worship you this morning. We give you praise, Lord. We run after you, Lord, we choose to run after you this morning to seek you, to seek you with all of our heart to ask and keep asking, to seek and keep seeking, to knock and keep knocking. Because, Lord, we know there's more and more and more that you can teach us, that you can reveal to us, Lord, more power, Lord, to help set people free. Lord, we thank you for that. We praise you that there's always more. There's always more of your glory, your presence, your power, your truth, that you want your people, Lord, digging into, seeking after, being filled with. We thank you, Lord, that we refuse to be the lukewarm church that is satisfied where they are. We thank you for that, and we praise you in Jesus' name. Amen. Hallelujah. Want to welcome everyone this morning? Our great church? Yes. The Lord said He will not leave you, that there will be victory here. Amen. As the phone goes off. Oh, hallelujah. There will be victory. Amen. You know why there's victory? Because God promised that if we seek Him and keep seeking Him, if we keep asking and asking, if we keep knocking, if we keep running after Him, if we keep digging into the Word, if we keep fasting and praying and studying His Word, and we implement what He tells us to do and what He's revealed in His Word, then we break through. We push the enemy back, we push back the demons and the darkness and the devil, and Jesus wins. And we have many battles. We don't win all of them, but in Jesus' name, we're going to win the majority of them, and we're going to win the war. Amen. Well, this week we're going to continue. I started last week talking about the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. I talked about the gift of tongues last week because it took a whole hour and a half to really deal with that, and I left out a bunch of stuff. Today, I've just entitled this demonstrations of Holy Ghost power. We're going to get into this because the power of God, there's much more in the New Testament demonstrations of the Holy Spirit power than just the gift of tongues or even the gift of prophecy, and so we're going to look at some of that this morning. But I'm going through this, and you know, somebody the other day told me I should ignore a certain individual that's been having fun attacking us now out there, and they said I should ignore him. And I said, No, I said,
Actually, his attacks and his betrayal has, you know, put forth a good teaching moment here. And so it's important because all of a sudden it seems like, you know, we had a problem a number of years ago in faith. If you would, would you bring me a polluted church book, please? We have a problem. We have two problems, and I'm going to share this in the body of Christ that's troubled me for many years. Okay, we have the real gifts and power of the Holy Spirit revealed in the Bible, and those are still for today. And there are still Christians, fivefold ministers, pastors that still believe and operate in the real gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. But we also have a lot of counterfeit. We also have a lot of seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. Now, the problem is, is that we have a lot of people on one side, and I would call them the extreme Pentecostals and Charismatics who've opened the door to all kinds of deceiving spirits, seducing spirits, Kundalini spirits. And I'm going to explain what that is and why. But we also have the other side that now they're afraid of anything supernatural, and they just deem everything that happens in Christianity, whether it be tongues or, you know, people falling in the floor, we're going to deal with that, or whatever manifestation might happen. They want to deem all of it Kundalini or the devil or serpent power or whatever. And both sides are wrong. All right. But what we have to do is determine this. Now, of course, everybody knows who I'm talking about. This individual out there, Mr. Nathan Roberts, and if you don't know him, don't waste your time. But I want to say that I wrote the polluted church book from Rome to Kansas City in 2012 when Mr. Roberts was still going to his Andy Stanley megachurch, okay, before he knew what Kundalini was. I have a chapter in this book entitled, in fact, let's see here. Yes, it's entitled, Astral Projection in the Kundalini Spirit. And this book I wrote in 2000. It started writing about 2010 and finished it end of 2011, and we published it in 2012. So what I want to say here is I have thoroughly researched this subject of the difference between the real gifts of the Holy Spirit and the counterfeit. And I have written extensively about it as a Pentecostal and Charismatic pastor, minister, five-fold minister, yes, in the office of apostle and prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher. I'm not ashamed of any of that. And I just want to say this. The last Christian YouTuber that mocked the gifts
of the Holy Spirit within this ministry and mocked the five-fold ministry here ended up falling back into his sins and addictions and in a divorce. So I'd be very careful what you attack. It's one thing to attack me, but once you start attacking the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the power of God, and you start attacking what God did, particularly when the Holy Spirit moves as he did at Skyfall at our conference, when you start attacking what the Holy Spirit does and you start attacking the Word and you start twisting things, then you are headed into big trouble. You better take that warning, young man, because it's coming to you. I've seen it over the years. And here's another thing. A guy that just stepped out of Andy Stanley's church, you know, the Baptist church, the Baptist megachurch, it's even more watered down than his father's first Baptist church in Atlanta when it comes to the gifts of the Holy Spirit. A guy that just stepped out of that church about four years ago versus a guy who's walked in the gifts of the Holy Spirit for 32 years, who's taught on it, who's been in the midst of it. There is no comparison here, okay? Why anybody gives this young rebel the time of day, I don't understand, but it's really the dividing line now, and a lot of things. There's a dividing line about the truth of creation. There's a dividing line about homosexuality and how the church is going to respond to that and transgenderism. There's been a dividing line for a long time about abortion. Well, there's been a dividing line of law for a long, long time about the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. And you have to choose what side you're going to be on, all right? But as anyone should, we should study the scriptures. So let's study this a little bit. We're going to move on through this. I'm going to try. It's going to take me a bit today using the old-fashioned mic today, so hopefully it'll sound better out there. But Luke 11, verses 9 through 15, we're going to read these first here. And remember that we're going to be addressing this kundalini spirit. The word kundalini simply means serpent power, right? And really this doorway, and let me just say this, this doorway to this kundalini spirit came in to the church from Buddhism and Hinduism because many in the church started practicing Buddhist and Hindu techniques. Meditation, the Buddhist Hindu meditation that couples using repetitive chants and phrases and visualization and yoga and these other things, many Christians are doing these things. And these things crept into the church. I've got a chapter in the polluted church talks about this going back to in, you know, 200, 250 A.D., all right? When there were Christians who were out in the desert who didn't have a good foundation and
