dying to self giving up everything that self wants and and surrendering to the will of god to your will father and taking up our cross and following jesus wherever he leads us and being willing to lift up the gospel of jesus christ and the truth of the word of god no matter what persecution or rejection that that may bring you didn't call us to be liked by everybody you didn't call us to be accepted by everybody you called us lord to be close to you first and then to proclaim the gospel of jesus christ to this world lord without fear without shame not not a partial gospel lord but the full gospel of jesus christ and lord i thank you for the blood of jesus that was shed it was it is a precious thing it is a holy thing not to be taken lightly that you are willing to wash our sins away if we will repent and turn from our sins and give you our whole lives or so many people fail in the christian walk because they don't really give it all in the beginning they don't really understand that it must be everything so lord if there's anyone in this room today that has not given everything given up every sin given up every self-made plan and totally surrendered to the lordship of jesus christ into obedience and to walking this out the lord i pray they will do that father i thank you for it in jesus name amen and amen listen to me understand that the gospel of jesus is a total surrender he doesn't ask for half of you part of you eighty percent ninety percent it has to be a hundred percent amen all the way halfway doesn't cut it amen all right you ought to know that by now but we just got to grasp that i was i've started listening to uh a documentary kind of on rick warren and the whole seeker sensitive movement of course i did a sermon series in 1998 against the seeker sensitive movement so it's nothing new for me to be against that whole philosophy because it's not biblical but the bottom line is it doesn't demand anything of you it tries to cater church to what you want or what a sinner or unsaved person wants guess what nowhere did jesus say hey i'm going to make it the way you want it unsaved sinner person
no if you want me you want eternal life jesus said take up your cross and follow me he told the woman caught in the act of adultery go and sin no more right he didn't say stay an adulteress and you can have eternal life never said that it's not in the bible but anyway i could preach on that for a while but kevin's got a word for us today hallelujah i am enjoying taking some time time off a little bit here i needed it but anyway brother if you're ready it's good to be in the presence of the lord this morning let me get set up and we'll uh i'll bring this word to you the best i can y'all forgive me if it uh doesn't come out exactly right but we'll uh we'll get there nonetheless today i'm going to talk about arrows and we all know archery we all have seen different movies with arrows in them and sometimes they light the ends of them on fire and shoot them to burn things down and sometimes they shoot them to for food so but the kind of arrows i'm going to talk about today are arrows of the lord and arrows are talked about a lot and sometimes when they when scripture mentions arrows they're talking about lightning god sending lightning down on people and not just an arrow like what we think of so you don't want to be on the receiving end of one of those arrows for sure but there's a couple of topics i want to cover with the arrows of the lord and most of us we all talk about planting seeds and things like that a seed is a gospel truth planted in an unsafe person and that's that we can we can take the seed we can take the gospel we plant the seed of of the gospel in them and the the seed is a gospel truth an arrow is a correction or harsh truth sometimes about someone's walk with god that continually stays with them until they deal with it i mean you're not going to just pull an arrow from the lord out of you it's going to stay there it's going to convict you it's going to draw you closer to him it's going to make you miserable until you deal with it and you know we can talk about the seed from the parable of the sower which isn't luke 8 5. but a seed is this one of the definitions of this of a seed off of dictionary dictionary.com where i got this so it's the source beginning or germ of anything
and the example they gave was the seed of revolt so if we plant a seed we're beginning a growth in someone to bring them to a point in a christian walk but if we've been doing this for a while when when the lord brings correction on us he whether it's from somebody that we are like our pastor or someone that we are close to if they see you doing something wrong and they bring correction that's a arrow from the lord and we'll look at a few scriptures we'll start and a lot of these are going to be in the old testament there's only just a few mentions in the new testament of arrows or arrow or darts things like that so we'll start off in psalms 38. [Music] and we'll go to uh verse verse one [Music] and says oh lord rebuke me not in thy wrath neither chastened me in thy hot displeasure for thine arrows stick fast in me and thy hand presses me sore there is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger neither is this there any rest in my bones because of my sin so here david is obviously feeling some kind of conviction here from the from the holy spirit that is making him feel sorrowful for something that he did so the lord shot an arrow at him and said look this is going on you've got to deal with it and he's feeling sorrowful for it he's wanting to deal with this he's wanting to get rid of this pain this arrow this conviction that's been brought in his life he wants to deal with it and get rid of it he said god don't don't chasing me in anger you know but basically he was looking for mercy from god in this and that the arrow was more than he could bear and then we'll go to uh go to psalm 64 and we'll go to verse 3 there and then here
