preparing you for the second coming of Jesus Christ you're listening to prophecy Quake on Blog Talk Radio [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] good evening everyone we welcome you to this edition of Prophecy Quake I'm your host Pastor Dean Odell along with my co-host pastor Kevin Wilkinson we are live here in East Central Alabama it is June 13th 2017 already uh but we welcome you tonight we welcome those watching by Facebook live YouTube uh and all the different uh mediums we have here Blog Talk Radio uh mixler and uh anyway we welcome everyone tonight uh we're going to be talking about the baptism of the Holy Spirit tongues and the power gifts tonight now this is uh something that I've been teaching in the scriptures from the scriptures uh for 30 years and not just teaching it um this is a an issue that I think a lot of people try to teach on when they've never experienced these gifts and they don't even know what they're talking about yet they try to teach what they don't know and they try to lead where they won't go but that's not the case here uh 30 years ago in fact it was back in June of 1987 I rededicated my life to the Lord finally came to full repentance and uh got my life right with Jesus and he called me to the ministry and shortly thereafter and I really believe it was still within the month of month of June or July but it was shortly thereafter after true repentance in my life after I truly made Jesus Lord of my whole life and turned from my sin and uh and truly you know said that's it Lord I'm going I'm going to follow you I'm going to do what you want me to do I'm going to leave the fornication the drugs the uh drunkenness the party life the modeling career the being rich and famous uh goal that was right there before me I'm going to leave all that and I'm going to do what you want me to do Jesus and uh the Lord called me to the ministry but but he first after you know after repentance after truly being right with him knowing that I was born again washed in the blood of the Lamb he led me to Acts chapter 2 and then to the baptism of the holy spirit with the evidence of speaking other tongues as the Bible teaches now we're going to get into all of those scriptures tonight and I want to say this at the outset of this show tonight please um pay pay close attention pull your Bibles out follow along uh we're going to dispel all of
the false teaching all of the misunderstandings uh the error and and really a lot of intellectual um a lack of I should say intellectual integrity and and proper hermeneutics even in many Bible schools and seminaries and pastors and and even entire entire denominations who are not honest about what the Bible teaches about is and how to receive the baptism of the holy spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues and how to move on and operate in the other eight gifts of the holy spirit so we're going to try to cover this tonight but I want to also let you know that you can um through Facebook or through Blog Talk Radio we would love to have your questions or comments and we will try to get them in as much as possible tonight hopefully we will answer all the questions um part of tonight too you can go to Dean o.org uh Kevin's going to put up uh a link to a free um ebook you could say or PDF book that we have I wrote back in 2007 entitled tongues of fire and this it's a short little booklet it goes through the scriptures on uh the baptism of the Holy Spirit about how you know what the Bible says about that it is for today it is for all believers uh the gift of tongues how why why tongues why do you need to speak in tongues why should you and so it's all there in written form again I've I've had it there that's 2007 it's 2017 so this that little book's uh 10 years old but many people have read it and been helped by it but we're going to go through the scriptures tonight I want to say this and make this as crystal clear as I possibly can because so many people hear things that are not said not ever not once in 30 years in 30 years of preaching and teaching have I ever said or implied that you must speak in tongues to be saved I do not believe that this is a completely separate issue uh I know there's a Pentecostal denomination out there that teaches that you're not saved unless you speak in other tongues Supernatural tongues I do not believe that do not believe it is a requirement for salvation um it is something not that you have to do it's something you get to do you should desire to do H because it's biblical and because it can help you greatly this gift uh in your private devotional Life As We will see and to also with coupled with the gift of interpretation as Paul taught is it is equivalent to the gift of Prophecy that we should all uh seek after so we're going to start tonight on the baptism of the Holy Spirit tongues and the power gifts we are going to start in the book of Acts chapter 2 we're going to read there and try to dispel one of the the first arguments that you hear all the time and this is one that I've been hearing a lot lately but it is a false teaching and that is
is that the gift of tongues is only it is only known languages in the world it is only the tongues of men it's only known languages in the world that you did not uh learn by study and practice but that just God gave you like say the supernatural ability to speak French or to speak Spanish or to speak Chinese um and in though that's part of it part of the gift of tongues is that that's not where it stops and that's where a lot of the false teachers out there the cessationist and all the different ones they will try to say well the gift of tongues is own own languages well I'm going to show you that just because Acts chapter 2 talks about God's supernaturally giving known languages that's not the only place the gift of tongues is talked about in fact 1 Corinthians chap 12 talks about diverse kinds of tongues or different kinds of unknown or Supernatural tongues and so we'll talk about that there are the tongues of men and the tongues of angels according to first uh Corinthians chapter 13 there are tongues that men some men can understand for instance if God gave me the ability I've never learned to speak Chinese but if if I was in a situation and the Holy Spirit came upon me and and I spoke in in other tongues and I spoke in Chinese and some Chinese people heard and understood what I was saying you know that's awesome but the Bible also talks about 1 Corinthians 14 the tongues that no man can understand and we're going to look at that in a second so let's go to Acts chapter 2 let's read this this is after the death uh of Jesus Christ on the cross his atoning death for our sins of course he went down into hell and took the keys of hell and death from the devil but he was in the grave uh three days and three nights he arose from the dead physically and after this he appeared to his disciples for 40 days and then he told them he said go wait for the promise of the father and he told them he said you will be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence he told them again he said you will be endued with power from on high in Luke chap 24 so you know he he was speaking to people already saved already born again and uh he tells them go wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the father there's more and so I want to say this to you you're going to see a consistent um theme as we go through this that salvation is not where God wants us to stop that's the beginning being born again most important thing uh in our lives is to be saved to know that Jesus has come in that we've been born again it's a supernatural experience that we receive because we believe the gospel that Jesus died for our sins that he rose from the dead we confess him as Lord with our mouth we we repent we we ask for forgiveness of our sins and we turn from them and the Bible says when we're born again the Holy Spirit comes
in the spirit of Jesus Christ and he he quickens us he regenerates us there is a supernatural movement in us to make us uh truly saved truly born again but if that was enough if that was all that they needed then why would Jesus after being with them 40 days after his resurrection after breathing on them as when he appeared to them in the beginning you know you go to the end of the Gospel of John and it says he appeared to them uh while they were all me meeting together all the apostles and it says he breathed on them and said receive the Holy Spirit then later he tells them you know 40 days later he tells them no you go to Jerusalem and wait for the promise there's more there's a baptism of the Holy Spirit there is a an enduement an outpouring an anointing of power that's going to come upon you and you're going to need this and so you know I think about it at that Jesus Ascension there were 500 witnesses there that saw Jesus uh Ascend into heaven but there was only 120 that obeyed and went to Jerusalem to the upper room on the day of Pentecost and that's where we're going to pick up reading here in Acts chapter 2 Acts chapter 2 verse one and it says this and when the day of Pentecost was fully come they were all with one Accord in one place and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing Mighty Wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting and there appeared to them clothing tongues like as a fire and it set upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance and there were dwelling at Jerusalem devout men out of every nation under heaven and now when this was noised abroad the multitude came together and were confounded because that every man heard them speak in his own language and they were all amazed and marveled saying one to another behold are not all these which speak galileans and how hear we every man in our own tongue wherein we were born parthians mes elamites dwellers of Mesopotamia and in Judea and capus and Pontius and Asian FIA and pamilia and Egypt and parts of Libya and sirene and strangers of Rome and Jews and prelit creit and Arabians we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God and they were All Amazed and were in doubt saying one to another what meaneth this and others mocking said these men are uh full of new wine so here you see very clearly that 120 were filled with the Holy Spirit Jesus called this you will be baptized with the holy spirit so the baptism of the holy spirit is a unique thing it is a second experience after salvation that all believers should seek and should receive and here in this particular one you know a lot of people want to focus on the 12 apostles but hear me um it wasn't just the 12 of
course one one was gone Judas was gone so there was 11 Apostles and and of course they added Mias so there were 12 Apostles and then there were these other you know just dozens and dozens of people there right you know 108 people more and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit baptized in the Holy Spirit and began to speak in Supernatural tongues it's a supernatural utterance the Holy Spirit gave them the utterance to speak supernaturally languages that they did not know they had not learned it was a supernatural sign a supernatural miracle and this is how the church began and and of course just like with tongues the issue of tongues today you have people going you sitting around a maze wondering what in the world does this mean what is this crazy gibberish what is this crazy you know people just talking in all kind of different languages and I don't understand them and then you have people who Mock and say oh these people are drunk or they're fools or they're stupid or they're you know the worst thing that a lot of people say is that tongues or the gift of tongues is of the devil but Peter goes on to say you know this is uh these men are not drunk as you suppose and he begins to preach now I'm not going to read the entire chapter here of Acts 2 but as Peter preaches uh uh the gospel to them them and God used this to gather a crowd he used this commotion of tongues uh to gather a crowd that to lead them to repentance and salvation so God I think about this God God you the first sign or wonder that God did in the new church to bring a crowd together uh so that they could receive the Gospel he used the gift of tongues to bring them together um that ought to be powerful enough uh right there that's why Paul talked about tongues being a sign uh to unbelievers um he was I think going back to this event that how it got people's attention that there's something different going on with this group of people we need to check it out you some people thinks you know they don't know what it means and others think they're crazy and drunk or high or on drugs but God used the situation to draw a crowd Peter preaches the gospel tells them they have murdered the Prince of Life by Wicked hands he preaches this you know this the scorching message uh that they murdered Jesus but he rose from the dead and and so anyway you get this he's preaching to these thousands of people that gathered around and he he finishes this and we're going to go down to verse 36 this is acts 236 therefore it says let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made that same Jesus whom ye have crucified both Lord and Christ now when they heard this they were prick in their heart and said unto Peter and to the rest of the Apostles men and Brethren what shall we do now here's the Apostle Peter's instructions to these unsaved people convicted by the
