  1. foreign good morning this is a class entitled The Key of David the Heart of Worship and we're going to start off with prayer because that's always a good good idea so let's pray Lord I just thank you for this day I thank you for our students and fire and gray School of ministry Lord I pray that you would just um just touch them and bless them and anoint them through this class Lord help them to draw closer to you through the the knowledge that they received today Lord I pray that your anointing would be on it and in Jesus name I just bind spirits that would try to hinder I bind spirits of antichrist that would try to hinder this lesson or hinder anyone from from hearing it and understanding it and implementing it in the name of Jesus Lord I just pray your blessing on our class today and thank you for it amen so we're going to start off in Revelation 3. the Church of Philadelphia in verse 7 we're going to read 7 through 13. and it starts off with and to the angel of the church in Philadelphia right these things saith he that is Holy he that is true he that hath the Key of David he that openeth and no man shutteth and shutteth and no man openeth I Know Thy Works behold I have set before thee an open door and no man can shut it for thou Hast little strength and hath kept my word and Hast not denied my name behold I will make them of the synagogue of Satan which say they are Jews and are not but do lie behold I will make them to come and worship before thy feet and to know that I have loved thee verse 10 because thou has kept the word of my patience I also will keep thee from the hour of Temptation and that word there keep thee from the hour means guard not and preserve it doesn't mean take you out of of like some people say with the pre-trib Rapture Theory uh false Doctrine which shall come upon all the world to try them that dwell upon the Earth verse 11 behold I come quickly hold that fast which thou Hast that no man take thy crown him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God and he shall go no more out and I will write upon him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God which is New Jerusalem which cometh down out of Heaven from my God and I will write upon him my new my new name he that hath and ear let him hear what the spirits say it saith unto the churches now if you've been in the church world for any period of time you've heard about the Key of David and there's a lot of different theories um or you know assumptions about what

  2. that is yet if you look it up you'll find you know people worship leaders will always always say it's worship or intimacy some people say it's actual keys that represent Authority gospel um I I think it's all of these things David had a special place with God it was described as a man after God's Own Heart and what was different about uh David well one of the things that was different is he operated as a prophet a king and a priest that was very different for back then who else operated as a prophet King and priest Jesus so that's pretty pretty significant in this class we're going to look at the priesthood though that part of of David we're going to look at the priesthood and the Tabernacle that he built that the Lord had him build so the priesthood the Levites were the descendants of Jacob's third son Levi and that word Levi that name meant joined to they were set apart for service in the sanctuary the service of the sanctuary and Deuteronomy 21 5 says and the priests the sons of Levi shall come near for them the Lord thy God hath chosen to minister and or wait on him so they were specifically chosen to wait on God or to minister to God that's that's a big important job so we're going to look at you know there were priests before David and the Tabernacle came along but it was a very different setup so I came across a book we're going to look at how the priesthood changed when David came along and built his Tabernacle the Tabernacle of David there's a really uh interesting book that I got a hold of it's called The Tabernacle of David and so we're just going to take I've I've copied a couple of a page out of that book and we're just going to go through and compare because there was a very there was a big difference in the way they did things before David came along with the relationship and the intimacy and after he instituted the Tabernacle of David in the way that they worship God so we're just going to go through starting with number one and instead of trying to regurgitate everything that Kevin Connor said I'm just going to read his little explanations of what these are these are this is the order of worship that was established when the Tabernacle of David came along and we're going to compare it to the Old Testament Church which was the Tabernacle of Moses and see how God changed things so number one is the ministry of singers and singing David appointed certain Levites to be singers in the Tabernacle of David the

