that we can be vessels of honor and we can be channels of his power and lord we come to you this morning and i just want everybody to be praying that the the fire of revival will come down in our midst the fire of revival will come down in auburn and opelika and this whole region lord father in heaven this morning together as a church we come before you and god we we need you lord our community needs you our friends and family around us that are lost they need to know you they need to feel your power and for your word to penetrate their hearts and we just pray god for the fire of holy ghost revival to come lord to come that you would rent the heavens and step down and move in mighty ways lord i thank you for what you're doing but lord i know there's more and i know that you are calling us to dig deeper to lay down more to lay down everything and to go after you with all of our heart soul mind and strength to be people of prayer to be people of holiness and purity to be people of of hunger and thirst for righteousness to be people lord who love jesus with all their heart soul mind and strength and that don't cling to to things in this world lord anoint us with fresh oil fill us with the holy ghost again give us the fire and the power of god in our lives father i pray this in the name of jesus lord god there's no there's no limit to the depths that we can walk with you we just have to let go of every weight and the sin and press in prayer and press after you and in prayer and fasting and obedience and you will you will reveal yourself you will work miracles you will touch people's lives you will save people you will save souls through our witness and through our prayers it's in jesus name we pray amen you may be seated hallelujah somebody praise the lord this morning the title of the message is simply blood just simply blood and then you say well well pastor dean why are you just calling it blood why not you know the blood of jesus or whatever well the there's more blood than just the blood of jesus and i want to say this at the outset of this all blood has power we're going to talk about that you might want to write that down i'm going to prove it to you here in a second but all blood has power satan knows this and of course god knew it from the beginning of creation because he put it in the scriptures all the way back in genesis and leviticus and numbers and deuteronomy and the torah and the law god talked about the power that's in blood and i'm going to turn to this verse in a
minute but leviticus 17 11 says this that the life of the flesh is in the blood and i have given it to you upon the altars to make an atonement for your souls and we're going to turn to that in a minute just write down leviticus 17 11 but blood is powerful okay blood also is a living thing let me let me say this to you blood is is is you know we were created in the image of god all right and when god put blood in us he put it in us knowing that one day he would step down from heaven become a man and shed his blood his precious blood to redeem man and we'll get more into that in a second but god put blood in us [Music] and when he put blood in us it's both spiritual and physical and i'm going to prove that this morning that even when you die your blood continues to live i'll explain that in a second because even abel's blood the first man ever murdered god said the abel's blood is speaking from the ground the blood cries out from the ground that's why that's why judgment comes actually innocent blood and blood that's been spilled on the earth through violence and murder all of that's going to be answered for because that blood is crying out to the to god from the ground and i'm going to show you that in the word but i i just want you it has power the blood has power to defile it has power to curse and the devil knows this is why satan in all of his especially going way back in in thousands of years ago but even to this day the devil and in his pagan religions and satanism and all these different things demands uh blood sacrifices animal sacrifices even human sacrifices are still taking place to this day because the devil knows there's power in that blood and if that blood can be if that blood can be spilled upon the earth in violence or murder or sin then he knows that he curses the earth and he gets more power in the lives of the people who commit these sins and who are polluted by blood but there's one blood more powerful we all know what that is amen the blood of jesus came and is the most powerful and the most precious but i'm going to talk about our attitude toward it and just just want you to see this but let's go first i told you to go to uh we'll we'll get to leviticus in a minute i want you to go to genesis so you'll see what i'm talking about i just went ahead and made some statements but now we'll we'll back them up with the scriptures genesis chapter four
we could back up in chapter three um when adam and eve sinned the bible said god clothed them with coats of skins well what what coats of skins possibly we don't know it doesn't say but we do know this that means it had to come off an animal meaning that animal had to die and shed its blood so that adam and eve's sin could be covered the shame of their nakedness could be covered and so god made this first blood sacrifice but it could only cover sin right jesus came what did jesus what did john the baptist say behold what the lamb of god that takes away the sin of the world well we're going to talk about something just because the blood of jesus has been shed does it and for us and for all mankind doesn't mean it's been sprinkled on you we'll talk about that in a second too but genesis i want to read this in genesis 4 so you'll see about what i'm talking about that blood has power god knows this