dave is talking about well i just start at verse one then we'll come to three hear my voice o god in my prayer preserve my life from fear of thine enemy hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity who wet their tongues like a sword and bend their bows to shoot their arrows even bitter words that they may shoot in secret at the perfect sudden secret at the perfect suddenly do they shoot at him and fear not they encourage themselves in an evil manner they commune of laying snares privily they say who shall see them they search out iniquities they accomplish a diligent search both the inward thought of every one of them and the heart is deep but god shall shoot at them with an arrow suddenly shall they be wounded so here's god shooting an arrow at the enemies we get down in verse seven here god shooting an arrow at the enemies of david trying to protect david trying to lead him in a direction he's trying to bring david in a direction so he's trying to protect him and he's then we'll go uh let's go to zechariah 9. and then we'll get verse 14 there and the lord shall be seen over them and his arrows shall go forth as the lightning and the lord god shall blow the trumpet and shall go with whirlwinds of the south and uh zechariah here is god's protection again is god protecting his people with arrows or here in this case lightning that he's sending out so god again is just he's bringing correction and he's bringing protection he's bringing the protection to his love to his people that he loves from those that are trying to attack them bring destruction on them or bring harm if you will or change the direction god has for their plan that god's plan for them is i'll get that out but uh god has he's the arrows of the lord do many many things i mean you saw inc we saw correction we saw protection and we've you know there's time after time after time
that the lord does this and uh you know there's it's just it's the way we deal with the arrows that god sends at us is is the most important things i mean i know there's you know me myself and then some of us in here have had these arrows of correction shot at us by our pastor and by by people around us and we we respond correctly you know we humble ourselves we deal with this that was going on in our lives we dealt with it in a way that brought us to where we are today i mean i can imagine looking back three years ago where i was and and knowing the correction that god was trying to bring in my life and walk away from it i mean i shuddered to think where i would be today had i not listened and followed the corrections of the lord and followed the leading of the godly people in in my life and i mean i look at people that have come and gone from our church that had the same arrows shot at them and they responded with pride and arrogance and walked away from the church in the correction of the lord and i mean there's they're still living the same way they were or if not worse so god he brings this pain of these arrows i mean could y'all imagine being shot by an arrow i mean it it'd have to hurt really bad i mean probably as bad or worse than a gunshot you know so i mean why why would you walk away from the correction that god's trying to bring knowing and especially from my perspective knowing what it did for me and then seeing other people walk away from it it pains me i mean it breaks my heart to see these people on a daily basis or see them around town and know that they're still walking in sin they're still walking after the flesh they're still not doing the things that and the that were tried to bring when they were trying to bring correction to them they're still doing those things and they're worse off but just to think where they could be had they listened i mean it's it's amazing to me that these that the arrows of the lord hurt and and people don't want to deal with them they want to keep them stuck in them walk around with them and they're miserable i mean how how many of you know people that have that you've tried to speak into their lives about deliverance or about their walk with god and they're miserable i mean you see them and you can just see the countenance on their faces just misery because the lord is trying to reach them they're under the conviction of the holy ghost from these arrows and they're
not dealing with it you know so if we deal with this stuff and get our lives right in order the way god wants us to then we can move on and we can grow spiritually i mean a scar is stronger a broken bone especially is stronger than it was before especially in that area so when god shoots arrows at us it leaves scars but we're stronger we're better off and we're able to move on with our walk with god and get to the place we need to be and this it's i just it puzzles me to know end why people don't want to do this and follow through with a plan to get them to where they need to be but you know for some reason satan has gotten a hold of them and then how many of you know that satan has arrows that he shoots at us continually i mean we were watching mythbusters not too long ago and they come up with this automatic bow and arrow shooter thing where they crank the wheel and it just shoo shoom error after air after arrow sometimes i think that sometimes that's the way i feel satan's doing me especially from the time dean told me i was preaching this saturday till a couple weeks ago whenever it was till today it's just been arrow after arrow after arrow from satan just trying to just beat me down and uh you know and i just feel like we're we're under our