we glorify the name above every name the name Jesus Lord we thank you so much Lord that you long for us to draw near to you you long for us to go deeper into the things of the spirit into the realm of the spirit father I ask you today to speak to our hearts change our lives put within us a desire and not just a desire Lord but the discipline to dig deeper to go further to truly become Christian people that are led by the Holy Spirit more than anything else father we pray that today in Jesus name amen amen you may be seated this morning we welcome you to Fire and Grace Church visitors this morning those listening by Blog Talk Radio we welcome you uh I'm Pastor Dean odle so you'll just have to mingle around and meet everybody else later I want everybody to turn this morning first we're going to turn to um let's turn to first Thessalonians chapter 5. first Thessalonians chapter five today I'm gonna share just a little bit about asking the question are you really led by the holy spirit because and what did I say first Thessalonians my mind's just thinking on so many things um and for those of you who maybe want to go back and do a little homework this is kind of a continuation of a message I did about a year ago called the soulish Christian I believe it's on iTunes it's also on Soundcloud just you can type in www.soundcloud.com forward slash my name deanodle and it'll take you to it you have to scroll down uh some people like SoundCloud some people like iTunes um but anyway um this is something I think that we always need to revisit because you know the Bible is very clear and we're going to go there in a minute but in Romans chapter 8 says that the sons of God and that means the Sons and Daughters of God are led by the spirit of God okay but too many times what I'm discovering is that most Christians are rarely led by the spirit of God they're led by the flesh they're led by their own mind their own emotions their own will
or even the devil demon spirits and really that shouldn't be the case especially if you've been a Christian for any amount of time we really should be a people dominated by are allowing of course the Holy Spirit to dominate and flow through our lives and I bring this up and I'm going to explain this because you know we have had quite the battle the last couple of weeks both in our home with sickness like we haven't had in a very very long time but also externally but at the same time let me let me share this testimony with you I won't give out the name just yet because this is so public but you know we're going through these different various battles uh even the battles we have with our old house and we go through these battles and um what was beautiful is uh what was it was it yesterday it was uh Friday it was Friday when I was I was getting ready to head to work to go you know fix a little problem on a job that I was doing and so right before I left around lunchtime I get a phone call and someone that Nancy and I have been praying for and even some of you I'm not going to tell you yet because I'm gonna let them come to church but we've been praying for this person for a long time been witnessing to this person and they called me on the phone in tears choked up saying I want to get saved and just said you know the guy told me he said you know he said you know I have been getting my life in order I've been doing a lot of things better A lot of things different but I knew it wasn't enough and he goes I knew something's missing and I said yeah because if being a good person alone or trying to do better was enough to get you right with God and get you on the way to heaven then Jesus didn't have to die on the cross for our sins I said so being good is not going to save you I said it's good to be good don't get me wrong but that alone will not save you you must believe in Jesus Christ that he died on the cross for your sins and rose from the dead and I I explained to him you know it's becoming a disciple and he understood that and let him in the prayer over the phone to accept Jesus to ask for forgiveness of his sins the power of God was all over it um but that's what I'm saying you know what I and I wrote this on Facebook I said I've discovered that even though you have you may be going through periods of difficulty internal strife or internal battles external you may be going through all these things but you know the Lord's strength is made perfect in
weakness and when you think you you've got nothing here he comes somebody you've been witnessing to for three or four years and they I want to get saved you're like wow okay Lord you know thank you um within this battle time period of course I shared last Sunday and I shared Tuesday night on our radio program a time that I had in prayer last Saturday night not this not last night was the Saturday before and how I really wasn't praying about the United States of America I wasn't praying about the election in fact you know I was so done with being deceived and lied to by politicians that I pretty much said I don't trust any of them and I don't care about any of them but I was praying and this is what I'm going to talk about the more the difference between being led by the holy spirit being led by your own understanding or your own emotions and I'm I'm in prayer and the Holy Spirit comes all over in prayer and uh of course I've already made some people mad with this but I can only share what the Holy Spirit does and tells me to share right you can like it you cannot like it it's not my problem after that um but I'm praying and the Holy Spirit comes over me and just you know moves me into this time of Supernatural just intercession just his presence and Glory all of me I'm I'm weeping tears I'm praying for America I know we're going to be judged I know that there's wrath and enemies coming and attacks coming and uh economic collapses coming we've got we got all kind of troubles coming our way war is coming World War Three is coming and we got all these troubles coming our way we've got enemies within we've got we've we've got Traders within our our country within our government they're trying to flood more of these dangerous Muslims into our country and so we're in a precarious situation we're in a you know as Paul said the last days would be perilous or dangerous times to live in um but the Holy Spirit moved on me to pray the prayer of the Prophet habakkuk or habakkuk however you want to say it people say a different way but chapter three where he said Lord I heard your speech I heard what you were saying and this was particularly about the time of the Babylonian invasion of Israel because Israel had given themselves the children of God the people of God had given themselves over to idolatry paganism uh adultery fornication just they just giving themselves over to sin and God said okay I'm going to let your enemies come the Babylonians are going to come and they're going to destroy the temple