the devil knows this genesis 4 verse 1 and adam knew his wife knew eve his wife and she conceived and bear cain and said i have begotten a man from the lord and she again bear his brother abel and abel was a keeper of the sheep but cain was the tiller of the ground and in the process of time it came to pass that cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the lord and abel he also brought the firstlings of his flock of the fat thereof and the lord had respect unto abel into his offering but unto cain and to his offering he had not respect and cain was very roth or very angry and his countenance fell now let me just stop right here you know a lot of people don't realize they look over chapter 3 where god killed the animal and clothed them with coats of skin god had made it clear to adam and eve that the only thing that atoned for sin the only thing that dealt with sin was blood see the wages of sin is death and this is something we just need to get down in us the wages of sin is always death this is why galatians chapter 6 um what is it seven and eight there galatians six when it says be not deceived god is not mocked whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap if he sows to the flesh he shall of the flesh reap corruption but if he sows to the spirit he shall of the spirit reap life everlasting so the the wages of sin or the reaping process of sin is always some kind of death spiritual death physical emotional death is the result of sin so something when there is sin when there is rebellion or disobedience to god something has to die something always has to die and shed its blood that's why throughout the old testament starting in
genesis chapter 3 blood of animals was shed because we know that god god is like this remember god's not not bound by time that's why we we see scriptures where it talked about the lamb slain from the foundation of the world you ever wondered about that scripture you know why because with god time doesn't exist he created time for us but he is everything in him past present and future is complete all right everything's complete he knows it he's done it it is finished i mean that's why jesus could say on the cross as he as he bled and died there on the cross for the sins of mankind that's why he could say it is finished but really we're past we're 2000 years and we're about to see the mystery of god finished in the book of revelation and see it finished and completed but to god that two thousand years is nothing it's a blink of an eye it's it's not even a second to him you see it's done in him it's done the lamb was slain from the foundation of the world god does god's not was he's not will be he is but he explained it he said i am i am the one who was and is and is to come but really he just is time will cease one day time will cease to exist and we will move into what's called eternity isn't that good no more day no more night no more worry no more weariness we will move into eternity one day so with god he was looking ahead he was looking and knew he knew that the lamb would be slain so what did he do he s he slew the animals and he he instituted animal sacrifices to foreshadow to give an example until the right time could come that jesus could step down and die on that cross but he had to get in the mind and you think about it what was he getting into the minds of his people in genesis and then in exodus and then throughout the whole animal sacrificial system he's getting into their heads you have got to obey me and you have got to have faith and actions with blood to atone and cleanse for sin everything in the tabernacle everything was about blood moses sprinkled the books the the the tablets he sprinkled the altar he sprinkled everything aaron and his sons everything had to be sprinkled with the blood of a sacrifice to be worth anything to god so without the shedding of blood that's why the bible says without the shedding of blood there is no remission or removal or forgiveness of sins but blood has to be applied okay blood has to be applied just because jesus shed his blood doesn't mean that it's going to affect you or help you at all you have to do something with it that's
why in in exodus if you go to exodus and you read the account of the first passover in egypt what does it say they they killed the lamb and they bled that little lamb blood into a bowl right and then what did god say to to moses he said tell them to take hyssop which was a plant that they could stick down in it and tell them to put the blood on the doorpost and god said when i see the blood on the doorpost this death angel will pass over you but what if they had just left the blood in the bowl and had not obeyed god that's why you see in the new testament i'm going to turn to all these scriptures i promise you you see it says that we are saved by the what sprinkling of the blood of jesus the sprinkling of the blood and what is that faith faith by actions what faith without works is dead being alone that's why i'm in any way i'm going to prove to you with these people that say well jesus died on the cross for everyone so everyone's going to heaven ultimately whether they exercise faith whether they believe in jesus whether they turn from their sins or not all these lies that are out there no no friend if the blood's not applied to you by faith and obedience and repentance let me just say this your obedience and repentance is the hyssop that dips in the blood and sprinkles it on your heart and your soul and your spirit to make it clean and to make it holy and to make it right to be prepared to die or to be prepared when jesus comes back say this with me blood has to be applied can't just sit in the bowl amen we're going to look at this so let's keep reading our story in genesis i'm sorry i had to stop