm not saying it's wrong to play a game but you know what if you're playing that for hours and you're not praying what are you doing you've got to spend time and and I and I can't stress this enough especially as we enter into these these days ahead of us these next few years are going to be be absolutely chaotic no matter what happens in the election chaos will ensue the New World Order people are still going to go through with their plans no matter what happens they're just going to adjust them depending on who manages to get into the White House there's going to be economic upheaval we are already seeing gangs from Central and South America taking over places like apartment buildings now in Colorado and stuff better not try that crap in Alabama that's all I know we're being flooded in fact homeland security has admitted that they know that Venezuela has emptied out their prisons and sent them here so that's not just Trump saying something that is not true Homeland Security I can't believe they admitted it they're allowing our country to be

would be done on Earth as it is in heaven but we have to pray it I said the calvinist all start freaking out their heads start cracking open exploding oh God is Sovereign God is yes he's Sovereign he can do what he wants but he has made certain rules that he goes by and he wants us to be co-laborers with him join HS with him he wants us interacting with him we are part of praying and doing his will in the earth making what he wants in heaven happen here on the earth and the devil is at war with us trying to stop that very thing so if we don't pray and fast if we don't use the Lord's Prayer I use it as an outline not as some repetitive thing like the Catholics do but I use them as a full outline of these are things I need to do in prayer you do that you use the Lord's Prayers an outline and pray for a while you'll be there for an hour and then on top of that you say well Pastor Dean I get there to pray and sometimes I just pray I pray pray pray and then I don't know what else to say I just have no more words that's when you need to be praying in tongues you hear me that's why it's so important to be baptized in the holy spirit with evidence of speaking in other tongues because that takes you to another level in prayer you're praying the perfect will of God you're speaking Mysteries between you and God no man understands what you're saying you don't understand what you're saying but the Bible says you're edifying yourself and building yourself up and you're speaking to God in these Mysteries meaning when you pray and then he says if a man pray in an Unown tongue let him pray that he may interpret so while you're praying in tongues you can in your head say Lord I've like the interpretation of this and sometimes he will let you know what you're praying about or the mystery of secrets that y'all talking about this why the devil hates the gift of tongues this is why he's so against it so many churches and pastors and seminaries oh they fight that but if I was the devil too I would fight something that's powerful and helps you pray see what the devil wants to stop is the prayer meeting folks that's why Wednesday night Wednesday night prayer even though sometimes we come here on Wednesday nights and it's the last place I want to be I do not want to be here and sometimes when we pray it just feels like we're just trying to we're walking through a desert sinking in sand sometimes it just prayer sometimes is difficult you cannot go by your feelings you have to be faithful to do it now sometimes the Lord will come in and sweep in you get to his the refreshing surge of his presence and power but most most of the time it's
like you know as my old Pastor used to say prayer is like digging holes and anybody digging the Earth that's work and other days you set in poles and other days you're stringing wire and then then you make a connection and then you go back to digging holes and setting poles prayer is and this is another thing I believe why God doesn't give us feelings every time we pray because he doesn't want us to go by feelings faith says I need to go pray so I can get strength from God so I can know I'm praying through and fighting the devil and you don't go by feelings I don't come here on Wednesday nights to prayer meeting by my feelings and sometimes after we prayed and I leave and I just go God that was terrible sometimes it's just it's a struggle to pray it's dead it feels like you're in a rut it feels like you're just you're getting nowhere but you still have to be faithful you have to believe that you as you're obeying the scripture and you're seeking Jesus that that is where he's going to give you the strength remember I think this about the Garden of Gethsemane there was nothing in the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was having Comfort or peace he was in full War Warfare full anxiety full stress it wasn't a pleasant time but he had to do it he had to be in that place of prayer to be able to have the strength to go and take the beating and be nailed to the cross Gethsemane is where the battle was won that's why prayer is so important so don't tell me you're a disciple of Jesus but you have no prayer life don't tell me you're a disciple of Jesus but you you keep loving sin and wickedness and evil of the world and you keep practicing it and look I'm going to tell you the true Christian that loves Jesus and has made Jesus Lord if they sin oh they hate it they are torn up about it and don't want to do it anymore if that's not you something's wrong with you if you don't hate sin like that and you know why you should hate it not just because it can take you to hell I don't even think about that as much as I think about I don't want something in my life that's going to mess up my relationship with Jesus that's enough let's stand
I think y'all get the picture you think about Jesus saying the man that sets his hand to the plow and looks back is not fit for the kingdom what's he talking about looking back to remember when he told Lot's wife he's getting ready to destroy Sodom and gomorra don't don't look back he said why do you think he told him not to look back I mean here God's about to do one of the most powerful demonstrations of judgment that the world's ever seen five cities He reigns fire and brimstone upon them to destroy them but he says Don't Look Back he was telling them this place is so wicked and it wasn't just man in fact they they found you know there's been stuff they found and and they know about Sodom and gomorra that it was so wicked that they had pornographic drawings on the walls of the town they had uh homosexual acts depicted on their plates and dinner wear I mean it was a Place full of sexual perversion of every kind and lot and his family lived there lot should have never moved there but when the Lord told them don't look back he would say there is nothing here that you need to desire or want but what happened Lot's wife they're leaving and she turns around and looks back and God judges her but why did she look back because Sodom was in her heart she actually loved the place I mean God was God was trying to get her out of there even though she didn't want to go he was trying to get their children out of there even though they didn't want to go think about this what God does all the time he's trying to get us out of that sin and World System he's got to trying to get us out of loving that stuff and longing for that stuff like drugs or alcohol or adultery or pornography or whatever homosexuality we're all going to be tempted the flesh wants to go that direction and the devil makes it easy it it's everywhere but you have to be a person that says I am not going to go that way I'm going to resist and deny my flesh myself and I'm going to take up the cross and I'm going to follow Jesus and I'm going to do what he wants me to do you I mean there sometimes it's easy way
to make a decision you know I said years ago when I was single in my 20s I got a job doing Pest Control I shared this before but when you do Pest Control you have to go into people's houses in the middle of the day well I started finding out that I was going to a lot of houses where the husband was away at work and the wives were home and then the wives start making moves on trying to you know lure me into adultery with him and I finally had to go I I went and took all my equipment back to the guy that hired me it didn't last but about a week because I said I I can't do this he said why I said because I can't as a as a Christian man I can't keep going into these homes with these hoes that want to cheat on their husbands and I mean it wasn't a few either I was I was like shocked I'm like good lord I can't keep doing this and because let me tell you something even though I was living for Jesus 100% you find yourself in that situation and the Temptation becomes strong oh I who's going to know that's why I was like I'm not even putting myself in this situation anymore right so what did I do I quit that job you know what I needed a job I had bills to pay but guess what that's part of that forsaking all stuff let's pray father I just thank you I thank you for this word you've given us Lord the scriptures and I thank you God that you reveal Yourself by your spirit to us and we thank you Jesus you are the fullness of the godhead bodily fully God fully man I thank you for everything you went through the beating the scourging the being nailed to the cross to pay for our sins so that we could have eternal life you rose from the dead Lord to prove that death had no hold on you you lived a sinless life help us Lord to be be more than just Believers but Lord help us to understand that we must be disciples willing to forsake all willing to lose everything willing to walk away from any situation or any person that doesn't want to walk with us willing to put you first because you are worthy you are the Creator the King of Kings the Lord of lords the God of all gods the only one who could die for our sins and pay the
