Dangerous End-Time Error

About this sermon

In “Dangerous End-Time Error,” Pastor Dean Odle warns that two widely taught doctrines—unconditional “once saved, always saved” and a pre-tribulation rapture—can reinforce one another in ways he believes leave Christians spiritually unprepared. Beginning with 2 Timothy 4 and Genesis 3, Odle argues that Satan’s first deception was the promise that disobedience would carry no fatal consequence. He traces that warning through Revelation 3, 2 Corinthians 11, 2 Peter 2-3, and 1 Corinthians 6, insisting that genuine faith must continue in repentance, obedience, and endurance rather than resting in a profession that permits persistent sin.

SERMON OVERVIEW & STUDY GUIDE

Chronological teaching outline

Select a section heading to play the sermon from that moment.

01
Through 21:14

The service opens with an exhortation to expect God to heal, help, and save, followed by extended congregational worship, prayer, and ministry. Worship lyrics are not reproduced in the transcript resource.

02
Through 26:23

After a brief discussion of building maintenance, Odle reads Paul’s charge to Timothy. He frames the sermon as a response to a time when people prefer teachers who affirm their desires and turn them from truth to fables.

03
Through 34:45

From Genesis 3, Odle presents the serpent’s “Ye shall not surely die” as the foundational pattern behind doctrines that detach eternal security from obedience. He interprets death as separation from God and contrasts mere profession with following Christ in one’s whole life.

04
Through 39:34

Odle reads 2 Corinthians 11 and argues that Paul’s concern was that Christians already espoused to Christ could be deceived as Eve was. He applies the passage to teachings he believes promise liberty while normalizing compromise.

05
Through 52:14

Using 2 Peter 2-3, Odle warns that false teachers can exploit believers, entice those who had escaped error, and lead the steadfast away. He disputes unconditional eternal security and emphasizes the warnings addressed to Christians throughout Peter’s letter.

06
Through 59:59

Odle applies passages about deliberate sin, repentance, and exclusion from the kingdom to Christians. He argues that assurance must not be used to protect ongoing sexual immorality, idolatry, drunkenness, theft, or other practices Scripture condemns.

07
Through 1:07:59

Odle states his central warning: Christians taught that they cannot forfeit salvation and that they must be removed before the Antichrist may misidentify the mark of the beast if they remain present. He reads Revelation 14 as applying to “any man,” rejecting the claim that a Christian could receive the mark without eternal consequence.

08
Through 1:19:50

Odle connects the speaking image of Revelation 13 with artificial intelligence and autonomous weapon systems. He discusses data centers, surveillance, drones, robot armies, political leadership, and social-media influence. These technological, political, financial, and personal allegations are the speaker’s analysis and were not independently verified for this package.

09
Through 1:27:59

Following Matthew 24 verse by verse, Odle emphasizes its sequence: deception, war, persecution, apostasy, the abomination of desolation, great tribulation, cosmic signs, Christ’s visible coming, and the angelic gathering of the elect. He argues that the word “after” directly contradicts a pre-tribulation gathering.

10
Through 1:37:59

Odle aligns Jesus’ teaching with resurrection on the last day, Paul’s last trumpet, the sixth seal’s cosmic signs, the seventh trumpet, and the seventh bowl. In his framework, believers endure persecution and man-made tribulation but are gathered before the climactic outpouring of divine wrath.

11
Through 1:44:59

Drawing on testimony about persecuted Nigerian Christians, Odle rejects an expectation that American believers are promised escape from suffering. He urges spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, and financial preparation, and calls Christians to resist the Antichrist system rather than follow political parties or popular teachers blindly.

12
Through 1:49:09

Odle names John Bevere, Perry Stone, and Josh Howerton as teachers whose end-time or security doctrines he rejects. He defends public correction by recalling Paul’s naming of individuals, but ends by telling listeners not to trust him uncritically: they must read and study Scripture for themselves, abandon denominational error, repent, and endure.

13
Through 1:50:26

Odle prays for the named teachers and for listeners to repent, awaken, reject the mark, abandon false security, and lose the expectation of escaping all hardship. He closes with information about Fire & Grace School of Ministry.

