  1. god we just thank you lord for your presence and we just ask you lord god that you would just speak uh this morning speak to our hearts and change our lives in jesus name amen and amen hallelujah you may be seated praise god amen it's good to worship the lord amen you know all morning long the lord's kind of been i wouldn't say uh changing my message but adjusting it kind of been a work in progress um i want you to go ahead and turn to second samuel uh chapter six this morning um you know i couldn't help but uh when we sing that song set a fire and we start singing uh some of those uh you know of course that last song there was done by lydia stanley and lindell cooley from the brownsville revival and as many of you know i got to spend a lot of time at the brownsville revival up close and personal friend of mine was on staff at the church there and uh i went uh every week for a while i lived in montgomery and i'd travel down and stay for a few days and come back when i was pastoring the church there because for many years i just been hungry and thirsty for revival and studying revival history and and just praying and seeking god and there was a bunch of us that would get together at five o'clock every morning and pray for revival and and just believing god and of course when i heard about the brownsville revival breaking out and of course i knew about i knew who steve hill was before he ever went to brownsville and and did led that revival there i knew when i walked in the doors the presence of god hit me so strongly and the lord spoke to me the moment i walked in the front doors and he said i'm here in a different way and that's something i think we need to get a hold of is that you know we can have the presence of god but there are different levels and degrees that he will give and it's up to us if we're hungry and thirsty amen he promises that he'll feel the hungry and the thirsty right and so the problem's not with him right the problem is with us and you know and in this church we've talked about revival we've talked about praying for revival and what revival looks like and um you know revival is really i like what charles finney said it's nothing else than a new beginning of obedience to god that's the way he put it duncan campbell put it this way the leader of the hebrides revival he said it's when god steps down i've preached a message a couple of

  2. times in washington dc when i was pastoring there and hear about you know there's a difference between the glory of god and the presence of god actually there's two different words even for that pauline and cabald in the hebrew and one the the glory of god is actually when god himself steps down the pawneem or the anointing or what we call a lot of times the the presence is is the atmosphere around him how many of you know there's a difference between him and just the atmosphere around him right we know in the in the gospel of john chapter 20 after jesus rose from the dead and he appeared to the disciples it said he breathed on them and said receive the holy spirit right but then he told them a little while after that go to jerusalem and wait for the promise of the father and then it wasn't just jesus breath it was a rushing mighty wind that filled all the house where they were sitting and and the gifts of the holy spirit were released and people were saved so a revival is is to me when god himself doesn't just give you a breeze doesn't just give you a little bit of the atmosphere around him it's literally when he steps down and does something beyond the norm beyond our normal services beyond our normal you know gentle wind sometime of his presence it blows into a service when you worship and this is something it's hard to get the church world to grasp a hold of that revival is not scheduling you know three meetings uh you know next month and we're gonna we're gonna have a revival right uh revival is is really spontaneous it's god just stepping down and doing something powerful now having said all that i don't know what it is but in my spirit this morning i feel that we've been going through as a church and me personally as a minister and a lot of you i know have been going through some difficult times some trials some struggles some of it has just been internal it's been emotional it's been um you you've had them with with church you've had them with people around you you you're just going through different things and but i do feel and i don't know this may be for all of us it may just be for some of us but i do feel in my spirit this morning that we've turned a corner and that we've walked through and this church has walked through a tough time and nancy and i the last few months have been walking through a really tough time and but i feel like you know you put your you put your head down you keep praying you keep believing god you know there's a scripture in proverbs 24 10 it says this that if you faint in the day of adversity your strength is small so all we're going to have days of adversity we have seasons of adversity and difficulty and trial and testing

