[Intro - spoken, no drums]
First Corinthians, ten, twenty-one.
The cup of the Lord, the cup of devils.
You can’t drink both.
Come out.
[Verse 1 - tight, measured]
October on the block, every porch got a plot,
Plastic blood on the steps, little eyes take the shock.
Storefront full of killers with a sale on the mask,
But the fear comes home when the shopping bags pass.
My kids saw the costumes, the nightmares came later,
So I closed that door; I’m their dad, not fear’s caterer.
Movie ads flash, then the sleep gets fractured,
I’m teaching them peace, not a pose for the camera.
They say, “It’s just pretend,” but the tears weren’t staged,
Little hearts need a shepherd, not a tour through a cage.
Why dress up the darkness that the Savior defeats?
Why make murder a mascot and parade it through streets?
Christ faced death to break its grip,
Rose from the grave; we remember that gift.
We can mourn those we lost without making death glow,
Jesus calls us to life; that’s the road that we chose.
[Hook - forceful, chantable]
Come out! Come out! Put the dark cup down!
We belong to the King; let the truth ring loud!
Can’t drink the Lord’s cup and the demons’ too,
One heart, one Lord; tell me, who you choose?
Come out! Come out! Let the old chains fall!
We don’t need that night; Jesus gave us all!
What He broke on the cross, I won’t bring to my house,
Walk in the light, turn around, come out!
[Verse 2 - storytelling, building]
Let’s check the roots before we follow the crowd,
All Hallows’ Eve is the name handed down.
Before All Saints, a church calendar date,
But the customs grew mixed as the years changed shape.
Samhain marked the turn from the harvest to cold,
Otherworld stories in the folklore told.
Not every old claim has the evidence clear,
I don’t need to make myths to explain why we’re here.
Old Halloween games tried to read who you’d wed,
Fortune sought in a ritual, a future to be read.
Now some witches keep Samhain with rites of their own,
Tarot cards, runes, seeking word from beyond.
Altars for ancestors, offerings laid,
Calling on gods when the ceremonies take place.
Their own teaching records it; go check what they say,
Those are real practices, not a prop in a play.
Samhain and Halloween differ in rites,
Not each kid wanting candy seeks spirits that night.
But when witches and demons get cheers in the street,
I’m asking what values we’re helping repeat.
[Hook - drums drop, then slam back]
Come out!
[Verse 3 - double-time, precise]
Deuteronomy eighteen, read nine through fourteen,
No divination, no consulting the unseen.
No witchcraft, no asking the dead for direction,
God gave His Word; we don’t need that connection.
Isaiah eight asks why seek the deceased
When the living God speaks? Let His truth lead.
Galatians five puts witchcraft with the flesh,
Grace calls us out; we don’t dress it up fresh.
Acts nineteen, they brought books to the flame,
Turned from their magic when they trusted His name.
They didn’t keep spells with a Christian edition,
Repentance meant making a clean separation.
Ephesians five, verse eleven, go read:
Expose works of darkness; don’t join in the deeds.
Philippians four, verse eight, set the measure:
Pure, true, worthy of praise; choose your treasure.
Paul warned of fellowship at an idol’s table,
Not every meal in the market wore that label.
Candy isn’t cursed and a pumpkin isn’t sin,
But what are we praising in the party we’re in?
I won’t make a joke of the evil He condemns,
Or teach little hearts to applaud it with friends.
Not scared of a date, not afraid of the block,
My Lord owns the days; my foundation is rock.
[Bridge - half-time, intimate]
Son, we love our neighbors; we don’t hate their kids.
We can share a meal without sharing all they did.
We can laugh in the autumn, give thanks for the grain,
Leave the masks on the shelf; there’s still joy in His name.
You don’t have to fit in to be precious and known,
You belong to the Savior; you’re never alone.
His light doesn’t flicker when the street turns black,
Take His hand, breathe easy; we’re not going back.
[Final Hook - full energy, layered responses]
Come out!
[Outro - spoken]
Love your neighbors. Guard your children.
Follow Jesus.
Come out.