church the way our church is god has called our church what he's called us to do and we were constantly under this barrage of attacks from satan and the arrows that satan sends out so we'll look at a couple of scriptures talking about this arrows of satan and then we'll move to another topic dealing with the arrows of the lord again so we'll go to proverbs 25 18. and this says you know i love proverbs i mean they just short little verses of just deep profound meaning in these scriptures i mean you can just stay in it all day it says a man that bears false witness against his neighbor is a mall and a sword and a sharp arrow i mean how many times do you hear people bad mouthing people you know bad mouthing them talking you know telling lies against them something that they never had these are arrows that are sent by satan i mean whether the satan is using the people that are saying them
or or what their their arrows to to defile the person to rebuke their character to you know just to bring destruction to their lives and you know that's something you know us as christians can even do i mean i know i'm guilty of it at times for sure you know i speak something against somebody that is not true of who they are and you know we have to watch out for that because we can be an instrument of satan in this manner for sure how we speak about people that we're around you know and if you're trying to witness to somebody and then you go over here and you talk about somebody i mean you just basically killed what power you had with your witness you know so we as christians and i mean christians do it all the time or people that call themselves christians too you know either way you want to look at it you know they they talk bad they bear false witness they tell lies whether it's about somebody or about just lies period i mean they're telling lies and these are arrows from satan sent out by us by people and you know we just can't let that kind of stuff come into our lives and have let satan gain more ground and more ground and more ground i mean here we are in end times satan's gaining enough ground as it is we certainly don't want to give him more you know so we got to just we got to watch what we say and repent if we do it and and when we and go to you know especially if it's if that person hears it we have to go to them and apologize and repent to them and watch what we do you know and it's just it's very important that we not be a vessel of satan trying to walk in the holy ghost trying to walk led by the spirit and here we are being an instrument of satan i mean that's just we we can't do that i mean as hard as that is to do you know our flesh kicks in takes over and wants us to go out and just beat this person up but we we can't you know we have to show restraint and then we'll let's go to psalms 11 and uh we'll look at another verse that satan where satan is using man for his devices see i said psalm 11 verse 2. for lo the wicked bend their bow they make ready their arrow upon the string that they may privily shoot at the
upright in heart i mean i know you know hospitals are just wicked wicked places you know we've got nurses in here and we've got a firefighter and i mean these places of i don't know what it is about civil service jobs they're just you're around such unsaved wicked people and then when you're out there trying to witness in this area i mean they're they're slandering you i mean they're talking bad about you they're bending their bows to shoot their arrows at us you know i mean we're humbly saying we're fairly upright people when it comes to looking at the wicked world you know i mean we there's a lot of work we have to do but i think what god's referring to here is christians is people that seek after him people that try to live a christian holy life you know and we're upright in heart i mean we want to do things the way god leads us to but you know a lot of times our flesh gets in the way but the the people out there they i mean something we've got to be aware of that when in our prayer time that we're battling this stuff in our prayer you know we've got we've got to do spiritual warfare to battle against what people are saying against us i mean we have to break off the words and the curses spoken by people and by witches and satanists and other christians i mean we have to battle this stuff when and they've got their bow made ready to shoot at us without question and it's you know as people they know in the spirit realm we they know what we're called to do so they want to bring us down and keep us from having that fulfillment of what god's cause has called us to do i mean even the kids at schools i mean that their their peers and their friends are just always most of the time just set against them i mean if you go talk if you know i know ian's shared trying to talk to some of his classmates about jesus and stuff and you know it's just it's not a great environment for our kids to find jesus in a school system i mean we see all these these shootings in connecticut we got stuff going on in china in schools i mean it's god satan knows that if he can get god out of these schools he can get his arrows shooting at our kids from teachers and peers and this whole governmental system that runs our schools and and destroy from the foundation of our kids till they get old i mean you know train