  3. but when you make it through those if you'll persevere if you'll press through with you'll fight the devil fight your own flesh fight even if you have to fight and deal with the the people who come against you and deal with them properly and not get offended and not get bitter then what god's gonna do is you're going to break through into a different realm what happened with jesus when he was being tempted in the wilderness remember when he conquered that temptation when he conquered that attack of the devil that went on for 40 days it says when he came out of the wilderness he came out what in the spirit and in the power of god and so the good part about trials and testing is when you persevere and get through them on the other side is a new anointing of the holy spirit a new empowerment of the holy spirit a new infilling of the holy spirit and you're stronger you're stronger see some of the times i want to i want to tell you i believe that god doesn't answer our prayers for revival and for power and for signs and wonders and things because he knows that if he gave them to us at that time that we wanted them that they would literally destroy us because we're not strong enough to handle the demonic attacks and the attacks that are going to come from people if he does give us those things listen god blessing you and god working miracles through you or god god using you to to speak to many people and get many people's attention or get people saved is going to draw also the attention of the enemy and you have to be strong enough to withstand satan's attacks and so if you don't go through some trials and some tests you're not going to be strong enough to handle it but again when you pass through that trial that test that tights and listen some sometimes those things those seasons can last for years well we don't like to hear that do we no we don't like to hear about a trial that can last for years do we sometimes they're months sometimes they're weeks and they're different i mean we're going through one right now see last night i had an opportunity to put my enemies in jail [Music] but even though they're lying about me slandering me and basically suing me and i could have put them in jail last night i showed mercy freaked them out freaked them out but because i responded and i'm going to tell you what personally because i responded correctly i feel something broke off it's even confused them i don't even think they know how to handle it in their head i mean the sheriff even pointed at him and said and he's got a year to change his mind about this i was like oh wow but you know what if we respond correctly and here's the

  4. good news let me just say this too and i just i've said it twice if we respond correctly but hey guess what even if we don't sometimes did peter respond correctly when he was tempted and tested when jesus went to the cross and he denied jesus three times and he didn't respond correctly but he repented and god still used him on the day of pentecost didn't he didn't lead 3 000 people to jesus so even if you blow it if you repent amen that's the good news now i want to show you this right here this is just something is while we're in worship because last week i talked about i was talking about leadership in the sense of touch not mine anointed and do my profits no harm so we went through that and this this is partly i almost like i didn't plan it but it's kind of a second part to that because you know we got a lot of leaders in the church world right now that aren't really real leaders okay they hold positions they have pieces of paper that say they are pastors or whatever and all that's fine and dandy but there's a there's a difference between god called and god ordained leadership and god anointed leadership and either self-appointed or even leaders who may be called by god but they're confused they they know god called them maybe to be a leader in the church but all of a sudden they thought they were a pastor and god never called them to be a pastor there's a lot of people not even where they're supposed to be in the kingdom of god let me say this if you may have the call of god on your life you better be you better know specifically because if you're called to be a pastor and you're trying to be an evangelist that's going to be a disaster right if you're called to be an elder and you're trying to be a pastor that's a disaster if you think you're a prophet just because you've prophesied or god's revealed something to you and automatically you think you're a prophet in a fivefold calling then you're going to be in a disaster okay so it's important that we seek god to know our place in the kingdom and it's also important how we respond to those god puts us under a leadership how we deal with that how we recognize it and it's really not up to the leaders how you respond to elite you get what i'm saying it's really not there they have no control over that it's all of our we we need to know all of us need to know where we where we are in the kingdom of god and be content you know this last week i've been reading in kings and chronicles and i was reading about usia you know and it says about king of zion he was a godly king he was a good man and it said when he became strong though his heart got lifted up in pride a little bit and he decided that he was going to go in the temple and and and

  5. offer the censor like the priest he decided well i'm i'm king and i'm i'm a good guy and god likes me so i'm going to go in here and i'm going to be a priest oh boy knew he stepped out of his god anointed role tried to take somebody else's anointed role and he went in the temple and 80 priests had to come in to basically rebuke him withstand him and god struck him with leprosy and he had that leprosy until he died he had to be completely quarantined off he was separated from everyone because of that he became unclean and i just think about those things it's like it's very very important you say well how's this that's old testament i love that's the first thing we get is it's old testament when you start talking about these things but here's what's interesting you can i can show it to you in both old testament new testament now i want to just i'm going to read this right here because this is a i mean a passage of scripture but this i want to show you the responsibility of god called and god ordained leaders and i'm talking to all of you some of you are called to be elder some of you are deacons some of you are going to be in the five-fold ministry but here's the thing the true mission of any god-called god-ordained leader in the kingdom of god is to himself or herself spend time in the presence of god in the word of god and to lead others into that you hear me to lead others into the truth to lead others into holiness to lead others into repentance to lead others but first you got to do it yourself right and this is what we're going to read here about david david wanted to bring the ark of the covenant which represented the presence of god and the glory of god back to israel because they didn't seek at the at the ark of the covenant they didn't have the temple the tabernacle they didn't seek the ark in the days of saul why because saul was one of these leaders that was god called and got anointed but got off he got off on wanting people to like him he got off on you know all these other things wanting to look like he was something he was not and he got in pride he got in disobedience and so he never really did what god wanted him to do and he ended up losing his anointing dying on the battlefield being rejected by god and god having to pick david well david who was a man after god's own heart the reason god picked him is because what david wanted one thing primarily the presence of god in his life and david knew that that took doing things god's way hungering and thirsting after god that's what david spent time out there with the sheep with his whatever he played his harp his musical instruments whatever he played worshiping god loving god

