Church FinderREVIEW METHODOLOGY

Why “reviewed” must mean more than a label.

The directory separates what a church says, what its local teachers teach, and what can actually be verified.

Publication gates

A public listing must pass every foundational gate with direct, local evidence. Missing evidence is not counted as agreement. Godhead labels such as “Trinity,” “three persons,” “Oneness,” or “manifestations” are never scored by themselves; the review examines what the church means by them. Water baptism, its formula, Spirit baptism, and tongues are not treated as conditions of initial salvation.

  • Scripture as final authority
  • One God and the full deity of Jesus Christ
  • The biblical gospel
  • New birth, water baptism, and Spirit baptism
  • Rejection of unconditional eternal security

False-teaching screens

The current Watchman 33 false-teaching baseline is checked separately. A representative sermon sample is required whenever usable teaching media exists. Titles, denominational reputation, and third-party summaries are not treated as proof.

Local church evidence

Parent organizations can provide context, but they cannot substitute for evidence from the local congregation. Profiles therefore distinguish local doctrine, leadership accountability, meeting details, and family-readiness information.
