God we thank you that you still speak to us God you can still communicate with your people God even when we're being hard-headed and stubborn and or you can still break through and speak to us or let us all learn to listen to hear your voice and follow you or I thank you for your word I thank you for the truth but I thank you most of all that you didn't leave us alone you sent your your Holy Spirit to live and dwell in us to lead us and guide us into all truth to speak to us and show us things to come we worship you today and we praise you today it's in Jesus name we pray amen hallelujah you may be seated this morning we welcome everyone fire and Grace Church those watching listening by blog talk or radio YouTube Facebook our website whoever else uh we welcome everyone um you know maybe the Lord I was just thinking maybe the Lord sometimes you know he just doesn't tell me even though I pray all through the week he just won't tell me what he wants me to do sometimes until the very last minute I've had people say I don't know how in the world you do that especially when you got to stand in front of people and preach and teach and literally we have thousands of people now that watch and listen and that's it's not an exaggeration it blows my mind you know we'll have 20 30 people here sometimes we'll have hundreds and hundreds watching live and then thousands watch later it just it really blows my mind but uh the Lord just simply will not let me get away from this subject even though I've talked about it a lot over the last really over the last year and that is the gifts of the Holy Spirit and hearing God's voice and Walking with God in a real relationship where it's a two-way conversation it's not just a one-way conversation um there's a lot of lot of hating going on out there about uh Pentecostals and charismatics and the idea that you know there's a segment of the church out here that still believes that the gifts of the Spirit are for today and that we should hunger and thirst for those things we should desire those things and uh and and you know a lot of people are just been out of shape because because we do have a lot of the counterfeit within the church world I don't deny that I wrote an entire book about it called the polluted Church from Rome to Kansas City so I'm a Pentecostal charismatic that believes in the gifts of the holy spirit I have operated in the in the gifts of the holy spirit for 31 years I have seen just about everything I've seen both sides of the fence I've seen the true and I've seen the counterfeit I've seen the Holy Spirit
move and I've seen the Demonic try to mimic and counterfeit and interfere and invade I mean think about it folks I mean I listen I know there's problems within the charismatic church all right the charismatic Pentecostal Church world I know I you know again I have said it a minute ago but I have written extensively about it because the Lord told me to write about it um look I I'll be be straight up honest I had somebody yesterday upset with me on Facebook simply because of the cover of my book The polluted church because I have Mike Bickle of IHOP in Kansas City on it well as much as I love Mike ble and I appreciate his stand for Jesus he has allowed deception into his life and into his ministry and it's affecting thousands of young people across the world because he's allowed Eastern mysticism techniques into his so-called prayer and prophetic movement now that's a fact you say well Pastor Dean you shouldn't say that but no I will say it it's a fact the counterfeit supernatural has moved into uh the International House of Prayer Mike bickle's Ministry and I take it simply from his own writings and his own sermons and his own books when he starts talking about guided visualization visualizing things and using repetitive words and phrases in prayer over and over again he's incorporating New Age Hindu Buddhist Meditation techniques into Christianity and it's nothing new the the Roman Catholic church has been doing that for centuries that's what ignacius lyola did in the 1500s when he started the Jesuits in The Counter Reformation one of the things he brought into it was a thing they now call lecto deina which is basically the counterfeit Supernatural and the counterfeit Supernatural using meditation and when I say satanic I mean there's there's Godly meditation there's biblical meditation and there's satanic meditation satanic meditation is when you blank out your mind you try to get you you try to get everything quiet and you use either your breathing as taught in yoga or you use some sound or sacred word you repeat over and over again until you can quiet yourself and and really move yourself into a translight state a lot of people use guided visualization where they begin to visualize them being in a peaceful place or whatever all of that is satanic demonic New Age deception and it has crept into the Roman Catholic Church it has crept into much of the Pentecostal and charismatic churches I'm just going to say it it's it crept into bethl in in Reading California and I know even though we we use some of their
music uh I I happen to know listen I'm going to say this to some people I know someone I cannot give their name because I promised I wouldn't but I know someone who knows Bill Johnson personally and knows him very well and I'm going to say this real strong because there's a lot of there's a lot of Pentecostal and charismatic haters out there I can tell you this for a fact I know that Bill Johnson of bethl church in read Cali loves Jesus Christ there's no doubt in my mind that that man is a born again Christian he loves Jesus he and he he loves he loves God and and in his mind I believe he desires the truth has he allowed a lot of deception to come into his church and Ministry yes he has and it started with the false prophet Bob Jones who also is the one who infiltrated the uh Mike Ministry uh the Kansas City Church and the Kansas City prophets thing back in the 80s matter of fact there was one it really you can trace a lot of this deception and this counterfeit and the and the Demonic uh false prophetic and the false gifts and and the Demonic healing and all of that stuff you can trace it pretty much back to this guy Bob Jones not Bob Jones University not that Bob Jones he was a he was a prophet and I can tell you right now he was the one of the most powerful false prophets that I've ever encountered and I met him on more than one occasion and I felt the Demonic power coming out of him yet he was the right-hand man of Mike ble for many years in fact Mike Bickle calls him the father of their movement he was the right-hand man with Rick jiner Morning Star Ministries in South Carolina oh yes I will name names I don't mind the doorways were open the floodgates were opened and and listen if you were the devil anyway if you were the devil and there was a segment of the church you really wanted to invade and try to pollute and stop wouldn't it be the segment of the church that still believes Jesus heals Jesus delivers from demons the gifts of the holy spirit are still for today wouldn't that be the the segment of the church you'd want to pollute contaminate discredit and try to destroy I mean if I was the devil I'd want I want to deal with the Christians who believe in casting out demons I'd want to stop them I'd want to I want to to move on the the Christians who believe that speaking in tongues is for today and helps you in prayer I I would I would want to stop that church so the devil has focused greatly in that area and he infiltrated many Ministries I could go down the list the vineyard he you know John wimber's churches he infiltrated that with the false prophet profet again Bob Jones