  6. and he had the presence of god in his life so that's why he could fight goliath and when right that's why god said i can take this man right here because his priorities are right and i can anoint him and i can make him a king i can make him a leader of my people because he'll lead them to me all leadership should lead us to god and listen there's a difference between having information about god and having revelation y'all hear what i'm saying there's a lot of preachers out there a lot of pastors a lot of ministers that are full of information and we live in the information age you can get all kinds of information on the internet and there's many many books that have been written and you can get all kinds of information but just because you're full of information does not mean you're full of revelation and and being led by the holy spirit and the anointing of the holy spirit and that's the real qualification of any spiritual leadership in the church no matter what level it's on do you have revelation meaning do you have intimacy with god do you hear from god does he give you revelation and understanding by the holy spirit in his word are you just full of information you're repeating information you've heard remember in in jeremiah 23 one of the things that that jeremiah said marked the false prophets versus true prophets he said the false prophets steal my words from their neighbors they're just repeating information they don't have the direct revelation the direct intimacy with god the hearing of god's voice and it being alive no a lot of the false prophets would hear what the true prophets were saying and would just repeat it so they would appear true oh boy just repeating information does not make you a leader amen and this is important because right now we got a bunch of preachers out here that all their sermons come from internet websites or sermon books you know what i'm saying they're stealing words they're stealing sermons from other people now i'm not saying we don't learn from other ministers we don't learn from other christians and we can't share something but if there's no direct revelation from god no clear message you know like for instance and i before we get into this i'll just share this i mean in 2008 when god told me to get back on the end time prophecy study and preaching and teaching that's something i had to hear from god that was a direction i had to hear from god in the holy spirit because i have

  7. obeyed that in the midst of being criticized and resisted about it it has now turned into thousands of people getting the truth and hearing the gospel that wouldn't have and i get emails upon emails upon emails from people who the end time prophecies and pointing out how these things are being fulfilled or getting their attention and people are getting saved and see the bottom line is obeying god on what he tells you to do but there's nowhere in the bible that it says dean i want you to preach on end time prophecy starting now i had to hear that from god and obey god you get what i'm saying that's the difference between revelation and just having information see there's a lot of preachers and you know you guys know they just following like rick warren or joel osteen or um you know bill hybels was the hot thing for a while it's just foolishness get with god and do what god called you do i that if i if i was a bunch around a bunch of pastors i tell them for the most part get rid of your books quit going to your church growth seminars quit your little fancy church growth techniques throw it all out the window start fasting start praying hear from god what he wants you to do and do that and it doesn't matter if you reach twelve or twelve hundred or twelve thousand it doesn't matter do what god chose you to do that makes you a man of god or a woman of god amen and this is what david did david decided to seek the presence of god once he became king and look at verse chapter second samuel six verse one so then again david gathered together all the chosen men of israel thirty thousand and david arose and went with all the people that were with him from baal of judah to bring up thence the ark of god whose name is called by the name of the lord jehovah lord of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims and they set the ark of god upon a new cart and brought it out of the house of abinadab that was in gibeah and ozza and ohio the sons of abinadab drove the new cart and they brought it out of the house of abinadab which was in gibya accompanying the ark of god ohio went before the ark and david and all the house of israel played before the lord on all manner of instruments made of fur wood even on harps and psalteries and timbrels and cornets and symbols and when they came to nakan's threshing floor azza put forth his hand to the ark of god and took hold of it for the oxen shook it and the anger of the lord was kindled against us and god smote him there for his error and there he died and david was displeased because the lord had made a breach upon and he called the name of the place perez azza unto this day