  3. ministry of the singers in the song of the Lord was very prominent in his Tabernacle no singers ever sang in the Tabernacle of Moses so number two it was the ministry of the musicians with instruments King David also ordained musicians with a variety of instruments to play and sing before the Lord in his Tabernacle no musical instruments were ever played in the Tabernacle of Moses those are two very significant differences right from the get-go and you know if you know anything about King David he was he loved to minister in music I mean that was that just came out of his heart writing Psalms and playing before the Lord and even when he first began using you know music to soothe the the crazy King so number three Ministry of the Levites before the ark the Levites were appointed to minister before the Ark of the Covenant continually day by day as every man worked every man's work required this was indeed in great contrast to the order of the Tabernacle of Moses only the high priest on the day of a great the day of atonement ever dared to enter into the holiest of all and stand before the Ark of God then it was in silence and solemnness if any other had dared to presume into the most holy Place judgment would have fallen on them but here in David's Tabernacle stood a group of Levites of the Priestly tribe they stood in their courses day by day to minister before the Ark of God it will be remembered that the Tabernacle of David signifies the transference of the holiest of all from the Tabernacle of Moses to Mount Zion thus the Levites had access within the veil so to speak so they had closer access to the Lord just like we do when Jesus died and the veil was torn you know we have direct access and that was the beginning of that that was um a precursor to that so number four Ministry of recording King David set set Levites in his Tabernacle to record the word record means to set it down so that it can be remembered it involved the ministry Of The Scribe many of the Psalms especially those with concerned to Zion which concerned Zion must have been given by the inspiration of the holy spirit in connection with the Tabernacle of David the title of Psalm 80 as well as the whole Psalm is an example of this asaph prayed a prophetic prayer as he stood before the Ark of the Covenant and The Shepherd of Israel who dwelt between

  4. the cherubims the Psalms would be recorded by the levitical scribes and thus set down so that they could be remembered what a vast treasure would have been lost if the Psalms had not been recorded Moses was the only one who wrote inspired scripture in relation to the Tabernacle called by his name Psalm 90 and 91 have been attributed to Moses in the Tabernacle of David many Levites wrote Psalms as well as King David and I would say I guess our modern day Ministry of recording would be our media team here as I've said in in most a lot of messages that I've done is that we're all supposed to write down what the Lord says we're all supposed to if he gives you dreams you write it down if he gives you a word you write it down we're all supposed to care enough about what the Lord is speaking what he's saying to record it and that's what happened that's why we have the Psalms because there was a Ministry of recording and so we can be blessed by that number five is the ministry of thanking the lord David appointed the Levites to thank the Lord also many of the Psalms exhort God's people to thank the Lord for his Mercy giving thanks is an expression of gratefulness and appreciation to The Giver of all things unthankfulness is a sign of the last days and is that not the truth um we're definitely there those who were set in the Tabernacle of David were to give thanks continually for all things under the Tabernacle of Moses Israel could render a voluntary thank offering to the Lord but it wasn't the same and that's what we are supposed to do in our lives is to continually give thanks even when we don't feel even when we don't feel it number six Ministry of Praise was in the Tabernacle of David part of the order in David's Tabernacle was to praise the Lord for his goodness and mercy there were always Levites in their respective courses praising the Lord one just needs to check the concordance and count the number the numerous references to praise to realize the importance of this and unto the Lord it is scriptural to say praise it is scriptural to sing praise also the Psalms especially exhort the people of the Lord to sing praise there are over 70 references in 150 Psalms to sing praise there was no singing of Praise in the Tabernacle of Moses all with silent order but in the Tabernacle of David there was continual sounds of praise and I know this is a lot to read but I just want everybody to get the the understanding of what went on in the Tabernacle of David and how it's

  5. supposed to carry over to today so that's why we're just going to go through these number seven Ministry of Psalms on the day on the day of the dedication David delivered a Psalm to the singers and musicians the Tabernacle of David was characterized by writing and singing of Psalms the great the greater majority of the Psalms are linked with David's Tabernacle this is seen by the many references to Zion this is in contrast with the Tabernacle of Moses where only one or possibly two Psalms were written number eight Ministry of rejoicing and joy joy and rejoicing characterize the order of of Tabernacle of David also the Canaanite religions as well as most religions outside of Christianity had no real joy and that is supposed to be a sign of of being a follower of Christ we're supposed to have joy it's one of the fruits of the spirit but you walk into a lot of these churches and it's you know the Frozen chosen or just completely dead and somber and and they're just they're no fun to be around so the ministry of rejoicing in joy even the Tabernacle of Moses was characterized by a great solemnness not the joy of David's Tabernacle numerous scriptures exhort the believer to rejoice in the Lord number nine the ministry of clapping of hands one of the Psalms for the sons of Korah exhorts the people to clap hands one of the most natural of all human responses to Joy and appreciation is clapping of the hands from the baby in the Cradle to the youth to the adult clapping of hands is an expression of Happiness thanks and appreciation and joy how much more shall God's people clap unto the Lord as they did in the Bible there was no such expression of joy in the Tabernacle of Moses and that's true if you think about it just look at a baby it comes natural it's somewhere later in life that we lose that that Joy when I grew up I went to a I grew up from the time I was six on to adulthood I went to a charismatic well they called it a charismatic church I guess we would call it Pentecostal now I don't know they called it non-denominational which is a denomination but anyway there was there was the Clapping of hands you don't see that quite as much you know nowadays we've lost that um we've lost that Ministry number 10 the ministry of shouting now this is not the kooky shouting that goes on in some of these churches this is not the you know the manufactured uh spiritualness that goes on in some of these this is this the true worship