Holy Spirit they've heard the gospel he says repent that means confess turn from your sins conf you know truly repent repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins now what baptism is he talking about there he says repent and be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin so you have to repent of sin confess Jesus you need to be baptized in water it's an important part of your your declaring your public testimony that youve accepted Jesus as your lord and savior and then he says this and so after you do this after you repent after you have accepted Jesus as your lord and savior you've been baptized to show that public confession of your faith water baptism he says and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost the gift the gift the gift the baptism is the gift the baptism that is accompanied by the gift of tongues Supernatural tongues he says you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost for the promise is unto you and to your children and to all them that are far off even as many as the Lord Our God shall call so right here for those who say that this is not for today that this baptism the Holy Spirit the gift of tongues and the other gifts of the holy spirit for those who say it's not for today the Bible says the exact opposite so people like John MacArthur people who are just adamant that this experience that this step in the Christian walk in the Christian journey is not for today they are completely going against scripture so I don't care how many I don't care how big their church is I don't care if they how many Seminary degrees they have I don't care uh how many people you know what size their their budget is or how big their TV Ministry is if they say that the baptism of the holy spirit with the evidence of speaking of tongues in other tongues unknown tongues Supernatural tongues if that's not for today then they're they're completely going against this p message here now again as I started this teaching tonight this little bible study we're going through tonight I've heard preachers who deny this is for today they say it was done away with you know some say it was done away with after the you know the first century and the apostles others say and we'll get into this when the scripture the New Testament was finished and and brought together with the Old Testament and the Bible was canonized they say that was that was the end of it but we'll I'll show you that that's not true but the argument that says well it's only known tongues or known languages in the world is that what we see in scripture so I
want to just deal with that first tonight because um that seems to be the new argument that I'm hearing and i' I've been hearing it quite a bit lately so first thing I want you to look at let's go to 1 Corinthians chapter 14 um we'll look there and and we're going to be back and forth in in these different passages about this subject well let's let's look at at 1 Corinthians uh 13 first um and what's amazing is that these alleged Bible scholars and Seminary graduates ought to know these things uh because they're plainly written here in the Bible but again if it's not what their denomination wants or what they think might make them look silly you know they're not willing to be a fool for Christ really they just they want to build up reputations and make everybody think they're smarter than everybody else but um If you deny the word of God If you deny you know accept some parts and throw out other parts um I I have very little respect for you I don't care how many degrees you have behind your name but 1 Corinthians 13 here's the first sign that it's not just the tongues of known uh or known tongues in the world or known languages in the world here it is this is uh 1 Corinthians 13:1 he says though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and have not charity I become a sounding brass or a tinkling symbol so here he makes it very clear though I speak with the tongues of men or of angels now I don't know about any of you but obviously he's putting a difference between the languages the word tongues means languages he's putting a difference between the languages of men and the languages of Angels or the language of heaven so clearly here there's a difference between the two so we have diverse kinds of tongues the tongues of men the languages of men the tongues of Angels the languages of Heaven now he takes it even further when we get into chapter 14 and let's go over to 1 Corinthians 14 and read this um he says here verse one follow after charity or Love and Desire spiritual gifts this means to earnestly desire to covet to lust for them you should desire the spiritual gifts tremendously in your life he he goes on to say he says uh but rather that you may prophesy for he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men but unto God for no man understandeth him how be it in the spirit he speaketh Mysteries now let's just stop right there a lot of people get get been out of shape because they go okay yeah you know and I had I had some recently do this to me well old Dean he doesn't know that that the word the the words that are in italics in the King James aren't actually there they were added for clarity it no I know that so here's the deal we can take out if if if if the word unknown being added for clarity uh by the King James transl if that bothers you well then okay let's
just take it out the reason we take it we can leave it there that it's actually accurate is because he tells you about he that speaketh in a tongue speaketh not unto men okay so right here he's talking about the gift of tongues and he's saying the tongues that I'm talking about the supernatural tongues he said speaketh not unto men but unto God for no man understandeth him how be it in the spirit he speaketh Mysteries so for those of you out there who try to say that the gift of tongues the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gift of tongues is only known languages in the world you have a problems here you have 1 Corinthians 13 the tongues of the tongues of angels and you have here him saying here that there's there's these unknown tongues that speak not to unto any man now Kevin's going to put this up and and what's interesting is is this this is your uh Greek uh Strong's Concordance Strong's Greek dictionary also the's Greek Lexicon both say the same thing get this that when he says no man understandeth him that's what it means not even one so he's not even close to talking about a language that is known in the world he says no man not even one understands these unknown tongues I'm talking about and then he he even expands that for he said then he says no man for no man understandeth him no man understands so that means you could bring in a you know a man from China a man from Spain a man from Mexico a man from uh you know France a man from the Middle East Africa you could bring in anybody and he says no man would understand none zero not one so we're talking about something Beyond just the known languages of the world here and he and then he says in the spirit he's speaking Mysteries Mysteries hidden things secret things things that no one knows and let's keep reading he says but he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification and exhortation and comfort he that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself but he that that prophesieth edifieth the church so he's saying he that speaks in an unknown tongue that's speaking in this language he says he's speaking he's edifying he's charging himself like a battery he's he's building his spiritual strength that's not a bad thing folks everybody tries to push it aside and go oh but we should rather should prophesy
I'm going to tell you something if you're ashamed of tongues you're not prophesying you're not operating in the gift of Prophecy because if you're ashamed of tongues you're ashamed of the word of God and you're quenching the spirit and you're speaking against the things of the spirit so don't think you're going to operate in the gift of Prophecy but he's telling you here look tongues there's a purpose for the gift of tongues and it's primarily for our prayer lives for our devotion life um and yes there's a time for it to be used in a public service uh to be interpreted and when you have tongues and interpretation not translation interpretation because n none of us can translate you know the the languages of angels I don't know if Kevin Kevin can't do it I can I don't know anybody that you I don't know if there's a book out there the languages of angels that we have can learn to translate how they talk but um he says it real plainly here that uh you know this is something that's good for you I I don't know anybody I don't know any Christians who would say you know I really don't need any self spiritual edification strengthening I don't need that I I don't I don't need any more spiritual strength than I already have thank you very much if if that's you you got a problem and see that's one of the things that look that got my attention in all this when I was you know thank God I wasn't brainwashed and indoctrinated by uh denominations and churches and uh and seminaries when I was just reading the Bible as a newly rededicated uh newly called young man um and I just would read this and I go you know if if God said they they needed to go to Jerusalem and wait for something else after they were saved and after they repented and that it had to do with being baptized filled with the Holy Spirit and the initial evidence of that being the gift of tongues if that's something they needed when they got to walk with Jesus you know when we're talking about the the 12 they got to walk with him for three years plus and and be taught by him and trained by him and and and to be in his presence and experience the healings and the Miracles and the and and all of his teaching and if it if they needed more my God I I knew I needed more I didn't get that I didn't get three years with Jesus In the Flesh standing in front of me and teaching me and training me and getting to see how to do everything and how he taught everything and man that that that would have been unbelievable that would have been mind-blowing but he tells them I mean think about that Kevin think about that you guys he tells the guys he spent all that time with train them laid hands on them prayed for them anointed them and sent them out to heal the sick and cast out demons and and and all of that and he tells them you know what there's something more you need go
go to Jerusalem and wait and so Paul goes on to talk about this and he talks about yeah in church he said I he said I look at verse 5 he said I would or I wish that you all spake with tongues but rather that you prophesied for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues except he interpret that the church may receive edifying so he's saying yeah the gift of Prophecy is better for the public church service than tongues but he says but except unless you have tongues and interpretation of tongues and then that is the equivalent of Prophecy in the church so he's not I I love that these people try to condemn it like Paul was saying that tongues is bad and you shouldn't do it in church that's not what he was saying here not at all but people love to twist and take things out of context so that they can dismiss what they either don't understand what they are embarrassed of or what they you know uh what their Bible school or their denomination does didn't teach them or doesn't accept but he goes on and he says now Brethren if I come to you speaking with tongues what shall I profit you except I speak to you either by Revelation or by knowledge or by prophesying or by Doctrine and then he goes in these are some of the passages that they take out of context to try to malign the gift of tongues but let's let's skip down here you can read it all for yourself but he skips down and he says um verse 13 wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret for if I pray in an unknown tongue my spirit prayeth but my understanding is unfruitful and what is it then I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the understanding also I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the understanding also so he's sitting there saying hey I we need to do both we need to pray with our known language we need to pray in the spirit and I and I just love it that you know he he lets us know hey um you're speaking directly to God you're speaking Mysteries you're speaking and I believe we're praying when we're praying in the spirit in tongues those tongues of angels those unknown tongues that no man understands I believe that we're praying things that are according to the perfect will of God the holy spirit is basically bypassing the carnal mind and our own understanding and our own thoughts and our own preconceived ideas he's bypassing all that and he's praying through us the Mysteries the hidden things the things that we don't know about the will of God for our lives for other people's lives we're praying the perfect prayer and we're Also spiritually strengthening ourselves so there's there's nothing bad here about this now I've I've been around I've been around I've dealt with people who came in to church and started speaking in tongues