Paul Kaine oh yeah and I know some of you people you you may not know anything about what I'm talking about but there are people out there that know and I'm telling you I know I'm not I'm not I I had to tell this person yesterday I said you know what you better be careful cuz he was a little upset that I had you know I was exposing Mike ble I said well first of all I said you better be careful judging something before you judging a matter before you hear it I said number one I don't think you've read my book you just saw the cover number two is that I used to rub shoulders with these people I've been in their meetings I've hung out with them so this is not just here say I've experienced this stuff I've been around the block a few times in this whole Pentecostal and charismatic world all right so I'm not speaking from just my opinion I made the mistake when I was a younger pastor of letting that false prophet Bob Jones lay hands on me in a meeting and the demons that came upon me and into my life nearly destroyed me and I had to bind them and cast them out and break the power of that false prophet off me so I experienced the counterfeit and the Demonic and the satanic from a a so-called Prophet that many within the Pentecostal charismatic world had accepted as a true true Prophet what's Wild is is that Mike Beckle was warned by another Prophet before he started his ministry that a false prophet was coming to infiltrate it and then Bob Jones shows up now I don't mind saying all this because you know what we still no matter how messed up you know there's there's people uh uh Bill Johnson's wife and some of the other lunatics out there with him are laying on Graves and trying to soak up a anointing from dead uh healing Ministries all that kind of stuff is insanity okay it's demonic insanity and deception but do we throw out the baby with the bath water no sir do we say because so many Ministries out there have been infiltrated contaminated polluted by the false and the Demonic and the new age counterfeit of Satan do we throw about what the scriptures say about the gifts of the Spirit no but that's what a lot of people are doing a lot of people we throw everybody under the bus oh and and and let me just go on ahead and say listen uh there there are people out there that that because Kenneth Hagen got involved in some of that uh of what we call what was called The Laughing Revival right before he passed away a lot of
just throw out everything that he taught and you know what was was he right about everything no but you know what I read most of Kenneth Hagen's books I spent time at his place in Tulsa the man has prayed for me laid hands on me I have been in his Services I have felt the presence and the anointing of God he was not he was not a perfect man but he wasn't a devil he wasn't a deceiver he wasn't a liar he had a gift he had a gift to teach Faith to the to the church that needed it and and just a tremendous testimony but people throw him aside oh well he got off over here he got into Prosperity a lot of people don't even know that before he died he wrote a book rebuking the entire Prosperity movement that took some of the truths the biblical truths he had about God blessing you and took it to the extreme and he rebuked all of them he he called them all in a bunch of them in and told them to stop it before he died he wrote a book called the Midas touch where he rebuked it but do you ever hear him talked about that no you just hear oh Kenneth Hagen Prosperity we do too far too much of that don't we we need to be very Discerning listen the thing about being a Christian is once we are born again once we are saved we need to be seeking God to be filled with the Holy Spirit and walk in discernment and that discernment I'm talking about is that we have have to get to the point where we're able to know who's serving God and who's not just because somebody might not agree with everything that we believe or think doesn't mean they're they're not a born again Christian like I said I still I believe right now I believe Mike Bickle is a born again Christian I believe Bill Johnson's a born again Christian have they allowed the counterfeit the Demonic Eastern Mystic ISM Pagan techniques to enter in yes they have absolutely no question about it but that's not what my sermon is about today I just want to say I am I know I know there's counterfeit I know it but that doesn't mean we go you know what I'm not going to even look at what the scriptures say about the gifts of the Spirit I'm not going to I'm not going to even look at what the scriptures say about healing or Deliverance or the gift of tongues I'm not even going to look at it that's wrong right there that's completely wrong I think about it this way you know everybody talks about the Egyptian magicians you know we could read that and we are going to turn in our Bibles in a second I'm just giving you an introduction because what I heard the his Spirit of the Lord speak to me over there very plainly he said the gifts of
the Spirit and I was like Wow Lord I've kind of covered this lately he's like the gifts of the Spirit we don't really change his mind a lot do we no he knows um but I'm giving you I'm just really I'm just giving you this little introduction because it's important but think about this 2 Timothy chapter 3 talks about the perilous times we would live in the last days right men would be Covetous boasters proud blasphemers disobedient to parents unthankful Unholy I mean you can put that up go ahead and put up matter of fact we'll just turn there that's where we'll start this morning probably people need to see this in its context because I want I want to mention something about Moses and the Egyptian magicians janz and jambres let's go to second Timothy chapter 3 for y'all quiet this morning 2 Timothy 3 verse one let's just read it from there we'll read most of this this know also that in the last days perilous times shall come for men shall be lovers of their own selves Covetous boasters proud blasphemers disobedient to parents unthankful Unholy without natural affection truth Breakers or Covenant Breakers false accusers incontinent Fierce despisers of those that are good traitors heady high-minded lovers of Pleasures more than lovers of God now a lot of people stop there and think that's where it ends with the the the perilous times but he says this in the midst of all this he's talking about a powerless church here because he says these words it's a if you notice the end of verse four is a semic Col right that's how we say it here in the South so it continues to thought he said there'll be people that are lovers of their own selves Covetous disobedient to parents unable to incontinent there means unable to control themselves sexually I mean he he he gives a long list and he says but a lot of these people will have a form of godliness a form of Christianity a form of religion that means an outward show he says they will have a form right they will have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof everybody see that I mean are we living in a time when vast segments of what is called
Christianity denies and the word deny here means to reject disavow disano set at not what does that mean there's a there's a segment of Christianity that says I don't want anything to do with the power of God the word power there I talked about this last week there's two different words in the Greek New Testament for power one is exusia and one is dunamus this is dunamus what does dunamus mean Miracle power Supernatural power don't want anything to do with that and he says warns him here he says from such turn away meaning anybody that says to you guess what the gifts are not for today all of that that stuff that speaking in tongues is gibberish it's demonic God doesn't heal anymore prophecy doesn't happen anymore actually the Lord's word the scripture says turn away from that I was reading an article this morning I was actually looking for it I can't find it now I was reading an article this morning of how Millennials and and how how many people I think it says the southern Baptist Church alone has lost a million people this year out the door that the number of people leaving Christianity particularly in America is growing at an alarming rate and they're leaving primarily Lutheran Churches Episcopalian churches Presbyterian churches and now the Baptists are having a massive Exodus and of course this article was trying to figure out why and of course they had some they threw out some you know things well some people think it's this and some people think it's that and really they said in our research we found it's a lot more complicated than that but I can tell you this I'm going to tell you what I believe I believe one of the greatest reasons so many people are leaving the church is because they have not found the power and presence of God in a real way in their lives they've come in with serious problems and did not find the power of God to either deliver them or help them or encourage them or heal them and I'm not talking about just physically but maybe heal their heart heal their wounds deliver them from the Demonic torment that they're in why would you keep going somewhere if you came into a place and you had serious problems and granted that serious problems don't get healed overnight but let's just say you come