  6. Ministry so the ministry of shouting when the Ark of God was taken into David's Tabernacle there was much shouting unto the Lord a number of scriptures speak of shouting in Israel's history when Israel shouted on the seventh day on the March around Jericho God caused the walls to fall down flat there are times when a shout is just an empty noise but when God is in it and it is an act of worship unto the Lord then God works with the shout of his people the lord lord Jesus will return for his people at the second coming with a shout so obviously it's an acceptable form of expression and praise I this is something you know especially here we have a small church so it may seem a little bit odd but every it's something that comes up from your spirit every once in a while in worship because I'm not a shouter I'm not a real dancer or anything like that but every once in a while something will come up out of my spirit and I will just shout out in worship service or pray service and that's that's the way it's supposed to be it's supposed to not supposed to be manufactured it's supposed to come up from your spirit a number 11 is the ministry of dancing um I have to say in this one I've I have to to work on because I got jaded in a church that I was in because it was ridiculous it wasn't dancing for the Lord it was go up front and dance to show off or you know make a big big deal out of it if you want to dance and what you dance in your seat dance around where you are why do you need to go up front and make a big show out of it is the way I saw it so I'm I have to um come back from that jaded place because this is a sincere I mean David danced before the Lord so much that it was embarrassing for his wife so um Ministry of dancing there was the expression of dancing before the Lord at the dedication of the Tabernacle of David Michael despised David dancing before the Ark of the Lord there is a time to dance Ecclesiastes 3 4 says most of the Canaanite dancing was sensuous lustful and done amidst the orgies of idolatrous festivals the dancing of Israel was to be in Joy praise and as part of the worship unto the Lord it was particularly associated with Festival occasions Miriam and the women with her at the deliverance from Egypt after the crossing of the Red Sea they all danced so we'll move on to number 12. Ministry of lifting up hands the Levites in their courses in Zion also lifted up their hands as an act of worship to the Lord in David's Tabernacle lifting hands in scripture

  7. has several suggested meanings it is an act of surrender of a person taking a vow before the Lord of prayer and worship it is part of an Old and New Testament worship the psalmists say let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense and the lifting of my hands as the evening sacrifice only Aaron would lift up hands and blessing in the Tabernacle of Moses in the Tabernacle of David all could lift their hands to the Lord so it is today all believers as ministering priests May lift their hands in worship we are to lift up our hearts with our hands Lamentations 3 41 says and I think it's interesting you know I think it's by no accident that we're lifting up our hands because we lived in a dome enclosed system and that is we're lifting them up to the Lord you know so that's we're reaching out to him for to bless him directly so Ministry of worship although the word worship is being used in this discussion in its broadest sense in its strictest sense the word means to bow down to stoop very low and to prostrate oneself the Levites in David's Tabernacle were not only to sing praise play instruments Clap Hands lift hands to the Lord they were to worship there was a bowing before the Lord a prostration of themselves in deep adoration and devotion this aspect of worship is the highest expression before God of all expressions of worship in spirit and in truth all believers should experience times of deep prostration of the spirit before God in the holiest of all in this aspect of worship at Mount Sinai the people worshiped afar off in the Tabernacle of David worship was near to God much nearer is it in the New Testament times through the blood of Jesus and we don't see that a lot either in our church services then all of this can be applied to corporate worship when you're together with your family when you're together with your home church group or you're in a building with a church group um all of this should be applied to that and you know we sing I we we even hear we have songs where we sing you know I bow down or we bow down but you never see anybody actually doing that not very often so these are all things that we all need to to ponder to meditate on and to implement so number 14 is the ministry of seeking the Lord David exhorted the Levites to seek the face of the Lord in his Tabernacle this is also part of worship seeking God's face with our whole heart