that were not of God I'm not saying all speaking in tongues is of God but folks like I've said so many times about everything if there's a counterfeit $1 bill there's a real $1 bill if there's a counterfeit $100 bill there's is a real $100 bill and just because somebody might come in and give me a counterfeit $100 bill that doesn't mean I'm done with money for the rest of my life just because there's a counterfeit I'm not throwing out the baby with the bath water I'm not throwing it all out I'm not dismissing it because I've seen people misuse or abuse or teach error I'm not going to throw out the truth of God's word just because some people got in the ditch and there you know the road has two ditches and one is a complete denial of of the gifts of the Spirit the other one is a total misuse and misunderstanding saying like you got to speak in tongues to be saved or you know just crazy stuff there's there's extremes on both sides but that should not keep us from reading the Bible and rightly dividing the word of God and not dismissing what God has to say about but but taking it seriously and seeking him and pursuing him until we receive everything that he desires of us now let me go to one more passage since we're dealing with this issue of tongues known tongues known languages and unknown languages of the languages of Heaven of angels um let's go to Mark chapter 16 uh Kevin's going to have the the definition two definitions uh from this passage but we're going to go to Mark 16 we're going to read 15- 20 again this is your Bible this is Jesus speaking not Pastor Dean I've quot this passage so many times I you know I've rocked uh I love messing with uh Jehovah Witnesses when they come to my door I love this passage right here because I ask them because you know they think their church is it and uh you know it's a cult they don't believe Jesus Christ is God In the Flesh and they don't believe in hell and so I mean it's just a total cult the Watchtower and all their false prophecies and um it's just amazing people are you know locked into that their false Jesus a false gospel uh of you know of uh Jehovah Witness but I love messing with him because I ask him I said well let me read something to you and I get them their little bible out their little New World Translation and this is even in it so they can't dismiss it because they you know their their leaders didn't take that out they should have taken this part out but I start talking about you know these signs shall follow them that believe casting out demons Healing The Sick speaking with new tongues I said these things happen in your church and they look at each other you know there's always an older one or a more astute Jehovah Witness with a trainee and they they always look at each other and they go well no and I said well it does in mine so why do I need yours you got a powerless
religion why do I need yours and boy that just really throws them off try it sometimes it's fun you can do it with uh you can do it with quite a few of these crazy Cults that are out there but let's read this this is Matthew I mean Mark 16 I'm sorry Mark 16:1 15-20 we're going to read this and he Jesus said unto them go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to Every Creature he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved but he that believeth not shall be damned and these signs shall follow them that believe in my name shall they cast out devils and they shall speak with new tongues they shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them and they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover so then after the Lord had spoken unto them he was received up into heaven and sat on the right hand of God and they went forth and preached everywhere the Lord working with them and confirming the word with signs following so here he says these signs verse 17 shall follow them that believe now Kevin's going to put the word up here the sign the word sign in the Greek language here means miraculous Supernatural sign token um something and and i' I've got it pulled up here let me pull it up on uh my phone here uh let's let's look this up it's it's seon and um this is what it says here it says an indication especially ceremonially or supernaturally Miracle sign token wonder I love too what the says here the says that this word is a sign a mark a token or a thing that distinguishes others from what is known so Jesus was saying one of the thing that's going to distinguish my people from others one of the signs of a Believer he says they're going to speak with new tongues now here's the operative word new I want everybody to look it up look up look up new Kevin's going to put this word up this is the Greek word it's pronounced Kos kinos and in the strongs it the definition it means new especially in freshness right but THS uh even takes it a little further and talks about it being um completely let me let me pull this up up I don't know if Kevin has this one or not so let me pull it up uh right here new tongues now here we go the the's Greek Lexicon on the word new means recently made now here's the definition
recently made fresh recent unused unworn not old new which is recently made and and that means which is recently made is superior to that which it succeeds A New Kind unprecedented now the word unprecedented means never done or known before novel uncommon listen to this unheard of given now for the first time previously non-existent so if you look up these words here in the the's Greek Lexicon you will look up the definition of the word new this is what you get Superior a new kind unprecedent ented which means never done or known before uncommon unheard of a tongue or a language that's unheard of not something known in the world unheard of given now for the first time previously non-existent so anybody can pull up you can pull up Blue Letter Bible and look up or pull up your whatever software you have logo software whatever look up the the's Greek Lexicon definition and and look up all the words in the definition it's not it's not just known languages it's new tongues and this is what Jesus said one of the signs of Believers he said they will cast out demons they shall speak with new tongues now folks are you going to say that casting out demons is done away with are we going to say that um you know of course taking up servants doesn't mean picking up snakes I I covered that in this past Sunday's message it's it's it's online it's on YouTube it's on Facebook it's on iTunes uh you know those are serpents and scorpions Jesus referred in Luke 10:19 are demons and Devils unclean spirits so he's talking about dealing with that but I mean here again casting out in my name Jesus said you these signs will follow them that believe my name they will cast out demons they will speak with new tongues new previously non-existent given now for the first time unheard of so I hope tonight those of you who've then buying into that deception or maybe even being caused to doubt God's word about this about the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gift of tongues you'll stop there are diverse kinds of tongues and yes it can be a supernatural uh move of the holy spirit in you speaking and giving you the utterance to speak you speak he gives the utterance giving you the utter to speak a known language you didn't learn but primarily for the most part it's going to be an unknown tongue it's going to be a tongue of angels it's going to be where no man understands it's going to be a new tongue for your prayer life your private devotion life a language that's secret it's like you know uh a
secret code between you and the Lord and that God can at times give you a peace through the gift of interpretation a piece of what's being said and that can happen in your private prayer life that's why he said said in 1 Corinthians 14 let him that prays in an unknown tongue also pray that he may interpret so he's saying once you're baptized in the Holy Spirit and once the gift of tongues is working in your life you should be praying that the gift of interpretation of tongues would be in your life so that you would be able to begin to hear the voice of God and and the gift of prophecy through tongues and interpretation starts working in your life um I've I've discovered this too and I'll just say this that the gift of tongues and and I can show you from 1 Corinthians 12 but the gift of tongu is really the beginning it's really the doorway uh the Gateway into the rest of the gifts and people and I love this one Kevin's heard me say this for years but I love this one people say well tongues is the least of the gifts I'm like well first of all the Bible doesn't say that anywhere it doesn't say tongues is the least of the gifts they they assume that because um you know 1 Corinthians 14 Paul is Lifting Up The Gift of Prophecy above tongu so they well tongues is the least of the gifts it's like trash we don't need that we just need these others well that's not listen one of the things God said you know the last or the least shall be first um so if if if that's your theology just remember the the least and the last is is going to be first um but I I will share with you that it's not the least it's very important in the life of a Believer you going to say something yeah I was just going to say I love it when people say that you can be baptized in the Holy Spirit without the evidence of speaking in tongues that you can be baptized and not even do that that is quite uh no the and see here's the thing now you go back to the Old Testament you go back to the the old Covenant and that's a good point to bring up and because people do say that well um you can be baptized in the Holy Spirit and not speak in tongues no the baptism in the Holy Spirit understand it stands alone and that's what we're about to cover we just looked at Acts chapter 2 we're about to look at acts 10 Acts 19 so you can go ahead and get your Bible ready but the baptism of the holy spirit is its own experience being filled to overflowing this is a different experience in the Old Testament before the Holy Spirit came in fullness and before the gift of tongues was released um you can see where the Holy Spirit the anointing of the Holy Spirit would come upon like Saul Saul when he became king um when the Holy Spirit when when Samuel anointed him with oil it says God gave him a new heart and all of a sudden Saul began to operate in the gift of Prophecy he had never operated in the gift of Prophecy in his life that wasn't the baptism of the holy spirit that was an anointing an empowerment