into a church and you know look I I know I need help and you found none would you stay no I read the New Testament I read what Jesus did I read what the apostles did I read what the people they trained and ordained did and I don't see much of that but why because we've had seminaries teach against it we've had a generation of pastors come up who were taught no no God doesn't do that anymore every faith healer is a charlatan anybody that speaks in tongues is of the devil oh those Pentecostals are all snake handlers all right anybody heard this stuff besides me over the years but let me tell you something when you get a diagnosis that you're stag for terminal cancer do you want to die it's amazing it's amazing how these some of these people in these denominations all of a sudden when they come down with stage four cancer of some kind and the doctor tells them you're going to die all of a sudden they want people to pray for them wait a minute I didn't think you believed in that even the Baptist Church oh get let's get the prayer chain for so and so who's got what are you praying for you're praying for wait a minute Southern Baptist Church is getting everybody to pray for Joe who has cancer for he healing but if a Pentecostal like me talks about it oh God doesn't do that anymore bunch of Hypocrites either you believe it or you don't you know what I'm saying I'm not I'm not listen I'm not picking on anybody you know what try trying to minister healing to people oh man you want to talk about a difficult thing to do it's easier to just ignore the issue you want to talk about Deliverance Ministry trying to cast demons out of people you want to talk about wearing yourself out I've nearly killed myself several in several seasons of wearing myself down ministering to so many people casting demons out of them over the years there was one period believe it or not I know no one will believe it in here but that I'm you know at the time I
was still 61 I've shrunk a little bit now but I got down to 150 lbs because I was casting I was doing you know three six sometimes 10hour deliverances sometimes two or three times a week I would go to Maxwell federal prison in Montgomery Alabama preach for an hour then start praying for people and sit there and cast demons out of the Cuban drug smugglers that got saved out of santoria and cast demons out of them for hours until I left that place and my clothes soaking wet with sweat like I jumped in a swimming pool I got down to 150 lbs and I was starting to have some issues and the Lord was like you got to take some time to rest son so I had to stop for a season that's how serious it got I had to stop protein deficiency the whole nine yards because fasting so much praying for people so much but I'm just telling you there's there's such a desperate need for people for healing emotional spiritual and physical healing there's such a need of Deliverance I mean I'm just trying to go through right now I I I can't even get done what I'm trying to get done to to to deal with breaking the curse of Freemasonry that one's coming I'm going to have a PowerPoint this long you know a mile long on just about breaking from from the first degree to the 33rd degree a lot of people don't even believe the the the impact generational curses are having on their lives right now generational curses of Freemasonry or or witchcraft or occultism in their family and it's passed down to the third and fourth generation oh I don't believe that well I've seen too much of it I can prove it well we're going to get into that in the next few few weeks but what did he say here he said they will have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof he said that's a he said that creates perilous times a a a church a church in doesn't pray for the sick cast out demons or desire the gifts of the Spirit I'm going to be very honest with you they're in Disobedience to God they're in rebellion and unbelief oh but the gospel is the most important well let me tell you something the gospel the word gospel means good news and let me tell you people that come into the church and need salvation and they need their sins washed away and they need to be set free from sin yes salvation is the most important thing but after salvation there's still a lot of people there's a lot of Christians that are born again that love Jesus but
they're still bound they're still tormented they still have the grave clothes wrapped around them they're still prisoners in so many areas to demonic forces and it's no easy job to do what needs to be done in fasting and prayer and sitting down with those people and counseling them and and digging into their past and finding out where did all this begin it's no it's no easy job well let's keep reading he says had there will be having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof from such turn away for of this sort are they which creep into houses and Lead captive silly women Laden with sins LED away with divers lust ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth and boy does that not Define our time I don't think there's ever been a time that the church or what is called the church and I'm talking about all these different tribes out here I don't think there's ever been a time there's been more sexual immorality in the church where thanks to television and movies movies and internet pornography and everything else it's everywhere and he says ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth now listen to this verse 8 now as janz and jambres withstood Moses so do these also resist the truth men of corrupt Minds reprobate concerning the faith but they shall proceed no further for their Folly their foolishness shall be manifest or revealed to all as theirs also was and then Paul says but thou has fully known my Doctrine what I teach from the scriptures my manner of Life How I Live my purpose my faith longsuffering charity patience persecutions and afflictions which came to me at Antioch and ionium and listra and what persecutions I endured but out of them all the Lord delivered me yay and all that will live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution but evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse deceiving and being deceived and then Paul exhorts Timothy by the Holy Spirit moving through him and says but continue thou in the things which thou has learned has been assured of knowing and of whom thou has learned them than that from a child thou has known the holy scriptures which are able to make thee wise un salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for Doctrine for reprove for correction for instruction and righteousness that the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished unto all good works so he goes on to say here that these there'll be men who resist Moses like janz and jambres did now I'm getting to this because I I wanted you to see something here Janes and jambres