  8. only those who seek him with their whole being will find him we we are to rejoice as we seek Him the Tabernacle of David was a place where priests and Levites sought the Lord and we're getting close to the end so number 15. the ministry of spiritual sacrifices David's Tabernacle was a place where spiritual sacrifices were offered to the Lord by priests and Levites as already noted animal sacrifices were offered at the dedication service but only spiritual sacrifices were offered after that day in the Tabernacle of David that was a major difference this was a great contrast so the continual animal sacrifices this was a great contrast to the continual animal sacrifices in the Tabernacle of Moses some of the spiritual sacrifices mentioned in in scripture are the sacrifices of joy and sacrifices of Thanksgiving and the sacrifices of praise These Are Spiritual sacrifices offered up by the royal priesthood in the spiritual house the church no more animal sacrifices are needed since the once for all sacrifice for of the body and blood of Jesus New Testament Believers as ministering priests unto the Lord offers his body his praise His substance as spiritual sacrifices to God through Christ and then number 16 the final one is the ministry of saying amen in Hebrew the word amen means sure it has translated amen so be it truth it involves faithfulness and Truth in Greek the same word means firm trustworthy so be it and as translated amen verily the saying of Amen from the heart is an expression of support approval of faith of certainty that the thing spoken is true and it shall come to pass it is worthy to note that Israel only responded with Amen to the curses of the Lord in Deuteronomy 27 15-26 and numbers 522. and the Tabernacle of David it was the amen of blessing this is an Old Testament and New Testament expression of worship also is the ministry of amen saying amen so we we see that there's a a great difference between the Old Testament and the new testament which is what David stepped into with the Tabernacle of David but there was still a seriousness and a fear and a respect that David had and we go to First Chronicles and it says and David said unto them ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites sanctify yourselves both ye and your brethren that you may bring up the Ark of the Lord God lord god of Israel

  9. unto the place that I have prepared for it for because you did it not at first the Lord Our God made a breach upon us for that we sought him not after the due order so the priest and the levite Sanctified themselves to bring up the Ark of the Lord God of Israel and so this was after they had had not taken it seriously and had not obeyed the commands of the Lord on how to carry the ark and you know as I ended up dead because of it it was a very serious uh breach it was a very serious Disobedience so the new Tabernacle was a place of joy it was a place where you know they could sing and have an intimate relationship with the Lord but it was also a place where they took it seriously and there was respect for the Lord um I think my experience in churches nowadays we've lost that we've lost the fear of the Lord we have people doing all kinds of things during worship you know drinking their coffee munching on snacks talking to their neighbor um you know even coming in in the middle of worship is a disrespect to the Lord because it's a time set aside for him to honor him and adore him and love him and so in the modern Church especially the American church I think that we've really lost that fear of the Lord that whether it's the Tabernacle of Moses or the Tabernacle of David there needs to be that respect and we need to teach our children for those that have children we need to teach our children to stand we need to teach our children to sing We need to teach our children to raise their hands um it we need to train them up in the way they should go too so that and I think that's what's been lacking a lot in churches is we let them you know sit color do whatever during worship and that's that's not showing reverence to the Lord that's not taking it seriously so if you look at the Tabernacle of Moses it's just to compare them for one last time it's the Tabernacle of Moses had been a very solemn death-filled place because they had the animal sacrifices and the fear of the Lord is what penetrated their services the Tabernacle of David required reverence and obedience but it was a more joyful place to minister to the Lord with a sense of intimacy and relationship if we look at you know the difference in David here are some key things that David had so we could call them the Key of David loved God with all of his heart David loved ministering to God through music David cared about pleasing God David sinned obviously but he also had a