there were Buddhist monks and missionaries that had come there and Buddhism and Christianity got mixed together right before the Roman Catholic Church was founded in 313 A.D. And many of these desert fathers who got out in caves and started using Buddhist techniques of meditation and visualization and chanting and all these things, these people ended up moving into the Roman Catholic Church. Now for some of you, you're going to find out that the Roman Catholic Church, remember Buddhism was around 1500 years before Roman Catholicism. Do you know that Buddhists are the ones that had the rosary beats? They started out with those, the Buddhists, so they could count their repetitious prayers. There's nowhere in the Bible that talks about having rosary beats. So you see where Roman Catholicism, this is just one example of how it incorporated Buddhism into it. That's why you have the repeated Hail Marys, the repeated our fathers, the repetition, the vain repetitious prayer that Jesus said in Matthew 6.9, we don't do. That's why I have a whole chapter in the polluted church called praying like pagans. I mean, once you start with the repetitive phrase over and over and over and over and over again, I don't care if it's a Christian word or phrase, you're doing the same techniques that the Buddhists and the Hindus do. Even the Muslim Sufis do the same thing. And the Kabbalists Jews, it's an occult practice that is across the board, this repetitive chanting like prayer or meditation and also coupling in visualization with this. This is what opens the doorway. And then of course, we know that Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits, he perfected this for the Catholics, the Roman Catholics in what he called Lecto Divina. It's all the same thing. So let me tell you what opens the doors to this. You start playing with yoga, you start getting into contemplative mysticism with the visualization, repetitive type prayer that Jesus said don't do, or you get connected with Roman Catholics or some of these churches that have opened the doors to these things. Yes, you can open yourself up to deceiving spirits and these Kundalini spirits, these demon spirits that will manifest and will give you experiences similar, not exactly like, but similar to what it means to walk in the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. And so I want to say right now, there's a lot of Christians that are deceived by this, okay, but that's because they won't listen to what the scriptures say and they want to keep playing with yoga or they've been deceived about meditation or visualization or chanting prayers or repetitive prayers. So everybody, you know, when I go through this book, I name names like Mike Bickel of IHOP,
alright, International House of Prayer, Rick Joyner, Morning Star Ministries, a lot of the Charismatic and Pentecostals that have gotten into this stuff, I name by name because I have studied what they teach and what they have written and I quote them and they're into this. Mike Bickel talks about saying, Jesus, you are beautiful for five hours over and over and over again until he had a spiritual experience. And this is what he's teaching all these young people at his big IHOP ministry out in Kansas City. And then it's no, it should be no surprise that recently IHOP has linked up big time with the Roman Catholic Church. Why is that same spirit there? Okay, so I want to say as a pastor, as a minister of the gospel, I have warned about this counterfeit for many, many years. So for someone to accuse me of operating in it, you better, you better have a basis for that because I don't chant, I don't use repetitive prayer or visualization, I don't, we don't have yoga class in church. You know what I'm saying? And I separated myself from these Pentecostals and Charismatics who were getting into this a long time ago. So if you want to go down that road, and I'm just going to remind that particular young man and whoever else wanted to join him, you don't bring an accusation against an elder lightly. You guys are in big trouble. That's all I'm going to take. You're in big, big trouble. Now let's go back to this. Let's go back to the true Christian who's earnestly and honestly seeking God for his Holy Spirit, for his power, and not deceived to go mess around with these goofy people who are into Eastern mysticism, even if it has Christian labels on it. But here's what Jesus, if you're just seeking after God, you're studying your Bible, and you're making sure you're not getting involved in any form of Eastern mysticism or contemplative mysticism, then here's your promise you have right here. This is the promise, so you don't have to be afraid. And this is Jesus, Luke 11 9 through 15. He says here, And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you. Seek, and you shall find, knock, and it shall be opened to you, for every one that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Now before I go any further, this ask, seek, and knock, these verbs are present tense Greek verbs, which means ongoing continuous action taking place in the present. So it really means if you ask and keep asking, if you seek and keep seeking, if you knock and keep knocking, you're going to receive. And the parable Jesus told right before this was one where he was talking about,
you know, being in bed, the father's in bed with the children, and somebody's knocking at the door, give us bread, but he wouldn't do it. But because the person kept on knocking, he finally got up out of bed in the middle of the night and went and gave him what he needed. Sometimes God delays because he wants us to seek and keep seeking, to ask and keep asking, to knock and keep knocking until we receive. So many, like I said last week, a lot of people are not baptizing the Holy Spirit with the evidence of tongues like it is in the Bible because they give up. Well, I asked and it didn't happen right now, so I'm done. All right, that's not what we do as Christians seeking more of the Holy Spirit power in our lives. You never quit. You never back down. You never say I'm rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing. You never say I'm satisfied. I'm going to tell you, I've experienced nearly every miracle in the New Testament and the power of God in my life for 32 years, and I'm just as hungry today for more than I was back then. All right, I mean, I don't understand wanting to settle for powerless Christianity. I don't get it. All right, but let's go on here. So Jesus goes on to say, verse 11, if a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? If you're seeking something good, do you think your father wants to give you something bad? A serpent? Isn't that interesting? Kundalini serpent? No. Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Now, I find this interesting that this goes right into the situation where Jesus was casting out a devil and it was dumb and it came to pass when the devil was gone out. The dumb spake and the people wondered, but some of them said he castes out devils through Beelzebub, the chief of the devils. Isn't it interesting that that follows this? People asking for the Holy Spirit, God promising, I'm not going to give you a serpent if you're asking and seeking me for for the Holy Spirit. And then he has the religious crowd accuse him of operating in a in satanic power when Jesus was clearly operating in the power of the Holy Spirit. You better be careful what you call a devil because the Lord's not playing games with you. Let's keep going here. I already covered this. We covered this in the book. There's just some reviews on there. I didn't even know I had four stars in four point five star. I know. I was like, wow, I guess most people