  8. and david was afraid of the lord that day and said how shall the ark of the lord come unto me so he would not remove the ark of the lord into the city of david but david carried it aside into the house of obed edom the get type and the ark of the lord continued in the house of obed edom to get tight three months and the lord blessed obed edom and all his household and it was told the king david saying the lord has blessed the house of obed edom and all that pertaineth unto him because the ark of god so david went and brought up the ark from the house of obed edom into the city of david with gladness and it was so and you can mark this and it was so that when they that bear the ark of the lord had gone six paces he sacrificed oxen and fatlings and david danced before the lord with all his might and david was girded with a linen ephod so david in all the house of israel brought up the ark of the lord was shouting with the sound of the trumpet and it says and as the ark of the lord came into the city of david michael saul's daughter looked through a window and saw king david leaping and dancing before the lord and she despised him in her heart and they brought the end the ark of the lord and set it in his place in the midst of the tabernacle that david had pitched and david offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the lord and as soon as david made an end of offering the bird offerings and the peace offerings he blessed the people in the name of the lord and then just skip down to verse 20 it says then david returned to bless his household and michael the daughter of saul came out to meet david and said how glorious was the king of israel today who uncovered himself today in the eyes of the handmaids and of the servants as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovers himself and david said unto michael it was before the lord which chose me before thy father before all his house to appoint me ruler over the people of the lord over israel therefore will i play before the lord and i will be more vile than thus and will be base in my own sight he said if the maidservants which you have spoken of them i shall be had in honor therefore michael the daughter of saul had no child under the day of her death now i know that's a lot of reading but there's a lot going on here all right now let's look at first david had the proper desire okay now that's point one and i've already made that point the proper desire to want the presence of god in your life in your church in your nation we should say okay what do we have to do to get the glory of god the presence of god the power of god what do we have to do to get him to step down and to be in our midst right so david had the right desire haven't even that's not even the desire of most of the churches or most of the pastors know what is the desire numbers big church big dollars big buildings so right there can god bless anything

  9. right then we got the group that's the first group that they don't do it they just that's not their desire their desire is on appearing to look successful to men right but then there's the second group who desires what they desire the presence of god like david is they want the glory of god the power of god but what did david do why did azza die why was there a mistake here because what they did was they they they had the right desire but they didn't do it according to the word of god right the word of god said that anybody that touched the ark the only people could touch the ark with the priest and they were supposed to carry it on the stage on their shoulders only the levites only the priest no one else wants to touch it okay so david had the right desire but he wasn't doing it the wrong way this is what i call most of the pentecostal and charismatic church right now in the world they say they want the presence of god they say they want the power of god they say they want the miracles of jesus they say that you know and they'll and you know david and all of them did it they had they had all the music and the dancing and they were they're a bunch of charismatics and that's fine i'm charismatic pentecostal i'm not ashamed of it right and they had the music and the dancing and the shouting but they weren't doing things according to the bible and it's a disaster it ends up in death and that's why a lot of the pentecostal movement and a lot of the charismatic movement now is so deceived and so messed up because they had a right desire for the presence of god and the miracles of god and for healing and for deliverance and all these different things they have the right desire but they've gone about it the wrong way and let me just tell you i i've written about this so this is no secret in in the polluted church book but i talk about how a lot of the charismatic church because they have neglected the word of god they've gotten over into contemplative prayer copying roman catholic mysticism and roman catholic priest and they're praying like buddhists and hindus with repetitions and visualizing things they're using buddhist and hindu techniques and so they it's it sounds terrible to speak out against them like i have with mike bickel with rick joyner with bob jones with todd bentley i don't mind naming their names because i think most of them not all of them but most of them had good intentions good desires they want the presence of god they want the power of god but they have gone about it not according to the bible they've gone about it going after these false religious techniques and they've opened the door to demons and now there's all this death and going on there's all this spiritual death and destruction going on so just because you have the right desire for miracles for healing for the gifts of the holy spirit if you start getting off the word of god you're going to head down a road of disaster and deception and many people are going to be harmed and that's that is what has happened in