  10. repentant heart after he sinned David was in awe of God he feared God he trusted God he was thankful to God and he operated under the New Covenant principles before Jesus came he had a relationship with the Lord and he knew the Lord and in the next slide I just say true worship comes through relationship that's the that's the difference when you recognize who Jesus is and what he's done for you then there's a an automatic worship and adoration that comes out from you or it should if you're a born-again believer so how did the priesthood change after Jesus first Peter 2 9 he made us the priest but ye are a chosen generation a royal priesthood and holy nation A peculiar people some more peculiar than others I think that ye should show forth the Praises of him who have called you out of Darkness Into His Marvelous Light so we are the royal priesthood we are the ones who are supposed to be ministering to the Lord waiting on the Lord worshiping the Lord in John 4 23 and 24 Jesus said but the hour cometh and now is when the true worshiper shall worship the father in spirit and in truth for the father seeketh such to worship him God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth so how do we worship in spirit and truth I mean it sounds good but how do you implement that how how do you make sure what you're doing is worshiping him in spirit and Truth another quote I thought this would really it explained it really well so I'm going to just read this from Kevin J Connor the Tabernacle of David he says to Worship in spirit is to allow the Holy Spirit to move upon the believer's redeemed Spirit causing love adoration devotion honor and respect to a sin to God the believer is Born Again In His Spirit by the Holy Spirit John 3 1-5 his spirit is to be in Union with the spirit of God and as the holy spirit moves upon the redeemed Spirit then Worship in spirit ascends to God who is Spirit so it just comes out of that redeemed spirit to Worship in truth is to worship according to the word of God Jesus said sanctify them through thy truth Thy word is truth John 17 17. the word of God is scripture is the scripture of Truth God has laid down his word in his word how we are to worship

  11. him he has shown his acceptance of a variety of expressions of praise and of worship from those who truly love him to Worship in truth is to worship according to the word of God and that's where a lot of people a lot of churches are missing it they're just making up their own stuff and it's totally not what the Lord has designated and it goes on to say thus Worship in spirit and in truth involves the believer honoring and adoring God by quickening by the quickening of the Holy Spirit and according to the word of the Lord the spirit and the word are both needed in proper worship both must be there if the spirit is not there then Worship Is Dead lifeless it is according to the letter which killeth all becomes empty form if the word is not there then the worship can become more sentimentalism emotionalism and can lead to fanaticism there is a need there's need of the spirit and the word in true biblical worship so I just I think that says it it all right there I mean you have to have you have to have the word and you have to have the spirit you have to have the Holy Spirit moving on you in order to truly truly worship God so if you come into a place at the very end you're probably not going to get there you're probably not going to get to the point of worshiping in spirit and Truth um and if a place is doing all kinds of crazy stuff flinging Gold Dust at you or or you know pumping smoke out and having flashy lights going everywhere they're not doing it according to the Bible they're not doing it according to the word so how how did the word once again tell us what are the things that we're supposed to do worship according to the word is Ministry of singers and singing musicians and instruments Levites before the ark recording thanking the lord Ministry of Praise Ministry of Psalms Ministry of rejoicing and joy Ministry of clapping of Hands Ministry of shouting Ministry of dancing lifting up of hands worship seeking the Lord spiritual sacrifices and the ministry of saying amen now we're going to look at a few of the words in in the Bible that describe different types of worship also the first one is yada and that means to wave the hands to use the hands to throw to worship or Revere with extended hands are moving second chronicles 20 21 says and when he had consulted with the people he appointed singers unto the Lord and that should praise the beauty of Holiness as they went out before the Army to say

  12. praise or yada the Lord for his mercy endureth forever Psalm 45 17 says I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations therefore shall the people praise or yada thee forever and ever Psalm 145 10 all thy Works shall praise or yada thee O Lord and thy Saints shall bless thee the next word Toda to extend the Hands by implication a vowel usually adoration specifically a choir of worshipers a sacrifice of praise Thanksgiving and offering enter into his gates with Thanksgiving or Toda and into his courts with praise be thankful unto him and bless his name so this is how we're supposed to go in before the Lord we're supposed to all for Thanksgiving Even in our worship Services we can start that way we can you know just speak to the Lord yourself even if it's not happening in your church just thank Him Praise Him and thank him as you begin your your worship you're entering into his his uh courts his Gates with Thanksgiving Psalm 50 14 says offering to God Thanksgiving or Torah and pay thy vows into the most high Psalm 107 22 and let them sacrifice the sacrifices of Thanksgiving Torah and declare his works a lot of times you hear it it's a sacrifice of Thanksgiving because things aren't always going right and that's why I like this Jonah 2 9 and 10. guess where he was he was in the fish but guess what he was doing he was offering Toda but I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of Thanksgiving or Torah I will pay that that I have vowed salvation is of the Lord and the Lord spake unto the fish and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land so even in the belly of the fish he was offering a sacrifice of Thanksgiving we have a lot to learn there we tend to thank him when he's done something you know that's when we we tend to remember as we thank him for what he did for us but we need to just be thanking him continually not hooked to his hand it's not what he gives us with his hand it's who he is um this is a book that I we read as a family it's called the great connection and it's by Bonnie douchelle I'm I'm not sure I'm spelling that I'm saying that right but um it's a good book there are some things that you know I don't agree within it but it was it was you know it was a good book um but the quote that she I pulled out