something special that God did there with Saul so you can say there are many different anointings in the Bible there's a healing anointing the Bible talks about the anointing to heal there's an anointing uh to prophesy there's an anointing um you know to give Comfort uh to those who are grieving and there's different anointings and there's different infillings of the Holy Spirit when the Holy Spirit fills you to do something but the baptism of the holy spirit with the evidence of tongues is something completely separate and and unique to the New Covenant to the new test Uh Kevin says we got a a a question yeah we got a question how does one discern the gift of tongues from the lack of a better term gibberish um well here's the thing first of all if it's if you're trying to discern whether somebody else is speaking in in true tongues or false tongues you're going to have to be operating in the gift of discerning of spirits there's no way to know the difference because tongues sometimes sounds like gibberish in fact it sounds um you know we're going to look at it in a minute Isaiah 28 11 God speaks and says to through Isaiah for with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people he said this is the rest and the refreshing that he wants to bring so stammering lips in another tongue in fact if you look up the word tongue in in the Greek there and in in uh it literally means and even in Hebrew it means like the tongue of Barbarian just a foreign completely like I don't I don't understand a thing you're saying that's you know that's what uh God has chosen and in fact you know it says in 1 Corinthians God has chosen the foolish things to confound the wise yes I will admit sometimes that tongues stammering lips and the the gift of tongues because they can be so diverse and so different sounds like gibberish it sounds like baby talk it sounds he it sounds barbaric it sounds like you know a person is a fool but it doesn't matter what it sounds like if it's the holy spirit in them giving them the utter um and again remember counterfeits are going to sound very similar and there no way for you to know the difference between true tongues and a counterfeit unless you have the witness of the holy spirit in you to give you discernment I know we were me and Patrick were battling the guy several years ago and in the spirit like that and we were trying binding the demons and praying and one of us will be praying in tongues while the other one would be praying for him and vice versa and he clearly in a demonic voice said I can pray in tongues too you know like that and then just started you know speaking in tongues but it was obviously not of God right right and you know just like in um one of the top witches in the country
who came to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior said that she was indwelt by many many powerful demons and she was able to speak in tongues to mimic tongues and uh not Holy Ghost tongues but she was able to mimic and she was able to speak other languages that she hadn't learned uh because the demons gave her the ability and she would even sit down and and talk with you know leaders of other countries that that she hadn't learned their language but she could talk to them but again it's the same thing it's the same principle go back to Egypt Moses cast down his rod turned into a serpent The Magicians the Egyptian magicians who were demon-possessed demon field cast down their rods and they turned into serpent now Moses Rod that turned into been devoured theirs but it was a mimicking it was um if if you didn't know if you were just a bystander and just like Pharaoh he just thought oh you know hey nothing special about what Moses just did my magicians can do the same and this is where a lot of people are just because there's a counterfeit out there or something that seems foolish does it mean you just dismiss it but the way you again the way you know anything is truth in the spirit is you have to be able to uh walk in true spiritual discernment and and spiritual discernment a lot of time has nothing to do with your mind leaning to your own understanding it has to do with what you sense in the spirit and if you're not a person sensitive to the Holy Spirit and have walked in Supernatural discernment um you're not even going to understand what I'm saying so you know if you're trying to figure out who's speaking in tongues for real and who's counterfeit and you don't have you you know you have you're just leaning on your own brain uh you won't be able to you won't know the difference and you'll make the mistake of of mischaracterizing somebody you you know so you you need to be very careful um this is something you know you get around I get around certain people and they speak in tongues and I can sense the presence and peace of the Holy Spirit the same holy spirit that came in me the same Holy Spirit I felt when I was born again I know that's the witness of the Holy Spirit I know they're speaking in in tongues I've had the the grieve the heaviness the the you know oppressive feeling when some another person spoke in in tongues I knew it was demonic I had one woman coming to my church when I pastored in Montgomery Alabama came in to the service and of course we allow we are a Pentecostal church we allow people to give a message in tongues someone has to interpret it has to all be done decently in an order I don't let chaos you know in church services but this lady came in and I'm leading praise and worship at the time I'm I'm playing the guitar I'm leading the the music and this woman came in and the Lord spoke to me as she came in and the presence of God was in the service that morning I just could feel the peace and just the sweet presence of the Lord and I was enjoying worship and I was enjoying leading worship that morning even though it's difficult for me
sometimes and this lady came in and the Lord spoke to me and he said she's going to give a tongue but it's not me and the moment she began she sure enough it wasn't about 5 minutes later she interrupted the song and she gave out this loud tongue in in the service and I waited and the Lord he even spoke to me and he said it's not me and so when she did it she spoke I knew I could sense the Demonic on it and so she when she finished I said woman I said uh first of all I said I don't know you um but that was not the Holy Spirit and you need to shut up and sit down I'm the pastor and I told her shut up and sit down that's not God she kept on I said I told you to be quiet and sit down she kept on so then all I had to do was look at my ushers to have her removed from the service and as she went out the door she cursed me and I rebuked her in the name of Jesus but again how did I know Holy Spirit revealing it holy spirit speaking to me Holy Spirit confirming as I sense that it wasn't his Spirit the same spirit that you know you you judge All Things by how you know the witness of the Holy Spirit when you were born again and if you've been baptized in the truly baptized in the holy spirit with evidence of tongues you felt the Holy Spirit come upon you you know what the the Holy Spirit feels like his peace his love the the anointing the fire of his presence so when something is contrary to that you will sense that too but again most people do not have good spiritual senses because they haven't they haven't been filled with the Holy Spirit and they haven't built their spiritual senses up in their discernment so again don't go by your head oh it sounds like gibberish well what do you know that might be the real thing it's it's it's not whether it sounds foolish or it sounds like gibberish or baby talk or you know stupid it might sound stupid to you but God remember God has chosen the foolish things to confound the wise if you think you're wise in your own ideas and your own preconceived thoughts then you're not going to receive some of the things that God does because sometimes he does some things that are not not the way we would do them and uh just always remember that anybody else we're going all right we're going to move move forward so I we went to I hope we've established this fact and and I mean boy time is moving on here but let's go to Acts chapter 10 here's here's another witness in the scriptures this is when uh the Holy Spirit sent the Apostle Peter to um give the gospel to the Gentiles for the first time the Gentiles were going to
receive the apostolic preaching of the Gospel now I'm not going to read the entire story we're going to go on over but Cornelius the Roman Centurion he gathered together his household God had revealed I'm going to send somebody to show you the way of life the way of Salvation God sends Peter speaks to Peter while he's on the roof in a trance God tells him men are coming you're going to go to uh this house I mean it was all Supernatural all led by the Holy Spirit on both sides and so God brings Peter to corus's household and he gathered everyone and so Peter preaches the gospel he preaches Jesus to them and uh verse 44 we're going to go to acts 10 down to verse 4 it says' and while Peter yet spake these words the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word and they of the circumcision which believed were astonished and as many as came with Peter because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost now how did they know that the Holy Spirit The Gift of the Holy Spirit the gift the the baptism of the Holy Spirit the gift how did they know the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Gentiles how did they know because this is what he says this is why we call it the initial evidence of the baptism or the gift of the Holy Spirit coming into your life the infilling he says for they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God then answered Peter can any man forbid water that these should not be B baptized which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we and he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord and then prayed they him uh to T certain days so here we see and this is interesting because these people believed the gospel and were baptized in the holy spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues before they were even baptized in water I mean that is powerful God poured out his he God was so ready to move among the Gentiles he just he just brought a group together and boom they believed the gospel in their heart as Peter was preaching and God just said I'm not wasting any time poured out the Holy Spirit and they said we knew the Gentiles had received the Holy Ghost because we heard them speak with tongues folks tongues is a sign of the baptism infilling of the gift of the Holy Ghost so you can you can be angry you can listen to that that heretic John MacArthur and yes he's a heretic that says these things are not for today he also says you can take the mark of the beast and still go to heaven he also says there's no power in the blood of Jesus so keep listening to that heretic because he's a heretic but John MacArthur and anybody like him bunch of Calvinists anyway Calvinism is nothing but a false Doctrine from beginning to end Calvinism
I I don't know where these people follow these people and and they're they're complete false teachers but because they got degrees by their name in Big Ministries they follow them and it's sickening and I don't care if it's John MacArthur or Joel ostein you can be at each e either end of the Demonic error Spectrum but you deny these things I'm saying this is Bible here so let's go on let's look at another witness of this so we go to Acts chapter 19 Acts chapter 19 and this one's powerful you know our local mega church here in Alabama um that's scattered about with its many campuses they did a whole series on the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the holy spirit they I think they they eluded mentioned tongues one time in four messages never explained the reason for tongues never explained the baptism of the Holy Spirit never explained to anybody how or why that's important I mean it was almost and part of it was just mocking Pentecostals and it it's sad but one of the verses or one of the passages the pastor of this mega church used to teach he used this passage in Acts 19 but stopped short of them being speaking in tongues and I thought what what a dishonest little weasel you're going to use part of a passage talk about the Holy Spirit but not finish it because you're embarrassed you're ashamed of the word of God concerning the gift of Tong and I know you know I'm going to just say it if you're ashamed Jesus said if you're ashamed of me in my words I'm going to be ashamed of you the day of judgment I'm going to tell these people that are ashamed of I'm not I'm not ashamed of anything's in the word of God just not ashamed of it you know I mean what what are you going to shy you going to shy away from from tongues because it doesn't fit into society's Norms what about the the Jonah and the whale what about Shadrach Meshach and abedo thrown in the fire and they didn't even they didn't burn up and they were didn't even have the smell of smoke on them I mean you know do you believe the Noah the flood do you believe in Adam and Eve do you believe what do you believe I mean if if if you're going to throw out the Supernatural and the and the strange and the weird because it doesn't fit into society's norms and the dead Church's Norms if if you're if if if that's what you're going to do you're just going to toss that out well we won't talk about that we won't talk about Samson killing a thousand Philistines with a job on that that's that's the snowflake you know Christian snowflakes we can't handle that we got to talk about you know sweet stuff but you you you get what I'm saying you start throwing out Supernatural things where where do you stop but Acts 19 let's let's undo what the mega church weasel did I'm going to make some people mad I
