right or why should i become a christian if he can't overcome or she can't you know what i'm saying so i'd again i don't understand except for just clear demonic deception that you ignore this issue of dealing with the devil dealing with demons confronting the issue matter of fact i think it actually shows the victory of jesus on the cross and his resurrection it demonstrates it to the world when we identify a demon working in someone or working and attacking someone and through the name of jesus and the power of jesus we set that person free and that shows jesus is victorious over the powers of darkness i don't see where not addressing it shows the victory of the cross amen now let's look at this uh i want to look at some of the some of the scriptures this morning where jesus gives us authority now of course some will try to say that these don't apply to us uh but let's look at them anyway luke chapter 10 everybody with me luke chapter 10 and didn't we establish this last week it's on the cd but we established this last week that jesus has given us power and authority true believers he's given us power and authority to deal with demons to bind them to rebuke them to cast them out to drive them away right to break their power off of people he's given us that powered authority and we went to the scriptures mark 16 15-20 jesus said these signs would follow them that believe in my name they were cast out demons first thing said john 14 12 jesus said he that believeth on me the works that i do shall he do also and greater works in these so whatever jesus did we're supposed to do i shared with you last week how jesus said i go to prepare a place for you right and if i go to prepare a place and p we showed where people have said that he was he was he's gone to build mansions when the verse before that said in my father's house are many mansions so the mansions are already there the place jesus went to prepare us he went he left so we could step into his place on the earth and be the ministry of jesus on the earth now granted none of us not one not any do it as perfect or as good as he did because we're still learning growing maturing and all those things but still jesus wants us to do the works that he did and what did jesus do he taught the word of god he cast out demons he healed the sick right he did miracles and he led sinners to repentance right that is what jesus was about and that's what we're supposed to be about all of those things not one not two but all of those things amen but i want
you to see where jesus was training his disciples which is also our example he was training his disciples and he gave them power and authority to cast out devils now let's go to luke 10 chapter luke chapter 10 verse 1. are you there after these things the lord appointed other 70 also not just the 12 but look at here 70. what's this what's this saying to us that this ministry wasn't just for the 12 as we get from our seminary teachers out there right after these things the lord appointed other 70 also and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place whether he himself would come therefore he said unto them the harvest truly is great but the laborers are few pray ye therefore that the lord of harvest that he would send forth laborers into his harvest now what i love is you got your people who are against uh against deliverance and say that this was only for the apostles yet they'll quote that right there and say we should pray that the lord will send laborers into harvest i love how they pick and choose what they like to preach and quote right that applies to everybody but the rest of it doesn't you know no my friend he says go your ways behold i send you forth as as lambs among wolves and in this situation of course with them carry neither person or script nor shoes salute no man by the way and whatsoever house you enter first say peace be to this house and if the son of peace be there your p shall rest upon it if not it shall turn to you again and in the same house remain eating and drinking such things as they give for the labor is worthy of his hire go not from house to house into whatsoever city you enter there and they receive you eat such things as they set before you and look at verse 9 and heal the sick that are therein and say unto them the kingdom of god is come nigh unto you and then he goes on but into whatsoever city you enter and they receive you not go your ways and go your ways out into the streets of the the same and say even the dust of your city which cleaveth on us we do wipe off against you notwithstanding be sure of this the kingdom of god has come nigh unto you but i say unto you it shall be more tolerable in that day for for sodom than for that city now i want to go on down look at verse 17. he sent these 70 out and it says he sent him out to minister to heal the sick to cast out demons and listen to what they said and the seventy returned again with joy saying lord even the devils or demons are subject unto us through thy name and what the word subject means it means to obey so they were in all these seventy lord that the demons obey us now you're gonna remember something in this society everyone believed in demons because they saw plenty of demonized people to every degree right