  13. of that book from her is there are two times to praise God when you feel like it and when you don't and that's how we should be when we feel like it and when we don't that's a good thing to we need to post that on a sign in our house there are two times to praise God when you feel like it and when you don't the next word that we're going to look at is Shabbat and that means to shout and Triumph to God to address in a loud tone that is specifically loud figuratively to pacify as if by words command Glory keep in pray still Triumph so that speaks for itself oh praise the Lord all you Nations praise or Shabbat him all you people Psalm 117 1. Psalm 145 4 one generation shall praise or Shabbat thy Works to one another and shall declare thy Mighty act so we're supposed to be shouting it out right and another thing that I took out of this book from the great connection she says she was talking about this soccer game and all you know we we don't really do soccer as much here we do football but you know the people are going crazy they were all excited for their kids playing the soccer game and then she said some of the wildest soccer fans on Saturday afternoon come to church on Sunday morning and act as if they're at a funeral God has created them to shout but the devil has convinced them they should shout everywhere but in church and that's very true it's not it you know people think it's undignified or people think it's emotional but we have a lot to shout about and we need to be expressing ourselves with these things that the Lord has specifically put in his word that his people are supposed to be doing um you don't have to do all of them at once you know but we do need to start praying that the Holy Spirit would move on us to help us to worship him in the ways that are acceptable and um that he's laid out in his word the next word here is zamar zalmar to touch the strings or parts of a musical instrument to make music accompanied by voice to celebrate in song and music to God and then you know we have a lot of of that going on my heart is fixed oh God my heart is fixed I will sing and give zamar Psalm 57 7 I will praise thee with my whole heart before the gods I will sing praise or zamar unto thee Psalm 138 1 and then Psalm 147 1 praise ye the Lord for it is good to sing praises or zamar unto our God for it is pleasant and praise is comely next word Barack to bless God as an act of adoration to kneel to Bow as an act of reverence with an attitude to receive so you see these scriptures here Psalm

  14. 26 12 my foot standeth in an even place in the congregation will I bless or Barack the Lord I Will Bless or brought the Lord at all times his praise shall continually be in my mouth Psalm 34 1 o come let us worship and bow down let us kneel or Barack before the Lord our maker Psalm 95 6 and bless or Barack the Lord O my soul and forget not has been all his benefits Psalm 103 2. we have two more Halal to be clear to shine hence to make a show to boast be glamorously foolish to Rave rage shine Blessed Be The Lord Of God lord god of Israel forever and ever and all the people said amen and praised or Halal the Lord I will declare thy name unto my brethren in the midst of the congregation will I praise or Halal thee Psalm 22 22. um and you see the word to Rave here that's one of the examples I'm sure that you've all heard of the Raves that the young people go to and they they act a fool really you know they have their music going all crazy and they're jumping up and down and they're you know twirling around and it's just a wild crazy um time but that's that's the Satan's counterfeit for what we're supposed to actually be doing you know these young people are looking for something and they're not finding it in the church that's you know usually the case they're not finding it in the church they're not fighting with their parents they're not finding it in their Public Schools so they're looking for something and so they they take up a counterfeit and that's what those Raves are it's it's their Worship in Satan um and we're supposed to take that and it's supposed to be turned and we're supposed to worship God you know even foolishly people will think we're fools if we do it right and that's that's just the fact um you won't be accepted if you're wildly praising the Lord you'll be accepted if you go to a rave and act like a fool out there for the for the devil but you want you know people will call you a fool when you do it in church or in your daily life but that's that Halal it's um foolishly that it looks foolish it's so intense and then the last one tahila to sing in the spirit I miss this I miss this I the church I grew up in this we had a worship team and there were times um when they would just play and the whole church would just sing in tongues and it would just be coming out and it was so beautiful um with the order of service and the things