I I feel like a lot of us don't realize that when we come together in worship that the Lord is the Lord is here and he is ready to heal, help, and save. The Lord is good and he's rich unto all of those who call upon his name. And when we come when we come together in his name, there he is. And he's ready to reach out and he's ready to bless us. He's ready to move today. Are we ready? When we come in the house of the Lord, we need to be ready for the move of the Lord. We need to come in expecting the Lord to move in our lives. Amen. Praise God. That's just what I'm feeling the Lord saying today. I feel like the Lord is saying, "Get ready. Get ready." He wants to bless. He wants to heal, help, and save us today. Amen. Amen. Cuz he is good and his mercy endures forever. Amen. Amen. Thank God. Amen. Praise the Lord. Bless you, Jesus. Let's give the Lord another hand clap up right. [applause] Amen.

the bathrooms and since we moved in here and they just won't fix it. I'm just going to tell you what's Paul's last name? Oh, I'm know I'm going to say it. It's the slum lord. Sander. Paul Sanders. Don't rent from him if you live in this area. He's a slum lord and he will not fix stuff. he's a cheapkate and he just won't do it. So having said that, I don't really care. [laughter] Truth is the truth. You know, you rent from somebody, they're supposed to fix the major problems that you have with a house or a building or whatever. And that's part of being a renter. I thank God that's coming to a close here pretty soon. But yes, praise God. Go ahead and praise God for that. [applause] Hallelujah. All right, let's get to the word since y'all know that if y'all have to run down to Burger King, like if you just can't hold it. But Rotorooer is on the way. dare rains a little bit and toilets won't flush. Something else in America shouldn't happen. I want you to turn with me in your Bibles real quick and we're going to second Timothy chapter 4. And I'm sorry I'm It just irritates me especially when they triple the rent and still won't fix things. Yeah, it's been years. It's been years. But anyway, [sighs] God help us. Just hold on if you got to go. Just hold on. Paul told Timothy this. And again, I think in America, especially American churches, we read over stuff and we think, well, that's he's talking to somebody else, but not us. But he said this to Timothy, and I believe it's by the Holy Spirit, and it's to us, especially in these last days. And he said, "I charge thee therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing in his kingdom, preach the word." Somebody say, "Preach the word." Preach the word, not your opinions, not what you learn in seminary, not traditions of men, not doctrines of men. Preach the word. Be instant in season and out of season. Reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lust shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. They shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned into fables. I don't think we've ever seen a time that there's been more fables being told. But I want to show you something before we go to Matthew. I want you to go to Genesis chapter 3. going all the way back to Genesis chapter 3. I want to show you how Satan works just so you remember. And you can put my title slide up this morning, too. I've entitled this dangerous end time error. If you don't recognize those people up there, that's John Bevere, Perry Stone, and this the new cat on the street, the new flavor of the month, Josh Howardon, which I haven't known too much about, but I had to look into him a little bit. There's going to be a reason I'm bringing them up, and I'm very disappointed in this guy, right here, because they just did a podcast together, John Bevere and Josh Howard, 1.1 million views as of now.

  4. 24:00

complete and total error. And it's it probably, you know, 20 years ago, I could probably let this slide with him. But where we are now in the scheme of things when it comes to end time Bible prophecy, I can't let it slide anymore. And I happened to notice I don't know. I got tagged on something. You know, people do these stupid things on social media. Well, who's your favorite pastor? Right. And somebody put me down. Well, thank you. Praise God for that. But I don't really care. But I started just looking down through because I'm like, let me see who's getting named the most. Just out of curiosity, this guy. I said, who is this guy? And what does he teach? What does he believe? Because he's obviously real popular. So, I had to start looking into it because their podcast kept popping up about the rapture. And I was like, "All right, well, all right. Let me look into this." Well, I started looking into it last night and this morning, and I'm get more disturbed by the moment. But you need to understand when it says sound doctrine, sound doctrine, the way you come across sound doctrine is you must compare scripture with scripture from Genesis to Revelation. If you take any topic, I don't care what it is, the rapture and the second coming of Jesus, you take any doctrine like that, eternal security, once saved, always saved or not, you take the truth of the word, you don't establish any doctrine off of one verse, one passage, one idea. You have to systematically go through the Bible and see what it says on that topic and put it all together. And if the pieces don't fit, then you have something wrong. But if it all fits together, then you have the topic in context. This is called hermeneutics. Okay, basic hermeneutics. Okay, this is not deep stuff here where you know we have to you know, you have to go get a rocket science degree to figure this out. You take it all and you get how it all works together and then you have the context. Well, see this is how Satan works. Now, let's go to Genesis 3 and we're going to I'm going to just establish kind of a way he does it because the first lie he ever told was that you can disobey God and still be okay with God. All right? And this is what he says. Now, now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field, which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, "Yay, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden." And the woman said unto the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the garden, of the trees of the garden, but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden. God has said, "Ye shall not touch it, neither shall ye you shall not eat it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die." And the serpent said unto the woman, "Ye shall not surely die." Now see, God told them if they eat it, they die. Now remember, and I've established this a few weeks ago, that death is never in the Bible means does it ever mean to cease to exist or to annihilate, to destroy, like you don't exist anymore. Death simply means separation from God who is life. That's what it means. That's why God had to make a place called hell because there had to be a place of total separation. If people chose sin and wickedness and rebellion, there had to be a place where there would be eternal separation. So, eternal death or eternal damnation is just eternal separation from God. Now, in that eternal separation, according to how you lived, there will be degrees of punishment there.