haven't figured out I wrote that book, I guess. All right. They'll go get bad reviews just because it's me. They won't read it. They'll just go do that because that's what they do. I got haters. I want to read these verses. I put this on Facebook the other day, but I just think it's important as we get down into this. First Corinthians 12. Now, concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. So the Holy Spirit through Paul and Paul is an apostle that you should not be ignorant of the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. How many of you would think most of the church is completely ignorant, which is why they fall for so many deceptions and errors, right? Because for the most part, they've even been discouraged from seeking after this. But then when you teach someone and you tell someone and really Paul's talking about the the gifts of the Holy Spirit and love and the proper order for these things through from 1 Corinthians 12 all the way through 1 Corinthians 14. He ends 1 Corinthians 14 with this. But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy and forbid not to speak with tongues. Let all things be done decently and in order. What he's saying here is not that he said, I don't want you ignorant. So Paul spent three chapters teaching on this, right, explaining this. And then he says, but if anyone wants to continue to be ignorant, let them be ignorant because this is not complicated. This is this is not an obscure doctrine or theology we have here about the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. It is clearly in the Bible from the gift of tongues and interpretation of tongues to the gift of prophecy, discerning of spirits, the gifts of healing and working of miracles, the gift of the word of knowledge and the word of wisdom. There are nine gifts of the Holy Spirit and many more manifestations of the Holy Spirit than that. And I'll share some of that with you because the Holy Spirit is not God's Spirit is not held back. He can do what he wants, how he wants. Remember splitting the Red Sea, Jesus walking on the water, multiplying food, raining bread from heaven. There's all kind of things that are not mentioned in the gifts of the Holy Spirit because it's covered with working of miracles. And we'll get into that. But I want to say this, Mr. Roberts and certain people now have this weird twisted obsession that somehow it's wrong to associate fire, the symbol of fire with the Holy Spirit. Well, if that's true, then we got to not associate the symbol of oil with the Holy Spirit anymore, the symbol of the dove or the symbol of water or the river of life or wind. All of these are symbols. They are spiritual symbols and even
manifestations that happened. A rushing mighty wind filled all the house where they were sitting, cloven tongues like is a fire. Jesus album are going to baptize you in the Holy Ghost and fire, right? But for some reason now, certain psychos out here that have gone crazy can't seem to understand that these are just the human terms or that God's given us to try to describe how he will manifest and work in our lives. And the Holy Spirit as a fire is a sanctifying force. Water is a satisfying life-giving force. Dove represents the peace that we need, right? I mean, it's not complicated. Oil was poured into wounds to heal them. Oil was to keep parasites away from you. I mean, we study that in our class. You know, the shepherd looks at the 23rd Psalm, a great book, and he talks about how the reason they would pour oil in the ears of the sheep and on the head to keep the gnats and the bugs from getting in the sheep's ears because they get in the sheep's ears and the sheep would get irritated and they wouldn't lay down and they wouldn't eat right and they wouldn't. And so there's a whole reason for it. But the Holy Spirit, he is the anointing oil. He is the water of life. He is the river of life. He is the fire of Almighty God. He's that fire, that same fire that came upon the burning bush but did not consume the bush. It's not literal fire. It's spiritual fire. Why this is a problem? I don't know because the Bible makes it clear. Look here. What does this say? First Thessalonians 5, 19 through 21 here. Quench, not the Spirit. Now if you look at this word quench here in the Greek it means to extinguish the fire of the Spirit. Don't extinguish the fire of the Spirit. Well let me tell you the quickest way to extinguish the fire apart from sin. That's speaking against it. That's doubting it and not believing in it. How do you as a Christian say there's no such thing as holy ghost fire in power when the Bible tells you don't quench the fire of the Spirit of God. You have become foolish, very foolish and you show your ignorance or stubbornness, I don't know, or just demonic deception when you ignore things like this. Quench, not the Spirit. But let's just stop on that for a second. I'm not bringing that up just because it means don't extinguish the fire of the Holy Spirit. But quench, not the Spirit. You shouldn't receive anything that discourages you from seeking, pursuing the gifts and power and infilling of the Holy Spirit. If anybody says anything that discourages you
or it sounds even the slightest, even subtly negative, that's the devil folks. That's the devil trying to get you to quench the fire of the Holy Spirit in your life and you should not allow it. And that's why I'm not allowing this to go unaddressed. Quench, not the Spirit. Despise, not prophesying. Prove all things and hold fast to that which is good. So he says don't quench the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. Don't despise prophesying but prove or test these things as we should. The fruit of them. Let's keep going. We got a lot of scripture to cover. Now I mentioned this a minute ago but I want to read this again. I've preached on this passage for years and years and years. But please let this sink down because the same young prideful arrogant individual made a statement, we're not known by our gifts but by our fruits. Let me just explain something to you. If you have the true gifts and power of the Holy Spirit they will bear fruit in your life. Let me give you an example. At Skyfall, yes I was praying for the fire of God to fall on people. And one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is the word of knowledge. Meaning God reveals something to you that you cannot know by natural means. So many of you know about this. I'm standing on the platform and the Holy Spirit gives me a word of knowledge. It's one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He revealed to me that there was someone and I did feel like they were standing on this side but I didn't know where. But I said you have been struggling with homosexuality your entire life. You didn't want it. You've never wanted it and the Lord's going to set you free from it. And I'm pointing over here all right. So that was all I knew. That's a gift and a manifestation of the Holy Spirit. That's a manifestation of power when God reveals to you something. You didn't plan on saying I didn't plan on saying that. I didn't plan on pointing over there to this side. I didn't. None of it was planned. Completely Holy Spirit led. So that's on Saturday night on Sunday evening when we're here after the Sunday morning service and we're going to baptism. A man stands up and confesses that he has struggled with homosexuality his entire life. That God spoke to him to confess his sin in front of his brothers and sisters. That he didn't want it and that Pastor Dean stood up on Saturday night and when he said that that was him and I was pointing straight at him when I said it. And that brought him to a place to publicly repent, confess it, and get delivered from it. And he sent me his testimony. He sent me how he was healed