but think about this before jesus came they did not really have a way to deal with it so we're talking about a massive problem going on they knew existed but they didn't really have a way to deal with it so jesus comes and that's why everybody was in awe because they said remember we looked at that last week in in mark 1 where it says they were just in awe what new doctrine is this what is this he even the spirits even the demons obey him i mean it just blew their minds right because jesus was coming along and showing hey i'm i'm going to do something new i've come to set the captives free amen i've come to give you victory over the devil you don't have to live with him anymore you don't have to accept him anymore you don't have to bow down to him anymore you don't have to just accept this is the way it is isn't this where christians are today most of them this is just the way it is right no that's not it right so jesus said these seventy come back and you know not the twelve right the seventy and the seventy returned again with joy saying lord even the devils are subject unto us through thy name and he said he said unto them i beheld satan as lightning fall from heaven behold i give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you notwithstanding in this rejoice not that the spirits are subject unto you but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven and he begins to say don't get out of you know but he's telling them hey he was excited about this but he's like don't get out of priority number one thing that's most important is that you're saved but this is awesome because look what jesus says in in verse 21 he says in that hour jesus rejoiced in spirit and said i thank the o father lord of heaven and earth that you have hid these things from the wise and prudent has revealed them unto babes even so father for so it seemed good in thy sight all things are delivered to me of my father and no man knoweth who the son is but the father and who the father is but the son and to whom and he to whom the son will reveal him so jesus turned to them to his disciples and again the disciples he's talking about is the seventy and he turns to them and said privately blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see for i tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which you see and have not seen them and to hear the things which you hear and have not heard them so he plainly says something awesome is taking place here something powerful is taking place here i'm doing something new and you guys get to be part of it and i'm excited about it i'm rejoicing about it that you are rejoicing about it don't get your priorities out of whack number one thing to deal with in anybody's life and in your own life is salvation make sure you're walking right with me walking
holy walking obedient make sure that's number one make sure leading people to jesus is number one but after that hey i want you to take this power that i've given you and of course to tread on serpents and scorpions serpents and scorpions are just symbolic uh pictures of demons and devils here right so pretty awesome right jesus was giving forth a new ministry and we shared it last week i think mark 16 15 16 and 17 there make it very clear that it was to continue on not just with the 12 not just with the 70 but with the rest here's what's interesting if you go and you look in the book of acts you go to acts chapter 6 and you see what you see 120 in the upper room get filled with the holy spirit you see the apostles ministering to people right healing people and all this stuff and things get so busy you know another several thousand people get saved and and things get real busy and finally they gotta appoint these deacons to help them out with serving tables right that's acts chapter six and that's when they lay hands they pick out seven men that have a good report of their lives they pick out these seven men and it says they lay hands on them so that they can help just serve with the serving of of the church right serving tables and just basically helping with with just basic stuff right not really being preachers and teachers but here's the thing and i've shared this before if that's all they wanted them to do stephen and philip and the rest of them if that's all they wanted to them do the apostles should have never laid hands on them because what happened when the apostles laid hands on them there was an impartation of the holy ghost now they already had the holy ghost but there was an impartation of the gift of healing the mere the gifts of the working of miracles which demon casting out demons is part of that and the next thing you see is philip you see steven doing great miracles among the people and the next thing you see is not long after that you see philip leaving there becoming an evangelist and going down to samaria and it says casting out many devils right so the ministry went on beyond the apostles it went on beyond the seventy it went on into the deacons and the elders my point is this it is something that the church all of the church is supposed to do today right and and i can't even express it more how needful it is all right now let's just keep going i want to show you another one somebody say this is good oh let's go to uh let's go back to mark chapter three