up a child in the way he should go and he'll not depart right well they're trying to train them up to be communist and and atheist and you know god haters and we as parents in our home are trying to combat this by trying to teach them the truth get them in a church that teaches the truth you know and it's just it's a battle that we have got to stay on top of i mean even trying to keep objects out of our house you know i mean you continually find crazy stuff i mean tags on build-a-bears it's got p symbols on it you know or stuff and you're like it's a build-a-bear why do they have to put a p symbol on it you know it's arrows being sent out by satan to get into our house and in our lives you know so we it's just this battle is never going to stop it's only going to get worse so we just we have got to stay up on top of the bows made ready to send out the satanic arrows you know and then in the new testament here talking about satan sending out arrows is you know one we all should be familiar with ephesians 6 you know take up the shield of faith to quench every fiery dart of the wicked one i mean we have got to put on the armor of god every day to be able to withstand these fiery darts you know and again i talked about they light arrows on fire to shoot them out to burn things down well that's what got that's what satan's trying to do here with these fiery darts if we don't have the shield of faith to know that we have the authority over the power of the enemy that we have the ability to rebuke and bind and cast out and and deal with satan i mean i can't imagine preachers i mean the attack that i've been known for this last week i can imagine a preacher that knows nothing about spiritual warfare dealing with this and then getting up on sunday mornings and giving a message i mean the the armor of god and the quenching of the fiery darts of satan is something we've got to do daily over our families you know over our kids we have got to put the armor of god on and and know without a doubt that the faith that we have in jesus is what will protect us from satan and his his darts and will help us recognize areas that he's trying to get into our lives and to deal with it that's what quenching is deal with it you know don't let it stay in there and burn your house down that's what the fire of the arrows of satan are trying to do is burn your house down and it's just it's it's an area that we've got to be diligent you know and and our church is called to be
a church of deliverance you know we delivering people from satan from the demonic bonds and things so you know god has arrows that are designed for deliverance so if we go to second kings 13 we'll look at the arrows of deliverance from god and then we'll uh we'll start in uh it will start at verse like uh let's see where i want to start yeah we'll start at verse 14 and we'll read through 19. it says now elisha was falling sick of his sickness whereof he died so this was getting towards the end of the of elisha's life he was sick and this sickness that he's sick of now is what will he'll eventually die of later on in he says uh and joash the king of israel came down into him and wept over his face and said o my father my father the chariot of israel and the horsemen thereof and elisha said unto him take bow and arrows and he took unto him bow and arrows and he said to the king of israel put thine hand upon the boat and he put his hand upon it and elisha said put his hand upon the king's hand and he said open the window eastward and he opened it then elisha said shoot and he shot and he said the arrow of the lord's deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from syria for thou shalt smoth the syrians in aphid till thou have consumed them and then says and he said he take the arrows and he took them and he said unto the king of israel smite upon the ground and he smote thrice three times and stayed and the man of god was wroth with him was upset with him thou should have smitten five or six times then thou had thou just smitten syria five or six times but he said now that has it was where the shall smite syria but three times so because of this church being called to deliverance and we've all pretty much been through deliverance in here and it's god will deliver us from satan but you've got to be diligent you've got to go after deliverance you can't be passive about it you know you can't settle for what you think is deliverance for you and that you have to keep going i mean
if if the king would have smitten the ground 12 times you know who knows i mean they could have overcome syria 12 times but he only did it three so they only got delivered three so as we're teaching and preaching deliverance we've got to go after deliverance i mean we can say oh well you know these couple of questions on the questionnaire is all i need to answer that's all i need help from you know but that's not going after deliverance i mean god may want to do more i mean he wanted to do more he wanted to deliver them more than just three times but the king was like oh that's enough three times we'll just you know he didn't think about future later on down the road things that might come up so we've got to be diligent and going after you know and preaching deliverance and teaching deliverance i mean it's we know people that don't want to you know that need deliverance but do we preach it and teach it to them do we bring it up even you know they may need deliverance but if we only go after them just slightly or just kind of passively mention it and don't continue to to teach them and talk about it with them and and go after them about it they'll never get it i mean god wanted to deliver the israelites more than they were asked to be delivered from so people out there and they people are seeking people want to be free i mean the lady from california i mean she wants freedom from the demonic voices and whatever is going on in her head but is she willing to go really after it you know and that's what we've got you know friends of ours that's what we've got to to really hit home with them are they really willing to go after deliverance are they really willing to to ask god for more than what you think you need i mean you know do we need just deliverance from our ouija boards you know do we need deliverance from more than just our sexual sin or living together or premarital sex do we need deliverance from more than that stuff yes and that's what god wants to do he wants to deliver us from more than what we could even fathom i mean that's why the 100 question questionnaire is so important for our church and the ministry that we have here for this is because our pastor knows that god has more for us than what we can even think about i mean if i just sit down to write down something on paper for deliverance i'd write down three sentences a half a page maybe not a hundred questions you know and that's that's where he's he's telling us to smite the ground more than just three times and go after the things that we know