don't care because there's people here in Alabama know exactly who I'm talking about and I don't care I might say the name in a minute it frustrates the stew out of me because thousands of people flock to this you know and it's it you know they think the teaching is is deep and yeah it's a mile wide and an inch deep but they always stop short always stop short of going where they need to go anyway Acts Chapter 19 Verse 1 and it came to pass that while Apollos was at Corinth Paul having passed through the upper Coast came to Ephesus and finding certain disciples he said un them have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed now do you know there's some dishonest preachers pastors Seminary professors uh Bible schools that will say these guys here in Acts chapter 19 were not Christians they were not born again and so this was just the Holy Spirit coming in them at Salvation now that is it's dishonest and just a lie from the pit of Hell because it's plain here when it says Paul came to ephes Ephesus and he found certain disciples Disciples of who Disciples of Jesus and then he said have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed and the word believed is the word for saving faith in Jesus Christ pisto it is the word the word in in John 3:16 and and throughout the New Testament believing in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation so Paul says hey you're Disciples of Jesus you've believed in Jesus for you've had saving faith for salvation have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed see a lot of people well I got saved I was saved and I have the Holy Spirit in me so I don't need anything else that is not what your Bible says that is not what the Bible teaches that is not what we see them emphasizing we even see it in Acts chapter 8 the Samaran Revival I might turn to that in just a second but but here he says have you received the Holy Ghost since you believe now this where the mega church weasel stopped and then he starts talking about his you know uh Christianity light version of the Holy Spirit and what it means to be filled with the Holy Spirit but here if you keep going you see what really happened Paul Harvey the rest of the story he says have you received the Holy Ghost since you believe and they said unto him unto Paul we have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost he said unto the what them were you baptized and he said uh we were baptized under unto John's baptism well what was John's baptism repentance water baptism then said Paul John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance saying unto the people that they should believe on him which should come after him that is on Christ Jesus and when
they heard this they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus and when Paul had laid his hands upon them the Holy Ghost came on them and they spake with tongues and prophesied and all the men were about 12 so when Paul's talking to them have you received the Holy Ghost since you beli and they go we don't even know what you're talking about all we know is this B this repentance and water baptism and they weren't even baptized at that point they hadn't even baptized in jesus' name they' just been baptized in water and repentance but they believed they were disciples of Jesus and he said you know what we're going to baptize you in the name of Jesus and then Paul said now we're going to receive the Holy Spirit we're going to lay hands on you and the holy spirit's going to come on you and so he lays hands on them the Holy Spirit comes on them and it says they spake with tongues and prophesied now that's your Bible here's the Apostle Paul this was his practice this is what he did so if you're a pastor out there are you teaching this are you doing this oh man 30 years I've seen so many people baptized in the holy spirit with the evidence speaking in tongues one of the last times was right here in this church one Sunday morning I talked about the baptism in the Holy Spirit and I think there was one adult and three young people from like 10 years old to like you know 13 years old or so and laid hands on them and the Holy Spirit came on them so powerful and they begin to speak in other tongues and I mean it was powerful and some of them be to cry begin to shake begin to weep I mean the power of God was so strong in that service um there's nothing like it nothing like it now look what we're going to do right now we're going to take a quick break uh we're we're got through I can't believe the first segment of the show is is passed tonight but it's after 9:00 we're going to take a quick break when we come back we're going to talk about how to receive the baptism of of the Holy Spirit understanding the difference between you speaking and the Holy Spirit speaking and the difference between you speaking and the Holy Spirit giving the utterance uh we're going to talk about some of the road block some of the hindrances and then uh we'll finish it up by getting into some of the other gifts and hope you know hopefully answering uh taking some of your comments and questions anyway you're listening to prophecy quick I'm your host Pastor Dean Odell along with my co-host H pastor Kevin Wilkinson uh we are live here in East Central Alabama we will be back in just a moment you stay with us okay we're back you're listening to prophecy Quake I'm your host Pastor Dean Odell we are back live with you we're continuing our Bible study tonight on the baptism of the Holy Spirit tongues and the power gifts hopefully we'll be able to get all this in tonight it's a lot to try to get in um but I
want to talk about tonight just about some of the the the road block some of the pitfalls because I know there are very very well-meaning people they've been hungry they've been thirsty they've been open to receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit and and the gift of tongues but they've you know they've tried they've had you know many people have prayed for them they've been to churches and have people lay hands on them sometimes that's good sometimes that's not so good um but um it's it's important to pursue and to understand I'm going to share with you the number one roadblock now apart from the obvious apart from you know um having willful known sin in your life that you're practicing and you won't deal with it or unforgiveness towards somebody bitterness and you won't deal with that or uh you know there can be things you know people people come up you know they want to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and then uh we pray for them and they don't receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and they get all disappointed and we find out you know they're shacking up you know they're they're in fornication they're living with their boyfriend or the girlfriend you see there's just certain principles you need to get some things right with God first and deal with those things so yeah the obvious things aside let's say you're you're on fire for Jesus you're living for God you're not worldly you're not carnal carnally minded I mean you you love the word of God you love the truth uh you're spending time in prayer you're fasting you're trying to share the gospel with people you're trying to live the life you're trying to be a real Christian you've truly been born again and I mean you love to go to church you love to worship you you know you're just you're the real deal but you have say you know I've prayed and prayed and prayed never spoken tongues I've asked God for the baptism I've asked God for the gift of tongues I believe what you're saying pastor n but I never have well um I'm going to tell you a little story that this is a true story about my two great ants now one is still alive she is 95 years old she just turned 95 5 uh February 2 born in 1922 um her name is nor Lee and she had a sister her older sister by two years Zola now these were my two great aunts on my mom's side uh love those ladies dearly they prayed me into the kingdom I want to tell you both of them were prayer warriors they were saved back in the you know the the mid-30s um they had Little Brush Harbor meetings came through here that they had you know these Pentecostal revivals people that came from isua Street and or that were touched by people that came from isua Street and finally spread from California out here uh in Alabama and they were you know radically saved my my great-grandfather my two great aunts my grandmother and you know just transformed their lives I mean my my great granddaddy was a bootlegger I mean he was uh you know a fiddle player and Honky Tonks and ran even with uh you
know with uh Hank Williams I mean this is they were they he was Rowdy man they were just wild and um now I'm talking about my aunts but my grandfather he needed to get saved my great-grandfather and anyway but these two ladies you know my great-grandfather passed away when I was like four or five years old and but you know these two ladies they took me to church for the first time when I was 5 six seven years old I went with them to the First Assembly of God Church here in town and I remember hearing tongues for the first time in there hearing Tong as a 5-year-old and sitting up in the front of the church and hearing the gift of tongues and and then the interpretation of tongues and feeling the peace feeling that presence of God when I was young so I I remember that experience and but you know when I got into my teenage years and you know I got saved when I was young but then I drifted away from God my parents divorced and I've shared that testimony but I quit going to church um I but I would still always go see them cuz they loved us I mean and they cook good food man and so so I would always go visit them and be with them and sometimes spend weeks and sometimes even months I've spent with them just to cuz that was home that was our only real stable place we could say that was home uh but those ladies they were Godly women they never married they went to church every Sunday every Wednesday um if there were special meetings they were there uh Sunday nights they would I mean prayer warriors my aunt Zola was even I mean she loved Ian bounds and Leonard Raven Hill and she was just constantly in books about prayer and she was constantly on her knees I would catch her up in the woods praying uh for us and and I mean the Lord let me know I mean that's that's why I'm here today they prayed and prayed and prayed for me when I was rebelled and walked away from God living in sin and and so many times I should have been dead and God had mercy well when I rededicated my life and then 3 weeks later was baptized in the Holy Spirit and and speaking in other tongues and then the gift of the word of knowledge began to work in my life and the word of wisdom and prophecy and Discerning the spirits I mean it was just like a you know a flood took place in my life and so when I I was in Arkansas at the time I spent a year out there and I came back here to share with them to let them see uh you know the answer to their prayers they were blown away and blessed I mean they were so happy well when when I got to talking to them and I shared with them how I got saved and how God dealt with me and they were just you know they were just excited and happy and but we and I shared about the baptism of the Holy Spirit and I got to talk and so finally you know I'm interested in asking them questions about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and baptism in the Holy Spirit and I find out that my aunt nor Lee had been baptized in the Holy Spirit for decades speaking in tongues the gifts of the Spirit working in her life but my aunt Zola the one who was the prayer Warrior who who prayed more than my other aunt norly that she had not been baptized in the Holy SP I was like to me