just want you to see it again i like how it's worded here in mark mark chapter three and we'll start reading oh we'll just read it verse seven but jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea and a great multitude from galilee followed him from judea and from jerusalem and from udoma and from beyond jordan and they about tire inside on and a great multitude when they had heard what great things he did he came uh came unto him and he spake unto his disciples that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude lest they should throng him for he had healed many in so much that they pressed upon him for to touch him and as many as had plagues and unclean spirits when they saw him fell down before him and cried saying thou art the son of god and he straightly charged them that they should not make him known and he goeth up into a mountain and calleth unto him whom he would and they came unto him and look at verse 14 and 15 and he said in he ordained 12 that they might be with him that he might send them forth to preach and to have power the greek word exusia authority that he they might have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out devils now really what we did here was backed up to the calling of the twelfth we were really ahead with the with the seventy there but look at the same thing the calling of the twelfth he gave them authority to what preach first to preach the word of god and then to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons say this with me god has given me authority to heal sicknesses to cast out demons and to preach the gospel with power amen that's the calling of the church that's the whole purpose of the church right and again i know i'm covering some extra ground uh recovering some ground that we covered last week but a few different scriptures here because i want you to see it so we see this we've been given power and authority now what we need to do is we need to address the issue the issue all right can a christian have a demon now everybody in this church knows that and if you remember last week or last i guess i don't know if we covered it in the morning or we covered it in the evening session it's kind of a blur to me now but last week i covered how that there are differences between what we call demon possession and that even within the definition there's three different parts of the definition to be exercised to be vexed to be totally
controlled and how that there are degrees that we went and showed from mark 5 the gathering demoniac that had thousands of demons was totally controlled or possessed we showed how mary magdalene and luke 8 had seven demons so she wasn't as bad she wasn't totally controlled as the gathering demoniac she wasn't crying cutting herself with stones and had to be chained and lived in the tomb you see there was a different degree of demonic defilement or possession if you want to say the word or whatever in her life and then we went to luke um i was at luke 13 with the woman who had the one spirit of infirmity who was bent over it was causing her a physical problem so we showed that there's different degrees of having a demon and that this is what you have to explain to people when you talk to them and especially christians who have been taught wrong but i look at this here's the question this question has been debated and has been controversial in the body of christ for centuries okay this is not a new debate we're having here right but i say this that it's only controversial because the devil has made it controversial he is the one that does not want people to get free and has sowed this confusion and wrong teaching and wrong understanding of the bible and blinded people from things that is clearly in the bible all right bottom line is this can a christian we ought to ask this question if you want to ask the question can a christian have a demon in them all you got to do is ask one question can a christian sin right so a christian can sin if a christian can sin and we know that's true then a christian can acquire a demon this is what paul was talking about in ephesians 4 27 give no place to the devil well if you give him place by sin by opening a door then it doesn't matter whether you're a christian or not how does an unsaved person get a demon same way exactly right i don't know why that this is somehow a revelation right you play with the devil you open the door you play with his toys you play with stuff in his camp you you open the door you're going to give him place now does that mean you will be totally possessed instantly like the gathering demoniac no but that place where you've opened that door gives the devil a foothold a stronghold to vex you to torment you and to try to influence you deeper into other sins and other things so that you they can get another demon in there another stronghold the the whole plan of satan is to whittle you away piece by piece until he's got you where he wants you okay now having said that i gave you ephesians 4 27 and of course you guys
can turn to that but i want you to turn to ecclesiastes 10 8. see around here we believe all scripture is given by inspiration of god it's profitable right that was ian's memory verse last week well let's go go to everybody go to ecclesiastes108. you want to put a star by a scripture you need to put a star by this one you will be tested on this ecclesiastes 10 8 let me get there these are the writings of solomon through the wisdom that god gave him the spirit of god god gave him even though he didn't live it out his in his life i really believe solomon needed deliverance because he inherited his father's demons they're always going to be worse in the sun than it was in the father if it's not dealt with you can mark that one down but ecclesiastes 10 8 it goes along with the new testament what remember paul said give no place to the devil all right i mean it's up to you and here's what the old testament scripture says about this and he