were the Egyptian magicians when when God sent Moses to Pharaoh he gave him two signs initially to show pharaoh to get his attention Supernatural signs because basically what what the Lord was admitting by by giving Moses these two signs was that Pharaoh is not going to listen just listen to your words you're going to have to have signs follow he's not just going to listen and and Moses made that statement Pharaoh's not going to listen to me the Lord said here's what you're going to do when you stand before Pharaoh you cast your rod down and it will turn into a serpent and he cast his rod down and it turned his in you said you take it up by the tail again turn back into a rock so a sign a supernatural sign I believe that sign has to do with dealing with the Demonic that's why it turned into a serpent God was showing he had through Moses Rod that Moses through the Lord had Authority and power against the Demonic satanic realm the serpent but the Egyptian magicians it says did the same thing they cast their rods down and they turned to the serpent now notice that hold on a second they did the exact same thing through demonic power yet we know the story Moses Rod devoured theirs but of course Pharaoh hardened its heart right but the point of this and the reason I'm bringing this can't you hear the Facebook post and comments if that happened today look at there that Moses man what's he doing turning a rod into a serpent he's just like those Egyptian magicians he's a pagan he's a deceiver he's a counterfeit can you hear it all who's mimicking who were the Pagan Egyptian magicians mimicking the power of God or was Moses Moses mimicking the Egyptian magicians was Moses really using demonic power you see how it can get twisted can is there such thing as demonic healing yes is there such thing as demonic tongues yes is there such things as demonic transes and visions and prophecies yes Satan has a counterfeit for every single gift of the Holy Spirit and God allows him to do it you say well why does God allow it because he wants his people to learn how to discern and distinguish between the two in fact Corinthians and somebody can
look it up for me it talks about heresies how God will permit heresies so those who are approved will be made manifest I me God actually allows there to be counterfeit he allows the devil a certain measure of power and authority because guess what the devil's here to test everybody including the Saints to see if we will stick to the word of God no matter what the devil pulls see I don't care how many counterfeits there are I am not going to back up from what the word of God teaches concerning the fact that Jesus Christ not only saves not only washes sin away but he heals the sick he cleanse the lepers he raises the dead he cast out demons he can heal all manner of sickness and disease and that now also he's chosen to do it through his children through his people through his church for all ages until he returns until we see him face to face I refuse to back away from that I know what the scriptures say about it I've already looked it up I've already read it why would I back away because there's Egyptian magicians I mean can you imagine Moses going you know what God I can't do the signs anymore the the rod thing the hand and the thing pulling it out lepos back in healed I can't do that anymore because I'm getting criticized by the YouTubers and they think I'm I'm operating in the power of the the same power of the Egyptian magicians are operating in so let's just step away from that that's you know what that's what most of your um Seeker sensitive mega churches have done let's step away from let's step away from the gifts of the Holy Spirit and Supernatural because you know it's just too controversial we don't want to run people off we want people to come and what we've created we've created a lot of big churches that have no power and let me say this you'll never have power holy ghost power gifts of the holy spirit if you don't teach on it preach on it emphasiz it desire it and go after it you'll never have it tell me people tell me I prayed one time really I know people prayed for years and finally got filled let's read this let's go to First Corinthians chapter 12 just obeying the Lord this
morning there's still haters out there the haters I need my water what happened to my water ah thank you sir never mind I got it Pablo to the rescue everybody with me let's go to 1 Corinthians 12 first remember did we we just read in 2 Timothy 3 all scriptures given by inspiration of God and is profitable for Doctrine for reprove for correction right all right all scripture everybody say with me all scripture that was pitiful all scripture there we go all right let's look at 1 Corinthians 12 now concerning spiritual gifts Brethren I would not have you ignorant that's pretty clear isn't it but I know most Christians don't know anything about it now concerning spiritual gifts Brethren I would not have you ignorant you know that you were Gentiles carried away unto these dumb Idols even as you were LED wherefore I give you to understand that no man speaking by the spirit of God calleth Jesus a cursed and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord but by the Holy Ghost now there are diversities of gifts but the Same Spirit there are differences of administrations but the same Lord there are diversities of operations but it is the same God which worketh all in all but the manifestation of the spirit is given to every man to profit with all for to one is given by the spirit the word of wisdom to another the word of knowledge by the Same Spirit to another Faith by The Same Spirit to another the gifts of healing by The Same Spirit to another the working of Miracles to another prophecy to another Discerning of spirits to another diverse kinds of tongues to another the interpretation of tongues but all these worketh in one and the self Same Spirit dividing to every man severly as he Wills now I'm not going to read all of this today I just want you to see first of all he says I don't want you to be ignorant about spiritual gifts yet would you say that pretty much the vast majority of the church is ignorant ignorant to spiritual gifts and a lot of them are ignorant because they're absolutely resistant to it they're not just I don't know they're I don't want to know that's what's what's so bad because the scriptures are opposite of that now let's let's let's jump over to chapter 14 and read this verse one 1 1 Corinthians 14:1 he instructs them follow after charity or Love and Desire everybody say this with me desire spiritual gifts
desire would you think that that's what you're encouraged to do in most churches no you're discouraged actually from even talking about the idea desire spiritual gifts in fact the word desire here means to covet or to lust after wow as we all know lust is a pretty strong I guess we could say feeling or emotion right it's a driving force and what the Lord is saying is guess what yes I want you to follow after love love one another care about one another that means you pray for one another that means you help one another he says I don't want you to set aside love he says follow after Love and Desire spiritual gifts covet spiritual gifts desire them hunger for them lust after them want them I mean that right there is telling you there's nothing wrong with wanting to be a Christian who is filled with the Holy Ghost who's anointed by the Holy Ghost and who flows in the gifts of the holy spirit there is nothing wrong with that I don't care how many seminaries and churches and pastors have said something's wrong with it the Bible doesn't say that the Bible says desire spiritual gifts don't be ignorant of spiritual gifts so it's something you should study to understand and want to understand I'm still hungry for more of the spiritual gifts see let let's let's let's read this let's keep reading this 1 Corinthians 14:1 follow after charity and desire spiritual gifts but rather that you may prophesy for he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not un men but unto God for no man understandeth him how be it in the spirit he speaketh Mysteries but he that prophesies speak un to men to edification and exhortation and comfort he that speaketh in an unknown tongue Ed ifth himself but he that prophesieth edifieth the church I would that you all spake with tongues but rather that you prophesied for greater is he that prophesieth and he that speaketh with tongues except he may interpret that the church may receive edifying now let me let me stop right here for a second see we have people out there saying Oh They'll they'll they'll use Acts chapter 2 and say well see in Acts chapter 2 when they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in other tongues they all spoke known languages is and it was only for the preaching of the Gospel as missionaries but the problem with that is we just read it a minute ago 1 Corinthians 12 says there are divers or different kinds of tongues and in Revelation I mean in 1 Corinthians 13 He says in verse one though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels so he's talking about there's two