they're going to take over your land and you're going to be in captivity for 70 years and the prophet heard this and he knew when God speaks this kind of thing it's going to happen when there's certain prophecies I said last week they're written in stone they're going to happen we can't stop them judgment is Coming To America that is coming and it's coming to the whole world we're going to enter into the Great Tribulation and yes all Christians are going to be here no pre-tribulation Rapture get that out of your head we're going to be here Bible says it's clear as crystal clear okay um but having said that I the the prophet prayed in Lord I heard your speech and I was afraid he says but in Wrath even in your wrath remember mercy and revive your work in the midst of those years and see I do believe there's going to be a move of God there's going to be a Revival in the midst of God's Wrath being poured out and his hand being taken off and just allowing our enemies to have their way a bit I saw America as I prayed and as I moved into the spirit the spirit into and seeing into the spirit realm a vision I saw America as a battered Fortress but that we would stand if you need to hear what I'm about to say if the people of God would quit being led by their own understanding and their emotions and hear and see what the holy spirit is saying and begin to pray God's will be done and part of that was God gave me a vision and showed me Donald Trump and God showed me and spoke to me very clearly and he said I am turning his heart toward me and I'm turning his heart toward my people both the children of Israel and Christians he will protect Christians he will protect Israel and I will turn his heart more and more toward me my hand is upon him the spirit of jehuah is upon him and the Lord showed me though it is not a given that he will become president of the United States it is up to the people of God to see through the liars the deceivers and even the ones that God has not chosen and pray for this man and pray for our country like we never have before because the Lord showed me that depending on this coming election for America it's going to go one of two ways it's either going to go bad but we end up standing is that battered Fortress or it's going to go very bad and you don't want me to talk about very bad okay so you can say well Dean I think pastors or should get political and you you
never been real political it's been a long time it's not about being political I can tell you the holy spirit of God came on me and that's what I saw and that's what he said to me and I want to remind everybody I'm not saying Donald Trump will become president because it is not a given we must pray that's why Jesus said we must pray first of all we must find out his will and then we must pray his will be done on Earth as it is in heaven if if it wasn't important for us to pray then Jesus would not have instructed us to pray his will be done on Earth as it is in heaven we know it's God's will that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth but they're not all going to be saved so this idea of this calvinistic idea that God's Will has always done is not true God's will can be resisted God's will the Holy Spirit can be quenched if we sit back and do nothing if we don't pray if we don't fast and if we don't hear from God things will go much differently in our lives amen so today what I'm going to talk about and kind of it's in this realm but I've been making people mad already a bunch of Christians then get mad well Donald Trump well he's a little rough around the edges yeah so am I right I thank God he's not an effeminate man you know I saw him and I appreciate this because you know what's amazing is I don't really pay much attention to him over the years but some of the things he's saying I I have said If I Was President it's what I'd do real simple our enemies would be terrified there would be a wall Bill and Mexico would pay for it and me and Vladimir Putin would get along because I understand superpower has their lines and us as a super out we have our line and if we respect each other's lines we can get along we start meddling in each other's backyards people get mad and people with thousands and thousands and thousands of nuclear weapons don't need to get mad at each other right so I agree with a lot of stuff he says I don't agree with everything but that's irrelevant and so there was this particular friend of ours Christian lady and I'll call her a Ted Cruz groupie and um and I don't follow her for this look I I was fooled by George W bush in 2000. I thought he was a real conservative I thought he was a real Christian I believe that lie I was a naive Christian
like many are today so I'm not judging and being mean to other Christians uh that don't see this but you know I I was looking at the problems with Trump and with Ted Cruz and with Ben Carson you know everybody thinks Ben Carson's a Christian he don't even believe that there's going to be a Rapture he doesn't believe there's a literal hell um he's for mandatory vaccines he's you know for semi-gun control he's but bottom line I've been sitting there going you know we we as Christians have to stop listening to people own understanding this is our problem we listen to preachers we listen to other Christians we listen and they go oh they said they love Jesus or they said they're saved and we forget Jesus said that many will come in my name and deceive many you know so we can't just look at what they say right and sometimes it may even appear they may even appear to be what they say they are but deceivers are very good at what they do and this is why I'm saying today about being led by the spirit you have got to be able to see beyond the natural realm as a Christian you have to the word discern or discernment means not just to perceive or distinguish what's going on in the spirit realm it also means to see okay and trust me there's a bunch of Christians in this world that need to start seeing through some deceivers I mean there's actually people that still believe the Pope that Pope Francis is a real Christian a humble and sweet and peaceful man he is a deceiver he is a liar he is a blasphemer he's a merry worshiper he he appears like a lamb but he is speaks as the Dragon but we got many Christians that think oh he's wonderful we've got to start discerning and and listen to me that's only possible if you go deeper in the realm of the spirit and the spirit Realm now I want to show you this and this is first Thessalonians chapter five I hadn't forgotten verse 23 and really we can back up let's look at verse 19 Quince not the spirit means you can see John Calvin was wrong about that he said you can't you couldn't Grant's not the spirit despise not prophesying that means inspired utterance of of the Holy Spirit prove all things hold fast to that which
