Lyrics

[Intro — spoken, drums enter] Everybody wants their name in lights. Let mine go dark if His gets lifted. You came to find out who runs this? What's His Name?

[Verse 1 — hard, measured] Kick the door off pride, let the daylight through, Every bar's got a target: the throne I drew. Put myself in the center, let the crowd bow down, Now I'm dragging that idol out of town. You can carve my name in a platinum plaque, It can't raise one soul when the lungs go slack. Can't wash one stain, can't break one chain, Can't stand in your place on your judgment day. I was chasing a crown made of smoke and mirrors, He was calling me out while I plugged both ears. Had a mouth full of thunder, a heart full of rust, Talked big for a man going back to dust. Then the Word hit harder than a battle-round closer, Cut through the pose till the fraud was exposed, yeah. No spin, no defense, no excuses to bring, Just a rebel on his knees in the court of the King. John three-thirty: let the spotlight shift, He must increase; I don't own this gift. If the mic makes a monument out of my face, Pull the plug. I won't take His place.

[Hook — shouted call and response] What's His Name? JESUS! Who broke the grave? JESUS! Who paid the price that I couldn't pay? Give God the glory; get pride out the way! What's His Name? JESUS! Who do we praise? JESUS! Let my name fade; let His stay raised! All glory to God for the rest of my days!

[Verse 2 — tighter, accelerating] You want battle bars? Here's a King with scars, No borrowed authority, no rented stars. He spoke, and the storm had to swallow its roar; Death heard His voice at Lazarus' door. No hype-man needed to establish His rank, He fed the multitude when the cupboards were blank. Touched the untouchable, made lepers clean, Put mercy where the world wouldn't dare be seen. Then the hands that healed took the nails for sinners, They mocked Him like defeat was the fate of the winner. He could summon the angels; He endured the cost, Love wasn't weak when He stayed on the cross. My sins weren't small; His mercy ran deep, The Shepherd laid His life down for the sheep. No verse that I write could purchase that pardon, No crowd could roll that stone from the garden. Third day rose; now the boast gets buried, I don't carry salvation; salvation carried me. Acts four-twelve, let the whole room hear: No other name saves. Make the message clear. You can sell out arenas, put your face on screens, Still be chained backstage to the same old things. Come to Christ, lay the whole false kingdom down, What's a million hands up if your soul stays bound?

[Hook — full drums, crowd answers] What's His Name? JESUS! Who broke the grave? JESUS! Who paid the price that I couldn't pay? Give God the glory; get pride out the way! What's His Name? JESUS! Who do we praise? JESUS! Let my name fade; let His stay raised! All glory to God for the rest of my days!

[Bridge — half-time, stripped bass] Search my heart when the applause gets loud. Keep me kneeling when they stand in the crowd. Let me never sell Your cross for a throne. Every breath I have is Yours on loan. Psalm one-fifteen: the glory is Yours. Let that truth shake the stage and the floors. If they leave with my name but forget who You are, I've missed the whole point of every bar.

[Verse 3 — double-time, then heavy pauses] Kill the comparison, bury the vanity, Numbers ain't proof of a heart walking faithfully. Watch how the ego can dress up religiously, Say it's for God while it feeds on publicity. I need the truth in the booth and the kitchen, Same bowed heart when nobody is listening. Can't preach surrender while guarding my pedestal, Can't make the servant the center of everything. First Corinthians one-thirty-one: Let the boast be in the Lord when the boasting is done. I don't need another rapper underneath my feet, Need my own pride underneath His feet. Ephesians six: flesh and blood ain't the fight, So I won't turn a lost soul into a punch line. I can swing hard at the lie, call the darkness out, Then point to the Savior with the same loud mouth. [Heavy pauses] He is Lord. That's the claim. Every knee will bow at Jesus' name. Philippians two: every tongue confess, To the Father's glory, no glory theft. Keep the trophies. Christ is the treasure. Keep me faithful through the heat and the pressure. When the last beat stops and the lights all die, Let them know who saves, not who held the mic.

[Final Hook — biggest, abrupt ending] What's His Name? JESUS! Who broke the grave? JESUS! Who paid the price that I couldn't pay? Give God the glory; get pride out the way! What's His Name? JESUS! Who do we praise? JESUS! Let my name fade; let His stay raised! All glory to God for the rest of my days!

[Outro — a cappella] Remember the Savior. What's His Name? JESUS.