makes it very clear here 10 8 it says he that diggeth a pit shall fall into it and whoso breaketh a hedge a serpent shall abide him now let's talk about what were serpents what did we find out serpents and scorpions were a minute ago demons when the devil deceived eve what did he use what did he possess and use he used a serpent right so that symbol carries on through the old testament and through the new testament right so he says here he that diggeth a pit shall fall into it and whosoever somebody say that word with me whosoever and i'm going to add my words in here saved or unsaved whosoever breaks the hedge a serpent shall bite him now let's let's look at this i i won't have you you turn there but just write this down in your notes you'll be tested on this is your homework you go read job one and two and three maybe but we find out something in job that is a principle with with us job was a righteous man he was a godly man he was a man after god's own heart god even said of him he did not sin with his mouth or with his life that was not why the devil attacked him job got up every day and offered a sacrifice to god and prayed over his children and and i'm going to say this job knew his children were wicked and were not living for god this is why he was so worried about them and he was so concerned about them and he got up every day and he prayed over them he prayed for their protection and
he made a sacrifice and he even said he talked about it because of his children even if they had said something out of their mouth now they were grown and they didn't live with him but he was worried about them and he constantly now when when you see the picture move away from job you see something interesting you see that the devil says when he goes to god and god says have you seen my servant job how he's a righteous man and the devil said yeah i see that and the devil says this you've made a hedge about him i can't touch him job was a righteous man he had this hedge about him now of course his story doesn't so much apply here because god allowed the devil even though god's protection was on him god pulled his protection off and allowed the devil to attack job and to attack his his children now i believe his children had broken the hedge and that they were responsible for that but god backed away and he let that happen because he was going to let job be tested so sometimes it's a test but let me tell you for the most part modern day christians are so compromised and there's so much sin and there's so much junk around us that it's not god allowing us to be tested as much as it is we break the heads around us right are you staying up with me on that i just brought up job to show you that god puts a hedge of protection around those who are who are faithful who are righteous who who are putting their faith in the blood that's why he did a sacrifice every day okay there's a hedge there now the hedge can be broken or god can allow the devil to attack us sometimes even though we haven't done anything wrong but that's not what this message is about today the message about today is can we christians sin break the hedge everybody already said what yes okay so what happens if we break the hedge what does ecclesiastes 10 8 say whosoever breaks the hedge a serpent will bite him right now anybody in this room other than me ever been bitten by a snake and just for and just for those listening huh oh yeah poisonous snake let me rephrase nobody now let me just say for the recording here that i wasn't snake handling up in the mountains of tennessee in some strange pentecostal church this was before i became a christian and i was fishing with a friend of mine in
these three ponds on this guy's property outside of montgomery and the sun had gone was about to go down and i was carrying fishing poles in one hand and i was carrying fish that we caught in the other hand and my shoes had gotten so muddy that old red clay it was so thick i'd taken my shoes off and we were headed toward the car and actually he had already gotten to the car and as i was getting to the car i i went to step and i felt something like nails go into the bottom of my heel and i kick like that because i just thought i'd stepped on a briar or i'd stepped on something and i when i kicked my foot the snake was long enough that it went around my leg a couple of times so i commenced the kick a little harder [Music] and finally i kicked him off and i flung off and went into one of the ponds and uh that's a weird feeling when you know more than likely i said i didn't see him but i said more than likely it was a water moccasin and it was so i ended up having to go to the emergency room and and uh thankfully he didn't get a full dose of venom in me so i didn't i didn't go through a whole lot of except got sick and at my stomach and not bad nauseated and they just watched me made sure the poison didn't run up my leg or anything so anyway but the bottom line on that i share that just to say i know what i'm talking about but a snake a serpent when it bites you what does it do it leaves something in you to kill you to harm you or to kill you that's why god uses these pictures okay when a snake bites you the skin is broken that's your outward protection of your body and poison venom is injected into you and it's left there it doesn't kill you instantly does it no even with black mambas and cobras you got about 15 minutes right so the bottom line is we learned something from this verse if you break the hedge christian or not whosoever whosoever whosoever breaks the hedge the serpent will bite him now how do we break the hedge let me give you the sins that for sure break the hedge all right i'll give you a few here any sexual sin breaks the hedge don't make me list them all fornication pre-marital sex pornography like going down the list adultery homosexuality there's children in the room i don't want to get too explicit here but y'all