is good abstain from all appearance of evil and look at verse 23 and the Very God of Peace sanctify you holy or completely and I pray God that your Holy Spirit soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ I taught this in the soulish Christian but I want you to understand today because we have new listeners all the time we have new people here today every human being has three parts just like God is one being who has three distinct parts we are created in His image every human being has a spirit in the Greek the word Numa has a soul in the Greek the word suke and a body in the Greek Soma okay those are three different words a lot of people think the spirit and soul is the same thing absolutely not three very different distinct parts that make up you all right now I'm going to give you a breakdown of these a quick this morning because I've really already covered this but you have a spirit a soul and a body now let's break it down your body well you know you have many parts to your body you have one body but many different parts right that all work together well your soul has many different parts that work together but it's one Soul your soul is your mind you need to write these Downs if you never have your mind your will and your emotions your intellect your personality it is really what makes you you let me explain that everybody has a spirit and everybody has a body but what makes you uniquely you as your soul your consciousness it's the you it's the unique part of you right all right so you have your spirit soul and body now your spirit just remember that mind will where you make decisions your intellect your emotions and then you have your spirit now your spirit covers these areas your conscience the Bible speaks about your conscience can be seared with a heart on your conscience is where you instinctively know right and wrong okay this is what the Bible talks about Romans 2 that this that God wrote his law in everyone's heart it's written in our hearts engraved in us that's why we could go and find a lost tribe in the jungles of Mexico or or somewhere in Africa or or out in the in Australia we can find a tribe that's never been around civilization and they will know adulteries wrong stealings wrong
murder's wrong right we all know right and wrong so that's our conscience that's in our spirit also within our spirit man is our intuition now this is when we are able to perceive things when we have no evidence in the natural realm to prove it you just know you know the old-timers you say you just know that you know you know that you know that you know you just know it you don't know why you know it you just know it right your intuition is really also where the gifts of the Spirit were because the gifts of the holy spirit operate in our spirit and then it's transmitted to our soul you understand that I want to prove that in a minute I'll prove it in a second but your spirit is a conscious intuition and it's also the area where you worship or commune or communicate with God you hear me now the problem with us is that the poor soul man poor soul is stuck in the middle the flesh only wants to do evil that's what Paul revealed in Romans 7 he says My Flesh he said nothing nothing good dwells in my flesh he said when I want to do good evil is present with me always why because it's in the flesh the flesh is sold to sin it is sold to the devil so you got a traitor among you in your own life your trainers your flesh your flesh wants to sin it loves to sin it longs to sin it desires it it hungers it thirsts after it that's all the flesh wants to do is what it shouldn't do it's a it hates the law of God it hates the word of God it hates the truth of God it hates the restrictions the boundaries it wants to be a rebel and indulge everything right the spirit Jesus said if you're born again Christian and I remember it's a big if if you're a born-again Christian Jesus spoke about the spirit he said the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak right so the spirit in us that's been raised to life regenerated born again wants to always do the will of God the law of God and what the spirit of God wants us to do so we got a war in our members war against the law of our mind as Paul said right there's a war everybody know what I'm talking about if you're a Christian you understand this war if you're not a Christian you don't understand this war because you give into it all the time and you don't really want to do what's right you don't have the power to do it anyway
but the soul now I'm going to give you this scripture here just kind of lay the foundation before we get into it a little deeper but proverbs 3. Proverbs three oh if I could just get Christians to believe this right here Proverbs three y'all with me hey everybody I think this is probably one of the most memorized two passages uh two scriptures Proverbs 3 5 and 6. now listen to it trust in the Lord with all thine hearts and lean not unto thine own understanding in all thy ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct thy path lean not to your own understanding right let me give you another one Isaiah 55 8-9 I want you if you want to turn to I'm going to give you a second Isaiah 55 8-9 these ought to be familiar to everybody the ones people love to post on Facebook but they don't live them just because you posted on Facebook doesn't mean you're doing it say Amen or o me right Isaiah 55 8-9 for my thoughts are not your thoughts neither are your ways my ways saith the Lord for as the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts look at Isaiah 65 2. this is what God said about his own people and it applies to the church today I'm telling you I've been doing this a long time Isaiah 65 2 the Lord speaking he says I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people which walketh in a way that is not good after their own thoughts now everybody turn to Hebrews 4 verse 12. I want to show you the pattern here I wanted you to get this because God says through Solomon by the Holy Spirit trust in the Lord with all your heart now your heart is really your spirit when you see the term heart nine times out of ten it's referring to your spirit man deep within you the intuition the conscience the area of worship where are you communion with God that's the only place really where the truth dwell okay when you're when you're walking in the truth of God's word and you have the