y'all don't mind dude i'm excited about this this morning there's power in the blood of jesus amen and we need to have respect for it that's something that's why i'm preaching this message this morning but anyway back down to verse 6 and the lord said unto cain why are you wroth or angry why is your countenance fallen if you do well you will shall you not be accepted and if you do not well sin lies at the door and unto thee shall be his desire and you shall rule over him and cain talked with abel his brother and it came to pass when they were in the field that cain rose up against his brother and slew him and the lord said unto cain where is abel thy brother and he said i know not am i my brother's keeper and he said why have you what have you done the voice of your brother's blood cries unto me from the ground well y'all under that line that in your word why is america about to be judged by god 4 000 unborn a day blood crying from the ground murders
unbelievable we are in the time when god said in the days of noah will be when this like the days of noah to be the coming of the son of man violence in the earth fill the earth literally folks the earth itself romans 8 tells us groans is groaning for jesus to come back it just the world itself you want me to tell you what i believe i know maybe i cannot prove this but i'll tell you i believe this you know one of the signs of the end the bible jesus said there'll be great earthquakes in diverse places you know i believe there's more earthquakes and they're increasing with intensity believe the earth itself is just collapsing under the weight of sin and blood that's been shed upon it and the blood is it's just getting this it's just getting too heavy to even for the earth to bear the earth has already moved off its axis several inches the last several earthquakes have moved there the last one moved at four inches the axis of the earth messed up gps they had to recalculate god said in the end he would rise to shake terribly the earth and the earth would wobble like a drunken man that 9.0 that shook japan wobbled the entire earth exactly what god said thousands of years ago the earth can't take it anymore and that's why jesus has to return or the bible says that's why jesus said if i don't cut those days short in the end if i don't come back no one would survive no one would be alive the earth itself would vomit the inhabitants off of it so we see that abel's blood crying from the ground go to leviticus chapter 17. leviticus 17 are y'all with me this morning leviticus 17. [Music] this is what i'm talking about again i'm saying stuff and then i'm actually going back and reading it here and backing it up for you okay but leviticus 17 he talks about blood being sacred here and um i mean even to the point of a man killing an animal if he didn't bring part of that as a sacrifice to the temple he would be cut off from among the people let's just read from verse 1 here it says then the lord spake unto moses saying speak unto aaron and his sons and to all the children of israel and say unto them this is the thing which the lord commanded saying what man so ever there be of the house of israel that kills an ox or a lamb or a goat in the camp or that killeth it outside the camp
and he does not bring it unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation to offer an offering unto the lord before the tabernacle of the lord blood shall be imputed unto that man and he that shed blood that man shall be cut off from among his people so i mean god was serious about this thing and and again i know this is old covenant and i'm going to show you where this transfers to the new but this was old covenant and he was just trying to get across to them blood is a serious thing to me it's a serious issue it can be used for a holy purpose or it can be used for an unholy purpose okay if it were not so and listen to me very closely if this were not so why does the devil push his people to commit animal and human sacrifice why does he require if you make a contract or a covenant with the devil or sell your soul to the devil it's always required that your signature be written on the piece of paper with your own blood blood covenants go back as far as mankind men they have to be broken by something stronger too but let's keep reading god is serious about this and i want you to skip down to verse seven well look at verse six he says and the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the lord at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation and burn the fat for a sweet savor unto the lord and they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils after whom they have gone a whoring this shall be a statute forever unto them throughout their generations well whenever you see that when god says something is a statute for ever then it's serious so what he's talking about here no more sacrifices to devils no more sacrifices to pagan gods right forever so this is something that applies forever let's keep reading then he talks about eating blood go to verse 10 and whatsoever man shall there be of the house of israel or of strangers that sojourn among you that eateth any manner of blood i will even set my face against that soul that eats blood and i will cut him off from among the people why for the life of the flesh is in the blood and i have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls for it is the blood that makes an atonement for your souls and then he said unto the children of israel no soul of you shall eat blood neither shall any stranger that so monk journeys among you shall eat blood now this was so important well let's skip down to verse 14. he says for it is is the life of all flesh the blood of it is for the life thereof now he talks about it defiling the land and other things but let's let's turn to