in that meeting. That's fruit. You know what I'm saying? And I could share I could share testimony after testimony. I'm going to share some of them today. But see when the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit are working through you they touch people's lives and convinces them that God is really in you and with you and that you are speaking the truth. Isn't that what 1 Corinthians said? Right? If you prophesy, if you're if you're in those gifts of the Holy Spirit and someone comes in and the secrets of their heart is revealed they will fall down on their knees and admit God is in you of a truth. It is proof. It is a witness. I'm going to show you that too. God says he's going to give proof of his gospel, of his message, and of his power in your life. He is not I mean remember when Thomas said I'm not going to believe unless I put my hands in the nail prints and in his side and Jesus appeared in the room and said come and do it. The Lord loves it. Show me Lord. Reveal to me Lord. Do something in my life. He he loves that. He's not sitting back going no I'm going to make you just figure it out through men's logic and wisdom. Now Christianity real Christianity is a power. It's a powerful thing. It's a real thing. It's a supernatural thing. If you want Christianity without the supernatural element yeah I mean you can find any church on any corner in town just leave us alone. You want powerless Christianity but let's read this 2nd Timothy 3 this know also that in the last days perilous times shall come for men shall be lovers of their own selves covetous boasters proud blasphemers disobedient to parents unthankful and holy without natural affection truce breakers false accusers. I know a bunch of those people incontinent fierce despisers of those that are good traders heady high-minded lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God here it is having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof denying the power from such turn away meaning every Christian that is in a powerless dead church that denies rejects or speaks against or quenches the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit you ought to turn around and walk away from those people because they're the ones that have been taken over by a deceiving spirit a lying spirit a demon spirit that wants you to stay away from the Holy Ghost power and demonstrations of Holy Ghost power he says for of this sort are they which
creep in the houses and lead captive silly women laden with sins let away with divers lust yeah there's a whole lot of secret sin going on ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth i have watched people go to seminary theological seminary study the bible for six years eight years in a seminary and can't get this they still deny the power dunamis the miracle power of the Holy Spirit let's keep going just so you see it for yourself here is the word deny to disregard listen to this one right here to disregard his own interest and to prove him faults to himself isn't that something and this is what these people do when they give this is what it says to deny the power of the Holy Spirit of the power of God to deny and negate to not accept to reject to refuse something offered contradict to disavow the next one is the word power let's go to it here is the word dunamis force especially miraculous power a miracle itself of course it says power to perform miracles so when it's there's two words in the greek for power one is dunamis this one and one is exusia and that just means authority or the right to do something but this one is the miraculous actually the power the miraculous power the supernatural power and he said people would have a form of christianity a form of godliness but deny reject talk themselves out of the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit i could name a presbyterian church methodist church baptist church well we could go down the list nazarene church church of christ well sad then you got some that claim they believe it but they never operate in it what is it what are they dead let's keep going first Corinthians 2 4 through 5 if if if the supernatural power the dunamis power of the Holy Spirit is not important why did Paul say it's important why does he say that he wants the power of the spirit to be manifested so that your faith would not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of god dunamis dunamis right here let's look at first Corinthians 2 4 through 5 in my speech and my preaching was not with the enticing words of man's wisdom the word enticing here means persuasive you'll see persuasive words of man's wisdom but in the demonstration of the spirit and of power that your
faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of god does everybody see that or are we just going to keep reading over verses like this and ignoring them Paul said he was very important to him that there was a demonstration of the spirit the holy spirit and the power of god so that people's faith would not be just in his persuasive words and Paul understood because Paul was a very educated man he was a very eloquent man he was he could speak on anything at the drop of a hat any topic in the Bible and he said i'm not just trying to convince you with my ability to persuade you i want your faith to be not in the wisdom of men but in the power of god in the demonstration and he said my preaching had the demonstration the manifestation of it folks if you're preaching the gospel and nobody's getting healed nobody's getting delivered from demons there's no miracles there's no signs and wonders you are dead you're an empty shell well i preach the gospel and people get saved yeah that's because the gospel has power on it but do you have anything beyond that ask yourself and if not then get hungry get thirsty get to seeking get to asking get to knocking get to believing and it will happen because i was 20 years old praying for a person paralyzed in an acoma in intensive care and watch them snap out of it in a moment and get up wake up from the acoma wake up healed and go home that day so don't talk to me about your theology talk to me about your power talk to me about the people in that family that saw that miracle and got saved because they saw the power of god saved their 14 year old that fell out of the back of a pickup truck and cracked their skull open does your christianity have some of that this is what i'm talking about people are dying people are sick people are in trouble and they need christians with something more than just the enticing words of man's wisdom how about a demonstration a manifestation of the power of the holy ghost that's what's missing let's keep going here are the words just like i told you the enticing words persuasive look at that enticing if all i've got some words folks not good enough let's keep going