spirit of God in you because your mind will deceive you this is where Satan operates this is where the flesh operates there's a lot of things going on up here in the head right in the brain in the intellect and that's why first and foremost because we're talking about being led by the spirit this morning first and foremost I need to get this dealt with right here Hebrews 4 verse 12. this is the first key of being led by the spirit if I want to be led by the spirit instead of by the by the flesh or by the mind your own understanding here's the first thing you've got to do it says the word of God for the word of God is quick or alive and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword piercing even to the dividing asunder of Soul and Spirit now why would God have to say you need the word of God to divide between what is Soul and Spirit it's obviously he's telling you one's good and one's not so good sometimes right so you need the word of God and this is when he says word of God here is the logos that's the written scriptures two words for the word of God in the Bible the logos and the Rhema we'll talk about that in a second but he says right here the word of God is the dividing asunder of the Soul and Spirit the joints and Marrow it is a discerner of the thoughts and the intent of the heart now I want to say this to you your heart okay is also trapped in the map okay remember he talks about Jeremiah talks about your heart can be deceitful and desperately wicked your heart kind of can lean in either of the two directions that it wants to go in but notice when it says the word of God the logos the Bible the written scripture the inspired word of God is the discerner it's the distinguisher it helps you to decide what is of the Soul ways of your own understanding your own mind your own will your own thoughts and what is the thoughts of the Lord and in the matter okay so let me tell you this if you won't read your Bible study your Bible and obey the Bible forget trying to be led by the Holy Spirit you understand because the Bible says he will guide us into all truth and Jesus said very plainly in John 17 Thy word is true Thy word is a lamp unto my feet a light unto my path King David's wrote Psalm 119 verse 105 the word of God is the first step in being led by the spirit so so hear what I'm saying if you will obey the scriptures you're taking the
first step in being led by the Holy Spirit but that's not the only step all right because for instance there's nowhere in the Bible that it's written Dean odle go to Auburn Alabama and start a church while I was living in Washington DC passionate Church in Washington D.C the Lord saw me in November at the beginning of November he said they're going to fire you on November 30th and when they do I want you to go to Alabama to Auburn and start a church that was in November of 2008 heard those words in my spirit God transmitted them to my mind I had the witness of the Holy Spirit I knew it was from him but in the natural I was wrestling with that I was settled in about to move in a house my wife had resigned her job in Georgia but guess what November 30th I got fired if I would listen I would have saved myself money because I would have bought a one-way ticket on air tram instead of a round-trip ticket but I didn't I doubted what I was hearing but I was fired on November 3rd they actually sent the email to me while I'm back in Georgia for Thanksgiving break they sent the email we're terminating our contract with you effective November 30th and it was like the 28th or 29th something like that I was like huh well I don't have to fly back to DC right now I have to drive there and get my stuff but that was God but you see what I'm saying God wants us to be led by the Holy Spirit well the only way you're going to be able to be led by the holy spirit is you're going to have to be in the spirit more than you're in the flesh and more than you're in leaning to your own understanding and this is just not what we seek after okay but I'm just wanna I'm gonna say this today we have got to be people who begin to discern more between what is our own thoughts our own understanding our own ideas our own agenda our own knowledge versus walking in the spirit a lot of times when God speaks to you and Reveals His will in the spirit it is going to be completely contrary to what your mind is thinking in the natural and what you think is even logical
you understand what I'm saying how many times this has happened to me I cannot tell you where my own understanding says this is crazy but the Lord said do it and it's always better to do what the Lord says amen now let me show you a couple of things real quick go to Matthew 16. y'all there yet you know we're fast time for sword drills familiar passage of scripture here Matthew chapter 16. and we're going to look at Matthew chapter 17 too because I want to show you something listen to me God wants to take you deeper in the spirit Realm than you even know he wants to take can you hear me let me show you here we are Matthew 16 verse 13 when Jesus came into the coast of caesarea Philippi he asked his disciples saying who do men say that I the son of man am and they said some say that thou art John the Baptist some Elijah and others Jeremiah the prophet now I want you to get this right here before we go any further because I want you to get the understanding that the disciples in the natural realm they were hearing all these different ideas from people the multitude wondering is Jesus John the Baptist is he Jeremiah is he Elijah is he one of the prophets they're hearing all these things they're hearing the Pharisees saying is he Elijah is he the Christ who is he and this is people leaning to their own understanding so that's why Jesus to his disciples pose the question about so so we hear what everybody else thinks you know we hear what everybody else says what do you think who do you think I right and of course we know that Peter verse 16 Simon Peter answered and said Thou Art the Christ the son of the Living God and Jesus answered and said unto him blessed art thou Simon barjonah for Flesh and Blood hath not revealed it unto thee but my Father which is in heaven flesh and blood basically what he's saying is no person no person's opinion no ideas no popular consensus no you got this revealed to you not by your own knowledge not by your flesh