I could not fathom what in the world is going on and I'm a young you know I'm a young person I'm a young believer I'm 20 years old and but I'm reading the Bible thank God I only believe the Bible I didn't have anybody T me out of it you know Dr so and so with the doctor Divinity to taught me out of what the scripture says so anyway I decided I said well let's let's just have some some devotions and some prayer time together and they were excited they I could not believe that so we'd sit down and we'd read some passages and we pray together and it was you know it was wonderful uh and finally I said you know I said Zola we need to pray for you to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit I said do you mind if I lay hands on you and pray for you and I'd already prayed for some of my best friends that I led to to the Lord and and prayed for them to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and they had been spoken in tongues my brother had and so uh two of my very best friends so I'm like hey if it worked for them it can work for you Z we can pray for you she said sure so you know she was she was a tough cookie but she she sat in a chair and I laid hands on her and I'm going to tell you the Holy Spirit came in that room brother I mean power the anointing the presence of God it was so strong immediately the tears began to stream down her she knew it was God God was in the room and I laid hands on her for her to be filled with the Holy Spirit and I'm going to tell you the woman Shook and the tears rolled down her face and I said now Zola I said the Holy Spirit just like I we read Acts chapter 19 I said I'm going to lay hands on you the holy spirit's going to come upon you and when he does you speak speak out open your mouth do not speak English speak out just let what comes out what he gives speak just don't speak your known language English the only language she knew now let me tell you the power of God's all over that woman Holy Spirit has come upon her she's shaking tears running down her face face I said is this the Holy Spirit or is it me she go no it's the Holy Spirit I said okay you're going to have to take a step of Faith you're going to have to open your mouth she wouldn't she sat there with and almost you know like she was trying not to let her mouth open I mean she was holding her mouth shut so we know we went through this you know another 30 minutes of just praying the presence of God was so strong the peace of God the love of God just the I mean the power was present uh of the Holy Spirit and so when we we I finally gave up I finally quit and I said okay what's the deal here what's up she she said I'm just so afraid that it's going to be me and not the real thing and I was like smack my head what I said didn't you not feel the Holy Spirit come all over you yes then what makes you think it would be you and him she had the wrong belief and this is
a lot of you out there cuz I I get the emails and the messages she had the idea that the Holy Spirit was going to force her to speak in tongues that it's something that he comes upon you and takes over and you have no control no cooperation and no part of he just does it through you and you do nothing that is completely false that is completely not the way it works now if you want to believe some Pastor out there who's never experienced this and you want to believe his teaching on it then you go right ahead and keep believing the John MacArthur's of the world and you're never going to receive what I'm telling you but here's the principle the principle of faith is in everything that we do and what is the principle of Faith you believe the word of God the truth in your heart and then you speak it with your mouth you take action you do something and if you read read in Acts chapter 2 you'll see it says the Holy Spirit came upon them filled them and they spoke with tongues not the Holy Spirit the holy spirit is not speaking going to force you to speak you're going to speak as he helps give you what to speak but he's not going to make your tongue move your lips move your vocal cords move he's not going to make you breathe in air and out to pass over your vocal cords form more he's not going to make you do it so if you think the holy spirit is going to come upon you and overwhelm you and force this on you and through you then you're going to sit there until Jesus comes and never ever release the gift of tongues through your life you have to participate I tell people like this all the time Peter when when they were in the boat out on the water and the storm came and and Jesus had told them to go to the other side this is Matthew Matthew 14 Mark 6 these stories where Jesus told them you guys get in the boat go to the other side I'm going to stay here and it says they were in a storm and and you know it was far late in the night and Jesus comes walking on the water and they were afraid they were terrified they thought it was a a ghost a spirit they didn't know what it was they were scared and the Lord said be not afraid it is it is I and so Peter calls out and says Lord if it's you bid me to come invite me to come out here on the water and Peter uh and and so the Lord said come come on folks hear what I'm about to say the Holy Spirit didn't come upon Peter and Float him up in the air over the edge of the boat and into the water that's not how it happened Peter stood up he stepped over the edge and he began to take steps on that water he physically acted upon his faith and what the Lord was inv inviting him to come and do now was it anything in Peter that
enabled him to walk in the word did Peter have the ability to walk on water no it was Supernatural it was the power of the Holy Ghost but he had to cooperate and I try to tell this all the time the scripture says we are co-laborers together with him he doesn't Force us we choose to yield and let him use us and so what happens is you have to take the step of faith if if if you get in your prayer closet or you find somebody like Pastor Dean who will lay hands on you and pray for you to be baptized and ho sometimes it can be in church sometimes it can be somebody laying hands on you and praying for you sometimes you're going to be in your private prayer closet or your prayer room where you're in private but you're praying for the baptism of the Holy Spirit I was in private but many people I've prayed for were in public but I'm I'm I I'm praying there I'm sitting there and I'm I realize I'm praying I'm asking God fill me with the Holy Spirit baptize me in the Holy Spirit I'm sitting there waiting and I remember when I went I was by myself in pray reading acts and I said Lord I need this what do I do what do I do and I sat there and I felt the Holy Spirit come upon me the peace and his presence and I sat there like a bump on a log and then finally the Lord's like you have to do something step out and so I opened my mouth and I started not in English and and as I took that step of Faith as I as I started the Holy Spirit began to it just began to come up and help me but it was it's it's it's a cooperation back and forth and back and forth with him they spoke as the Holy Spirit gave the utterance you have to open your mouth begin to speak what he begins to give you and let him let just and let it flow let it flow that's why he says out of your belly will flow Rivers of Living Water when you're filled with the Holy Spirit John 7 you got to let it flow Don't Damn It Up by keeping your mouth shut and doing nothing you know we get saved by faith right and what is Faith how does faith operate I shared it Sunday you believe it in your heart you speak it you open you confess Jesus as Lord with your mouth and he says it for with the heart man believes un righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation the supernatural experience of Salvation takes you believing it in your heart and speaking something with your mouth you have to do something everything in the kingdom of God works that way you have to step out and then and then you'll begin to speak and it might be stammering lips it might not sound like another language it might sound like complete gibberish baby talk it might seem foolish to you you might go this is you know the devil's always going to fight this too he's oh it my it's foolishness why are you doing this you you you're crazy no you're you're actually becoming
like a child a childlike faith and it's one of the most powerful things that you're going to do in your Christian Life when you can truly pray in the Holy Spirit in the gifts of the Spirit In The Gift of tongues when you can pray and you can worship in those Tong you're going to find great spiritual strength and you're going to see you being being led by the Holy Spirit even in Greater fashion so many times in my life the the I I didn't know what to pray I just had a burden from God how many I mean think about it how many times in in a Christian's life do they know they they they sit down and they pray everything they know with in their head to pray but they're sitting there going I know there's something else I just don't know what it is and and that's what Romans 8 talks about we we don't know how to pray as we ought and so then you begin to pray in tongues you begin to pray in the spirit and your understanding may be unfruitful but you're praying those Mysteries you begin to pray the perfect will of God and then you you happen to have prayed before Oh God give me the interpretation and God gives you the interpretation and then boom you're hearing what God's saying you're hearing one of those Mysteries you're hearing something you might need to know a word of knowledge comes a Word of Wisdom I'll give you an example 1988 I'm in Israel and uh this a long story long story to this situation but my brother and I were in Israel we had had gone for an undetermined amount of time and so we only bought oneway tickets when we went and so long story short there was we we knew it was time to come home we've been there a little over a month and um but we didn't know you know we and and it was wild because things just worked out and we only had $1,000 okay to get back to get some two plane tickets from Tel Aviv Israel to Atlanta Georgia so we we go to the travel agent now we're staying in a little uh hostel youth hostel inside the walls the of you know the old city in Jerusalem we're about 15-minute walk to the travel agent so we'd gone to the travel agent the day before and and the only way we could get two tickets back to uh Atlanta Georgia from Israel uh for under $1,000 we had to basically Stand By and they had to just tell us well this is before cell phones this is before cell phones and the the place we stayed the only phone was in the in the office of the hostel we didn't even have a phone in our room anyway we we just the lady said well you know I don't know what I can find I'll look you know and check back with me she said check back with me tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. is what she said come at 4:00 and I'll see what I have
for you and we already discovering that flights out that was during the the infat and the uprising of the Palestinians and people were getting shot and I mean it was getting a little difficult everybody a lot of people that were there were trying to get out and so flights were getting scarce so um that's the evening so we go back go to bed that night get up the next morning I decided to get up early and I go up on the roof to pray to get some privacy my brother stays down in the room and prays and and I just I have this burden something I prayed everything I knew to pray when I was on the roof I come back down I tell my brother I said you know I just I just have a burden I don't know what it is so we take hands and me and him and another guy cuz we another guy from New Zealand was looking for a flight too to get home so we just started praying and then again I'd already prayed for God's Will and I'd already prayed for you know tickets and a flight and and all this stuff and so I've prayed everything I knew to pray in Jesus name so I start praying in tongues I start praying in the gift of tongues that God gave me I I'm praying in tongues and I I just prayed in tongues for you know I don't know two three minutes I don't know how much time went by and when I finished praying in tongues the Holy Spirit gave me the interpretation he spoke to me just as almost just as clear as you're hearing me but it just wasn't with the audible sound but it was in the inside of me Holy Spirit Came Upon me and gave me the interpretation of the tongues and again it wasn't a translation it was an interpretation but the interpretation was strong because the Holy Spirit basically shouted in me and said go to the travel agent now well this was 10:00 in the morning she said come at 400 p.m. so I'm like okay I said the the Lord spoke and said go to the travel agent now that was the interpretation of the tongue go to the travel so we take off man we take off you know run jog Sprint you know through crowds of people on the street and we finally we we get to the travel agent and I'll never forget this I open the door to the travel agency so it's about 10:15 10:20 in the morning she had said come back at 400 p.m. I open the door she sees us she knows who we are she's she's blown away her eyeballs about pop out of her head because she she looks at me she's on the telephone you know the old phones that you had to hold up to your ear like this and she's on the phone she said I have two tickets to Atlanta but you have to get them right now for $350 a piece $700 I said yes yes we'll take them right so we we run over and sit down and she books the flights we get the tickets to to get to Atlanta when all that's done she said how did you know this Jewish lady in Isel how did you know to come here at this