acts i want you to see how this carried over acts chapter 15. just laying a little groundwork here acts 15 when the great question arose now with the church under jesus do the men of israel still have to be circumcised to be saved and what rituals do we have to keep of the law to be saved and blah blah blah and there was there was great debate because remember all the first christians were jews and then when god took peter to the gentiles and the gentiles were were saved at cornelius house and then paul was commissioned to go to the gentiles and take the gospel all these questions come up what do the gentiles have to do right do they have to do these these old testament rituals and laws do they have to do them and you know to be saved and of course paul made it clear that you know and they they they did not but hang on a second in this in acts 15 is the council when they came together to settle this great debate all right do we have to be circumcised do we have to keep the feast now let me say this what came out of this was no we do not but here are the things that carry over you know we don't have to keep the sabbath on a certain day colossians tells us that we don't have to you know there's certain dietary things that we don't have to do anymore there's certain aspects of the ceremonial law because we're not required to sacrifice animals anymore because jesus died on that cross but there's certain things that carried over into the new testament that's like some people say well the oh about homosexuality well that stuff was old testament we are new testament now jesus died for everybody so homosexuals going to heaven too no homosexuality was talked about in the old testament it carried over into the new testament as a sin romans 1 first corinthians chapter 6 and so on so you look and see what did god carry over and if he carried it over then we better pay attention to it right so in acts 15 they came together and they asked this question and so they they wrote a letter and they sent it with paul to the rest of the churches and let's see let's go down to i don't want to read all of this you can read chapter 15 uh for yourself later um but down let's go down to verse um 24. well we'll just start at 22. that's where the letter starts to end up he said then it pleased the apostles and elders with the whole church to send chosen men of their comp of their own company to antioch with paul barnabas judas sir named barcebus and silas chief men among the brethren and they wrote letters by them after this manner the apostles and elders and brethren sent greeting unto the brethren which are in of the gentiles in antioch and syria and silicia for as much as we have heard they are certain that went out from us
have troubled you with words subverting your soul saying you must be circumcised and keep the law to whom we gave no such commandment it seemed good unto us being assembled with one accord to send chosen men unto you with our beloved barnabas and paul men that have hazarded their lives for the name of the lord jesus christ who we have sent therefore judas and silas who shall also tell you the same things by mouth for for it seemed good to who the holy ghost and to us to lay no greater burden than these necessary things that you abstain from meats offered to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication which covers all sexual sin that word porneia covers all sexual sin from premarital sex to incest to homosexuality every bit of it so he says that you that you uh and for fornication from which if you keep yourselves you will do where do well so i wanted you to see that this issue of blood defiling the person this is why in most rituals mayan rituals satanic rituals of this day drinking blood is part of it satan is so crazy and taking over the media and so uh this whole thing with this is why you see all these these vampire things now twilight and true blood and all these this crazy stuff about vampires and what is it all about drinking blood they gotta drink blood they gotta drink blood god said this is an abomination okay some people say it's fiction no in a satanic ritual in a satanic black mass you have to drink the blood of whatever sacrificed so don't tell me it's fiction no it's a picture of what really goes on in the occult world they believe they get their power from satan by the blood they shed and by the blood they consume the mayans used to kill used to burn someone as a sacrifice they used to burn them to the point they almost died then they would lay them on the altar cut their heart out while and hold it in the air while it was still beating and then eat parts of it because they believe that life and power see and the reason they believe they got power from the gods was because when satan saw them do this he gave them more power he manipulated them into something he knew would defile them their families their land put a curse on them put a curse on their generations even to the third and fourth generation he knew what he was doing and so he would back off and let their crops prosper instead of destroying them you see what i'm saying