get the the gist of it right all right these are the two big ones sexual sin and any dabbling or involvement in the occult or witchcraft any matter of fact these are why god gave such long what's the word such long rants in the old testament to his people about staying out of sexual sin and playing with any form of occultism i.e witchcraft as a matter of fact i have i've had a psychiatrist who works in a mental hospital tell me that the two number one reasons that people are in the mentalist institution and their main problems is sexual perversion and occult dabbling with witchcraft now this is from an unsaved secular psychiatrist told me that okay and i'm like well no wonder it doesn't surprise me and lick because god said don't touch these things don't play with these things all right they are serious you can go back and look through deuteronomy and leviticus deuteronomy 18 deuteronomy 19. you can look at deuteronomy 8 you can look at leviticus 17. you can i mean it's just all over the place leviticus 19. it's just the the god is serious and to see a lot of people say well that's old testament no these things continued on over into the new testament right we see them in ephesus we see a lot of demon possessed people in ephesus and when they saw demon-possessed people getting delivered in ephesus what'd they do they says they brought their books of their curious arts their witchcraft arts they brought them together and burned them they began to see we by what we are doing are opening the doors to the devil to demons now the biggest argument that you're going to hear can a christian have a demon go to second corinthians chapter six right now i've covered this before you guys i've covered it two other times and messages that are you know but i'm gonna cover it again but second corinthians chapter six here's the argument you get remember we we mentioned it last week in our five o'clock session i believe the biggest argument is what light and darkness can't dwell in the same place the same avenue all right second corinthians 6 this is what they quote to try to throw you off course here even though we got the scripture to christians ephesians give no place to the devil even though we got ecclesiastes ten
eight whosoever breaks the hedge the serpent will bite him right even though we got who so i like who so he's like jose who's so even though we got who so they'll pull this out right here and this is what's interesting they'll pull this out in 2nd corinthians 6 and they'll say you know in verse oh 14. he says be not ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness and what communion has light with darkness and they pull that out right there and they go see light and dark can't be in the same place at the same time let me ask you something let's just look at this room within this room right here we have one two three four lights on are there places in this room that there are still places where it's dark maybe under the couch maybe up in the couch a little bit maybe creviced in behind those books there are little places there are places of darkness here behind the tv you see what i'm saying so light and dark are in the same place at the same time it's just darkness right now it's not dominating totally controlling this room but that's just taken in the natural let's realize let's stop in second second and realize sometimes we get we jump a little too literal on things anyway but let's just say for the sake of argument what they're not realizing in this verse is he's talking about not so much physical light and physical darkness he's talking about spiritual light and spiritual darkness okay and even though god uses some examples at times they're not always hardcore the only place there will be light and no darkness at all is heaven won't even be shadows there why because jesus will be the light and no darkness will be allowed there right so here's the problem though they're sitting there going well light and darkness can't dwell in the same place at the same time yet the reason paul says this they're missing the point the reason paul says this to the corinthian church is because it's exactly what they were doing they were in fornication they were in incest they were in they were into eating things sacrificed to idols they still had idolatry in their midst they had all this stuff going on so they were doing it so the very reason he said it you can't take that and prove your point they were having fellowship with darkness and it's called the works of the devil darkness idolatry can be called darkness sexual sin darkness you see what i'm saying they were doing it and that's why he goes on to say he says in what agreement has the temple of god with idols for you are the temple of the living god as god has said i will dwell in them and walk in them i will be their god and they shall be my people wherefore for that reason because god's in you and