  15. that happen nowadays you I don't you don't see a lot of the singing in the spirit but tequila is to sing in the spirit the praise that God inhabits praise a song of spontaneous laudation to celebrate with song from halal ahim but Thou Art holy o thou that inhabitest the Praises or tahila of Israel Psalm 22 3 my praise or tahila shall be of thee in the great congregation I will pray pay my vows before them that fear him Psalm 22 25. Praise You the Lord sing unto the Lord a new song and his praise or tahila in the congregation of the Saints Psalm 149 1. and this is you know this is when you're really as it says the praise that God inhabits this is coming from his Spirit the holy spirit is just moving on you and you're you're just singing things that he's putting through you um it's it's a beautiful thing and you we need to use this even in our homes you know I remember my mom walking around singing in the spirit um what a great example that was we need to do it in you know sing in the spirit in the shower if you don't want your family to hear you or just let the Lord move through you and strengthen you in that way and um so the next thing is the question is what happens when we worship in spirit and in truth as Jesus said we're supposed to the Ark of the Covenant had been in the Tabernacle of David for approximately 30 years before it was moved to the Temple of Solomon King Solomon used David's example of praise and thanksgiving to dedicate the temple and God came to dwell there second chronicles 5 13-14 says it came to pass as the trumpeters and singers were as one that's another key factor you you start moving in this type of worship and your church will become Unified so as the singers were the trumpeters and singers were as one to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the lord and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and the symbols and the instruments of music that and praise the Lord saying for he is good for his mercy endureth forever and then the house was filled with a cloud even the house of the Lord said that the priest could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God that is what happens when you Worship in spirit and Truth God inhabits the Praises of his people and so when you do that he comes down he comes into that Psalm 22 3 it says but Thou Art holy o

  16. thou that inhabitants the Praises of Israel and that word inhabitists are inhabits means to sit down to dwell to remain to marry to join to abide and it's the same word that's used to describe God sitting on his throne so when we step into this we're literally giving the Lord a place to sit amongst us we are literally inviting him him in to be with us and I think it's interesting that the that definition of that word has to join and you know we go back to what Levi the priests meant was joined to so we're supposed to have the Lord join with us in all that we do or else it's just you know it's just sound okay and what happens when this kind of came on me a couple of months ago I think it was and I even made a Facebook post what happens when God is Not There you have to make your own Glory Cloud you have to make your own show you have a substitute and it's definitely not the Lord and this is what a lot of churches are doing with smoke machines and lights is they're ramping their people up to be emotional and and get into it and you know get them worked up before their 20-minute sermon um but it's not God this is a this is a fake cloud kind of like the fake news it's a fake cloud and they've got to do it because they don't have the real thing because they're not doing it God's way in Amos 5 23 God told Israel take thou away from me the noise of thy songs for I will not hear The Melody of thy vials and and that's I can imagine that that's a lot of what he's saying to churches today is I don't want to even hear it it's just noise it's just noise we have to make sure that we're doing it right we have to make sure that we're doing it in spirit and Truth with the word and with the Holy Spirit leading us and it may be something different it may look different for each one of us but as long as it's spirit-led then we're drawing closer to God James 4 8 draw an eye to God and He will draw night to you and that's that's what we where our goal is in worship is to glorify him and come closer to him Matthew 18 20. it says for where two or three are gathered together in my name there am I or that means I exist in the midst of them so we have to believe that if we believe God's word is true then we have to believe when we get together even just two or three of us and we worship and we come together that the Lord is there literally he's come in just like that

  17. cloud whenever they dedicated the temple he comes in and he inhabits our praises and we need to act like it like I said give him respect give him the respect that he is due as God creator um Arcane you wouldn't come into a king and go oh sorry I'm you know I'm 30 minutes late hey how are you and just make a big you know show you come in respectfully you wouldn't let your kids act however they wanted whenever you're approaching a king you would have them reigned in and you would teach them the protocol and so that's what we need to learn the protocol we need to teach people the protocol our churches need to be operating with the proper worship protocol and it all goes back to getting back to what the word says from the Tabernacle of David and how David did it so I just threw the worship is really about God but it does benefit us and so I just threw a couple of examples of that in here because I really I prefer worship that focuses on God a lot of a lot of songs nowadays are me me me me I feel I feel I feel and it's really supposed to be Worthy is the Lamb and he is awesome and mighty and about him but I did throw this in here and when you believe in God you can sing praises even before your battle is won and that's what happened here second chronicles 20. verses 20 through 23 he says and they Rose early in the morning and went forth Into the Wilderness of Toccoa and as they went forth Jehoshaphat stood and said Hear Me O Judah and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem believe in the Lord your God so shall you be established believe His prophets so shall ye prosper and when he had consulted with the people he appointed he did it it wasn't that God really told him to he appointed singers unto the Lord that should praise the beauty of Holiness as they went out before the Army and to say praise the Lord for his mercy endureth forever and when they began to sing and to praise the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon Moab and mount seer which foretcome against Judah and they were smitten for the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount seir utterly to slay and Destroy them and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of seer everyone helped to destroy another so the Lord fought this battle and turned it on him but they were praising him and and worshiping him even before the battle started because they had confidence in the Lord and they knew that he it would turn out the way he says it would