he manipulated the situation but blood had to be involved when you think our nation is so crazy about abortion i can't even fathom the folks that try to justify pulling a baby all the way out of the womb that's eight or nine months along and sticking surgical scissors into the back of their neck and killing them this is how evil we have become and we think we're better than the mayans just because we do it a nice sterile hospital that you can get staff and everything else in just because we do it with white robes on it's okay or because the law says it's okay no blood's being shed curses upon entire generation you know something god showed me about 10 years ago when the columbine thing happened i shared this with some of you god showed me he said is reaping now what it said with all these these shootings in schools and kids and gangs rising up again you know gangs almost disappeared in in the 50s with david wilkerson i mean there was just a move gangs almost i mean they've always been with us but they almost disappeared but then all of a sudden man in the 90s especially the crips and the bloods and all this and these gangs began to rise and and terrorize and kill each other and then we had all these school shootings in the 80s and the 90s you're like what in the world's going on well of course a lot of those school shootings were satanists going into the schools shooting them i mean they were students but the lord told me real plainly he said america has been murdering their children by the thousands by the millions and now the ones that survive are murdering us we reap what we sow that's why jesus has to come back churches and true christian people true born-again people that have authority and walk with god can do some cleansing of themselves do some cleansing of some land but but every the people the wickedness continues and here's what's so bad now the homosexuals claim to be christians and in churches now christian women are having abortions left and right christian women what used to be primarily just outside the church is now normal inside the church and that's the final straw once once that wickedness gets in up among us it's over it's done you know sodom and gomorrah came to an end and god only found one family halfway
righteous lot's house was the loose last little place of righteousness in the whole place and the homosexuals wanted in there to rape angels and god said that's it enough we're done when that when they want in to what's left the little bit of rights i mean there's homosexuals now demanding to be hired by churches to for the for the courts to make churches higher allow you know hire them as worship leaders and whatever else no friend i'll go to jail i'll go to jail over one issue because it's the truth do i hate homosexuals no we witness the one wednesday night had a had a long conversation it homosexuality is no different than fornication or idolatry or or adultery or anything else it's sin it's an abomination god hates it you have to admit that it's sin and then ask jesus to forgive you and turn away from it and then get the demons cast out of you that's what i told him i said i said he said i tried christianity and it didn't work i said let me ask you something did you ever truly admit that it was wrong and then find somebody who could cast those spirits of whoredoms and perversion and homosexuality out of you did you ever go through deliverance he said no i didn't i said then you never completed the christian journey you gave up and quit when it got hard i said guess what i was addicted to sexual sin too i was addicted to violence i was addicted to alcohol and drugs but you know what i didn't just keep following my natural incarnations i turned to jesus and i said lord it's sin forgive me wash me cleanse me and then lord break these chains of bondage in my life and i kept going after him until he set me free from it amen my god i told him he said he said it's just natural for men to want to do this i said well well men want to have sex with children too but that is horrendous sin and i said do you say that's bad and he said yeah i said so you say you got morality to hear i'm just saying you got to have morality over here you see you set it's god's standard or it's your standard somebody ought to say amen to that i feel something on that let me talk to christians for a minute us christians hear about the blood of jesus let's let's just shift gears a little bit the blood of jesus turn to first peter oh man i thank god he shed his blood from me when and that he loved me and had patience with me i shuddered to think how many times i could have
gotten high or drunk at a party how many times i got behind the wheel so drunk so high i don't even didn't even know who i was and drove a car and how i i remember one time passing out at the wheel and god's sovereignly waking me up i know it was him now but i think about that i shudder to think i could have went to a party had a good time and woke up in hell burning forever and i thank god for my aunts and my grandmother my great grandmother that prayed and prayed and prayed for me until my eyes were opened to the truth um i want to talk about let's go to the blood talk about the blood of jesus here all this blood that's defiled everything god had to do something special but i want you to see what he calls it he's speaking to christians here peter is first peter chapter one let's go down to verse actually let's let's go to chapter one let's go to verse one and two and then we'll skip over and read what i want to read because he talks about the blood here as well he says peter an apostle of jesus christ to the stranger scattered throughout pontius galatia cappadocia asia and bithynia uh bethania rather he said elect according to the foreknowledge of god the father through sanctification of the spirit unto obedience and the sprinkling of the blood of jesus christ grace be unto you and peace be multiplied and drop down to verse 13 he says wherefore speaking to christians he says wherefore gird up the loins of your mind and be sober and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of jesus christ as obedient children not fashioning yourselves according to your former lust in your ignorance but as he that has called you is holy so be holy in all manner of conversation because it is written be holy for i am holy for if you call on the father who without respect of persons judges according to every man's work if you pass this the time of your sojourning here in fear and he says for as much as you know that you are not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers but with the precious blood of christ as a lamb without blemish and without spot who was verily for ordained before the foundation of the world but was manifest in these last time for you who by him do believe in god that raised him from the dead and gave him glory that your faith and hope might be in god seeing that you have purified your souls in what obeying the truth through the spirit unto unfeened love of the brethren see that you love one another with a pure