time I said well do you want the truth you want me to lie to you and I explained to her Yeshua the Lord Jesus Through The Gift of the Holy Spirit tongues and interpretation told me to come now Blown Away powerful witness to that lady but this is one example of many many many I did not know in my own mind my own understanding that I needed to go to the travel agent at 10: in the morning 10:20 in the morning when she had said come at 400 p.m. so see this is what I'm trying to say folks we lean too much to our own understanding we lean too much to our carnal mind this is Supernatural the gift of tongues is Supernatural the interpretation of tongues It's Supernatural it's Holy Ghost but it's us cooperating it's us believing it's us taking action it's us doing something and letting him work in us and through us um in in the days ahead so many you're going to need to hear what the holy spirit is saying you're going to need to know what to do and you're not going to know what to do you're not going to even know what to pray and you know it says pray you know when Jesus said to pray he said pray you know that God's will be done on Earth as it is in heaven well that's good to pray but sometimes you need to specifically I tell people all the time there's no scripture there's no Bible scripture that says Dean Odell go to Auburn opala Alabama area and start a church there's still scripture that says that so how did I know that God wanted me to come here and start a church well it's that relationship with him it's that praying in the spirit and listening to the Holy Spirit and being led by the spirit this is what I'm talking about is normal Christianity it's not just about learning listen the scriptures are alive and powerful and they are how we judge everything God's not going to tell you to do anything the holy spirit's not going to tell you to do anything that's not biblical or that it's against God's you know word or morals or anything he's not going to tell you anything like that but to be led by the spirit man I had to know and so what happens is when I remember the Lord told me go go back to your hometown go back to all I was in Washington DC go back and start a church there I want you to go back back to Auburn and start a church and I remember the Holy Spirit you know I I I wrote that down I made a note of it and I said I know what I'm hearing but I'm going to wait for confirmation and everything came to pass the Lord told me would come to pass and then finally the Holy Spirit came on me and I just had this peace and I just I mean when I say you have a knowing that you you know a peace and a knowing that you just know and you're hearing him I mean I know like I know my name I was supposed to come here and do exactly what I've been doing for the last eight and a half years I know it and because I I heard from him and that hearing from him was cultivated and much
of it comes from praying in the spirit and praying for the interpretation praying in tongues and the interpretation of tongues much of what happens in the spirit realm is going to come through this gift and its power so I want to make sure I I want to Jump Ahead do we have any questions or comments or anything out there um if you do listen folks I think Kevin's looking at uh the Facebook feed um questions are in Blog Talk and if you have any comments or questions please try to get them in we got a little around 30 minutes left here I guess am I looking at this correctly so we got about 30 minutes but I want to I want us to to look at some of the other gifts yeah go ahead yeah we had a question that came in over the break and said can you ever lose the gift now that's a good question I I will say this um if if you go to Romans 11 um I believe it's verse 29 I'm pretty sure let me let me flip there to answer this question um and most people would know when um let me turn I'm going the wrong way most people would know when they hear this and I'm going to share with you what I believe here Romans what' I say 11 I say Romans 11:29 I believe that's yeah here we go he says here that the gifts and the calling of God are without repentance now a lot of people take that out of context is where a lot of people teach once saved always saved you know the gifts and calling God but what he's talking about the gifts and the calling the things that God has given us to do what he's called us to do um that being the gift of tongues or the gifts of interpretation or the gifts of healing or working of Miracles any of the gifts the the gift of be an apostle a Prophet evangelist Pastor teacher no he doesn't take those away that doesn't mean though that you can't quench the gifts of the Spirit in your life and squelch and silence them and put out the fire and not do not not operate in the gifts and not fulfill the calling on your life there's a lot of people that are that will be in Hell God didn't take the gift from them they forfeited it they didn't use it remember the story of the the the parable of the talents a lot of people use that as like the talent to play a piano but that's not what he's talking about um if you go to Matthew 25 and you look at the parable of the talents it says the Lord called three of his servants out three of them and um it says to one he gave five talents to another two to another one these these are not again talents to play the piano or something like this is money and he said you know he instructed them to go and trade and and increase bear fruit so the one that had five talents while his Lord was gone went and traded and made five more so he bore
fruit he he put Faith he put actions with his faith and obeyed the Lord and He bore fruit the one that had two did the same he bore two but the one that had the one Talent he said he was afraid and he went and he hid his Lord's money in the earth he buried it and then when he when the Lord came it says he went and took that and said Lord I was afraid I knew you were a hard man I was afraid I didn't do anything I buried this that you gave me now at the Judgment the Lord's going to looks at him and goes take from him what he has now this is at the Judgment when the Lord comes take from him you Wicked and slothful servant he says you knew you knew what you were supposed to do but you didn't do it so he tells the Angels take from him what he has give it to him that hath 10 talents cast the unprofitable serent servant into outer Darkness there will be weeping and nashing of teeth so in this life right now if God's called you to to he's given you a gift or a calling like for me to be a pastor I have the gift of tongues and interpretation of tongues and other gifts in my life does he take them from me now no even if I walk away even if I never preach again or I never speak in tongues again or I never prophesy again or or give an interpretation of T I can I can quench and cut off and shut it off he doesn't take it away two years from now I could repent and come back and operate in all those gifts again he doesn't take them away but on the Judgment Day when he returns and I stand before the Judgment seat of Christ he's going to call me into the account and it's not going to be a matter of just losing some rewards it will be a matter of Salvation did we bury what you know and I'm not talking about you have to again I'm not talking about you have to speak in tongues to go to heaven I'm talking about did you use everything God gave you did you use the gifts did you obey him did you do his will with your life and again he's not taking it from you but until then when you stand before the Judgment seat of Christ if you didn't use it you didn't obey you buried it you lived in fear um you quenched the holy spirit in your life you didn't yield then it says what you have is going to be taken away from you and you're going to be cast into out Darkness that's why Paul Paul said it this way he said you know I've been given the I've been given the commission to preach the gospel he says woe is me if I don't do it why Paul was given a gift to be an apostle and he says you know I have a gift and this gift carries a responsibility and if I don't do it then it's not only going to affect me it's going to affect everyone that I'm supposed to reach and bring into the Kingdom so the blood will be among so what Paul was saying was if I what is me if I don't preach the gospel if I quench this gift that I've been given I don't do the will of God for my life I don't operate in the gift he's called me to Ministry and power if I don't operate in
these things and I don't I don't do his will for my life then blood's going to be on my hands because people are going to go to hell that I should have reached and he said that's why Paul said woe is me so when Paul told Timothy you know don't quench stir up the gifts of the holy spirit that means the flame don't let the flame go out like the five foolish virgins everybody thinks the five foolish virgins weren't weren't saved but no they were all virgins they were all given the lamps the word of God they all had oil in the lamp all the lamps had fire in them Holy Ghost Fire but five were wise and five were foolish and the five foolish let their fire go out they ran out of oil they quenched and ran out and did not keep the fire fire burning and keep doing the will of God so um will God take them will you lose the gifts now no but you will give an account for what you did or didn't do on the day of judgment and don't just think see a lot of people think we once saved always sa no matter what you do but uh you I tell people all the time the guy that was given five talents he was required a little more than the guy that was given two and one better quit worrying about everybody else and you better do what God has called you to do and do it to the fullest degree and don't quench him and don't live in fear the fear of man or worry about what people think or say and I got so many critics I got so many critics and crazy people out there you know I'm going to give an account for what God called me to do Kevin will not stand a judgment seat for me I will stand for me he will stand for himself did we do our part our gift our calling our ministry in the kingdom of God did we do it to the best of our ability did we obey did we get out there and mix it up and bear some fruit or did we bury it quench it do nothing with it oh boy see now we now we're done go to stepping on toes and meddling lukewarm church what do they do we're we're uh rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing we're good Jesus said no I'm going to spit you out of my mouth better be on fire better be hot better be doing something for God doing what he's called you to do you know powerful stuff any other questions out there I hope that answered that right there um let's go uh to back to 1 Corinthians chapter 12 here and we'll try to touch on we got well we got just a few minutes here about 15 minutes a little over we're going to try to just look at these other gifts of the Spirit because a lot of people not only they ignorant about the