god has for us plus more i mean there's stuff god has for us that we can't even ask because we don't know but if we don't say god you have more for us what is it reveal it show it then he will see the king didn't even ask how many times should i smite the ground or how often you know what should i do he just did it three times and stopped and elisha was like you should have done it five or six times now you'll only get delivered from syria three so that you know that's things we've got to think about when we're talking to people ministering to people witnessing the people you know that's that's one kind of deliverance from the demonic then you know god also has deliverance from harm for us you know in first samuel uh we'll turn over their chapter 20. let's see it'd be easier for me to look it up in the bible and follow my notes this time trying to use this new technology and i'm not sure how well it's working out first samuel chapter 20. you know we'll we'll start at verse 13. it goes to the end but almost kind of skip around because there's to hit the high points here what what i want to say so first samuel chapter 20 verse 13 says the lord do so and much more to jonathan but if it pleases my let's see that's not exactly where i'm starting it says my father to do evil then i will show it thee and send thee away that thou may goest in peace and the lord be with thee as he has been with my father this is jonathan saul's son talking to david and david is out he's fearing for his life he's this is where he's going to start basically running from saul and uh it's just to give you a little more background then we'll go on to 14 that and thou shalt not only while yet i live show me the kindness of the lord that i die not so this is you know david talking back to jonathan i'll die you know unless you show me kindness and show me what your father is fixing to do he says but also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from the house forever no not when the lord hath cut off the enemies of david every one from the face of the earth so jonathan made a covenant with the house of david saying let the lord even require it at
the hand of david's enemies and jonathan calls david to swear again because he loved him for he loved him as he loved his own soul so jonathan really loved david then jonathan said to david tomorrow is the new moon and thou shalt be missed because thy seat will be empty and i will shoot three arrows on the side thereof as as though i shot at a mark and behold i will send a lad saying go find out the arrows if i expressly say unto the lad behold the arrows are on this side of thee take them then come thou for there is peace to thee and no hurt as the lord liveth so basically jonathan is telling david if i shoot arrows out and i yell out to this lad that i'm going to sin hey the arrows are let's just say on on your left then david knows that there's peace and his saul is not after him okay but then he says but if i say this unto the young man behold the arrows are beyond thee go thy way for the lord hath sent thee away so nice jonathan said if if i yell out to the lad that the arrows have gone beyond then that's the key sign for david to turn around and run and get out of dodge because it saws after him well that's exactly what happened right so we'll pick up at uh we'll pick up at verse 33. and saul cast a javelin at him to smite him talking about talking to jonathan where by jonathan knew that it was determined of his father to slay david so saul was pretty ill that david didn't show up and so jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger and did eat no meat the second day of the month for he was grieved for david because his father had done him shame and it came to pass in the morning that jonathan went out into the field at the time appointed with david and a little lad with him and he said unto his lad run and find out now the arrows which i shoot and as the lad ran he shot an arrow beyond him and when the lad was come to the place of the arrow which jonathan had shot jonathan cried cried after the lad and said is not the arrow beyond thee and jonathan cried after the lab making make speed hay stay not and jonathan's lag gathered up the arrows and came to his master but the lad knew not anything only jonathan david knew the matter and jonathan gave his artillery unto the lad and said unto him go carry them to the city so basically jonathan shot arrows directed by god to