anyone according according something so strange as to cause it to be watched or observed on the day of pentecost you imagine them seeing 120 people speaking in tongues they thought they were drunk they were in awe and wonder they were amazed they're like what is this but god used that to hold them there a supernatural sign to hear peter preach the gospel and 3000 people got saved let's keep going he said but divers miracles what's divers mean here poeculos motley various in character many various things i mean i think of some of the weird things god did with taking paul's aprons from work like a carpentry apron from work with sweat and dirt and sawdust on it and go put that on somebody and then they get healed that's weird okay most of you go oh don't put that on me i know a story of a man that fasted for 40 days i said y'all don't want to hear this he fasted for 40 days because someone was in a mental institution completely demon possessed just but the world doesn't know what to do with them except put them in a mental institution and so this man fasted for 40 days and again i wouldn't advise anybody to do that because i put you near death this man fasted for 40 days praying over a bag of m&m's because he knew they would let him take the m&m's into the mental institution and he prayed that god would deliver his friend from the demon spirits and set him free from the mental institution but he couldn't go in there and talk to him about jesus he couldn't go in there and pray for him because they wouldn't let him but he took him a bag of m&m's that had been fasted over prayed over hands laid on him and the guy ate the m&m's and god completely delivered him he came back in his right mind and he left the mental institution you say what but if god can take a sweaty dirty apron from paul and heal somebody and drive out demons he could take a bag of m&m's and put the anointing and power of the holy spirit on it and set somebody free from mental institution listen i was one time i was praying there was a a guy that i knew and i wouldn't visit him in the mental institution the the it used to be grill hospital in mcgumry then this guy had was running around the city calling
himself jesus christ jumped off a bridge broke his back i mean this dude was completely out of bounds okay demon-possessed wigan they lock him up go pray for him or go visit him and not they wouldn't let me pray for him and talk to him because they think that makes him more crazy but i remember i started praying for him at home and i remember that another friend of mine was visiting this individual and he was having an episode he didn't know i was across the city i was in mcgumry but i was miles away praying for him binding the demons command them to come out of him and loose him so he could come in his right mind and he he stops his his episode and he goes dean's over there praying for me but you know what happened he came back to his right mind he left the mental institution went back to school had a normal life this is not a game people's lives are at stake here let's keep going hebrews 6 1 through 3 therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of christ let us go on to perfection and maturity not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward god of the doctrine of baptisms and of the laying on of hands and of the resurrection of the dead and of eternal judgment and this we will do if god permit now i bring this up because this is a list of what the apostle paul and i believe he wrote hebrews gives us of the foundational the basic principles of the doctrine of christ and he's saying if we could just get these down we might could move on to maturity if we could get these down and he lists them repentance most of the church does not have that one down yet well it just means to change your mind no much more than that repentance from faith most people have no idea what faith is faith always has actions it always has words behind it it always has something with it it's not just mental assent so what most of the church doesn't have faith down but then he says this of the doctrine of baptisms plural more than one not bad just baptized in water jesus there's three baptisms you know the bible says there's one lord one faith one baptism right phasians chapter four one lord one faith one baptism yet the one lord has three parts the faith i could talk about the different aspects of faith the gift of faith the measure of faith we're born with and so on but baptism water holy ghost and fire

god has more they get offended instead of humble oh no i'm Baptist i have all there is no you don't i know you think you do because you know you've got an aquarium and a gym and a pool in your church and a coffee shop with the with the daggone mermaid fish but i'm sorry that's not what you need you need more of the holy ghost have you received the holy ghost since you believe and they said and we have not so much as heard whether there be any holy ghost so they just didn't know they didn't know there was more he said unto what then were you baptized they sent it to john's baptism water repentance then said paul john verily baptized with the baptism of repentance saying unto the people that they should believe on him that should come after him that is on christ jesus when they heard this they were baptized in the name of the lord jesus maybe they already believed in jesus they already believed paul said if you receive the holy ghost spirit since you believe meaning he expected them to have been baptized in holy spirit a lot of people twist this right they twist this to say oh they weren't believers no but the water baptism that they had was only john's baptism but they had become believers in jesus born again believers and so they decided to be baptized again in water in the name of jesus because they wanted to do it the right way right the way not that the first way was wrong but that they just wanted to do it the right way and then notice what it says here and when they heard this they were baptized in the name of the lord jesus verse 6 and when paul had laid his hands upon them the holy ghost came on them and they spake with tongues and prophesied that was the beginning of the church at ephesus one of the mightiest churches of the first century god found 12 disciples who hadn't who were believers but weren't baptized in the holy spirit and the first thing paul asked him have you received the holy spirit since you believe and when he laid hands on them the holy spirit came on them and they spoke in tongues imagine that all 12 not 11 of them not 10 of them not five of them not two of them all of them but folks have a problem not everyone's going to speak in tongues you're right with that attitude you will not but once you have the attitude you know what this is for anybody this is for any believer i want this i'll do whatever's necessary god showed me if there's any sin in my life any obstacles in my life any unforgiveness in my life any doubt in my life whatever it takes god showed me and helped me get there that's humility but paul laid hands on people