gift of tongues they just don't know about any of them and what they mean and what they are and how they work um 1 Corinthians chapter 12 going back there um let's start reading here from verse one we read a little bit of of this but we're going to read it again he says' now concerning spiritual gifts Brethren I would not have you ignorant I love this we shouldn't be ignorant of the spiritual gifts what they mean you know that you were Gentiles carried away unto these dumb Idols even as you were LED wherefore I give you to understand that no man speaking by the spirit of God calleth Jesus a cursed and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord but by the Holy Ghost now there are diversities of gifts but the same spirit and there are differences of administrations but the same lord and there are diversities of operations but it is the same God which worketh all in all now verse seven is a key verse here this is something you need to look at in your good King James Bible here it says but the manifestation of the spirit is given to every man to Pro with all now when he's saying the manifestation of the spirit is given to every man mean the manifestation of the spirit is when the spirit is working through you the gifts he's talking about these gifts of the spirits are manifestations they are surges of holy spirit Power working through you Holy Spirit manifesting through you whether it be tongues interpretation of tongues prophecy healing Miracles we're going to read them all but he says listen to me the man manifestation of the spirit is given to every man oh so it's not just for some it's not just for me or Kevin or just special people called to the ministry no this is God God wants every believer every born again Christian to have the manifestation of the spirit um actually he's he's already he's already provided for it he's already given it you just got to step out there on the water and get out there with him look at verse eight here he says but the manifestation we'll read verse 7 again but the manifestation of the spirit is given to every man to profit with all for to one is given by the spirit the word of wisdom to another the word of knowledge by The Same Spirit to another Faith by The Same Spirit to another the gifts of healing by The Same Spirit to another the working of Miracles to another prophecy to another the Discerning of spirit to another diverse kinds of tongues to another the interpretation of tongues but look at verse 11 but all these worketh that one in the self-same spirit dividing to every man
sever as he will what you mean the Holy Spirit wants to give me several of these gifts he wants me to operate in several of them yes he does I believe that with all my heart that he wants every man to have the manifestation of the spirit and he wants he wants to divide to every man or give to every man several of these gifts and I mean man or woman because yes women can prophesy and speak in tongues and be prophetesses I believe all that um that's another show but let's look at let's break these down now he's already talking to Believers here he's already talking to people who already bornn again already believe yet he starts talking about a Word of Wisdom a word of knowledge he just talking about normal wisdom or normal knowledge um and and we know this because he talks about to anothers given the gift of faith well wait a minute if you don't already have faith you can't be saved if you don't already have a Measure of Faith so he's obviously talking about something beyond the faith you already have what I tell people is is this it's like a the gifts of the Spirit they are power surges of things really that we already have and and we can already experience or um you know that you know yes can we get wisdom by reading the Bible yes but then there's all of a sudden God can give you a word a power surge of wisdom uh for instance I'll tell people like all right let's let's look at it let's look at them let's break them down a Word of Wisdom now wisdom is knowing the will of God God and Discerning the will of God and being able to do the will of God now a supernatural Word of Wisdom I can read the Bible and I can gain wisdom but a supernatural surge of wisdom where I would know the will of God about a certain thing and be able to do something was like the example I gave a minute ago of knowing it was the will of God God having to supernaturally give me a word of wisdom to go to the travel agent at 10:00 in the morning instead of 400 p.m. that was a supernatural surge of wisdom about the will of God in that situation to get us back from Israel to uh the United States so that was Supernatural now you say well Pastor de you said it was tongues and interpretation of tongues yes it was tongues and interpretation of tongues but what God did what he gave through the tongues and the interpretation of tongu was a Word of Wisdom go now don't wait when you say that wisdom see if I'd have been stubborn and stupid I would have just said hm I'm going to sit here till 4 p.m. lean to my own understanding instead of acknowledging him and letting him direct my path so that was a word of wisdom and
remember it's just a fragment of wisdom a word is a fragment of a sentence it's part of a sentence not the whole sentence but it's a part it's a part we need at that moment um here's the the word of knowledge now knowledge means to know something right so yes I can read the Bible and study the Bible and and and gain knowledge I can read books and study books and gain this is not what he's talking about this is a supernatural gift of the holy spirit this is a power surge of knowledge and it's a word of knowledge so it's a fragment of knowledge that I need that's Supernatural and this happens a lot um and a lot of people think it's it's the gift of prophecy and it can be part of again a lot of these gifts work together to manifest and that's why God says he he divides them severally to every man because they do work together but I remember like an example of the word of knowledge and I'm going to try to do this as fast as I can a lady came into my church in Montgomery when I pastored the church there many years ago I'd never seen her she was uh from Atlanta she just happened to be in town she looked us up she decided to come to our church Sunday morning never met her before so so she was sitting in the back and I preached that morning I don't even remember what the sermon was and I gave an altar call for Christians who who needed prayer well she she stepped out her her and her husband were there and she stepped out and she came forward and I remember when I walked up to her never seen her before did know her name didn't know who she was laid hands on her and began to pray for her I saw her standing in the grocery store aisle and like one of those ladies that that hand out um samples and I saw her in a vision form doing that and then the Lord impressed upon me spoke to me tell her not to be afraid to share the gospel at work when people come up to her for the samples to be bold to be strong and to not fear losing her job or anything like that so God God gave me this one now the tears begin to stream down her face and she said I just received this job a week ago where I stand in the grocery store aisle and give samples she said and I've been asking God should I share the gospel I've been feeling impressed to share Jesus with people coming up to me but I've been afraid and she said I've been asking God should I go ahead and share the gospel with them even if it's possible I might lose my job and she said that I even asked the Lord this morning are there any men of God left that hear from God so God did amazing he revealed a word a piece of Supernatural I couldn't have known about her at all and he used that to strengthen her to encourage her to answer her question uh so that's a word of knowledge um and I'm just going to have to speed through these there's many
examples of these things in the in the Bible of how the apostles and the different prophets operated in these gifts and there's examples of them he says to another he says the gift of faith or or and and again this is to people already had faith and I mentioned that a minute ago well what this is again is a supernatural surge of faith I tell people all the time it's like God just flips a switch and you know it's like nitrous oxide in an engine just flip the switch and it's just it goes beyond what it normally you know the engine will go beyond what it normally can do uh when you flip the nitrous well that's what happens it's like we already have faith every Christian has Faith God's dealt to every man a Measure of Faith but when he flips the the gift of faith the super natural gift he flips that nitrous oxide and it's like you believe you just know God's going to do it and I've had many times like I had a guy he attends our church now uh and and I led him to the Lord 20 something years ago but when the night that I led him to the Lord he had a fractured hand fractured thumb wrist area right here his hand was swollen up and had it baned it up and he'd been and it was it was fractured and so I remember he came in and and he he had accepted the Lord and we prayed and he repented gave his life to the Lord and I was like what's wrong with your hand he's like well I've got a hairline fracture right here it's swollen and all this stuff I said well do you believe Jesus will heal you and I just had this Supernatural surge of faith that his he was his hand would be healed I had no doubt no doubt was in my heart and my mind and he said yeah I believe Jesus Will hi I said all right so I I I prayed for him I laid my hand on his shoulder and I said in the name of Jesus Lord we pray for this hand to be healed this fracture to be healed and we thank you that it's done and then I reached down and I grabbed his hand and I squeezed it as hard as I could and he was completely healed no pain freaked him out he was like why you know he's tripping out but his hand was healed and he'll testify to that to this day he he attends this church and that was over 25 years ago and he'll tell you but that's just an example of just when you have no doubt and that's what you see sometimes you see people do just step out and do crazy things in faith and God moves and you're like how did how did you have the courage to believe to do that and you're like I just I just had a surge of faith I knew it would happen if I if I did it um quickly the these others here the this the gift of healing um again all believers can lay hands on the sick and they shall recover but someone with the gift of healing will have Supernatural surges that go beyond that and they will see healings more frequently the same with uh the working of Miracles and some people say well what's the difference between a healing and a miracle well a healing usually is a process it takes some time a miracle is instantaneous um but sometimes a miracle takes creative power like um one of my elders a prophet that has ministered New Testament prophets ministered to me for for many years had his stomach surgically removed when he was in his
early 20s six years went by God did a miracle and gave him a brand new stomach this is a documented Miracle the man's still alive Eugene May true prophet of God true man of God God documented Miracle stomach surgically removed 6 years later God gives him a brand new one so healing process it can be quickly it can be a quick healing but a miracle like the man with the withered hand that Jesus said stretch your hand andom his hand goes from being a withered you know deformed hand to being made whole um those things can happen so the gifts of healing working of Miracles pretty self-explanatory uh Discerning of spirits now Discerning of spirits is the ability to perceive both good spirits the spirit of God angels and Demon spirits and the evil spirits of human spirits of people not just to discern them that means to be able to feel and sense what's good what's bad but also the word discern means to see and sometimes you will actually see in the spirit I've seen demons on people I saw one demon on a woman's throat with his fingers in her throat so sometimes you will see them but sometimes you will just sense them you will know that the evil spirits are there you will know the presence of God is there so Discerning of spirits is both sensing what's going on in the spirit realm and sometimes seeing as God permits and then as we've covered it tonight the others are diverse kinds of tongues and the interpretation of tongues and that's when God shows you what you've been praying sometimes just a general uh theme or some you know a sentence or maybe even a paragraph what God shows you this this is what you've been praying and he speaks that to you so we're running out of time we're out of time tonight um I hope that kind of give you a basic rundown the Bible says this look it says that you should earnestly desire the gifts of the Spirit you should want them you should operate in them and this is I'm going to close with this passage you go over to First Corinthians 14 and you go to the end of the book and you can judge your church or your Bible School your favorite Pastor or Bible teacher where do they stand on this here's what Paul said he had already taught them about tongues interpretation of tongues the the the use of tongues in private the use of tongues in public he talked about the gifts tongues of men tongues of Angels chapter 12 chapter 13 chapter 14 he ends with this he says look he says verse 37 If any man think himself to be a prophet or spiritual let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the Commandments of the Lord but if any man be ignorant let him be ignorant wherefore Brethren covet to prophesy and forbid not to speak with tongues let all things be done decently and in order so there you have it ask