you're supposed to be the temple of god for that reason come out from among them and be separate saith the lord and touch not the unclean thing and i will receive you and i will be a father unto you and you shall be my sons and daughters saith the lord almighty so come out from my mind he's trying he's telling this church come out of the works of dark so they were already in them right and then he tells us in the very next verse remember there weren't chapters and verses when he wrote this it was a continual letter the very next thing he says to these christians is the command to cleanse themselves that we've talked about before if you need to remember a verse for this class this is one of them second corinthians 7 1 the very next verse he says having therefore these promises dearly beloved who's he speaking to born-again christians dearly beloved having therefore these promises dearly beloved let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of god wait a minute how can christian have unclean filthiness in their spirit i'll tell you what this even goes against the popular charismatic teaching there was a teaching within the charismatic church that a christian could have a demonic spirit in their body or in their soul but not in their spirit that's not even true if we go by this verse now we've already established i'm going to say this real quick everybody knows first john 1 9 right first john 1 9 if we confess our sins he speaking of jesus is faithful and just to cleanse us of our sins to forgive us of our sins rather and cleanse us from all unrighteousness right so that says that something he does all right but this verse is something we do let us cleanse ourselves i've given this illustration but for those of you who are not here i'll show you all right here we go here's how it works i'm balling up two pieces of paper for those of you just listening all right i'm balling up two pieces of paper my fist here is your heart your spirit soul and body we'll just say that now when you begin to meditate on a sin and then finally give in to it what happens is a door opens up and then you commit the sin let's say it's the sin of fornication or the sin of playing with a ouija board or the sin of you know going to a fortune teller whatever you want to say you open a door and the sin of let's just say the sin of witchcraft goes into your heart alright everybody knows that and most all preachers out there well the baptist
methodist pentecostal will admit that but what they don't admit is what follows right behind that sin is the demon spirits of divination in witchcraft go right into your heart right behind it now what happens to many people let's say this person wasn't a christian but they come to jesus and they believe in jesus that he died for them and rose again and they say lord forgive me for my sin of witchcraft and the stuff i was into lord i believe that your blood was shed for me wash my sins away cleanse me i want to be your disciple i want to be saved i want to be your servant and jesus comes along and he cleanses them from the sin of witchcraft and we throw that out of the heart it's thrown into the sea of forgetfulness but this right here is how christians walk around after that they walk around still with the unclean spirit in there they walk around with this door open the hedge is broken the door is open the demon's still there and yes does he have total control no but he's going to manipulate he's going to torment he's going to vex he's going to try to operate from that place of secrecy because the christian thinks that they're free now i've seen this hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of times so what happens is we just read first john 1 9 the two cleansings first john 1 9 he jesus cleanses us so what is paul talking about to christians who've already been saved forgiven of their sin yet they got filthiness in their flesh and spirit let us got news for you since jesus went to heaven he doesn't cast demons out of people anymore but never ever ever do you see jesus casting demons out of anybody anymore why he gave it to us to do read it over and over in my name you will cast id right i give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions over all the power you resist the devil and he will flee from you you bind the strong man and you will spoil his house the authority jesus has given us over the devil is something that he's given us like keys to a car he's handed it to him say here you are i give you the keys of the kingdom guess what paul if i give you the keys to my car you can put them in your pocket you can hang them in your house you can dance around with them so i got the keys but if you never use them take them out of your pocket put them where they go use them the way they're supposed to be used you and my car will never get anywhere right
this is what the authority to bind and cast out demons and and do this so the christian is supposed to come along and after they have been forgiven of the sin of witchcraft they're supposed to take authority and say i bind the demon spirits of divination this familiar spirits the spirits that i open the door to through my sin i bind you i break your power and jesus now commands you to go and the spirit goes and then you say jesus i ask you to close the doorway and reseal the hedge where i broke it that's deliverance okay now that's bible now let's go back to their argument like the light and darkness thing right well god and the devil can't dwell in the same place at the same time so you got the victory really let me show you something everybody all know this all right first question i ask them okay is god omnipresent anybody know what that means the word omnipresent god