it's a big mens meeting on a saturday night and i see basically the ceiling opens up and i see the lord holding a pitcher of like water like he's about to pour it out and the glory of god that came out of that once that that heaven opened and it was coming i could feel the glory of god in the light of god coming down in there i had to hold on i was holding on to the podium like this to keep from falling down because the glory the weightiness the heaviness of god's glory was so strong i could not hardly stand up and there's times that i have fallen down front ways back ways sideways and the glory of god be upon me and i'm weeping crying my eyes out he's telling me things showing me things or he has me interceding for people i have i have fallen in the floor sobbing and groaning and weeping over lost souls holy i mean fell out of my out of my off my couch into the floor i have fallen i've had uh ministers pray for me and i have hit the ground and the glory of god come on me so strong i know the difference between the glory of god and the demons trust me i know i have been in the glory of god so pastime i haven't experienced anything like that you can you get hungry and thirsty he's promised he will fill you well we shouldn't seek experiences really we just read what jesus said ask and keep asking knock and keep knocking and seeking keep seeking for what and he tells you the holy spirit i have enough no you don't you know what let me just go ahead and tell you if your shadow's not healing the sick there's probably a little more you can get a hold of just maybe a little bit he fell to the earth he heard a voice saying saw saw wine persecuted thou me he said who art thou lord and he said i am jesus who now persecutes is hard for thee to kick against the pricks and he trembling and astonished that means paul was shaking violently let me tell you if you have an encounter with the power and glory of god almighty your body will have a reaction i'm not talking about the breeze you can handle the breeze i'm talking about the glory

that the power of god hid them and they went backward and fell to the ground was this the holy spirit of the devil just answer my question holy spirit of the devil folks in here it's easy right it was jesus jesus say i am he power of god backwards on the ground and you want to talk about listen i've been in services have i seen people fake it yes we called them courtesy drops back in the day we're like something becomes something starts happening super supernatural listen whenever whenever god starts moving you can get one of three things you can get him you can get the flesh and you can get the devil and you can have them all in the same service because people act like fools and people get in the flesh and people want to be you know they want to be filled like they're in with the crowd if so if if so and so are getting hit with the power over here and they fall down well i want to fall down too no stop just see god he may not want you to fall down don't try you don't have to try trust me if you get hit by the glory hard enough you will go down i remember standing up there during when i went to the first service at brownsville revival i'm like i will not go down i will not steve hill i say and this is what i said steve hill was behind the the podium i was in the middle aisle there were people all in front of me and i said lord if this is you i didn't speak it out loud i said lord if this is you have steve hill come down off the altar the crowd part he comes straight to me prays for me steve hill walked straight down from the from the pulpit the crowd parted he walked straight to me he never put his hand on me he didn't get close enough i flew about 10 feet backwards nobody caught me and it was not a courtesy drop i flew backwards into the power of god and the glory of god and i hit the ground and let me tell you something when i got up from there the peace of god and the joy of god and the anointing of god was all over me when i went back to my church this was like on a saturday night i went back to the church i was pastoring in montgomery i didn't tell anybody what happened i gave an altar call and started praying for glory of god fell in our church people weeping crying repenting power of god and you can always tell if it's real by the fruit if they get up and and just say i just i just love jesus i just want more jesus i just i've got to deal with this sin in my life i've got to repent i've got to get on i've got to do what god's called me to do it's good fruit
let's look at another one one more at least one more of these this is not the last slide second chronicles 5 13 and it came to pass as the trumpeters and the singers whereas one to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the lord when they had lifted up their voice with the trumpets and symbols and instruments of music and praised the lord saying for he is good for his mercy endureth forever this is at the dedication of solomon dedicating the temple the lord had him build for him he says then the house was filled with the cloud this is the glory this is the manifest presence of god the house was filled with the cloud even the house of the lord so that the priest everybody read this with me could not stand they didn't oh let me kneel down show no they were trying to minister they were trying to do their work and could not and he tells you why they could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud for the glory of the lord had filled the house of god now listen sometimes you will see the cloud and sometimes god doesn't allow you to see the cloud but it does if you don't see it doesn't mean it's not there i have seen the cloud of god's glory in a service and i have not seen it but felt it but folks when you get hit by the real power your legs will not hold you and i talked about this years ago i think i did a message this is way back way way back the difference between the anointing the presence of god and the glory of god completely different different words and i defined it the best way i could i defined it the anointing god is kind of the atmosphere around him the glory of god is him it's his fullness his full essence just like remember when moses said you know let me see your face and the lord said no man see my face and live but i'm gonna hide you in this rock and then i'm gonna pass i'm gonna cause my glory to pass you're saying i'm gonna pass and you can see my back and so god walked by the glory of god walked by moses couldn't even look upon it what he did see when he came down from the mountain his face was glowing and freaked everybody out come to leave me folks were freaking out you want bible here's bible the glory of god appears to people fall on the ground yes they do it's elementary my dear watson let's move along here
daniel 10 let's read this and daniel alone i daniel alone saw the vision for the men that were with me saw not the vision but a great quaking fell upon them so that they fled to hide themselves i could preach right here for a few minutes one man see in the vision other ones start quaking shaking and run away boy isn't this something isn't this the church one man embraces what god is doing the others run from it but notice he says a great quaking the presence of god comes into this situation the glory of god and the man around him it says folks when you see the words great quaking this means these people their teeth were rattling out of their head their knees were knocking the power of god will rattle you let's keep reading this therefore he said i was left alone and saw this great vision there remain no more strength and no strength in me for my commonness was turned into in me into corruption i retain no strength yet heard i the voice of his words now listen this daniel saying i heard the voice of his words and then he says this and when i heard the voice of his words i was in a deep sleep then was i in a deep sleep on my face and my face toward the ground he was awake and when god spoke to him it wiped him out he put him unconscious pastoring that's gonna leanie no it's not are y'all see this or is this just me i i copied it i promised straight from king james version i promise he says behold a hand touched me and set me upon my knees upon the palms of my hands that'd be somebody you know somebody had a problem with that well why didn't he stand him up see he's on his hands and knees that can't be god whatever he said oh daniel man greatly beloved understands the word that i speak into thee and stand upright front of thee now am i sent and when he had spoken this word unto me i stood trembling let's go the next one oh this one they're gonna hate this one here peter fell into a trance another lady x10 9 through 16 on the morrow as they went on their journey they drew nigh into the city peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour and he became very hungry it would have eaten but while they made ready he fell into a trance and saw heaven open and a certain vessel descending upon him as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners and let down to the earth we're in all manner of four-footed beasts of the earth and wild beasts and
