Lyrics
[Intro] That old iron plow still cuts a line, But the hand that turns must fix its eyes. Jesus said it plain—when you answer the call, Set your face toward the kingdom; don’t look back at all. [Verse 1] Romans eight: the Spirit leads, the flesh can’t drive, Put the old desires to death; let the new life thrive. Not a prayer you prayed then a life unchanged, New birth is the doorway; now be rearranged. Galatians five, walk by the Spirit, bear the fruit, A living faith grows branches, puts temptation at the root. John ten: His sheep hear His voice and follow through, Day by day, step by step, staying close to You. [Hook] Hand to the plow, eyes on the King, No turning back when the hard winds sting. Your will, Lord—not mine—let the old road fade, I’ll follow Your voice through the choices I’ve made. Hand to the plow, heart set ahead, Leave Sodom behind, leave the old life dead. Though the field runs rough and the night feels long, I’ll keep moving forward; Your word is my song. [Verse 2] “Let me first”—three words that can stall the call, Comfort, plans, approval—make an idol of them all. Luke nine cuts deep; no excuse can steer, A divided heart can’t plow a straight furrow here. In Gethsemane, Jesus prayed, “Thy will be done,” The cup was heavy, still He faced what must come. Luke fourteen counts the cost; the invite goes wide, But fields, work, family can become where we hide. Love Him above all; let no rival take the throne, The narrow road is walked in obedience alone. [Verse 3] Proverbs three: trust the Lord with all your heart, Don’t lean on your own sense; let Him guide each part. First John two: this world and its lust pass away, But the one who does God’s will stands past the day. The road can bring suffering; Job knew the test, Yet God can restore what the storm dispossessed. Joshua one: take courage; be strong, don’t fear, The Lord goes before you, and His word stays clear. Not every urge is a message—test the way, Let Scripture be the measure of the steps you take each day. [Bridge] Remember Lot’s wife—don’t long for the place That chained your heart and turned you from grace. What profit the world if your soul is lost? Take up your cross; count the cost. Examine your faith; abide in the vine, Use what He gave you; let the fruit be a sign. The Shepherd calls—keep close, remain, Through fire and flood, don’t turn again. [Final Hook] Hand to the plow, eyes on the King, No turning back when the hard winds sting. Your will, Lord—not mine—let the old road fade, I’ll follow Your voice through the choices I’ve made. Hand to the plow, heart set ahead, Leave Sodom behind, leave the old life dead. Faithful with little, fruitful and strong, I’ll keep moving forward till You call me home. [Outro] My sheep hear My voice, and they follow Me— Hand to the plow. Eyes fixed. No looking back.