almighty is everywhere all the time oh david even made this statement what is it psalm 138 i believe y'all have to check me on that i'm trying to do that by memory but what did he say even if i go down to hell you're there god's presence is everywhere matter of fact i could really freak y'all out with a an idea that i have about god's fire that god is a consuming fire but we'll deal with that later but here's the thing he said his presence is everywhere now if that is true if god's presence is in heaven on the earth fills the universe even in hell itself if it is true that the devil and god couldn't dwell anywhere i mean if it's true that the devil god can't be in the same place the same time then guess what the devil couldn't exist right he couldn't be anywhere so god permits that there'll be a day he won't anymore but he permits that now okay but let's look at something some people say well that's different god's omnipresence is different from his manifest chicana glory that's in heaven at the throne and that's what's in the christian spirit when they're born again they've got the shekinah glory not yes it's true yet in the book of job what do we at the very throne of god all of a sudden it says the sons of god are presenting themselves before the lord that's the angels of god and all of a sudden it says satan is standing there he goes from where you've been satan and the devil goes from walking to and
fro throughout the earth so clearly he wasn't on the earth where was he at the very throne of god this is what i say do you think there was any presence of god at the throne of god yeah and yet satan was standing there having a conversation with god almighty god permitted it why did he permit it he permits it and uses the devil to bring forth maturity into our lives tests struggles trials he allows the devil to do certain things to even exist because that's what demonstrates as well our free will to choose god or to choose satan all right so their argument that the devil can't be in the same place at the same time it's just not true now i'm not going to turn and read this because i'm going to close with this right here but there's an example in the old testament and and you have to put second chronicles uh chapter 36 and you have to put that together with ezekiel 8 9 and 10. okay now let me explain and i'm just going to give you this that king manasseh was one of the most wicked kings of israel but god's holy presence was still in the holy of holies in the in the temple of solomon and you don't see him leave until toward the end of or or with his into ezekiel's ministry so you we know when the spirit of god left you get that that clear understanding of when the glory of god lifted up off the temple and left in ezekiel chapter 10 8 9 and 10 there all right but he says he actually says to jeremiah and to ezekiel that the reason he's doing this bringing this judgment in on from babylon and removing his presence from his temple is because of what manasseh did and what the elders of israel were doing inside his temple and what had happened was manasseh had set up an image an idol within the temple they had scribbled and drawn their demon gods the demon gods of other nations inside the temple of god they had brought in women weeping for tamas and the elders of israel were worshiping the sun toward the east there couldn't have been more demonic activity going on in the temple of god than at that time than ever before and yet god had not left his presence had not left that temple yet as a matter of fact god put up with somewhere around 100 years of his temple being defiled with demonic activity
before he left you talk about the mercy and patience of god right second chronicles uh 36 33-36 i believe those chapters there i'm just giving it to you quick here because we got to quit so my point is this god puts up with this light and darkness in the same place at the same time he tolerates it in us in his people even in his church he tolerates it because he's trying to give us time to deal with it give us time to learn give us time to mature give us time to confront the issues because he's merciful and he's patient what happens if you don't eventually if you don't deal with demonic defilement in your temple your body your soul your spirit whether it's in you whether it's in a church sooner or later those demons are going to rise up and destroy you they will finally get enough strength to take you down and then we got a mess then we got scandal right everybody knows what i'm talking about y'all wouldn't believe what stuff we're finding out right now some of the biggest tv ministries right now on tv some of the things that are going on in them tbn mike murdock even benny hen others it's unbelievable what is going on out there personally what i believe i believe that now i don't know about mike murdock but i do know this i believe that paul crouch started out right i believe that benny hinn started out right but they're way way off now and i believe it's because they never really dealt with the demons and they never dealt with the sins of greed they didn't stick to the bible they opened the door and they gave place to more and more demons and they never dealt with it and now that y'all would not believe the stuff that is going on in christianity and i'll tell you this much the devil i think he's just laughing because he's going to expose it on a greater degree in the days ahead and go ahead and finish turning the world even further against christians he's going to use everything he's got so we see what two cleansings right