but my Father revealed it to your spirit and it just gushed out of it right I don't believe Peter even understood what he was saying how do we know this because it keeps on and Jesus starts talking about I'm going to be crucified Oh no you're not Lord then he has to say get behind me Satan you notice how he went from the spirit to his own understanding and his emotions you see that in one chapter in just one moment Peter's in the in the spirit speaking what the Holy Spirit spoke to his Spirit he didn't even understand it in his mind fully Jesus starts talking about I'm going to be crucified oh no no no Lord that's not you Jesus has to get behind me Satan your defense to me you Savor the things that are of men of God listen I I'm going to tell you this this is a picture I love the Bible it's honest this is a picture of Christians right here one minute they can get something in the Holy Ghost and the next minute they get something from the devil or the Flesh in their own understanding now granted think about this Peter at the time wasn't even regenerated yet he wasn't even born again yet he didn't even have the baptism and the fullness of the holy spirit yet but look at this I want to tell you something so so from here though jesus takes them look at Matthew 17. verse 1 and after six days Jesus taketh Peter James and John his brother and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart and was transfigured before them and his face did shine as the sun and his reignment is what was white as the light and behold there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with him then answered Peter and said unto Jesus Lord it is good for us to be here if thou Wilt let us make three Tabernacles one for thee and one for Moses one for Elijah and while he yet spake Behold a bright Cloud overshadowed them and behold the voice out of the cloud which said this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased hear ye him and when the disciples heard it they fell on their faces and were sore afraid and Jesus came and touched them and said arise Be not Afraid and when they had lifted up their eyes they saw no man save Jesus only and as they came down from the mountain Jesus charged them saying tell the vision to no man until the son of man be risen again from the dead now think about this you think this is this kind of thing is only for the apostles and I'm trying to tell you today that it is not remember it said Jesus take you know what Jesus did he said Peter James John come with me we're going up to the mountain now they could have said Lord we got to go to town and buy food or we got we don't have time right now don't you see all these people around us how many times is Jesus tugging on you get up let's go go pray let's go up to the map
we keep sleeping or keep watching TV I keep playing our video yeah or scrolling through Facebook for the 10th time and Jesus is saying come up here let me tell you something I wouldn't have had that time in the spirit last Saturday night I wouldn't have had that time where I entered into the spirit realm saw the Spirit realm heard the voice of God saw the vision of God if I hadn't been taking the time to pray if I'd have been watching a football game or playing video games or taking a nap you get what I'm saying and I love how Jesus was teaching them you come spend time with me you never know what's gonna happen but you got to spend time with me the Lord said you're going to spend time with me if you're ever going to see into the realm of the spirit if you're going to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit if you're going to see reality and see he had just asked him who do men say that I am and some say your John the Baptist some say you're Elijah Jeremiah what was Jesus taking him he was even showing them even deeper no I'm not Elijah I'm not John the Baptist I'm not a man I am the cry I'm going to show you even more I'm going to reveal it to you I'm going to show you Elijah and Moses talking with me because I am the Lord of creation I am the word made flesh I am God In the Flesh I am the Chris you're going to see my glory you're going to see the reality that that the the Dead live in me listen to me you've got to have more in your Christian Life and your Christian walk than just head knowledge of scripture or doctrine or or whatever you've got to know him you've got to hear him you've got to be led by the spirit of God and listen there's even the Bible gives two different Greek words for knowledge one word is knowledge gained by our observance through our eyes and our ears and whatever it's gained by systematic study another one is a knowledge gain by spiritual experience we have to have both there's a lot of people study their Bible that's why second Timothy chapter three I think it's verse 7 where he says there are people ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth there are people he says who have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof what he's saying is is that they they they appear to be religious they appear to be Christian they have a form of
dollars but it has no power to it because there's no deeper revelation of the spirit realm there's no interaction in communion with God and therefore all they have is knowledge in their head and they lead to their own understanding all the time and listen the only thing that can put together Bible knowledge and really make you understand it is intimacy and interaction and communion and Supernatural Holy Ghost Revelation because you're spending time with God and it's the only way you're going to discern when you're leaning to your own understanding or you're believing the crowd let me just say this if you're being led by the Holy Spirit 99 times out of 100 you will be going the opposite direction amongst Christians I know I hate to sound mean but the Ted Cruz groupies are being deceived I mean we don't even have to bring up the Hillary and burning supporters and then you know Ted's biggest endorsement is a Mormon and yet Christians are going dad you will save us and you will save us no he won't and I'm sorry and and again I'm not being mean you know what again I said I was fooled by George Bush George W in 2000 I was full didn't take long for me to wake up but also a lot of people were fooled by Barack Obama said he was a Christian I'm like one thing we can know for sure is he's not a Christian you know I wondered back then I didn't know if he was a Muslim or not but now we know he's a Muslim and what blows me away there's still people still believe that he's a Christian and he said you know he even said in his book what was it the audacity of Hope he said if ever the political win shift in a different direction I will stand with the Muslims that is not the words of a Christian man all somebody's got to do nowadays they say I love Jesus I'm a Christian again yeah unless it's Trump it's funny they don't believe him and you know what Trump may not be saved that's not even not the issue I brought it up on the radio show 150 years hear me