heart fervently being born again not of corruptible seed but incorruptable by the word of god which lives and abides forever i want you to see the bible calls it the precious blood of christ right precious you know what that word means in the greek it's the word time it means priceless ever heard of the hope diamond is such a large diamond and it's so perfect and pure but it's so huge there is not enough money or wealth in the world to buy it you couldn't buy it you couldn't put its worth compared to all the other diamonds prepar compared to the amount of diamonds prepared he said there's no price and yet that's something in creation that's something earthly let me tell you the blood of jesus is precious now i want to show you this the attitude of christians it's really not we don't really count the blood of jesus precious and holy as we ought to we say we do but i'm gonna show you we don't and this is how we don't if we take sin lightly if we take the attitude that a lukewarm half-hearted halfway rebel is still going to go to heaven and the blood of jesus covers it i'm gonna show you we have an attitude about the blood of jesus christ that is wrong and god calls it unholy okay let me say this the blood of jesus is so precious listen to me that you as a christian me as a christian we shouldn't have to use it very often to wash us of some filthy mess of this world you hear me now here's the love and mercy of god the love and mercy of god is if no matter what we have done or fallen into as a christian if we return to him and confess it and forsake it and want freedom from it he'll wash us again but let me tell you something some christians have the attitude that's what god owes me it's like god has to forgive me because he's merciful and kind and all
that really if that's your attitude you're already in trouble i can't remember what the scripture is somebody's gonna have to look this one up for me but it's in psalms and i think it's 130 i think i'll have to look it up i can't read but it's just coming to my it says that there is forgiveness with you the psalmist was praying he said there is forgiveness with you that you may be feared and i'm like it sounds like those two things don't even go together forgiveness being forgiven but yet fear the fear of god no it's this we ought to tremble that we even need the blood of jesus one more time to wash us that's how precious it is do you weigh something that's precious do you take something that's precious lightly and flippantly no you go wow god that's why man if if if we're ever if you ever fall into something or you're into something horrible you know that god didn't want you in yet god loves you and wants you to come to him and confess that thing and be be cleansed from it but don't take that issue in that moment lightly as if god owes that let's let's let me prove to you what i'm saying go to hebrews chapter 10. let me say this when we start loving what god loves and hating what he hates and counting holy what he counts holy counting unholy what he can that's when he's pleased amen first step of being close to god is just agreeing with him amen can two walk together except they be agreed amos 3 3 right everybody with me in hebrews chapter 10 i love to look at the context of things this whole thing is talking about the sacrifice of jesus and then and the comparing the sacrifice to the birth the animal sacrifices and how much better jesus is matter of fact let's let's look up let's look um goodness i don't even know where i want to start verse 4 he says for it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins wherefore when he cometh into the world he saith sacrifice and offering you would not but a body you have prepared
me in burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you have had no pleasure and then i said lo and i come in the volume of the book it is written of me to do your will o god above when he said sacrifice an offering and burnt offerings for sin you would has not he said and neither had pleasure in them which were offered by the law and of course he's talking about how jesus took on a body look at verse 10 he said by the witch we are sanctified through the offering of the body of jesus christ once and for all and he talks about him taking away sins now let's look down to verse 19. speaking to christians he says having therefore brethren boldness to enter into the holiest or the holy place of god's presence by the blood of jesus can you come any way you want to no what does he say by a new and living way which he has consecrated for us through the veil that is to say his flesh meaning you've come through the blood of jesus you've come through crucifying your flesh let him wash the sins away by repentance and obedience in the sprinkling of the blood and you come into the presence of god into the holy of holies and then he says in having a high priest over the house of god let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water why did he say that what flowed out of jesus side when that when that roman soldier stuck his spirit said water and what blood flowed that's the water and that's the blood we must be cleansed by that