i can't remember who said it i can't remember it was lester sumrall or derek prince or one of those guys that believed years ago that christians could have a demon and somebody asked him and said can a christian have a demon and they say the christians have anything they want you want them you can have them and again i'll tell you this is why people don't get free from homosexuality this is why there are christians who i i believe with all my heart they love god they love god they want to be with god but they never ever get free from sexual immorality there are christians right now listen y'all i know i talk to them okay we minister to a lot of people that don't go to this church all right a lot of people but christians who are addicted to pills you know prescription medication getting illegal prescriptions christians that want to commit suicide christians who talk about how much they love god but they never get out of premarital sex christians and adultery christians in homosexuality i think the biggest thing going on right now i think one of the biggest things is we have no comprehension of how many christians are going to normal evangelical churches who are who the church itself does not accept homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle yet within their churches these people are living practicing homosexuals and they are active parts of their church and in even leaders all right and it i mean there's always been some of this don't get me wrong but i think we are at epidemic levels and there's going to be i'm going to be honest with you there's going to be some things in this town it's going to be exposed there will be because god only puts up with it for so long before he finally says you know be sure this is a scripture from what uh what is it can't remember now deuteronomy i remember david wilkinson preached on it many years ago be sure your sins will find you out god gives time things in secret eventually get shouted from the rooftops right especially if you are in the ministry god will expose this stuff can i say this in closing this is not i'm not saying any of this to condemn anybody i know there are good well-meaning christians out there that are struggling i went through it myself i struggled i
went through deliverance it saved my life okay so i'm not condemning anybody i know what it's like to feel like you're being overwhelmed and and and those forces that still have those strongholds in you are trying to take you and sweep you away this is it's not a condemnation thing we want to help people right and that's what this is about and this is why you know what we can take a strong stand you know just like kevin and i we went out witnessing this was months back in downtown auburn and we end up one night talking to a guy who was a flaming homosexual and he was just going off about how he had tried christianity and he had tried this and he tried that and it didn't work and he was just going to live his life the way he wanted to live it and i said well i said first of all you don't try christianity but let me back up like you either do it or you don't i said but let me back up i said has any did any of those christians or pastors or ministers that tried to lead you to the lord or lead you into the church i said did any of them ever talk to you about you needed the demons cast out of you i said no i said well that's your missing link right there that's why you couldn't do it i said first you got to admit that it's a sin and you got to hate it like god hates it and you got to want to be free i said but if you want to be free and you ask god to forgive you you ask jesus into your life i said then somebody's got to come along and help you and cast those demons out of you or you will never be free boy he paused didn't he he paused and thought about that for a while but see this is the truth and that's the that's where people have great need right now great need so you need to learn these things so you can explain this to them amen not trying to condemn you not trying to beat you up not trying to say oh you got a demon you know as some derogatory thing i had them you get what i'm saying i had doors open to them they were tearing me up but i got free and i know how to help you get free i want to help you if you listen to me i'll help you how can somebody beat that i mean they can say no but you're not saying hey you're not saying oh just believe in jesus and everything's gonna be all right no we gotta believe in jesus and we gotta we gotta go down the road and be a disciple let's pray thank you jesus father we thank you for your word god i know there'll be people who hear this
who just don't have ears to hear they've been indoctrinated by their churches and their denominations and they just will not hear the issue of deliverance christians who need deliverance lord i just pray the name of jesus that you will help us to be that light and that witness lord there is no condemnation that we're trying to bring but just freedom freedom through the blood of jesus through the name of jesus freedom to have sins washed away and have the demon strongholds cast out and broken and torn down and and to have that hedge of protection built back up and to have the the doors closed and sealed to be free and then to know how to stay free lord i ask you to bless your people and hear bless those hearing this god let us become lord truly ministers that set the captives free we pray this in jesus name amen