to pass us we went to prayer a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us which brought her Masters much gained by sooths saying the same followed Paul and us and cried saying these men are Servants of the most high God which show unto us the way of salvation and this she did many days but Paul being grieved turned and said to the spirit I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her and he came out the same hour now of course we're hearing the story from from Luke writing this down after the fact Luke was there with him and Luke's writing this after the fact I don't believe that they knew that the woman was of the pythian witches I don't believe they knew that at first because it says that she followed them many days now why would Paul the Apostle allow a witch with a spirit of divination to follow along with their Ministry for many days if I knew it on the first day I wouldn't allow it you get what I'm saying and she was speaking what what she was speaking what's the truth she said these men are Servants of the most high God which show us the way of Salvation she said nothing erroneous or false or deceptive or anything many days she did this and maybe that's why they were allowed that Paul allowed her it's like well she's not saying anything wrong sounds right Teddy boy sounds right George W in 2000 I'm a compassionate conservative I got saved walking with Billy Gray I'm on the beach and come to find out you're homosexual you're a pedophile you're evil Satanist luciferian family having your homo boyfriend at the White House every every other day oh yeah not just Obama you know at least one thing we could say about Bill Clinton we know he likes women only positive there but it says she did this many days and it says Paul being grieved now will that what that means is finally in his Spirit man he was hearing what she was saying with his own understanding and it sounded right so he didn't do anything about her but
once his Spirit discerned perceived that it was a spirit of divination immediately he commanded the spirit to come out of her to stop her infiltration attempt of their Ministry can I just tell you the devil knows to deceive us whether it be in the church realm the political Realm whatever it be he knows that he's got to talk right he's got to say some things that are true that are right that are correct he's got the sound like someone you would trust and if you're not led by the Holy Spirit walking in the Holy Spirit if you're not deeper in the Holy the things of the Holy Spirit you will not perceive it you will not discern it you will not figure it out and I'm just telling you this is this is probably one of the biggest problems in what we even call this Spirit-filled church the Pentecostal Church the people that are supposed to be walking in the Holy Spirit because let me tell you what it takes to walk in the Holy Spirit to be led by the Holy Spirit you've got to be willing to spend time in the word of God reading and studying and meditating the word of God you've got to be a person of Prayer you got to spend some time on the mountain you've also going to have to spend time fasting as God's Direction you're going to have to be someone who already obeys what you know to obey James chapter 1. says very clearly if you hear the word of God and you don't do it you're gonna you deceive yourself think about that the devil doesn't even have to deceive him right now listen to me and I've shared this many times God speaks different ways number one he speaks through the word the written word of God he will illuminate it he will direct you in passages and things he will speak to you primarily number one through the word of God I had the Lord do this the other day he directed me I had some situations going on and I just happened to pull up I picked up the iPad and I had it open the Blue Letter Bible thing I had it open to Psalm 104 and I got up early early one morning and I just started reading Psalm 104 and I read through about Psalm 109 and I can't tell you how many times God's answered this question and spoke to me about this but I mean every question I had he answered within those songs that I read blew my mind I'm like gracious I mean the Holy Spirit took
those words that I've read many many times but he illuminated them and spoke to me through what I was reading I mean specifically answered my question remember this question remember what that person said remember whatever here's your answer I was like Blown Away wow but if I hadn't got up early and spent time reading those chapters I wouldn't heard from God see what I'm saying I just went on my way dealing with it in My Own Strength with my own understanding In the Flesh in the soul right the second way God speaks to you is by what we just revealed here that grieve you'll feel a heaviness you'll feel a check some people call check old Pentecostals you call it the red light green light as a Colossians 3 15 let the peace of God rule your heart listen to me sometimes sometimes God's warnings is Jack the peace the the grief sometimes it's subtle and sometimes it's just to get you to say whoa wait a minute maybe I need to reevaluate the situation this person this place if I need to reevaluate but I can tell you this much every time God has given me that grieve or that heaviness in my spirit about a decision or a person or a church or a pastor or somebody I should be involved with or not be involved with every single time I've violated that I got the check degree every single time that I went ahead problems and pain problems big problems I'll give you one simple one listen to this I I was living in Montgomery and I was going to a a I walked into a dentist office I had you know I think the insurance change is something it was years ago and I and I went to a new dentist and when I walked into the office the Holy Spirit I got grieved in my spirit I said hmm but I had a I had a Tuesday I had a cavity or something it was hurting me so I ignored the spirit and lean to my own understanding well you know who knows what this is so you know what happened I let that dentist even though the whole time my spirit was heavy and grieved it's like get out of here well little did I know she drilled into this tooth and she drilled a little too far and she killed the nerve of the tooth and then filled it you know it took years it took several years before all of a sudden I'm getting ready to go to Africa to preach all of a sudden I'm starting
to have all this pain in this tooth I go to a real dentist a friend of mine I grew up with Christian he's like yep she killed her too dead I went through money pain suffering because if I just listen to the Holy Spirit and turn around and walked out it wouldn't happen now I know that's something simple but if you don't have money to spend on caps and uh root canals and you know what I'm saying it up to Africa and everything else and thank God it was enough time to deal with it before I went to Africa I got to Nigeria and I oh Lord and then all of a sudden you see but I know that's something simple but it can get much worse and in the days ahead evil people in evil situations are it's going to get more and more dangerous and you better be listening don't make up just okay listen may not have any understanding about it on the outside you may have no outside evidence but if you are listening and you've made yourself sensitive to the Holy Spirit he's going to direct your steps remember lean not to your own understanding trust the Lord I mean not your understanding in all your ways by going to the dentist Pastor Dean listen so what I give you the word the peace Colossians 3 15 let the peace of God rule your heart the word rule there means be the Umpire call it safe for out God will speak in a steal small voice literally you hear words but not like you hear me it's so quiet and subtle it's in your spirit and then it's transmitted to your mind but it'll be it could be whole sentences be a whole paragraph but you it just the Lord overrides your own thoughts and you just know he's speaking to you I've had him speak to me so clearly son a b c and d just tell me this is how it was Pastor they don't believe that John 16. when he the spirit of Truth has come he will guide you into all truth he will not speak of himself but that which he hears he will speak and he will show you things to come he will take his mind and he will speak to you my sheep hear my voice John 10 27. my sheep hear my voice and they follow