  10. the pentecostal character i remember i just i we've been in the process of moving and i found a box of my tapes cassette tapes from 1995 preaching in 1995 and god gave me a word in 1995 i preached a message it was a straight word from god he said he told me he said the charismatic movement is over and you know what they should have moved on but most of them didn't move on they moved backwards and now they're now they're headed toward rome praising roman catholic monks and priests and uh copying saint francis of assisi listen it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that you shouldn't follow a man that prays to mary if he ain't got enough sense of biblical knowledge to know that you shouldn't pray to anyone but jesus but god almighty in jesus name then guess what it's time to walk away and now we got protestant ministers and some in this town who once had a great ministry who once had powerful influence who have now compromised and have headed down this road to rome and this contemplative mysticism and now they play saint francis of a and they're okay with these with roman catholics praying to mary i love roman catholics but idolatry is idolatry not being doing things according to the word of god is not doing according to the word of god i don't care what you call yourself baptist methodist catholic charismatic pentecost it doesn't matter you can say i want jesus but if you're not going to obey the scriptures and do it his way you're headed for disaster and you're going to lead other people down this road i have watched it for years i mean if anything the lakeland revival debacle with todd bentley ought to have have awakened the roman cat i mean the awakened not just the roman catholic but everybody i'll awaken the entire pentecostal charismatic church world that something was wrong something was a myth in our midst amen they say amen or old me right it's the truth or it's a lie one of the two and these are not things that i've hidden but here's the thing so what does david do i love this a man or a woman after god's own heart you know he wasn't happy when aza died he and and and some people think well he was mad at the lord but i think more than anything he was mad at himself [Music] as a leader you're responsible [Music] if people are getting sick and dying under your leadership or getting deceived or going off in the air here is responsible

  11. and so david was displeased and and we don't have a record of this but i believe david for those three months i believe david went and did some soul searching we know he was a man of prayer and we know it was such a dramatic thing and it was such i'm sure he prayed about it i'm sure he sought god about it and i'm sure either god spoke to him or god sent a prophet to him and said you didn't do it according to the word of god and it brought death but here's the good news here's the thing i believe david repented what did he do he went to the word of god he saw guess what we got to get the levites we got to get the priest to carry this thing to carry the ark if we do it god's way we can have god's blessing like obed edom's house right it's simple y'all if we do things god's way god blesses it amen and let me tell you folks do we ever need the anointing in the presence of god in this hour can i just say this you know you can't live the christian life without the anointing of god in the presence of god helping you without the anointing of the holy spirit destroying the yoke of the enemy if you don't have the anointing in the presence of god you will never make it as a christian you will fall away you will be deceived you will be lost so we've got to do it how do we get that how do we get it we do it god's way right we go back to the word see i'm a firm believer if any somebody everybody will tell you two things you gotta have in the christian life you gotta be full of the scriptures you gotta spend time studying and meditating and and learning and knowing the scriptures so you can do things god's way and then you gotta have a prayer life and a fasting life so that you can hear from god and be led by the holy spirit we've got a bunch of people out here and see there's a bunch of charismatics out here in pentecostals right now they basically say oh we can just be led by the spirit we don't care about the word i'm like you people are fools and yes i said fools don't care about the word that's like saying i'm going to get in a race car that'll go 220 miles an hour i'm going to punch it but i'm not going to put the steering wheel on yeah you're insane you're going to crash right you might survive you might not the word of god is the anchor it is the steering wheel it is the foundation and and get this there are peop there are charismatic pentecostals emerging church people out there that believe that you know you don't really need this at all you don't you know i don't know they'll say i don't know if i believe it all then how can you believe in it amen