different kinds there the tongues of men and of angels you can put that one up for them 1 Corinthians 13:1 do I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and obviously Paul's talking about the tongue unknown tongue when he uses he uses the term unknown here and he says listen to this he says for he verse two for he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men but unto God for no man understandeth how how be it in the spirit he speaketh Mysteries so Paul's talking about a tongue that you speak in that's between you and the Lord no man understand so it's not a known language it's some kind of heavenly language some kind of Angelic language it's a language just between you and God your understanding is in fruitful but the Bible says he that speaks in an unknown tongue is edifying strengthening building up himself is that a bad thing no to be edified spiritually to be strengthened spiritually praying in tongues in private prayer and private worship is a vital source of spiritual strength and a vital uh uh assistance in prayer and that's what he was talking about in Romans 8 when he said the spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings that cannot be uttered and when you look that up means an intelligible speech that sometimes we've got to let the Holy Spirit speak and work through us in prayer with those unknown tongues that no man knows but we got people out there calling themselves Christians saying oh this this charismatic Pentecostal unknown tongue this this gibberish they talk in it's not of God it's of the devil there's one particular blasphemer out there that's doing it but again he's being e either he's ignorant of the scriptures or he's purposefully being dishonest but because if you read 1 Corinthians 14 and 12 and 13 plainly says there are tongues of men and there are tongues of angels there's Acts chapter 2 there's tongues that Supernatural where all of a sudden you never learn to speak Chinese you can speak Chinese God can do that but the tongue where you edify yourself the tongue that's a mystery the tongue that helps you in prayer that gift of tongues is unknown no man understand see is this hard to find in the scriptures no it's not hard to find so how do the seminarians and the pastors out there who who who are against the gifts of the Spirit how do they ignore this it's either they are blind as can be they are truly blind guides Satan has completely blinded them and they cannot see it or
they see it and they refuse to tell their people the truth but that's just one gift I want to show you something else let's keep let's go down a little further in the chapter here in 1 Corinthians 12 because this is one of the things I want to get to you let's go down oh we'll read from verse 22 and again my whole message today is not about the gift of tongues or I would spend the whole time on this chapter here but he says here wherefore tongues are for a sign not to them that believe but to them that believe not but prophesying serveth not to them that believe not but for them which believe if therefore the whole church be come together into one place and all speak with tongues and there come in one that is unlearned or or unbelievers will they not say that you are mad but if all prophesy there come in one that believeth not or one unlearned and he is convinced of all and he is judged of all now look at verse 25 and thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest and so falling down on his face he will worship God and report that God is in you of a truth the secrets of his heart see the perfect illustration we have of this and I'm not going to turn away from this but John four the perfect illustration we have is Jesus at the well and the Samaritan woman comes to the well and Jesus starts talking to her and in that conversation she says nothing about her multiple relationships he's nothing but Jesus said to her go get your husband and she says I don't have a husband and the Lord said no you're right you've had five husband and the one you're with now is not your husband that's the secrets of your heart being made manifest right she said sir I perceive that thou art a prophet right let me tell you something we need a whole lot more of that but if you're shut off to the gifts of the Holy Spirit what gift of the Holy Spirit is that working in Jesus when he said that the gift was the word of knowledge that means he had knowledge of something there's no way he could have in the natural sense he didn't know this woman he didn't know her history all right and this is the way it'll happen a lot of times with us I've shared this story but I'll give you an example of this operating with me a woman visited our church one time this is when I pastored a church in Montgomery Alabama
never seen her before walked in as a vis her sat down in the back with her husband never seen her before right so she comes in she they they're visiting from Atlanta area I find out later so she's sitting back there and while I'm preaching in her mind she's saying to God she's praying God where are the men of God where are the prophets where are the gifts of the Spirit today she's she said she told me this later on she's asking this question so at the end of the service I give an altar call and just for at that time just for Christians that needed prayer that were going through discouragement or fear or whatever and and they wanted prayer so she came forward and this is what's so powerful because I'm going to share with you something that happened this week but when I started praying for her I laid hands on her had my eyes closed I laid hands started praying for her Jesus name Lord bless this woman touch her I know nothing I don't know her name I don't know she's from Atlanta but I'm praying for her and the spirit of God shows me I see a vision in my mind see her standing in a grocery store aisle being afraid to talk to people about Jesus and the Lord tells me tell her not to be afraid but to talk to people about Jesus and even in the grocery store right so I said I see you standing in a grocery store store aisle and people walking up to you and you're afraid to talk to them about Jesus and the Lord wants me to tell you don't be afraid be bold step out talk to them about the Lord share the gospel with them Tears start running down her face and then she says in front of everybody she said you're not going to believe this oh yeah well she said I just got a job this past week where I give samples out in the aisle of the grocery store she said and people been coming up to me and I've been feeling like I needed to talk to them about Jesus but I I was afraid of losing my job afraid to speak and she said and I was sitting in the back row of your church saying where are the gifts of the Spirit where are the men of God where are the prophets she just tears run down her face see what happened the secrets of her heart were revealed they weren't bad secrets they not always have to be bad right the secrets of her heart were revealed and she was edified she was encouraged to step out and share the gospel with people at work and I have no doubt she didn't never saw her again right I want to share that something that happened this week this what this is sometimes it's so simple because this week I received a