creeping things and files of the air and there came a voice to him rise peter killed and eat peter said not so lord for i have never eaten anything that is commoner and clean and the voice speaking to him again the second time what god hath cleansed call thou that call not thou common this was done thrice and the vessel was received up again into heaven we continue with the story here now while peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean behold the men which were from corneas had made inquiry for simon house and stood before the gate and called and asked whether simon which was surname peter were lodged there now look at this while peter thought of the vision the spirit said unto him behold three men seek thee arise therefore get thee down and go with them doubting nothing for i have sent them then peter went down to the men which were sent from uh sent unto him from corneas and said behold i am he whom you seek what is the cause wherefore you are come and they said corneas the centurion a just man one that fearth god and of good report among all the nation of the jews was worn from god by that holy angel to send for thee into his house and to hear words now let me just show you something here there's several things going on here but let's go to the next slide all right the word here for trance is ecstasy ecstasy oh that's a bad word but here's the definition of this word trance or ecstasy in greek a displacement of the mind bewilderment be amazed astonished trance the multiple lexicon usage of this word they define it as a throwing of the mind out of its normal state alienation of mind whether such as makes a lunatic lunatic or that of a man who by some sudden emotion is transported as it were out of himself though in this rap condition although he is awake his mind is drawn off from all surrounding objects and wholly fixed on things divine that he sees nothing but the forms and images lying within and things that he perceives with his bodily eyes and ears reality shown to him by god so this is a state where you're awake but it's like you're asleep was this the holy spirit or satan exactly but now we say well don't they do that doesn't that happen with the new agers and the mediums and the trance channelers in the occult yes but they go into a trance by demonic power this was by holy ghost power so because they they do it we should throw this out too is that what we should do can god do
this with a believer yes of course he can now here's a question for you there were plenty of scriptures that god could have given peter instead of this trance and vision let's let's look about going to the gentiles look at look at this list of scriptures let's go i said why didn't god just give peter the scriptures why didn't why didn't why didn't he pull out his scroll and roll it out and read up verses like this he says in that day there shall be a root of jesse and shall stand for an insight of the people the gentiles shall seek isaiah 42 one behold my servant whom i hold mine elect in whom my soul delighted i've put my spirit upon him he shall bring forth judgment to the gentiles isaiah 42 i the lord have called the in righteousness will hold on hand will keep the and give the covenant of the people and the light for the gentiles how many goes on the gentile shall come so my my my point here is is that god could have just given peter the scriptures and said go to corneas's household why a trance why a vision because christianity is supernatural y'all we judge things by the word see peter could have judged his trance and vision and direction to go to corneas's house by what was written we have these scriptures he knew yes jews were told you don't have anything to do with the gentile right but here you have these scriptures saying no the messiah the gentiles are going to come to him his light's going to be among the gentiles you're going to minister you're going to be a light to the gentiles but god gave peter a trance put him in a trance gave him a vision then spoke to him by the the still small voice of the holy spirit go with these men all supernatural why for peter or for us do you believe the things written in this book are examples for us or not god did not have to do it that way that's my point yet he did because he's trying to get across to us this is all about the supernatural power and manifestation of the holy spirit don't ever resist that don't ever quench that don't ever push that aside if you're seeking after god if you're staying in his word if you're trying to live holy and obedient to him and you're wanting more of his spirit he's not going to give you a serpent a condilini spirit a scorpion he's not going to give you a demon he's going to give you what you so desire and that is more of his glory his presence his anointing what for you to just sit around
in some kind of bliss no it's for you to go help other people let me read something here let me talk about signs of what i gotta read this oh and by the way people want to talk about holy laughter of the devil let me tell you something that didn't come into america until about 1993 with a preacher by the name of rodney howard brown i know two people that know him really really well that man loves jesus you could disagree with some of his doctrine his theology that's fine but i know he loves jesus and the power of god was working through him let me tell you something long before that happened somewhere around 1989 1990 i was in a prayer meeting with about just a few people and we were praying and we got done we got right at the end and finished praying and the power of the holy spirit hit me and i started laughing and i laughed and then it got just got worse and i laughed and i laughed i was laughing until the tears were coming out of mine and they're sitting there going what are you laughing at i couldn't even hardly talk i fell out of my seat into the floor laughing laughing laughing laughing for about 45 minutes the joy of god was a point when i got up from there i felt refreshed strengthened filled with the holy spirit and you know what we're getting ready to do go out and witness on the street man i was ready and let me tell you what it's called folks it's called joy unspeakable and full of glory a merry heart doeth good like a medicine he said you will mourn now some of you are mourning but god's going to turn your morning into laughter that's it look up the words so yes it can be real holy ghost inspired laughter and joy there's nothing wrong with it is there is there a counterfeit yeah it's called marijuana yeah there's no coincidence they call alcohol spirits y'all right now i've been preaching a long time i gotta stop i know listen this this is dr michael brown now he and i would agree or disagree agree on a lot of things and he and i would disagree on something he wrote this book back during the probably right around the time yeah 1996 so it was when he first came to the brownsville revival and i was there i was there the day he he got there and they were unloading his cases of books i was there in the office i was at the brownsville revival oh and let me just say this i was at the brownsville revival sometimes weekly one of my good friends was the children's pastor there i counseled at the altar many nights i saw thousands of people weeping and repenting running down to