  12. how can you trust one scripture not another i don't get that i mean i on the campus i've gone out on auburn university and preached and i've had homosexuals come up to defend their homosexuality and they try to use the scriptures at me to justify or to twist they twist the scriptures and in a way to try to justify that i shouldn't judge them or speak against their sin right and i'm sitting here going but the same bible that you're trying to use on me tells me clearly that homosexuality practicing homosexuality will damn you to eternal health right it's amazing but there's christians doing this y'all christians now the other part of this story is david got the ark back to jerusalem and there's a whole story behind that of how why david could pitch a tent and not have the tabernacle and in the in you know where it's supposed to be and he could have it on mount zion and not on mount moriah and you know he was a the bible david had a revelation from god that he was a priest after the order of melchizedek that's why david didn't get killed and didn't get punished for doing certain things that saul did right so david puts it on mount zion and i believe personally that there was no veil there for those 33 years that he was the king over israel that there was no veil because god was allowing them to experience new testament reality relationship before the new testament because remember y'all i know this is this will fight your brain for a second but the lamb was slain before the foundation of the world right so in god all things are done whether or not they are done oh boy and i'm not a calvinist so don't even think that god's works are finished from the foundation of the world question is whether we'll be in them or not right see but anyway so david gets the ark back and boy can i say this what does that represent for the new testament church the goal of a new testament church should be the full operation of the gifts of the holy spirit within the body the gift of the word of knowledge the word of wisdom tongues interpretation prophecy gifts of healing gifts of the working of miracles discerning of spirits the gift of faith there should be apostles prophets evangelists pastors and teachers there should be elders and deacons there should be the full manifestation of the holy spirit what we see in the book of acts we should see in the new testament church amen and if we're not there hey it's okay we're not always there we're not always

  13. perfect but that should be the direction we're moving i see i don't care i speak in tongues in this church sometimes we have tongues and interpretations of tongue sometimes we have the gift of prophecy sometimes we call people up we anoint people with oil and we pray over them and they get healed sometimes we cast demons out of yes even christians we cast demons out of them i have cast demons out of many christians right this is new testament reality right and guess what i don't care who it offends yes if god leads me to speak in tongues and we have somebody interpret the tongues if that offends somebody well it's time for you then to go somewhere else why because that's what we're supposed to want we're supposed to want the holy spirit we're supposed to want what he wants we're supposed to want what god wants i'm sorry tongues was god's idea interpretation of tongues in the church the gift of tongues that's god's idea right i want to hear from god i want all of you and you know what most of you a lot of you in this church you do operate in the gifts of the holy spirit what do paul tell timothy stir up the gifts within god wants us to flow and operate in those things right we hunger we want to hunger for now the final thing i want to say is we see in this story somebody close to david who should have agreed with him he should have believed in him who should have supported him but did not his own wife she saw him rejoicing in the presence of god freely worshiping god bringing back the presence of god the ark to jerusalem she should have rejoiced oh but we there's always going to be church folks like this that when you want what god wants and you start saying hey things aren't right and we need to do it right there's always folks that's got other ideas of how it should be right and it's real simple for me and i've had these battles listen i'm not i have not always been the senior pastor in the church i've been on staff i've been just in the congregation working i've been a youth minister a singles minister i've done my rounds i've been an associate minister i know right but when you start talking about doing things god's way last church i was in i got fired for that because they started supporting barack

  14. obama from the pulpit this is in 2008 started pushing a politician from the pulpit who was pro-homosexual agenda pro-abortion and i'm like how can you do that i said if they if let's i said let's just say they know obama supports abortion i said let's say a girl comes in here a little 16 year old girl and she's she's pregnant she's contemplating an abortion and she gets up and hears you supporting obama she's gonna just put two and two together that you must be okay with obama's position on abortion and she might go kill that baby i said then you're guilty oh i got fired but you know what i don't care yeah it was a good thing i didn't want to live in washington dc anyway i am a southern boy and i did not like living up there god bless y'all that live up there y'all can have it amen i love alabama people can mock it and make fun of it they want to but i love alabama all right and i've lived in texas and i've lived in arkansas and i've lived in california and oklahoma and and up in washington d.c and i love alabama amen but see here's the thing your attitude and let me just speak to i've spoken about a leader's responsibility see there's a lot of people in the church world right now because there's been so many bad leaders and there there's almost this uprising against and and really a false teaching that within the new testament there's no such thing as leadership that we're all just the same we're all priests of god and we're all that i'm sorry i just don't find that i mean yes are we all priests and kings to god yes but god calls some of us to be in leadership and that's just the way it is i mean i didn't make it up i didn't make up the rules right i mean in hebrews 13 when he says you know obey those that have the rule over you and the lord well that must mean somebody's got some authority that other people don't have right and then you know this past week i was reading in exodus 23 where god called moses out and he called a dab and a bahu and aaron out and then he called 70 elders out [Music] but they each had their own place right and then i realized even within the somebody say well looks like god has favorites maybe he does i don't know it's hitting business right i know one thing sometimes i wish i wasn't called to do this you understand you don't get to pick kind of if you're called to do something