phone call from someone I know to be a very strong and very dedicated Christian very strong Christian for many years very dedicated to the Lord a man who believes in prayer who prays but going he he he's going through something and he's being attacked physically and it's a strange attack he's going through he doesn't understand it and he's kind of been fighting it pretty much by himself and it's and it's and the devil's managed to put some anxiety in him and some fear in him about whatever this physical problem is that he's having so out of the blue he calls me and says can I come see you can I come will you you know I I need I need somebody that I know prays I need an elder of the church to anoint me with and pray for me and say what's he doing he's following what the scriptures says is there any sick among you and call for the Elders of the church let them anoint them with all the prayer of faith will save the sick the Lord will raise him up right James chapter 5 so he comes and shares with me kind of what's going on and I question him about some things and ask if this is going on or that's going on you know no no no can't really pinpoint any specific problem but here's what's beautiful so we're sitting in my office so I get up from my desk and I walk around and sit beside him in a chair so I can lay hands on his shoulder and pray for him so I lay hands on his shoulder and I start praying for him and as I start praying for him in my mind the Lord gives me a quick Vision I believe a a word of knowledge and a word of wisdom for him and I said I see a lion with a person in its mouth I said I believe that's you and I said there's a scripture and it's in 2 Timothy 4 where Paul said the Lord delivered me out of of the mouth of the lion and I said the Lord wants me to tell you that he's going to deliver you out of the mouth of the lion but remember to be delivered from the mouth of the lion means you were in the lion's mouth for a season I said and being in the lion's mouth is not pleasant but the Lord wants me to tell you he will deliver you from the lion's mouth now let me tell you what happened here's a grown man that served Jesus for many many years that loves God tears started rolling out of his face you know why he needed a word from the Lord he needed a word for him from the Lord and he knew immediately the Holy Spirit touched him and immediately he said I mean he he he was having an episode here he you know to the point where he was he was really worried and really
afraid and immediately after we finished praying and I said he said I feel better already but see that's what I'm talking about why would we not as Christians desire that to be able to sit down with somebody and tell them things the secrets of their heart so they know it's not just you or me speaking to them they know God speaking through us to them I can't tell you how many times I've seen that happen over the years and guess what it's not witchcraft it's not divination it's not demonic Jesus said my sheep will hear my voice the Lord said he would send his holy spirit John 16 he said I will send my Holy Spirit to you and he will speak to you and he will show you things to come right do you desire that I desire to be a Christian who walks around and hears what the Lord what the holy spirit is saying to reveal the secrets of people's heart so that I can minister to them so they know it's not me it's not Dean o it's not Pastor Dean they know it's God Almighty the Lord Jesus Christ by his holy spirit speaking through me to them that's what's powerful that's why I love that song that new song we did this morning every word you speak Lord I mean I've walked up I remember walking up to this me and in fact my brother was with me one time we were in Eureka Springs Arkansas full of Satanist full of witches right this whole town was just covered by just controlled by this the Satanist and uh we went out witnessing on the street and so I I I sat down I walked to the they had a little Park in the in the downtown area I never forget this and this girl was sitting there there I don't know she might have been 19 20 years old I don't know and she's sitting there all by herself and the Lord said go talk to her right so I walk over I sit down on the bench start talking to her she won't say a word not a word now I've never seen this woman before and but she won't say a word she just looking straight ahead she's listening I can tell she's listening to me and I'm talking to her about Jesus and how Jesus saved me and changed my life and brought me out of drugs and
alcohol and partying and Chang my life she's listening and this this car goes by they got the windows down playing some music and I watch her eyes look at him and the moment the moment uh I saw her eyes it's like I saw everything she was thinking and I said to her I said oh I said you you are in the coven you're a witch you're a Satanist you're in the coven and you want out but you're terrified and you're terrified of these people and that was some of your friends I said not really your friends and Tears start rolling down her face and I told her the story I said you know I said Jesus is more powerful than the devil I said your friends your Satanist your witches I said they've cursed me too and they've tried to kill me and they've shot at me and they sent an assassin with a high powerered rifle to kill me and guess what I'm still here so I'm here to tell you Jesus is more powerful than Satan you can get free but you got to be serious you got to leave that witchcraft that sin the coven you got to confess your sins you got to make Jesus Lord of your life you're going to have to be real and serious you're going to need the demons cast out of you I said but you can get free te find that her face and she looked at me she said I'm terrified I said I know these people are serious I know they're for real I get I get phone calls how are you still alive like Jesus man that's how come me and Jesus we're like this man he's my Fortress my refuge my God my savior I can tell y'all stories like this that's the see that's the cool stuff you can do it see everybody thinks okay that's Pastor Dean only the pastors can do that guess what you know when I was doing that I was 19 years old 20 years old 21 years old I wasn't Pastor in a church I didn't even know God at that time I didn't even know I would ever be a pastor of a church had nothing to do with being a pastor had nothing to do with going to Bible school or seminary or anything like that I didn't even know the scriptures as well as I know them now but let me tell you I knew Jesus I prayed I fasted and I was out there talking to folks about Jesus on the street and God moved and revealed the secrets of her heart there was another Satanist while on the top there was another witch that actually came to me and she