proceeded from him but then he's still speaking to christians he says let us and we know he's speaking to christians when he said us because he included himself right let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering for he is faithful that promised and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is but exhorting one another and so much more as you see the day approaching now look closely at these next verses for if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth there remains no more sacrifice for sins but a certain fearful looking to of judgment and fiery indignation which shall devour the adversaries he that despised moses law died without mercy under two or three witnesses of how much sore or worse punishment supposedly shall he be thought worthy who has trodden under foot the son of god and counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified an unholy thing and has done despite or abuse to the spirit of grace what is he saying here let me break this down he's saying christians
if we sin willfully let's break that down i broke it down in my book but i'm gonna break it down this morning if we sin the word sin there is a present tense greek verb which means ongoing continuous action taking place in the present so he said if we're sinning habitually practicing sin there's a difference between committing a sin and living in a sin and i've said that many times but if we're practicing sin fornication adultery pornography idolatry hatred unforgiveness wrath you know violence if we're sins that are unto death if we're practicing these things as christians with the attitude the word willfully there in the greek means voluntarily what are you if you're a volunteer you are doing something without expecting payment right so he's saying if we sin just practice it don't care just keep doing it i know people that say i'm a christian but they're getting drunk every weekend no you're a habitual drunkard you are practicing drunkenness so if you say i'm i can do this without getting paid back for it god's payback willfully for if we sin willfully it can literally be translated like for if we practice sin habitually without believing god's going to pay us back how many people you ever heard well jesus the blood of jesus covers me i'm good and they do what they want no that is that is counting the blood of jesus an unholy thing y'all still with me i'm this i'm ending on this one right here okay i just want you to get this he says for if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth what does the word knowledge mean in the greek it means an understanding gained by experience so if we doubt he's talking to christians when he said we i mean karen if i say we i'm talking about me and you right we christians include and then he says what if we sin in this fashion if this is the attitude we have about sin flip it i can do what i want get away with what i want anna yesterday was telling me some horror stories about her experience with a big church in town i won't name it years ago but i won't name it but i'll say this no concept of dealing with sin in the camp christians people calling themselves christians have no idea what it really means to be a christian right but if we sin willfully after we've received the knowledge of the truth who's the truth did not jesus say i am the way the truth and the life no man comes to the father but by me john 14 6 right
on the truth understanding gained by experience how do we know that this experience was truly being born again and having their sins washed away because down a little later in verse 29 he says wherewith you were sanctified he talked about the blood of jesus wherewith you were saying the word sanctified means purged cleansed made holy you you used to be that way he's saying to them but now you're not you've gone back to those things what he says of how much worse punishment so you suppose he that be thought worthy is trodden under foot the son of god counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified an unholy thing now let's stop right there counted the blood the word counted there you know what it means it means to think it's just your mental attitude all right and here's what's interesting the word unholy thing there it sounds rough it was like what christian would count the blood of jesus or think the blood of jesus an unholy thing the translation is a little tricky there because we don't really catch it the full weight of it you go well no christian would count the blood of jesus an unholy thing no but this is how they do it the word unholy thing there means is it's koias let me let me get it here it's the greek word yeah koinoths 4862 in the strongs here's the definition common literally it means shared by all oh what is it what is it what am i getting out there if if you think as a christian if your mental is that the blood of jesus is just kind of indiscriminately on any on on everybody you know what i mean how many how many people y'all everybody nod at me or raise your hand and say something say amen or something you've heard christians say well the blood covers me i'm okay i can do you know you you confront him about something or you're talking about stuff oh the buddha i'm forgiven my sins let me tell you one of the biggest lies that's ever been told by preachers and by christians my sins are forgiven past present and future what you don't have to apply the blood of jesus to your life if you fall away or if you're in a habitual sid you don't have to apply the blood of jesus and repent that's counting the blood of jesus an unholy thing you have made it common that any old person can have the blood of jesus on their