protect david to let david know that evil is coming that your destruction is coming and so god used arrows again you know why couldn't jonathan just go out there and yell hey he's coming and david turn around run you know no it's it's that sharp pointed projectile that does harm but also can deliver us from our enemies i mean how did they fight you know they they had archery you know regimens of archery guys that shot arrows to in battle so they used arrows for war and they so jonathan was using these arrows as a signal to david to go to run to hide because saul was trying to kill him so god is god can also shoot arrows at us by somebody speaking into your life and say hey don't go here or don't do this and it may it may be going to have christmas with your family or something that that somebody says hey i really felt god say that you shouldn't go have christmas with your family well that arrow is going to hurt because you love your family you want to be around them but there's a plan that god has for you not going maybe to protect you from something i mean i know we were driving working and you know the wheel on my trailer about come off and we've gotten delayed going here and delayed for this reason all in this one two hour time span you know and it was it was painful it was like we gotta hurry and get back to work you know but it took us two hours lunch because we had one thing happen another thing happened you know the arrows from the lord you know was he protecting us from this freight from this logging truck coming down the road that might swerve over into our lane and kill us you know even though that was frustrating for me to see the delay after delay after delay you know i mean a wheel about fall off on the trailer going down the road at 40 miles an hour you know and things like that i mean who's to say that wasn't arrows from the lord to stall us to prevent us from being somewhere at a certain time painful yeah because i'm just one of these that you know early is on time on time is late and late it's unexcusable kind of things you know so i just it aggravates me to death but was that arrows from the lord to delay us from harm
just like david was being told you're going to get harmed if you come back here and they used arrows for a signal you know so i think we as a church have got to just take take peace in knowing that god is is protecting us that god has arrows that are designed to do certain things in our lives and for us and you know that psalm we were saying you know if our god is for us who can be against us you know if god is for us and he's protecting us with his arrows and with with his people being around us i mean that's why it's important to come to church and when we come we get strength from one another we come and we get a word from from our preacher or pastor and we get these things that god is doing in our lives we've got to you know not every arrow is from satan and not every arrow is from god so it's just i hope this helps you recognize when things are going on in your life where it might be coming from and how to handle it or deal with it or pray against it or pray for it you know it's just god has so much for us as a church he protects us he watches over us he points us in directions he you know he does all this stuff and we just we need to take some time and just realize where it's coming from you know if we're out and about and people are talking bad or gossiping or whatever you know we know we should stay away from that you know but if people are preaching the gospel and teaching then we should we should migrate to that you know it's you know in the world not of the world kind of thing you know it is god has for us deliverance protection satan has for us nothing but destruction so how do we recognize those three types of arrows being shot at us and i hope this helps y'all this morning and i know it's helped me studying this through to be able to recognize thoughts in my head that are not from god and the arrows from satan the fiery darts that ephesians 6 talks about you know so i just uh i pray for y'all i hope y'all got something out of it and god bless amen you know i remember years ago goodness i'm loud um i remember years ago and you know i don't think i i hadn't heard
it since i hadn't seen it since but steve hill at the brownsville revival did a sermon on the arrows of the lord and it was really great you should have brought an arrow man walked around with it but anyway i was thinking about that but you know it's true i mean and remember this you know and i i appreciate uh kevin reminding us all look satan's going to shoot his arrows you got to put on the armor every day i mean it's a real thing you need to do and i i can assure you if i asked everybody and you to honestly tell me and if i ask you do you put the armor of god on every day no i would hear no i don't you know what i'm saying you need to do it in the name of jesus you need to bind the devil every day you need to break curses off of yourself every day you need to fight these darks again that's what it says the shield of faith quenches the fiery darts of the wicked right but what is faith without works dead that means guess what you know in a in a fight and if you have a shield it's not just having the shield that does something it's moving it it's using it you know you have to see where the arrow's coming you have to quench it that's what he's saying use your faith use what you know use the bible use the word of god use your faith in the word speak the word believe the word fight these things put these darts out i really like that that illustration the fiery darts are to burn your house down and what is he talking about your house your physical house no he's talking about to burn down your family to burn down and destroy your spiritual house to burn down and tear you down so you know um it's something to think about you've got to stay on top of the spiritual warfare thing and i love it you know i mean again i love the the the the uh typology or whatever you want to say that the lord uses about his conviction as being arrows it's not always comfortable when we're struggling with something we're wearing some sin or the flesh is getting a hold of us and whether it's fear or lust or whatever and god shoots an arrow at us and most of