got saved and she came out of it the coven and they told her I didn't know this but they told her that they were going to send a guy with a high-powered rifle to kill me an assassin one of the The Satanist in the coven with her that they were going to wait at a certain place in the road cuz we were in the mountains where it curved so Steep and there was such a drop off you had to slow down to go around this curve and they were going to set the guy in the woods right there in the curve as I drove into town and they were going to shoot me Point Blank Range and kill me but you know what Happ see I didn't know any of that was she knew it she didn't tell me because she they wouldn't even let her make a phone call back then there was no cell phones or Internet didn't get any emails back then right that's not it's hard for people even comprehend that now right but months after this thing actually happened I didn't know it had happened she knew about it so I'm talking to her and she's struggling and I said why are you I remember the Lord showed me she was terrified and I said why are you Fe ful she looked up at me I said you're so afraid you're thinking about going back to the coven because they've convinced you that Jesus can't keep you safe I said yet and I saw like a movie The Lord showed me I'm talking to her My Eyes Are Open but I'm seeing a movie I said I see I said you know about the guy they put in the woods at the curve on this highway in this place and I said and he was going to shoot me with a rifle probably about as far as meet to Kevin that's about as far away as I'd been I said they were going to shoot me and I said a bright light appeared in front of his eyes and knocked him to the ground the these were her words how could you know that how do you know that I said sweetie it's called the gifts of the holy spirit it's a word of knowledge and a vision tears running down her face I said you can't waver you can't let fear drive you back into their back into that that darkness and that evil you can't let fear rule your
life can tell you story after Story you know just a few years ago the Lord told me that Satan one of Satan's servants was going to send somebody to try to harm me and my family I gave my wife Specific Instructions on what to do because at that time I was working and I was not home during the day I said' if somebody comes to this house you do not open the door the Lord told me somebody's coming to do harm and listen the folks in Alabama yes I instructed her somebody comes to the door you pick up the pistol you never open the door they they break the door down shoot them right so no joke two weeks later guy comes to our door I'm at work comes knocking on the door middle of the day we lived at that time in a culdesac area and there was just no people around he's beaten on the door one her to open the door she's not I'm not open the door she's talking about he's selling magazines he didn't have any magazines in his hand tells I'm selling magazine he keeps on about open the door open the door and she said I'm not opening the door so finally he he he decides to he bolts and takes off down our yard and she takes a picture of him with phone through the window so she calls the police cuz she suspected something fishy about this guy sure enough the police picked him up a few blocks away and when the police asked him what he was doing he gave them a different story he went and he went he didn't tell them he was out selling magazines now I don't know what ever happened in that situation but the police got back to us and said well you you know he's gone or whatever but you see what I'm saying the days are coming that we're going to have to be listening hearing many times I hear from the Lord when I pray in the spirit pray in tongues for a while and and that begins to strengthen my spirit and it enables me to hear but I'm just going to list these listen to me and we're we're going to quit real quick I'm going to give you this the word of knowledge the gift of the word of knowledge is when God reveals something that you could not know in the natural realm you have no knowledge of it's a supernatural manifestation of something that's either happening right now or in the past it's knowledge it means something that you can know that's either happening now or happened in the past but you didn't know it but God revealed it to you okay A Word of Wisdom is a little different a word of wisdom is when God gives a word to you for someone about their future or
about a specific situation like the the the the person that I ministered to this week when I God gave me the vision of them being in the mouth of the lion and God say I will deliver you from the mouth of the lion that's more of a Word of Wisdom that's giving them wisdom and understanding of God's Will and understanding kind of what's going on in the situation so they know how to stand how to fight how to believe and it really encouraged them and helped them I said you may be in the mouth of the lion right now but God's going to get you out of it right so that's a Word of Wisdom the gift of Prophecy is a little different the gift of Prophecy will sometimes just encourage somebody because and you could say that that was a manifestation also of the gift of Prophecy because sometimes these things overlap one another but the gift of Prophecy can be encouraging it can also be um revealing or exposing a sin to deal with a problem but the gift of Prophecy primarily in the word itself means to foretell things before they happen for instance the gift of Prophecy the prophet agabus when when Paul came in and well basically says he picked up some of Paul's clothing and wrapped his hands up and he says the man's clothing that this is is going to be bound in Jerusalem that's a word of Prophecy right Paul was foretelling what would happened to I mean uh agabus was telling what would happen and sure enough Paul went to Jerusalem and guess what happened to him yeah he got bound and thrown in jail by the Pharisees right so we've covered what word of knowledge Word of Wisdom prophecy Discerning of spirits Discerning of spirits is when you either see because the word perceive I mean uh discern means to perceive or to see or to distinguish a spirit working behind the scenes okay Discerning of spirits this is when you distinguish in your spirit is it a demonic presence working or is it the Holy Spirit working and sometimes God gives a vision of these things right sometimes Discerning of spirits is a vision a lot of times though most of the time it's just God kind of overriding and empowering your your intuition to just just supernaturally to perceive what's going on uh or what spirit's working for instance um to to give you the idea of sing there was a friend of my wife's who was beautiful voice to sing and I've shared this before but she beautiful voice and I don't know what happened I don't know where the door was open I don't know if it was doubt or fear or there was something in her past but
anyway Satan began to attack her and and to the point she couldn't almost couldn't talk much less sing and I mean she's a great singer and so she came to one of our services we were having a service over in Georgia and she came and I remember you know Nancy told me about her problem with her voice but that's pretty much I didn't you I'm I preach a message on something else and so I give an altar call for prayer and she starts down the the aisle to come for prayer and in the spirit realm I mean I see her coming but I see a hand an ugly looking hand that's like purple with these long sharp nails like this long and I see this huge de demonic hand like this sunk into her throat I can see the hand from about here and I see it I can see it just like I see your Bible sitting there or that book I could see through it but I could see it and I remember she came and I said I told her I said this is what I saw that's the Discerning of spirit and I bound that spirit that had its clutches on her vocal cords and after that guess what she's been singing ever since she testified being healed and delivered and that was years ago right there's times I've seen Spirits I've seen evil spirits I've seen Angelic spirits but sometimes the Lord won't let you see them you just perceive you just feel it remember acts 16 I'll give you this quick one acts 16:16 the girl possessed with the spirit of divination but she was following Paul and Silas around say these men are Servants of the most high God which show us the way of Salvation what they were saying what she was saying was absolutely true but Paul said being grieved what he's talking about and his Spirit was just Disturbed something was wrong he perceived that there was an evil spirit working behind this woman and he finally cast the spirit the demon Spirit of divination out of her right that's Discerning of spirits that's something you need to pray for you need everybody well we need that more than anything especially now in this in this time in this age of deception do these quick the gift of healing self-explanatory right people with the gift of healing going to see more healings than your average Christian does it mean every Christian Mark 16 says Believers can lay hands on the sick and they shall recover every believer can pray for someone to be healed and people can get healed but he said the person that with the gift of healing the gift of healing armor going to see more of it more frequently they have the gift of the working the Miracles how many know the difference between healing and a miracle anybody know the difference between those two I shared it