me God will speak to you also hear me he will speak to you through visions and dreams you need to hear this and sometimes you have to pray over it and I'm going to say this you have to be able to to receive counsel in the multitude of counselors it says there is safety and the multitude of counselors you make war this is something that a lot of people don't like to hear but I'm going to tell you anyway if for some reason you're not listening as you should or maybe you're lit maybe you're hearing this is the thing how many of you know you can hear but not really listen like kids are good at that aren't you mine are too they hear but they don't really listen like you tell them go get the brush they hear those words and come back with a dog I said get the brush not the doll oh right that's what but we do this to the Lord all the time but here what I'm gonna say too this is throughout the scriptures okay and this is the one that makes you know the traditional churches nervous when we say stuff like this God will speak to you through other people Prophet Elders counselors other Christians sometimes even speak to you through a complete stranger and unsaved person because they'll say something you go oh Lord I know you're talking to you I'll say this it takes greater humility from another person and to truly take it as a word from the Lord because we know people are fallible people can be wrong but you got to be able to listen you got to be able to listen just like you know little faith here my six-year-old just turned six she's had some dreams and words prophetic words and yeah she talks about a lot of things you know her toys and her games and her dolls and all this stuff and she's a real shy little bug she doesn't like Daddy to talk about her but there's times that God's giving her dreams times God spoken through her so clearly and I and and you know you got to be humble enough I can receive it if I'd recognize that God is speaking to me through five or six year old it's humble sometimes sometimes you just check and see if you would humble yourself
and listen to somebody else how many of you know nobody makes it through their life by themselves all right and God really speaks and I'm going to tell you this hear me he really speaks through authority figures that he puts in your life because Authority is established by God so children this is why God wants you to listen to your parents because especially if you have been parents Godly Parents God many times is speaking through them because they're in a place of authority over you even to this day we get grown still need to listen many times God will speak to you through your dad through your mom through your grandma right God will speak to you through your pastor through elders he'll speak to you through a teacher Maybe a you know a boss at work these authority figures Authority is established by God and he speaks through that and just because some abuse it doesn't mean it's not of God when that he's not going to use that in your life sometimes right anything can be abused right and we won't even get into the gifts of the holy spirit today see I believe for instance I believe my wife I know the Bible talks about the gift of the interpretation of tongue one of the nine gifts of the holy spirit Bible talks about Discerning your spirits one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit the word of knowledge Word of Wisdom Supernatural knowledge about the past of the present word of wisdom about the future and the will of God prophecy inspired utterances diverse tongues healings working in miracles but the Bible also talks about it shows certain people are gifted with the interpretation of Dreams like Joseph like Daniel right so there's certain people that are gifted I think I I mean I God's given me that gift I've been able to interpret people's dreams and it be just dead on over the years but I told my wife I said you're more gifted at it than I am I recognize that in her she is far more gifted at it than me and it's not you know and there was a guy years ago there was a preacher he's now deceased passed away wrote a book about how do you interpret dreams and I'm gonna tell you right now don't read a book like that you want me to tell you why because there's no set formula for interpreting a dream that's from the Lord you have to seek the Holy Spirit to give that inspiration to give that revelation of what those symbols are meaning in that dream sometimes it's very obvious sometimes it's not sometimes God just wants you to pray over it but sometimes God's going to give it directly to you give you understand it and sometimes he'll he'll he'll help he'll bring someone else in your past to help you know help you
understand sometimes the reason he does it is because he doesn't want you to understand it when the dream's given it's for a later time but I can tell you this the Lord wants us to be humble enough to hear his voice and be led by the holy spirit in any of these ways he so chooses or even in multiple ways at the same time or over the same issue and many many times hear me it will not go along with your logical natural mind your mind will be saying this can't be you know what's funny I was going through one of the most difficult times of my life financially spiritually emotionally I was a wreck I just have been devastated and went lost everything went through just one of the darkest periods of my life and I mean struggle struggled financially for a long time for a number of years foreign the very house that we live in now rent free mortgage free I was sitting on the porch of that house and I'm reading the book of Acts the last few chapters where Paul had went through this terrible storm this terrible trial and been bitten by a snake when he finally got to Rome which was God's destination for him and he finally got to Rome he thought he's going to be in the dungeon and shackles and as a prisoner until he could see Caesar because he had appealed to Caesar so as a Roman citizen he was going to stand before Caesar to make his case and when he got there all right we hadn't received any letters from Judea about you and it says they provided a house for him for two years I'll tell you something I went through that and got through that difficult time period and kept trying to hear from God and obey God even in one of the most difficult times of my life and I wouldn't give up I wouldn't quit I wouldn't backslide fall away and run from God and get angry and offended I was even homeless for a time I had my car reposit I've been through I went through hell but I wouldn't turn loose to the Lord and then he brought this woman in my life and then he opened the doors to bring me back to doing what he called me to do and then he provided a car and then another car and then we came here and we rented a place for two years