that altar to get saved every night i was there in 19 from 1996 until 2001 i went regularly okay so i was going to the brownsville revival when nathan roberts was still playing with gi joe's and hot wheels yet he's somehow now an expert don't listen to these people who don't know what they're talking about do you want an eyewitness or a four years out of andy stanley's church witness who was never there every move of god gets slandered false accusations and rumors get pushed about it and people years later believe those apart from believing eyewitnesses was it perfect no did they have some goofy people come did toward the end they allow some people in there they should have never allowed yes but was it a move of the holy ghost i can assure you it was an outpouring of the holy spirit where probably somewhere over half a million people got saved five million people visited that one church in five years the line was out the door two blocks down the road every night the the messages were repent of your sin make jesus lord of your life and get more of the holy spirit but here's something that dr brown wrote this is in the chapter 10 called jerkers jumpers and holy disorder he says this jerkers jumpers and holy disorder there are these are just a few of the accompaniment accompaniments of revival some of them good some bad some neutral there are heavenly manifestations hellish manifestations and human manifestations there is the presence of fresh fire false fire and fleshly fire there's that which is from above and that which is from below and that which is in between some bringing about conversion others bring about confusion they need to be sorted out this is not an endorsement of everything he's telling you there's good there's bad there's real there's counterfeit there's false but let's go back real quick and i'm gonna close on this i promise you let's go back before the pentecostal revival of 1906 so we're going to go back to the days of john westley and george whitfield one was armenian one was calvinist three members of the uh three the two of the three members of the holy club at
oxford right now these are leaders of the first great awakening there was uh jonathan edwards was one john westley george whitfield john westley's work has pretty much lasted because he started churches he was a true apostle in my in my opinion which is why churches um started but this is his when surprising outward manifestations began to occur in the meetings of john westley george whitfield who was the first among them to break with tradition and begin open-air preaching heard about these strange occurrences and was critical so his friend george whitfield who was an evangelist pure evangelist became critical of these outward manifestations that were he heard were happening in john westley's meeting this is before zoos a street long before 1700s here's what westley stated about this this is john westley founder of the methodist church he'd roll over in his grave if he knew what was going on with the methodist now but he said this he said i had an opportunity to talk with him of those outward signs which had so often accompanied the inward work of god i found his objections were chiefly founded on gross misrepresentations of matters of fact but the next day he had an opportunity of informing himself better for no sooner had he begun in the application of his sermon to invite all sinners to believe in christ then four persons sunk down close to him almost in the same moment one of them lay without either sense or motioned a second trembled exceedingly the third had strong convulsions all over his body and made no noise unless by groans the fourth equally convulsed called upon god with strong cries and tears from this time i trust that we shall suffer god to carry on his work in the way that pleases him when similar things began to occur in whitfield's meetings he was inclined to silence the people or have them removed but lady huntington whom whitfield greatly respected saw things otherwise this was the council that she gave the greatest preacher of that century quote you are making a mistake don't be wiser than god let them cry out it will do a great deal more good than your preaching are we trying to be wiser than god or can we trust him to do his work in his way the great caneridge revivals the great hebrides revival in every great outpouring of the spirit of god where souls were saved by the thousands some by the tens of thousands hundreds of thousands when it was an outpouring of the holy spirit of god these things happened there were outward manifestations of and demonstrations of holy ghost power caneridge hebrides the revival in 19
in the night in 1970 in indonesia amazing um and the fruit goes on i think about the fruit from azusa street just one man who got saved got filled with the holy spirit of the zuzah street by the name of john g lake went to africa sold everything he was a wealthy insurance salesman successful businessman left everything sold everything after going to azusa street went to africa and preached the gospel and prayed for the sick and hundreds of thousands were born again and hundreds of thousands were healed and miracles happened just one man i could tell story after story of people who went to azusa street filled with the holy spirit and the gift of tongues and the other gifts of the spirit and went on to shake nations with the power of god and we've got these little internet to keyboard warriors out here these little youtubers that some of them hadn't been really saved right even for a few years that think they're experts on this stuff i'm sorry you're not so i guess i ought to quit there was an old saying i can't remember the old preacher used to say it but you have as much of the holy spirit as you as you want see the reason we've had sub par christianity because we've been content to live with it and i think it was one of the old preachers that said i think it was a raven hill one of them said the reason we haven't had revivals because we've been content to live without it or we have theological excuses for it not having if you have a revival there will be power from heaven let's stay this morning that was long teaching i know but you know i pretty much get y'all once a week so let's see a tithe of 24 and okay pray father in heaven we love you today we thank you for your word we thank you for the truth and i'm praying for your people to be baptized in the holy spirit for the gift of tongues to begin in their lives for the gifts of healing and working in miracles for the gifts discerning of spirits word of knowledge word of wisdom interpretation of tongues the gift of faith or all the gifts of the holy spirit and that signs and wonders and amazing things would happen in their lives and in the people that they preach to and minister to and teach and try to disciple or whatever lord that your power will flow through your people to those people