the time he'll use somebody else i mean yeah god will sometimes just convict you of sin but sometimes he'll use somebody else he'll use a brother or sister to come up and share something with you or a sermon that you hear preached in church and guess what it's not going to feel good it's not going to feel good if you don't want to deal with that thing right i mean we already know that there's folks right now arrows stuck in them and they won't they won't deal with it but the good news is god sticks us with these things with conviction so we'll deal with it so good word i hope you take it to heart this morning start looking at where where are devil where are the devils darts and arrows getting through into my life where do i need to quench those where is god sticking some arrows in me then i have some things i need to deal with and i need to change i'm going to tell you one thing i felt
as we were into this and really he didn't even go into this but i was thinking you know what we forget that part of the armor of god he says put on the armor of god right the whole armor of god that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil but he gives this list of the things we're supposed to put on and then he ends it with this word praying always with all kinds of prayer and supplication in the spirit praying and i want to be honest with you i saw some heads nod when i said i bet you don't put on the armor every day and some people were but let me tell you what i feel has been slipping with the busyness of the holiday season and everything and i can feel it when we start slipping as a church but prayer lives is starting to slip and i'm not just talking about coming to prayer meeting i'm more concerned with your private prayer time than i am you being at wednesday night prayer you understand you've got to have that quality time with the lord and i don't care listen y'all young ones listen to me all of you it's not just the adults i'm talking to you can turn off the video game turn off the tv put down the toys and go spend some time with the lord in prayer and pray for your pastor and pray for your mom and dad and pray for your family and pray for your friends do you do that see the most important thing you have to do to have a relationship with god is spend time with him amen so listen i know the the holiday season gets busy and it's and and we're we're still right in the middle of it we're still got to go through christmas and we still got to go through new year's and all those things and family will be some family will be coming in to see us sometimes we're going to see them and all this stuff listen don't let your prayer life slip you hear me because uh the enemy doesn't care whether it's holiday season or not hear him saying he's the same every day right so listen i'm going to ask all of you young ones especially the older ones should know this i want you to really make it a point especially you're gonna have time with christmas break coming up spend some time praying fasting pray for your church pray for everybody in the church pray for your family members that are not saved spend some time talking to the lord listen look at me all of you put god first put god first isn't your entire christmas break and see what happens amen and listen we'll quench some darts do you know i gotta read a verse where where's my bible it's back there let me see one i think it's psalm 127 but if it's not i'll find it
psalm 127 hang on we need to read this because i feel this is for the for our our young ones here our children [Music] goodness i'm not used to tabs or just freaking me okay [Music] so let me see if i'm right here let me get there 127. yes psalm 127 listen to this young people [Music] this is why i think the lord just laid this on my heart for you here's one psalm 127 he said except the lord builds the house they labor in vain who build it except the lord keeps the city the watchman wakes but in vain it is vain for you to rise up early to take rest late to eat the bread of toil for he gives you blessings he gives his beloved sleep but look what he says in verse 3 behold children are a heritage from the lord and the fruit of the womb a reward as arrows in the hand of the warrior so are the children of one's youth listen you are actually supposed to be as young people arrows or weapons for the lord to even help your family you hear me i'm serious ever ever all you young people say this with me here i am a weapon for the lord against the devil for my family now listen to me close you'll either be a weapon for the lord or you'll be a problem for the lord and your family which are you hmm do you want me a weapon for the lord and help your family you're going to be a problem for your family all right be a weapon amen hallelujah let's pray father we thank you for your word we thank you for the truth of scripture we thank you for the holy spirit who leads us and guides us in all truth we thank you lord for the arrows of conviction we thank you for the arrows of deliverance we thank you for the arrows god that you give us to fight the enemy and we thank you for the ability in the name of jesus and through the armor of god and through the truth of scripture and through the power of prayer that we can quench the fiery darts of satan trying to destroy us and our and our families lord i pray that you just put this in everyone's heart to become warriors to become lord truly weapons in your hand against satan so that we can see our families delivered set free lord i pray you bless everyone in this room god from the from the youngest to the oldest touch everyone and make us more lord more able
god to respond correctly to your arrows and to quench the devils lord i pray that this morning and i thank you for it in jesus name amen and amen