and then the door opened and somebody just let us have a house in Auburn rent-free for two years and then when we had to move out of that house it sold the door opened to the other house that I'd been sitting on the porch when he told me we'll take care of you and that's what he was telling me I'm going to take care of you son the Day's coming you're not even gonna have to pay rent four years I hadn't had the payment you see what I'm saying in the natural though my life was a financial disaster Zone I actually looked at that and I laughed I wrote it down in my Bible I think it's still back there written down where I wrote it now and I'm lying nothing that's when I still had the car it got worse in there because it was after that that the car got ready for this but I can tell you this there's nothing like being led by the spirit because if I hadn't been led by the spirit of God I wouldn't be here I wouldn't have her as my wife and my perfect match I wouldn't have this beautiful child that we have now I wouldn't have known you guys wouldn't been able to help you all and be blessed by y'all and you see what I'm saying I mean everything every choice we make every direction we take every step we take there's consequences there's ramification it's it's and I think back I had choices you know the devil tried to bring the wrong woman into my life before her I was deceived for about a week services [Music] then the Holy Ghost said this isn't the one run run Son run run Force run I did too and I thank God everything I ran every decision we made and and every step of obedience brings you closer and closer to the blessings and the peace and the joy and the purpose of God and you fulfilling God's perfect will for your life your perfect simple choices though simple what appear to be simple decisions simple choices someone can throw us off track and throw us off track for years so be led by the spirit of God Amen the Holy Spirit Romans 8 the Holy Spirit Bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God can I say you don't you can't even know
for sure if it's just in your head some some doctrines you believe Trey you experienced this you believed in Jesus for a long time you believe the word of God was the truth you believed it but you weren't born again yet but being led by the spirit of God is that when the Holy Spirit comes apart when he Bears witness in your spirit beyond your own understanding beyond your flesh and he Bears witness in your spirit and let me tell you whatever the Holy Spirit Bears witness in your spirit 100 and you know he's spoken to you and moved upon you no one can steal that from no one can take it listen the atheists and the Muslims and the crazy Cults and all these uh these crazy people out here no hell Rob Bell and everybody else Oprah and Eckhart Tolle and Joel Osteen and all the rest of them they they can say all kind of stuff they want to say they're too late for this guy because see it's not just a Doctrine to me it's not just a Creed so I thought it's not just a religion that I say I adhere to I know the Lord Jesus Christ I know him in the spirit I know him in my heart in my mind in my soul in my spirit in my conscience in my intuition I have experienced his love his power I have heard his voice I have seen his miracles I know that I no one can take that from me there's nothing that could be done no aliens could appear the ships in the sky you know the demons are coming y'all you know that to deceive the word they could appeared that the motherships in the sky could come and they said oh oh this is where we came from the aliens no goofball the devil's gonna put on a big show coming up says the false prophet will call fire down from heaven he said it'll deceive the people on the Earth guess what too late I know Jesus Christ is the way he's the truth he's the life he's the fullness of the godhead bodily he is the one and the only one who died on the cross for sin he is the one who rose from the dead he is the Alpha and the Omega the beginning and the ending the Good Shepherd the only door we must believe in him confess him and and follow him and be a disciple of him to be saved and go to heaven it's that simple and there is a real hell because he said so the same Bible that says God is love says there is a hell for the unbeliever and the wicked the same Bible says you can be forgiven if you believe if you repent if you follow the Lord Jesus it's the same Bible says If you deny him and reject him or you disobey him and live in sin that you will die and go to hell
and the same Bible says if you believe in following you can't pick and choose word I thank you for the truth I'm just grateful today Lord that we can really intimately know you we can hear your voice we can experience the spirit realm we can see things he's promised you even said in the last days you're going to pour out your spirit on All Flesh and our sons and daughters are prophesying young men would see visions and old men would dream dreams prophetic Revelation or will be in the last days so I thank you Lord that the gifts of the Holy Spirit and being spirit-led is not something that's been done away with as many teach father I ask you to bless your people everyone here today those listening today all over the country all over the world different countries bless them guide them lead them into all truth lead them into the baptism of the holy spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues lead them into the gifts of the Spirit lead them into your perfect Will Reveal Your Perfect will give discernment o God of wolves and sheets clothing and deceivers and liars and deceived people Lord we pray that you would give your people discernment a hearing ear and a and more just a sense of the Holy Spirit as they Seek You as they read the word as they pray as they fast as they hunger and thirst as they obey I'll be filled let them be anointed let them be discerning all I pray this in Jesus name and the father we come before you we praise you for who you are crazy for what you're doing we praise you for everything you've done and uh that's that you continue to work in this ministry and the president gifts that are given and we praise you for providing all of our needs to Jesus name amen amen
