Lyrics
Intro — spoken
Remember what was written—though you already know: The Lord delivered Israel, brought them out from Pharaoh. Saved from Egypt, sheltered underneath the blood— But afterward destroyed those who would not trust in God.
Spoken: “Jude, verse five.”
Grace is not permission to return to chains. The Savior who forgives us also calls us to be changed.
Verse 1
Death passed over when blood marked the door; The sea split open, Pharaoh drowned on the floor. They tasted bread that descended from heaven, Drank from the Rock—still chose rebellion. Built them a calf while the mountain still burned, Longed for Egypt, from the living God turned.
Paul said consider those bodies that fell: They were under the cloud, yet lusted and rebelled. These things were examples, written so we learn— If you think that you stand, take heed lest you turn.
Spoken: “First Corinthians ten, verses one through twelve.”
Guard your heart lest unbelief make you depart; We partake of Christ if we hold to the end. Today, hear His voice—do not harden again.
Spoken: “Hebrews three, verses twelve through fourteen.”
Chorus
He saved them out of Egypt—afterward destroyed Those who chose rebellion and refused to hear His voice. Sodom stands in ashes as a warning through the flame: Grace will never sanctify continuing in shame.
Do not be deceived by a comfortable lie: “Make peace with your sin—you can never fall or die.” Christ did not redeem us to leave us in the grave; The faith that truly follows is the faith that will remain.
Verse 2
Sodom and Gomorrah still speak from the dust, An example of the judgment that must come. Eternal fire testifies that God commands repent.
Spoken: “Jude, verses six and seven.”
Certain men crept in, just as Jude had foretold, Turning grace to lust while denying Christ the Lord. Promising freedom while themselves enslaved. Peter said they escaped this world’s pollution Through knowing Jesus Christ—then returned to corruption. Entangled and overcome, their latter end was worse; Like a dog to its vomit, like a washed sow to the mire.
Spoken: “Second Peter two, verses eighteen through twenty-two.”
Chorus
Verse 3 — double-time
The time will come when they won’t endure Sound doctrine that exposes the disease and brings the cure. Itching ears gather teachers by the score: “Tell me I’m secure while I rebel against the Lord.”
Spoken: “Second Timothy four, verses three and four.”
They turn from truth and embrace fabricated tales; Smooth words hide the serpent’s deadly trail. Paul said if an angel brings another gospel—cursed;
Spoken: “Galatians one, verses six through nine.”
Some use forgiveness as a cloak to feed the flesh, But the grace that brings salvation teaches godliness: Deny the worldly lusts; live soberly and right. Works cannot buy salvation, but dead faith cannot give life.
Spoken: “Titus two, verses eleven and twelve.”
Verse 4 — heavy
If we sin willfully after knowing what is true, No sacrifice remains to make rebellion new. Only fearful judgment and the fire drawing near. They trampled on the Son, treated covenant blood That sanctified them as unholy in the mud. Do not draw back to ruin; keep believing in faith.
Spoken: “Hebrews ten, verses twenty-six through thirty-nine.”
Some were enlightened, tasted heaven’s gift, Partook of the Spirit, yet abandoned it. Thorns receive the rain, but their ending is the flame; Hold fast your confidence—God is not mocked or tamed.
Spoken: “Hebrews six, verses four through eight.”
You stand by faith, so never boast with pride; Branches broke through unbelief inside. Continue in His goodness, or cut off you’ll be.
Spoken: “Romans eleven, verses twenty through twenty-two.”
Bridge — haunting
“I am the Vine—abide in Me. Apart from Me, no life can be. The branch in Me that will not stay Withers, is gathered, and burns away.”
Spoken: “John fifteen, verses one through six.”
Final Verse
This is not a call to earn what Jesus freely gave; No labor adds one payment to the ransom that He paid. But saving faith continues—it does not cherish lies; Grace produces holiness within a yielded life. Conviction brings repentance; rebellion despises grace.
Build upon your holy faith and pray within the Ghost; Keep yourself in God’s love—Christ alone must be your boast. Save some out of fire; hate sin’s polluted ways.
Spoken: “Jude, verses twenty through twenty-three.”
Final Chorus
He saved them out of Egypt—afterward destroyed Those who chose rebellion and refused to hear His voice. Sodom stands in ashes as a warning through the flame: Grace will never sanctify continuing in shame.
Hold fast what you have—let no man take your crown. Those who endure with Jesus will reign when He comes down.
Outro — spoken
Today—if you hear His voice—harden not your heart.
Spoken: “Hebrews three, verses seven and eight.”