  15. god says i called you you were ordained to do this from before you were even born this is what i want you to do you have a choice do it you don't do it but we all have our place in the kingdom of god but i think about the 12 even the 12th i was reading this this morning even out of the 12 when jesus went in to raise a little girl from the dead he only took peter and james and john when jesus went up on the mountain transfiguration he could have called all 12 up there with him you know nine had to stay back he called up peter james and john again what was he saying even within his 12 leaders he had three that were going to be their leaders and then we see later that basically they had one james right now has has church leadership and hierarchy been abused oh yeah but that doesn't mean we throw the baby out with the bath water now do we right and this is something that as a leader has their responsibilities to lead you toward the presence of god toward repentance toward holiness toward obeying the scriptures you have a responsibility you have a responsibility to pray you have a responsibility to be humble to to truly submit to god called leadership not false leadership not leadership that's deceived but i'm talking about we all have that responsibility and i've taught on this i did a series on spiritual authority and rebellion i didn't make it up right just because people got off in the shepherding movement in the 70s doesn't mean you throw out god's word right i mean this is what we do something goes wrong in the church world you know the word of faith movement got off base with prosperity the extreme prosperity thing but does that mean everything that the word of faith movement taught was not bible no i love brother hagin kenneth hagin there are people just hate him on on the i mean just hate him just call him a false teacher false prophet false everything and you know what most of them hadn't even read a book he wrote i read almost everything he wrote i went out to rhema bible training sin i went to you know and guess what even he wrote a book before he died called the midas touch rebuking where people took his teaching about god blessing the people of god even financially and where ministers took that and went off crazy with but i sit there and i go you know people think it's witchcraft if you say death and life are in the power of the tongue that's scripture y'all that's proverbs right are words important yes should we have faith should we believe

  16. things before we see it should we believe in healing that jesus still heals yes so what i'm saying is just because the word of faith movement got off in the area did we throw out everything that god taught us no god help us that's what i've said i'm going to say it and i'm going to close hopefully with this right here it's not i don't care if it's a if it's a pentecostal thing or a charismatic thing or a baptist thing or a methodist thing or a word of faith thing all i care about is it a bible thing amen is it according to the scriptures is it holy ghost is it what god wants now is it what he's saying is it what he's doing now that's what i want i don't care if it's we got to take a matter of fact all these names off of stuff right right all that mess it's either biblical sound biblical doctrine or it's not and i could go through every denomination every church and show you screwed up unbiblical false teaching and i mean not not not stuff that's even complicated just you know you don't pray with vain repetitions mike bickle let's just get that one scripture right you don't teach a generation of kids to be roman catholic buddhist do i think you are a bad guy no do i think you love jesus yes i do but you you've gotten away from the word of god right it's simple the bible says what we don't believers don't commit fornication don't do it don't let this you know ephesians 5 says don't let it be once named among you it's become a thing novel idea that we should be sexually pure and moral now we got we got churches that let their elders and deacons be in adultery and stay in adultery because they write big checks to the church oh boy all right i could spend some time on this attitudes but go go with me to matthew 10. we'll just end right here revival can come y'all revival can come if god's leaders will do things god's way and god's people