  18. another example in the New Testament of this is that freedom comes through praising God acts 16 25-26 and at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang Praises unto God and the prisoners heard them and suddenly there was a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's bands were loosed I said you know here they are in prisons kind of like Jonah he's in he's in the belly of the fish and he's thanking God Paul and Silas they're sitting in prison and they're praising God that's that's a true Christian that's someone who has a relationship with with Jesus and that means the where it says saying Praises it means to celebrate God so they were sitting in this nasty old prison celebrating God so to close this lesson this this was a really neat thing that I came across again in this book by Kevin um Kevin J Connor the Tabernacle of David and I know that this is true he goes through and he shows the different times in um you know Israel's history where they had Godly Kings and the worship was implemented and done the way it was supposed to be and then they would go through a season where there were ungodly Kings and the worship would go away and they would have a breach and they would have issues and and they would have a very dry and bad time and then he took it to church history so church history whenever there's been dark times and the worship has You Know The Enemy wants to steal the worship out of the churches and out of the world um I was I was Disturbed I can't even remember the guy's name but he's some evangelist that's like the hot new thing that people were posting on Facebook and YouTube and all excited about and I'm not saying he's not a great evangelist but I was very disturbed because one of the things that he he said and I'm not going to get it exactly right because it's been months but he was coming against worship and that really that stuck in me and I thought now he had his reasons that he explained it um you know people have gotten too focused on worship this and that but great revivals had worship you know you think about the Brownsville Revival Lynn McCauley was a key player in that because they worshiped the Lord and He inhabited the Praises of his people he came down on that place and so this guy was you know putting the emphasis on evangelism and this and this and this and we're not going to do worship and so it just it really stuck in me and

  19. concerned me and I thought I mean it even made me think Hmm is he a wolf because we were created to worship and praise the Lord so that's a that's an important part over the years of church history Decline and apostasy set in even as Israel's history the church departed from the faith once delivered to the Saints the ministry of true worship of music and the song of the Lord Departed spiritual death settled on the people of God but even as in Israel's history so in church history God had a faithful Remnant who sought the Lord to recover the days of old God began to visit his people to restore that which was lost over the years to repair the breaches of the Dark Ages reformation and restoration began to move the Church of God music and songs started to be heard in the congregation of God God began to raise up Godly reformers Godly leaders and gave them to them the songs of the Lord the breaches began to be stopped thus every Awakening every movement of the spirit of God has had some particular new song associated with it and I feel that that's what the Lord is bringing this Remnant in this these end times these last days back to you know the heart of David the Heart of Worship the the true worship Amos 9 11 says in that day will I raise up the Tabernacle of David that has fallen and close up the breaches thereof and I will raise up his ruins and I will build it as in the days of old and I believe is as far and Grace School of ministry students as Christians in general the Lord is really wanting us to get back in his word when it comes to worship he's wanting us to sing his Psalms you know sing his scripture make your own songs you can't depend on what's out there I can just tell you I can't even listen to Christian radio I can't it agitates my spirit they may have the the right words some of them but it's not the right spirit so don't depend on all of the can music and all of those things make your own songs Through the scripture sing in the spirit and if you're in a church encourage them if you can to get back to Spirit worshiping and spirit and Truth we implemented in our own lives in our own homes and our children our families and then we can we can preach it and pass it on to others and I truly believe that part of the outpouring in the last days part of um you know God pouring out his Spirit as he's promised is that we have to get back to what we're supposed to be doing

  20. with in worship and praise so I know that we're working on that here at fire and Grace Church um so you know I expect that that once we get to a different place in worship and we invite his presence here with that that could be the beginning of the Revival we'll see but um that's pretty much it just go back and study all these scriptures I'm sure this will be on a test Kelsey's shaking her you have yes some of this will be on the test and we love you guys and we pray for you and we'll talk to you later God bless