before anybody what's going I'll go ahead and do it Miracles are instant right Miracles are instant healing process but remember you don't you usually you need healing when something's not healing something's lingering something's staying so healing can take time but a miracle instantaneous and usually there's a creative aspect to it like remember Jesus man had a withered arm stretch forth your arm his his messed up arm was made whole I know that one of my elders the guy that one of the brothers that ordained me when he was in his 20s had his stomach surgically removed surgically removed stomach goodbye six years later after he got into some Faith teaching yeah some Kenneth haen Word of Faith teaching he finally believed God for healing and miracles and God gave him a brand new stomach confirmed documented fact and he as he'll tell you he put on a little weight after that he'll he'll tell you he said yeah it works great they took the bad one out God gave me a new one and it works real good right that's a creative Miracle but but cannot the one who made the heavens and the Earth the Sun and the Moon and the stars who just spoke them into existence you think he can't fix a stomach or a leg or a withered hand or a blind eye or a deaf ear why why do we limit God oh yeah he's the Creator he made everything but he can't fix my problem see our greatest problem is unbelief that's our greatest problem say no I believe no you say it in your head do you really believe and like I said I'm going to say it again believing God can do something and believing he will do it for you is two completely different worlds oh I believe God can do anything but no there's no butts no butts no ifs right when you are persuaded fully persuaded about something in your heart that God will do for you it will happen I remember my wife started having uh became lactose intolerant just out of the blue and I mean we prayed about it but see again you can pray about something but sometimes until you really get Earnest in Earnest about it nothing
happening remember fervent prayer the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much so here's what happened months I don't know how long this went on she had to start you know anytime she was going to have any you know Dairy product she would have to take the lactose pill or whatever it is I don't know what it's called lactate or whatever and so you know her stupid husband me would just be like oh Lord please heal my wife and see see how I mean I was I don't know I mean I would say do I believe in healing yes but I wasn't really saying okay this is it I remember this went on so one evening my wife made her homemade and when I mean homemade I mean from scratch alfredo sauce right she makes it good doesn't she and and alfredo sauce is heavy cream butter and parmesan cheese that's real alfredo sauce all right and so she makes this chicken alfredo all the the the noodles the chicken this beautiful it's so good the stuff in the jar I can't eat anymore it's trash right after she made started making this stuff it's like don't bring that jar stuff if it comes in the house just throw it out the door cuz it's trash so she makes this big dinner um and she we sit down to eat she realizes she's out of the lactate pills now she's worked all day on this we've had a long day you know when you're tired you want to sit down you want to eat dinner and call it a day right and my poor wife she had a long hard day and just started crying well that that you know what that finally lit the fire under her pastor husband who believes in healing and I said all right that's it that is it this stops now in Jesus name I said this lactose intolerant problem leaves you now in Jesus name I laid hands on her and I got loud and I got forceful and I commanded that thing to go in Jesus name I prayed for her to be healed and I said it is done that's it It's Over Now The Blessing I have is I have a woman who was brought up in a Faith Church praise God from a child so she got taught Faith she didn't get taught a lot of other things but she got taught faith I mean she was healed instantly as a child from what what what was it the my nose and Li right real bad and and was instantly healed on the with church playground was it instantly healed so she had a church that praise God they believed in that and so I love that's what I love about my wife you want to talk about faith she has Faith she she
will it's last absolute last resort to go to the doctor when the last time you been to the doctor babe when she had Faith so that was eight over eight years ago and only to have faith right so my wife said okay it's done I believe it it's done I'm Healed guess what she did she ate the chicken alfredo and she's never had another problem since didn't have one that night never had another problem since see there was a difference between believing God can do it and saying okay God that's it I believe it now it's done I'm not we're not putting up with it anymore by your stripes we were healed it's all already been paid for so in Jesus name that's it it ends it stops now and every time you know what every time that we've had an issue like that especially with her when when when husband finally puts his foot down and says enough's enough that's it I've had it I've had it with the devil I've had it with sickness or whatever I've had it that's it it stops it stops in Jesus name it stops amen you and we still listen I still have a lot to learn about this and how many of you know the disciples one minute they were healing people and casting out demons and the next minute they couldn't do it why because they're human human and Jesus would tell them guess what guys I know you were healing people and casting demons out of people but you let yourself get a little lazy you're not praying and fasting so guess what your power is kind of drained out of you your Faith's kind of drained out of you you guys got to need to take some time pray and fast and get your faith built back up and it'll work again again that's New Testament not Pastor Dean right desire the spiritual gifts desire them don't shy away from them don't make excuses don't say they're not important no he says don't be ignorant of spiritual gift gifts and he said covet desire lust after pursue they help you in every regard they'll help your family they help your prayer life they will assist you in witnessing and revealing the secrets of people's hearts so they know that Supernatural power talking through you that God's talking through you and not just you talking that's what people need people need to know that God is truly in us and working through us we're not Gods oh don't anybody tried to misquote me there there's one guy out there that claims to be a Christian pilot flat earther now come to find out he's really
a Mormon he's for polygamy and says as as as Jesus became God we can become God oh red flag sorry new Testament husband of one wife well start telling me you can have multiple wives we got a problem Mr Mormon right no no no no no number two no we're not Gods we're not becoming Gods no we're humans trying to let the Lord work in and through us and nobody's perfect at it I don't care how long you do it man let's stand y'all learn something today hunger desire the gifts of the Holy Spirit [Music]