life no matter how they live and god says it's like counting it an unholy thing it's precious it's holy you should approach it with with appreciation but also with feared trembling when you have to have forgiveness amen i'm talking about humility and brokenness god said to jeremiah he was looking for men and women who what trembled at his word you respect it so much you're in all of it so much you tremble and go wow god the fact you would do this for me i can't tell you how many times in prayer that i just think about my past life for a second not not in a way of wanting to go back i'm talking about it comes into my mind the things that i did and i shudder and i go god i did not deserve the blood of jesus to be shed for me i was horrible horrible that's the way you approach that's humility brokenness i know i'm forgiven i don't walk around in condemnation okay i don't walk around i'm horrible but i realize man you don't really understand mercy if you don't understand the penalty you were under and what had to be done so that you could be forgiven it's not automatic you have to take faith one more verse i just want to read first john i promise i promise promise promise i'll stop right here first john it's a big if word right here in this scripture i'm going to read big if first john chapter one verse 5 this then is the message which you have heard of him and declare unto you that god is light and in him is no darkness at all if we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness we lie and do not the truth but if we walk in the light as he is in the light we have fellowship one with another and the blood of jesus christ his son cleanses us from all sin if we walk in the light the blood is not for everybody the blood is not just poured over the
human race and everybody's going to heaven the blood is not just poured over people who claim jesus is lord even jesus said many will say to me lord lord have we not prophesied in the name and cast out demons and and done many wonderful works to say i never knew you depart from me you worker of iniquity everybody that calls on jesus everybody says i believe in the cross i believe in the blood it doesn't mean that they have sprinkled the blood of jesus on their hearts soul mind and bodies and be cleansed they have to walk in the light and the light of god is the word of god psalm 119 thy word is a layup unto my feet a light unto my path if if if these people like rob bell and and the guy who wrote the novel the shack william young these people who are trying to promote this universal reconciliation or this this you know universalist thinking that jesus died on the cross and he shed his blood for everyone so everyone's saved whether they know it or not or ever believe in jesus or ever repent and all that foolishness lies it's counting the blood unholy common saying it's for all it's not for all it's for those who believe and turn and walk in the light wow just this is just plain new testament christianity and yet this today most of these churches out here i would say 90 percent tell you this come here say this prayer say this prayer ask jesus invite jesus into your life bow your heads close your eyes raise your hand nobody will see say this little prayer and you're in and he will never leave you forsake you you're in forever liar false prophet false teacher lies that's no altar call never has been never will be i mean it's like a what that prayer is a magic formula to taking up your cross and following jesus wait a minute he said something about the way is narrow he said something about you know yeah they take scriptures out of context if you confess with your mouth the lord jesus believe in your heart that he raised you all you got to do is confess jesus all i got to do is say jesus no guess what he said the word i love it lord jesus if you call him lord but you don't do the things that he says then you're a liar and what you said out of your mouth was a lie and your life's a lie and everything else now if jesus is lord that means everything
nothing's more important not family not friends not not a boyfriend not nothing not sex not alcohol not party nothing amen but here's the good news and i know i read over it but i'm gonna say this the good news is the blood of jesus once we deal with the bad stuff the blood of jesus is there to let us enter into the very manifest presence of god see the true christian the obedient christian the one sprinkled with the blood gets to enter the holy place with him that is what's awesome that is what changes the world when we get his presence and that glory in us all around us and they start going you know what i feel that power in your life i had people tell me that you just get around me and i feel it and i'm not talking about i'm talking about even years ago my friends two of my friends three of them actually that are now saved in ministers all of them said when i saw you there was such light in your eyes and such a power on you that it scared me but i knew you had been changed from heaven and all of them got saved and all of them are two of them are in the ministry and one of them's going in the ministry my college roommate he and i have connected back on facebook and he said man when you visited me i was gone for a year i was at troy for a year i left four years when i got rededicated the lord filled with the holy ghost on fire the right stuff and i went back to see him at the fraternity house at sigma chi fraternity house that he was my roommate in the frat house he said man he said i didn't really he said i'd been a christian when i was younger and i'd walked away and he was bad i mean his nickname in the fraternity was mad dog that's because he and i used to guzzle mad dog 2020 hot all right we wouldn't even chill it we just drank it down and shoot it with vodka okay we were crazy people insane all right go go do that go get on a motorcycle and drive 100 miles