  17. will receive god's ways amen this is a verse i've quoted many times but it's true matthew 10 verse 40 and 41. he says he that receiveth you receiveth me and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me he that receiveth the prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward and he that receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward here here's the the hard thing for us if we want revival in the church leadership has to has to want has to want god's presence and want to do things god's ways and the people of god have to want that too and they have to respect the leadership god puts in a church if you don't have those two things you're going to have division you're going to have strife and god's not going to be able to bless that church see that was the beautiful thing about the brownsville revival and i got to see behind the scenes i got to meet with john kilpatrick during the revival i got to meet with linda cooley i got to meet with dr michael brown during the revival even when the revival was over i got to have lunch with dr brown one time and ask him why it ended i mean i got some really good solid instruction and information about what was going on but one of the things the reason i believe that that church was able to have a revival that saw five million people visit that church in five years and no telling i mean there's no way to to even fathom how many people got saved but i was there night after night after night even counseling at the altar watching thousands of people run to altars in tears repenting of their sins giving their lives to jesus getting saved for real truly being converted it was a real revival it was a real move of god was it perfect was all the people involved were they all perfect did everything right no but were they godly men and women involved in that thing and did god move there yes but here's the thing i believe that that revival happened because that that pastor pastor john kilpatrick their staff were all in agreement the church was hungry and had gotten together and prayed for two years and they were focused on wanting more than what they had they were they were tired of settling for the status quo and just a good service here the good service there they wanted god's glory and god's presence and they hungered and thirst after him and they they respected john kilpatrick as their pastor when steve hill came in they yielded to the ministry of the evangelist and god moved in a powerful way and you saw a pastor not be jealous with an evangelist and the evangelist not be jealous and the pastor didn't try to be an evangelist and the evangelist

  18. didn't try to be the pastor and and you know what i'm saying there was no uprising and trying to take over and the problem was guess what the revival ended when the assemblies of god denominations stepped in and put their hands on it right and tried to force dirt certain things and money got involved over the school and all these different little things and god just said okay y'all aren't in agreement anymore so it's time the cloud will lift and move away and listen no revival lasts forever five years was amazing for america [Music] but we need another one y'all we need uh we need a sovereign powerful move of god that brings conviction of sin that brings christians who are backslidden to repentance that that convicts and smites the unsaved down to the ground like saul of tarsus that's what we need to be agreeing for praying for hungry for believing for and what it takes we've got to get our own selves right but i believe we can have this and see i really believe too we're going to have an extra help coming and that extra help as i mean i believe some of the end times disasters that are about because that are about to strike the world and america are going to help break the hardness in a lot of people and the sin and a lot of them get a lot of people's attention and i actually i'm not ashamed to say this i believe the lord has spoken to me that it will once certain events happen in the united states you're going to see an influx of many people into the church and they're going to be looking not for seeker sensitive seeker friendly weak watered down purpose driven best life now church they're not see one of the things the lord told me too is be loud and long on the end time prophecy stuff make it clear repeat yourself again and again and again they may think you're crazy for years but when it hits they're going to say that's the guy who was telling us right these other ones over here are fluff and puff faith like that and that's what i say about y'all listen share share this stuff share the end time prophecy people may think you're crazy now but when these these certain events and there's going to be some big ones hit soon they're gonna go that's the guy that's the one that's the lady it was telling me

  19. i better go ask them some questions right let's pray thank you lord thank you heavenly father we just love you lord this morning we praise you this morning god i pray that you just deposit in all of us we've we've all been walking through kind of a difficult time a dry time a time of strife and contention a time of division a time of oppression and heaviness a time of demonic attacks misunderstandings lord i just pray in the name of jesus that lord as we come through these trials in time lord that you would let us turn the corner now let us turn the corner and let us see your glory and your power and your miracles and your gifts of the holy spirit and your presence in the church again lord i want to see people being converted just being broken down in tears and repenting of their sin and nobody even said a word to them just when they walked in the door i want to see people saved and delivered from their demons and healed in their bodies and their minds and their spirit jesus you came or to destroy the works of the devil lord you said though that it takes prayer and fasting to break that kind of power of the devil off of people so lord move your people move us just even if you can get this church lord this little small church fire great church to agree lord if we can seek you and be hungry and thirsty for you and really desire you you lord you promised you would come and visit and lord we long to see true revival and the true gospel go forth in the opalic and auburn area and and lord we know that you can like brownsville it was one little bad neighborhood in pensacola but it touched the whole world so lord nothing is too hard for you nothing is impossible to you forgive us for our sins our doubts our shortcomings y'all forgive us for our compromises with the world forgive us for allowing us our fire to be lost our passion to be lost some of us the churches churches and pastors tried to put out our fire lord i pray in the name of jesus that you rekindle that fire and all of those even those listening wherever you are out there listening would be in kentucky or west virginia or california and those listening in different places let god set you on fire
